The more contact people have with each other, the more opportunities both have to do things in their own way and be misunderstood. The only way they know of to solve problems is to talk things out, but if different ways of talking are causing a problem, talking more isn't likely to solve it. Instead, trying harder usually means doing more of whatever you're doing - intensifying the style that is causing the other to react. So each unintentionally drives the other to do more and more of the opposing behavior, in a spiral that drives them both up the wall. ~ Deborah Tannen
Solve Problems quotes by Deborah Tannen
Once you become aware of what means the most to you, you're less likely to put off something that's really valuable for something that matters much less ... it's knowing the difference between what's important and what isn't that allows us to solve problems effectively. ~ Joy Browne
Solve Problems quotes by Joy Browne
Good leaders come together to solve problems in order to make a peaceful coexistence, but just a single soul can become the leathery meat in the soup. ~ Michael Bassey Johnson
Solve Problems quotes by Michael Bassey Johnson
The secret to life is to put yourself in the right lighting. For some, it's a Broadway spotlight; for others, a lamplit desk. Use your natural powers
of persistence, concentration, and insight
to do work you love and work that matters. Solve problems. make art, think deeply. ~ Susan Cain
Solve Problems quotes by Susan Cain
What is a career, actually? Nobody can destroy my career. Only I can destroy my career, if I am a bad conductor. I've gone to lesser known orchestras in Scotland and Sweden, Detroit, but I have enjoyed the places I've been, and had success. I like the close community relations, and to solve problems. ~ Neeme Jarvi
Solve Problems quotes by Neeme Jarvi
If I were to ask about my seven months at the Abbey, "Did it work, did I solve my problems?" the simple answer would be, "It did not work, it did not solve my problems." And I know that a year, two years, or even a lifetime as a Trappist monk would not have "worked" either. Because a monastery is not built to solve problems but to praise the Lord in the midst of them. ~ Henri J.M. Nouwen
Solve Problems quotes by Henri J.M. Nouwen
Developing a skill is painful, though. It is difficult. And that's part of the satisfaction. You will only find meaning in what you struggle with. What you struggle to get good at next may not seem the exact right thing for you at first. With time and effort, however, you will discover new possibilities in yourself-an ability to solve problems, for instance, or to communicate, or to create beauty ... ~ Atul Gawande
Solve Problems quotes by Atul Gawande
I believe strongly that we need to get beyond rhetoric, beyond industry and environmentalists fighting with each other, and seriously solve problems. ~ Gale Norton
Solve Problems quotes by Gale Norton
the person with the ability, knowledge, or creativity to solve problems will see more opportunities than ever. ~ Robert T. Kiyosaki
Solve Problems quotes by Robert T. Kiyosaki
Life is like mathematics,
with full of problems,
More you solve problems,
more you become expert,
Once you become expert,
you enjoy solving problems,
Once you enjoy solving problem,
you demand more problem of all type.
No matter wherever one goes,
there will be problems (opportunity)
One who loves to solve problems
is real mathematician. ~ V.B. Jadhav
Solve Problems quotes by V.B. Jadhav
We can't expect to solve problems if all we do is tear each other down. You can disagree with a certain policy without demonizing the person who espouses it. ~ Barack Obama
Solve Problems quotes by Barack Obama
Al had expected his dad to lecture him about never turning to drink to solve problems. Instead, he'd commiserated that sometimes you need to get really pissed so your body feels as bad as your heart does. Once every fiber of your being feels like bloody hell, you can start mending the broken bits one day a time. ~ Amy E. Reichert
Solve Problems quotes by Amy E. Reichert
That's all it took to solve problems - just sense. ~ Gary Paulsen
Solve Problems quotes by Gary Paulsen
Cinderella does not represent contemporary girls.

Today's girls are no 'damsels-in-distress.' They figure and solve problems, invent solutions, and herald in the new world order. ~ Tina Sequeira
Solve Problems quotes by Tina Sequeira
I think with a lot of filmmakers, their first film is their best film because they had to think on their feet and solve problems with ingenuity. ~ Peter Dinklage
Solve Problems quotes by Peter Dinklage
The computer was born to solve problems that did not exist before. ~ Bill Gates
Solve Problems quotes by Bill Gates
I wanted to tell you that art is the most harmless activity of mankind. But I suddenly recalled that art was often used for propaganda purposes by totalitarian systems. I wanted to tell you about the extraordinary sensitivity of an artist, but I recalled that Hitler was a painter and Stalin used to write sonnets...
"Each scientific discovery opens doors behind which we are confronted with new closed doors. Art does not solve problems but makes us aware of their existence... ~ Magdalena Abakanowicz
Solve Problems quotes by Magdalena Abakanowicz
People who can solve problems in a new way are the innovators. ~ Pearl Zhu
Solve Problems quotes by Pearl Zhu
Specialists will continue to lose not because of automation, but because of the imprisonment of industrial isolation.

Leaders and innovators who stay relevant see the interconnectedness of a broad use of skillsets that specialists can't see and use creativity to solve problems in times of complexity. ~ Richie Norton
Solve Problems quotes by Richie Norton
Management cannot solve problems. Nor can it stir creativity of any sort. It can only manage what it is given. If asked to do more, it will deform whatever is put into its hands. ~ John Ralston Saul
Solve Problems quotes by John Ralston Saul
It would be very peculiar if a very general mental capability that, among other things, involves the ability to reason, plan, solve problems, think abstractly, comprehend complexities, learn quickly, and benefit from experience, did not have very important implications. ~ Hans Jurgen Eysenck
Solve Problems quotes by Hans Jurgen Eysenck
To put it simply, we need to keep the arts in education because they instill in students the habits of mind that last a lifetime: critical analysis skills, the ability to deal with ambiguity and to solve problems, perseverance and a drive for excellence. Moreover, the creative skills children develop through the arts carry them toward new ideas, new experiences, and new challenges, not to mention personal satisfaction. This is the intrinsic value of the arts, and it cannot be overestimated. ~ Rod Paige
Solve Problems quotes by Rod Paige
Most people use their minds to solve problems way less often than they use their minds to create problems. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Solve Problems quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
While ritual, emotion and reasoning are all significant aspects of human nature, the most nearly unique human characteristic is the ability to associate abstractly and to reason. Curiosity and the urge to solve problems are the emotional hallmarks of our species; and the most characteristically human activities are mathematics, science, technology, music and the arts
a somewhat broader range of subjects than is usually included under the "humanities." Indeed, in its common usage this very word seems to reflect a peculiar narrowness of vision about what is human. Mathematics is as much a "humanity" as poetry. ~ Carl Sagan
Solve Problems quotes by Carl Sagan
The rights of copyright holders need to be protected, but some draconian remedies that have been suggested would create more problems than they would solve. ~ Patrick Leahy
Solve Problems quotes by Patrick Leahy
My comedy isn't going to solve problems; I'm not that deep. ~ Gary Owens
Solve Problems quotes by Gary Owens
While I do not think it was so intended I have always been of the opinion that this turned out to be much the best for me. I had no national experience. What I have ever been able to do has been the result of first learning how to do it. I am not gifted with intuition. I need not only hard work but experience to be ready to solve problems. The Presidents who have gone to Washington without first having held some national office have been at great disadvantage. ~ Calvin Coolidge
Solve Problems quotes by Calvin Coolidge
If you read Calvin, for example, he says, How do we know that we are godlike, in the image of God? Well, look at how brilliant we are. Look how we can solve problems even dreaming, which I think is true, which I've done myself. So instead of having an externalized model of reality with an objective structure, it has a model of reality that is basically continuously renegotiated in human perception. I think that view of things is pretty pervasively influential in Protestant thought. ~ Marilynne Robinson
Solve Problems quotes by Marilynne Robinson
It is in our lowest moods, when we are least equipped to do so, that we are tempted to try to solve problems or resolve issues with others. ~ Richard Carlson
Solve Problems quotes by Richard Carlson
At X-Feer, we teach how to solve problems not how to write a code because that's the most important thing in coding. ~ Ahmed Abu Taha
Solve Problems quotes by Ahmed Abu Taha
Girls ... were allowed to play in the house ... and boys were sent outdoors ... Boys ran around in the yard with toy guns going kksshh-kksshh, fighting wars for made-up reasons and arguing about who was dead, while girls stayed inside and played with dolls, creating complex family groups and learning how to solve problems through negotiation and roleplaying. Which gender is better equipped, on the whole, to live an adult life, would you guess? ~ Garrison Keillor
Solve Problems quotes by Garrison Keillor
On a cohesive team, leaders are not there simply to represent the departments that they lead and manage but rather to solve problems that stand in the way of achieving success for the whole organization. That means they'll readily offer up their departments' resources when it serves the greater good of the team, and they'll take an active interest in the thematic goal regardless of how closely related it is to their functional area. ~ Patrick Lencioni
Solve Problems quotes by Patrick Lencioni
Our understanding of what the mind is matters deeply. Our most basic philosophical beliefs are tied inextricably to our view of reason. Reason has been taken for over two millennia as the defining characteristic of human beings. Reason includes not only our capacity for logical inference, but also our ability to conduct inquiry, to solve problems, to evaluate, to criticize, to deliberate about how we should act, and to reach an understanding of ourselves, other people, and the world. A radical change in our understanding of reason is therefore a radical change in our understanding of ourselves. It is surprising to discover, on the basis of empirical research, that human rationality is not at all what the Western philosophical tradition has held it to be. But it is shocking to discover that we are very different from what our philosophical tradition has told us we are. ~ George Lakoff
Solve Problems quotes by George Lakoff
And so I think that the idea of America working with other countries to solve problems is good for us, and it is part of digging us out of the 'my way or the highway' approach that was evident in the previous eight years. ~ Madeleine Albright
Solve Problems quotes by Madeleine Albright
For any kind of problem, we must first undoubtedly believe that we can absolutely solve it! Then, the solution will come; it is our determination and our utter belief on this matter that shall bring the solution! ~ Mehmet Murat Ildan
Solve Problems quotes by Mehmet Murat Ildan
The new OS is neither the classic communism of centralized planning without private property nor the undiluted selfish chaos of a free market. Instead, it is an emerging design space in which decentralized public coordination can solve problems and create things that neither pure communism nor pure capitalism can. ~ Kevin Kelly
Solve Problems quotes by Kevin Kelly
I like to figure things out and solve problems. ~ Temple Grandin
Solve Problems quotes by Temple Grandin
Genuine confidence is a way of thinking about yourself and your abilities. Confidence is your perception of your own potential; it's a kind of long-term thinking that powers you through the obstacles and tough times, helping you solve problems and putting you in the way of success. Your confidence is quite a separate matter from your social skills. ~ John Eliot
Solve Problems quotes by John Eliot
I think the church is often a culprit in the busyness, especially in the evangelical church. Again, it's part of being Americans. Part of being evangelicals too is that we're highly activist. We are always diving in, willing to solve problems, and again there's a lot good there. But we also need the theological balance that the Kingdom is not ours to bring or ours to create. ~ Kevin DeYoung
Solve Problems quotes by Kevin DeYoung
When I got home, I thought about the fact that Einstein supposedly used to stock his wardrobe with the same suits and shoes so he'd never have to think about what he was going to wear. I lack the intellect it takes to solve problems that way. I've advanced nothing in the field of psychology, and my paper on PTSD was given little attention; I wrote that psychological disorders with a genetic link, such as borderline personality disorder, might seem impossible to treat, while PTSD, which is based in trauma that has been experienced, seems easy to tackle, at least to the layperson. The opposite is true. It can be difficult to find the right medication for genetic disorders, but they can be sufficiently treated. Conversely, PTSD never goes away. One might think that our genes are so elementary that we cannot escape them, but our experiences have the ability to do far greater damage. ~ Bryan Way
Solve Problems quotes by Bryan Way
Displaced workers, along with others who fear for their livelihood, are fertile ground in which to sow anti-immigrant sentiment, since angry and frustrated people often seek some target on which to blame their problems. The right wing has organized and manipulated such anger and resentment, turned it away from corporations, and directed it against the government, decrying high taxes and the inability of the state to solve problems such as social deterioration, homelessness, crime, and violence. In addition to the target of "failed liberal policies," immigrants make a convenient and tangible target for people's anger. Racial prejudice is often an encoded part of the message…Right-wing populist themes are particularly effective at attracting working people disenchanted with the system. ~ Robert Wald Sussman
Solve Problems quotes by Robert Wald Sussman
I had the belief that many troubles you could observe on the European continent were due to politicians not understanding economic phenomena. Even if they had good intentions, they didn't have the skills to solve problems. ~ Leonid Hurwicz
Solve Problems quotes by Leonid Hurwicz
That's exactly why we have to have you, Colonel - to solve problems that are elementary to a man of your genius" - Ardmore felt slightly nauseated inside: this was worse than writing advertising copy - "but which are miracles for the rest of us. ~ Robert A. Heinlein
Solve Problems quotes by Robert A. Heinlein
I could try to incorporate or reflect in my models what it is that an employee, manager, or entrepreneur does: to recognize that most are engaged in their work, form expectations and evolve beliefs, solve problems, and have ideas. Trying to put these people into economic models became my project. ~ Edmund Phelps
Solve Problems quotes by Edmund Phelps
Some time ago, my son Emilio was going back to school after vacation. He did not like the idea at all and was filled with anxiety. To him, the approach of school days was like a monster that threatened him and wanted to squash him. What is a parent supposed to do? I tried to lift his spirits, to distract him, convince him it was not as bad as it seemed, but in vain. Then I hit upon the idea of offering him something that is almost taboo in our family: French fries at a fast-food place. Usually anything that is prohibited appeals to Emilio, especially junk food. I thought I had the ace up my sleeve. But no. Emilio's reply ought to be chiseled in stone: "Dad, you don't solve problems with french fries."

Touche. You don't pretend problems do not exist, and you can't solve them with ephemeral distractions. You have to face them with open-eyed honesty. Offering French fries to my son in order to console and distract him from his anxiety was by no means a kind act. I was simply choosing the easier option--far too easy. I had found a comfortable way out. ~ Piero Ferrucci
Solve Problems quotes by Piero Ferrucci
TIME. If you can master the art of dealing with it and make use of it to pray, to love, to care, to heal wounds, to solve problems, to be patience, to find the purpose of life, to wait for something worth waiting for, to chase your dreams, to be kind, to have fun, to be happy, to help people and to understand yourself..TIME is the essence of life..Dont waste it but live it ~ Anto Setiadi ~ Anto Setiadi
Solve Problems quotes by Anto Setiadi
Well, I think everybody is frustrated by the finances of the U.N. and the inability to solve problems of war and peace. ~ George H. W. Bush
Solve Problems quotes by George H. W. Bush
If all else fails, try to get some sleep…whether you realize it or not, getting enough sleep can make it easier to solve problems, control your emotions, and cope with change. ~ Beverly K. Bachel
Solve Problems quotes by Beverly K. Bachel
We are built to conquer environment, solve problems, achieve goals, and we find no real satisfaction or happiness in life without obstacles to conquer and goals to achieve. ~ Maxwell Maltz
Solve Problems quotes by Maxwell Maltz
Government does not solve problems. It subsidizes them. ~ Ronald Reagan
Solve Problems quotes by Ronald Reagan
What is the central core of the subject [computer science]? What is it that distinguishes it from the separate subjects with which it is related? What is the linking thread which gathers these disparate branches into a single discipline. My answer to these questions is simple -it is the art of programming a computer. It is the art of designing efficient and elegant methods of getting a computer to solve problems, theoretical or practical, small or large, simple or complex. It is the art of translating this design into an effective and accurate computer program. ~ Tony Hoare
Solve Problems quotes by Tony Hoare
God has not given us the spirit of fear. He has given us the spirit of Love and a competent mind.
Love conquers fear, because Love has Power, that creates a competent mind, that allows a person to make rational decisions and use righteous judgment to resolve or solve problems.

Through this God-given process, we are able to endure and persevere in times of hardships, and when facing a crisis. When our spirit is broken by hate, and heavy loads are placed upon us, we turn to God for strength in our storms of life. And we seek his Love to restore us to wholeness. He restores us with Hope. From within him we receive Love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance as it is noted in Galatians 5:22.

Because of God's Love for us, we are able to have the patience to wait for his Power to restore us so that we are in control of our mind to over-power fear and to lead a successful life to meet our goals and create a greater opportunity filled with his blessings.

He has created us to be a victorious people. Therefore, we are able to create far greater opportunities through Love.

God gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. (Isaiah 40:29)

When we are broken by the storms of life, God's Love restore us. We bow before him, in a humble spirit at his throne of grace, and ask in prayer for mercy and renewed strength. It is here that we find the needed strength t ~ Ellen J. Barrier
Solve Problems quotes by Ellen J. Barrier
I'm a proud Republican - there's no issue with that at all, so why can't I be a proud Republican and just try to solve problems? ~ Rick Snyder
Solve Problems quotes by Rick Snyder
Liberals like using government to solve problems in OUR country and conservatives are using our government to solve problems in OTHER countries. ~ Matthew Lesko
Solve Problems quotes by Matthew Lesko
Governments tend not to solve problems, only to rearrange them. ~ Ronald Reagan
Solve Problems quotes by Ronald Reagan
The problem with most smart people is that they are too dumb to distinguish necessity from luxury, that's why despite having the resources to deal with real problems that cause misery to humanity, they keep wasting those resources on pompous dreams. And you can have first-hand experience with such stupidity if you visit any CES event. Whether it is smart toilet or smart underwear, there is no end to intellectual, wealthy and pompous stupidity. Silicon Valley is no longer the valley of innovators who solve problems, it has turned into the valley of resourceful stupidity. They are a bunch of people wasting resources on creating products that do nothing more than fuel the predominant neurosis of consumerism. ~ Abhijit Naskar
Solve Problems quotes by Abhijit Naskar
Try to look at causes and solve problems. Do not concentrate on military solutions. Do not seek military solutions. Terrorism is a political problem. Seek political solutions. Diplomacy works. ~ Eqbal Ahmed
Solve Problems quotes by Eqbal Ahmed
The best episodes of 'The West Wing' that dealt with policy and stuff, in my opinion, were the ones where they were in the middle of a crisis, and they were trying to figure out how to solve problems. ~ Michael Schur
Solve Problems quotes by Michael Schur
We often try to solve problems by creating more problems. ~ Debasish Mridha
Solve Problems quotes by Debasish Mridha
Don't solve problems. Pursue opportunities. ~ Peter Drucker
Solve Problems quotes by Peter Drucker
Millions of Americans would still despair in the eight long years of the Depression that lay ahead and many of their individual dreams would be dashed on the rocks of economic hardship. But collectively, the country was in a new place, with a new confidence that the federal government would actively try to solve problems rather than fiddle or cater to the rich. Hope was no longer for Pollyannas; the cynics about the American system were in retreat. ~ Jonathan Alter
Solve Problems quotes by Jonathan Alter
The past two decades revolutionized the way we access information. You and I can have our questions answered with the click of a mouse at any time of day. If America, both corporation and citizen alike, can use these services to solve problems, why can't Washington? ~ J. C. Watts
Solve Problems quotes by J. C. Watts
I mean, I'm a big believer in talking to people when you can and trying to solve problems when you can. ~ Hillary Clinton
Solve Problems quotes by Hillary Clinton
Or to put it another way, our children and our grandchildren are less literate and less numerate than we are. They are less able to navigate the world, to understand it to solve problems. They can be more easily lied to and misled, will be less able to change the world in which they find themselves, be less employable. All of these things. And as a country, England will fall behind other developed nations because it will lack a skilled workforce. And while politicians blame the other party for these results, the truth is, we need to teach our children to read and to enjoy reading. We ~ Neil Gaiman
Solve Problems quotes by Neil Gaiman
Simon did not solve problems, he just shamed them into going away. ~ Sorin Suciu
Solve Problems quotes by Sorin Suciu
The brain appears to be designed to (1) solve problems (2) related to surviving (3) in an unstable outdoor environment, and (4) to do so in nearly constant motion. I call this the brain's performance envelope. ~ John Medina
Solve Problems quotes by John Medina
The rate of change and innovation occurring across the entire spectrum of society demands that a company like XL utilize the highest level of analytics and information to solve problems for our clients. ~ Mike McGavick
Solve Problems quotes by Mike McGavick
The future mathematician ... should solve problems, choose the problems which are in his line, meditate upon their solution, and invent new problems. By this means, and by all other means, he should endeavor to make his first important discovery: he should discover his likes and dislikes, his taste, his own line. ~ George Polya
Solve Problems quotes by George Polya
The good words we speak are powerful, motivating and inspiring, they can travel to places we can't go, to solve problems, resolve conflicts, comfort and liberate in times of pain, sorrow and trouble. ~ Bamigboye Olurotimi
Solve Problems quotes by Bamigboye Olurotimi
In Oklahoma, the CEO of the company that makes McDonald's apple pies told me that she had trouble finding enough Americans to handle modern factory jobs-during a recession. The days of rolling out dough and packing pies in a box were over. She needed people who could read, solve problems and communicate what had happened on their shift, and there weren't enough of them coming out of Oklahoma's high schools and community colleges. ~ Amanda Ripley
Solve Problems quotes by Amanda Ripley
Children model the behavior of adults, on whatever scale is available to them. Ours are growing up in a nation whose most important, influential men - from presidents to the coolest film characters - solve problems by killing people ... We have taught our children in a thousand ways, sometimes with flag-waving and sometimes with a laugh track, that the bad guy deserves to die. ~ Barbara Kingsolver
Solve Problems quotes by Barbara Kingsolver
As society changes, laws have to change to protect citizens along the way. Sometimes you have to try new and different and creative ways to solve problems. You have to take some risks. ~ John Rowland
Solve Problems quotes by John Rowland
What does literature do for me? I think I solve problems in my writing. They may be my problems, but perhaps others share them, and in the process of working these through, I hope to entertain. ~ Sabina Murray
Solve Problems quotes by Sabina Murray
As competition intensifies, the need for creative thinking increases. It is no longer enough to do the same thing better ... no longer enough to be efficient and solve problems. ~ Edward De Bono
Solve Problems quotes by Edward De Bono
What do lawyers learn in law school? They learn to win ... What we've got to start thinking about is how do we solve problems. ~ Ben Carson
Solve Problems quotes by Ben Carson
To live is to have problems and to solve problems is to to grow intellectually. ~ J. P. Guilford
Solve Problems quotes by J. P. Guilford
People who solve problems are happier. ~ Jim McKelvey
Solve Problems quotes by Jim McKelvey
The desire for everything to run smoothly is a false goal - it leads to measuring people by the mistakes they make rather than by their ability to solve problems. ~ Ed Catmull
Solve Problems quotes by Ed Catmull
Despite what your momma told you, Violence does solve problems, ~ Chris Kyle
Solve Problems quotes by Chris Kyle
Robert Sternberg is a professor of psychology at Tufts University and a past president of the American Psychological Association. He is a long-term critic of traditional approaches to intelligence testing and IQ. He argues that there are three types of intelligence: analytic intelligence, the ability to solve problems using academic skills and to complete conventional IQ tests; creative intelligence, the ability to deal with novel situations and to come up with original solutions; and practical intelligence, the ability to deal with problems and challenges in everyday life. ~ Ken Robinson
Solve Problems quotes by Ken Robinson
One of the strange laws of the contemplative life is that in it you do not sit down and solve problems: you bear with them until they somehow solve themselves. ~ Thomas Merton
Solve Problems quotes by Thomas Merton
Curiosity and the urge to solve problems are the emotional hallmarks of our species ... ~ Carl Sagan
Solve Problems quotes by Carl Sagan
People rely on intelligence to solve problems, and they are naturally baffled when comprehension proves impotent to effect emotional change. To the neocortical brain, rich in the power of abstractions, understanding makes all the difference, but it doesn't count for much in the neural systems that evolved before understanding existed. Ideas bounce like so many peas off the sturdy incomprehension of the limbic and reptilian brains. The dogged implicitness of emotional knowledge, its relentless unreasoning force, prevents logic from granting salvation just as it precludes self-help books from helping. The sheer volume and variety of self-help paraphernalia testify at once to the vastness of the appetite they address and their inability to satisfy it. (118) ~ Thomas Lewis
Solve Problems quotes by Thomas Lewis
You will never solve problems unless you face them head on. ~ Ziad K. Abdelnour
Solve Problems quotes by Ziad K. Abdelnour
The genesis of a poem for me is usually a cluster of words. The only good metaphor I can think of is a scientific one: dipping a thread into a supersaturated solution to induce crystal formation. I don't think I solve problems in my poetry; I think I uncover the problems. ~ Margaret Atwood
Solve Problems quotes by Margaret Atwood
Writing gives me the opportunity to explore ideas, play with language, solve problems, use my imagination, and draw on my own childhood. ~ Jack Prelutsky
Solve Problems quotes by Jack Prelutsky
There was a sort of irony in the fact that these [superhero] characters - many of whom in that period, the Golden Age, had been evolved to fight the Nazis - were themselves very much in the Nazi ideal. The idea that you can solve problems through physical strength, by being stronger and more dominant and more powerful - that is fascism. I mean, that's it, that's the essence of fascism. I don't think the creators of the superheroes or the kids who were reading them at the time were the slightest bit aware of it. ~ Michael Chabon
Solve Problems quotes by Michael Chabon
Perhaps I was mad, as I thought at moments; perhaps I was not like other men? But I was able to do the same things the others did; with a little effort and industry I could read Plato, was able to solve problems in trigonometry or follow a chemical analysis. These was only one thing I could not do: wrest the dark secret goal from myself and keep it before me as others did who knew exactly what they wanted to be- professors, lawyers, doctors, artists, however long this would take them and whatever difficulties and advantages this decision would bear in its wake. This I could not do. Perhaps I would become something similar but how was I to know? Perhaps I would have to continue my search for years on end and would not become anything, and would not reach a goal. Perhaps I would reach this goal but it would turn out to be an evil, dangerous, horrible one? ~ Hermann Hesse
Solve Problems quotes by Hermann Hesse
More than money, talent, or your number of contacts, your capacity to create mutuality with others can transform you into a sought-after Opportunity Maker with whom people most want to align. Be the glue that sticks the right teams together to solve problems or seize opportunities sooner and better together. ~ Kare Anderson
Solve Problems quotes by Kare Anderson
After your first job, is anyone asking you what your GPA was? No, they don't care. They ask you: Are you a good leader? Do people follow you? Do you have integrity? Are you innovative? Do you solve problems? Somebody's got to do that homework and redesign the educational system so that it can actually train people to be successful in life ~ Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Solve Problems quotes by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Intelligence uses knowledge to solve problems. More people can be proud of knowledge they have - fewer with intelligence. Everyone can get knowledge by holding one's attention for three seconds to gather it. Intelligence may require more than three seconds. ~ Thomas Vato
Solve Problems quotes by Thomas Vato
Gamers co-author the games they play by the choices they make and how they choose to solve problems, since what they do can affect the course and sometimes the outcome of the game. ~ James Paul Gee
Solve Problems quotes by James Paul Gee
Digital does not work well in a world of departmental divisions. People need to sit together, work together, and solve problems together. ~ Paul Boag
Solve Problems quotes by Paul Boag
What manner of men had lived in those days...who had so eagerly surrendered their sovereignty for a lie and a delusion? Why had they been so anxious to believe that the government could solve problems for them which had been pridefully solved, many times over, by their fathers? Had their characters become so weak and debased, so craven and emasculated, that offers of government dole had become more important than their liberty and their humanity? Had they not know that power delegated to the government becomes the club of tyrants? They must have known. They had their own history to remember, and the history of five thousand years. Yet, they had willingly and knowingly, with all this knowledge, declared themselves unfit to manage their own affairs and had placed their lives, which belonged to God only, in the hands of sinister men who had long plotted to enslave them, by wars, by "directives," by "emergencies." In the name of the American people, the American people had been made captive. ~ Taylor Caldwell
Solve Problems quotes by Taylor Caldwell
To fight adversity, to improvise, to solve problems, and to save the coup, I had gathered all my senses into unusual configurations, which made me grow wild and enhanced my perceptions. ~ Philippe Petit
Solve Problems quotes by Philippe Petit
Many families are managed on the basis of crises, moods, quick fixes, and instant gratification - not on sound principles. Symptoms surface whenever stress and pressure mount: people become cynical, critical, or silent or they start yelling and overreacting. Children who observe these kinds of behavior grow up thinking the only way to solve problems is flight or fight. ~ Stephen R. Covey
Solve Problems quotes by Stephen R. Covey
Imagery exposure is a technique in which you vividly recall a situation you've been ruminating about, such as a colleague pointing out an embarrassing error you made. You can also use imagery exposure for a worry thought (something that hasn't happened yet).
To start, recall all the sights and sounds of the past situation (or feared situation) in as much detail as you can. For example, if you're recalling a situation that has happened, you might recall turning bright red with embarrassment and the other people looking at you strangely or laughing. You would also recall details like what the room looked like, what the temperature was, whether the sun was streaming in through the window, and so on. Bring the image of the embarrassing or worry situation vividly to mind.
The following is based on the principle that anxiety symptoms will naturally subside if you don't use escape or avoidance strategies: Deliberately keep the image in mind until your anxiety falls to half of where it started (or less). For example, if vividly recalling the situation triggers 8 out of 10 anxiety initially, hold the image in mind until your anxiety drops to about a level 4. Repeat the imagery exposure exercise at least once a day until you can bring the image to mind without it triggering more than about half of the peak anxiety you experienced the first time you tried imagery exposure.
Exposure techniques like this are some of the most powerful ways to solve problems with intrusive ~ Alice Boyes
Solve Problems quotes by Alice Boyes
You can't solve problems until you understand the other side." –Jeffrey Manber ~ Ron Garan
Solve Problems quotes by Ron Garan
Marriage is an attempt to solve problems together which you didn't even have when you were on your own. ~ Eddie Cantor
Solve Problems quotes by Eddie Cantor
You have been given a mind to solve problems for others,
a heart to feel compassion for others,
a mouth to speak kind words to others,
ears to hear the plight of others,
eyes to look out for others,
and hands to sustain others. ~ Matshona Dhliwayo
