Ty is green but never with envy. Best of all, he's usually available to help move a heavy piece of furniture. ~ John Hopkins
Comic Strips quotes by John Hopkins
I started writing when I was 9 years old. I was like this weird kid who would just stay in my room, typing little funny magazines and drawing comic strips. ~ R.L. Stine
Comic Strips quotes by R.L. Stine
Readers have told me that their children have learned to read after years of struggle after starting to read Garfield's comic strip and many people who have moved to the United States have said that they, too, learned English by reading Garfield. ~ Jim Davis
Comic Strips quotes by Jim Davis
Peellaert's comic strips were the literature of intelligence, imagination and romanticism. ~ Federico Fellini
Comic Strips quotes by Federico Fellini
Cheating on a quiz show? That's sort of like plagiarizing a comic strip. ~ Paul Scofield
Comic Strips quotes by Paul Scofield
I hope some historian will confirm that I was the first cartoonist to use the word 'booger' in a newspaper comic strip. ~ Bill Watterson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Watterson
It seems beyond the comprehension of people that someone can be born to draw comic strips, but I think I was. My ambition from earliest memory was to produce a daily comic strip. ~ Charles M. Schulz
Comic Strips quotes by Charles M. Schulz
I answered an ad, for a campus cartoonist at the university I was in, my freshman year. I was like, Oh, I can draw, and I'm sort of a funny guy. I should try this. Then they paid me to do a comic strip for the paper. ~ Dan Povenmire
Comic Strips quotes by Dan Povenmire
No American films?'

'I don't like comic strips.'

'Film noir?'

'Black is a very sentimental colour. You can hide any rubbish behind it. Hollywood flicks are fun, if your idea of a good time is a hamburger and a milk shake. America invented the movies so it would never need to grow up. We have angst, depression and middle-aged regret. They have Hollywood. ~ J.G. Ballard
Comic Strips quotes by J.G. Ballard
Comic strips are like a public utility. They're supposed to be there 365 days a year, and you're supposed to be able to hit the mark day after day. ~ Garry Trudeau
Comic Strips quotes by Garry Trudeau
I always think of "Popeye" and "Barney Google" as quintessential comic strips in that old rollicky, slapstick way we've sort of lost. ~ Bill Watterson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Watterson
I say, if you believe what you read in the comic strips, then you believe that mice run around with little gold buttons on their red pants and drive cars. ~ Mort Walker
Comic Strips quotes by Mort Walker
There were influences in my life that were more important than journalism, such as comic strips and radio. ~ Guillermo Cabrera Infante
Comic Strips quotes by Guillermo Cabrera Infante
I was an avid radio fan when I was a boy, as well as a great lover of comic strips. ~ Guillermo Cabrera Infante
Comic Strips quotes by Guillermo Cabrera Infante
Why does one never hear of government funding for the preservation and encouragement of comic strips, girlie magazines and TV soap operas? Because these genres still hold the audience they were created to amuse and instruct. ~ John Updike
Comic Strips quotes by John Updike
You can write a little and can draw a little, but there's necessarily a limitation on both in a comic strip, since it appears in such a tiny space. ~ Stephan Pastis
Comic Strips quotes by Stephan Pastis
The girls changing in the gym watched her from the other side of the room the first time she went in, and one of the nuns was sitting there as well, just because Stella was there. They took her into a meeting in school and she had to say in advance that she wasn't a lesbian, or they wouldn't have let her even try to use the girls' changing room. They asked her if she was still a Christian. She explained that her family are not religious. They asked her what she knew of damnation. She asked them what they knew of autonomy. They asked her how she knew that word. She asked if they had met her mother. They said they would pray for her. She said it was not necessary. They asked if she might feel different in a few months, or if perhaps she would simply change for gym in the janitor's cupboard. She said she'd felt like this her whole life and no amount of praying was going to change it and she could use the janitor's cupboard to change, but she was a person, not a broom. They said she needed to find Jesus. She asked if it was like finding Wally? Only one nun knew what she meant. That little drawing in those old comic strips her mum had, when you look for the dweeby guy in the stripy hat. ~ Jenni Fagan
Comic Strips quotes by Jenni Fagan
"Real" drawing is about specifics. It's about describing an object as accurately as possible. In a comic strip you have to draw a picture of the idea of the object. You have to draw the word that you are picturing, then you have to mix in specifics with it for it to work as a story. But you are still working with drawn words. ~ Chris Ware
Comic Strips quotes by Chris Ware
Man, I put myself in a lot of comic strips. Something's wrong with my sense of self. ~ Stephan Pastis
Comic Strips quotes by Stephan Pastis
I draw a weekly comic strip called Life in Hell, which is syndicated in about 250 newspapers. That's what I did before The Simpsons, and what I plan to do for the rest of my life. ~ Matt Groening
Comic Strips quotes by Matt Groening
I had been drawing my weekly comic strip, 'Life in Hell,' for about five years when I got a call from Jim Brooks, who was developing 'The Tracey Ullman Show' for the brand-new Fox network. He wanted me to come in and pitch an idea for doing little cartoons on that show. ~ Matt Groening
Comic Strips quotes by Matt Groening
Amazingly, much of the best cartoon work was done early on in the medium's history. The early cartoonists, with no path before them, produced work of such sophistication, wit, and beauty that it increasingly seems to me that cartoon evolution is working backward. Comic strips are moving toward a primordial goo rather than away from it ... Not only can comics be more than we're getting today. but the comics already have been more than we're getting today. ~ Bill Watterson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Watterson
Going seventy miles an hour but not going anywhere - not enough imagination to want to go anywhere! Getting their music by turning a dial. Getting their phrases from the comic strips instead of from Shakespeare and the Bible and Veblen and Old Bill Sumner. Pap-fed flabs! ~ Sinclair Lewis
Comic Strips quotes by Sinclair Lewis
I went over to where Ted was leaning against the green cinderblock wall. He was sitting with his legs splayed out below the bulletin board, which was full of notices from the Mathematical Society of America, which nobody ever read, Peanuts comic strips (the acme of humor, in the late Mrs. Underwood's estimation), and a poster showing Bertrand Russell and a quote: "Gravity alone proves the existence of God." But any undergraduate in creation could have told Bertrand that it has been conclusively proved that there is no gravity; the earth just sucks. ~ Richard Bachman
Comic Strips quotes by Richard Bachman
Saturday morning cartoons do that now, where they develop the toy and then draw the cartoon around it, and the result is the cartoon is a commercial for the toy and the toy is a commercial for the cartoon. The same thing's happening now in comic strips; it's just another way to get the competitive edge. You saturate all the different markets and allow each other to advertise the other, and it's the best of all possible worlds. You can see the financial incentive to work that way. I just think it's to the detriment of integrity in comic strip art. ~ Bill Watterson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Watterson
In a comic strip, you can suggest motion and time, but it's very crude compared to what an animator can do. I have a real awe for good animation. ~ Bill Watterson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Watterson
I'm extremely surprised to learn that a story, which has become familiar to children through the medium of comic strips and many succeeding novels and adventure stories, should have had such an immediate and profound effect upon radio listeners. ~ Orson Welles
Comic Strips quotes by Orson Welles
There's a rhythm to the words combined with the pictures [in a comic]. Whenever I'm working on a comic strip I re-read it, probably hundreds of times through to pay attention to how all of those things work. Sometimes even changing the angle of a character's eyebrow can really, seriously alter the effect and overall interpretation of a scene. And the insertion of a pause or a cough or a sniff, and all these things that we do in conversation, can bring it to life in a strange way. ~ Chris Ware
Comic Strips quotes by Chris Ware
Such is the nature of comic strips. Once established, their half-life is usually more than nuclear waste. Typically, the end result is lazy, rich cartoonists. ~ Berkeley Breathed
Comic Strips quotes by Berkeley Breathed
It's one thing to have a relationship, to lay your hands on it, and another to make it continue and last. That's something I haven't talked about much in my comic strips, and it's certainly something I'm interested in. ~ Lynda Barry
Comic Strips quotes by Lynda Barry
Anyone dumb enough to get his political information from a comic strip deserves what he gets at the polls. ~ Garry Trudeau
Comic Strips quotes by Garry Trudeau
Well, I'm always working on my comic strip and trying to, you know, keep cranking that out. ~ Alison Bechdel
Comic Strips quotes by Alison Bechdel
We're having the first computer-generated comic strip in the United States. ~ Majel Barrett
Comic Strips quotes by Majel Barrett
Babbitt looked up irritably from the comic strips in the Evening Advocate. They composed his favorite literature and art, these illustrated chronicles in which Mr. Mutt hit Mr. Jeff with a rotten egg, and Mother corrected Father's vulgarisms by means of a rolling-pin. With the solemn face of a devotee, breathing heavily through his open mouth, he plodded nightly through every picture, and during the rite he detested interruptions. ~ Sinclair Lewis
Comic Strips quotes by Sinclair Lewis
Along with all else, Sandman is a comic strip for intellectuals, and I say it's about time. ~ Norman Mailer
Comic Strips quotes by Norman Mailer
There are a lot of comic strips in Brazilian newspapers that have been around for 30, almost 40 years. They are very famous in Brazil. ~ Gabriel Ba
Comic Strips quotes by Gabriel Ba
We've seen the uproars around the world concerning cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammad. Anyone who does not think comic strips are relevant never had a fatwa put on him/her for drawing a picture. ~ Elayne Boosler
Comic Strips quotes by Elayne Boosler
Then came the era of 'box-tops' and 'thrillers.' It is not strange that the advertiser, in his search for the right kind of program to catch the attention of the largest number of youngsters, turned to the comic strips. ~ Judith C. Waller
Comic Strips quotes by Judith C. Waller
I suppose I would still prefer to sit under a tree with a picnic basket rather than under a gas pump, but signs and comic strips are interesting as subject matter. ~ Roy Lichtenstein
Comic Strips quotes by Roy Lichtenstein
The term sci-fi, which most science fiction writers loathe, I will reserve for those motion pictures that claim to be science fiction but are actually based on comic strips. Or worse. ~ Ben Bova
Comic Strips quotes by Ben Bova
Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse ... by Floyd Gottfredson will be warmly received by comics aficionados but should also intrigue Disney animation buffs who aren't necessarily plugged into comic strip history ... I have a feeling that this book, crafted with such obvious care, will earn Gottfredson a new legion of admirers. ~ Leonard Maltin
Comic Strips quotes by Leonard Maltin
It's really a pity that there are observers who view political events like comic strips. There has to be a Zorro, there has to be a star. No, the problem of Upper Volta is more serious than that. It was a grave mistake to have looked for a man, a star, at all costs, to the point of creating one, that is, to the point of attributing the ownership of the event to captain Sankara, who must have been the brains, etc. ~ Thomas Sankara
Comic Strips quotes by Thomas Sankara
I remember my comic strips being called 'new wave.' It bugged me. ~ Lynda Barry
Comic Strips quotes by Lynda Barry
I never storyboard. I hate it. I don't understand why so many directors want to make comic strips of their films. ~ Patrice Leconte
Comic Strips quotes by Patrice Leconte
Bentley is a good bee with a shaky sense of direction and an appetite for mayhem. Just don't call him a drone. He hates that. ~ John Hopkins
Comic Strips quotes by John Hopkins
To live in society today is like living in one enormous comic-strip. ~ Jean-Luc Godard
Comic Strips quotes by Jean-Luc Godard
My parents read the comics to me, and I fell in love with comic strips. I've collected them all of my life. I have a complete collection of all the "Buck Rogers" Sunday funnies and daily paper strips, I have all of "Prince Valiant" put away, all of "Tarzan," which appeared in the Sunday funnies in 1932 right on up through high school. So I've learned a lot from reading comics as a child. ~ Ray Bradbury
Comic Strips quotes by Ray Bradbury
In comic strips, the person on the left always speaks first. ~ George Carlin
Comic Strips quotes by George Carlin
I hate when people ask what a book is about. People who read for plot, people who suck out the story like the cream filling in an Oreo, should stick to comic strips and soap operas ... Every book worth a damn is about emotions and love and death and pain. It's about words. It's about a man dealing with life. Okay? ~ J.R. Moehringer
Comic Strips quotes by J.R. Moehringer
I think in daily newspapers, the way comic strips are treated, it's as if newspaper publishers are going out of their way to kill the medium. ~ Matt Groening
Comic Strips quotes by Matt Groening
I imagine as long as people will continue to read novels, people will continue to write them, or vice versa; unless of course the pictorial magazines and comic strips finally atrophy man's capacity to read, and literature really is on its way back to the picture writing in the Neanderthal cave. ~ William Faulkner
Comic Strips quotes by William Faulkner
Look! A trickle of water running through some dirt! I'd say our afternoon just got booked solid! ~ Bill Watterson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Watterson
I try hard to give rhythm to the changes of pace in a film so that the directing is full of contrast: moments when the direction is reserved and academic, and then suddenly there's a change in tone. Here's what I dream of: that the viewer in the movie theater says to himself, 'yeah, okay, it's filmed theater,' and then suddenly changes his mind: 'yes, but in theater you can't do that…' And it goes back and forth from theater to film, and sometimes over to comic strips with Blutch's input. I'd like to try to achieve what Raymond Queneau called in Saint-Glinglin 'la brouchecoutaille,' a sort of ratatouille, by breaking down the walls between film and theater and thus ending up totally free. ~ Alain Resnais
Comic Strips quotes by Alain Resnais
I want an iPhone 5, someone said something nasty on twitter, or my boyfriend isn't texting me back, like whatever the thing is that seems so major in your life, when a real disaster hits you suddenly strips it all away and you see what's really important and who you really are. ~ Eli Roth
Comic Strips quotes by Eli Roth
The people that are running the bulk of the comic shops in North America aren't business people and they don't understand sales. They don't understand good product. ~ Rob Walton
Comic Strips quotes by Rob Walton
We have to do a film parody for Comic Relief. We can't decide which film to parody at the moment. Any ideas welcome, but not Spiderman owing to costume being too tight. ~ Dawn French
Comic Strips quotes by Dawn French
I am a huge comic book nerd and video game nerd, so to get to actually play one of those characters would be off the chain. It would be amazing. ~ Zachary Levi
Comic Strips quotes by Zachary Levi
I met a bunch of comic-book writers at the Metropolis convention and there was such an interesting discussion about the story of 'Supergirl' and trying to get it right. It can be a challenge, because you don't want it to be the same as the Superman story. ~ Helen Slater
Comic Strips quotes by Helen Slater
It is sometimes forgotten how much wit there is in certain works of abstract art. There is a certain point in undergoing anguish when one encounters the comic. ~ Robert Motherwell
Comic Strips quotes by Robert Motherwell
I'M LOSING FAITH IN MY FAVORITE COUNTRY

Throughout my life, the United States has been my favorite country, save and except for Canada, where I was born, raised, educated, and still live for six months each year. As a child growing up in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, I aggressively bought and saved baseball cards of American and National League players, spent hours watching snowy images of American baseball and football games on black and white television and longed for the day when I could travel to that great country. Every Saturday afternoon, me and the boys would pay twelve cents to go the show and watch U.S. made movies, and particularly, the Superman serial. Then I got my chance. My father, who worked for B.F. Goodrich, took my brother and me to watch the Cleveland Indians play baseball in the Mistake on the Lake in Cleveland. At last I had made it to the big time. I thought it was an amazing stadium and it was certainly not a mistake. Amazingly, the Americans thought we were Americans.

I loved the United States, and everything about the country: its people, its movies, its comic books, its sports, and a great deal more. The country was alive and growing. No, exploding. It was the golden age of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The American dream was alive and well, but demanded hard work, honesty, and frugality. Everyone understood that. Even the politicians.

Then everything changed.

Partly because of its proximity to ~ Stephen Douglass
Comic Strips quotes by Stephen Douglass
I went into Hollywood and met Mike Aarons and went to Grantray-Lawrence Animation to work on the, by today's standards, extremely cheap and crude Marvel superheroes cartoons which basically consisted of taking stacks of the comic book art, taking parts of the art, pasting it down, extending it down into drawings and occasionally a new piece of art to bridge the comic book panels and limited animation and lip movement. ~ Mike Royer
Comic Strips quotes by Mike Royer
You don't usually have to wait a month for a new episode of a TV show. We ask comic readers to wait a month for a new issue, and honestly, given the time that it takes to put them together, a month is really too fast. ~ Kelly Sue DeConnick
Comic Strips quotes by Kelly Sue DeConnick
Chris Addison is a stand-up comic, but his ability to act is extraordinary, to be so natural, I've taken 25 years just getting to that level. ~ Peter Capaldi
Comic Strips quotes by Peter Capaldi
I like "Rock, Paper, Scissors Two-Thirds." You know. "Rock breaks scissors." "These scissors are bent. They're destroyed. I can't cut stuff. So I lose." "Scissors cuts paper." "These are strips. This is not even paper. It's gonna take me forever to put this back together." "Paper covers rock." "Rock is fine. No structural damage to rock. Rock can break through paper at any point. Just say the word. Paper sucks." There should be "Rock, Dynamite with a Cutable Wick, Scissors." ~ Demetri Martin
Comic Strips quotes by Demetri Martin
When I was a kid, I wanted to be serious, like Daniel Day-Lewis. No one really dreams of being a comic actor, do they? Now I realise how stupid that is - and it's because comic acting isn't taken seriously enough. It's a discipline. You know instantly - either you're funny and getting the laughs, or you're not. ~ Chris O'Dowd
Comic Strips quotes by Chris O'Dowd
I would like to do more dramas when I find a good role that will allow me to politely upset people's expectations of me as a comic actor. ~ Ben Stiller
Comic Strips quotes by Ben Stiller
I remember back when I was a kid there was a comic strip called Plastic Man. His body was elastic and he could make his extremities as long as he wanted. As a youngster I didn't fully appreciate. But I'm now thinking Plastic Man was probably pretty popular with the ladies. ~ Ben Affleck
Comic Strips quotes by Ben Affleck
And I had worked at the comic-book store almost by accident, because I was deciding to make a living as an artist, be it as an art tutor or illustrator, and that's how I wanted to make my living. ~ Brian Michael Bendis
Comic Strips quotes by Brian Michael Bendis
I think I would love a shot at remaking 'The Philadelphia Story,' as daunting as it is. I still think it's fantastic. I love the '30s comedies because they're allowed to be both comic and elegant, and the women are so complicated in them. ~ Michael Patrick King
Comic Strips quotes by Michael Patrick King
On radio and television, magazines and the movies, you can't tell what you're going to get. When you look at the comic page, you can usually depend on something acceptable by the entire family. ~ Bil Keane
Comic Strips quotes by Bil Keane
When I was very young, before I could read, I remember being very interested in comic books. ~ Nathan Fillion
Comic Strips quotes by Nathan Fillion
I ended my statement to the colored soldiers by saying: "Now, I shall be very sorry to hurt you, and you don't know whether or not I will keep my word, but my men can tell you that I always do;" whereupon my cow-punchers, hunters, and miners solemnly nodded their heads and commented in chorus, exactly as if in a comic opera, "He always does; he always does! ~ Theodore Roosevelt
Comic Strips quotes by Theodore Roosevelt
The comic book world is so dangerous, you know what I mean? You say one thing and people - they're ravenous - they are very opinionated fans. But they're great fans. ~ Chris Evans
Comic Strips quotes by Chris Evans
Everything really is going to be okay. (And if not okay, then at least comic.) ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
Comic Strips quotes by Elizabeth Gilbert
My stories are very somber, so I think I need the comic ingredient. Besides, life has so much humor. ~ Manuel Puig
Comic Strips quotes by Manuel Puig
If there is not laughter in intimacy, it becomes heavy, burdensome, and dull. At my best moments, the love dialogue I try to carry on with You each day is comic-what could be more comic than a human addressing the Ground of Being as an intimate? It's a kind of blasphemy that I dare because you have called for it, and that is pretty humorous, too. ~ Andrew Greeley
Comic Strips quotes by Andrew Greeley
Whatever kind of story you're telling, whether it's a genre piece for a comic book or whatever it is, it has importance because it's all a metaphor for the existence of our being. ~ Seth Gabel
Comic Strips quotes by Seth Gabel
He caught the first man in the back of the knee before they even knew he was there, and the heavy axehead split flesh and bone like rotten wood. Logs that bleed, Tyrion thought inanely as the second man came for him. Tyrion ducked under his sword, lashed out with the axe, the man reeled backward ... and Catelyn Stark stepped up behind him and opened his throat. The horseman remembered an urgent engagement elsewhere and galloped off suddenly. ~ George R R Martin
Comic Strips quotes by George R R Martin
There are still some people out there who believe comic books are nothing more than, well, comic books. But the true cognoscenti know graphic novels are - at their best - an amazing blend of art literature and the theater of the mind. ~ John Ridley
Comic Strips quotes by John Ridley
German is a much more precise language than English. Americans throw the word love around for everything: I love my wife! I love all my friends! I love rock music! I love the rain! I love comic books! I love peanut butter!

The word you use to describe your feelings for your wife should not be the same word you use to describe your feelings for peanut butter. In German, there are a dozen different words that describe varying degrees of liking something a lot. Germans almost never use the word love, unless they mean a deep romantic love. I have never told my parents I love them, because it would sound melodramatic, inappropriate, and almost incestuous. In German, you tell your mother that you hold her very dear, not that you are in love with her. ~ Oliver Markus Malloy
Comic Strips quotes by Oliver Markus Malloy
It was 1978 when Superman came out, and I kept thinking, Why don't they do something about it? They've done all these crappy attempts at comic book film adaptations. What can we do different? Why don't we just re-release this thing? ~ Richard Donner
Comic Strips quotes by Richard Donner
Each of us is in the world for no very long time, and within the few years of his life has to acquire whatever he is to know of this strange planet and its place in the universe. To ignore our opportunities for knowledge, imperfect as they are, is like going to the theatre and not listening to the play. The world is full of things that are tragic or comic, heroic or bizarre or surprising, and those who fail to be interested in the spectacle that it offers are forgoing one of the privileges that life has to offer. ~ Bertrand Russell
Comic Strips quotes by Bertrand Russell
I wouldn't ever presume to say that I am a comic book fan. ~ Ray Stevenson
Comic Strips quotes by Ray Stevenson
At the end of the day I have many answers for it. It has to do with my mom, who was an extraordinary woman, and a great feminist. It has to do with the people in my life. It has to do with a lot of different things, but
I don't know! Because I'm not just writing from the female characters for other people. I have a desire to see them in our culture
that was not met for most of my childhood. Except occasionally by James Cameron.
[From the 2011 San Diego Comic Con, in response to being asked why he writes strong female characters.] ~ Joss Whedon
Comic Strips quotes by Joss Whedon
Most people haven't seen my dramatic work, but I did 10 years of theater before I ever became a comic. I'm just better known for comedy. ~ Deirdre O'Kane
Comic Strips quotes by Deirdre O'Kane
Sometimes the gravest things must, of necessity, become the most comic. It's how we know they haven't destroyed us. ~ Foz Meadows
Comic Strips quotes by Foz Meadows
I believe the root of all happiness on this earth to lie in the realization of a spiritual life with a consciousness of something wider than materialism; in the capacity to live in a world that makes you unselfish because you are not overanxious about your own comic fallibilities; that gives you tranquility without complacency because you believe in something so much larger than yourself. ~ Hugh Walpole
Comic Strips quotes by Hugh Walpole
The dude feels right fatherly. Takes her down to the crick to wash the underground off of her. Just can't bring himself to shoot her while she's filthy and starving. There's time. Offers her a cake of French-milled soap he brought all the way out from Chicago. Smells like gardenias if you know your flowers, and the dude does. Snow White knows something's skewed but she grabs it, strips off like it's nothing and climbs in the water. She don't shiver even though that stream has to be as cold as a wagon tire. The miner's crud comes off her in black ribbons. The duded watches another girl come out of the blind mole-skin she was walking around it. This one has muscles like a mountain cat and a kind of pretty he doesn't know what to do with. For fairness he'd take her stepmother six days and twice on Sunday. The beauty Snow White's got has nothing to do with him. She's scarred up and suspicious an shameless. Her pretty's not for him. It's like saying the moon's got a fine figure on her. Maybe true, but what good is that to a man? ~ Catherynne M. Valente
Comic Strips quotes by Catherynne M. Valente
Superman was my first comic back in the '50s; that was me under the bedspread with the flashlight reading comic books. ~ Jok Church
Comic Strips quotes by Jok Church
Comic-Con is overwhelming when you have such a long day of press schedules. ~ Lyndsy Fonseca
Comic Strips quotes by Lyndsy Fonseca
One might almost say that to live in society today is something like living inside an enormous comic strip. ~ Jean-Luc Godard
Comic Strips quotes by Jean-Luc Godard
I'm used to comic books being reimagined, different takes on some of our beloved superheroes. ~ Len Wiseman
Comic Strips quotes by Len Wiseman
My favorite unknown movie is 'The Comic.' ~ Dick Van Dyke
Comic Strips quotes by Dick Van Dyke
She was a fairy-tale princess out of his comic book fantasies. She glowed like a star. He hated it. It made his jaw clench [ ... ]. It made him want to wreck something, punch walls, hurl plates. He wanted to drag her into a corner and rip off her glittering veil of illusions. Remind her that she was his beautiful wild animal, not this remote, perfect being. She was earth and sweat and blood and bone, she was hunger and need and howling at the moon. Just like him. Part of him. ~ Shannon McKenna
Comic Strips quotes by Shannon McKenna
My comic sense, although deliberately Americanized, is, in its intent, much closer related to the crazy wisdom of Zen monks and the goofy genius of Taoist masters than it is to, say, the satirical gibes on Saturday Night Live. It has both a literary and a metaphysical function. ~ Tom Robbins
Comic Strips quotes by Tom Robbins
I carefully lay out the provisions. One thin black sleeping bag that reflects body heat. A pack of crackers. A pack of dried beef strips. A bottle of iodine. A box of wooden matches. A small coil of wire. A pair of sunglasses. And a half-gallon plastic bottle with a cap for carrying water that's bone dry.
No water. How hard would it have been for them to fill up the bottle? ~ Suzanne Collins
Comic Strips quotes by Suzanne Collins
If you want to go on the floor, go in disguise because otherwise you won't be able to. I would just put on a full Darth Vader costume and walk through Comic-Con so I can actually check it out and enjoy it as opposed to being approached by everyone, which is lovely, but it gets very difficult to enjoy because there's so many people there. ~ Kunal Nayyar
Comic Strips quotes by Kunal Nayyar
Bram knocked, and Chas opened the door, her music growing louder. She had strips of tinfoil in her hair and a cigarette dangling from her lips–which she immediately hid behind her back when she saw Bram.
"Hiiii!"
Both of Bram's brows flitted upward. "Hi." He looked at the foil. "I'm not even gonna ask."
"Martians are trying to control my thoughts, stupid." She noticed me then and smiled. "Hi, Nora! Ooh…" Her eyes fell to the weapon. "Shiny."
"Nora needs some more appropriate clothes if she's to use the shiny," Bram said.
Chas clapped her hands together. "Makeover!"
Oh, God no.… ~ Lia Habel
Comic Strips quotes by Lia Habel
The truth is that Ron is my hero. He's always there for his friends - sometimes belligerently, but there nevertheless. He's also the comic relief in stressful situations; the funny guy with a great one-liner. And no matter how scared he may be, he will put aside his fears to support and protect the people he loves. To me, that represents true courage. ~ Rupert Grint
Comic Strips quotes by Rupert Grint
I just use my life story as a kind of device on which to hang comic observations. It's not my interest or instinct to tell the world anything pertinent about myself or my family. ~ Bill Bryson
Comic Strips quotes by Bill Bryson
