My baby." His eyes close. "She doesn't bare her teeth in vain," he whispers, running his tongue along the wound. "She bites. ~ Meagan Brandy

Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
I cried, I was so overwhelmed to meet Michael Jackson. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
You and Beatrix haven't known each other long enough to consider matrimony. A matter of weeks, to my knowledge. And what about Prudence Mercer? You're practically betrothed, aren't you?"
"Those are valid points," Christopher said. "And I will answer them. But you should know right away that I'm against the match."
Leo blinked in bemusement. "You mean you're against a match with Miss Mercer?"
"Well…yes. But I'm also against a match with Beatrix."
Silence fell over the room.
"This is a trick of some sort," Leo said.
"Unfortunately, it's not," Christopher replied.
Another silence.
"Captain Phelan," Cam asked, choosing his words with care. "Have you come to ask for our consent to marry Beatrix?"
Christopher shook his head. "If I decide to marry Beatrix, I'll do it with or without your consent."
Leo looked at Cam. "Good God," he said in disgust. "This one's worse than Harry."
Cam wore an expression of beleaguered patience. "Perhaps we should both talk to Captain Phelan in the library. With brandy."
"I want my own bottle," Leo said feelingly, leading the way. ~ Lisa Kleypas
Brandy quotes by Lisa Kleypas
Who are you? What do you want? Who are you? Her voice was light and fast and intense and her mouth trembled. She seemed to be on the narrow edge of emotional disaster, holding herself in check with the greatest effort. And about her was a rich and heavy scent of brandy, and an unsteadiness, the eyes too swift and not exactly in focus. ~ John D. MacDonald
Brandy quotes by John D. MacDonald
He could gaze upon a particular deep shade of green and pick out every nuance of the color. Zeluppian Fern Green, his mind would inform him. Gray, said his soul. Just a shade of gray with a greenish name. His well-trained tongue could pick out every flavor of a sweetmeat. Honey from bees fed only cowslip nectar, his mind would tell him, with cherries marinated for twenty-one years in peach-and-saffron brandy. Ash, said his soul. Ash and dust. Even ~ Frances Hardinge
Brandy quotes by Frances Hardinge
Right now, it's really about my fans knowing that whatever I believed spiritually at the time is what I believed. I just wouldn't deliberately lie to them just to save my image. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
Just staying true to yourself and staying true to your passion. Following your gut. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
This is truly a blessing. Breyon Prescott, Peter Edge and Tom Corson believe in me and have introduced me to a home that also believes and knows exactly what to do with the type of music I'm doing. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
Careful big man," I whisper. "That sounds a lot like a king falling. The ground isn't soft at my feet. ~ Meagan Brandy
Brandy quotes by Meagan Brandy
Brandy is one of my favorite vocalists. Jay-Z is my favorite emcee outside of Biggie. ~ Rico Love
Brandy quotes by Rico Love
Voltaire was also there, fleeing a royal arrest warrant, and working as a kind of one-man eighteenth-century USO show during the siege, offering bons mots and brandy between bouts of battle and composing odes to the military men. The ~ Tom Reiss
Brandy quotes by Tom Reiss
Miraculously, I keep it together, although I would love to just slap the stupid out of them. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Charity liked brandy. She liked the way it burned her throat while soothing the ache in her heart. ~ Elizabeth Jane Howard
Brandy quotes by Elizabeth Jane Howard
I'm always brilliant after the fact. ~ Shelly Fredman
Brandy quotes by Shelly Fredman
While Mr Loveday aired my lady's sheets, I set to scratching up a supper. With not even time to change from my own damp clothes I had in one-half hour some welcoming tea steaming and hot brandy to mix a punch. Our bill of fare was the remnants of Mrs Garland's Yorkshire Pie, still sound and savory, fried bacon, and a hillock of roasted rabbits that disappeared as quickly as I made them. The last of the seed cake was eaten too, with a douse of brandy sprinkled over it to warm us.
'She will not eat those beggarly scraps,' said Jesmire, the spiteful old cat, when I took a tray of food to my lady's door. Yet I did see a slice of brandied cake disappear. I knew my mistress well enough by then, and she was a slave to her sugar tooth. ~ Martine Bailey
Brandy quotes by Martine Bailey
Alcoholic drinks, rightly used, are good for body and soul alike, but as a restorative of both there is nothing like brandy. ~ George Saintsbury
Brandy quotes by George Saintsbury
I don't know him, Jo, and neither do you. Going to his house without telling anyone is dangerous."
"Who do we really know until we've crossed that line? No one. But for once, in a very long time, I felt ... free. Free from my guilt and self-hatred. Free from the pain I feel every damn day. But it took me crossing that line, Tyler, to find that freedom. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
I've always wanted to be a mom at 23, 24ish, ever since I was a little girl. I'm right on schedule. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
Place a substantial meal before a tired man and he will eat with effort and be little better for it at first. Give him a glass of wine or brandy, and immediately he feels better: you see him come to life again before you. ~ Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
Brandy quotes by Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin
In comparison to the eight years I spent on Klonopin, the cocaine and brandy wins hands down. If you are ever in a drugstore and they put you on Klonopin, run out of there screaming. ~ Stevie Nicks
Brandy quotes by Stevie Nicks
Her tongue was in his mouth, and oh, Jesus, God, she tasted good. Like coffee and brandy and woman. Any thought of resistance fled.
She kissed him endlessly, again and again and again, like she was starving. Like she might never get enough. Like she could eat him alive. It was the sexiest thing he'd ever known. ~ Norah Wilson
Brandy quotes by Norah Wilson
Apple Brandy?"
"It's for my tea," she explained. "Medicinal, you know."
"Medicinal?" The Reverend tried to hide a smile.
"Well, yeah," Maddy started to smile herself. "Without the brandy, it'd be just some crumpled up leaves floatin' in warm water ... and that'd just make me sick!"
Aunt Maddy from The Ragtime Coven ~ Bruce Jenvey
Brandy quotes by Bruce Jenvey
It bothers him most at times like this, in the bottom of the brandy bottle and the quiet of the night. ~ Erin Morgenstern
Brandy quotes by Erin Morgenstern
Eleanor found herself unexpectedly admiring her own feet. Theodora dreamed over the fire beyond the tips of her toes, and Eleanor thought with deep satisfaction that her feet were handsome in their red sandals; what a complete and separate thing I am, she thought, going from my red toes to the top of my head, individually an I, possessed of attributes belonging only to me. I have red shoes, she thought-that goes with being Eleanor; I dislike lobster and sleep on my left side and crack my knuckles when I am nervous and save buttons. I am holding a brandy glass which is mine because I am here and I am using it and I have a place in this room. I have red shoes and tomorrow I will wake up and I will still be here. 'I have red shoes,' she said very softly, and Theodora turned and smiled up at her. ~ Shirley Jackson
Brandy quotes by Shirley Jackson
We'll get into the plane and you'll have a cup of coffee, even a sip of brandy is permissible. And you'll think. Think hard. So hard I can hear your brains creaking. And it will be very good if by the time we reach Edinburgh you already know how to get the Crown of All Things. Because we don't have any time to spare. Only twelve hours until the bomb goes off."
"You bastard," I said.
"No, I'm a highly effective personnel manager," Edgar said, with a smile. ~ Sergei Lukyanenko
Brandy quotes by Sergei Lukyanenko
The actions of yesterday, the pretenses of tomorrow, and the presence of now, have forever added to history. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Let go of the fear that holds you to the ground and fly. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Wracked with a hangover I do my muttering over a Black Velvet, a union of champagne and stout. Don't be swindled into believing there's any cure for a hangover. I've tried them all: iced tomatoes, hot clam juice, brandy peaches. Like the common cold it defies solution. Time alone can stay it. The hair of the dog? That way lies folly. It's as logical as trying to put out a fire with applications of kerosene. ~ Tallulah Bankhead
Brandy quotes by Tallulah Bankhead
I'm open to different parts. I would love to do something where I can sing and act at the same time. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
So much for a great opening speech, that sucker done tucked tail and is hiding in the deepest part of my brain, sucking its thumb. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
One quart milk, one quart cream, one dozen eggs, 12 tablespoons sugar, one pint brandy, half-pint rye whiskey, quarter-pint rum, quarter-pint sherry. Mix. Store by cool window or in cellar. ~ Kristiana Gregory
Brandy quotes by Kristiana Gregory
No, no, no!" said Albert. "You got to put a bit of life in it, sir, no offense intended. It's got to be a big fat laugh. You got to ... you got to sound like you're pissing brandy and crapping plum pudding, sir, excuse my Klatchian. ~ Terry Pratchett
Brandy quotes by Terry Pratchett
We at the Christian Writers Guild couldn't be more proud of Brandy Vallance. Let her debut novel transport you to an entirely fresh time and place where you'll soon forget you're turning pages and find yourself riveted to the destinies of characters who'll leave a lasting impression on your heart. ~ Jerry B. Jenkins
Brandy quotes by Jerry B. Jenkins
I was rapping as a hobby. It was something I did for my friends and just played around on ideas and stuff like that. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
He lay back for a little in his bed thinking about the smells of food ... of the intoxicating breath of bakeries and dullness of buns ... He planned dinners, of enchanting aromatic foods ... endless dinners, in which one could alternate flavor with flavor from sunset to dawn without satiety, while one breathed great draughts of the bouquet of brandy. ~ Evelyn Waugh
Brandy quotes by Evelyn Waugh
they contain the essence of the plant from which they were extracted. Actually, the term essential oil is short for the original term 'quintessential oil'. This is based on the Aristotelian idea that all matter is made up of four main elements (water, earth, air, and fire). Additionally, there was the fifth element, the quintessence, which was considered to be in spirit form or rather life force. Evaporation and distillation were viewed as ways of extracting the spirit from the plant. This has been reflected to even today's world where we can see the word 'spirits' being used to describe distilled alcoholic drinks such as eau de vie, whiskey and brandy. In the current days, the idea has been let go of since we know that essential oils are actually ~ Matt Hall
Brandy quotes by Matt Hall
It's her first grandchild, so she's really, really, really excited. I guess my mom is a little more stressed out than me. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
before I got to the shore, which I conjectured was about eight o'clock in the evening. I then advanced forward near half a mile, but could not discover any sign of houses or inhabitants; at least I was in so weak a condition, that I did not observe them. I was extremely tired, and with that, and the heat of the weather, and about half a pint of brandy that I drank as I left the ship, I found myself much inclined to sleep. I lay down on the grass, which was very short and soft, where I slept sounder than ever I remembered to have done in my life, and, as I reckoned, about nine hours; for when I awaked, it was just day-light. I attempted to rise, but was not able to stir: for, as I happened to lie on my back, I found my arms and legs were strongly fastened on each side to the ground; and my hair, which was long ~ Jonathan Swift
Brandy quotes by Jonathan Swift
I have so much to talk about. I have so much to share. There are so many different emotions going on inside of me right now. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
Beckett gives me his legendary calculated stare. He really seems to think that makes him look superior. What am I going to do, squeal like a baby because of his narrowed eyes? Um, think not. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Ian, about Elizabeth Cameron. Her duenna said some things-"
That alarmingly pleasant yet distant smile returned to Ian's face. "I'll spare you further conversation, Duncan. It's over."
"The discussion or-"
"All of it."
"It didn't look over to me!" Duncan snapped, nudged to the edge by Ian's infuriating calm. "That scene I witnessed-"
"You witnessed the end."
He said that, Duncan noted, with the same deadly finality, the same amused calm with which he'd spoken of his grandfather. It was as if he'd resolved matters to his complete satisfaction in his own mind, and nothing and no one could ever invade the place where he put them to rest. Based on Ian's last reaction to the matter of Elizabeth Cameron, she was now relegated to the same category as the Duke of Stanhope. Frustrated, Duncan jerked the bottle of brandy off the table at Ian's elbow and splashed some into his glass. "There's something I've never told you," he said angrily.
"And that is?" Ian inquired.
"I hate it when you turn all pleasant and amused. I'd rather see you furious! At least then I know I still have a chance of reaching you."
To Duncan's boundless annoyance, Ian merely picked up his book and started reading again. ~ Judith McNaught
Brandy quotes by Judith McNaught
Don't look at how it is. Imagine how it was... -Suzanne Blanchard-Wells ~ Brandy Heineman
Brandy quotes by Brandy Heineman
…she sipped her drink and tried not to stare at Dalgliesh. But he was murderously handsome, dark as a gypsy, with sleepy, bedroom eyes, his hunter's gaze shuttered now that he was lounging relaxed in his chair, his brandy glass resting on his chest. His legs were stretched out before him… ~ Susan Johnson
Brandy quotes by Susan Johnson
I feel like I needed a balance. I don't want to forget about my personal life and spending time with myself. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
He thinks that there's no reason to eat breakfast unless Eleanor is there to give him that silly wide grin of hers. He wants to have an argument with her just so he can kiss her into a good mood again. He wants to sleep with her every night, see her holding a baby with brandy-colored hair like hers ... He wants her forever ... He can't bear the idea that she might ever love another man. ~ Eloisa James
Brandy quotes by Eloisa James
Every year my boss used to give me a bottle of expensive brandy because I'd told him that my doctor suggested a drink once in a while. This year my boss gave me the name of a new doctor. ~ Milton Berle
Brandy quotes by Milton Berle
I guess we need to find a way to the quarry?" Jesper said.
Wylan coughed. "No we don't, just a general store."
"But you told Kaz the mineral - "
"It's present in all kinds of paints and enamels. I wanted to make sure I had a reason to go to Olendaal."
"Wylan Van Eck, you lied to Kaz Brekker." Jesper clutched a hand to his chest. "And you got away with it! Do you give lessons?"
Wylan felt ridiculously pleased - until he thought about Kaz finding out. Then he felt a little like the first time he'd tried brandy and ended up spewing his dinner all over his own shoes. ~ Leigh Bardugo
Brandy quotes by Leigh Bardugo
That was probably the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me."
"What? Almost falling in a ditch?"
"No, being carried by a girl. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Suspicion infused Alex's voice. "Okay? That's it?"
I looked back at him and smiled. "That's it. We disagree. It's done. We'll deal with whatever comes next."
He stood up, brows lowered over squinty eyes. "Did Lafitte ply you with brandy, or have the body snatchers been here? ~ Suzanne Johnson
Brandy quotes by Suzanne Johnson
Though she would never admit it to polite Society, Lady Georgette Thorold hated brandy almost as much as she hated husbands. So it was the cruelest of jokes when she awoke with nary a clue to her surroundings, smelling like one and pressed up against the other. ~ Jennifer McQuiston
Brandy quotes by Jennifer McQuiston
You're welcome in my house when this is over. We'll open a cask of Master al'Vere's best brandy. We'll remember those who fell, and we'll tell our children how we stood when the clouds turned black and the world started to die. We'll tell them we stood shoulder to shoulder, and there was just no space for the Shadow to squeeze through. ~ Robert Jordan
Brandy quotes by Robert Jordan
There's some are fou o' love divine; There's some are fou o' brandy. ~ Robert Burns
Brandy quotes by Robert Burns
Amy planted a glass of brandy beside the bride's cornflakes. ~ Jane Gardam
Brandy quotes by Jane Gardam
That's why people loved stories so, I realized in that instant, because they found in them what was missing from their own lives, the things they knew, no matter how much or how hard they might hope and dream and scheme, they would never have. ~ Brandy Purdy
Brandy quotes by Brandy Purdy
Call things by their right names - Glass of brandy and water! That is the current, but not the appropriate name; ask for a glass of liquid fire and distilled damnation. ~ Robert Hall
Brandy quotes by Robert Hall
Poetry is no less than this:
An unexpected workplace kiss
The brandy in the spirit cage
A salve upon our wounded age
That lustful swell, the secret damp
The yellow of the attic lamp
The drifting, smoky, hazel haze
Of wooded hills on autumn days
Between the thoughts of summer lost
And anvil of the winter frost ~ Martin Newell
Brandy quotes by Martin Newell
In order to possess "The Wonder-working Serpent," it is necessary, in the words of the Grimoire, "to buy an egg without haggling," which (by the way) indicates the class of person for and by whom the book was written. This egg is to be buried in a cemetery at midnight, and every morning at sunrise it must be watered with brandy. On the ninth day a spirit appears, and demands your purpose. You reply "I am watering my plant." This occurs on three successive days; at the midnight following the egg is dug up, and found to contain a serpent, with a cock's head. This amiable animal answers to the name of Ambrosiel. Carry it in your bosom, and your suit inevitably prospers. ~ Aleister Crowley
Brandy quotes by Aleister Crowley
Ultimately, Roger learned only of the encounter with the urban bees. The boy remained thoroughly fascinated by what he heard nonetheless, his blue-eyed stare never once straying from Holmes; his visage passive and accepting, his eyes wide, Roger's pupils stated fixed on those venerable, reflective eyes, as though the boy were seeing distant lights shimmering along an opaque horizon, a glimpse of something flickering and alive existing beyond his reach. And, in turn, the gray eyes that focused sharply on him - piercing and kind at the same instant - endeavoured to bridge the lifetime that separated the two of them, attempting to do so as brandy was sipped, and the vial's glass grew warmer against soft palms, and that seasoned, well-lived voice somehow made Roger feel much older and more worldly than his years. ~ Mitch Cullin
Brandy quotes by Mitch Cullin
Have I told you how beautiful you look tonight?"
"That brandy you had before we left home has dulled your senses, Devlyn.
However, I appreciate your gallantry."
"Haven't you learned by now, that I'm far from gallant? A rake rarely is. ~ Monica Burns
Brandy quotes by Monica Burns
I've just got to get that album out. I have to get it out, if it's the last thing I do. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
And the next, I was pressed against the wall, her lips moving in a swift line from my chin to my collarbone. ~ Brandy Colbert
Brandy quotes by Brandy Colbert
Oh, man," Xavier groaned. "See what you've done
now I'm stressing."
"You can't! You're the stable one!"
Xavier laughed and I realized his distress had been feigned to illustrate a point. He wasn't worried in the slightest.
"Just relax. Go and run a bath or have a shot of brandy."
"Okay."
"That second bit was a joke. We both know you can't hold your liquor. ~ Alexandra Adornetto
Brandy quotes by Alexandra Adornetto
What are you doing?"
Celaena lifted another piece of paper. "If His Pirateness can't be bothered to clean for us, then I don't see why I can't have a look."
"He'll be here any second," Sam hissed. She picked up a flattened map, examining the dots and markings along the coastline of their continent. Something small and round gleamed beneath the map, and she slipped it into her pocket before Sam could notice.
"Oh, hush," she said, opening the hutch on the wall adjacent to the desk. "With these creaky floors, we'll hear him a mile off." The hutch was crammed with rolled scrolls, quills, the odd coin, and some very old, very expensive-looking brandy. She pulled out a bottle, swirling the amber liquid in the sunlight streaming through the tiny porthole window. "Care for a drink? ~ Sarah J. Maas
Brandy quotes by Sarah J. Maas
Herbs, vials, and crap," I grumble. "Where are the massive weapons and spirit fighting spears?"
"So impatient," Cooper says, mocking, and goes to pick up a tube filled with powder. "You know, these herbs and vials and crap are important."
"Yes, because crap always sounds necessary. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Under the twinkling trees was a table covered with Guatemalan fabric, roses in juice jars, wax rose candles from Tijuana and plates of food - Weetzie's Vegetable Love-Rice, My Secret Agent Lover Man's guacamole, Dirk's homemade pizza, Duck's fig and berry salad and Surfer Surprise Protein Punch, Brandy-Lynn's pink macaroni, Coyote's cornmeal cakes, Ping's mushu plum crepes and Valentine's Jamaican plantain pie. Witch Baby's stomach growled but she didn't leave her hiding place. Instead, she listened to the reggae, surf, soul and salsa, tugged at the snarl balls in her hair and snapped pictures of all the couples. ~ Francesca Lia Block
Brandy quotes by Francesca Lia Block
With his mouth open, he gave off that alcoholic smell that you get from an old brandy cask when you take out the bung. ~ Emile Zola
Brandy quotes by Emile Zola
Reach for the sky, set goals, live life to fullest and always remember to wake up each day with a smile. ~ Brandy Miller
Brandy quotes by Brandy Miller
But sometimes everything needs to change. And once it does, you realize God knew what He was doing all along. You realize that nothing is beyond Him. ~ Brandy Bruce
Brandy quotes by Brandy Bruce
Caroline made a steamed fig pudding with brandy hard sauce. Hedy and Jacob brought a platter of dense, moist gingerbread squares studded with chunks of candied ginger and frosted with a lemon cream cheese icing. John and Marie brought a flourless chocolate souffle cake filled with chocolate mousse, glazed with chocolate ganache and decorated with white chocolate swirls. Jag and Nageena brought a really interesting dessert called halwa that is made with carrots. And I brought Gemma's shortbread. ~ Stacey Ballis
Brandy quotes by Stacey Ballis
to get some brandy for my ~ Helen MacInnes
Brandy quotes by Helen MacInnes
I wish I was smaller. There are things about my face I'd change. But like all women I do the best I can. ~ Brandy Clark
Brandy quotes by Brandy Clark
Smiling, Simon stared into the depths of his brandy.
"What a difficult evening you've had," he heard Westcliff remark sardonically. "First you were compelled to carry Miss Peyton's nubile young body all the way to her bedroom …then you had to examine her injured leg. How terribly inconvenient for you."
Simon's smile faded. "I didn't say that I had examined her leg."
The earl regarded him shrewdly. "You didn't have to. I know you too well to presume that you would overlook such an opportunity."
"I'll admit that I looked at her ankle. And I also cut her corset strings when it became apparent that she couldn't breathe." Simon's gaze dared the earl to object.
"Helpful lad," Westcliff murmured.
Simon scowled. "Difficult as it may be for you to believe, I receive no lascivious pleasure from the sight of a woman in pain."
Leaning back in his chair, Westcliff regarded him with a cool speculation that raised Simon's hackles. "I hope you're not fool enough to fall in love with such a creature. You know my opinion of Miss Peyton - "
"Yes, you've aired it repeatedly."
"And furthermore," the earl continued, "I would hate to see one of the few men of good sense I know to turn into one of those prattling fools who run about pollenating the atmosphere with maudlin sentiment - "
"I'm not in love."
"You're in something," Westcliff insisted. "In all the years I've known you, I've never seen you look so mawkish as you did outside ~ Lisa Kleypas
Brandy quotes by Lisa Kleypas
A woman without a past is like a fruitcake without brandy - insipid! ~ Nancy Atherton
Brandy quotes by Nancy Atherton
She was a sweet girl but not really pretty, a rough sketch of a woman with a little of everything in her, one of those silhouettes which artists draw in three strokes on the tablecloth in a café after dinner, between a glass of brandy and a cigarette. Nature sometimes turns out creatures like that. ~ Guy De Maupassant
Brandy quotes by Guy De Maupassant
To get over the guilt of drinking, take your brandy in milk. This way, it becomes medicinal. ~ Catherine Cookson
Brandy quotes by Catherine Cookson
In the week I promised myself I should naturally read, for to the habitual reader reading is a drug of which he is the slave; deprive him of printed matter and he grows nervous, moody, and restless; then, like the alcoholic bereft of brandy who will drink shellac or methylated spirit, he will make do with the advertisements of a paper five years old; he will make do with a telephone directory. ~ W. Somerset Maugham
Brandy quotes by W. Somerset Maugham
Martha: Fix the kids a drink, George. What would you like to drink, kid– kid.
Nick: Honey? what would you like?
Honey: Ohhhh, I don't know, dear, a little brandy maybe. "Never mix, never worry!"
George: Brandy? Just brandy? Simple, simple…
[George turns to Nick.]
George: What about you, em… em… em…
Nick: Bourbon on the rocks, if you don't mind.
George: Mind? I don't mind. I don't think I mind. Martha? Rubbing alcohol for you?
Martha: Sure! "Never mix, never worry! ~ Edward Albee
Brandy quotes by Edward Albee
My whole family is obsessed by brandy butter. And bread sauce. Then, of course, there will be a lot of wind in the afternoon! We have never disguised the wind side of our lives as a family; we think it's hilarious. ~ Miranda Hart
Brandy quotes by Miranda Hart
...despite the rain, I felt I had never been more content. I had gold, a friend, a horse, and brandy. I could envisage no end to my life but a bullet, yet even if I never had more than this, it would be enough. ~ Cherie Pugh
Brandy quotes by Cherie Pugh
I think it's really finding that belief in yourself, where you just have it no matter what's going on, no matter what anyone else says. I think that's the challenge, is to really have that belief in yourself. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
Indulgent Reader, up till now I have concealed it, but I must confess at last. I have one besetting weakness, a weakness that amounts to a vice. I am ashamed of it. Often I have tried to wean myself of it; often cursed the heredity that imposed it on me. Opium? Morphine? Cocaine? Nothing so fashionable. Absinth? Brandy? Gin? Nothing so normal. Alas! let me whisper it in your ear: I am a Chewing Gum Fiend! ~ Robert W. Service
Brandy quotes by Robert W. Service
Any meal at the front was an exercise in war-time ingenuity and devotion of the lower classes for their officers. The Petite Marmite a la Thermit was from beef-broth cubes, the tinned Canadian salmon was called Saumon de Tin A & Q Sauce. The Epaule d'Agneau Wellington, N.Z. was army ration lamb, and the terrine of foie gras aux truffes was a can of foie gras that I had bought from the French commanding general. There was a salad of fresh lettuce from somewhere (no one asked in what or whose fertilizer it had been grown in since we would all soon be dead anyway) and the Macedoine de Fruits a la Quatre Bas was a can of mixed fruit. Then fresh strawberries soaked in Cognac. All the usual wines starting with an amontillado, Pommery Extra Sec, Chateau Steenworde Claret, Graham's Five Crowns Port, Bisquit Dubouche Grande Champagne Cognac, Brandy and a Waterloo Cup. ~ Jeremiah Tower
Brandy quotes by Jeremiah Tower
They were really getting quite fond of their strange pet and hoped that Aslan would allow them to keep it. The cleverer ones were quite sure by now that at least some of the noises which came out of his mouth had a meaning. They christened him Brandy because he made that noise so often. ~ C.S. Lewis
Brandy quotes by C.S. Lewis
Lionel is entirely too outdoorsy for such a bookish person ~ Brandy Colbert
Brandy quotes by Brandy Colbert
But indeed, nature herself seemed to have been his vintner, and at his birth charged him so thoroughly with an irritable, brandy-like disposition, that all subsequent potations were needless. ~ Herman Melville
Brandy quotes by Herman Melville
Safe? What can be classified as safe? Everything we do in life has a risk. Just getting out of bed each morning can be dangerous. It's not a matter of what is safe, Cooper, it's a matter of what are you going to allow to hold you back." I look down at him over my shoulder and smile. "You going to let some squeaking metal hold you back? ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
I have vowed that rather than let Alzheimer's take me, I would take it, i would live my life as ever to the full and die, before the disease mounted its last attack, in my own home, in a chair on the lawn, with a brandy in my hand to wash down whatever modern version of the Brompton Cocktail some helpful medic could supply. And with Thomas Tallis on my iPod, I would shake hands with death. ~ Terry Pratchett
Brandy quotes by Terry Pratchett
Good news is, we're annoying him. Bad news is, we're all going to die painfully. ~ Brandy Nacole
Brandy quotes by Brandy Nacole
Go to hell," Sebastian muttered. "No doubt that was what you came to tell me tonight. If so, you're about a month too late."
"That was my intention," Westcliff admitted. "Now, however, I've decided to stay and have a snifter of brandy while you tell me what in God's name you're doing. ~ Lisa Kleypas
Brandy quotes by Lisa Kleypas
She gently pushes me back on the bed and we start kissing again. ~ Brandy Colbert
Brandy quotes by Brandy Colbert
'America's Got Talent' has really opened a lot of doors for me. I want to do a lot more TV. ~ Brandy Norwood
Brandy quotes by Brandy Norwood
I'm not sure how the ponies happened, though I have an inkling: "Can I get you anything?" I'll say, getting up from a dinner table, "Coffee, tea, a pony?" People rarely laugh at this, especially if they've heard it before. "This party's 'sposed to be fun," a friend will say. "Really? Will there be pony rides?" It's a nervous tic and a cheap joke, cheapened further by the frequency with which I use it. For that same reason, it's hard to weed it out of my speech – most of the time I don't even realize I'm saying it. There are little elements in a person's life, minor fibers that become unintentionally tangled with your personality. Sometimes it's a patent phrase, sometimes it's a perfume, sometimes it's a wristwatch. For me, it is the constant referencing of ponies.

I don't even like ponies. If I made one of my throwaway equine requests and someone produced an actual pony, Juan-Valdez-style, I would run very fast in the other direction. During a few summers at camp, I rode a chronically dehydrated pony named Brandy who would jolt down without notice to lick the grass outside the corral and I would careen forward, my helmet tipping to cover my eyes. I do, however, like ponies on the abstract. Who doesn't? It's like those movies with the animated insects. This will not do,' he said to himself. 'If I go on like this I shall become a crazy fool. This must stop! I promised the doctor I would not take tea. Faith, he was pretty right! My nerves must have been getting in a queer state. Funny I did not notice it. I never felt better in my life. However it is all right now, and I shall not be such a fool again.'
Then he mixed himself a good stiff glass of brandy and water and resolutely sat down to his work. ~ Bram Stoker

The music room's in the next wing. We can have coffee and brandy there."
"I doubt we'd share the same taste in music, Roarke."
"You might be surprised," he murmured, "at what we share." He touched her cheek again, this time sliding his hand around until it cupped the back of her neck. "At what we will share. ~ J.D. Robb
