Thinking is the number one enemy of dreaming ~ Liz Gallagher
Dreaming quotes by Liz Gallagher
Understanding how DNA transmits all it knows about cancer, physics, dreaming and love will keep man searching for some time. ~ David R. Brower
Dreaming quotes by David R. Brower
When working with an unknown situation, you have to identify known factors and work within their boundaries. ~ Amy Plum
Dreaming quotes by Amy Plum
On the edge of dreaming when the brain lets go, when it stops its scheming, our blood runs slow... Then the heart speaks clearly of the things it knows, things it brought so dearly at the evening's glow... And a misty sunset fills the west with yellow, gold and scarlet red. The bowl of space a dawn sheds light upon our silky bed. For you I send refreshing rain to wash the past away. A quiet breeze drifts warmly across your tired face. It brings the scents from flower climbs, and leaves without a trace. With vines and newborn stars in our hair...undressed, bronzed platinum we are as summer in your golden church... Like whispers lost at sea...we soar beyond the sky of fire...in harmony within the clash of elements... Together lost and free to claim our each desire. Like leaves we float to earth, once more...forbidden passion, romantic eyes, and heated lips...two burning amber hearts released and drinking slowly mysterious champagne of heaven sweetest rest... ~ Oksana Rus
Dreaming quotes by Oksana Rus
Dreaming is free... why didn't I take all I could get? ~ James Andrew Wilson
Dreaming quotes by James Andrew Wilson
Dream-travelers, there is no path, paths are made by dreaming. ~ Antonio Machado
Dreaming quotes by Antonio Machado

Finally, I couldn't imagine how I could live without books, and I stopped dreaming about marrying that Chinese prince ... ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Dreaming quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
There are two special moments in a day I love the most
The moment Before I wake up, the feeling of existment and happinesse like a little kid, the rush of adrenaline into my body the beating of my heart so fast, and the whisper of my heart feeling your arms upon my chest whispers " is she real or are we still dreaming"

The end of the day
I crave you like an addict to drugs
Missing your beautiful face,
Missing the way you smile,
Missing the way you look at me
Missing hearing your voice
Missing the way you smell
Missing your soft skin
Missing how your body shake when my lips thouch your skin ~ Bilal
Dreaming quotes by Bilal
I have a plan," he said.
"Yes," she said.
"Let's get married," he said.
"Yes," she said.
"Let's conquer the world," he said.
"Yes," she said. No one in her family had ever been accused of dreaming small.
"Let's bring the beau monde to its knees."
"Yes."
"Let's make them beg for your creations."
"Yes," she said. "Yes, yes, yes."
"Is tomorrow too soon?" he said.
"No." she said. "We've a great deal to do, you and I, conquering the world. We must start at once. We've not a minute to lose."
"I love hearing you say that," he said.
He kissed her. It lasted a long time.
And they would last, she was sure, a lifetime. On that she'd wager anything. ~ Loretta Chase
Dreaming quotes by Loretta Chase
The mere act of dreaming is a vitalizing, life-affirming endeavor. As it turns out, using your imagination is very, very good for your wellbeing. Einstein believed that imagination was even more important than knowledge itself. ~ Danielle LaPorte
Dreaming quotes by Danielle LaPorte
A man, whilst he is dreaming, believes in his dream; he is undeceived only when he is awakened from his slumber. ~ Mahatma Gandhi
Dreaming quotes by Mahatma Gandhi
People really get myopic as they get older. We're not a culture that encourages dreaming or distraction. We're not ever good at just being. I remember reading some Adrienne Rich quote where she talks about how important it was just to watch bubbles rise in a glass. ~ Karen Russell
Dreaming quotes by Karen Russell
I believe in one that all people are dreaming. This now, past and future is just a long dream, some people wake up by dieing, other by suicide everything is about a choice. But the people which are dead in our world, there aren't dead in the other they are still alive and watching us and they are smiling at us and they want we to make our choice. To think then to do it! ~ Deyth Banger
Dreaming quotes by Deyth Banger
Enjoy while the world is still capable of allowing you to, for soon all dreaming will come to an end. ~ Melissa Darnell

Half of sex is the dreaming ~ Sasha Grey
Dreaming quotes by Sasha Grey
Edward,' she mumbled softly.
She was dreaming of me.
Could a dead, frozen heart beat again? It felt like mine was about to.
'Stay,' she sighed. 'Don't go. Please ... don't go ~ Stephenie Meyer
Dreaming quotes by Stephenie Meyer
Spring is singing in my blood today, and the lure of April is abroad on the air. I'm seeing visions and dreaming dreams, Pris. That's because the wind is from the west. I do love the west wind. It sings of hope and gladness, doesn't it? When the east wind blows I always think of sorrowful rain on the eaves and sad waves on a gray shore. When I get old I shall have rheumatism when the wind is east." "And ~ L.M. Montgomery
Dreaming quotes by L.M. Montgomery
Matthias was dreaming again. Dreaming of her. The storm raged around him, drowning out Nina's voice. And yet his heart was easy. Somehow he knew that she would be safe, she would find shelter from the cold. He was on the ice once more, and somewhere he could hear the wolves howling. But this time, he knew they were welcoming him home. ~ Leigh Bardugo
Dreaming quotes by Leigh Bardugo
I really started dreaming ... and broke out of my shyness when I got to Howard University. My first acting class was an Intro to Acting class with Professor Bay, who really broke me out of my shell, encouraged me to follow my dreams and make them a reality. ~ Lance Gross
Dreaming quotes by Lance Gross
Dreaming is great, but thinking big thoughts alone will not build a business, pay your bills or make you into the person you know in your heart you can be. ~ Robin Sharma
Dreaming quotes by Robin Sharma

Dreaming quotes by YoYo

Experience everything;
Times of sorrow, times of Joy.
Times of darkness, times of light.
Times of lost heart, times of hope.
Times of hate, times of love.
Times of pain , times of peace.
Times of distress, times of dancing.
Times of sickness, times of recover of strength.
Times of lost, times of finding the way.
Times of wandering, times of wonder.
Times of failure, times of success.
Times of fall, times of rise.
Time of sowing, times of harvesting.
Times of injury , times of healing.
Times of waiting, times of fulfilled wish.
Times of praying, times of receiving the promise.
Times of ploughing, times of planting.
Times of dreaming, times of working to achieve the dream.
Times of doubt, times of Faith. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Dreaming quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Wordlessly they settled on a third-story ledge near Patriarch's Pond, of the roof across from Luce's window, where they used to watch her sleep. The memory would be fresher in Daniil's mind, but the faint recollection of Luce lying dreaming under the covers still sent a warm rush across Daniel's wings.
Both were somber. In the bombed-out city, it was sad and ironic that her building had been spared when she hadn't. They stood in silence in the cold night, both carefully tucking back their wings so that they wouldn't accidentially touch. ~ Lauren Kate
Dreaming quotes by Lauren Kate
Darwin remarks that we are less dazzled by the light at waking, if we have been dreaming of visible objects. Happy are those who have here dreamt of a higher vision! They will the sooner be able to endure the glories of the world to come. ~ Novalis
Dreaming quotes by Novalis
I give everything to my work, and I like complex roles, characters that aren't obvious. I've been very lucky so far, and I'm dreaming of working with directors like Jane Campion, Susanne Bier and the Dardennes. But the gods will decide. ~ Eva Green
Dreaming quotes by Eva Green
The Ballad of Lucy Jordan
The morning sun touched lightly on the eyes of Lucy Jordan
In a white suburban bedroom in a white suburban town
As she lay there 'neath the covers dreaming of a thousand lovers
Till the world turned to orange and the room went spinning round.

At the age of thirty-seven she realised she'd never
Ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in her hair.
So she let the phone keep ringing and she sat there softly singing
Little nursery rhymes she'd memorised in her daddy's easy chair.

Her husband, he's off to work and the kids are off to school,
And there are, oh, so many ways for her to spend the day.
She could clean the house for hours or rearrange the flowers
Or run naked through the shady street screaming all the way.

At the age of thirty-seven she realised she'd never
Ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in her hair
So she let the phone keep ringing as she sat there softly singing
Pretty nursery rhymes she'd memorised in her daddy's easy chair.

The evening sun touched gently on the eyes of Lucy Jordan
On the roof top where she climbed when all the laughter grew too loud
And she bowed and curtsied to the man who reached and offered her his hand,
And he led her down to the long white car that waited past the crowd.

At the age of thirty-seven she knew she'd found forever
As she rode along t ~ Marianne Faithfull
Dreaming quotes by Marianne Faithfull
Dreams do come true for those who dare to believe in themselves. ~ Bryant McGill
Dreaming quotes by Bryant McGill
The process of dreaming transfers psychical intensity from what is important, but also objectionable, onto what is insignificant. ~ Sigmund Freud
Dreaming quotes by Sigmund Freud
To dream only of what is 'possible' is to be fooled into believing that one is dreaming in the first place. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
Dreaming quotes by Craig D. Lounsbrough
Keep exploring. Keep dreaming. Keep asking why. Don't settle for what you already know. Never stop believing in the power of your ideas, your imagination, your hard work to change the world. ~ Barack Obama
Dreaming quotes by Barack Obama
You rise to a higher level of consciousness by taking your attention away from your present limitations and placing it upon that which you desire to be. Do not attempt this in day-dreaming or wishful thinking but in a positive manner. Claim yourself to be the thing desired. I AM that; no sacrifice, no diet, no human tricks. All that is asked of you is to accept your desire. If you dare claim it, you will express it. ~ Neville Goddard
Dreaming quotes by Neville Goddard
I had a dream about you last night. Eons ago, we created a Universe, then sat back and watched miniature versions of ourselves try to make all the same mistakes we did. ~ Michael Summers
Dreaming quotes by Michael Summers
If you are reading this then you have wasted another day of your life day dreaming, rather than planning the life God intended you to live. ~ Shannon L. Alder
Dreaming quotes by Shannon L. Alder
Passed to my room and went to bed, and, strange to say, slept without dreaming. Despair has its own calms. 31 ~ Bram Stoker
Dreaming quotes by Bram Stoker
But what do you do with an unattainable crush once it's yours to keep? What does it become? Should there perhaps be a word to describe it? Because that's the thing with getting what you want: all that yearning and dreaming and fantasizing leaves a great big hole that can only be filled with more yearning and dreaming and fantasizing. ~ Lisa Jewell
Dreaming quotes by Lisa Jewell
Once, when I was a child, I dreamed that Grimbeard the Ghastly, on the deck of his ship The Endless Journey, threw the sword Endeavor up into the air. Up and up it spun, through the inky blackness, across the cavernous span of a hundred years, until, entirely of its own accord, my own left hand sprang out of space and stars and never-ending time and caught it. Now that I am so very old, I am dreaming once again. And in my dream, I am the one throwing the sword. It is spinning now, in the black starlit waters of my dream, right above your head, dear reader. A sword that may look second-best, and secondhand, but but carries the memories of a thousand lost fights, a history lesson in itself. Reach out, and catch it by the hilt. Swear by its name, Endeavor, to do your utmost to make the world a better place than when you arrived in it. For look! There will be dragons all around you, as camouflaged as a Stealth Dragon. ~ Cressida Cowell
Dreaming quotes by Cressida Cowell
I think every American kid grows up dreaming about being in the movies. That's completely normal for us. But I mostly wanted to be a writer, and I got taught the scriptwriting program. ~ David Labrava
Dreaming quotes by David Labrava
Sooner or later we stop running, stop climbing, stop reaching for the sky. We stop pushing ourselves toward unattainable goals because common sense tells us that the only logical thing to do is push ourselves toward the attainable ones. If running through the world like kids on the playground is a kind of dream, then at a certain point we just stop dreaming. ~ Sam A. Patel
Dreaming quotes by Sam A. Patel
Quicksands

Demons and Wonders
Winds and Tides
Yet in the distance the sea has
withdrawn
Demons and Wonders
Winds and Tides
And you
Like a seaweed the wind gently
caresses
In the sands of your bed you're
moving dreaming
Demons and Wonders
Winds and Tides
Yet in the distance the sea has
withdrawn
But in your half-opened eyes
Two small waves staid
Demons and Wonders
Winds and Tides
Two small waves to drown myself. ~ Jacques Prevert
Dreaming quotes by Jacques Prevert
And perhaps for my mother this dream was the truth, and just by dreaming it she felt she had brought it to pass. ~ Zadie Smith
Dreaming quotes by Zadie Smith
I'm dreaming of impossible things, I said. ~ Christina Lauren
Dreaming quotes by Christina Lauren
In France, it's always about life, normal life. We always stick with these realistic things. So when French people are dreaming about American movies, they go and see the thrillers, and Westerns, and science fiction, huge entertaining movies. ~ Berenice Bejo
Dreaming quotes by Berenice Bejo
Don't be afraid to start dreaming new dreams. You're never too old to dream a new dream. ~ Brittainy C. Cherry
Dreaming quotes by Brittainy C. Cherry
You simply couldn't guard yourself against dreams. they attacked late at night when a person was at the most vulnerable. ~ Kate O'Riordan
Dreaming quotes by Kate O'Riordan
Some people are like that - always searching fro something better, never satisfied.,Makes you wonder if they ever get a good night's sleep. They must toss and turn, dreaming about a softer mattress or a plumper pillow. ~ Farahad Zama
Dreaming quotes by Farahad Zama
While most are dreaming of success, winners wake up and work hard to achieve it. Anything worth having is hard work. ~ JB Lexington
Dreaming quotes by JB Lexington
Studies have shown that retaining memories can be improved by getting sufficient sleep between the time of activity and a test. Neuroimaging shows that the areas of the brain that are activated during sleep are the same as those involved in learning a new task. Dreaming is perhaps useful in consolidating this new information. ~ Michio Kaku
Dreaming quotes by Michio Kaku
Its weird how i dream things that are worth writing. Its like God is writing them into my mind while i am sleeping and the moment i woke up i know i have to write what i dreamt ~ Tebogo Phakedi
Dreaming quotes by Tebogo Phakedi
So we are steaming along without any landmark; we can't gauge our speed. We are making progress and yet nothing is changing. It's not navigation but dreaming. ~ Albert Camus
Dreaming quotes by Albert Camus
I don't dream. Come to think of it, i haven't had any dreams in a long time. ~ Haruki Murakami
Dreaming quotes by Haruki Murakami
We clutter the earth with our inventions, never dreaming that possibly they are unnecessary - or disadvantageous. We devise astounding means of communication, but do we communicate with one another? We move our bodies to and fro and incredible speeds, but do we really leave the spot we started from? Mentally, morally, spiritually, we are fettered. What have we achieved in mowing down mountain ranges, harnessing the energy of mighty rivers, or moving whole populations about like chess pieces, if we ourselves remain the same restless, miserable, frustrated creatures we were before? To call such activity progress is utter delusion. We may succeed in altering the face of the earth until it is unrecognizable even to the Creator, but if we are unaffected wherein lies the meaning? ~ Henry Miller
Dreaming quotes by Henry Miller
Your skin is prickly from fatigue and pain and there is a hissing in your ears. Time passes and the pills are taking hold like a glowing white planet coming into view. A reverse eclipse. And you watch with your eyes closed. The white planet is half exposed, it grips your heart in its light and seems to be pulling you forward and now you feel that you are falling. You are awake but dreaming. "The earth is not beautiful but the universe is," you say. ~ Patrick DeWitt
Dreaming quotes by Patrick DeWitt
Man is a genius when he is dreaming. ~ Akira Kurosawa
Dreaming quotes by Akira Kurosawa
Am I awake or dreaming? It doesn't matter anymore. When I close my eyes I dream of death and war. When I open my eyes I see death and war. ~ Michael Anthony
Dreaming quotes by Michael Anthony
Dreams are memories.
Memories are dreams.
But my time with you hasn't become a dream just yet.
Because the sensation of your kisses
keep me from sleep.
I'm in love,
God help me, I'm in love. ~ F.K. Preston
Dreaming quotes by F.K. Preston
I miss dreaming forwards," Anna said.
"What?"
"I dream backwards now. You won't believe how backwards you'll dream someday. ~ Marina Keegan
Dreaming quotes by Marina Keegan
I have a dream, one dream, keep dreaming. Dream of freedom, justice dreaming, dreaming of equality and hopefully no longer required to dream them ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dreaming quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.
Tis not for golden eloquence I pray,
A godlike tongue to move a stony heart
Methinks it were full well to be apart
In solitary uplands far away,
Betwixt the blossoms of a rosy spray,
Dreaming upon the wonderful sweet face
Of Nature, in a wild and pathless place. ~ Frederick Tennyson
Dreaming quotes by Frederick Tennyson
You can shoo people away in real life, but not when they force their way in through the dream door. ~ Donna Lynn Hope
Dreaming quotes by Donna Lynn Hope
All the dying that summer began with the death of a child, a boy with golden hair and thick glasses, killed on the railroad tracks outside New Bremen, Minnesota, sliced into pieces by a thousand tons of steel speeding across the prairie toward South Dakota. His name was Bobby Cole. He was a sweet-looking kid and by that I mean he had eyes that seemed full of dreaming and he wore a half smile as if he was just about to understand something you'd spent an hour trying to explain. I should have known him better, been a better friend. He lived not far from my house and we were the same age. But he was two years behind me in school and might have been held back even more except for the kindness of certain teachers. He was a small kid, a simple child, no match at all for the diesel-fed drive of a Union Pacific locomotive. It ~ William Kent Krueger
Dreaming quotes by William Kent Krueger
Nothing is forgotten in the processes of idealization. Reveries of idealization develop, not by letting oneself be taken in by memories, but by constantly dreaming the values of a being whom one would love. And that is the way a great dreamer dreams his double. His magnified double sustains him. ~ Gaston Bachelard
Dreaming quotes by Gaston Bachelard
However much you have been wanting and hoping and dreaming of meeting the person of your dreams, it is only when you meet them that you will start missing them. It seems that the presence of an object is required to make its absence felt (or to make the absence of something felt). A kind of longing may have preceded their arrival, but you have to meet in order to feel the full force of your frustration in their absence. ~ Adam Phillips
Dreaming quotes by Adam Phillips
For me the experience of writing is really an experience of losing control. ... I think it's very much like dreaming or like surfing. You go out there and wait for a wave, and when it comes it takes you somewhere and you don't know where it'll go. ~ Margaret Atwood
Dreaming quotes by Margaret Atwood
Garraty wondered how it would be, to lie in the biggest, dustiest library silence of all, dreaming endless, thoughtless dreams behind your gummed-down eyelids, dressed forever in your Sunday suit. No worries about money, success, fear, joy, pain, sorrow, sex, or love. Absolute zero. No father, mother, girlfriend, lover. The dead are orphans. No company but the silence like a moth's wing. An end to the agony of movement, to the long nightmare of going down the road. The body in peace, stillness, and order. The perfect darkness of death.
How would that be? Just how would that be? ~ Stephen King
Dreaming quotes by Stephen King
And besides, can't I do it the way I always used to as a child in matters that were dangerous? I don't even need to go to the country myself, it isn't necessary. I'll send my clothed body. If it staggers out of the door of my room, the staggering will indicate not fear but its nothingness. Nor is it excitement if it stumbles on the stairs, if it travels in the country, sobbing as it goes, and there eats its supper in tears. For I myself am meanwhile lying in my bed, smoothly covered over with the yellow-brown blanket, exposed to the breeze that is wafted through the seldom-aired room. The carriages and people in the street move and walk hesitantly on shining ground, for I am still dreaming. ~ Franz Kafka
Dreaming quotes by Franz Kafka
The fisher droppeth his net in the stream, And a hundred streams are the same as one; And the maiden dreameth her love-lit dream; And what is it all, when all is done? The net of the fisher the burden breaks, And always the dreaming the dreamer wakes. ~ Alice Cary
Dreaming quotes by Alice Cary
Auras tell a lot, Rose, and I'm very good at reading them. Much better than you friends probably are. A spirit dream wraps you own aura in gold, which is how I knew. Your personal aura is unique to you, though it fluctuates with your feelings and soul. When people are in love, it shows. Their auras shine. When you were dreaming, yours was bright. The colors were bright ... but not what expected from a boyfriend. Of course, not every relationship is the same. People are at different stages. I would've brushed it off, except ... "
"Except what?"
"Except, when you're with Dimitri, your aura's like the sun. So is his. ~ Richelle Mead
Dreaming quotes by Richelle Mead
Playing with the Who is the biggest rush there is. At eleven years old I used to go to bed dreaming about what I'm doing now. I don't know how many people can say that. ~ Zak Starkey
Dreaming quotes by Zak Starkey
Do not copy nature. Art is an abstraction. Rather, bring your art forth by dreaming in front of her and think more of creation. ~ Paul Gauguin
Dreaming quotes by Paul Gauguin
Was there only one world after all which spent its time dreaming of others? ~ Philip Pullman
Dreaming quotes by Philip Pullman
But if you accept dreams, you also have to accept nightmares, and I know nightmares are bad things. And if dreams are so special, why is it that no person or company has ever tried to make a drug that leads to better dreaming? Sleeping pills, yes, but dreaming pills? Have scientists even asked that question? ~ Douglas Coupland
Dreaming quotes by Douglas Coupland
"Dreaming is the vehicle that brings dreamers to this world," the emissary said, "and everything sorcerers know about dreaming was taught to them by us. Our world is connected to yours by a door called dreams. We know how to go through that door, but men don't. They have to learn it." ~ Carlos Castaneda
Dreaming quotes by Carlos Castaneda
You can't tell who you're going to end up with. You might spend your whole life dreaming about one type of person, only to find happiness with somebody completely different. ~ Kristin Walker
Dreaming quotes by Kristin Walker
Sometimes, on waking, she would close her eyes
For a last look at that white house she knew
In sleep alone, and held no title to,
And had not entered yet, for all her sighs.
What did she tell me of that house of hers?
White gatepost; terrace; fanlight of the door;
A widow's walk above the bouldered shore;
Salt winds that ruffle the surrounding firs.
Is she now there, wherever there may be?
Only a foolish man would hope to find
That haven fashioned by her dreaming mind.
Night after night, my love, I put to sea. ~ Richard Wilbur
Dreaming quotes by Richard Wilbur
Are you okay?"
"Well, I'd prefer to be in my own bedroom at home, dreaming of ponies and rainbows, but since I'm stuck here, I guess I'm as good as I can be. ~ L.J. Kentowski
Dreaming quotes by L.J. Kentowski
Who are we to say that they are not right now dreaming a better world? ~ Karen Thompson Walker
Dreaming quotes by Karen Thompson Walker
Disneyland is a work of love ... Drawing up plans and dreaming of what I could do, everything. It was just something I kind of kept playing around with. ~ Walt Disney
Dreaming quotes by Walt Disney
Pleasure's real or is it fantasy?
Reel to reel is living rarity, people stop and stare at me
We just walk on by, we just keep on dreaming
Dreaming, dreaming is free
Dreaming, dreaming is free ~ Blondie
Dreaming quotes by Blondie
Nothing is what one thinks it is. Cloth is stone and circus is an art. There are no certainties. ~ Walter Moers
Dreaming quotes by Walter Moers
The most important experiences of a man are those which take him to his or her limit.
To learn beyond that, one needs to accumulate all the courage and expand his limits.
Sex, pain and love are all extreme experiences. Dreaming big is another such extreme experience. ~ Manoj Arora
Dreaming quotes by Manoj Arora
Nothing is more tedious than the dreaming platitude. ~ Karl Marx
Dreaming quotes by Karl Marx
When you consider your dreaming explorations, and
where you may be pulled within those journeys, be aware
that your daytime actions also bring consequences to alternate realms, and that there are beings who will actively waylay your voyaging awareness. To be waylaid is to waste
one's life and one's time. ~ Lujan Matus
Dreaming quotes by Lujan Matus
Those dreaming of the perfect match are outnumbered by those who don't really want it at all, though perhaps they can't admit it. After all, our culture makes individual freedom, autonomy and fulfillment the very highest values, and thoughtful people know deep down that any love relationship at all means the loss of all three. You can say, 'I want someone who will accept me just as I am,' but in your heart of hearts you know that you are not perfect, that there are plenty of things about you that need to be changed, and that anyone who gets to know you up close and personal will want to change them. ~ Timothy Keller
Dreaming quotes by Timothy Keller
I knew his face when he came. Of course I knew it. Even a Star dreams. I have been dreaming a long time, and I watched the glittering cord of that man's life spool out until it intersected with mine, and how the sparks lit the grass at my feet! I looked at this man and thought: Oh, how we are going to hurt each other. But Stars, you know, are fixed in their courses, and we can no more change the throttling paces of orbit than a rabbit can shorten its ears. I saw his cord lashing and snapping in the dark, and could do nothing. ~ Catherynne M Valente
Dreaming quotes by Catherynne M Valente
Dreams are real as long as they last. Can we say more of life? ~ Havelock Ellis
Dreaming quotes by Havelock Ellis
Song

When I am dead, my dearest,
Sing no sad songs for me;
Plant thou no roses at my head,
Nor shady cypress tree:
Be the green grass above me
With showers and dewdrops wet;
And if thou wilt, remember,
And if thou wilt, forget.

I shall not see the shadows,
I shall not feel the rain;
I shall not hear the nightingale
Sing on, as if in pain:
And dreaming through the twilight
That doth not rise nor set,
Haply I may remember,
And haply may forget.

Sir Thomas Wyatt has been credited with introducing the Petrarchan sonnet into the English language. Wyatt's father had been one of Henry VII's Privy Councilors and remained a trusted adviser when Henry VIII came to the throne in 1509. Wyatt followed his father to court, but it seems the young poet may have fallen in love with the king's mistress, Anne Boleyn. Their acquaintance is certain, although whether or not the two actually shared a romantic relationship remains unknown. But in his poetry, Wyatt called his mistress Anna and there do seem to be correspondences. For instance, this poem might well have been written about the King's claim on Anne Boleyn: ~ Christina Rossetti
Dreaming quotes by Christina Rossetti
I cannot sleep for dreaming; I cannot dream but I wake and walk about the house as though I'd find you coming through some door. ~ Arthur Miller
Dreaming quotes by Arthur Miller
Smartass Disciple: Master, how do I know that I am not dreaming right now ?
Master of Stupidity: You don't. Only those who see you're dreaming can tell it. ~ Toba Beta
Dreaming quotes by Toba Beta
I never sleep. Like the dolphin and the spiny anteater, I don't experience REM. Unlike the dreamless mammals, I'm a construct. I am a living program inside a vast network of electronic impulses known as the LINK. In that datastream I've uncovered the meaning of another kind of dreaming
that of a fond hope or aspiration, a yearning, a desire, or a passion. This much I have. When I dream, I dream of Mecca. ~ Lyda Morehouse
Dreaming quotes by Lyda Morehouse
From around the corner's edge a grotesque light was trickling out, the first intimations of an ominous sunrise over a dark horizon. I dimly recognized this colored light, though not from my waking memory. It grew more intense, now pouring out in weird streams from beyond the solid margin of the building. And the more intense it grew, the more clearly I could hear the screaming voice that had called out to me in a dream. I shouted his name, but the swelling colored brightness was a field of fear which kept me from making any move toward it. It was no amalgam of colors comparable to anything in mortal experience. It was as if all natural colors had been mutated into a painfully lush iridescence by some prism fantastically corrupted in its form; it was a rainbow staining the sky after a poison deluge; it was an aurora painting the darkness with a blaze of insanity, a blaze that did not burn vigorously but shimmered with an insect-jeweled frailness. And, in actuality, it was nothing like these color-filled effusions, which are merely a feeble means of partially fixing a reality uncommunicable to those not initiated to it, a necessary resorting to the makeshift gibberish of the mystic isolated by his experience and left without a language to describe it.

("The Dreaming In Nortown") ~ Thomas Ligotti
Dreaming quotes by Thomas Ligotti
Some of us are fated to live in a box from which there is only temporary release. We of the damned-up spirits, of the thwarted feelings, of the blocked hearts, and the pent-up thoughts, we who long to blast out, flood forth in a torrent of rage or joy or even madness, but there is nowhere for us to go, nowhere in the world because no one will have us as we are, and there is nothing to do except to embrace the secret pleasures of our sublimations, the arc of a sentence, the kiss of a rhyme, the image that forms on paper or canvas, the inner cantata, the cloistered embroidery, the dark and dreaming needlepoint from hell or heaven or purgatory or none of those three, but there must be some sound and fury from us, some clashing cymbals in the void. ~ Siri Hustvedt
Dreaming quotes by Siri Hustvedt
These paper boats of mine are meant to dance on the ripples of hours, and not reach any destination. ~ Rabindranath Tagore
Dreaming quotes by Rabindranath Tagore
Just because you don't know how on Earth something might be achieved doesn't mean you shouldn't allow yourself to really, really want it. That's the essence of a dream, the realms of magic and of miracles. ~ Silvia Hartmann
Dreaming quotes by Silvia Hartmann
Underneath my imagination there didn't seem to be anything solid except for the space where I shoved my pain and sadness. Besides that, there were only twisted steel threads of axiety, woven through my body and brain, wired into me like a constant warning. Watch out, stay still, move away, stay silent, fight back, run and hide. Even when I was dreaming, but more so when I was awake, there was the constant fear of being caught off-guard, or by the wrong person at the wrong time. ~ Jane Devin
