Bono told me how to dance in high heels and he also told me about U2's Glastonbury performance and how everything that could have possibly gone wrong went wrong, including him ripping his trousers on stage. The person who thinks he has found the ultimate truth is wrong. ~ Joseph Campbell
Wrong Thinking quotes by Joseph Campbell
For the Orthodox tradition, then, Adam's original sin affects the human race in its entirety, and it has consequences both on the physical and the moral level: it, results not only in sickness and physical death, but in moral weakness and paralysis. But does it also imply an inherited guilt? Here Orthodoxy is more guarded. Original sin is not to be interpreted in juridical or quasi-biological terms, as if it were some physical 'taint' of guilt, transmitted through sexual intercourse. This picture, which normally passes for the Augustinian view, is unacceptable to Orthodoxy. The doctrine of original sin means rather that we are born into an environment where it is easy to do evil and hard to do good; easy to hurt others, and hard to heal their wounds; easy to arouse men's suspicions, and hard to win their trust. It means that we are each of us conditioned by the solidarity of the human race in its accumulated wrong-doing and wrong-thinking, and hence wrong-being. And to this accumulation of wrong we have ourselves added by our own deliberate acts of sin. The gulf grows wider and wider. It is here, in the solidarity of the human race, that we find an explanation for the apparent unjustness of the doctrine of original sin. Why, we ask, should the entire human race suffer because of Adam's fall? Why should all be punished because of one man's sin? The answer is that human beings, made in the image of the Trinitarian God, are interdependent and coinherent. No man is an island. We ~ Kallistos Ware
Wrong Thinking quotes by Kallistos Ware
It's characteristic of democracy that majority rule is understood as being effective not only in politics but also in thinking. In thinking, of course, the majority is always wrong. ~ Joseph Campbell
Wrong Thinking quotes by Joseph Campbell

Wrong Thinking quotes by Kenneth E. Hagin

Wrong Thinking quotes by Vincent Cassel
What man needs is not philosophy or religion in the academic or formalistic sense of the term, but ability to think rightly. The malady of the age is not absence of philosophy or even irreligion but wrong thinking and a vanity which passes for knowledge. Though it is difficult to define right thinking, it cannot be denied that it is the goal of the aspirations of everyone. ~ Krishnananda Saraswati
Wrong Thinking quotes by Krishnananda Saraswati
This solitude opressed her; she was accustomed to have her thoughts confirmed by others or, at all events, contradicted; it was too dreadful not to know whether she was thinking right or wrong. ~ E. M. Forster

I think having power ingrains people with a conservatism. There's a tendency to hedge one's bets. (Which explains a lot, actually, about why the movie business is the way it is, and why the publishing industry is too.) ~ Matthew Specktor
Wrong Thinking quotes by Matthew Specktor
It's gotten to the point where I think my friends would rather hang out with their own kids than hang out with me. And I'm like, "Alright, but where's the loyalty, man. I've known you for twenty-five years. How long have you known your baby, like, a month?" ~ Arj Barker
Wrong Thinking quotes by Arj Barker
I think the whole nostalgia for the forty year gap for [Sylvester] Stallone was bigger than the movie [Creed], but it's good because the movie still gets recognized with Stallone's involvement. I'm sure the director [Ryan Coogler] is still proud of his film, but it's very hard to nominate a director. ~ Bun B.
Wrong Thinking quotes by Bun B.
I am a socialist not because I think it is a perfect system, but half a loaf is better than no bread. The other system has been tried and found wanting ~ Swami Vivekananda
Wrong Thinking quotes by Swami Vivekananda
Dogmatic religion has been used to fantastic effect over thousands of years to fuel and exploit emotions like fear and guilt, and the feeling of being 'unworthy'. This has encouraged people to hand over their right to think and feel to a Bible and a priest because they have not had the confidence or self-belief to realize that they have a right, and an infinite gift, to make their own decisions ~ David Icke
Wrong Thinking quotes by David Icke
I am someone who takes everything very literally. I simply do not understand irony, a defect I have had ever since I was able to think independently. ~ Werner Herzog
Wrong Thinking quotes by Werner Herzog
A part of me was disdainful of the newfound attention I was receiving. You see me now? I'm attractive now? Receiving the congratulations, the praises in some small way felt like accepting that what I'd been before - all of my life - was wrong. Even though I'd often felt that way myself, I resented that the size of my body was correlated to my value, my worth as a person. ~ Andie Mitchell
Wrong Thinking quotes by Andie Mitchell
We are all the time, from our childhood, trying to lay the blame upon something outside ourselves. We are always standing up to set right other people, and not ourselves. If we are miserable, we say, "Oh, the world is a devil's world." We curse others and say, "What infatuated fools!" But why should we be in such a world, if we really are so good? If this is a devil's world, we must be devils also; why else should we be here? "Oh, the people of the world are so selfish!" True enough; but why should we be found in that company, if we be better? Just think of that. ~ Swami Vivekananda
Wrong Thinking quotes by Swami Vivekananda
I believe a lot in destiny and I think that if something didn't happen, it was for a reason. ~ Didier Drogba
Wrong Thinking quotes by Didier Drogba
Now that it was safe to drag their relationship out into the light and examine it mercilessly it was fantastic on what a thin basis they had proposed to build their life. Apart from physical attraction, there was nothing between them but fun and parties, and that was not entirely a taste in common.

Wrong Thinking quotes by Daniel Johns
I had received Christ as my savior when I was a child, but I didn't know anything. I didn't have any knowledge. I didn't go to church. And I had a lot of problems, and I needed somebody to kind of help me along. And I think sometimes even people who want to serve God, if they have got so many problems that they don't think right and they don't act right and they don't behave right, they almost need somebody to take them by the hand and help lead them through the early years. And that's really what discipleship is. It's helping people. ~ Joyce Meyer
Wrong Thinking quotes by Joyce Meyer

What shall we think of a government to which all the truly brave and just men in the land are enemies, standing between it and those whom it oppresses? A government that pretends to be Christian and crucifies a million Christs every day! ~ Henry David Thoreau
Wrong Thinking quotes by Henry David Thoreau
The tragedy of consumerism: one acquires more and more things without taking the time to ever see and know them, and thus one never truly enjoys them. One has without truly having. The consumer is right-there is pleasure to be had in good things, a sacred and almost unspeakable pleasure, but the consumer wrongly thinks that one finds this pleasure by having more and more possessions instead of possessing them more truly through grateful contemplation. And here we are, living in an economy that perpetuates this tragedy. ~ Brian D. McLaren

That was how it was when you loved someone: their well-being was all you thought about, if they were fine, you felt fine. That was the amazing thing about love too: when you held someone in your heart, any hardship or wrong you experienced felt like nothing but a sweet torment. Si ~ Tang Qi
Wrong Thinking quotes by Tang Qi
Who you are at 20 will not be who you are at 40 and if it is, SOMETHING IS WRONG! ~ Tyler Perry
Wrong Thinking quotes by Tyler Perry
I not only think but also look and study things carefully. When I travel around, I look at things carefully, make comparisons of what I see. I don't accept things at face value, you cannot trust what you hear or see. Don't jump to conclusions without thinking. ~ Mahathir Mohamad
Wrong Thinking quotes by Mahathir Mohamad
I still think about that one Jamiroquai video a lot. ~ Doris Kearns Goodwin
