Humanity is God's constant preoccupation throughout the Bible. The Christian study of God cannot neglect God's own prevailing interest - the redemption of humanity. No Christian theology can speak only of God and never of human beings. ~ Thomas C. Oden
Christian quotes by Thomas C. Oden
May the Lord grant you great grace, great strength and great wisdom. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees, ~ Michael Scanlon
Christian quotes by Michael Scanlon
Those Christians who are very strict in their observances, think a good deal more of the Sabbath than of man, a great deal more of the Bible than of the truth, and ten times more of their creed than of the will of God. Of course, if they heard anyone utter such words as I have just written, they would say he was and atheist. ~ George MacDonald
Christian quotes by George MacDonald
I'm convinced that a large percentage of people that we call worldly Christians are perhaps not Christian to begin with and that may be the trouble. ~ Vance Havner
Christian quotes by Vance Havner
Step 1 in casting vision is to make sure your people love Jesus more than they love the vision you are casting. ~ Matthew Carter
Christian quotes by Matthew Carter
The Christian that is bound by his own horizon, the church that lives simply for itself, is bound to die a spiritual death and sink into stagnancy and corruption. We never can thank God enough for giving us not only a whole Gospel to believe, but a whole world to give it to. ~ A.B. Simpson
Christian quotes by A.B. Simpson
It's easy to be a Christian when you're living the perfect life. It's easy to live a perfect life when God seems to be showering you with blessings. ~ Tessa Emily Hall
Christian quotes by Tessa Emily Hall
A Cultist is one who has a strong belief in the Bible and the Second Coming of Christ; who frequently attends Bible studies; who has a high level of financial giving to a Christian cause; who home schools his children; who has accumulated survival foods and has a strong belief in the 2nd Amendment, and who distrusts Big Government. ~ Janet Reno
Christian quotes by Janet Reno
I've always believed that the director does whatever the hell he wants. That's what you sign on for as an actor - I can't stand it when you have actors who are trying to leverage directors into doing things they don't want to do. ~ Christian Bale
Christian quotes by Christian Bale
Christians aren't making a religious claim when they say Jesus rose from the grave. They're making a historical one; they're saying that this thing happened just as surely and really as it happened that Julius Caesar became emperor of Rome. It's the kind of claim that can be thought about and investigated; it can be judged, ~ Greg Gilbert
Christian quotes by Greg Gilbert
The grandest of all laws is the law of progressive development. Under it, in the wide sweep of things, men grow wiser as they grow older, and societies better. ~ Christian Nestell Bovee
Christian quotes by Christian Nestell Bovee
Because the Lord loves us He chastens and rebukes us. Modern sentimentality has reduced God to a tolerant indulgent grandfatherly being who winks at our transgressions. ~ Vance Havner
Christian quotes by Vance Havner
"How" is what kills vision and dreams. Don't ask "How" until we figure out the "What". The "How" can kill the "What". ~ Andy Stanley
Christian quotes by Andy Stanley
Every day is predetermined by God. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Now, if we only had as many casks of butter as there are people here, then I would eat lots of butter! ~ Hans Christian Andersen
Christian quotes by Hans Christian Andersen
I'm a Christian, and those beliefs occasionally come out in the books. ~ John Grisham
Christian quotes by John Grisham
Few living do."
"Then, have I...I mean, am I-"
"Oh, no, child! You are still very much alive! Though I may say, not as Alive as you might be if you had died. ~ R.W. Schmidt
Christian quotes by R.W. Schmidt
I think every one who has some vague belief in God, until he becomes a Christian, has the idea of an exam, or of a bargain in his mind. The first result of real Christianity is to blow that idea into bits. When they find it blown into bits, some people think this means that Christianity is a failure and give up. They seem to imagine that God is very simple-minded! In fact, of course, He knows all about this. One of the very things Christianity was designed to do was to blow this idea to bits. God has been waiting for the moment at which you discover that there is no question of earning a pass mark in this exam, or putting Him in your debt.

Then comes another discovery. Every faculty you have, your power of thinking or of moving your limbs from moment to moment, is given you by God. If you devoted every moment of your whole life exclusively to His service you could not give Him anything that was not in a sense His own already. So that when we talk of a man doing anything for God or giving anything to God, I will tell you what it is really like.

It is like a small child going to its father and saying, "Daddy, give me sixpence to buy you a birthday present." Of course, the father does, and he is pleased with the child's present. It is all very nice and proper, but only an idiot would think that the father is sixpence to the good on the transaction. When a man has made these two discoveries God can really get to work. It is after this that real life begins. ~ C.S. Lewis
Christian quotes by C.S. Lewis
All things are possible for whoever believes. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
American Christianity is a story of perpetual upheavals in churches and individual lives. Starting with the extraordinary conversion experience, our lives are motivated by a constant expectation for the Next Big Thing. We're growing bored with the ordinary means of God's grace, attending church week in and week out. Doctrines and disciplines that have shaped faithful Christian witness in the past are often marginalized or substituted with newer fashions or methods. The new and improved may dazzle us for a moment, but soon they have become "so last year". Michael Horton, Ordinary, 16 ~ Michael S. Horton
Christian quotes by Michael S. Horton
Christianity is being compared with other religions as never before. Some so-called Christian leaders even advocate the working out of a system of morals, ethics, and religion that would bring together all the religions of the world. It cannot be done. Jesus Christ is unique. ~ Billy Graham
Christian quotes by Billy Graham
An irenic approach to expounding Christian beliefs is one that attempts always to understand opposing viewpoints before disagreeing, and when it is necessary to disagree does so respectfully and in love. An irenic approach to doctrine seeks common ground and values unity within diversity and diversity within unity. An irenic approach does not imply relativism or disregard for truth, but it does seek to live by the motto "in essentials unity, ~ Roger E. Olson
Christian quotes by Roger E. Olson
I'm not a serpent, Father. I'm a crow. ~ Eli Easton
Christian quotes by Eli Easton
I'm a follower of the Christ path, and that opens a huge discussion about what we even mean by words like "Christian." ~ Barbara Brown Taylor
Christian quotes by Barbara Brown Taylor
The modern world is not evil; in some ways the modern world is far too good. It is full of wild and wasted virtues. When a religious scheme is shattered ... it is not merely the vices that are let loose. The vices are, indeed, let loose, and they wander and do damage. But the virtues are let loose also; and the virtues wander more wildly, and the virtues do more terrible damage. The modern world is full of the old Christian virtues gone mad. The virtues have gone mad because they have been isolated from each other and are wandering alone. Thus some scientists care for truth; and their truth is pitiless. Thus some humanitarians only care for pity; and their pity (I am sorry to say) is often untruthful. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Christian quotes by G.K. Chesterton
The Christian Religion as I understand it is the best. ~ John Adams
Christian quotes by John Adams
Despite his cynical exterior, he had a good heart-and Lissa owned most of it. ~ Richelle Mead
Christian quotes by Richelle Mead
Real Christians revel in desperate ventures for Christ, expecting from God great things and attempting the same with exhilaration. ~ Charles Studd
Christian quotes by Charles Studd
While the official church was moribund, the house churches kept alight the flame of Christian witness. The church survived as a lay movement, often led by poorly educated Bible women who memorized Scripture and passed on the faith to family members and (if they dared) to neighbors and friends. ~ Kim-Kwong Chan
Christian quotes by Kim-Kwong Chan
In the entire first Christian century Jesus is not mentioned by a single Greek or Roman historian, religion scholar, politician, philosopher or poet. His name never occurs in a single inscription, and it is never found in a single piece of private correspondence. Zero! Zip references! ~ Bart D. Ehrman
Christian quotes by Bart D. Ehrman
With your permission and cooperation, God will work the soil of your heart, and your life will become a lovely garden for him. ~ Linda Evans Shepherd
Christian quotes by Linda Evans Shepherd
This is the need of the church today. The church is not in great need of miracles, gifts, teachings, or knowledge. Today the church needs the ministry of Christ. ~ Witness Lee
Christian quotes by Witness Lee
I love it when Muslims go to war with each other, as I do when the Christians do, because it shows there's no such thing as the Christian world and the Islamic world. That's all crap. ~ Christopher Hitchens
Christian quotes by Christopher Hitchens
Eternity is never having to show up because there was never a time that you were not there. And because this is the nature of God, it's not about asking Him to show up in our lives. Rather, it's about asking Him to shine through our lives. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
Christian quotes by Craig D. Lounsbrough
The unwavering truth is life is good all the time. For even in the darkest valley of your life, if you stay still, life will whisper hope to you. In the calmness of your heart, it tosses an inkling of joy. It introduces favors and births opportunities where you expect them the least. ~ Naide P Obiang
Christian quotes by Naide P Obiang
The only analogy I have before me is Socrates. My task is a Socratic task, to revise the definition of what it is to be a Christian. For my part I do not call myself a "Christian" (thus keeping the ideal free), but I am able to make it evident that the others are still less than I. ~ Soren Kierkegaard
Christian quotes by Soren Kierkegaard
Mecca has been banned for Christians for hundreds of years. ~ Kwasi Kwarteng
Christian quotes by Kwasi Kwarteng
The blessings of God are inexhaustible. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
The Church in contemporary America does not need more strategies, steps, or keys to the Christian life. The Church needs truth, and more specifically, the great foundational truths of historical Christianity. ~ Charles Leiter
Christian quotes by Charles Leiter
My prayer today is that God would make me an extraordinary Christian. ~ George Whitefield
Christian quotes by George Whitefield
It is unforgivable to do what one doesn't love, especially if one succeeds. ~ Christian Dior
Christian quotes by Christian Dior
It seems Christianity's symbol is 'CHURCH,'
for its leaders portrayed Jesus as church:
"You're not Christian if you don't have a church;
you're bad Christian if you don't go to church."

Christianity's symbol ought to be 'LIFE,'
for Jesus came to bring fullness of life.
"Where there's no life, he is there to give life."
"Where there's life, he's there to celebrate life. ~ Rodolfo Martin Vitangcol
Christian quotes by Rodolfo Martin Vitangcol
Even though our society is increasingly pluralistic, we must ensure an equal playing field rather than a religiously cleansed arena where people of faith are no longer welcome. ~ Jay Sekulow
Christian quotes by Jay Sekulow
As we discard a limited mind and a life of limitation to step into the grandness of vastness, we realize infinity itself to be the Guru and all that we do as grace. As we traverse through consciousness that is the Guru, we become the Guru and each thought of ours is perfect in the now, as scriptures. Consciousness is the Guru, the wisdom. ~ Nandhiji
Christian quotes by Nandhiji
A sound discretion is not so much indicated by never making a mistake as by never repeating it. ~ Christian Nestell Bovee
Christian quotes by Christian Nestell Bovee
The external rest comes unexpected. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Europe was not born in the early Middle Ages. No common identity in 1000 linked Spain to Russia, Ireland to the Byzantine empire (in what is now the Balkans, Greece and Turkey), except the very weak sense of community that linked Christian polities together. There was no common European culture, and certainly not any Europe-wide economy. There was no sign whatsoever that Europe would, in a still rather distant future, develop economically and militarily, so as to be able to dominate the world. Anyone in 1000 looking for future industrialization would have put bets on the economy of Egypt, not of the Rhineland and Low Countries, and that of Lancashire would have seemed like a joke. In politico-military terms, the far south-east and south-west of Europe, Byzantium and al-Andalus (Muslim Spain), provided the dominant states of the Continent, whereas in western Europe the Carolingian experiment (see below, Chapters 16 and 17) had ended with the break-up of Francia (modern France, Belgium and western Germany), the hegemonic polity for the previous four hundred years. The most coherent western state in 1000, southern England, was tiny. In fact, weak political systems dominated most of the Continent at the end of our period, and the active and aggressive political systems of later on in the Middle Ages were hardly visible.

National identities, too, were not widely prominent in 1000, even if one rejects the association between nationalism and modernity made in much contemp ~ Chris Wickham
Christian quotes by Chris Wickham
Don't you see any contradiction between being a Christian and being the chauffeur for a major right-wing figure? ~ Haruki Murakami
Christian quotes by Haruki Murakami
Lord deliver mankind from darkness into light ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christian quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
I've filled my whole life trying to preserve the memory of living, in the fight against dying. Perhaps the only thing I've done, since stopping death is impossible, is to show this fight. The fight itself does not satisfy us either. ~ Christian Boltanski
Christian quotes by Christian Boltanski
Aikido chagnes constantly. What do not change are the principles. ~ Christian Tissier
Christian quotes by Christian Tissier
Christian freedom is not "I always do what I want." Nor is it "I always do whatever the other person wants." It is "I do what brings glory to God. I do what brings others under the influence of the gospel. I do what leads to peace in the church (p. 115). ~ Andrew David Naselli
Christian quotes by Andrew David Naselli
It is not brains or intelligence that is needed to cope with the problems with Plato and Aristotle and all of their successors to the present have failed to confront. What is needed is a readiness to undervalue the world altogether. This is only possible for a Christian ... All technologies and all cultures, ancient and modern, are part of our immediate expanse. There is hope in this diversity since it creates vast new possibilities of detachment and amusement at human gullibility and self-deception. There is no harm in reminding ourselves from time to time that the "Prince of this World" is a great P.R. man, a great salesman of new hardware and software, a great electric engineer, and a great master of the media. It is his master stroke to be not only environmental but invisible for the environmental is invincibly persuasive when ignored. ~ Marshall McLuhan
Christian quotes by Marshall McLuhan
Prosperity starts in ones heart not their pocket. ~ Ricky Maye
Christian quotes by Ricky Maye
Many, many people hereabouts are not becoming Christians for one reason only: there is nobody to make them Christians. ~ Francis Xavier
Christian quotes by Francis Xavier
What makes art Christian art? Is it simply Christian artists painting biblical subjects like Jeremiah? Or, by attaching a halo, does that suddenly make something Christian art? Must the artist's subject be religious to be Christian? I don't think so. There is a certain sense in which art is its own justification. If art is good art, if it is true art, if it is beautiful art, then it is bearing witness to the Author of the good, the true, and the beautiful ~ R.C. Sproul
Christian quotes by R.C. Sproul
We need to stop fighting Christian against Christian. I have no time for anything but trying to love other people. That is a full-time job. ~ Anne Rice
Christian quotes by Anne Rice
The rest of the guardians are all checking out the explosion," I realised. Pieces began coming together-including Lissa's lack of surprise over the commotion. "Oh no. You had Christian blow up ancient Moroi artifacts."
"Of course not," said Eddie. He seemed shocked that I would have suggested such an atrocity. "Other fire users would be able to tell if he did."
"Well, that's something," I said. I should have had more faith in their sanity.
Or maybe not.
"We used C4," explained Mikhail.
"Where on earth did you- ~ Richelle Mead
Christian quotes by Richelle Mead
It rests with every professor of the religion of Jesus to settle within himself to which of the two religions, that of Jesus or that of Paul, he will adhere. ~ Ferdinand Christian Baur
Christian quotes by Ferdinand Christian Baur
He never raised a hand to us. He always said that inflicting pain, even as a last resort, was a sign that intelligence had been exhausted. He said smacking just passed on violence as an inheritance. But he was not soft with his words; when he called you to order, it pulled you up sharp. It wasn't just a case of not teaching children to hit out. He believed the far more important lesson for the child was to realise that there are always words. However bad a child's behaviour, there were always more words; the time to stop talking was never a point he would reach. ~ Christian Cook
Christian quotes by Christian Cook
Christ used the flesh and blood of Mary for his life on earth, the Word of love was uttered in her heartbeat. Christ used his own body to utter his love on earth; his perfectly real body, with bone and sinew and blood and tears; Christ uses our bodies to express his love on earth, our humanity. A Christian life is a sacramental life, it is not a life lived only in the mind, only by the soul ... Our humanity is the substance of the sacramental life of Christ in us, like the wheat for the host, like the grape for the chalice. ~ Caryll Houselander
Christian quotes by Caryll Houselander
I'm marrying my common-law wife, Beth, the Christian way, with a preacher and all that. ~ Duane Chapman
Christian quotes by Duane Chapman
The goal of education by the grace of God is to create self-governing people who live under the Law of God for the glory of Christ. ~ Tim Yarbrough
Christian quotes by Tim Yarbrough
Principle of "Christian love": it insists upon being well paid in the end. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Christian quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche
No Christian and, indeed, no historian could accept the epigram which defines religion as 'what a man does with his solitude.' ~ C.S. Lewis
Christian quotes by C.S. Lewis
There has been only one Christian. They caught and curcified him-early. ~ Mark Twain
Christian quotes by Mark Twain
C. S. Lewis wrote, "To be a Christian means to forgive the inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you." Jesus said if your brother "sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him" (Luke 17:4). ~ Randy Alcorn
Christian quotes by Randy Alcorn
Christianity is not a religion at all but a way of life, a falling in love with God, and through him a falling in love with our fellows. ~ John Bertram Phillips
Christian quotes by John Bertram Phillips
Zeal, if it be well ordered, is most beautiful in a Christian; but if not, it is a thing of exceeding great danger: as fire in moderation is most comfortable, but in extremity most fearful. ~ Nehemiah Rogers
Christian quotes by Nehemiah Rogers
The best place any Christian can ever be in is to be totally destitute and totally dependant upon God, and know it. ~ Alan Redpath
Christian quotes by Alan Redpath
The Law was given by Moses; the moral law, to discover the extent and abounding sin; the ceremonial law, to point out, by typical sacrifices and ablutions, the way in which forgiveness was to be sought and obtained. But grace, to relieve us from the condemnation of the one, and truth answerable to the types and shadows of the other, came by Jesus Christ. ~ John Newton
Christian quotes by John Newton
If all the sins of the flesh are worthy of condemnation because by them man allows himself to be dominated by that which he has of the animal nature, much more deserving of condemnation are the sins against nature by which man degrades his own animal nature ... ~ Thomas Aquinas
Christian quotes by Thomas Aquinas
The leader of the Christian army - Cardinal Pelagius himself - had warned the friar from Assisi that it would be folly to traverse the battlefield between the two armies to seek out this Sultan Malik al-Kamil. ~ Paul Moses
Christian quotes by Paul Moses
Christ beats his drum, but he does not press men; Christ is served with voluntaries. ~ John Donne
Christian quotes by John Donne
The Christian life consists in what God does for us, not what we do for God. ~ Marva Dawn
Christian quotes by Marva Dawn
The power of God has not in the least bit been diminished over the past 2000 years. Our Lord still sits on His great throne and His train still fills the temple. He still walks on the wings of the wind, He still rides on the backs of the mighty cherubim, and He still is the Triumphant Champion from Calvary. All hell still bends to His will, and sin and death have lost their hold on all who rest in the shadow of His presence. And the God who calmed storms, raised up dead men to life, and multiplied fishes and loaves to feed thousands is the same God we have today. ~ Eric Ludy
Christian quotes by Eric Ludy
In Paris, I really do like to try and do nothing ... but that's impossible. ~ Christian Louboutin
Christian quotes by Christian Louboutin
Trust becomes the only road home, back to love. ~ Geoffrey Wood
Christian quotes by Geoffrey Wood
In today's Republican Party, there's a term for people who hate charity and love killing: 'Christian.' ~ Bill Maher
Christian quotes by Bill Maher
Union with God is not something we acquire by a technique but the grounding truth of our lives that engenders the very search for God. Because God is the ground of our being, the relationship between creature and Creator is such that, by sheer grace, separation is not possible. God does not know how to be absent. The fact that most of us experience throughout most of our lives a sense of absence or distance from God is the great illusion that we are caught up in; it is the human condition. The sense of separation from God is real, but the meeting of stillness reveals that this perceived separation does not have the last word.

This illusion of separation is generated by the mind and is sustained by the riveting of our attention to the interior soap opera, the constant chatter of the cocktail party going on in our heads. For most of us this is what normal is, and we are good at coming up with ways of coping with this perceived separation (our consumer-driven entertainment culture takes care of much of it). But some of us are not so good at coping, and so we drink ourselves into oblivion or cut or burn ourselves "so that the pain will be in a different place and on the outside."

The grace of salvation, the grace of Christian wholeness that flowers in silence, dispels this illusion of separation. For when the mind is brought to stillness, and all our strategies of acquisition have dropped, a deeper truth presents itself: we are and have always been one wit ~ Martin Laird
Christian quotes by Martin Laird
In the 1980s ... it was a liberal philosophy of government that changed the rules to suit its own political ends. We were forfeiting our freedoms to conform to a humanistic philosophy that was patently antireligious. ~ James G. Watt
Christian quotes by James G. Watt
When the term Christian or even Protestant is used, it seldom refers to any particularly evangelical doctrine or way of life. More often it refers to a religion accepted by the large majority, which assures them that God is not so much a Lord who demands obedience as a handyman who is available whenever we need help. ~ John Howard Yoder
Christian quotes by John Howard Yoder
God notices every one of us; there is not a sparrow or a worm that continues to live apart from His decrees. ~ Charles Spurgeon
Christian quotes by Charles Spurgeon
Here is the truly Christian life, here is faith really working by love, when a man applies himself with joy and love to the works of that freest servitude in which he serves others voluntarily and for nought, himself abundantly satisfied in the fulness and riches of his own faith. ~ Martin Luther
Christian quotes by Martin Luther
In the world God wills work, marriage, government, and church, and God wills all these, each in its own way, through Christ, toward Christ, and in Christ. God has placed human beings under all these mandates, not only each individual under one or the other, but all people under all four. There can be no retreat, therefore, from a "worldly" into a "spiritual" "realm." The practice of the Christian life can be learned only under these four mandates of God. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Christian quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
As Francis Schaeffer reminded us, "The Christian is the one whose imagination should fly beyond the stars" (5). ~ Leland Ryken
Christian quotes by Leland Ryken
God does not change - and neither does His love. He loved you before you were born ... He loves you now ... and He will love you forever. ~ Billy Graham
Christian quotes by Billy Graham
He is the greatest influence in the world today. There is ... a fifth Gospel being written - the work of Jesus Christ in the hearts and lives of men and nations. ~ William Griffith Thomas
Christian quotes by William Griffith Thomas
I was quite a successful evangelist. I've had people write to me and say, 'Gee, I'm a Christian because of you and I hear you're not a Christian, that's shocking to me.' I don't take these things lightly, but that's who I am. I can't change it. ~ Daniel Everett
Christian quotes by Daniel Everett
Your stepfather? I'd like to meet him."
Oh no ... why?
"I'm not sure that's a good idea."
Christian unlocks the door, his mouth in a grim line.
"Are you ashamed of me?"
"No!" It's my turn to sound exasperated. "Introduce you to my dad as what? 'This is the man who deflowered me and wants to start a BDSM relationship'. You're not wearing running shoes. ~ E.L. James
Christian quotes by E.L. James
What, then, of the priest's iconic representation of Christ at the altar? If there is no specifically masculine or feminine charism or ontology, the significance of the priest's maleness fades away. What matters - as patristic Christology recognized centuries ago with its dictum, 'That which is not assumed [by the Son of God in the incarnation] is not healed' - is that Christ became human, assuming and thereby healing the nature common to men and women. Although biologically a man, Christ assumed human nature in such a way as to include both men and women in his salvific work. And that means, in turn, that to refuse to allow a woman to preside at the Eucharist may be to say much more than opponents of women's ordination realize - namely, 'that women are not adequate icons of Christ.' The result, notes [Sarah] Hinlicky Wilson near the end of her book, is nothing less than 'to leave both their humanity and their salvation in doubt.' If women can't reflect the human nature of Christ at the altar, how then can they trust Christ's human nature to save them at all? ~ Wesley Hill
Christian quotes by Wesley Hill
Beware the unbelief of others. It's contagious! ~ Jim George
Christian quotes by Jim George
Stop focusing on what's wrong with everyone else and start focusing on how blessed you are. ~ Joyce Meyer
Christian quotes by Joyce Meyer
Us and them" religion is poison to the soul, and it often takes a lifetime of humiliation to detoxify us from it. In the Christian tradition, those who are ~ Jonathan Martin
Christian quotes by Jonathan Martin
to the world. God created both body and soul, and the resurrection of Jesus shows that he is going to redeem both body and soul. The work of the Spirit of God is not only to save souls but also to care and cultivate the face of the earth, the material world. It is hard to overemphasize the uniqueness of this vision. Outside of the Bible, no other major religious faith holds out any hope or even interest in the restoration of perfect shalom, justice, and wholeness in this material world. Vinoth Ramachandra, a Sri Lankan Christian writer, can see ~ Timothy J. Keller
Christian quotes by Timothy J. Keller
God can enter into me, even me, and use these hands, these feet, to be His love, a love that goes on and on and on forever, endless cycle of grace. ~ Ann Voskamp
Christian quotes by Ann Voskamp
Jesus will judge us not only for what we did, but also for what we could have done and didn't. ~ George Otis
Christian quotes by George Otis
Amma Theodora said: A certain monk, afflicted by many sorrows, said to himself, "Leave this place." With these words he began to put his sandals on his feet, and suddenly he saw the devil in the form of a man sitting in the corner of his cell. The devil was also putting on his sandals. He said to the monk, "Are you leaving here because of me? Well then, wherever you go, I will be there before you." ~ Ignatius Bryanchaninov
Christian quotes by Ignatius Bryanchaninov
I am indebted to my wife Coretta, without whose love, sacrifices, and loyalty neither life nor work would bring fulfillment. She has given me words of consolation when I needed them and a well-ordered home where #Christian love is a reality. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
