The thing is - any author on the internet doesn't weigh nearly enough as an author in the real world. ~ Joel Landau
Source Journalism quotes by Joel Landau
One thing I learned as a journalist is that there is at least one disgruntled person in every workplace in America
and at least double that number with a conscience. Hard as they try, they simply can't turn their heads away from an injustice when they see one taking place. ~ Michael Moore
Source Journalism quotes by Michael Moore
As an independent source of authority and knowledge, science has always had the capacity to challenge ruling powers' ability to control people by controlling their beliefs. Indeed, it has the power to challenge anyone who wishes to preserve, protect, or defend the status quo. ~ Naomi Oreskes
Source Journalism quotes by Naomi Oreskes
We are at the moment looking at space as something to be entered by the tremendous thrust of a rocket because that is the attitude of attacking the unknown. And that causes us not to realize that we are already on the most magnificently equipped spaceship, which could hardly be improved upon. It has got a source of temperature and energy just at the right distance from it. It's beautifully equipped with oxygen, with food supplies, with all kinds of delightful things to do while on the journey ... and it's traveling through space at a colossal speed ... and it's called the planet Earth. ~ Alan Watts
Source Journalism quotes by Alan Watts
The lowest form of popular culture - lack of information, misinformation, disinformation, and a contempt for the truth or the reality of most people's lives - has overrun real journalism. Today, ordinary Americans are being stuffed with garbage. ~ Carl Bernstein
Source Journalism quotes by Carl Bernstein
The 'verbalizers' may eventually be successful in careers where verbal abilities are an advantage, for example journalism or the legal professions, ~ Tony Attwood
Source Journalism quotes by Tony Attwood
Rest in God, my soul. He is the source of my hope ~ Sara Poole
Source Journalism quotes by Sara Poole
Thou art imperishable. Thou art changeless reality. Thou art the source of life. ~ Swami Prabhavananda
Source Journalism quotes by Swami Prabhavananda
These women are, quite simply, alive; they know that the source of true values is not in external things but in human hearts. This gives its charm to the world they live in: they banish ennui by the simple fact of their presence, with their dreams, their desires, their pleasures, their emotions, their ingenuities. The sanseverina, that 'active soul' dreads ennui more than death. To stagnate in ennui 'is to keep from dying, she said, not to live'; she is ' always impassioned over something, always in action and gay too '. Thoughtless, childish or profound, gay or grave, daring or secretive, they all reject the heavy sleep in which humanity is mired. And these women who have been able to maintain their liberty- empty as it has been- will rise through passion to heroism once they find an objective worthy of them; their spiritual power, their energy, suggest the fierce purity of total dedication ~ Simone De Beauvoir
Source Journalism quotes by Simone De Beauvoir
My fullest concentration of energy is available to me only when I integrate all the parts of who I am, openly, allowing power from particular sources of my living to flow back and forth freely through all my different selves, without the restriction of externally imposed definition. ~ Audre Lorde
Source Journalism quotes by Audre Lorde
THE MANDATE OF CREATION is a source both of glory and of shame for the Christian community. ~ James Davison Hunter
Source Journalism quotes by James Davison Hunter
When I pursued an education in healing in the USA in 1984, I was told that I had the capacity to become a crownchakrahealer, a spiritual healer, to act as a channel and catalyst for spiritual energy from the 7th chakra through the heart. At that time I had no idea what a crownchakrahealer really was and since than it has been a continuous process during the last 17 years to deepen and develop my understanding about what a crownchakrahealer is. This process has resulted in a way of working I call "Synchronicity – Transmission of the Light", which uses healing and energy work from the Source on a formless level. With this way of working I have worked with groups up to 80 people. It is really a way of working, which goes around the ego and speaks directly to the heart. It allows a person to come in direct contact with his own inner being, with his own life source. With my intellect I still do not understand how this way of working functions. It is not a way of working, which can be understood on a method plane. It is a way of working, which relates directly to the heart and which can only be understood through insight and experience.
One participant in Gothenburg in Sweden described his experience of Synchronicity as being like a thousand suns suddenly had been lit in his own consciousness. He says: "It was like an inner explosion, an expansion of my own consciousness – and I felt only love for the other people in the room". ~ Swami Dhyan Giten
Source Journalism quotes by Swami Dhyan Giten
Christians must revive a centuries-old view of humankind as made in the image of God, the eternal Craftsman, and of work as a source of fulfillment and blessing not as a necessary drudgery to be undergone for the purpose of making money, but as a way of life in which the nature of man should find its proper exercise and delight and so fulfill itself to the glory of God. That it should, in fact, be thought of as a creative activity undertaken for the love of the work itself; and that man, made in God's image, should make things, as God makes them, for the sake of doing well a thing that is well worth doing. ~ Dorothy L. Sayers
Source Journalism quotes by Dorothy L. Sayers
There is a young and impressionable mind out there that is hungry for information. It has latched on to an electronic tube as its main source of nourishment. ~ Joan Ganz Cooney
Source Journalism quotes by Joan Ganz Cooney
Libraries are the future of reading. When the economy is down, we need to make it easier for people to buy and read books for free, not harder. It is stupid to sacrifice tomorrow's book buyers for today's dollars, especially when it's obvious that the source in question doesn't have any more dollars to give you. ~ Courtney Milan
Source Journalism quotes by Courtney Milan
And after about two years, I realized that creative writing was not going to help you ace those biological tests. So I switched over to journalism. I didn't graduate with honors, but I did graduate on time and with some doing. ~ Bob Schieffer
Source Journalism quotes by Bob Schieffer
When two people respect each other, the ability to be vulnerable and to reveal hurt feelings can create a powerful emotional connection that is the source of real intimacy and friendship. ~ David D. Burns
Source Journalism quotes by David D. Burns
What is al Qaeda? It's an open source religious political movement that works off the global supply chain. ~ Thomas Friedman
Source Journalism quotes by Thomas Friedman
There are other sources, but Wikipedia is a good start. ~ Ru Freeman
Source Journalism quotes by Ru Freeman
as long as you can give people the freedom to disagree, reject, dislike, and oppose you without taking it personally or allowing it to weaken your resolve, you will tap into a new source of power that few men ever realize in their lifetime. I ~ Bruce Bryans
Source Journalism quotes by Bruce Bryans
The British are supposed to be particularly averse to intellectuals, a prejudice closely bound up with their dislike of foreigners. Indeed, one important source of this Anglo-Saxon distaste for highbrows and eggheads was the French revolution, which was seen as an attempt to reconstruct society on the basis of abstract rational principles. ~ Terry Eagleton
Source Journalism quotes by Terry Eagleton
The only true source of infallible certainty is divine illumination. ~ Stephen R. Lawhead
Source Journalism quotes by Stephen R. Lawhead
I find I journalize too tediously. Let me try to abbreviate. ~ James Boswell
Source Journalism quotes by James Boswell
Billos ran. He tore down the shore, bounded up on the rock, and dove into the air.
The warm water engulfed him. A boiling heat knocked the wind from his lungs. The shock alone might kill him.
But it was pleasure that surged through his body, not pain. The sensations coursed through his bones in great unrelenting waves.
Elyon.
How he was certain, he did not know. But he knew. Elyon was in this lake with him.
Billos opened his eyes. Gold light drifted by. He lost all sense of direction. The water pressed in on every inch of his body, as intense as any acid, but one that burned with pleasure instead of pain.
He sank into the water, opened his mouth and laughed. He wanted more, much more. He wanted to suck the water in and drink it.
Without thinking, he did just that. The liquid hit his lungs. Billos pulled up, panicked. He tried to hack the water from his lungs, but inhaled more instead. No pain. He carefully sucked more water and breathed it out slowly. Then again, deep and hard. Out with a soft whoosh. He was breathing the water!
Billos shrieked with laughter. He swam into the lake, deeper and deeper. The power contained in this lake was far greater than anything he'd ever imagined.
"I made this, Billos."
Billos whipped his body around, searching for the words' source. "Elyon?" His voice was muffled, hardly a voice at all.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes!" Billos said. He might have spoken; he might have shouted-- ~ Ted Dekker
Source Journalism quotes by Ted Dekker
I think spirituality is probably one of the most important things. I feel that I'm a spiritual person and as long as you're walking on that path, you have a communication with God - that's spiritual to me. That spirituality is something that emanates through all of us and is the source energy, and that energy makes everything stronger. ~ LaToya Jackson
Source Journalism quotes by LaToya Jackson
Great compassion is the root of altruistic action, the object of amazement to the world;there is no greater source of help and happiness. ~ Dalai Lama XIV
Source Journalism quotes by Dalai Lama XIV
If your work becomes a source of enjoyment and a challenge, it will never seem like work - it will be fun. If you ever feel that your work is a burden, there is no point carrying on with it. ~ Kapil Dev
Source Journalism quotes by Kapil Dev
Ambition is a very dangerous thing because either you achieve it and your life ends prematurely, or you don't, in which case your life is a constant source of disappointment. You must never have ambition. ~ Jeremy Clarkson
Source Journalism quotes by Jeremy Clarkson
If you want a solid future, you need to create it. You can take charge of your future only when you take control of your income source. You need your own business. ~ Robert Kiyosaki
Source Journalism quotes by Robert Kiyosaki
Art can't be compared with journalism; it can't deal with concrete issues. ~ Mona Hatoum
Source Journalism quotes by Mona Hatoum
It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are. ~ E. E. Cummings
Source Journalism quotes by E. E. Cummings
There are many ways to seek wisdom. There is travel, there are masters, there is service. There is staring into the eyes of children and elders and lovers and strangers. There is sitting silently in one spot and there is being swept along in life's turbulent current. Life itself will grant you wisdom in ways you may neither understand nor choose. It is up to you to be open to all these sources of wisdom and to embrace them with your whole heart. ~ Kent Nerburn
Source Journalism quotes by Kent Nerburn
That Christ has from the beginning been intending to point His hearers to Himself as the source of all spiritual life is plain from the language He uses. The hunger and thirst that He satisfies is not physical hunger or physical thirst. Instead, the one who "hungers after righteousness" is the one who finds satisfaction in Christ Jesus. There is no limit to the supply of spiritual food that can be provided by Christ the Lord. His is a never-ending store of satisfaction for all who hunger and thirst for truth and righteousness. ~ James R. White
Source Journalism quotes by James R. White
Rediscovering the controversies that occupied early Christianity sharpens our awareness of the major issue in the whole debate, then and now: What is the source of religious authority? For the Christian the question takes more specific form: What is the relation between the authority of ones own experience and that claimed for the scriptures, the ritual and the clergy? ~ Elaine Pagels
Source Journalism quotes by Elaine Pagels
The first and most basic task of the minister of tomorrow is to clarify the immense confusion which can arise when people enter this new internal world. It is a painful fact indeed to realize how poorly prepared most Christian leaders prove to be when they are invited to be spiritual leaders in the true sense.
Most of them are used to thinking in terms of large-scale organization, getting people together in churches … running the show as a circus director. They have become unfamiliar with, and even somewhat afraid of, the deep and significant movements of the Spirit. I am afraid that in a few decades the Church will be accused of having failed in its most basic task: to offer men creative ways to communicate with the source of human life. ~ Henri J.M. Nouwen
Source Journalism quotes by Henri J.M. Nouwen
Journalism is the entertainment business. ~ Frank Herbert
Source Journalism quotes by Frank Herbert
I am a big believer that you have to nourish any relationship. I am still very much a part of my friends' lives and they are very much a part of my life. A First Lady who does not have this source of strength and comfort can lose perspective and become isolated. ~ Nancy Reagan
Source Journalism quotes by Nancy Reagan
The world is agreed that labor is the source from which human wants are mainly supplied. There is no dispute upon this point. ~ Abraham Lincoln
Source Journalism quotes by Abraham Lincoln
The free press guarantee does not only protect corporate reporters but anyone engaged in journalism, whether employed or not. ~ Glenn Greenwald
Source Journalism quotes by Glenn Greenwald
What he [Michael Jackson] did was he allowed us, through his voice and his instrument, to see a glimpse of the heaven that he himself was denied. That sacrifice was the ultimate source of redemption that he gave to us. ~ Michael Eric Dyson
Source Journalism quotes by Michael Eric Dyson
They forget that the Woman is the source of mercy and joy
Many men do respect her greatness, except the playboy
We sail in life searching for fair equality
We should not focus on gender but our humanity ~ Yasser Kashef
Source Journalism quotes by Yasser Kashef
The combination of power, fear, and mania can be deadly. The leader, convinced that he might be betrayed, acts first and betrays others first. Afraid that he's not well liked, he works so hard to get others to like him that it has the opposite effect. Convinced of mismanagement, he micromanages and becomes the source of the mismanagement. And on and on - the things we fear or dread, we blindly inflict on ourselves. ~ Ryan Holiday
Source Journalism quotes by Ryan Holiday
Incidentally, am I alone in finding the expression "it turns out" to be incredibly useful? It allows you to make swift, succinct, and authoritative connections between otherwise randomly unconnected statements without the trouble of explaining what your source or authority actually is. It's great. It's hugely better than its predecessors "I read somewhere that ... " or the craven "they say that ... " because it suggests not only that whatever flimsy bit of urban mythology you are passing on is actually based on brand new, ground breaking research, but that it is research in which you yourself were intimately involved. But again, with no actual authority anywhere in sight. Anyway, where was I? ~ Douglas Adams
Source Journalism quotes by Douglas Adams
Hi, this is a user adding an obviously fake quote. I'm doing this because I'm tired of seeing fake Tom Hiddleston quotes and information on the web. Especially the fake love quote. I'm doing this to show you how easy it is to create fake information on the web. Don't believe everything you read on the web, especially on low quality sites where users add stuff, like this site. Only believe stuff from quality journalism. ~ Tom Hiddleston
Source Journalism quotes by Tom Hiddleston
Flattery is addictive. Convince others they are special. Assure them they have talent. Make yourself the source of people's self worth. Doing so binds them to you and it preempts them from developing their skills and proving their true potential. ~ Chuck Palahniuk
Source Journalism quotes by Chuck Palahniuk
The very act of committing an experience to the page is necessarily an act of reduction, and regardless of craft or skill, vision or voice, the result is a story beholden to and inevitably eclipsed by source material. ~ Bret Anthony Johnston
Source Journalism quotes by Bret Anthony Johnston
What is striking about such unmediated juxtapositions, and relevant to the way in which at the end of war opened bodies and verbal issues are placed side by side, is that in most instances the verbal assertion has no source of substantiation other than the body. ~ Elaine Scarry
Source Journalism quotes by Elaine Scarry
It s amazing that the amount of news that happens in the world every day always just exactly fits the newspaper. ~ Jerry Seinfeld
Source Journalism quotes by Jerry Seinfeld
This is perdition: the things to which the heart was attached pass away while the person himself, who is an eternal being, is filled with nothing but emptiness when he should have been filled with God Himself. That is why it is so very important that we turn our focus inward to the source of life that lives forever, even as we ourselves will live forever. ~ Johan Oscar Smith
Source Journalism quotes by Johan Oscar Smith
Consciousness, rather than being an epiphenomenon of matter, is actually the source of matter. It differentiates into space time, energy, information, and matter. Even though this view is an ancient view, an ancient world view, it is now finding some resonance amongst a few scientists. ~ Deepak Chopra
