Taking action is being alive. It's taking the risk to go out and express your dream. This is different than imposing your dream on someone else, because everyone has the right to express his or her dream. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Dream On quotes by Miguel Ruiz
No person can maximize the American Dream on the minimum wage. ~ Benjamin Todd Jealous
Dream On quotes by Benjamin Todd Jealous
ANGELO

From thee, even from thy virtue!
What's this, what's this? Is this her fault or mine?
The tempter or the tempted, who sins most?
Ha!
Not she: nor doth she tempt: but it is I
That, lying by the violet in the sun,
Do as the carrion does, not as the flower,
Corrupt with virtuous season. Can it be
That modesty may more betray our sense
Than woman's lightness? Having waste ground enough,
Shall we desire to raze the sanctuary
And pitch our evils there? O, fie, fie, fie!
What dost thou, or what art thou, Angelo?
Dost thou desire her foully for those things
That make her good? O, let her brother live!
Thieves for their robbery have authority
When judges steal themselves. What, do I love her,
That I desire to hear her speak again,
And feast upon her eyes? What is't I dream on?
O cunning enemy, that, to catch a saint,
With saints dost bait thy hook! Most dangerous
Is that temptation that doth goad us on
To sin in loving virtue: never could the strumpet,
With all her double vigour, art and nature,
Once stir my temper; but this virtuous maid
Subdues me quite. Even till now,
When men were fond, I smiled and wonder'd how.

-- Measure for Measure, II, ii ~ William Shakespeare
Dream On quotes by William Shakespeare
Now they both smiled. The sweet, light fragrance of a first youthful, half-unspoken love, with all its intoxicating tenderness, had awoken in them like a dream on which you reflect ironically when you wake, although you really wish for nothing more than to dream it again, to live in the dream. The beautiful dream of young love that ventures only on half-measures, that desires and dares not ask, promises and does not give. They ~ Stefan Zweig
Dream On quotes by Stefan Zweig
Dream on it. Let your mind take you to places you would like to go, and then think about it and plan it and celebrate the possibilities. And don't listen to anyone who doesn't know how to dream. ~ Liza Minnelli
Dream On quotes by Liza Minnelli
My dad would tell me bedtime stories, and he used to always leave them open-ended and finish at a crucial point with the words, 'dream on'. Then it was my responsibility to finish the story as I was drifting off to sleep. We would call them dreaming stories. ~ Hannah Kent
Dream On quotes by Hannah Kent
You cannot build a dream on a foundation of sand. To weather the test of storms, it must be cemented in the heart with uncompromising conviction. ~ T.F. Hodge
Dream On quotes by T.F. Hodge
But allow Riley to boss him around? Multiply "hell, no" by "dream on" and divide by "suck it," and the answer was "the wolf could bite the big one. ~ Gena Showalter
Dream On quotes by Gena Showalter
I really hate you sometimes."
"There's a fine line between love and hate."
I glared at him. "Dream on. ~ Michelle Rowen

Prof. Christoph Heubeck said, "Dream on, dreams can come true. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Dream On quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Life without a dream isn't worth living, find your and dream on. Reach for the star. If you don't make it, at least you try it. Don't let anyone step between you and your dreams. ~ Melito Santos
Dream On quotes by Melito Santos
Our culture says 'live your dream,' but God calls you to place your dream on His altar and to keep it there at all times. It is good to have hopes and dreams for the future, but we have no rights. There are no certainties. Any dream can become an idol and, if it does, God will bring it down. ~ Colin S. Smith
Dream On quotes by Colin S. Smith
Give me a kiss to build a dream on
And my imagination will thrive upon that kiss
Sweetheart, I ask no more than this
A kiss to build a dream on. ~ Louis Armstrong
Dream On quotes by Louis Armstrong
Sweet, sweet, sweet, O Pan!
Piercing sweet by the river!
Blinding sweet, O great god Pan!
The sun on the hill forgot to die,
And the lilies reviv'd, and the dragon-fly
Came back to dream on the river. ~ Browning Elizabeth Barrett
Dream On quotes by Browning Elizabeth Barrett
It doth not hurt", whispered a faint voice, "She will take you life and all you are and all you care'st for, and she will leave you with nothing but mist and fog. She'll take your joy. And one day you'll wake and your heart and soul will have gone. A husk you'll be, a wisp you'll be, and a thing no more than a dream on waking, or a memory of something forgotten. ~ Neil Gaiman
Dream On quotes by Neil Gaiman
Dreamers must dream on
as long as the nightmare wakes them up
to greet with a bucketful of reality ~ Munia Khan
Dream On quotes by Munia Khan
You can dream on welfare. You can hope as you take in ironing. It is just less painful if you don't. ~ Rick Bragg
Dream On quotes by Rick Bragg
Sure, we're the sum of our experiences. If you listen to that song I wrote in 1969, "Dream On," you might get a different view. I may not have been quite sure of what I was doing, but I was on to something. ~ Steven Tyler
Dream On quotes by Steven Tyler
Never give up on your aspirations. Sometimes life is funny and can get in the way with simple distractions, but don't let that stop you. If you have a dream, then go for it. You have the power to make it manifest itself into something fantastic, so mesmerizing that it has the possibility to astonish even the most daring of minds. Dream on and make it a reality. ~ Sheila Renee Parker
Dream On quotes by Sheila Renee Parker
Unicorns are not real, though we still dream about them! DREAM ON! ~ Lindsey Johnson
Dream On quotes by Lindsey Johnson
Landscape, which looks so constant, is on the move. The mountains dream on the horizon, but mountains are just passing through. I watch them, wearing, grinding, rising up out there, their motion still the main beat. ~ Jill Frayne
Dream On quotes by Jill Frayne
When all is said and done, there is no shortcut to Nirvana. But in this narcissistic age of instant gratification and swift solution, the great deception of channeling is that we may glide effortlessly back to the Godhead. All we have is pay our money, take our seats and dream on as loving discarnates lead us to enlightenment. Why, the Big E. is just around the corner and anyway - didn't you know? - we are God. ~ Joe Fisher
Dream On quotes by Joe Fisher
A salary is a tax employers pay, every four weeks, for putting an employee's dream on hold. ~ Mokokoma Mokhonoana
Dream On quotes by Mokokoma Mokhonoana
So we dream on. Thus we invent our lives. We give ourselves a sainted mother, we make our father a hero; and someone's older brother and someone's older sister – they become our heroes too. We invent what we love and what we fear. There is always a brave lost brother – and a little lost sister, too. We dream on and on: the best hotel, the perfect family, the resort life. And our dreams escape us almost as vividly as we can imagine them. ~ John Irving
Dream On quotes by John Irving
I do believe that the Church is God's primary instrument for ushering in the Kingdom (God's dream) on earth as it is in heaven, but God is not limited to use only the Church, or only Christians for that matter. ~ Shane Claiborne
Dream On quotes by Shane Claiborne
Keep it. When you have enough of my clothes at your place, I'll have to start staying overnight so I can get dressed."
"Dream on, Savoie."
"Every night, detective. ~ Nancy Gideon
Dream On quotes by Nancy Gideon
In this dream world
we doze
and talk of dreams -
dream, dream on,
as much as you wish ~ Ryokan
Dream On quotes by Ryokan
Dream on, dream on, of bloody deeds and death. ~ William Shakespeare
Dream On quotes by William Shakespeare
To dream on occasion is not dreaming,
To love on occasion is not love. ~ Dejan Stojanovic
Dream On quotes by Dejan Stojanovic
Acting is the ability to dream on cue. ~ Ralph Richardson
Dream On quotes by Ralph Richardson
Ireland, like Ukraine, is a largely rural country which suffers from its proximity to a more powerful industrialised neighbour. Ireland's contribution to the history of tractors is the genius engineer Harry Ferguson, who was born in 1884, near Belfast.
Ferguson was a clever and mischievous man, who also had a passion for aviation. It is said that he was the first man in Great Britain to build and fly his own aircraft in 1909. But he soon came to believe that improving efficiency of food production would be his unique service to mankind. Harry Ferguson's first two-furrow plough was attached to the chassis of the Ford Model T car converted into a tractor, aptly named Eros. This plough was mounted on the rear of the tractor, and through ingenious use of balance springs it could be raised or lowered by the driver using a lever beside his seat. Ford, meanwhile, was developing its own tractors. The Ferguson design was more advanced, and made use of hydraulic linkage, but Ferguson knew that despite his engineering genius, he could not achieve his dream on his own. He needed a larger company to produce his design. So he made an informal agreement with Henry Ford, sealed only by a handshake. This Ford-Ferguson partnership gave to the world a new type of Fordson tractor far superior to any that had been known before, and the precursor of all modern-type tractors. However, this agreement by a handshake collapsed in 1947 when Henry Ford II took over the empire of his father, and st ~ Marina Lewycka
Dream On quotes by Marina Lewycka
An entrepreneur must pitch a potential investor for what the company is worth as well as sell the dream on how much of a profit can be made. ~ Daymond John
Dream On quotes by Daymond John
A great sentiment can be rendered immediately. Dream on it and look for the simplest form in which you can express it. ~ Paul Gauguin
Dream On quotes by Paul Gauguin
Youth is a beautiful dream, on whose brightness books shed a blinding dust. Will ever the day come when the wise link the joy of knowledge to youth's dream? Will ever the day come when Nature becomes the teacher of man, humanity his book and life his school? Youth's joyous purpose cannot be fulfilled until that day comes. Too slow is our march toward spiritual elevation, because we make so little use of youth's ardor. ~ Khalil Gibran
Dream On quotes by Khalil Gibran
Such sights as youthful poets dream On summer eves by haunted stream. Then to the well-trod stage anon, If Jonson's learned sock be on, Or sweetest Shakespeare, Fancy's child, Warble his native wood-notes wild. ~ John Milton
Dream On quotes by John Milton
You have to give people something to dream on. ~ Jimi Hendrix
Dream On quotes by Jimi Hendrix
My daughter wrote a book. She is a New York Times Bestselling Author. Fabulous. Couldn't be more proud. She also has no health insurance. A 401 K? Dream on! My daughter left her stable corporate job to be a writer without dental benefits or a savings account, a.k.a. my worst nightmare. ~ Kate Siegel
Dream On quotes by Kate Siegel
Many, many years ago I interviewed Desmond Tutu, prior to the end of apartheid, about a year and a half before it ended. And he kept, in the interview, saying, "when we end apartheid," and I kept thinking, you know, as I was listening to him, "yeah right," you know, like, "dream on!"; I mean, I didn't want to rain on his parade or anything, but in my heart of hearts I thought "not in your lifetime."…And lo and behold, a year and a half later it was over. So it was really a profound lesson about what can happen when the will of people aligns. ~ Catherine Ingram
Dream On quotes by Catherine Ingram
We are the eyes of the world - I knock on your heart, We do not need a key. Our lips, they flow like an endless river; And wake up and dream on the edge of the era. ~ Kristian Goldmund Aumann
Dream On quotes by Kristian Goldmund Aumann
At the end of the dream, on the other side of the rainbow, there's only light. ~ Frederick Lenz
Dream On quotes by Frederick Lenz
You did not come this far, just to come this far. ~ Manoj Arora
Dream On quotes by Manoj Arora
What being in the War and being in the Army had shown him was that people tend naturally toward light, toward its source, as sunflowers do in a field.
People lean, either in their dreams or in their actions, toward that place where they suspect their inner lights are coming from. Whether they call it God or conscience or the manual of Army protocol, people sublime toward where their inner fire burns, and given enough fuel for thought and a level playing field to dream on, anyone can leave a fingerprint on the blank of history. That's what
Fos believed. ~ Marianne Wiggins
Dream On quotes by Marianne Wiggins
I've always got to have one impossible dream on the back burner. ~ Michael Caine
Dream On quotes by Michael Caine
You insist on describing the torments of love when you clearly know NOTHING about them. I'M NOT DONE YET! What do you dream on? A kind man?A pure soul to be redeemed? Affection? Affection has no place in love, Edith. I advise you to return to your ghosts and fancies, the sooner the better. You know precious little about the human heart or love or the pain that comes with. You are nothing but a SPOILED CHILD! ~ Sir Thomas Sharpe
Dream On quotes by Sir Thomas Sharpe
Is it so small a thing
To have enjoy'd the sun,
To have lived light in the spring,
To have loved, to have thought, to have done;
To have advanc'd true friends, and beat down baffling foes;
That we must feign a bliss
Of doubtful future date,
And, while we dream on this,
Lose all our present state,
And relegate to worlds yet distant our repose? ~ Matthew Arnold
Dream On quotes by Matthew Arnold
Close your ears to all adverse suggestions. Never mind if people call you a fool and a dreamer. Dream on. ~ Wallace D. Wattles
Dream On quotes by Wallace D. Wattles
Send me the pillow you dream on ~ Johnny Tillotson
Dream On quotes by Johnny Tillotson
[U]nstained thoughts do seldom dream on evil. ~ William Shakespeare
Dream On quotes by William Shakespeare
She will take your life and all you are and all you care'st for, and she will leave you with nothing but mist and fog. She'll take your joy. And one day you'll awake and your heart and your soul will have gone. A husk you'll be, a wisp you'll be, and a thing no more than a dream on waking, or a memory of something forgotten.' 'Hollow,' whispered the third voice. 'Hollow, hollow, hollow, hollow, hollow.' 'You ~ Neil Gaiman
Dream On quotes by Neil Gaiman
Truth: I realised there is no escaping reality but dreaming changes the perception of what it was to what it can become
C'mon now dream on dream big dream slow dream bright
Let your dreams flow let them take flight
Only your dreams alone can and will always show you the light ~ Lebogang Lynx Bopape
Dream On quotes by Lebogang Lynx Bopape
Karen: Rod told me to wear low-cut shirts and I said, "Dream on," and that was about the end of that. ~ Taylor Jenkins Reid
Dream On quotes by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Don't be a sore loser.'
'It's hard to argue with a woman when she's got her knee on my ego.'
'Good. Now I'm going to have my way with you.'
'Are you?'
'Damn right. I won.' She cocked her head and reached down to strip off his shirt. 'Cooperate and I won't have to hurt you. Uh-uh.' When he reached for her, she gripped his hands and pushed them back to the mat. 'I'm in charge here. Don't make me get out the cuffs.'
'Hmm. An interesting threat. Why don't you - ' His words trailed off as her mouth came down on his, hard and hot. Instinctively, his hands flexed under hers, wanting to touch, to take. But he understood she wanted something else, something more. So he would let her find it.
'I'm going to take you.' She bit down on his lip, sending an edge of lust razoring through his gut. 'Do whatever I want to you.'
His mind was already spinning, his breath clogging. 'Be gentle with me,' he managed, and felt warmth twine with the heat when she laughed.
'Dream on. ~ J.D. Robb
Dream On quotes by J.D. Robb
We will always be black, you and I, even if it means different things in different places. France is built on its own dream, on its collection of bodies, and recall that your very name is drawn from a man who opposed France and its national project of theft by colonization. It is true that our color was not our distinguishing feature there, so much as the Americanness represented in our poor handle on French. And it is true that there is something particular about how the Americans who think they are white regard us - something sexual and obscene. We were not enslaved in France. We are not their particular "problem," nor their national guilt. We are not their niggers. If there is any comfort in this, it is not the kind that I would encourage you to indulge. Remember your name. Remember that you and I are brothers, are the children of trans-Atlantic rape. Remember the broader consciousness that comes with that. Remember that this consciousness can never ultimately be racial; it must be cosmic. Remember the Roma you saw begging with their children in the street, and the venom with which they were addressed. Remember the Algerian cab driver, speaking openly of his hatred of Paris, then looking at your mother and me and insisting that we were all united under Africa. Remember the rumbling we all felt under the beauty of Paris, as though the city had been built in abeyance of Pompeii. Remember the feeling that the great public gardens, the long lunches, might all be undone by a ph ~ Ta-Nehisi Coates
Dream On quotes by Ta-Nehisi Coates
The dream on the pillow,
That flits with the day,
The leaf of the willow
A breath wears away;
The dust on the blossom,
The spray on the sea;
Ay,
ask thine own bosom
Are emblems of thee. ~ Letitia Elizabeth Landon
Dream On quotes by Letitia Elizabeth Landon
You have to work hard for it, but first you have to want it, and then you have to dream on it. ~ Liza Minnelli
Dream On quotes by Liza Minnelli
Just because I'm 77 doesn't mean I don't have a dream. ~ John Glenn
Dream On quotes by John Glenn
You want to try and win as many slams as possible in your career. As a tennis player, that's what we always dream of as a kid, wanting to play slams, wanting to win them. ~ Sania Mirza
Dream On quotes by Sania Mirza
One soft humid early spring morning driving a winding road across Mount Tamalpais, the 2,500-foot mountain just north of the Golden Gate Bridge, a bend reveals a sudden vision of San Francisco in shades of blue, a city in a dream, and I was filled with a tremendous yearning to live in that place of blue hills and blue buildings, though I do live there, I had just left there after breakfast. ~ Rebecca Solnit
Dream On quotes by Rebecca Solnit
The dreamer creates his dreams for his own purposes, selecting only those symbols which have meaning to him. ~ Seth
Dream On quotes by Seth
No, no, I'm sure, My restless spirit never could endure To brood so long upon one luxury, Unless it did, though fearfully, espy A hope beyond the shadow of a dream. ~ John Keats
Dream On quotes by John Keats
In the dream, Tana's mother loved her more than anyone or anything. More than death. ~ Holly Black
Dream On quotes by Holly Black
And like anyone who is in valiant pursuit of dreams, the ups and downs come and go, but the dream lives in the heart forever. ~ Chris Michaels
Dream On quotes by Chris Michaels
I don't want to destroy your dreams.'
'They were never my dreams until I met you ... a dream you gave me.'
'That doesn't mean I can take it away. ~ Julia Quinn
Dream On quotes by Julia Quinn
If you are angry, and then happy, the next moment the anger passes away. Out of that anger you manufactured the next state. These states are always interchangeable. Eternal happiness and misery are a child's dream. ~ Swami Vivekananda
Dream On quotes by Swami Vivekananda
Believe in the dream... Beware the danger. ~ Marie-Nicole Ryan
Dream On quotes by Marie-Nicole Ryan
Look to your experience in dreams to know how you will fare in death. Look to your experience of sleep to discover whether or not you are truly awake. ~ Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
Dream On quotes by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche
In the human life time is but an instant, and the substance of it a flux, and the perception dull, and the composition of the whole body subject to putrefaction, and the soul a whirl, and fortune hard to divine, and fame a thing devoid of certainty. And, to say all in a word, everything that belongs to the body is a stream, and what belongs to the soul is a dream and vapor, and life is a warfare and a stranger's sojourn, and after- fame is oblivion. What then can guide a man? One thing and only one, philosophy. ~ Marcus Aurelius
Dream On quotes by Marcus Aurelius
I am walking, he thought, exulting. Part of him knew that it was only a dream, but even the dream of walking was better than the truth of his bedchamber, walls and ceiling and door. ~ George R R Martin
Dream On quotes by George R R Martin
That's my dream. It's always the same. Always. Every little detail. And every time I have it, it's just as scary as the last.

It's so real, I feel as if I've already died hundreds of times. ~ Haruki Murakami
Dream On quotes by Haruki Murakami
WHAT WAS LOST IN THE COLLAPSE: almost everything, almost everyone, but there is still such beauty. Twilight in the altered world, a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream in a parking lot in the mysteriously named town of St. Deborah by the Water, Lake Michigan shining a half mile away. ~ Emily St. John Mandel
Dream On quotes by Emily St. John Mandel
Dreamers are those who have achieved in love and life, because it is a dream that got them there. ~ Cindy Sherman
Dream On quotes by Cindy Sherman
So why do I write, torturing myself to put it down? Because in spite of myself I've learned some things. Without the possibility of action, all knowledge comes to one labeled "file and forget," and I can neither file nor forget. Nor will certain ideas forget me; they keep filing away at my lethargy, my complacency. Why should I be the one to dream this nightmare? ~ Ralph Ellison
Dream On quotes by Ralph Ellison
And the more I think about it, the more frustrated I get by the entire concept of a backup plan. Because it only ever seems to pertain to people who are interested in art, music, theater--and yes, the circus. Nobody would ever dream of going up to someone in medical school and telling them, 'Gee, I really think you should have a backup plan. You know, just in case this doesn't work out for you. ~ Akemi Dawn Bowman
Dream On quotes by Akemi Dawn Bowman
When I want to really get to know someone, I ask three questions. People's answers to these give me great insight into someone's heart. The questions are: What do you dream about? What do you sing about? What do you cry about? ~ John C. Maxwell
Dream On quotes by John C. Maxwell
Dream dreams and write them aye, but live them first. ~ Samuel Eliot Morison
Dream On quotes by Samuel Eliot Morison
It's fun to do the impossible
Walt Disney
I always dream BIG! ~ Steve William Laible
Dream On quotes by Steve William Laible
But, in truth, it had not exactly been gold, or even the promise of gold, but more like the fantasy of gold, the fairy dream that the gold is there, at the end of the rainbow, and will continue to be there forever - provided, naturally, that you don't go and look. This is known as finance. ~ Terry Pratchett
Dream On quotes by Terry Pratchett
There's a dream world that we visit sometimes and that's how we found out who we are. ~ Anthony Horowitz
Dream On quotes by Anthony Horowitz
There are people in this world who do not dream.
They may try to stop you by their words and deeds,
but like air, you can rise above it all.
Dream, then follow your dreams
and you will be unstoppable. ~ Jose N Harris
Dream On quotes by Jose N Harris
Men seek for seclusion in the wilderness, by the seashore, or in the mountains - a dream you have cherished only too fondly yourself. But such fancies are wholly unworthy of a philosopher, since at any moment you choose you can retire within yourself. Nowhere can man find a quieter or more untroubled retreat than in his own soul; above all, he who possesses resources in himself, which he need only contemplate to secure immediate ease of mind - the ease that is but another word for a well-ordered spirit. Avail yourself often, then, of this retirement, and so continually renew yourself. ~ Marcus Aurelius
Dream On quotes by Marcus Aurelius
My dream is that all South Africans from all walks of life will have the opportunity to read my books and use the information therein to successfully invest in property ~ Jason Lee
Dream On quotes by Jason Lee
People consuming even moderate amounts of alcohol in the afternoon and/or evening are thus depriving themselves of dream sleep. ~ Matthew Walker
Dream On quotes by Matthew Walker
In my dreams the world would come alive, becoming so captivatingly majestic, free and ethereal, that afterwards it would be oppressive to breathe the dust of this painted life. ~ Vladimir Nabokov
Dream On quotes by Vladimir Nabokov
And it's a lie that has consequences, because the great American dream is to have a good job, and in recent years, America has failed to deliver that dream more than it has at any time in recent memory. A good job is an individual's primary identity, their very self-worth, their dignity - it establishes the relationship they have with their friends, community and country. When we fail to deliver a good job that fits a citizen's talents, training and experience, we are failing the great American dream. ~ Jim Clifton
Dream On quotes by Jim Clifton
Stop this agony of wishing Play it out Don't think, don't hesitate Curving back within yourself Just create ... Just create ~ Michael Jackson
Dream On quotes by Michael Jackson
The person who loves their dream of community will destroy community, but the person who loves those around them will create community. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Dream On quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Sblood, but you will not hear me: - If ever I did dream of such a matter, Abhor me. ~ William Shakespeare
Dream On quotes by William Shakespeare
I am the most well-adjusted human being I know. I started out this investigation as a very happy man with a great career. I've got the life people dream about: I am rich, I am famous, I've got a fabulous marriage to an absolutely, spell-bindingly brilliant woman. ~ James Ellroy
Dream On quotes by James Ellroy
Like most modern people, we no longer bothered to make the distinction between events in real life and the dramas of fictional worlds, and so the cliff-hanger that inevitably, reliably ended the hour held just as much or more importance to us as the newspaper that usually went from doorstep to garbage bin unread, and we speculated about the future lives of the characters that populated decayed mansions or desert isles as if they weren't inventions of other human minds. ~ Dexter Palmer
Dream On quotes by Dexter Palmer
It is becoming exquisite corpse. It is remade. It is without artist. And in its wake, as its wan precision is replaced by that stochastic rigor, that self-dreamed dream, the buildings that it saw into twee perfection are less perfect again. They quiver. Their colors bleed. They are too saturated, their lines are wrong again. They remember their cracks. And then with breaths of stone-dust they are back to ruination, or are not there, or are battered by age, scarred with the stuff of history, again. Paris is Paris ~ China Mieville
Dream On quotes by China Mieville
