Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason. ~ Novalis
Healing Poetry quotes by Novalis
Healing comes in waves
and maybe today
the wave hits the rocks
and that's ok,
that's ok, darling
you are still healing
you are still healing. ~ Ijeoma Umebinyuo
Healing Poetry quotes by Ijeoma Umebinyuo
You touched my flawed life so gently with love
burning upward in dark steady flame
burning me, burning me into healing. ~ Christy Brown
Healing Poetry quotes by Christy Brown
I am not a mechanism, an assembly of various sections.
and it is not because the mechanism is working wrongly, that I am ill.
I am ill because of wounds to the soul, to the deep emotional self,
and the wounds to the soul take a long, long time, only time can help
and patience, and a certain difficult repentance
long difficult repentance, realization of life's mistake, and the freeing oneself
from the endless repetition of the mistake
which mankind at large has chosen to sanctify. ~ D.H. Lawrence
Healing Poetry quotes by D.H. Lawrence
You will sad your way out of life.
You will cry.
You will scream.

And when the sadness is over.
You will try.
You will dream. ~ Juansen Dizon
Healing Poetry quotes by Juansen Dizon
You can only master something by loving it. ~ Lera Auerbach
Healing Poetry quotes by Lera Auerbach
I believed even then that if I could transform my experience into poetry I would give it the value and dignity it did not begin to possess on its own. I thought too that if I could write about it I could come to understand it; I believed that if I could understand my life - or at least the part my work played in it - I could embrace it with some degree of joy, an element conspicuously missing from my life. ~ Philip Levine
Healing Poetry quotes by Philip Levine
Tear your heart out of your chest. And hand it to God. There is no other healing. I swear, there is no other healing. ~ Yasmin Mogahed
Healing Poetry quotes by Yasmin Mogahed
MY FATHER
If I have to write a poem about my father
it has to be about integrity
and kindness -
the selfless kind of kindness
that is so very rare
I am sure there will be many people
living somewhere who must be as kind as him
but what I mean to say is
I have not met one yet

and when it comes to helping others
he always helps too much
and as the saying goes -
help someone, you earn a friend.
help someone too much,
you make an enemy. -
so you know the gist of what
I'm trying to say here

anyways I was talking about the
poem about my father
it has to be about
passion
and hard work
because you see
you cannot separate these
things from him
they are part of him as his two eyes and
two hands and his heart and his soul
and his whole being
and you cannot separate
wind and waves
or living and the universe
or earth and heavens
and although he never got any
award from bureaucracy
the students he taught ages ago
still touch his feet and some
of them are the people
you have to make
an appointment to meet even if
it is for two minutes of their time
and that's a reward for him
bigger than any other that
some of his colleagues got
for their flattery

and also I have to write about
reliability as well
because you see < ~ Neena H Brar
Healing Poetry quotes by Neena H Brar
Oh! That was poetry!" said Pippin. "Do you really mean to start before the break of day? ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Healing Poetry quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
By means of poetry all this suffering and effort could be transformed into dream; no matter how much of the ephemeral existed, poetry could immortalize it by turning it into song. Only two or three primitive passions had governed me until this time: fear, the struggle to conquer fear, and the yearning for freedom. But now two new passions were kindled inside me: beauty and the thirst for learning. ~ Nikos Kazantzakis
Healing Poetry quotes by Nikos Kazantzakis
Hands.
Cheeks.
Eyes.
Lips.
Neck.
Ears.
Thighs.
Heart.
Soul.

Ahh!
the things I get to
savor you with. ~ Sanober Khan
Healing Poetry quotes by Sanober Khan
I've known great happiness in my life along with great darkness, and a question that has repeatedly entered my poetry has been, how do we use the direct experience of happiness that may be given us, whether of love and sexuality or creativity or the sense of connectedness with other beings, human and otherwise? ~ Adrienne Rich
Healing Poetry quotes by Adrienne Rich
Do all things come to an end?
No, they go on forever. ~ Ruth Stone
Healing Poetry quotes by Ruth Stone
That stone Buddha deserves all the
birdshit it gets
I wave my skinny arms like a tall
flower in the wind ~ Ikkyu
Healing Poetry quotes by Ikkyu
...you hold a poem
that functions half as personal
note and half as telescope
to the heights
awaiting us all. ~ Kristen Henderson
Healing Poetry quotes by Kristen Henderson
We longed for healing and happiness - as if happiness is a state of being. But it's not. Happiness is a vector. It's movement. ~ Neal Shusterman
Healing Poetry quotes by Neal Shusterman
LIFE
IS THE ART
OF FAILING
MAGNIFICENTLY. ~ Atticus Poetry
Healing Poetry quotes by Atticus Poetry
Poetry is what makes the invisible appear. ~ Nathalie Sarraute
Healing Poetry quotes by Nathalie Sarraute
i want to be
in love with you

the same way
i am in
love with the moon

with the light
shining
out of its soul. ~ Sanober Khan
Healing Poetry quotes by Sanober Khan
The Christian gospel is rooted in langauge: God spoke a creation into being; our Savrior was the Word made flesh. The poet is the person who uses words not primarily to convey information but to make a relationship, shape beauty, form truth…

Isn't it odd that pastors, who are responsible for interpreting the Scriptures, so much of which come in the form of poetry, have so little interest in poetry? … Words create. God's word creates; our words can participate in creation." ~ Eugene H. Peterson
Healing Poetry quotes by Eugene H. Peterson
Great poets are all philosophers too profound to systematize their ideas. Inside every dark visionary is a being of insidious reason waiting patiently for his host to die. From the cleft of the creative arises the categorical flower. ~ Alex Stein
Healing Poetry quotes by Alex Stein
The sky can never be frozen
because its vastness has chosen
all warmth of our lives as we look above
with unbreakable hearts armoured in love ~ Munia Khan
Healing Poetry quotes by Munia Khan
Poetry is news brought to the mountains by a unicorn and an echo. ~ Czeslaw Milosz
Healing Poetry quotes by Czeslaw Milosz
The believers sing the holy songs of fear, Virgin silence has long bled to tears, Fear no more child the mother says, You shall be safe again in another grave… ~ Piyush Rohankar
Healing Poetry quotes by Piyush Rohankar
There's a community of the spirit.
Join it, and feel the delight
of walking in the noisy street
and being the noise.
Drink all your passion,
and be a disgrace.
Close both eyes
to see with the other eye.

From Essential Rumi
by Coleman Barks ~ Mesnevi
Healing Poetry quotes by Mesnevi
Both money and art powdered as they are with the romance and poetry of the age are magic. Rather money is magic art is magik. Money is stagecraft slight of hand a bag of clever tricks. Art is a plexus of forces and influences that act upon the senses by means of practical yet permanently inexplicable secret links. Admittedly the line between the two can be as thin as a dime. ~ Tom Robbins
Healing Poetry quotes by Tom Robbins
The characters in my novels are my own unrealised possibilities. That is why I am equally fond of them all and equally horrified by them. Each one has crossed a border that I myself have circumvented. ~ Milan Kundera
Healing Poetry quotes by Milan Kundera
The only way to get change is not through the courts or - heaven forbid - the politicians, but through a change of human consciousness and through a change of heart. Only through the arts - music, poetry, dance, painting, writing - can we really reach each other, ~ Leslie Marmon Silko
Healing Poetry quotes by Leslie Marmon Silko
I started seeing poetry from a strictly consumerist perspective as poets serving up beverages. Most, maybe like 97 percent or something, serve lemonade. You can consume their work and it will teach you nothing, and it will leave a sticky unpleasant feeling in your mouth and a slight nausea in your stomach. There are all kinds of home-made lemonades, milky lemonade, watery lemonade, some throw pepper in it or even puke in the lemonade, but its still lemonade, just a puky sort.

Then there are a few that offer stronger drinks. Some say the secret is the cellar, but I think that's just a propaganda story. If you leave a bottle of lemonade in the cellar for 10 years it won't turn into wine. But some of these fools are doing exactly that. Stinky old lemonade full of dust. And then there's those that think the problem is the Lemonade isn't smooth enough and they start filtering it with a sieve, imagining to be gold-diggers or something. No no no, the secret isn't cellars. The secret is rather a sincere hate for lemonade. As long as you don't hate lemonade with every pore in your body, as long as a part of you accepts the lemonade, then forget about the cellars. But if your soul says 'Fuck the Lemonade' then it starts to search.

You will find that a small percentage of poetry offered is like a strong beverage. Most then, again, are like cheap beer or wine. To find a wine that's actually good or even a decent whiskey you have to sift to tuns of poems, and then yo ~ Martijn Benders
Healing Poetry quotes by Martijn Benders
Perspective shifted on why it must 'hurt to heal', and a series of questions kept coming to mind. I found myself wondering if these medicines always 'hurt', or do they hurt so much now to show us how separate we are from nature? Perhaps these 'revelations in pain' are necessary in order for a personal apocalpyse to occur so you may have a shift in perception, and a greater understanding of your role in the whole? To realize that we are not foreign from nature, nature is where we come from and where we return to. ~ Jennifer Sodini
Healing Poetry quotes by Jennifer Sodini
He loves me, he loves me not. How many flowers must I kill before he loves me?" ~He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not ~ Kimberly Kinrade
Healing Poetry quotes by Kimberly Kinrade
Only intimacy with the self will bring about true healing. ~ Deepak Chopra
Healing Poetry quotes by Deepak Chopra
Many people forget that magick is all about change, and the greatest change is the inner, not the outer, landscape. Outer magickal changes - such as immediately getting a new job, lover, or physical healing - seem more impressive at first, but the inner changes last longer. They are the most impressive. Anyone can learn to do some basic spells and have good results, but the practitioners who develop a solid spiritual and magickal practice become more centered, calm, healthy, and truly confident over time are the magicians who impress me. ~ Christopher Penczak
Healing Poetry quotes by Christopher Penczak
Love is a strange creature that no man can understand ~ Lisa C. Miller
Healing Poetry quotes by Lisa C. Miller
A successful poem says what a poet wants to say, and more, with particular finality. The remarks he makes about his poems are incidental when the poem is good, or embarrassing or absurd when it is bad and he is not permitted to say how the good poem is good, and may never know how the bad poem is bad. It is better to write about other people's poetry. ~ Randall Jarrell
Healing Poetry quotes by Randall Jarrell
Poetry is mother-tongue of the human race; as gardening is older than agriculture; painting than writing; song than declamation; parables, - than deductions; barter, - than trade. ~ Johann Georg Hamann
Healing Poetry quotes by Johann Georg Hamann
Poetry [is] more necessary than ever as a fire to light our tongues. ~ Naomi Shihab Nye
Healing Poetry quotes by Naomi Shihab Nye
Perhaps you expected to feel great as soon as you escaped your abuser, and maybe you did feel a great sense of relief for a while. However, as time has passed, you may be dismayed by the extent of your emotional pain. ~ Caroline Abbott
Healing Poetry quotes by Caroline Abbott
Read it to me."
"Seriously?" he said quietly. "You want me to read you poetry? Like saving your life ten times wasn't enough? ~ Brynn Kelly
Healing Poetry quotes by Brynn Kelly
You're human. You can't be a "motivational speaker" every damn day of your life. It's okay to have dark days. Allow yourself to go there, then come back up with a gusto, like you always do. You're an angel, but you're also human. Don't beat yourself up for being authentic. ~ Melody Lee
Healing Poetry quotes by Melody Lee
The power of a woman is in the tears she sheds, and the power of a man is wiping those tears while shedding his own. ~ Michael Jones
Healing Poetry quotes by Michael Jones
We are never too old or too wounded to receive healing waves of the personal delight of another.

... at its best, it transcends being delighted with a particular happening and is instead the reflection to us, and often to one another, of an enduring bond that is bigger than any single occurrence between us.

When we are small and see that look on our parents faces, there is such an affirmation that we are good, lovable, welcome.

These experiences go deep into us and become an implicit foundation for drawing in warm companions throughout our lives. ~ Bonnie Badenoch
Healing Poetry quotes by Bonnie Badenoch
A good sentence in prose should be like a good line in poetry, unchangeable, as rhythmic, as sonorous. ~ Gustave Flaubert
Healing Poetry quotes by Gustave Flaubert
Rhythm must have meaning. ~ Ezra Pound
Healing Poetry quotes by Ezra Pound
Anything is a poem if you say it often enough. ~ Catherynne M Valente
Healing Poetry quotes by Catherynne M Valente
Voices and movements approach loss and remembrance profoundly, making poetry of the mundane and seasoning it with wit. ~ Deborah Jowitt
Healing Poetry quotes by Deborah Jowitt
But, darling, I need you to know, you loving me will not heal me. Please realize, I already know that. And I do not expect it to. ~ R. YS Perez
Healing Poetry quotes by R. YS Perez
When it comes to your inner critic, my advice is to not take advice from someone who doesn't like you. That's like returning to the perpetrator for healing after you've been abused. ~ Patrick Califia
Healing Poetry quotes by Patrick Califia
But while admiring my neighbour, I don't think I shall ever try to follow in her steps, my talents not being of the energetic and organising variety, but rather that of that order which makes their owner almost lamentably prone to take up a volume of poetry and wander out to where the kingcups grow, and, sitting on a willow trunk beside a little stream, forget the very existence of everything but green pastures and still waters, and the glad blowing of the wind across the joyous fields. ~ Elizabeth Von Arnim
Healing Poetry quotes by Elizabeth Von Arnim
For Aliki Barnstone, poetry seems a natural medium. The vision and cadences of these poems suggest a sensibility for which poetry is as inevitable as breathing or eating. ~ Robert Pinsky
