First at the outset, let me commend the great men and women of the United States Coast Guard for what they do. ~ Vito Fossella
Do Women quotes by Vito Fossella
It ought to be a criminal offence for women to dye their hair. Especially red. What the devil do women do that sort of thing for? ~ P.G. Wodehouse
Do Women quotes by P.G. Wodehouse
As they embrace, she kisses him full on the mouth. And suddenly sticks her tongue right in. She has done this before, often. It's one of those drunken long shots which just might, at least theoretically, once in ten thousand tries, throw a relationship right out of its orbit and send it whizzing off on another. Do women ever stop trying? No. But, because they never stop, they learn to be good losers. ~ Christopher Isherwood
Do Women quotes by Christopher Isherwood
Why do women always look so funny alone at night? she thought. I guess you're so used to seeing them with someone. ~ Shirley Jackson
Do Women quotes by Shirley Jackson
Often, though, the passivity of the woman's role weighs on me, suffocates me. Rather than wait for his pleasure, I would like to take it, to run wild. Is it that which pushes me into lesbianism? It terrifies me. Do women act thus? Does June go to Henry when she wants him? Does she mount him? Does she wait for him? He guides my inexperienced hands. It is like a forest fire, to be with him. New places of my body are aroused and burnt. He is incendiary. I leave him in an unquenchable fever. ~ Anais Nin
Do Women quotes by Anais Nin
I think all my work's been about how do women get back into our bodies; how do men get back. We're all disassociated. ~ Eve Ensler
Do Women quotes by Eve Ensler
I think all women should be able to make it on their own," Frankie said. "It's not about needing a man
or not - it just means she knows she can do whatever she sets out to do. ~ Lindsay Smith
Do Women quotes by Lindsay Smith
Why do women get paid less money? It doesn't make any sense. ~ Val Kilmer
Do Women quotes by Val Kilmer
At the BBC we've had plenty of women in good management jobs. It comes and goes but there's been plenty. On air, I think there's quite a bit more we can do. ~ Evan Davis
Do Women quotes by Evan Davis
Aren't women prudes if they don't and prostitutes if they do? ~ Kate Millett
Do Women quotes by Kate Millett
So in considering the writings of Paul, the question is not, Are head coverings good or bad? The question is, in that context, Did head coverings help or hurt the advancement of the gospel and the preservation of unity? The question is not, Should Christians eat meat? but rather, in that context, Did eating meat help or hurt the advancement of the gospel and the preservation of unity? And as we consider the application of Paul's teachings in our various contexts today, the question is not, Should women be allowed to preach? but Do women preachers help or hurt the advancement of the gospel and the preservation of unity? Paul was smart enough to know the answers to these questions would vary from church to church and person to person, so surely he was smart enough to also know they would vary from culture to culture and century to century. Was Paul a man of his time? Of course. But that's exactly the point. God meets us where we are, as we are. The Spirit shows up in the thick of it. ~ Rachel Held Evans
Do Women quotes by Rachel Held Evans
What are you doin', man?" Scott's voice came from the doorway.

I turned and smiled. "Just thinking."

"You seem a little brighter."

"Actually, I was thinking about how I ended up thirty-six, divorced, and trapped in cubicle hell."

He walked to the coffeepot and poured a mug full then leaned against the counter. "You were a workaholic?" he offered.

"That's not why Elizabeth was unfaithful. She fell right into Brad's skinny arms, and he works more than I do. Hell, Elizabeth works more than I do."

"Why are you dwelling on the past? Look at you. You're tall. You have hair. And it looks like" - he waved his hand around at my stomach - "you might have abs?"

"You checking me out?"

"I'd kill for a head of hair like that."

Scott was the kind of guy who was bald by twenty-two. He's been shaving it Mr. Clean–style since then.

"What do women call that thing?" He pointed to the back of my head.

"A bun?"

"No, there's, like, a sexier name for it. The ladies love that shit."

"They call it a man-bun. ~ Renee Carlino
Do Women quotes by Renee Carlino
Most of us believe that women can do what men do. The challenge is to convince employers, legislators, mothers, that men can do what women do. ~ Karen DeCrow
Do Women quotes by Karen DeCrow
Why do women love to talk about love?" Giorgio asks. "Why don't men, is more the question," Ana says. ~ Don Winslow
Do Women quotes by Don Winslow
For there is much to do, amounting in fact to a remaking of modern society. All democratic experiments, all revolutions, all demands for equality have so far, in every instance, stopped short of sexual equality. Every society has in its prestige structures a series of subtle, interacting codes of dominance that always, everywhere, finally rank men higher than women. Nowhere has any society successfully dispensed with the age-old sex-role division of labor and the rewards in goods and power that accompany it. Nowhere do women enjoy the rights, privileges, possibilities and leisure time that men do. Everywhere men still mediate between women and power, women and the state, women and freedom, women and themselves. ~ Rosalind Miles
Do Women quotes by Rosalind Miles
Know what Freud wrote in his diary when he was 77? "What do women want? My God, what do they want?" Fifty years this giant brain spends analyzing women. And he still can't find out what they want. So this makes him the world's greatest expert on female psychology? ~ Clare Boothe Luce
Do Women quotes by Clare Boothe Luce
People don't want to see women doing things they don't think women should do. ~ Joan Jett
Do Women quotes by Joan Jett
Girls, I think. Why do women refer to themselves as girls? It's so weird ~ Dawn O'Porter
Do Women quotes by Dawn O'Porter
Some actors wear their roles like clothing," he said. "No matter what part they're playing, you can always easily see who it is beneath the costume."
"It's how drag queens do women, darling," volunteered the elegant Miss X.
[ ... ]
"The really amazing actors strip themselves down to nothing-they make themselves a blank slate, and you can never guess what they're going to look like or act like in their next film because they completely transform themselves."
"It's how transsexuals do women, darling," opined Doris Fish with an arched eyebrow in my direction. ~ Kate Bornstein
Do Women quotes by Kate Bornstein
It is the worst thing you can do, women, is whine, .. I mean the worst. Don't complain, protest. ~ Maya Angelou
Do Women quotes by Maya Angelou
I'm not actually very good at the maintenance thing. I don't buff, exfoliate, pluck, rinse, moisturise, suck, bleach ... whatever all those women do. ~ Isla Fisher
Do Women quotes by Isla Fisher
Religion, society and state - from none of these do women get their proper honor. It is religion, which has created an unparalleled disparity between men and women. ~ Taslima Nasrin
Do Women quotes by Taslima Nasrin

We're showing kids a world that is very scantily populated with women and female characters. They should see female characters taking up half the planet, which we do. ~ Geena Davis
Do Women quotes by Geena Davis
Plain women know more about men than beautiful women do. ~ Katharine Hepburn
Do Women quotes by Katharine Hepburn
Look at all the things that can go wrong for men. There's the nothing-happening-at-all problem, the too-much-happening-too-soon problem, the dismal-droop-after-a-promising-beginning problem; there's the size-doesn't-matter-except-in-my-case problem, the failing-to-deliver-the-goods problem ... and what do women have to worry about? A handful of cellulite? Join the club. A spot of I-wonder-how-I-rank? Ditto. ~ Nick Hornby
Do Women quotes by Nick Hornby
Do women dress for men or women? I've always wondered why that eternally provocative question is put in terms of approval - as if the heart of the matter, the answer, were indeed a question of approval by either sex. But the question is never satisfactorily answered because it is incorrectly posed. It's disapproval, the fear of it, that motivates most women, and with disapproval it doesn't matter where it comes from. ~ Nancy Friday
Do Women quotes by Nancy Friday
How do women all know what to do with babies? It's like they have their own special kind of sorcery. ~ Rae Carson
Do Women quotes by Rae Carson
What do women want?" Sigmund Freud cried. Books and cats are a good start. ~ Carole Nelson Douglas
Do Women quotes by Carole Nelson Douglas
Why the hell do women always have to bring back up? It's not as if I'm going to molest her at the opera. ~ Poppet
Do Women quotes by Poppet
I don't get it. Scratch, bite, squeal, slap. Why do women fight like that? They've got fists. It's embarrassing to our entire gender. ~ J.D. Robb
Do Women quotes by J.D. Robb
Women I know are smart, educated, intelligent, capable of doing anything that anybody else can do. ~ Mike Huckabee
Do Women quotes by Mike Huckabee
I've noticed this about new employees over the years. The women take on all the cumbersome, minor tasks without being asked, while guys never do. Doesn´t matter if they're new or the youngest - they never do anything they're not told to do. But why do women simply take things upon themselves? ~ Cho Nam-Joo
Do Women quotes by Cho Nam-Joo
I tend to dress a little more sophisticated than most women do. ~ Nicole Richie
Do Women quotes by Nicole Richie
Because, in fact, women, feminists, do read my poetry, and they read it often with the power of their political interpretation. I don't care; that's what poetry is supposed to do. ~ Diane Wakoski
Do Women quotes by Diane Wakoski
How do women still go out guys, when you consider that there is no greater threat to women than men? We're the number one threat to women! Globally, and historically one cause of injury and mayhem to women. You know what our number one threat is? Heart disease. ~ Louis C.K.
Do Women quotes by Louis C.K.
I think we're socialized out of being women, and then we have to find our way back to it. That's hard to do. ~ Olympia Dukakis
Do Women quotes by Olympia Dukakis
Perhaps well-to-do women and unemployed ghetto teenagers have something in common. Neither group has been allowed to develop the self-confidence that comes from knowing you can support yourselves. ~ Gloria Steinem
Do Women quotes by Gloria Steinem
The problem men seem to have, and women, too, is that they have this very structured idea that we should find a partner and settle down and be, you know, faithful. And yet clearly this is really, really hard for anybody to do! ~ Felicity Kendal
Do Women quotes by Felicity Kendal
You'll be happy if you'll remember that men don't change much. Women do. Women adapt themselves, and if you think that means they lose their individuality, you're wrong. Show me a happy marriage and I'll show you a clever woman. ~ Elizabeth Cadell
Do Women quotes by Elizabeth Cadell
"What is honor?" "Honor is what no man can give ya. And none can take away. Honor is man's gift to himself." "Do women have it?" "Women have a heart of honor, and we cherish and protect it in 'em. We must never mistreat a woman or malign a man, or standby and see another do so." "How do you know you have it?" "Never worry on the gift of it. It grows in ya' and speaks to ya'. All ya' need do is listen" ... ~ Rob Roy MacGregor
Do Women quotes by Rob Roy MacGregor
What do women really want? They eat green salad and drink human blood. ~ Saul Bellow
Do Women quotes by Saul Bellow
Jane Austen's characters for women are always very strong, opinionated and elegantly written, so they're always great for an actress to have a chance to do. ~ Tamsin Egerton
Do Women quotes by Tamsin Egerton
I think all women should learn how to strip. It's a really healthy, extremely challenging thing to do. ~ Sandra Oh
Do Women quotes by Sandra Oh
Men move through a much different process before commitment than women do. ~ Warren Farrell
Do Women quotes by Warren Farrell
It was called evolutionary biology. Under its sway, the sexes were separated again, men into hunters and women into gatherers. Nurture no longer formed us; nature did. Impulses of hominids dating from 20,000 B.C. were still controlling us. And so today on television and in magazines you get the current simplifications. Why can't men communicate? (Because they had to be quiet on the hunt.) Why do women communicate so well? (Because they had to call out to one another where the fruits and berries were.) Why can men never find things around the house? (Because they have a narrow field of vision, useful in tracking prey.) Why can women find things so easily? (Because in protecting the nest they were used to scanning a wide field.) Why can't women parallel-park? (Because low testosterone inhibits spatial ability.) Why won't men ask for directions? (Because asking for directions is a sign of weakness, and hunters never show weakness.) This is where we are today. Men and women, tired of being the same, want to be different again. ~ Jeffrey Eugenides
Do Women quotes by Jeffrey Eugenides
Men find it more difficult than women to be alone. They function better with someone in their lives. Being married, they are rooted, so they feel safe to go and do what they want to do. ~ Pattie Boyd
Do Women quotes by Pattie Boyd
That's why they're man's best friend. 'Cause guys want buddies that are dumber than they are. So do women, but they've already got men ~ Bill Engvall
Do Women quotes by Bill Engvall
Oprah tells women what to read, what to eat, what to think, what to do ... ~ Adam Carolla
Do Women quotes by Adam Carolla
In the sexual-liberation movement of the sixties, its ideology and practice, neither force nor the subordinate status of women was an issue. It was assumed that - unrepressed - everyone wanted intercourse all the time (men, of course, had other important things to do; women had no legitimate reason not to want to be fucked); and it was assumed that in women an aversion to intercourse, or not climaxing from intercourse, or not wanting intercourse at a particular time or with a particular man, or wanting fewer partners than were available, or getting tired, or being cross, were all signs of and proof of sexual repression. Fucking per se was freedom per se. ~ Andrea Dworkin
Do Women quotes by Andrea Dworkin
It beats me how Freud could say "What do women want?" as if we all must want the same thing. ~ Katharine Whitehorn
Do Women quotes by Katharine Whitehorn
What do women want? Shoes. ~ Mimi Pond
Do Women quotes by Mimi Pond
Women think with their whole bodies and they see things as a whole more than men do. ~ Dorothy Day
Do Women quotes by Dorothy Day
Do women compete for the favours of men? Yes. They've spent 5,000 years competing. ~ Gloria Steinem
Do Women quotes by Gloria Steinem
Not every woman goes to sporting events to find men, but 2-3 percent of women do. ~ Katie Nolan
Do Women quotes by Katie Nolan
"War gives men a plain-and-simple something to do ... Women write diaries in the hope that their words will beckon fate." It's a romantic manifesto. ~ James Ellroy
Do Women quotes by James Ellroy
As Atwood concludes after a random and informal sampling, men and women differ markedly in the 'scope of their threatenability': 'Why do men feel threatened by woman?' I asked a male friend of mine ... '[M]en are bigger, most of the time ... and they have on the average a lot more money and power.' 'They're afraid women will laugh at them,' he said. 'Undercut their world view.' Then I asked some women students in a quickie poetry seminar I was giving, 'Why do women feel threatened by men?' 'They're afraid of being killed,' they said'. ~ Shuli Barzilai
Do Women quotes by Shuli Barzilai
Why do women love to read about sexually aggressive billionaire bad boy alpha males but condemn the same behavior in real life? ~ Oliver Markus Malloy
Do Women quotes by Oliver Markus Malloy
She could not resist, so she asked, "Why do men refer to vehicles in the feminine form?" ...
Amelia groaned. "You're going to say it's because they're temperamental like women, aren't you?"
"Of course not," defended Rick. "Far from it. Men have a great deal of respect for their cars and their women. I was talking to a friend about this the other day and we both agreed that we see a vehicle as a piece of artwork."
"What do you mean?" asked Amelia as she leaned against the door and faced him.
"The body of a car, especially a classic, has pleasing curves to the male eye. Just like women. It tends to work better with tender loving care. Just like women. Not only that, cars get us men excited and so do women. ~ Linda Weaver Clarke
Do Women quotes by Linda Weaver Clarke
I can't believe that women have got to put on so much in the morning. What time do women wake up? Man, I put a t-shirt and jeans on, and that's it. ~ Brandon T. Jackson
Do Women quotes by Brandon T. Jackson
Men mistakenly expect women to think, communicate, and react the way men do; women mistakenly expect men to feel, communicate, and respond the way women do. ~ John Gray
Do Women quotes by John Gray
What Do Women Want?"

I want a red dress.
I want it flimsy and cheap,
I want it too tight, I want to wear it
until someone tears it off me.
I want it sleeveless and backless,
this dress, so no one has to guess
what's underneath. I want to walk down
the street past Thrifty's and the hardware store
with all those keys glittering in the window,
past Mr. and Mrs. Wong selling day-old
donuts in their café, past the Guerra brothers
slinging pigs from the truck and onto the dolly,
hoisting the slick snouts over their shoulders.
I want to walk like I'm the only
woman on earth and I can have my pick.
I want that red dress bad.
I want it to confirm
your worst fears about me,
to show you how little I care about you
or anything except what
I want. When I find it, I'll pull that garment
from its hanger like I'm choosing a body
to carry me into this world, through
the birth-cries and the love-cries too,
and I'll wear it like bones, like skin,
it'll be the goddamned
dress they bury me in. ~ Kim Addonizio
Do Women quotes by Kim Addonizio
Women, for centuries not having access to pornography and now unable to bear looking at the muck on the supermarket shelves, are astonished. Women do not believe that men believe what pornography says about women. But they do. From the worst to the best of them, they do. ~ Andrea Dworkin
Do Women quotes by Andrea Dworkin
Asked why they wanted to fight, the young women said they enjoyed it, just as some men and boys do. ~ Katherine Dunn
Do Women quotes by Katherine Dunn
Why do women always do this? Why are they so eager to blame themselves when someone treats them like sh*t? A guy would take a cheese grater to his tongue before admitting he screwed up. ~ Emma Chase
Do Women quotes by Emma Chase
What do women want? A guy they can't drive crazy. There aren't many around. But they try. They can't help it, it's their nature. ~ Orson Bean
Do Women quotes by Orson Bean
Do women exist only to be used by men to settle their scores? ~ Volga
Do Women quotes by Volga
Why do women always have to go over and over a situation until it becomes a problem? ~ Jojo Moyes
Do Women quotes by Jojo Moyes
Do you know?
What the fuck do women want?
l know what you want: everything. ~ Chris Rock
Do Women quotes by Chris Rock
I have no problem with women in the military, if that's what they want to do. ~ Lorraine Bracco
Do Women quotes by Lorraine Bracco
Anyway, what do women grab when they're nervous and sitting at their desks? Do they slip their hands inside their panties? What a distracting thought. Just the word panty is distracting. I love that word; it implies so much. I love how women look in panties, how they're flat in the front. I'm thirty-five, but sometimes it's still this beautiful amazing shock to me that women don't have penises. They just have this lovely little mound of hair and then this tucked away glorious hole. Hole. Wait. Hole sounds vulgar. Is passageway better? Pretty envelope? Georgia O'Keeffe flower? Pussy? Pussy is good. I like the word pussy. Tucked away beautiful pussy. I wish I could put my face in one right now and sing out, I love you! ~ Jonathan Ames
Do Women quotes by Jonathan Ames
But even now, especially now, it seems to me that women have a strength about them that men never had. And I wonder how did men always get portrayed in the movies and such as the strong ones? How did it come to be that women are made to look like the weak ones who need protectin'? Truth is, it's men who need the protectin'. Really they do. Women have the strong thing inside of them and the can get through anything. They just can. They're used to pain of child birthing - pain no man knows - and some women being battered around and not treated right through all the centuries and having to learn at a real young age how to stay alive on the inside when the outside is being hurt real bad. Most all women know that. But men. Those poor men. They just don't have the inside strength the women do. It's harder for men to feel pain. ~ Sarah Felix Burns
Do Women quotes by Sarah Felix Burns
Though the passivity of woman's role weighs on me, suffocates me. Rather than wait for his pleasure, I would like to take it, to run wild. Is it that which pushes me into lesbianism? [...] Do women act thus? ~ Anais Nin
Do Women quotes by Anais Nin
I get to do physical comedy! When do women get to do physical comedy? Very rarely. ~ Michaela Watkins
Do Women quotes by Michaela Watkins
Whew," he said. "You clean up good. You don't look like the same girl."
She frowned right before she laughed. "Do women usually thank you for saying things like that? ~ Robyn Carr
Do Women quotes by Robyn Carr
[T]raveling, a local is shocked to realize that in neighboring countries locals view him as a foreigner; between villages, clans, nations, and classes there are wars, potlatches, agreements, treaties, and struggles that remove the absolute meaning from the idea of the 'other' and bring out its relativity; whether one likes it or not, individuals and groups have no choice but to recognize the reciprocity of their relation. How is it, then, that between the sexes this reciprocity has not been put forward, that one of the terms has been asserted as the only essential one, denying any relativity in regard to its correlative, defining the latter as pure alterity? Why do women not contest male sovereignty? ~ Simone De Beauvoir
Do Women quotes by Simone De Beauvoir
Birth
is what women do. Women are privileged to stand in such power! Birth
stretches a woman's limits in every sense. To allow such stretching
of one's limits is the challenge of pregnancy, birth, and parenting.
The challenge is to be fully present and to allow the process because of
inner trust. ~ Elizabeth Noble
Do Women quotes by Elizabeth Noble
Why do women have to be so complicated, Wellborn?" he grumbled. The butler shook his head, a hint of a smile lighting his eyes. "I suppose God wanted to ensure we never grew bored, sir. ~ Karen Witemeyer
Do Women quotes by Karen Witemeyer
Why do women go out with jerks? Because jerks ask. ~ Zan Perrion
Do Women quotes by Zan Perrion
One of the privileges of adulthood is that your parents don't get to tell you what to do. ~ Amy Dickinson
Do Women quotes by Amy Dickinson
I have found that women have so much unleashed power that they don't really utilize because they don't have confidence in themselves about who they are and what they can do. ~ Caitlyn Jenner
Do Women quotes by Caitlyn Jenner
I love orgasms. I say a prayer of thanks to God for them every day."
"You say a prayer of thanks for orgasms?" Elle asked.
"Of course. I mean, they're a gift from God, right? A woman doesn't need to have an orgasm to get pregnant, right?"
"Right."
"So if they have nothing to do with reproduction, then why do women have them?" Kryie asked. She raised her hand and pointed a finger up at hte ceiling, at the sky, where God lived. "Orgasms are God's way of saying He's sorry about periods and cramps."
"Apology accepted," Elle said. ~ Tiffany Reisz
Do Women quotes by Tiffany Reisz
Do women always care about the size of their stomachs?"
"Til the day they die, son."
"Will they ever know that we don't really care?"
"Do men always think everything is about them?" she mocks.
"Til the day they die, Gram." I wink at her. ~ Allie Brennan
Do Women quotes by Allie Brennan

The fact that we did not give the demonstrators in Iran our moral support when a young woman named Neda bled to death in the streets of Iran will go down as one of the great mistakes of the 21st Century. ~ John McCain
Do Women quotes by John McCain

Do Women quotes by Sandi Lynn
Sometimes the sexism in this country amazes me, but then I remembered that society's tendency to underestimate women is a Gallagher Girl's greatest weapon... ~ Ally Carter
Do Women quotes by Ally Carter
I have never been much of a groomer. I take baths a lot, but I don't wear deodorant. I don't have to. I have a miraculous body scent. I've had women smell me and say that should be bottled. I would advise guys to lay off the Drakkar, because the cavemen weren't wearing it. They might have been putting mint leaves on their balls, but [your scent] is grown naturally. I have really good dating advice. ~ Zach Galifianakis
Do Women quotes by Zach Galifianakis
These girls aren't wounded so much as post-wounded, and I see their sisters everywhere. They're over it. *I am not a melodramatic person.* God help the woman who is. What I'll call "post-wounded" isn't a shift in deep feeling (we understand these women still hurt) but a shift away from wounded affect---these women are aware that "woundedness" is overdone and overrated. They are wary of melodrama so they stay numb or clever instead. Post-wounded women make jokes about being wounded or get impatient with women who hurt too much. The post-wounded woman conducts herself as if preempting certain accusations: don't cry too loud, don't play victim, don't act the old role all over again. Don't ask for pain meds you don't need, don't give those doctors another reason to doubt the other women on their examination tables. Post-wounded women fuck men who don't love them and then they feel mildly sad about it, or just blase about it, more than anything they refuse to care about it, refuse to hurt about it---or else they are endlessly self-aware about the posture they have adopted if they allow themselves this hurting.

The post-wounded posture is claustrophobic. It's full of jadedness, aching gone implicit, sarcasm quick-on-the-heels of anything that might look like self-pity. I see it in female writers and their female narrators, troves of stories about vaguely dissatisfied women who no longer fully own their feelings. Pain is everywhere and nowhere. Post-wounded women know tha ~ Leslie Jamison
Do Women quotes by Leslie Jamison
The underlying principles of manners- respect, fairness, and congeniality. ~ Judith Martin
Do Women quotes by Judith Martin

Remember to draw a line between being nice in a strong way and simply being a people pleaser.

Nice: Positive, yet honest and straightforward.
People pleaser: Sweeping things under the rug to avoid making waves. ~ Fran Hauser
Do Women quotes by Fran Hauser

Do Women quotes by Carre Otis
Women are increasingly perceptive about the way media images are manipulated ~ Cynthia Leive
Do Women quotes by Cynthia Leive
She keeps telling
herself and others
that she doesn't want
a relationship to silence
the longing in her soul.
That alternative fact
feeds her insecurities
and starves her soul. ~ Sanjo Jendayi
Do Women quotes by Sanjo Jendayi
He was being the scrupulously honorable gentleman, she realized, protecting her name, taking the consequences of his own indiscretion. She understood all that and was grateful for it. And resentful of it. How helpless women were. The pawns of men. To be tripped up and pitched headlong into the dirt by men, and then to be picked up by them and dusted off and restored to uprightness. But that was the way of the world. ~ Mary Balogh
