My cousin was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, and it's just a really tragic disease, and as of yet there is no cure, so I feel I want to get it as much publicity to do it as I can. ~ Nick Robinson
Publicity quotes by Nick Robinson
All publicity is good publicity. ~ Pierre-Ambroise Choderlos De Laclos
Publicity quotes by Pierre-Ambroise Choderlos De Laclos
Women's soccer is not heavily publicized, so when you have an opportunity to be in a big magazine that publicity can be good. It definitely helpes as far as awareness about women's soccer. ~ Heather Mitts
Publicity quotes by Heather Mitts
....the line of ill-intentional Egyptologist, equipped with a ferocious erudition , have commited their well known crime against science, by becoming guilty of a deliberate falsification of the history of humanity.
Supported by the governing powers of all the Western countries , this ideology, based on a moral and intellectual swindle, easily won out over the true scientific current developed by a parallel group of Egyptologist of good will, whose intellectual uprightness and even courage cannot be stressed stronly enough.
The new Egyptological ideology , born at the opportune monment, reinforced the theorectical bases of imperialist ideology. That is why it easily drowned out the voice of science, by throwing the veil of fasificacation over historical truth. This ideology was spread with the help of considerable publicity and taught the world over, because it alone had the material and financial means for its own propagation.
Thus imperialism, like the prehistoric hunter, first killed the being spiritually and culturally, before trying to eliminate it physically. The negation of the history and intellectual accomplishments of Black Africans was cultural, mental murder, which preceded and paved the way for their genocide here and there in the world. ~ Cheikh Anta Diop
Publicity quotes by Cheikh Anta Diop
Publicity has another social function. The fact that this function has not been planned as a purpose by those make and use publicity in no way lessens its significance. Publicity turns consumption into a substitute for democracy. ~ John Berger
Publicity quotes by John Berger
Eventually Frances was credited with writing 325 scripts covering every conceivable genre. She also directed and produced half a dozen films, was the first Allied woman to cross the Rhine in World War I, and served as the vice president and only woman on the first board of directors of the Screen Writers Guild. She painted, sculpted, spoke several languages fluently, and played "concert caliber" piano. Yet she claimed writing was "the refuge of the shy" and she shunned publicity; she was uncomfortable as a heroine, but she refused to be a victim. ~ Cari Beauchamp
Publicity quotes by Cari Beauchamp
By diminishing the value of silence, publicity has also diminished that of language. The two are inseparable: knowing how to speak has always meant knowing how to keep silent, knowing that there are times when one should say nothing. ~ Octavio Paz
Publicity quotes by Octavio Paz
The first thing I did when I was forty years old, I put handcuffs on and I jumped off Alcatraz prison and swam to San Francisco handcuffed. That made national publicity. Then, there were three or four years where I would do more difficult feats. Another birthday I towed a thousand pound boat across the Golden Gate. On my 65th Birthday I towed 65 boats a mile and a half in Tokyo. On my 70th Birthday I towed 70 boats with 70 people in it with my feet and hands tied a mile and a half in Long Beach ... My next Birthday I will be 93. I'm gonna tow my wife across the bathtub. ~ Jack LaLanne
Publicity quotes by Jack LaLanne
I'm not that kind of publicity, attention-grabber type of artist. ~ Jessica Simpson
Publicity quotes by Jessica Simpson
When Clark Gable, MGM's most popular and famous leading man asked for a percentage of the profits from his films, he was flatly refused. A top executive was reported to have said, He's nobody. We took him from nobody. We lavished him with lessons and publicity and now he's the most desired man in the world. Who taught him how to walk? We straightened his teeth and capped them into that smile. We taught this dumb cluck how to depict great emotions, and now he wants a piece of the action? Never! ~ Jeanine Basinger
Publicity quotes by Jeanine Basinger
Remain humble in your journey as an author and your audience will embrace you. Remain grateful for every publicity opportunity that comes your way, and the media will embrace you. ~ Linda F. Radke
Publicity quotes by Linda F. Radke
Writers Are Insane. For months we are lone wolves locked in our caves. Then overnight we become publicity hounds. It's a schizophrenic business. ~ Robert Mykle
Publicity quotes by Robert Mykle
The souls you have got cast upon the screen of publicity appear like the horrid and writhing creatures enlarged from the insect world, and revealed to us by the cinematograph. ~ James Larkin
Publicity quotes by James Larkin
It's time, friends. Time to give back. Time to step out and risk more than we want. Time to dream dreams bigger than we imagined. Time to mourn with those who mourn, to bring beauty where there are ashes, to announce a new season in the world. This isn't mere altruism or sympathy; it's more than a tax write-off or publicity stunt. It's a shot at living the lives we were meant to live, that the world needs us to live, that we're scared to live. ~ Jeff Goins
Publicity quotes by Jeff Goins
I'm interested in what happens to people when they get into that publicity machine. We tend to think things have changed, but there's still a deep sexism underlying the way women are treated publicly. ~ Erica Jong
Publicity quotes by Erica Jong
Publicity is justly commended as a remedy for social and industrial diseases. Sunlight is said to be the best of disinfectants; electric light the most efficient policeman. ~ Louis D. Brandeis
Publicity quotes by Louis D. Brandeis
I do a lot of sexy publicity, but I have yet to have any bad experiences regarding jealousy. ~ Brooke Burke
Publicity quotes by Brooke Burke
Most of the people on Death Row are here for no other reason than that their case got more publicity than others. The difference between a man receiving a prison sentence and a man receiving a death sentence could be decided by nothing more than a slow news day. ~ Damien Echols
Publicity quotes by Damien Echols
Every democracy is constructed day-to-day. And the electoral process reduces and minimalizes every single aspect of human complexity. We're putting it into pamphlets. We're doing a publicity show. We're becoming symbols. ~ Gael Garcia Bernal
Publicity quotes by Gael Garcia Bernal
I do not know of any credible evidence that suggests Dr. Zavos can clone a human being. This seems to be yet another one of his claims to get publicity. ~ Robert Winston
Publicity quotes by Robert Winston
One of the biggest differences between you and a traditionally published author is that a self-pubbed author is responsible for everything. Not just writing the book - but cover design, editing, producing, distribution, and publicity as well. ~ M.J. Rose
Publicity quotes by M.J. Rose
I made publicity contracts with Nike, several broadcasting companies and airline companies within Australia. ~ Cathy Freeman
Publicity quotes by Cathy Freeman
Love is a publicity stunt, and making love, after the first curious raptures, is only another petulant way to pass the time waiting for the studio to call. ~ Louise Brooks
Publicity quotes by Louise Brooks
I can't help wishing that the killer had waited until after this weekend to do him in. Or, better yet, had murdered him somewhere else entirely. Neither the Highland games nor this town needs the bad publicity murder generates."
"I'm sure Jason Graye would have preferred not to be murdered at all. ~ Kaitlyn Dunnett
Publicity quotes by Kaitlyn Dunnett
Enormous amounts of money are spent for publicity. As a result, large quantities of alimentary and pharmaceutical products, at the least useless, and often harmful, have become a necessity for civilized men. ~ Alexis Carrel
Publicity quotes by Alexis Carrel
They held up 'The Outlaw' for five years. And Howard Hughes had me doing publicity for it every day, five days a week for five years. ~ Jane Russell
Publicity quotes by Jane Russell
It doesn't worry me what anyone says, except when publicity hurts others. ~ Terry Jones
Publicity quotes by Terry Jones
It's a difficult line to tread, where sometimes you go to the movies or you watch someone do publicity for movies or TV shows, and they do all the jokes that are good in the promotion of it, and you see the movie, and you're like, 'I kind of get it already. I'm not that psyched about it.' ~ Mike Birbiglia
Publicity quotes by Mike Birbiglia
[T]here's a good reason to stay pessimistic about deficits as far as the eye can see. It's called the 'news' media. Legislators who want to get re-elected will clearly want to avoid any spending decision that will create bad national publicity, and our news media, the manufacturers of bad national publicity, will send crying victims down the assembly line at the slightest thought of a social spending cut or freeze. Exhibit A is Sen. Jim Bunning. ~ L. Brent Bozell, Jr.
Publicity quotes by L. Brent Bozell, Jr.
I operate under the theory that all publicity is good publicity, and then, if that theory doesn't work, you just say that any newspaper article ends up on the bottom of the parrot cage. But, of course, you can't line a parrot cage with Internet bloggers, can you? ~ Joel Edgerton
Publicity quotes by Joel Edgerton
Will you let me say, here and now, that the one thing which frustrated the whole attack from first to last was the remarkable solidarity and public spirit displayed by your college as a body. I think that was the last obstacle that X expected to encounter in a community of women. Nothing but the very great loyalty of the Senior Common Room to the College and the respect of the students for the Senior Common Room stood between you and a most unpleasant publicity. It is the merest presumption in me to tell you what you already know far better than I do; but I say it, not only for my own satisfaction, but because this particular kind of loyalty forms at once the psychological excuse for the attack and the only possible defense against it. ~ Dorothy L. Sayers
Publicity quotes by Dorothy L. Sayers
The public good must come before private interests. ~ Bryant McGill
Publicity quotes by Bryant McGill
A duped newspaper or magazine could contend that a fiction-spouting journalist obtained part of his salary via fraud, and use a criminal proceeding to try and recoup that money. Given the profession's notoriously low wages, however, it's probably not worth the publicity headache and legal fees. No news organization has ever pursued such a case. ~ Brendan I. Koerner
Publicity quotes by Brendan I. Koerner
Some people call me a publicity hound. ~ Joe Arpaio
Publicity quotes by Joe Arpaio
When Jordan took the court for the first time wearing his special red-and-black shoes, the NBA fined the Bulls $1,000 for violating the league's uniform dress code. Nike cleverly seized on the fine as a publicity opportunity, producing a television commercial that showed Jordan bouncing a ball as a voice said: "On September 15, Nike created a revolutionary new basketball shoe. On October 18, the NBA threw them out of the game. Fortunately, the NBA can't keep you from wearing them. Air Jordans from Nike. ~ Aaron Frisch
Publicity quotes by Aaron Frisch
I deeply regret the damage which recent publicity has brought to the Labour Party. However, I reject any suggestion of intentional wrongdoing on my part. ~ Wendy Alexander
Publicity quotes by Wendy Alexander
Slavery and other forms of bondage, of course, have not been obliterated from the face of the earth. As a result of recent publicity about the trafficking of people for labor and prostitution, one sometimes hears the statistically illiterate and morally obtuse claim that nothing has changed since the 18th century, as if there were no difference between a clandestine practice in a few parts of the world and an authorized practice everywhere in the world. ~ Steven Pinker
Publicity quotes by Steven Pinker
Larry Bird is overrated in a lot of areas ... Why does he get so much publicity? Because he's white. You never hear about a black player being the greatest. ~ Dennis Rodman
Publicity quotes by Dennis Rodman
As a cartoonist, I am not interested in defending the dominant, the powerful, the well-resourced and the well-armed because such groups are usually not in need of advocacy, moral support or sympathetic understanding; they have already organised sufficient publicity for themselves and prosecute their points of view with great efficiency. ~ Michael Leunig
Publicity quotes by Michael Leunig
Environmental policies are not just about good publicity; they are about responding to the moral imperative to address both climate change and resource depletion ... A company culture that is based on measuring everything in purely financial terms will be crippled by a high turnover of staff, customers and suppliers ~ Toby Robins
Publicity quotes by Toby Robins
Ironically, breast cancer gets so much attention partly because so many women survive it and become advocates, producing and participating in publicity-grabbing events such as the annual Race for the Cure. ~ Brooks Jackson
Publicity quotes by Brooks Jackson
Things have changed from the old days when movie studios encouraged stars to partner up for publicity. There's been some pressure from Disney Channel for people to not have a personal relationship with their business partners. ~ Lucas Grabeel
Publicity quotes by Lucas Grabeel
Pity about all that publicity when the hamster smashed its way out of its treadmill and ate that man's leg before flying away, but that was Progrethth for you. ~ Terry Pratchett
Publicity quotes by Terry Pratchett
Fame can't give you a hug. Fame can't keep you warm. The only way fame can keep you warm, is if you put all your publicity in a pile and burn it. ~ Marcia K. Matthews
Publicity quotes by Marcia K. Matthews
It helps when 1 can send the children off to their fathers so I can support my new book with a national publicity tour. I started writing the book when my daughter was 5. It took me almost four years. ~ Meg Tilly
Publicity quotes by Meg Tilly
To them the appearance of the Hell's Angels must have seemed like a wonderful publicity stunt. In a nation of frightened dullards there is a sorry shortage of outlaws, and those few who make the grade are always welcome: Frank Sinatra, Alexander King, Elizabeth Taylor, Raoul Duke ... they have that extra "something". ~ Hunter S. Thompson
Publicity quotes by Hunter S. Thompson
Everest has always been a magnet for kooks, publicity seekers, hopeless romantics and others with a shaky hold on reality. ~ Jon Krakauer
Publicity quotes by Jon Krakauer
IN THE EARLY MORNING of December 30, 1965, a few hundred Filipinos milled around the suburban residence of President-elect Ferdinand E. Marcos. They came in all manner of transport, from distant and nearby provinces, attracted by publicity on the celebrated beauty of the First Lady-to-be, Imelda Romualdez Marcos. ~ Carmen Navarro Pedrosa
Publicity quotes by Carmen Navarro Pedrosa
You just have to sit down and write the next book. I mean, it's not all uncommon for a writer to get a ton of publicity for one book and then not get as much for the next one. I don't worry about that because I try to worry about the one single part of the job I can control: the writing of the book. ~ Jeff Abbott
Publicity quotes by Jeff Abbott
[On refusing to allow photos to be published of herself and her children:] A lady's name should appear in print only three times, at her birth, marriage, and death. ~ Edith Roosevelt
Publicity quotes by Edith Roosevelt

Publicity quotes by Tom Corson-Knowles
It's a good thing [James] Dean died when he did. If he'd lived, he'd never have been able to live up to the publicity. ~ Humphrey Bogart
Publicity quotes by Humphrey Bogart
Publicity, publicity, publicity is the greatest moral factor and force in our public life. ~ Joseph Pulitzer
Publicity quotes by Joseph Pulitzer
The hardest thing about getting publicity is doing it on a budget ... you can hire people to market you but it's hard in this industry when it comes out of pocket. I've found that if the music is awesome, that helps a lot. ~ MC Lars
Publicity quotes by MC Lars
Publicity is the life of this culture - in so far as without publicity capitalism could not survive - and at the same time publicity is its dream. ~ John Berger
Publicity quotes by John Berger
My heavily-cleverly disguised low self-regard manifested itself in my constant showing off, my addiction for publicity, and my intolerable 'me-me-me' attitudes and actions. But it's done, isn't it? And no one can really change, can they? And, hey, it has been a lot of fun being the life-long irresponsible, snarky, nasty art scamp. ~ Thomas Hoving
Publicity quotes by Thomas Hoving
Not everything you hear about yourself can be considered good publicity. And if you have delicate sensibilities, the currycomb of public imagination frequently rubs your vanities the wrong way. ~ Corra May Harris
Publicity quotes by Corra May Harris
Know that the amount of criticism you receive may correlate somewhat to the amount of publicity you receive. ~ Donald Rumsfeld
Publicity quotes by Donald Rumsfeld
We live in an age of publicity and hype. There's something about success that dehumanizes you, whereas failure reminds you of who you really are. ~ Norman Jewison
Publicity quotes by Norman Jewison
Don't believe your own publicity. You can't; you'll start thinking that you're better than you are. ~ Leif Garrett
Publicity quotes by Leif Garrett
Taylor held a finger up to Val and Kate. "Hold that thought for a second while I get this."
As she headed into the living room, she overheard Kate mumble to Val, "Hold what thought? I haven't understood a word she's said yet."
Taylor unlocked her front door and opened it. Before she could react, Jason barreled right in, all fired up.
"Where have you been?? I tried calling you - is your cell phone off? I need you to tell me who the hell I can sue. I just met with Marty - we got back the mock-ups for the new publicity posters the studio's going to use to promote Inferno ."
Jason stormed into the kitchen, so engrossed in his rant he didn't notice Valerie and Kate. He opened Taylor's fridge and helped himself to a bottled water.
"And get this," he fumed angrily, "the dumbasses who designed the posters have me pictured in this scene where I'm putting out a fire with all these other firemen. But if you look at the poster from the side, the water from the hose of one of the other firefighters looks like it's shooting right out of my crotch. And the best part is, they want to put this poster over the theater entrance for the premiere. I can just see it - " He gestured grandly to the air. " 'Come see Inferno! Get pissed on by Jason Andrews!'"
With that, he threw Taylor a wink. "It should be right up your alley."
Finished with his rant, Jason took a sip of water. Then he finally noticed Kate and Val. He smiled charmingly.
"Oh. People. Hello."
Julie James
Publicity quotes by Julie James
I'm not someone who's led my life trying to get publicity; I'd rather do my work and go home. ~ Kevin Spacey
Publicity quotes by Kevin Spacey
A flair for publicity does not necessarily mean a flair for acting. ~ Katharine Cornell
Publicity quotes by Katharine Cornell
Familiarity with the brand requires some experience of it (via advertising, word of mouth, internet publicity), Confidence comes with the perception of competence in the brand itself (which is why new brands really need to work hard for people to experience them first) and Trustworthiness refers to the sense of whether the brand is going to live up to its promise of reliability for the price paid. ~ David Amerland
Publicity quotes by David Amerland
Some reviews give pain. This is regrettable, but no author has the right to whine. He was not obliged to be an author. He invited publicity, and he must take the publicity that comes along. ~ E. M. Forster
Publicity quotes by E. M. Forster
I'm afraid Dr. Mondrick chose an unfortunate publicity device. After all, the theory of human evolution is no longer front page news. Every known detail of the origin of mankind is extremely important to such a specialist as Dr. Mondrick, but it doesn't interest the man in the street - not unless it's dramatized. ~ Jack Williamson
Publicity quotes by Jack Williamson
France turned a deaf ear to the demands, but Ho had succeeded in attracting great publicity in progressive French circles to the situation in Indochina. ~ Wilfred Burchett
Publicity quotes by Wilfred Burchett
As a child I always steered clear of science fiction, but in the autumn of 1977, the bow-wave of publicity for the first 'Star Wars' movie had already reached me, so I was eager for anything science-fictional. ~ Philip Reeve
Publicity quotes by Philip Reeve
The source of their motivation ranges from what you might expect - from the seeking of money and publicity, to those who genuinely suffer from chronic personal problems and have fixated on me as the cause of their frustrations and failures. ~ Frederick Lenz
Publicity quotes by Frederick Lenz
I don't write my own publicity materials, I just read 'em and give 'em the OK. ~ John Darnielle
Publicity quotes by John Darnielle
An aesthetic movement with a revolutionary dynamism and no popular appeal should proceed quite otherwise than by public scandal, publicity stunt, noisy expulsion and excommunication. ~ Cyril Connolly
Publicity quotes by Cyril Connolly
'The Food Network' was just starting in New York, and I was getting lots of attention from Mesa Grill. They had no money, so if you couldn't get there by subway, you couldn't be on. It wasn't like TV was something I really wanted to do - but I knew it would be great publicity for my restaurants. ~ Bobby Flay
Publicity quotes by Bobby Flay
Bigamy is one way of avoiding the painful publicity of divorce and the expense of alimony. ~ Oliver Herford
Publicity quotes by Oliver Herford
Extension work is not exhortation. Nor is it exploitation of the people, or advertising of an institution, or publicity work for securing students. It is a plain, earnest, and continuous effort to meet the needs of the people on their own farms and in the localities. ~ Liberty Hyde Bailey
Publicity quotes by Liberty Hyde Bailey
Had been equally obvious. The new aristocracy was made up for the most part of bureaucrats, scientists, technicians, trade-union organisers, publicity experts, sociologists, teachers, journalists and professional politicians. These people, whose origins ~ George Orwell
Publicity quotes by George Orwell
There are some communities that feel you shouldn't give them the publicity, because it's just going to make people curious. There are communities who feel we need to fight them tooth and nail. What we have seen, though, is that ignoring them does not make them go away. If we sit back and let them have free reign, we lose members of our community. ~ Bill Vaughan
Publicity quotes by Bill Vaughan
Donald Trump and Paris Hilton share an occupation: publicity whore. Paris Hilton is better at it. ~ Kevin D. Williamson
Publicity quotes by Kevin D. Williamson
Democratic nations must try to find ways to starve the terrorist and the hijacker of the oxygen of publicity on which they depend. ~ Margaret Thatcher
Publicity quotes by Margaret Thatcher

Publicity quotes by Peter Benenson
I look to a time when brotherhood needs no publicity; to a time when a brotherhood award would be as ridiculous as an award for getting up each morning. ~ Daniel D. Mich
Publicity quotes by Daniel D. Mich
Whatever you have read I have said is almost certainly untrue, except if it is funny, in which case I definitely said it. ~ Tallulah Bankhead
Publicity quotes by Tallulah Bankhead
No matter how sophisticated, how cynical the public may become about publicity methods, it must respond to the basic appeals, because it will always need food, crave amusement, long for beauty, respond to leadership. If ~ Edward L. Bernays
Publicity quotes by Edward L. Bernays
Without publicity a terrible thing happens: nothing. ~ P.T. Barnum
Publicity quotes by P.T. Barnum
It makes me laugh when she says she [Salma Hayek] got offered Selena, which was an outright lie. If that's what she does to get herself publicity than that's her thing. ~ Jennifer Lopez
Publicity quotes by Jennifer Lopez
Without publicity there can be no public support, and without public support every nation must decay. ~ Benjamin Disraeli
Publicity quotes by Benjamin Disraeli
If I hadn't gone to a private Christian school, I'd never have built up enough animosity to want to have started a band. And now that I have one, the fact that they are giving me such resistance and publicity, they have made me far bigger than they'd ever have wanted me to have become. So I guess in a strange way the Christians have influenced me the most. ~ Marilyn Manson
Publicity quotes by Marilyn Manson
The media landscape of the present day is a map in search of a territory. A huge volume of sensational and often toxic imagery inundates our minds, much of it fictional in content. How do we make sense of this ceaseless flow of advertising and publicity, news and entertainment, where presidential campaigns and moon voyages are presented in terms indistinguishable from the launch of a new candy bar or deodorant? What actually happens on the level of our unconscious minds when, within minutes on the same TV screen, a prime minister is assassinated, an actress makes love, an injured child is carried from a car crash? Faced with these charged events, prepackaged emotions already in place, we can only stitch together a set of emergency scenarios, just as our sleeping minds extemporize a narrative from the unrelated memories that veer through the cortical night. In the waking dream that now constitutes everyday reality, images of a blood-spattered widow, the chromium trim of a limousine windshield, the stylised glamour of a motorcade, fuse together to provide a secondary narrative with very different meanings. ~ J.G. Ballard
Publicity quotes by J.G. Ballard
There's no bad publicity except an obituary. ~ Brendan Behan
Publicity quotes by Brendan Behan
When a sex tape gets made a star is born with a publicity agent on speed dial a six figure payout and a line of tacky lingerie in the works ~ Saira Viola
Publicity quotes by Saira Viola
The wise man does nothing but what can be done openly and without falseness, nor does he do anything whereby he may involve himself in any wrong-doing, even where he may escape notice. For he is guilty in his own eyes before being so in the eyes of others; and the publicity of his crime does not bring him more shame than his own consciousness of it. ~ Ambrose
Publicity quotes by Ambrose
a great publicity is a high way to remote customers and a universal key to the gate of ignorance ~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Publicity quotes by Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
When the Internet publicity began, I remember being struck by how much the world was not the way we thought it was, that there was infinite variation in how people viewed the world. ~ Eric Schmidt
Publicity quotes by Eric Schmidt
He had never said as much before, and I must admit that his words gave me keen pleasure, for I had often been piqued by his indifference to my admiration and to the attempts which I had made to give publicity to his methods. I was proud, too, to think that I had so far mastered his system as to apply it in a way which earned his approval. ~ Arthur Conan Doyle
Publicity quotes by Arthur Conan Doyle
demanded to know. "You know she's just using the Kennedy name for publicity. She's just a social climber. At ~ Darwin Porter
Publicity quotes by Darwin Porter
Writers say many true things about their own experiences with publicity and promotion. ~ Teresa Nielsen Hayden
Publicity quotes by Teresa Nielsen Hayden
Nowadays, the work of Alfred Hitchcock is admired all over the world. Young people who are just discovering his art through the current rerelease of Rear Window and Vertigo, or through North by Northwest, may assume his prestige has always been recognized, but this is far from being the case.

In the fifties and sixties, Hitchcock was at the height of his creativity and popularity. He was, of course, famous due to the publicity masterminded by producer David O. Selznick during the six or seven years of their collaboration on such films as Rebecca, Notorious, Spellbound, and The Paradine Case.

His fame had spread further throughout the world via the television series Alfred Hitchcock Presents in the mid-fifties. But American and European critics made him pay for his commercial success by reviewing his work with condescension, and by belittling each new film.
(...)
In examining his films, it was obvious that he had given more thought to the potential of his art than any of his colleagues. It occurred to me that if he would, for the first time, agree to respond seriously to a systematic questionnaire, the resulting document might modify the American critics' approach to Hitchcock.
That is what this book is all about. ~ Francois Truffaut
Publicity quotes by Francois Truffaut
I've been getting some bad publicity - but you got to expect that. ~ Elvis Presley
Publicity quotes by Elvis Presley
Platform and publicity are interconnected, yet very different. Building a platform is what you do before a book comes out to make sure that when it hits shelves somebody buys it. Publicity is an active effort to acquire media attention for a book that already exists. ~ Chuck Sambuchino
Publicity quotes by Chuck Sambuchino
Dead news like dead love has no phoenix in its ashes. ~ Enid Bagnold
