I don't think the label cares about an album ... People just want their number-one record. ~ Peter Tosh
Albums quotes by Peter Tosh
All my parents' music came from greatest hits albums. It was like the thought of getting even one bum track was too much for them to handle. ~ Carol Rifka Brunt
Albums quotes by Carol Rifka Brunt
I'm very bad with music. I don't know any new music. I've listened to the same 10 or 12 albums my whole life. ~ Bobby Moynihan
Albums quotes by Bobby Moynihan
Mix CDs are interesting. I'm known more for my artist albums and less for my mix CDs. ~ Kaskade
Albums quotes by Kaskade
All my album artwork is body painting. ~ Kimbra
Albums quotes by Kimbra
We had a huge audience, we sold truckloads of albums. If we do something that's cool, people will listen to it. If we don't, we would be selling people short. ~ Andy Taylor
Albums quotes by Andy Taylor
Country fans need to support country music by buying albums and concert tickets for traditional artists or the music will just fade away. And that would be really sad. ~ George Jones
Albums quotes by George Jones
As a kid, I was always listening to music. I would just go in to my room and put on an album, read the lyrics, and just spend hours and hours in there. Plus, my sister Laurie played piano (in fact she taught me my first few notes) so music was always around one way or another. ~ Andrew Hollander
Albums quotes by Andrew Hollander
Six months is the most you can ask of any fan in this day and age, with the Internet and all these new artists. I understand that my music is in a lot of mediums. Some people want me to make an R&B album. Some people want me to never sing again. I just don't want people to be able to draw comparisons between my old songs and my new ones. ~ Drake
Albums quotes by Drake
I've got a song on One Direction's album called 'Tell Me A Lie'. It's a really cute song - I love it. I loved that they liked it. They sound really great on it. I already have it - I'm so VIP with my copy on my computer! It does sound really good. ~ Kelly Clarkson
Albums quotes by Kelly Clarkson
I was wanting to do an album but I didn't know if I was really ready. Jerry Wexler was one of my closest friends and allies, like my godfather. He said, "Let's do an album." I couldn't sing worth a damn, but there were some good songs. ~ Donnie Fritts
Albums quotes by Donnie Fritts
I don't feel guilty about the music I love. If you feel guilty about something you dig, then you should stop feeling guilty about it. One of my favorite albums to this day is the 10th anniversary ensemble cast of 'Les Miserables,' the ultimate cast recording, and it is still something I love listening to top to bottom. ~ Corey Taylor
Albums quotes by Corey Taylor
I've spent, like, over a million dollars on that Superficial album, so you will not be getting new music from me unless you'd like to GoFundMe. ~ Heidi Montag
Albums quotes by Heidi Montag
Seeing Jennifer Holliday from 'Dreamgirls' perform on the Tony Awards telecast and later discovering Barbra Streisand by listening to her albums at the Carnegie Library in Pittsburgh really changed everything for me. ~ Billy Porter
Albums quotes by Billy Porter
I've had about 140 albums released, and I've done everything I wanted to do. ~ Hank Snow
Albums quotes by Hank Snow
Thumbing through photo albums I see pictures that show I once smiled and tell me that I existed, but if you took them away, I wonder if I would remember anything much at all. ~ Grace Bowman
Albums quotes by Grace Bowman
I never intended to write poems, nor to be a photographer, nor to be a film-maker. I just took many, many pictures and I would put them in an album, and then some years later I decided to show them and suddenly I was called a photographer. Same thing with my poetry. They're notes that I'd written in a book and it may be considered poetry. ~ Abbas Kiarostami
Albums quotes by Abbas Kiarostami
My whole world changed when Michael Jackson brought out the Bad album when I was about eight or nine. He took over my whole life and from then on I wanted to be Michael Jackson. I watched his videos for hours and learned how to dance like him. I would push back the chairs in the room and learn his dance moves. I even taught myself to moonwalk. ~ Shane Filan
Albums quotes by Shane Filan
I would almost consider myself a canonical child of Generation X ... because I think there is an ethic and aesthetic that goes along with that generation, it may have something to do with the fact that "Never Mind the Bollocks" was released when we were 16-years-old and that was really the album that crystalized a generation. ~ Mark Pesce
Albums quotes by Mark Pesce
Actually, I was having dinner with Michael [Stipe, of R.E.M.] when our second album went platinum, which up until that point was the highest success we'd ever had. And he turned to me during dinner and said, 'Welcome to the deep waters, kid.' I'll never forget that. ~ Billy Corgan
Albums quotes by Billy Corgan
People like Busta Rhymes would say, 'Clinton Sparks doesn't do mix tapes; he does albums. He just throws albums out on the street.' ~ Clinton Sparks
Albums quotes by Clinton Sparks
Every year, we couldn't believe it, and even when I look back on it now, to sell 14 million singles, 50 million albums and sell out arenas and stadiums, what Westlife achieved was crazy. It's like One Direction probably don't realise how big they are. They'll look back one day and think, 'Holy God, that was pretty amazing.' ~ Shane Filan
Albums quotes by Shane Filan
And one's wandering proved as sterile and pointless as the excitement produced by a close study of pornographic albums. ~ Bruno Schulz
Albums quotes by Bruno Schulz
The album for Fiddler really took off. I think it was a combination of John Williams and the score. It was a very classy big album. ~ Norman Jewison
Albums quotes by Norman Jewison
Now that I have a thousand albums in my car all the time, I listen to more music. I was too lazy; I always had the same five discs in there. I'd never think to change it. ~ Trent Reznor
Albums quotes by Trent Reznor
In my dressing room, you'll definitely find some Starbursts and Skittles. I have a lot of candles that remind me of home, and a humidifier for my voice. I also have some digital Kodak albums where I have pictures of my friends and family. ~ Trey Songz
Albums quotes by Trey Songz
It was Miles Davis who took me to New York, and Coltrane was in the band, as well as Paul Chambers, Philly Jo Jones. 'Trane took me aside, and, of course, we did Blue Trane, which was my first album-and that started everything. He had confidence that I didn't have; he saw something that I didn't see. ~ Curtis Fuller
Albums quotes by Curtis Fuller
My goal has always been to make classic records, classic albums. Sometimes the recording process and the era it was recorded in means the production leans in a particular way, but to me they are all part of the same process. ~ Steve Winwood
Albums quotes by Steve Winwood
Singing is my dream and, while it may have not been a commercial success, critically I was thrilled with the reception my first album got. ~ Minnie Driver
Albums quotes by Minnie Driver
I don't care what people do. I don't care how people remember my albums. I do them for my own reasons. ~ Fiona Apple
Albums quotes by Fiona Apple
I wanted to come back to the guitar after three albums and almost 10 years. I started to miss this instrument and I wanted to come back to the guitar. ~ Rokia Traore
Albums quotes by Rokia Traore
To me, there are 3 parts of the album process: writing, recording, and my favorite part: getting to sing the songs with the fans every night. ~ Eric Hutchinson
Albums quotes by Eric Hutchinson
He thought of how convincingly he could describe this scene to friends and make them envy the fullness of his contentment. Why couldn't he convince himself? He had everything he'd ever wanted. He had wanted superiority
and for the last year he had been the undisputed leader of his profession. He had wanted fame
and he had five thick albums of clippings. He had wanted wealth
and he had enough to insure luxury for the rest of his life. He had everything anyone ever wanted. How many people struggled and suffered to achieve what he had achieved? How many dreamed and bled and died for this, without reaching it? ~ Ayn Rand
Albums quotes by Ayn Rand
A good album can make your day. A great album can change your life. ~ Hunter Hayes
Albums quotes by Hunter Hayes
It's such a biblical posture in worship that speaks of reverence. If you look through the Bible, there's a whole host of people who faced up to the glory of God and found themselves facedown in worship. So the album weaves through a theme of reverence, wonder, and mystery in worship, things I feel we really need to grasp more of in our worship expressions. I know that I do! ~ Matt Redman
Albums quotes by Matt Redman
Look, you see those groups talkin' about negativity and anger, and they'd do that for two albums, and then you'd see them change up. I knew they couldn't do a Kurt Cobain on their whole career. You can't stay like that all the time. It's like when Hammer tried to go gangster. You can't be something that you're not. ~ Prince
Albums quotes by Prince
I have pictures of my daughter, in the hospital, at three seconds, six seconds, nine seconds, and then fifteen seconds, 'cause dumbass couldn't get the camera ready fast enough. Yeah, ha ha ha. She wrote that in the photo album. ~ Christopher Titus
Albums quotes by Christopher Titus
Each thing leapfrogs. I do a Genesis project - like now, we're just finishing off an album - and then by the time the album is doing its thing, I could do nothing or I could do a film. ~ Phil Collins
Albums quotes by Phil Collins
My reaction to Radiohead isn't as simple as jealousy. Jealousy just burns; Radiohead infuriate me. But if it were only that, I wouldn't go back and listen to those records again and again. Listening to Radiohead makes me fell like I'm a Salieri to their Mozart. Yorke's lyrics make me want to give up. I could never in my wildest dreams find something as beautiful as they find for a single song - let alone album after album. ~ Dave Matthews
Albums quotes by Dave Matthews
Born of the impossibly varied options we have to amuse ourselves, cutting-edge companies are finding innovative ways to tailor our entertainment choices to who we are, relieving us of the burden of finding the diamond in the rough of 500 TV channels or thousands of movies and music albums released every year. ~ Marcus Buckingham
Albums quotes by Marcus Buckingham
I'll probably never put out another album because I'm a tough critic of my work, and I don't think I could come up to those standards any more. ~ Jo Stafford
Albums quotes by Jo Stafford
If you go to Japan, they're still buying vinyl, and they want the education. They know who's playing on what tracks from the '60s and the '70s - who the guitar player is, who the drummer is, who the producer was, what studio it was recorded in. That's how I grew up listening to music. We bought albums. We read the liner notes. It was important to know the whole history behind it. ~ Lenny Kravitz
Albums quotes by Lenny Kravitz
Yeah. It's all in the music first. The music is like women to me. It's like how you pick your music: everybody got their own different way how they pick their women and their music, and I guess that's what the album becomes. ~ Ghostface Killah
Albums quotes by Ghostface Killah
If I was on an island, just for melody, I would take albums by the Stones, AC/DC and the Beach Boys' Smiley Smile. ~ Steven Tyler
Albums quotes by Steven Tyler
Love is what makes you do everything. It really does conquer all. With my first album, I was writing about empowerment hoping that would make it true. And now it is. I'm in charge. I make the rules. I've been writing since I was nine years old and I'm very much involved in the creative process. And now that I'm in a happier place in my personal life, I'm spitting songs out left and right. ~ Jessie James Decker
Albums quotes by Jessie James Decker
My uncle Buddy MacMaster is one of the greatest fiddlers Cape Breton has ever produced, and we've produced a lot of them! His fellow fiddlers owe him a huge debt, for he has greatly influenced and inspired all of us. He makes you want to dance; he can bring tears to your eyes. Anyone who likes Cape Breton fiddle - no, anyone who likes fiddling - needs to own this album ~ Natalie MacMaster
Albums quotes by Natalie MacMaster
I'm dead serious about my craft and just really serious about making music in itself. I take pride in making songs and albums where no two songs sound alike. That's the challenge and that's what it's all about, to keep it original and fresh and funky. ~ Big Boi
Albums quotes by Big Boi
I maintain that the best song is the one that ends up on the album. So whether I've written it or I haven't, I'm very comfortable with both. ~ Kylie Minogue
Albums quotes by Kylie Minogue
If I would get an album out every eight months and if I would write songs that were more up-tempo and try to focus more on making singles, then I could probably get more attention. But I don't think the albums would be very fun to listen to, and it would be a drag for me. ~ Chris Isaak
Albums quotes by Chris Isaak
If they can go out and buy my albums, I can at least make the sacrifice to holler at the few people who call. A lot of times I'm busy so they'll get my voice mail. And if I can speak to them and I have time, I always text back. Because I think that's very important. ~ Flo Rida
Albums quotes by Flo Rida
When I was young, I used to need other people's albums and I got very involved with their music and it meant a lot to me. ~ Liz Phair
Albums quotes by Liz Phair
Rappers hate each other, not the labels that got rich,
Don't care about culture, they only want profit.
If your album sell slow, bet you'll get dropped quick;
Q-Tip warned us: the industry's toxic.
For reference, check out BDP's Sex and Violence. ~ Cormega
Albums quotes by Cormega
I'm growing as an individual, but your always growing. All of my albums are snapshots of where I am artistically. ~ Mos Def
Albums quotes by Mos Def
Into the Music was about the first album where I felt, 'I'm starting here' ... the Wavelength thing, I didn't really feel that was me. ~ Van Morrison
Albums quotes by Van Morrison
I just really want to make albums - and however I can, I will. ~ Paloma Faith
Albums quotes by Paloma Faith
I don't really think of these as projects. I think of them as bands. I have tried to not just convene a group of musicians and make one record or make one gig and just drop it. Each of them develop over time. I have been really fortunate to keep a band like the Sextet together over three very different albums. Each time, the goal got more deep for me in terms of how I wanted to write for those people. So it is really about trying to develop ideas and trying to have a consistent focus on a way to come up with new ideas in music that I want to do. ~ Dave Douglas
Albums quotes by Dave Douglas
When I'm writing my album, it's totally my world. Even though it's myself and another producer creating the project, Conceptually it's more under my power and on my own terms. At the same time, it's a different type of pressure because I'm ultimately speaking, I'm solely responsible for the end result. ~ Ashanti
Albums quotes by Ashanti
My first song was Hula Hoop Song, in 1955. It was a novelty song. I had to find someway to reach out and it was with a novelty song. Now, all of my recording obligations have been taken care of. I made 14 albums for Warner Brothers. Five for United Artist before that. ~ Gordon Lightfoot
Albums quotes by Gordon Lightfoot
It would be really nice to be able to put out releases that wouldn't be conditional upon an album format, and just put out music in different ways. ~ Colin Greenwood
Albums quotes by Colin Greenwood
Someone told me once that Lucinda Williams takes six years between albums, and that's what stuck to me; it's like, you really are a factory. You don't do things to make them, on your own time. ~ Beth Ditto
Albums quotes by Beth Ditto
When I get ready to do an album, that means I have something to say for the sake of words, and I listen back to all of the things I've been creating and pull things from out of the air to go with them. It's almost like I start creating the album before I even think about creating it. ~ Erykah Badu
Albums quotes by Erykah Badu
It won't happen anytime soon, don't worry," Berkeley says, amused. "We still have two albums left on our contract, and like I said before, the band's a big business - it supports a lot of people - we're not going anywhere."

"Well, that's a relief. You scared me. I was about to ask if you wouldn't mind autographing my bra so I'd have something to remember you by."

He takes his time responding, his eyes slowly looking me up and down. "But you're not wearing a bra," he finally points out. ~ Katie Delahanty
Albums quotes by Katie Delahanty
I feel like my best work is in front of me. I'm in the studio now, and I'm having an amazing time making this new album. It's something I can't help. ~ Lenny Kravitz
Albums quotes by Lenny Kravitz
No one can get really drunk on a novel or a painting, but who can help getting drunk on Reethoven's Ninth, Rartok's Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion, or the Reatles' White Album? ~ Milan Kundera
Albums quotes by Milan Kundera
I definitely have plans to do more collaboration albums in the future. I'm a big fan of Common. I'm a big fan of Scarface; I'm a big fan of so many people, from Jeezy to ... well, there are a lot of people's music that I respect. I don't know who I will collaborate with, but there's a great chance of something happening. ~ Nas
Albums quotes by Nas
Back in the day you wanted your albums to have a theme, and 'Sports' theme was really a collection of singles. It was really a record for its time. ~ Huey Lewis
Albums quotes by Huey Lewis
I've appeared on some other people's albums. ~ Gerry Mulligan
Albums quotes by Gerry Mulligan
When I record an album I'm trying to get as close as possible to that perfect moment. ~ Lou Reed
Albums quotes by Lou Reed
Every leading lady I work with, I'll see if I can get a song out of them and put it on an album. ~ Idris Elba
Albums quotes by Idris Elba
I threw away the whole of my working history, my photograph albums, diaries and stage clothes. Shoving big, ugly discs on walls is a bit like rubbing people's faces in it, saying 'I am considerably richer than you.' It is completely unnecessary. ~ Alison Moyet
Albums quotes by Alison Moyet
Over all Avenged Sevenfold the album is 10 times better than the others. ~ The Rev
Albums quotes by The Rev
I've made over 25 studio albums, and I think probably I've made two real stinkers in my time, and some not-bad albums, and some really good albums. I'm proud of what I've done. In fact it's been a good ride. ~ David Bowie
Albums quotes by David Bowie
'Rock n' Roll Animal,' the live album, is one of the greatest live albums out there. It was a huge influence on me. ~ Al Jourgensen
Albums quotes by Al Jourgensen
I think in the future I will end up doing a gospel album. ~ Jonny Lang
Albums quotes by Jonny Lang
Pop was initially ignored as a moneymaker by the recording industry. In the seventies they were still relying on Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett for their big hits. You know, most of the budget for the record companies in those days went to the classical department - and those were big budget albums. ~ Tony Visconti
Albums quotes by Tony Visconti
Emotionally, it was the hardest 33 days of my life, but it was worth it because the result is that this album is 100 percent me. It's heartfelt, real, bold, honest, vulnerable, hopeful, strong, poetic, bluesy, gritty, pretty, and simple. ~ Christina Perri
Albums quotes by Christina Perri
The crowd response has always been great, we always have fun at the shows and we will definitely be back representing our album to give people entertainment with a stage show, most rap shows are boring. ~ B-Real
Albums quotes by B-Real
If this story was a stack of photographs - the old kind, rounded at the corners and kept in albums under the glass and lace doilies of center tables in parlors across the country - it would start with Vivek's father, Chika. The first print would be of him riding a bus to the village to visit his mother; it would show him dangling an arm out of the window, feeling the air push against his face and the breeze entering his smile. ~ Akwaeke Emezi
Albums quotes by Akwaeke Emezi
Bollywood is huge. Anything that's made in large quantity will evidently overshadow others. But that won't stop artistes from making albums. A person who has faith in his music will go ahead. ~ Kailash Kher
Albums quotes by Kailash Kher
A lot of people give in to those pressures and let others influence the process on their second albums because they want to achieve the success they had with their first again, but they don't know how to do it. ~ Vanessa Carlton
Albums quotes by Vanessa Carlton
We got a little waylaid along the way. The whole problem started about 10 years ago with management and legal battles, then still trying to make albums while I was doing all of that. ~ Pat Travers
Albums quotes by Pat Travers
If it's the beginning of something - like an album, I'm working on the lyrics and I take a walkman and headset. ~ Phil Collins
Albums quotes by Phil Collins
To this day, we get letters at Alternative Tentacles from young teenagers who hide their Dead Kennedys albums behind their mirror or in the mattress of their bed. Wouldn't it be better if the parents just discussed this with the kids instead of creating this culture of sneaking and dishonesty within the family? The moral of the story being, you don't hide reality from your kids because then they grow up to be smarter, more aware adults. ~ Jello Biafra
Albums quotes by Jello Biafra
I think it'd be great if Prince made an album of just romantic, slow ballads. ~ Moby
Albums quotes by Moby
I know that everybody listens to me, but only my true fans will go and buy my album. ~ Young Thug
Albums quotes by Young Thug
Do you realize that I have had five albums in the Top 30. Elvis and The Beatles have never done that. I had five singles in the Top 5, I mean, no one's ever done that. ~ Chubby Checker
Albums quotes by Chubby Checker
A lot of people don't listen to the albums. They just listen to the singles. ~ Joe Perry
Albums quotes by Joe Perry
I was also skeptical about what all the grunge bands would do on their second albums. There were a lot of great first albums, but what would they do once they were platinum acts instead of kids living in roach-infested garages? I mean, if they were so miserable, once they had money, they could all go see shrinks. ~ Paul Stanley
Albums quotes by Paul Stanley
I'm a singer, not a politician, and I think you don't want the two to get confused. It's not OK to be on CNN talking about people starving and then tell the interviewer that your new album is coming out in six months. ~ Bono
Albums quotes by Bono
Expanding further on his own observations of Prince's writing style(s) during the course of the album's recording, fellow Paisley Park engineer Eddie Miller, who engineered the recording of 'Electric Chair' among other Prince recordings during the Batman era, recalled that "he would write all sorts of ways. I have to admit that I listened to some of his cassette demos that he would sometimes bring into the studio to reference (as I remember, he would hold the cassette player up to his ear, so you couldn't really hear it.). They were fascinating. His cassette demo technique was extremely crude but ingenious - it's like something you'd do if you had no access to any equipment. He'd use two cheap cassette recorders. If he wanted to hear drums, he'd record a human beat box rhythm for the length of the song - and most likely, he'd have the form of the song in his head while he was recording this. By the way, it was the same in the studio when he'd do his one man band approach to recording a song. He'd know the song in his head, and start out recording the drums for the song (it would essentially become the 'click track' - the way a click track should be). Back to the cassette demo - he'd then play his beat box groove over the speaker on the cassette recorder and sing the bass line while recording all this onto the second cassette machine. He'd build up a rhythm track this way, and then add vocals. And there's your demo. ~ Jake Brown
Albums quotes by Jake Brown
Jimmy Page is an excellent producer. Led Zeppelin I and II are classics. As a player he's very good in the studio, but I've never seen him play well live. He's sloppy. He plays like he's got a broken hand and he's two years old. If you put out a good album and play like a two year old, what's the purpose? ~ Eddie Van Halen
Albums quotes by Eddie Van Halen
I'm a child of the 70's; influenced mostly by albums that had a wide variety of style. ~ Kip Winger
Albums quotes by Kip Winger
I've always been able to do sprinkles of hip-hop here and there in all my albums, but I'm not sure how my fans are gonna feel about coming out first with something that's so hip-hop. ~ Toni Braxton
Albums quotes by Toni Braxton
I want to make a pop album - something more upbeat than my stuff was in the '90s. ~ George Michael
Albums quotes by George Michael
Yoko Ono is someone who's music I've discovered more recently. The current cd rereleases of her albums all had bonus tracks recorded just with a tape recorder and I'm really into these at the moment because they have a great intimate feel. ~ Marcel Dzama
Albums quotes by Marcel Dzama
I don't think the record company is aware of it. Because they just bury my albums and don't release them. ~ Les Baxter
Albums quotes by Les Baxter
Look. I was a superhero in the '90s. I said so at the time. McCartney, Weller, Townshend, Richards, my first album's better than all their first albums. Even they'd admit that. ~ Noel Gallagher
Albums quotes by Noel Gallagher
Niggas' rap albums sound like love letters,
Pen in my hand, like: damn, fam, I could do much better. ~ Sean Price
Albums quotes by Sean Price
I think the best post-breakup album is The Strokes' first album. It's just fun. ~ Patrick Carney
Albums quotes by Patrick Carney
I never download anything; it's crazy! We must keep buying albums and DVDs. ~ Caterina Murino
