Every one of us, unconsciously, works out a personal philosophy of life, by which we are guided, inspired, and corrected, as time goes on. It is this philosophy by which we measure out our days, and by which we advertise to all about us the man, or woman, that we are... It takes but a brief time to scent the life philosophy of anyone. It is defined in the conversation, in the look of the eye, and in the general mien of the person. It has no hiding place. It's like the perfume of a flower -- unseen, but known almost instantly. It is the possession of the successful, and the happy. And it can be greatly embellished by the absorption of ideas and experiences of the useful of this earth. ~ George Matthew Adams
Time Goes On quotes by George Matthew Adams
Towers' is the name of the dormitory that I lived in in college; it's made up of these two towers – North and South – my girlfriend lived in one and I lived in the other. It's about falling in love, but also about what happens when you've long fallen out of love and those reminders are still there. You drive by them, these two buildings, and you look, and you realise that we really built that up. That we really built that love into these things, and for a long time afterward looking at them really made me feel sad; to see these empty buildings that I don't go in to anymore. But then, as time goes on, they start to become kind of joyous in their own way: you can look at them and think 'that love was great and these buildings still stand tall'. But there's also an element of the fact that they're just buildings – they're gonna fall down one day, and they're not that important because there's new love in your life and you've got to break things down that get built up. ~ Justin Vernon
Time Goes On quotes by Justin Vernon
As time goes on, I will play characters who get older: I don't want to be some Botoxed weirdo. ~ Jodie Foster
Time Goes On quotes by Jodie Foster
Parenting forces us to get to know ourselves better than we ever might have imagined we could
and in many new ways ... We'll discover talents we never dreamed we had and fervently wish for others at moments we feel we desperately need them. As time goes on, we'll probably discover that we have more to give and can give more than we ever imagined. But we'll also find that there are limits to our giving, and that may be hard for us to accept. ~ Fred Rogers
Time Goes On quotes by Fred Rogers
I have great respect for Sean Penn. It's like most relationships that fail. It's not one thing, it's many thing that go on over a period of time. ~ Madonna Ciccone
Time Goes On quotes by Madonna Ciccone
As time goes on, all schools only get left alive if they have found something special themselves. ~ Ninette De Valois
Time Goes On quotes by Ninette De Valois
The source of love, as I learned later, is a curiosity which, combined with the inclination which nature is obliged to give us in order to preserve itself. […] Hence women make no mistake in taking such pains over their person and their clothing, for it is only by these that they can arouse a curiosity to read them in those whom nature at their birth declared worthy of something better than blindness. […] As time goes on a man who has loved many women, all of them beautiful, reaches the point of feeling curious about ugly women if they are new to him. He sees a painted woman. The paint is obvious to him, but it does not put him off. His passion, which has become a vice, is ready with the fraudulent title page. 'It is quite possible,' he tells himself, 'that the book is not as bad as all that; indeed, it may have no need of this absurd artifice.' He decides to scan it, he tries to turn over the pages - but no! the living book objects; it insists on being read properly, and the 'egnomaniac' becomes a victim of coquetry, the monstrous persecutor of all men who ply the trade of love.

You, Sir, who are a man of intelligence and have read these least twenty lines, which Apollo drew from my pen, permit me to tell you that if they fail to disillusion you, you are lost - that is, you will be the victim of the fair sex to the last moment of your life. If that prospect pleases you, I congratulate you ~ Giacomo Casanova
Time Goes On quotes by Giacomo Casanova
I like how time goes on set. It's almost like time on an airplane or something where people are together. It's a different, very trippy kind of time, I find, because you're together in imaginary time where you're out of time. You're called upon to be present and honor what can happen in the moment. And the whole day can go like that. The whole day can be a kind of meditation. ~ Jeff Goldblum
Time Goes On quotes by Jeff Goldblum
I have this feeling that as time goes on, we're not getting any more civilized, and we should be. We're still running around like the days of Genghis Khan. There are so many important, better things to do and we need to encourage people to reach into the brighter side of humanity and not encourage people to continue to glorify the darker side. ~ Ben Carson
Time Goes On quotes by Ben Carson
We're running out of time, he said.
As if time were the kind of thing you could run out of, as if it were measured into bowls that were handed to us at birth and if we ate too much or too fast or right before jumping into the water then our time would be lost, wasted, already spent.
But time is beyond our finite comprehension. It's endless, it exists outside of us; we cannot run out of it or lose track of it or find a way to hold on to it. Time goes on even when we do not. ~ Tahereh Mafi
Time Goes On quotes by Tahereh Mafi
It is also said of me that I now and then contradict myself. Yes, I improve wonderfully as time goes on. ~ George Jean Nathan
Time Goes On quotes by George Jean Nathan
The more and more as time goes on, I am convinced that the energy of love will liberate the most daunting of times. You can empty your pockets for the purchases of items to fill the void, but once all that you have; makes you feel less than you started, you will see like me; the intensity of Love, is the only way through. ~ Nikki Rowe
Time Goes On quotes by Nikki Rowe
Come back, true love! Sweet youth, return!
But time goes on, and will, unheeding,
Though hands will reach, and eyes will yearn,
And the wild days set true hearts bleeding. ~ Conrad Aiken
Time Goes On quotes by Conrad Aiken
It's a messy business, dying,' he said. 'As time goes on there's just less and less of you. It happens quickly for some; for others it can drag on. Starting from birth you keep losing one thing after another: first a finger, than an arm, first a tooth, then a whole set of teeth, first one memory, then all your memory, and so on and so forth, until one day there's nothing left. Then they chuck what's left of you in a hole and shovel it in and that's your lot. ~ Robert Seethaler
Time Goes On quotes by Robert Seethaler
When you first start out as an actor, you're just looking for a good part. As time goes on, if you're being held responsible for the movies themselves, you're looking for a good script all around. ~ George Clooney
Time Goes On quotes by George Clooney
Reporting is pretty vital to me. It keeps me connected to the world. A 40-hour-per-week day job may be less feasible as time goes on. ~ Laura Lippman
Time Goes On quotes by Laura Lippman
This is why I shall not tell you in this story about all the days when nothing happened. You will not catch me saying, 'thus the sad days passed slowly by'
or 'the years rolled on their weary course'
or 'time went on'
because it is silly; of course time goes on
whether you say so or not. So I shall just tell you the nice, interesting parts
and in between you will understand that we had our meals and got up and went to bed, and dull things like that. ~ E. Nesbit
Time Goes On quotes by E. Nesbit
When I was a young guy, I knew everything. Now I know very little. I know less and less as the time goes on. ~ Anthony Hopkins
Time Goes On quotes by Anthony Hopkins
For everyone who, having no artistic sense-that is to say, no submission to subjective reality-may have the knack of reasoning about art till doomsday, especially if he be, in addition, a diplomat or financier in contact with the 'realities' of the present day, is only too ready to believe literature is an intellectual game which is destined to gradually be abandoned as time goes on. ~ Marcel Proust
Time Goes On quotes by Marcel Proust
Time goes on, and your life is still there, and you have to live it. After a while you remember the good things more often than the bad. Then, gradually, the empty silent parts of you fill up with sounds of talking and laughter again, and the jagged edges of sadness are softened by memories. ~ Lois Lowry
Time Goes On quotes by Lois Lowry
As time goes on we become old, the future contracts, the past expands ... But by future we don't just mean the years ahead; we always mean as well the plenitude of possibilities which challenge our creativity ... In confrontation with the future we can become young if we accept the future's challenges. ~ Jurgen Moltmann
Time Goes On quotes by Jurgen Moltmann
I am sure that the two main forms of English, American English and British English, separated geographically from the beginning and severed politically since 1776, are continuing to move apart, and that existing elements of linguistic dissimilarity between them will intensify as time goes on, notwithstanding the power of the cinema, TV, Time Magazine, and other two-way gluing and fuelling devices. ~ Robert Burchfield
Time Goes On quotes by Robert Burchfield
But as time goes on we not only remember specific things in relation to the people we have loved; their lives get built into our lives and finally the transference is complete. We are what we are because of them. ~ May Sarton
Time Goes On quotes by May Sarton
There are very few young goalkeepers who play at the top level. Most goalkeepers figure it out as time goes on. ~ Tim Howard
Time Goes On quotes by Tim Howard
[She] smiles, too, and eats and drinks, and is happy, and outside the kitchen window the wind blows and the world shifts and crumbles and rearranges itself, and time goes on. ~ Margaret Atwood
Time Goes On quotes by Margaret Atwood
In a way, a garden is the most useless of creations, the most slippery of creations: it is not like a painting or a piece of sculpture - it won't accrue value as time goes on. Time is its enemy' time passing is merely the countdown for the parting between garden and gardener. ~ Jamaica Kincaid
Time Goes On quotes by Jamaica Kincaid
The more time goes on, the closer I am to the ground. I've been exposed to so many issues and people living under different pressures. It's helped me realize that a lot of glamorous things that people prioritize really don't matter. ~ Queen Rania Of Jordan
Time Goes On quotes by Queen Rania Of Jordan
I think bookstore browsing will become more cherished as time goes on because it can't be replicated virtually. ~ Chuck Hogan
Time Goes On quotes by Chuck Hogan
They were quiet for a time, alone with their thoughts, but then John sat up straight, struck by a thought. "There's a passage in Exodus - God tells Moses, 'No one can see My face, but I will protect you with My hand until I have passed by you, and then I will remove My hand and you will see My back.' Remember that?"
Emilio nodded, listening.
Well I always thought that was a physical metaphor," John said, "but, you know - I wonder now if it isn't really about time? Maybe that was God's way of telling us that we can never know His intentions, but as time goes on ... we'll understand. We'll see where He was: we'll see His back. ~ Mary Doria Russell
Time Goes On quotes by Mary Doria Russell
It becomes more important to me as time goes on to make every album the best thing I've ever done, so it's a lot of self-imposed pressure that also kind of slows me down a bit. ~ Al Yankovic
Time Goes On quotes by Al Yankovic
We start off wearing frilly shirts and britches and being good guys and the heroes. And then as time goes on, every English actor ends up playing bad guys. That's what we do. ~ James Purefoy
Time Goes On quotes by James Purefoy
I can't say I cared much for you when I first came back. There's that crappy attitude of yours, and you're ugly, but you kind of grow on a guy."
Immensely cheered, Seth snickered. "You're uglier."
"I'm bigger, I'm entitled. So I guess I'll hang around to see if you get any prettier as time goes on."
"I didn't really want you to go," Seth said under his breath after a long moment. It was the closest he could get to speaking his heart.
"I know. ~ Nora Roberts
Time Goes On quotes by Nora Roberts
As time goes on, thing do get made up. ~ Bart D. Ehrman
Time Goes On quotes by Bart D. Ehrman
We are drawn towards a thing, either because there is some good we are seeking from it, or because we cannot do without it. Sometimes the two motives coincide. Often however they do not. Each is distinct and quite independent. We eat distasteful food, if we have nothing else, because we cannot do otherwise. A moderately greedy man looks out for delicacies, but he can easily do without them. If we have no air we are suffocated, we struggle to get it, not because we expect to get some advantage from it but because we need it. We go in search of sea air without being driven by any necessity, because we like it. In time it often comes about automatically that the second motive takes the place of the first. This is one of the great misfortunes of our race. A man spokes opium in order to attain to a special condition, which he thinks superior; often, as time goes on, the opium reduces him to a miserable condition which he feels to be degrading; but he is no longer able to do without it. ~ Simone Weil
Time Goes On quotes by Simone Weil
It's uncommon, but there are some people who just have a delayed circadian rhythm and they just - they sleep better during the day then they do at night. So they've - a lot of those people with delayed sleep phase disorder they start to work in bars, they work some of the late night shifts, they sort of adjust to doing it more and more as time goes on. ~ Shelby Harris
Time Goes On quotes by Shelby Harris
Time is like money, the less we have of it to spare the further we make it go. ~ Josh Billings
Time Goes On quotes by Josh Billings
We're really endless in a way. If time goes on forever, then any way you divide it is also forever. A tenth of infinity is infinity. It's only us that think the time is gone. It isn't. We're still there. Still at our wedding. Still on honeymoon. All the good times are still happening. Even in the middle of the bad times to come, we'll still be together. Forever, in a way. ~ Jason Dias
Time Goes On quotes by Jason Dias
Every second that goes by is a point of no return. ~ J.R. Rim
Time Goes On quotes by J.R. Rim
Time goes on. So whatever you're going to do, do it. Do it now. Don't wait. ~ Robert De Niro
Time Goes On quotes by Robert De Niro
People that are really smart and that can learn new things can almost always find a role in the company as time goes on. ~ Sam Altman
Time Goes On quotes by Sam Altman
But as time goes on, they, as all men, will find that independence was not made for man- that it is an unnatural state- will do for a while, but will not carry us on safely to the end ~ Aldous Huxley
Time Goes On quotes by Aldous Huxley
(Mariners) have written one of its most brilliant chapters. They have delivered the goods when and where needed in every theater of operations and across every ocean in the biggest, the most difficult and dangerous job ever undertaken. As time goes on, there will be greater public understanding of our merchant's fleet record during this war. ~ Franklin D. Roosevelt
Time Goes On quotes by Franklin D. Roosevelt
The day I became a writer
it wasn't the day a whore paid me in sex
in exchange for one of my books
which happened often and more and more
as time went on
it wasn't the first time someone
actually paid for one of my books
which happens less and less
as time goes on
It was the day I realized
that everything is created by man
God, Satan, Judas, phobias, excrement, even death
even women
everything is created by man
So I said to myself
shit, let me make something
let me tape together some words
and sentences
and prose
and predicates
and the residual shit that sticks to my ass after I wipe
and compose a new kind of thing
But then I realized that others had discovered this
for themselves as well
And suddenly the world became a jungle
Where everyone eats each other alive
And shits out the same shit ~ Dave Matthes
Time Goes On quotes by Dave Matthes
Occasionally, events in one's life become clearer through the prism of experience, a phrase which simply means that things tend to be clearer as time goes on. For instance, when a person is just born, they usually have no idea what curtains are and spend a great deal of their first months wondering why on earth Mommy and Daddy have hung large pieces of cloth over each window in the nursery. But as the person grows older, the idea of curtains becomes clearer through the prism of experience. The person will learn the word "curtains" and notice that they are actually quite handy for keeping a room dark when it is time to sleep, and for decorating an otherwise boring window area. Eventually, they will entirely accept the idea of curtains of their own, or venetian blinds, and it is all due to the prism of experience. ~ Lemony Snicket
Time Goes On quotes by Lemony Snicket
The decision to leave [the church] is you're giving up everything you've worked for your whole life. I feel that people need to understand this has been my whole life. As time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world. The mindset becomes us against them. ~ Leah Remini
Time Goes On quotes by Leah Remini
As time goes on, I realize more and more that, beginning in the early 30's, David Smith began setting the precedent for what was to come later for many of us. ~ Kenneth Noland
Time Goes On quotes by Kenneth Noland
Home economics should find its way into the curriculum of every school because the scientific study of a problem pertaining to food, shelter or clothing ... raises manual labor that might be drudgery to the plane of intelligent effort that is always self-respecting ... Home economics is not one department, in the sense in which dairying or entomology or soils is a department. It is not a single speciality ... Many technical and educational departments will grow out of it as time goes on. ~ Martha Van Rensselaer
Time Goes On quotes by Martha Van Rensselaer
I live now on borrowed time, waiting in the anteroom for the summons that will inevitably come. And then - I go on to the next thing, whatever it is. One doesn't, luckily, have to bother about that. ~ Agatha Christie
Time Goes On quotes by Agatha Christie
Her many achievements will be appreciated more as time goes on. ~ Ronald Reagan
Time Goes On quotes by Ronald Reagan
Even more essential, however, is the identification of the individuals in the masses with the "führer." The more helpless the "mass-individual" has become, owing to his upbringing, the more pronounced is his identification with the führer, and the more the childish need for protection is disguised in the form of a feeling at one with the führer. This inclination to identify is the psychological basis of national narcissism, i.e., of the self-confidence that individual man derives from the "greatness of the nation." The reactionary lower middle-class man perceives himself in the führer, in the authoritarian state. On the basis of this identification he feels himself to be a defender of the "national heritage," of the "nation," which does not prevent him, likewise on the basis of this identification, from simultaneously despising "the masses" and confronting them as an individual. The wretchedness of his material and sexual situation is so overshadowed by the exalting idea of belonging to a master race and having a brilliant führer that, as time goes on, he ceases to realize how completely he has sunk to a position of insignificant, blind allegiance.

The worker who is conscious of his skills - he, in short, who has rid himself of his submissive structure, who identifies with his work and not with the führer, with the international working masses and not with the national homeland - represents the opposite of this. He feels himself to be a leader, not on the basis of ~ Wilhelm Reich
Time Goes On quotes by Wilhelm Reich
I had got this far, and was thinking of what to say next, and as my habit is, I was pricking the paper idly with my pen. And I thought how, between one dip of the pen and the next, time goes on, and I hurry, drive myself, and speed toward death. We are always dying. I while I write, you while you read, and others while they listen or stop their ears, they are all dying. ~ Francesco Petrarca
Time Goes On quotes by Francesco Petrarca
As time goes on, new and remoter aspects of truth are discovered which can seldom be fitted into creeds that are changeless. ~ Clarence Day Jr.
Time Goes On quotes by Clarence Day Jr.
In any relationship, there will be frightening spells in which your feelings of love dry up. And when that happens you must remember that the essence of marriage is that it is a covenant, a commitment, a promise of future love. So what do you do? You do the acts of love, despite your lack of feeling. You may not feel tender, sympathetic, and eager to please, but in your actions you must BE tender, understanding, forgiving and helpful. And, if you do that, as time goes on you will not only get through the dry spells, but they will become less frequent and deep, and you will become more constant in your feelings. This is what can happen if you decide to love. ~ Timothy Keller
Time Goes On quotes by Timothy Keller
I'm a great believer in everything at the right time. Go on a crazy spree if it's the right time to do it but choose your moment carefully and beware of impulse buying. ~ Lemar
Time Goes On quotes by Lemar
As time goes on and the horrors pile up, the mind seems to secrete a sort of self-protecting ignorance which needs a harder and harder shock to pierce it, just as the body will become immunised to a drug and require bigger and bigger doses. ~ George Orwell
Time Goes On quotes by George Orwell
You attend the funeral, you bid the dead farewell. You grieve. Then you continue with your life. And at times the fact of her absence will hit you like a blow to the chest, and you will weep. But this will happen less and less as time goes on. She is dead. You are alive. So live. ~ Neil Gaiman
Time Goes On quotes by Neil Gaiman
It's kind of a mysterious process, but something will catch my attention, and I'll make a note about it. I may even write a few pages about it, and then I'll put it aside, but I'll sort of keep it in mind. Then as time goes on, other things will gather to it as if it's a magnet, almost, and eventually, there's enough to make the story. ~ Kim Edwards
Time Goes On quotes by Kim Edwards
One of the torturous things about my job is that, as time goes on, you get more and more clarity on all the things you've screwed up and all the mistakes you've made. ~ Matt Cohler
Time Goes On quotes by Matt Cohler
I had a healthy appetite [being pregnant]. I got more healthy as time goes on, and they grew. I never let myself go. ~ Jennifer Lopez
Time Goes On quotes by Jennifer Lopez
There's a freedom to being young that is harder to come by as time goes on. ~ Dave Matthews
Time Goes On quotes by Dave Matthews
Once, in a kingdom called Delain, there was a King with two sons. Delain was a very old kingdom and it had had hundreds of Kings, perhaps even thousands; when time goes on long enough, not even historians can remember everything. ~ Stephen King
Time Goes On quotes by Stephen King
And so Time goes on as it should and events that were once fated to happen are left instead to chance, and Chance never falls in love with anything for long. ~ Erin Morgenstern
Time Goes On quotes by Erin Morgenstern
Incomplete," he says. "If I'm whole, why do I feel like I'm not?" And as usual, Roberta has a calming platitude intended to ease his mind, but as time goes on her rote wisdom leaves him flat and disappointed.

"Wholeness comes from creating experiences that are solely yours, Cam," she tells him. "Live your life and soon you'll find the lives of those who came before won't matter. Those who gave rise to you mean nothing compared to what you are."

But how can he live his life when he's not convinced he has one? The attacks in the press conference still plague him. If a human being has a soul, then where is his? And if the human soul is indivisible, then how can his be the sum of the parts of all the kids who gave rise to him? He's not one of them, he's not all of them, so who is he?

His questions make Roberta impatient. "I'm sorry," she tells him, "but I don't deal in the unanswerable."

"So you don't believe in souls?" Cam asks her.

"I didn't say that, but I don't try to answer things that don't have tangible data. If people have souls, then you must have one, proved by the mere fact that you're alive."

"But what if there is no 'I' inside me? What if I'm just flesh going through the motions, with nothing inside?"

Roberta considers this, or at least pretends to. "Well, if that were the case, I doubt you'd be asking these questions." She thinks for a moment. "If you must have a construct, then think of it ~ Neal Shusterman
Time Goes On quotes by Neal Shusterman
Reputation is fine but you have to keep justifying it. In a sense, it makes it harder because people's expectations of you are higher. So, you have to fulfill those expectations. Or, try to exceed those expectations. But, it becomes more difficult as time goes on. ~ Derek Jacobi
Time Goes On quotes by Derek Jacobi
Now the guy that got to the top, the CEO, would obviously be stupid to have a number two guy who was a lot smarter than he is. So by definition, since he's a survivor and he got to the top and he isn't that brilliant, his number two guy is going to always be a little worse than he is. So, as time goes on, it's anti-Darwinism, the survival of the un- fittest. ~ Carl Icahn
Time Goes On quotes by Carl Icahn
There have been prophets and students who handle the Bible like a child's box of bricks; they explain to us the design and structure and purpose; but as time goes on things do not work out in their way at all. They have mistaken the scaffolding for the structure, while all the time God is working out His purpose with a great and undeterred patience. ~ Oswald Chambers
Time Goes On quotes by Oswald Chambers
I was deliberately trying to express how possible it might be for unmarried men and adults not blessed with biological children to become "fathers of choice." In an old-fashioned, traditional world, this might not matter. But I think that it's probably going to become terribly relevant as time goes on. ~ Mamoru Hosoda
Time Goes On quotes by Mamoru Hosoda
It seems to me, as time goes on, that the only thing that is worth seeking for is to know and to be known by Christ
a privilege open alone to the childlike, who, with receptivity, guilelessness, and humility, move Godward. ~ Charles Brent
Time Goes On quotes by Charles Brent
I fully realize that the new organization is a human rather than a perfect instrumentality for the attainment of its great objective. As time goes on it will, I am sure, be improved. ~ Cordell Hull
Time Goes On quotes by Cordell Hull
All life is bound to a simple truth ... that time goes on, that in each person's life begins a tale, a tale that will either end in memory or in legend. ~ M.J. Chrisman
Time Goes On quotes by M.J. Chrisman
The relatively new trouble with mass society is perhaps even more serious, but not because of the masses themselves, but because this society is essentially a consumers' society where leisure time is used no longer for self-perfection or acquisition of more social status, but for more and more consumption and more and more entertainment ... To believe that such a society will become more "cultured" as time goes on and education has done its work, is, I think, a fatal mistake. The point is that a consumers' society cannot possibly know how to take care of a world and the things which belong exclusively to the space of worldly appearances, because its central attitude toward all objects, the attitude of consumption, spells ruin to everything it touches. ~ Hannah Arendt
Time Goes On quotes by Hannah Arendt
Formation may be the best name for what happens in a circle of trust, because the word refers, historically, to soul work done in community. But a quick disclaimer is in order, since formation sometimes means a process quite contrary to the one described in this book----a process in which the pressure of orthodox doctrine, sacred text, and institutional authority is applied to the misshapen soul in order to conform it to the shape dictated by some theology. This approach is rooted in the idea that we are born with souls deformed by sin, and our situation is hopeless until the authorities "form" us properly. But all of that is turned upside down by the principles of a circle of trust: I applaud the theologian who said that "the idea of humans being born alienated from the Creator would seem an abominable concept." Here formation flows from the belief that we are born with souls in perfect form. As time goes on, we subject to powers of deformation, from within as well as without, that twist us into shapes alien to the shape of the soul. But the soul never loses its original form and never stops calling us back to our birhtright integrity. ~ Parker J. Palmer
Time Goes On quotes by Parker J. Palmer
In a way that I haven't yet figured out how to fully articulate, I believe that children who get to see bald eagles, coyotes, deer, moose, grouse, and other similar sights each morning will have a certain kind of matrix or fabric or foundation of childhood, the nature and quality of which will be increasing rare and valuable as time goes on, and which will be cherished into adulthood, as well as becoming- and this is a leap of faith by me- a source of strength and knowledge to them somehow. That the daily witnessing of the natural wonders is a kind of education of logic and assurance that cannot be duplicated by any other means, or in other place: unique and significant, and, by God, still somehow relevant, even now, in the twenty-first century.

For as long as possible, I want my girls to keep believing that beauty, though not quite commonplace and never to pass unobserved or unappreciated, is nonetheless easily witnessed on any day, in any given moment, around any forthcoming bend. And that the wild world has a lovely order and pattern and logic, even in the shouting, disorderly chaos of breaking-apart May and reassembling May. That if there can be a logic an order even in May, then there can be in all seasons and all things. ~ Rick Bass
Time Goes On quotes by Rick Bass
We all fall in love with the idea of a person, and then as time goes on we either accommodate ourselves to the real person or we don't. ~ Liza Johnson
Time Goes On quotes by Liza Johnson
Records are just moments of achievement. They're like receipts for work done. Time goes on and people keep playing music. ~ Bill Laswell
Time Goes On quotes by Bill Laswell
As time goes on you are given responsibility and other things to deal with. You become a husband and a father and there's another shirt of stuff. ~ Mike Ness
Time Goes On quotes by Mike Ness
Sorting gets harder as time goes on
it requires a sort of ruthless decisiveness, while indecision results in endless dithering. Five moves, they say, equal a fire. But those who haven't moved may begin to need a fire. [p. 38] ~ Mary Catherine Bateson
Time Goes On quotes by Mary Catherine Bateson
But is there any reason to believe that a woman's spiritual fibre is less sturdy than a man's? Is it not possible for a woman to come to terms with herself if not with the world; to withdraw more and more, as time goes on, her own personality from her productions; to stop childish fears of death and eschew charming rebellions against facts? ~ Louise Bogan
Time Goes On quotes by Louise Bogan
Retirement is looking more likely as time goes on. I want to spend every second stuck to Jesse so I can slap down these brazen, desperate tarts. I'm mentally trampling again. ~ Jodi Ellen Malpas
Time Goes On quotes by Jodi Ellen Malpas
Twin primes: pairs of prime numbers that are close to each other, almost neighbors, but between them there is always an even number that prevents them from truly touching. If you have the patience to go on counting, you discover that these pairs gradually become rarer. You encounter increasingly isolated primes, lost in that silent, measured space made only of ciphers, and you develop a distressing presentiment that the pairs encountered up until that point were accidental, that solitude is the true destiny. Then, just when you're about to surrender, when you no longer have the desire to go on counting, you come across another pair of twins, clutching each other tightly. ~ Paolo Giordano
Time Goes On quotes by Paolo Giordano
I do not speak as I think, I do not think as I should, and so it all goes on in helpless darkness. ~ Franz Kafka
Time Goes On quotes by Franz Kafka
The beauty of the world is the mouth of a labyrinth. The unwary individual who on entering takes a few steps is soon unable to find the opening. Worn out, with nothing to eat or drink, in the dark, separated from his dear ones, and from everything he loves and is accustomed to, he walks on without knowing anything or hoping anything, incapable even of discovering whether he is really going forward or merly turning round on the same spot. But this affliction is as nothing compared with the danger threatening him. For if he does not lose courage, if he goes on walking, it is absolutely certain that he will finally arrive at the center of the labyrinth. And there God is waiting to eat him. Later he will go out again, but he will be changed, he will have become different, after being eaten and digested by God. Afterward he will stay near the entrance so that he can gently push all those who come near into the opening. ~ Simone Weil
Time Goes On quotes by Simone Weil
Way is, where way goes. As a wind that blows and the bird that soars, into the open blue, where it neither knows when do is due. ~ Anthony Liccione
Time Goes On quotes by Anthony Liccione
When someone goes on a long journey, those who stay behind wish them the energy of a wildfire. The power to take things that try to hinder you --- wind, thrashing enemies --- and use them to make you stronger. The power to burn so brightly that all who look will wonder how darkness ever existed in the same world as you." She puts a hand on my shoulder, but her resolve breaks, her eyes glassy. "Scorch this world, Winter queen. ~ Sara Raasch
Time Goes On quotes by Sara Raasch
There are certain pressures and things that change your life to a degree that, in the cost benefit analysis that constantly goes on, sometimes makes you think, 'Maybe I should just leave.' ~ David Schwimmer
Time Goes On quotes by David Schwimmer
Nowadays all over the world fighting goes on for freedom and independence but it is hard to find anyone to whom the mystery of the godlike freedom of children of the Heavenly Father has been revealed. ~ Sophrony Sakharov
Time Goes On quotes by Sophrony Sakharov
You can only watch injustice go on for so long until you're compelled to say something. To speak out against it. ~ Macklemore
Time Goes On quotes by Macklemore
The best time to leave a party is when the party's just beginning. There's no drink that kills except the drink that you didn't want to take, as the saying goes, and there's no hour that kills except the hour you stayed after you wanted to go home. ~ Diana Vreeland
Time Goes On quotes by Diana Vreeland
There's some sort of exchange that goes on between human beings that is one of the highest things we do. ~ Coleman Barks
Time Goes On quotes by Coleman Barks
For me, a few hours ago, this campaign came to an end. For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die. ~ Edward Kennedy
Time Goes On quotes by Edward Kennedy
I'm not going to get a hit every time in clutch situations, but over the course of the season I'll get a lot of clutch hits. I'm disappointed it's come to a time when they (Orioles fans) boo me. And then to turn around and have the nerve to cheer for you, that's the way baseball goes. ~ Albert Belle
Time Goes On quotes by Albert Belle
People never grasp the fact that they're going to have to go through the same thing again. They get to the sort of five-year stretch or the seven-year itch or whatever these tension points are that seem to be organic, built in, like the tide coming in and going out. It's like every time the tide goes out you quit
you move your house or something. ~ John Lennon
Time Goes On quotes by John Lennon
When you think of the woman's power, you forget the power of the woman's God. I shall go on. ~ Mary Slessor
Time Goes On quotes by Mary Slessor
Many years ago I sent an old, beloved jacket to a cleaner, the Sycamore Cleaners. It was a leather jacket covered in Guinness and blood and marmalade, one of those jobs ... and it came back with a little note pinned to it, and on the note it said, 'It distresses us to return work which is not perfect.' So that will do for me. That can go on my tombstone. ~ Peter O'Toole
Time Goes On quotes by Peter O'Toole
In England, I was quite struck to see how forward the girls are made
a child of 10 years old, will chat and keep you company, while her parents are busy or out etc.
with the ease of a woman of 26. But then, how does this education go on?
Not at all: it absolutely stops short. ~ Fanny Burney
Time Goes On quotes by Fanny Burney
I don't really like to go out that much. But when I do, I go to the movies, just hang out with friends. I go on Skype and iChat and just chill. ~ Jacob Latimore
Time Goes On quotes by Jacob Latimore
People have a range of capacities to deal with overwhelming experience. Some people, some kids particularly, are able to disappear into a fantasy world, to dissociate, to pretend like it isnt happening, and are able to go on with their lives. And sometimes it comes back to haunt them. ~ Bessel Van Der Kolk
Time Goes On quotes by Bessel Van Der Kolk
When a man talks with absolute sincerity and freedom he goes on a voyage of discovery. The whole company has shares in the enterprise. ~ John Jay Chapman
Time Goes On quotes by John Jay Chapman
The secret to thriving is the knowledge that we are never simply victims of our bodies. It's very reassuring to know that we all have within us the ability to heal from anything and go on to live joy-filled lives. ~ Christiane Northrup
Time Goes On quotes by Christiane Northrup
Obviously, where art has it over life is in the matter of editing. Life can be seen to suffer from a drastic lack of editing. It stops too quick, or else it goes on too long. Worse, its pacing is erratic. Some chapters are little more than a few sentences in length, while others stretch into volumes. Life, for all its raw talent, has little sense of structure. It creates amazing textures, but it can't be counted on for snappy beginnings or good endings either. Indeed, in many cases no ending is provided at all. ~ Larry McMurtry
