We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented. ~ Ed Harris
Truman Show quotes by Ed Harris
Hysterical in The Mask; funny yet moving in The Truman Show. ~ Jim Carrey
Truman Show quotes by Jim Carrey
When you first saw 'The Truman Show,' did anyone else walk around for the next week not picking your nose just in case? ~ Anna Kendrick
Truman Show quotes by Anna Kendrick
For The Truman Show, I worked for a few weeks, do my gig, then I was done. ~ Ed Harris
Truman Show quotes by Ed Harris
The question isn't who will be with me in life, rather how will I create the ending I am proud of? ~ Shannon L. Alder
Truman Show quotes by Shannon L. Alder
I have sometimes been haunted with the idea that it was an imperative duty, knowing what I know, and having seen what I have seen, to do all that lies in my power to show the dangers and the evils of this frightful institution. ~ Fanny Kemble
Truman Show quotes by Fanny Kemble
I would love to be employed for the rest of my life ... But what I would want to do is things that would frighten me, things that would scare me. I've never done that before; can I do that, can I show them that I can do it? ~ Nathan Fillion
Truman Show quotes by Nathan Fillion
There is reason to suspect, that the distinctions of mankind have more show than value, when it is found that all agree to be weary alike of pleasures and of cares; that the powerful and the weak, the celebrated and obscure, join in one common wish, and implore from nature's hand the nectar of oblivion. ~ Samuel Johnson
Truman Show quotes by Samuel Johnson
Once you start pushing your standards up, demons come out and show themselves behind the mask. I don't oppose anyone by nature but if someone opposes me, they reveal themselves as my enemy and enemies of anyone that wishes to be by my side. Besides, as you improve your life and move forward, the ones that weren't honest with you will certainly disappear. The opposite of this truth has consequences and they commonly come in the form of betrayal, deception, shock, abandonment and trauma. Life does not forgive or sympathizes with the ignorant. It never did. Such fact comes in the form of what many see as bad luck. ~ Robin Sacredfire
Truman Show quotes by Robin Sacredfire
It's okay to be impatient. As long as you show your patience on the outside. ~ Lisa M. Cronkhite
Truman Show quotes by Lisa M. Cronkhite
China is an old nation with a colourful history. Its booming economy has triggered an appetite and a curiosity around the world for its art and culture, one that continues to grow. I can, however, tell people that it is a show with no actor. ~ Ai Weiwei
Truman Show quotes by Ai Weiwei
The cat who wants his bowl of cream must know when to purr and when to show his claws - Ser Kyle, the Cat of Misty Moor ~ George R R Martin
Truman Show quotes by George R R Martin
Kids kill a show! It's, like, a fun concept when the character is pregnant, but then if a show runs for a while, I'm sorry, but it gets annoying when it starts to talk. You get a child actor in there, and unless that child actor is freakin' awesome, it's going to be annoying. ~ Eliza Coupe
Truman Show quotes by Eliza Coupe
I just want the days of my life to add up to something. The way every day of your life, the way it can just disappear in front of the television, Denny says he wants a rock to show for each day. Something tangible. Just one thing. A little monument to mark the end of each day. ~ Chuck Palahniuk
Truman Show quotes by Chuck Palahniuk
A word in a dictionary is very much like a car in a mammoth motor show - full of potential but temporarily inactive. ~ Anthony Burgess
Truman Show quotes by Anthony Burgess
I'm taking this time to create my day and I'm infecting the quantum field. Now if (it) is in fact the observer's watching me the whole time that I'm doing this and there is a spiritual aspect to myself, then show me a sign today that you paid attention to any one of these things that I created, and bring them in a way that I won't expect, so I'm as surprised at my ability to be able to experience these things. And make it so that I have no doubt that it's come from you,' and so I live my life, in a sense, all day long thinking about being a genius or thinking about being the glory and the power of God or thinking about being unconditional love. ~ Joe Dispenza
Truman Show quotes by Joe Dispenza
SONNET 43
When most I wink, then do mine eyes best see,
For all the day they view things unrespected;
But when I sleep, in dreams they look on thee,
And darkly bright are bright in dark directed.
Then thou, whose shadow shadows doth make bright,
How would thy shadow's form form happy show
To the clear day with thy much clearer light,
When to unseeing eyes thy shade shines so!
How would, I say, mine eyes be blessed made
By looking on thee in the living day,
When in dead night thy fair imperfect shade
Through heavy sleep on sightless eyes doth stay!
All days are nights to see till I see thee,
And nights bright days when dreams do show thee me. ~ William Shakespeare
Truman Show quotes by William Shakespeare
All that is required is to know this. For you are the creator of your reality, and life can show up no other way for you than that way in which you think it will. ~ Neale Donald Walsch
Truman Show quotes by Neale Donald Walsch
You have to be engaged, or else you're not going to want to show up and go to work. ~ Geoff Stults
Truman Show quotes by Geoff Stults
I find it weird when [model] agents say, 'You're the only black girl booked for the show. Isn't it great?' Why is it great? ~ Jourdan Dunn
Truman Show quotes by Jourdan Dunn
I call it 'new forms'. When you're starting out, they ask you to do four or five minute sets, but once you're a headliner, you do like 90 minutes. I try to think of different things to divvy up the show, like doing drawings, playing music ... I gotta carry the show, that's the problem. ~ Demetri Martin
Truman Show quotes by Demetri Martin
Be the lighthouse that bears the torment of the storm, but never forget to show the saving lights of life. ~ Debasish Mridha
Truman Show quotes by Debasish Mridha
I suspect it's because Truman Democrats have been replaced by Gruber Democrats - self-styled elitists who feed lavishly at the public trough and think government should serve them, not the hoi polloi they disdain and deceive. ~ Jack Kelly
Truman Show quotes by Jack Kelly
When it comes to exploring the mind in the framework of cognitive neuroscience, the maximal yield of data comes from integrating what a person experiences - the first person - with what the measurements show - the third person. ~ Daniel Goleman
Truman Show quotes by Daniel Goleman
Show me a man with very little money and I will show you a bum. ~ Joe E. Lewis
Truman Show quotes by Joe E. Lewis
Don't tell 'em - SHOW 'em! ~ George M. Cohan
Truman Show quotes by George M. Cohan
The Germans take quite a knock for the holocaust, but the Catholic church manages to push more people into death, disease, and degradation every year than the holocaust managed in its entire show. And it's thought rather crass to even mention the fact. It seems to me that as long as these Catholic bishops can show their face in public that we are in complicity with mass murder. ~ Terence McKenna
Truman Show quotes by Terence McKenna
We don't have to do this," I said.
His jaw set in a way that reminded me of how he'd look some times back in grade school, standing around the fringes of s kickball game or on that bench by Mr. Lloyd's room. "We do, though."
I shook my head, staring at the house. Right then, a woman walked out, carrying a bag of trash. "Let's ask her if we can go in," Cameron said.
"Go in?"
He turned to me. "Yeah."
I lowered my voice to a whisper. "Shouldn't we, like, talk about it first? About what happened?"
"Why? We know what happened."
"I can't."
"But I'm with you. We're together."
My eyes filled. He looked out the window. The woman went back in the house and closed the door. "We can come back some other time," I said, "after we've talked." I put the car in drive. "Let's go somewhere. Coffee. Something."
"Doesn't matte." His jaw was set again, his voice dead flat.
"It does matter, Cameron. That's the point. If it didn't matter I could just go in right now. I'm not ready. You can't just show up after all these years and expect me to be ready." He opened the door and started to get out. "Wait, where are you going?"
"Sorry I came here and messed up your life."
"That's not what I said!" But he was out of the car, walking down the block, away from me. ~ Sara Zarr
Truman Show quotes by Sara Zarr
when someone else shows or tries to show an overly positive image of himself or herself to them, people generally tend to dissociate. They start thinking of the other person as someone different, someone they don't actually know and can never completely trust. ~ Prem Jagyasi
Truman Show quotes by Prem Jagyasi
Nothing is more enjoyable for me than when I'm watching a movie or a TV show and there's that sense that anything can happen. It is the most fun feeling in the world. ~ Adam McKay
Truman Show quotes by Adam McKay
The foundation of our faith is not a book, although the Bible is an essential and divinely inspired witness to what God has done and desires of us in turn; nor is it a set of laws, although the commands of God show the way to salvation. The foundation of our faith is the one whom God sent, his Son who has a name, Jesus, the Word of life who could be heard, seen and touched (1 John 1,1). Faith is a personal response to this Lord who died to save us. ~ Francis George
Truman Show quotes by Francis George
Be true to yourself and the right people and resources always show up.

The Universe always conspires for the right meetings to occur.

Everything is unfolding as it should. It really is. ~ Maria Erving
Truman Show quotes by Maria Erving
The Lord does not show Himself to a proud soul. The proud soul, no matter how many books it reads, will never know God, since by its pride it does not give place for the grace of the Holy Spirit, while God is known only by the humble soul. ~ Silouan The Athonite
Truman Show quotes by Silouan The Athonite
I've tried to believe, but I don't, I can't, and there's no use pretending. ~ Truman Capote
Truman Show quotes by Truman Capote
The world won't show you mercy when you need it most. ~ Logan Egle
Truman Show quotes by Logan Egle
Ours is a society in which secrets of private life that, formerly, you would have given nearly anything to conceal, you now clamor to get on a television show to reveal. ~ Susan Sontag
Truman Show quotes by Susan Sontag
...if God is a man, I am screwed, for there is nothing men like more than to show their omnipotence over others, leaving in their path only scorched earth. ~ Kergan Edwards-Stout
Truman Show quotes by Kergan Edwards-Stout
And I thought how many satisfied, happy people really do exist in this world! And what a powerful force they are! Just take a look at this life of ours and you will see the arrogance and idleness of the strong, the ignorance and bestiality of the weak. Everywhere there's unspeakable poverty, overcrowding, degeneracy, drunkenness, hypocrisy and stupid lies... And yet peace and quiet reign in every house and street. Out of fifty thousand people you won't find one who is prepared to shout out loud and make a strong protest. We see people buying food in the market, eating during the day, sleeping at night-time, talking nonsense, marrying, growing old and then contentedly carting their dead off to the cemetery. But we don't hear or see those who suffer: the real tragedies of life are enacted somewhere behind the scenes. Everything is calm and peaceful and the only protest comes from statistics - and they can't talk. Figures show that so many went mad, so many bottles of vodka were emptied, so many children died from malnutrition. And clearly this kind of system is what people need. It,s obvious that the happy man feels contented only because the unhappy ones bear their burden without saying a word: if it weren't for their silence, happiness would be quite impossible. It's a kind of mass hypnosis. Someone ought to stand with a hammer at the door of every contented man, continually banging on it to remind him that there are unhappy people around and that however happy he may be at t ~ Anton Chekhov
Truman Show quotes by Anton Chekhov
Upon the King! Let us our lives, our souls,
Our debts, our careful wives,
Our children, and our sins, lay on the King!
We must bear all. O hard condition,
Twin-born with greatness, subject to the breath
Of every fool, whose sense no more can feel
But his own wringing! What infinite heart's ease
Must kings neglect that private men enjoy!
And what have kings that privates have not too,
Save ceremony- save general ceremony?
And what art thou, thou idol Ceremony?
What kind of god art thou, that suffer'st more
Of mortal griefs than do thy worshippers?
What are thy rents? What are thy comings-in?
O Ceremony, show me but thy worth!
What is thy soul of adoration?
Art thou aught else but place, degree, and form,
Creating awe and fear in other men?
Wherein thou art less happy being fear'd
Than they in fearing.
What drink'st thou oft, instead of homage sweet,
But poison'd flattery? O, be sick, great greatness,
And bid thy ceremony give thee cure!
Thinks thou the fiery fever will go out
With titles blown from adulation?
Will it give place to flexure and low bending?
Canst thou, when thou command'st the beggar's knee,
Command the health of it? No, thou proud dream,
That play'st so subtly with a king's repose.
I am a king that find thee; and I know
'Tis not the balm, the sceptre, and the ball,
The sword, the ~ William Shakespeare
Truman Show quotes by William Shakespeare
In the political language of today, people who want to keep what they have earned are said to be greedy, while those who wish to take their earnings from them and give it to others (who will vote for them in return) show compassion. ~ Thomas Sowell
Truman Show quotes by Thomas Sowell
And I will show of male and female that either is but the equal of the other. ~ Walt Whitman
Truman Show quotes by Walt Whitman
I literally get up and get to do the one thing I dreamed about doing every day. And that is being a part of a television show and a radio show that is based in Hollywood. ~ Ryan Seacrest
Truman Show quotes by Ryan Seacrest
My Meema, her favorite show was 'Dallas.' She made the family watch. She loved to hate J.R. She passed away when I was 12, and I know she's looking down on me going, 'Oh, my goodness. How are you on the show? I am so proud of you and why in the hell are you playing J.R.'s son?' ~ Josh Henderson
Truman Show quotes by Josh Henderson
Believe that the anointing of God will find a way - even where you yourself don't see that there is a way. The anointing of the Lord will show the way - whatever the day and age, situation or country you may be living in. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Truman Show quotes by Sunday Adelaja
I recently did the David Letterman Show about my book. He was very serious and made no jokes and it caught me off guard a little bit. He was much more serious than some of the joke shows that journalists get on. ~ Bob Woodward
Truman Show quotes by Bob Woodward
If Eric's a demon," I said slowly, "that makes you a ... "
"Rogue demon hunter."
I blinked. "Lost in the Buffyverse, are we?"
"That show was a real pain in my ass," he muttered. ~ Lori Handeland
Truman Show quotes by Lori Handeland
When you visit Gindaco, spend some time watching the cooks make takoyaki before ordering, because it's an amazing free show. The shop has an industrial-sized takoyaki griddle with dozens of hot cast iron wells, each one about an inch and a half in diameter. The cook squirts the grill with plenty of vegetable oil. She dunks a pitcher into a barrel of pancake batter and sloshes it over the grill, then strews the whole area with negi, ginger, and huge, tender octopus chunks. Some of Gindaco's purple tentacles are two inches long. This cooks for a little while, then the cook tops off the grill with more batter until it's nearly full.
Up to this point, the process looks haphazard, but then she whips out the skewers. Using only the same slender bamboo skewers you'd use for making kebabs, she begins slicing through the batter in a grid pattern and forming a ball in each well. Somehow she herds this ocean of batter into a grid of takoyaki in a minute or two.
The takoyaki cost all of 500 yen, and the price includes a wooden serving boat that you can take home and reuse as a bath toy if you haven't gotten too much sauce on it. A Gindaco takoyaki is a brilliant morsel: full of flavor from the negi and ginger, crispy on the outside and juicy within. Takoyaki also stay mouth-searingly hot inside for longer than you can stand to wait, so be careful. ~ Matthew Amster-Burton
Truman Show quotes by Matthew Amster-Burton
These days, checks are direct-deposited, money comes out of a machine in the wall, and we swipe a plastic card to make a purchase. In other words, your kids can grow up thinking money comes in an endless supply if you don't show them otherwise. ~ Jean Chatzky
Truman Show quotes by Jean Chatzky
SHOW THE WORLD YOUR STRONG COMPASSION!
GIVE YOUR VOICE TO VOICELESS KOBANE KIDS! ~ Widad Akreyi
Truman Show quotes by Widad Akreyi
I hope no one asks me to show them the ropes; I have no idea where they are. Maybe I could pull some strings and find out. ~ George Carlin
