Prescott quotes by John Prescott
Because of the security reasons for one thing and, second, my wife doesn't like to have her hair blown about. Have you got another silly question? ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
My grandfather asked whether the country had "come to the point in our life as a nation where the Governor of a great state - one who perhaps aspires to the nomination for President of the United States - can desert a good wife, [the] mother of his grown children, divorce her, then persuade a young mother of four youngsters to abandon her husband and their four children and marry the Governor." Clearly Prescott Bush was not afraid to express his beliefs. I can only imagine what he would say if he saw what our society looks like today. ~ George W. Bush

Prescott quotes by Kathryn Prescott
Those who are unacquainted with the details of scientific investigation have no idea of the amount of labour expended in the determination of those numbers on which important calculations or inferences depend. They have no idea of the patience shown by a Berzelius in determining atomic weights; by a Regnault in determining coefficients of expansion; or by a Joule in determining the mechanical equivalent of heat. ~ John Tyndall
Prescott quotes by John Tyndall
In the north east, there, they have had quite a bit of government offices moving in. It's not a new policy. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott

Prescott quotes by Dan Jenkins
What do you see in a guy like Christian Prescott? he asked me that night when he dropped me off from prom. And what he was really saying then, what would have come through loud and clear if I hadn't been so blind was, why don't you see me? ~ Cynthia Hand
Prescott quotes by Cynthia Hand
The name of Peru was not known to the natives. ~ William Prescott
Prescott quotes by William Prescott
The history of literature is the history of the human mind. It is, as compared with other histories, the intellectual as distinguished from the material, the informing spirit as compared with the outward and visible. ~ William H. Prescott
Prescott quotes by William H. Prescott
That's who he was - not who he is now - and it sounds like you need to decide if you can deal with what he used to do. ~ Georgia Cates
Prescott quotes by Georgia Cates
Let's hope the institution of marriage survives its detractors, for without it there would be no more adultery and without adultery two thirds of our novelists would stand in line for unemployment checks. ~ Peter S. Prescott
Prescott quotes by Peter S. Prescott
No man is quite so much a hero in the dark as in broad daylight, in solitude as in society, in the gloom of the churchyard as in the blaze of the drawing-room. The season and the place may be such as to oppress the stoutest heart with a mysterious awe, which, if not fear, is near akin to it. ~ William H. Prescott
Prescott quotes by William H. Prescott
From 1997 when we came in, you guys and the public bought seven million more cars. You didn't get rid of the second car, did you? So what is happening is the growth of cars on the motorway. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
This man offered her forever.
And if Prescott had asked a month ago ... If he'd asked the day before she'd encountered Jonathan Redmond at midnight outside the Duke of Greyfolk's house ...
Ah, but she was a different woman now. One kiss had changed that.
And a ballroom orgasm. ~ Julie Anne Long
Prescott quotes by Julie Anne Long
New town. New house. New car. New job.
New life.
That's what Ben had asked me to do. To start a new life for my four-year-old daughter, Rowen, and a new life for me.
And as much as I would have liked to explain that a major life change was completely unnecessary, it was tough to argue with a dead man.
So here we were in Prescott, Montana. Starting a new life. ~ Devney Perry
Prescott quotes by Devney Perry
true love ain't the passenger train that pulls up at the station so that you can board when it's time. It's the freight train that ploughs into you when you least expect it. That's how it was for me at any rate. There's just no getting over something like that, and if you find someone who makes you feel that way, you hold onto her forever. ~ R.J. Prescott
Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
Improving the quality of life for people of this country is perhaps the most important duty of Government ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott

Prescott quotes by G. Norman Lippert
This is not the letter you've long sought. This is not about the book. This is not the confession that would prove the crimes you've assigned to me. Nor is it a plea for my innocence. I am innocent of what I've been accused of, but not of everything. ~ Lara Prescott
Prescott quotes by Lara Prescott
Then don't marry me to change your name. Marry me because there will never be another man in this world who loves you as much as I do. You're my best friend, my missing piece, and the only person who can make my world amazing just by being in it. Marry me because I promise you a lifetime of love and laughter and happiness. ~ R.J. Prescott
Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
I don't get a fair whack, I don't pursue vendettas or punch people on the nose. ~ John Prescott

Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
He's probably used to women throwing themselves at him or curling around his massive frame like a sloth in its favorite tree.
I'm closer to a sloth than I am a stripper. Give me a cozy pair of fuzzy pajamas or a onesie instead of a thong and deathtrap platform heels any night of the week. If I had to choose a vice, it would be sloth. Not lust.
Unless the lusting is after cake.
Or Ryan Reynolds.
Or Ryan Reynolds with cake. ~ Daisy Prescott

Prescott quotes by James Prescott Joule

Prescott quotes by John Prescott
Pyrenean hemorrhagic fever or PHF," Riese told them, her voice registering fear. "Some are calling it the new Spanish flu, others the red death because of the way the infected's blood oozes from every orifice. Except, unlike the Spanish flu, this one's spreading much, much faster." Anders ~ James D. Prescott
Prescott quotes by James D. Prescott
Someday, I said, when we're old and gray, I'm going to look at you lying in bed beside me, just like this, and I'm going to look into your eyes and know that it's only ever been you. And that is going to be the great joy of my life, Bree Prescott. ~ Mia Sheridan
Prescott quotes by Mia Sheridan
I need to stop thinking about peeing. I should focus on dry things.
Like California's drought, month old Christmas trees, British wit. And my vagina while listening to the world's most boring date mansplain to me about his fantasy football club. ~ Daisy Prescott
Prescott quotes by Daisy Prescott
Prescott National Forest is right on the edge of my home in Arizona. ~ Maynard James Keenan
Prescott quotes by Maynard James Keenan
Where there is no free agency, there can be no morality. Where there is no temptation, there can be little claim to virtue. Where the routine is rigorously proscribed by law, the law, and not the man, must have the credit of the conduct. ~ William H. Prescott
Prescott quotes by William H. Prescott
...he was my complete opposite in every way, but his soul was the other half of mine. he was the loud to my quiet, the confidence to my shyness, the rage to my pain. Separately, we were broken and alone. Together, we were blissfully happy and complete ~ R.J. Prescott
Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
She tried to ignore the fact that the dazzling, colourful world John had opened up for her had suddenly switched back to grey. ~ Eleanor Prescott
Prescott quotes by Eleanor Prescott
I'm not good, of course; I wouldn't give a fig to be good. So it's not vanity. It's on a far grander scale; a splendid selfishness, - authorized, too; and papa and mamma brought me up to worship beauty, -and there's the fifth commandment, you know. ~ Harriet Prescott Spofford
Prescott quotes by Harriet Prescott Spofford
If a woman is not fit to manage the internal matters of a house, she is fit for nothing, and should never be put in a house or over a house, any way. Good housekeeping lies at he root of all the real ease and satisfaction in existence. ~ Harriet Elizabeth Prescott Spofford
Prescott quotes by Harriet Elizabeth Prescott Spofford
You both make each other want to be better people, and that's a feckin' rare thing. Far too many couples drown each other in their own selfishness these days. ~ R.J. Prescott

brokenness. ~ James Prescott

All I could feel was this warm liquid running down my neck. You automatically think it's blood, it's all in split seconds, so I decided to say I didn't agree with him. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
It wasn't you're fault," I whisper. And then out of self-protection more than anything else, I bring the glory. I don't warn him or anything. I don't damp it down. I bring it. The room fills with light.
"This is what I am," I say, my hair ablaze around my head.
He squints at me. his jaw juts out a little in pure stubbornness. He stands his ground
"I know," he says.
I take a step towards him, close the space between us, put my glowing hand against his cheek. He starts to tremble. "This is what I am," I say again and my wings are out now.
His knees wobble, but he fights it. He puts his hand at my waist, turns me, pulls me closer, which surprises me.
"I can accept that," he whispers, and holds his breath, and leans in to kiss me
His lips brush mine for an instant, and an emotion like victory tears through him, but he pulls away and glances at the front door. Groans.
Christian is standing in the doorway.
"Wow," Tucker says, trying to grin. "You really know how to cramp a guy's style."
His legs give out. He falls to his knees.
My light blinks off. ~ Cynthia Hand
Prescott quotes by Cynthia Hand
What we are beginning to witness is a whole new set of rules for economics, based on rationing resources. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
You go down some street - no doubt it's there, and we have to do something about it, and our programmes are designed to do that - but if that's a picture of Newcastle, it's not the one I recognise and I bet none in the North East do either. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
I find it remarkable that virtually all of the large difference in labor supply between France and the United States is due to differences in tax systems. I expected institutional constraints on the operation of labor markets and the nature of the unemployment benefit system to be more important. I was surprised that the welfare gain from reducing the intratemporal tax wedge is so large. ~ Edward C. Prescott
Prescott quotes by Edward C. Prescott
One thing I've learned about art is that, it's not perfect. It doesn't have to be a flawless masterpiece. I'm not perfect, we're not perfect… but right here, right now… is perfect. It's a masterpiece. ~ Jac Prescott
Prescott quotes by Jac Prescott
You know friends don't hold hands," I whispered, knowing that there was no way that I was letting go first.
"Huh," he grunted. "Me and Kier hold hands all the time ~ R.J. Prescott
Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
These people living on the streets could have been friends you once knew. They are people who have somehow fallen through the gaps and found themselves, often through unimaginable circumstances, on the cusp of existence. In another reality, this could easily be me or you. ~ Kathryn Prescott
Prescott quotes by Kathryn Prescott
Good stuff likes to take up a fair bit of space in your head and you heart. So, this is just your body's way of getting rid of all that poison to make room for the good stuff. ~ R.J. Prescott
Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
The percent likelihood of a society becoming physically violent if it is physically affectionate towards its infants and tolerant of premarital sexual behavior is 2 percent. The probability of this relationship occurring by chance is 125,000 to one. I am not aware of any other developmental variable that has such a high degree of predictive validity. ~ James W. Prescott
Prescott quotes by James W. Prescott
Come, my young padawan ~ R.J. Prescott
Prescott quotes by R.J. Prescott
Historically the buffalo had more influence on man than all other Plains animals combined. It was life, food, raiment, and shelter to the Indians. The buffalo and the Plains Indians lived together, and together passed away. The year 1876 marks practically the end of both. ~ Walter Prescott Webb
Prescott quotes by Walter Prescott Webb
The great thing about 'Skins' is that it's not '90210.' We don't have to look stick-thin and ripped. Those shows send out the wrong messages by showing body-perfect people but not mentioning that they spend four hours a day in the gym to look that way. ~ Kathryn Prescott
Prescott quotes by Kathryn Prescott
I'm going to introduce you to a revolutionary thought - you can go slower and get there quicker. And that's to do with flow. As soon as you made it two lanes and brought in the 70 (mph) and 50 (mph), you got there quicker. It meant the flow of the traffic was better, there were less accidents, less deaths, I think that's an important factor. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
As for Prescott Burlington-Smyth - If you thought my parents burdened me with an unfortunate last name, you'd be surprised, because the only name Bryan managed to snag that fits my physical profile is Tanaka Cockburn. And while Tanaka is a beautiful name. . . Cockburn. ~ L.J. Shen
Prescott quotes by L.J. Shen

Convalescence is a sort of grown-up rebirth, enabling us to see life with a fresh eye. ~ Margaret Prescott Montague
Prescott quotes by Margaret Prescott Montague
The preaching of the gospel is not to persuade people to agree with me in my theological views. The preaching of the gospel so far as I am concerned, is to bring people into personal association with that person with whom I have fellowship. ~ William Warren Prescott
Prescott quotes by William Warren Prescott
Lillian looked around the room.

Prescott quotes by Cynthia Hand

Prescott quotes by John Prescott

Prescott quotes by William H. Prescott
I've always felt very proud of Wales and being Welsh. People are a bit surprised when I say I'm Welsh. I was born in Wales, went to school in Wales and my mother was Welsh. I'm Welsh. It's my place of birth, my country. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
It would be very interesting to speculate on what the human imagination is going to do with a frontierless world where it must seek its inspiration in uniformity rather than variety, in sameness rather than contrast, in safety rather than peril, in probing the harmless nuances of the known rather than the thundering uncertainties of unknown seas or continents. The dreamers, the poets, and the philosophers are after all but instruments which make vocal and articulate the hopes and aspirations and the fears of a people.

The people are going to miss the frontier more than words can express. For four centuries they heard its call, listened to its promises, and bet their lives and fortunes on its outcome.

It calls no more... ~ Walter Prescott Webb
Prescott quotes by Walter Prescott Webb
She's not forgiven me, but we have a wonderful life from our family and that's the nature and quality of that woman that she can say that. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott

Prescott quotes by Walter Prescott Webb
I will have failed in this if in five years there are not many more people using public transport and far fewer journeys by car. It is a tall order but I want you to hold me to it. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott

I was at college studying psychology, philosophy, textiles and drama. But because I wasn't one of those all-singing, all-dancing stage-school kids, I just assumed I'd never become an actor. ~ Kathryn Prescott
Prescott quotes by Kathryn Prescott
A full moon is poison to some; they shut it out at every crevice, and do not suffer a ray to cross them; it has a chemical or magical effect; it sickens them. But I am never more free and royal than when the subtile celerity of its magic combinations, whatever they are, is at work. ~ Harriet Prescott Spofford
Prescott quotes by Harriet Prescott Spofford
In 2017, I was invited to lead a mindfulness workshop and guide a live meditation on Mingus Mountain, Arizona, to over 100 men and women at a recovery retreat. On the eve of my workshop, I had the opportunity to join in a men's twelve-step meeting, which took place by the campfire in Prescott National Park Forest, with at least 40 men recovering from childhood grief and trauma. The meeting grounded us in what was a large retreat with many unfamiliar faces. I was the only mixed-race Brit, surrounded by mostly white middle-class American men (baby boomers and Generation X), yet our common bond of validating each other's wounds in recovery utterly transcended any differences of nationality, race and heritage. We shared our pain and hope in a non-shaming environment, listening and allowing every man to have his say without interruption. At the end of the meeting we stood up in a large circle and recited the serenity prayer:

"God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know that one is me".

After the meeting closed, I felt that I belonged and I was enthusiastic about the retreat, even though I was thousands of miles away from England. ~ Christopher Dines
Prescott quotes by Christopher Dines
I'm not sure if it's better to be alone but it's probably safer. ~ Eleanor Prescott
Prescott quotes by Eleanor Prescott
There was only one punch. Tony Blair rang me and he said 'Are you OK?' and I said 'Yes', and he said 'Well, what happened?' and I said 'I was just carrying out your orders. You told us to connect with the electorate, so I did. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
It's what inside that counts, she reasoned defiantly. Love conquers all: even mismatched outfits and saggy jumpers. ~ Eleanor Prescott
Prescott quotes by Eleanor Prescott

Prescott quotes by Orville Prescott
If you look at Newcastle or Gateshead, even over twenty years, even with the previous administration, it has moved quite remarkably in transforming itself. ~ John Prescott
Prescott quotes by John Prescott
Down in the south, it's how we find the brownfield sites without taking too much land take to meet the tremendous demand for housing, and that's what I've done. ~ John Prescott
