When drum'n'bass happened, when the two-step/garage thing happened, there was a chart smash every week; it operated on the underground and the pinnacle of pop mainstream at the same time. ~ Kieran Hebden
Bass quotes by Kieran Hebden
It's bad enough when people I know fuck with my life, but when pretentious bass players interfere with my destiny, then I really get pissed. ~ Tiffanie DeBartolo
Bass quotes by Tiffanie DeBartolo
I've been making Bass Communion music longer than any kind of other music. I don't know if you picked up a copy of a vinyl release I put out a couple of years ago of something called Altamont ... ~ Steven Wilson
Bass quotes by Steven Wilson
Since 1998, the Administration has begun to upgrade counterintelligence and security at U.S. weapons labs. ~ Charles Bass

According to Shelby, the longer you know someone, the longer they have to let you down. But sometimes, the longer you know someone, the more time they have to surprise you. ~ Alexis Bass
Bass quotes by Alexis Bass
Peacock bass like to hide at ambush points, away from the strong canal currents. If you fish early and know those peacock hangouts, you will have little or no trouble catching peacocks on lures and live bait. ~ Mark Hall
Bass quotes by Mark Hall
I've managed to keep him for three months, but in no way does that mean I get to keep him forever. That's the whole idea, isn't it? That is what the theories prepare us for. This is why, when he's finally gone for good it won't hurt as much. ~ Alexis Bass
Bass quotes by Alexis Bass
I played a bass player and a singer in a movie once, but I totally lip-synced to everything. ~ Jessica Pare
Bass quotes by Jessica Pare
I ain't got no blood claim on you, and the Lord in Heaven knows I want you to have a good life with your own people. But" - her huge bass voice broke up into little squeaky pieces - "but it's killing me to see you go. ~ Katherine Paterson
Bass quotes by Katherine Paterson
I was always the sexy bass player in the background while Robin stood centre. Barry and I played it up a bit, gave 'em a bit of thigh. ~ Maurice Gibb
Bass quotes by Maurice Gibb
You can't beat 2 guitars, bass, and drums. ~ Lou Reed
Bass quotes by Lou Reed
I think a double bass for me would be too much effort. But the cello, you're really engaged and the sound is kind of right here. So, it feels like being merged, married to an instrument. ~ Tod Machover
Bass quotes by Tod Machover
You can look at my life and say there've been some real tragedies, and there have been. But there've also been some exquisitely beautiful times. To me, those far outweigh the others. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
When you're the first, you don't get to be the last, too. Not usually. ~ Alexis Bass
Bass quotes by Alexis Bass
There are those among us who are more dog people than others - and a dog person without a dog is missing something. I ~ Rick Bass
Bass quotes by Rick Bass
Unlike in our society, where we hide it, death surrounded medieval people. They had few hospitals, and so churches, poorhouses, and homes handled the dying and dead. Death was not a distant prospect at the end of a long, healthy life. It was integrated into ordinary experience. Medieval life was transitory, a journey through this world that often ended too soon and too abruptly. Death was often violent and unexpected. Extended death, through illness and in one's own bed, was actually a blessing. Death was part of everyday life; medieval people considered their deaths regularly. Indeed, as one medieval historian puts it, "One of the chief obsessions of medieval Christians was the need to make a 'good death.'"38 ~ Diana Butler Bass
Bass quotes by Diana Butler Bass
And within the computer's innards, a spreading cancer. A self-replicating corruption. A B-pop mutiny of bass and drum and oscillating frequency. Inane quasi poetry glorifying a pointless act of intimacy. ~ Jay Kristoff
Bass quotes by Jay Kristoff
A lot of other bass players have told me I'm the only bass player who plays with a pick but sounds like he's playing with the thumb and fingers, which is a great compliment. ~ Glenn Hughes
Bass quotes by Glenn Hughes
The stillness of the calm is awful. His voice begins to grow strange and portentous. He feels it in him like something swallowed too big for the esophagus. It keeps up a sort of involuntary interior humming in him, like a live beetle. His cranium is a dome full of reverberations. The hollows of his very bones are as whispering galleries. He is afraid to speak loud, lest he be stunned; like the man in the bass drum. ~ Herman Melville
Bass quotes by Herman Melville
You can't beat two guitars, bass, and drums. ~ Lou Reed
Bass quotes by Lou Reed
What am I? The modest narrator who accompanies your triumphs; the dancer who supports you when you rise in your lovely grace; the branch upon which you rest a moment when you are tired of flying; the bass that interposes itself below the soprano's fervour to let it climb even higher - what am I? I am the earthly gravity that keeps you on the ground. What am I, then? Body, mass, earth, dust and ashes. - You, my Cordelia, you are soul and spirit."

- Johannes the Seducer, from_Either/Or_ ~ Søren Kierkegaard
Bass quotes by Søren Kierkegaard
There are people who think the film 'This Is Spinal Tap' is simply a very funny 'mockumentary.' Well, with Yes, we lived it. Take the hilarious scene in the film in which the bass player is trapped in a giant pod - that actually happened to Alan one night. ~ Rick Wakeman
Bass quotes by Rick Wakeman
They Lied"

They lied, my friend. They injected
their despair beneath your skin
like a parasitic insect laying eggs
in the body of another species.

Nothing they said is true,
everything about you is honorable. Every pore
that opens and closes - a multitude
along the expanse of your body, the
follicles from which hair sprouts
emerging again and again like spiders' floss
spun from a limitless source.

You wait, huddled. Or carry yourself from
place to place like a burden. As if
you would stash yourself, if you could,
in a bus station locker, or somewhere smaller.
You don't really hope, but
you can't give it up completely.

Some stubborn nugget
is lodged like a bullet in bone.
Though each breath stings with the cold
suck of it, you can know the truth.
Every cell of your body vibrates with its own intelligence.
Every atom is pure. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
Eating The Bones
by Ellen Bass
The women in my family
strip the succulent
flesh from broiled chicken,
scrape the drumstick clean;
bite off the cartilage chew the gristle,
crush the porous swellings
at the ends of each slender baton.
With strong molars
they split the tibia, sucking out
the dense marrow.
They use up love, they swallow
every dark grain,
so at the end there's nothing left,
a scant pile of splinters
on the empty white plate. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
We dance. Sweet, downcast, through-the-lashes-glances bely every beating she got at thirteen, every lash of the tongue from her dad at fourteen, every heroin high that let her out for awhile, every hour and day she had to be tough.

She is so natural and soft. Her shoulders are down, hips loose and swinging as we close together. I swear I'm growing chest hair just looking at her. I've been a boy in public before, but I've never seen her like this. That's it exactly; I haven't seen her at all, except in glimpses, in half-confessional role-play sex. And here she is - pressed tight against my chest, hips grinding against my crotch to the bass bump of the music. Her thigh along mine is electric heaven. Two drag queens cannot decide whether we are breeders or in drag. I stroke my mascara-made mustache at them - but none of it matters with hands in suede and the way she smiles. ~ Various
Bass quotes by Various
Have you ever thought that radical ideas threaten institutions, then become institutions, and in turn reject radical ideas which threaten institutions? ~ Saul Bass
Bass quotes by Saul Bass
That was the thing about Joy Division: writing the songs was dead easy because the group was really balanced; we had a great guitarist, a great drummer, a great bass player, a great singer. ~ Peter Hook
Bass quotes by Peter Hook
I definitely didn't want to be that person that came out and was like, 'O.K. I'm going to lead every parade.' ~ Lance Bass
Bass quotes by Lance Bass
I'm very religious. ~ Lance Bass
Bass quotes by Lance Bass
I'm writing new songs for a Broadway version of Tarzan, which is very interesting. I think what I learned from the Brother Bear score side of things, I've brought into the new Tarzan songs. Thinking outside just guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. ~ Phil Collins
Bass quotes by Phil Collins
I am fortunate enough with my career that I can speak out to the masses and hopefully be a part of initiating change. ~ Lance Bass
Bass quotes by Lance Bass
I want a big dark room you can barely move in, with bodies grinding close together. I want to hear a thousand songs played incredibly loud. I want to dance so fast that my hair grows long enough to trample on. I want my voice to be thunderous above the throb of bass. I want to get so hot that I have to crunch ice in my mouth. ~ Jenny Downham
Bass quotes by Jenny Downham
Why is it that the choice among churches always seems to be the choice between intelligence on ice and ignorance on fire? ~ Diana Butler Bass
Bass quotes by Diana Butler Bass
You don't have to have magic unicorn powers. You work at it, and you get better. It's like anything: You sit there and do it every day, and eventually you get good at it. ~ Kathleen Hanna
Bass quotes by Kathleen Hanna
I often think that presentations are more difficult than the work itself. ~ Saul Bass
Bass quotes by Saul Bass
You are the weirdest couple, I said over the bass. It was buzzing in my chest, and I was fairly certain every beat made my bones shake. ~ Jamie McGuire
Bass quotes by Jamie McGuire
The penny dropped. I sat in my room and burst into tears. Our band had barely begun, and already our drummer and bass player were a couple of drug fiends! ~ Tom Fletcher
Bass quotes by Tom Fletcher
Kat: You can't just buy me a guitar every time you mess up, you know.
Pat: I know, but there's still drums, and a bass, and maybe even someday a tambourine. ~ David Levithan
Bass quotes by David Levithan
One thing people always ask me is 'How do you play outside?' ... I have no idea how to teach that, but when I was discussing this with our bass player Jesse Murphy, he said 'tell them to go cliff diving' ... In other words, when you're jamming, you have to take risks if you want to find new sounds ... ~ John Scofield
Bass quotes by John Scofield
12.2 The Basis for the CBAM ~ Len Bass
Bass quotes by Len Bass
I was training to be a lawyer ... I was president of the law society at Glasgow University, and my bass guitarist was my secretary of my law society; the lead guitarist and writer worked at the law firm that I worked. ~ Gerard Butler
Bass quotes by Gerard Butler
Conversion is not a single prayer. Conversion is pilgrimage. ~ Diana Butler Bass
Bass quotes by Diana Butler Bass
I play a bunch of instruments, like piano, drums, guitar and bass. And the kazoo every now and then. I'm trying to learn how to play the trumpet and the saxophone. That's what I'm learning how to play. ~ Mac Miller
Bass quotes by Mac Miller
The truth about our childhood is stored up in our body, and although we can repress it, we can never alter it. Our intellect can be deceived, our feelings manipulated, our perceptions confused, and our body tricked with medication. But someday the body will present its bill, for it is as incorruptible as a child who, still whole in spirit, will accept no compromises or excuses, and it will not stop tormenting us until we stop evading the truth. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
When I started to pick up the bass, it was purely by random chance. ~ Eberhard Weber
Bass quotes by Eberhard Weber
I've always said the bass just happens to be the crayon I picked out of the box. I'd still be drawing the same pictures ... should I have picked trumpet or accordion or guitar, whatever it may be. The sounds in my head are still the same. ~ Les Claypool
Bass quotes by Les Claypool
I think the most note-worthy part is that Stella [Mozgawa] had joined the band two weeks before we started recording, so that really influenced the way that the album was recorded. It was really important for Stella and Jen[ny Lee Lindberg] to lay down the drums and bass first for most songs, because they were determining how they needed to lock in together, and Stella was still kind of learning and figuring out her parts. ~ Theresa Wayman
Bass quotes by Theresa Wayman
I'm waiting now, but I will be ready. We are mutual participants, you and I, intertwined. ~ Diana Butler Bass
Bass quotes by Diana Butler Bass
My God, is this a date?" Jeff had asked when I asked if I could bring her along.
"I don't know," I said. "She might still be happily lesbian. ~ Jefferson Bass
Bass quotes by Jefferson Bass
When The Murderdolls started it was a really cool thing, especially for me because I had never done anything on that scale before. Even for our drummer and bass player it was their first really big band. ~ Wednesday 13
Bass quotes by Wednesday 13
It is possible to heal. It is even possible to thrive. Thriving means more than just an alleviation of symptoms, more than Band-Aids, more than functioning adequately. Thriving means enjoying a feeling of wholeness, satisfaction in your life and work, genuine love and trust in your relationships, pleasure in your body. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
I tell you the groans of the damned in hell are the deep bass of the universal anthem of praise that shall ascend to the throne of my God for ever and ever. ~ Charles Spurgeon
Bass quotes by Charles Spurgeon
A novel that features real people is complicated, but in the end, that extra challenge is all for the good. ~ Rick Bass
Bass quotes by Rick Bass
My style is clubby and groovy - you can jump to it, but you don't just have to just jump to it. It's not just really bass-heavy and hurts your ears; you move with it, and it sounds kind of tribal. ~ Ansel Elgort
Bass quotes by Ansel Elgort
I don't really have a favorite bass player. I listen to a lot of bluegrass. But then again, I'm not a typical bluegrass bass player. I was really into the Grateful Dead, and I still am - I don't listen to them too much, but for me they are a big influence. ~ Mike Gordon
Bass quotes by Mike Gordon
I played guitar and bass. I didn't do much vocals, although I did have one band where I was the lead singer. But that was when I was in college. ~ Oscar Isaac
Bass quotes by Oscar Isaac
I'm a hopeless romantic. ~ Lance Bass
Bass quotes by Lance Bass
I have the worst memory in the world. I can remember some of my dreams, but later that day, i'll forget them. ~ Lance Bass
Bass quotes by Lance Bass
The U.S. military has done a phenomenal job of creating these facilities almost over-night and dealing with these sworn enemies of America with more respect and dignity than they ever would have considered according our officers had they captured any. ~ Charles Bass
Bass quotes by Charles Bass
When the longhorns could be gathered up and driven, it was theorized that the heat from the herd's mass attracted lightning. (Such was the radiant heat from a large herd that a cowboy's face would be blistered on whichever side of the herd he'd ridden by the day's end.) Their great horns also seemed to attract electricity, so that lightning and ground-electricity would bounce around from horn to horn throughout the herd - a phantasmagoric burning blue circuitry. The cracking of the cowboy's whips and the twitching of the cattle's tails also emitted sparkling snakes of fire. ~ Rick Bass
Bass quotes by Rick Bass
Kim Bass, Receptionist, was nowhere to be seen. This was fortunate, as I was so irritated with the way she'd treated me, I might have bitten her on the arm. I'd been a biter as a kid and I can still remember the feel of flesh between my teeth. It's like biting a rubber bathing cap, in case you're curious. ~ Sue Grafton
Bass quotes by Sue Grafton
How remote we were too from the crazy musicians who arrived on a blustery fall day with the idea that, since this was a financial center, there would be a rain of coins from the tall buildings in response to their trumpet, guitar, and bass fiddle. The wind swirled their jazz among the canyons. I saw that no one was paying them the slightest attention. Feeling guilty, I threw them a quarter, but they didn't see it. They danced and made jazz in the cold, while upstairs we went on with our work, and they didn't exist, and it was nobody's fault. ~ Alan Harrington
Bass quotes by Alan Harrington
I actually met Chick Corea in New York, where I was staying with a bass player friend. ~ Miroslav Vitous
Bass quotes by Miroslav Vitous
My dad taught me to play bass. He's a bass player; he still plays in a band in Michigan to this day. He taught me to play bass when I was about 6. I used to just go to band practice with him, and whoever didn't show up for rehearsal that day, I would take their spot. ~ Mayer Hawthorne
Bass quotes by Mayer Hawthorne
In general, we like to play as a band - guitar, piano, and voice. We also tour with a bass player, a drummer, and somebody who plays keyboard and guitar. We try to play all of our parts and flesh it out to get a lush sound, while also keeping the energy of a three-piece punk act. We want to be the best of all possible worlds. ~ Andrew Dost
Bass quotes by Andrew Dost
I'm a Southerner. We dream of having the family and the kids, and the parents want grandkids, that's all they care about, give me some grandbabies. ~ Lance Bass
Bass quotes by Lance Bass
Hellbenders. I collected with exuberance and totality, bringing home almost everything I could get my hands on, and releasing them into the assorted outdoor terrariums or aquariums in my back yard (the turtles I let run wild in the yard, like dogs or cats). ~ Rick Bass
Bass quotes by Rick Bass
Expanding further on his own observations of Prince's writing style(s) during the course of the album's recording, fellow Paisley Park engineer Eddie Miller, who engineered the recording of 'Electric Chair' among other Prince recordings during the Batman era, recalled that "he would write all sorts of ways. I have to admit that I listened to some of his cassette demos that he would sometimes bring into the studio to reference (as I remember, he would hold the cassette player up to his ear, so you couldn't really hear it.). They were fascinating. His cassette demo technique was extremely crude but ingenious - it's like something you'd do if you had no access to any equipment. He'd use two cheap cassette recorders. If he wanted to hear drums, he'd record a human beat box rhythm for the length of the song - and most likely, he'd have the form of the song in his head while he was recording this. By the way, it was the same in the studio when he'd do his one man band approach to recording a song. He'd know the song in his head, and start out recording the drums for the song (it would essentially become the 'click track' - the way a click track should be). Back to the cassette demo - he'd then play his beat box groove over the speaker on the cassette recorder and sing the bass line while recording all this onto the second cassette machine. He'd build up a rhythm track this way, and then add vocals. And there's your demo. ~ Jake Brown
Bass quotes by Jake Brown
Standing on the pavement was a big fat man whom Dixon recognized as his barber. Dixon felt a deep respect for this man because of his impressive exterior, his rumbling bass voice, and his unsurpassable stock of information about the Royal Family. At that moment two rather pretty girls stopped at a pillar-box a few yards away. The barber, his hands clasped behind his back, turned and stared at them. An unmistakable expression of furtive lust came over his face; then, like a courtly shyopwalker, he moved slowly towards the two girls. Welch now accelerated again and Dixon, a good deal shaken hurriedly switched his attention to the other side of the road, where a cricket match was being played and the bowler was just running up to bowl. The batsman, another big fat man, swiped at the ball, missed it, and was violently hit by it in the stomach. Dixon had time to see him double up and the wicket-keeper begin to run forward before a tall hedge hid the scene.
Uncertain whether this pair of vignettes was designed to illustrate the swiftness of divine retribution or its tendency to mistake its target, Dixon was quite sure that he felt in some way overwhelmed... ~ Kingsley Amis
Bass quotes by Kingsley Amis
Later in high school, I met Hillel Slovak, who was the original guitar player of the Chili Peppers, and we became really close. We had a band, and we didn't like the bass player, so I started playing bass, and I got a bass two weeks later. ~ Flea
Bass quotes by Flea
It's a hard time to be human. We know too much
and too little. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
Offering thanks and singing praises to God, compels the Lord to act in our behalf, to either calm the storm to a whisper, or to give us the strength to endure the storm. Whichever He chooses, He brings us out of our distress and into His peace." Meet Him on the Mountain pg. 138. ~ Sheldon K. Bass
Bass quotes by Sheldon K. Bass
In 1972, I got my first electric bass and started playing the kind of instrument I play now. I found that the majority of musicians couldn't bear that. They are not used to listening to the bass because they think the bass is in the background to support them. ~ Eberhard Weber
Bass quotes by Eberhard Weber
Poetry is the most intimate of all writing. I want to speak first from me to myself and then from me to you. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
I tour a lot and interview a lot. I'm on the Internet and doing stuff. I go out and promote. I've got a bass drum and a sandwich sign and a washboard. You just have to shout louder and louder that you're still alive. ~ Al Jarreau
Bass quotes by Al Jarreau
I'm surprised when I walk right into yet another abandoned hunters' camp. Tattered plastic sheeting still hangs askew here and there. Blackened aerosol cans of Cheez Whiz sit in the fire pit, which sits in the middle of the trail. Assorted Styro-ware. Rotten leather boots. Where are these people? Are they back in civilization now, appearing to all observers to be as normal as pie, but inwardly ticking like time bombs and spreading their hot poisonous seed through the world like black-breathed plague? ~ Rick Bass
Bass quotes by Rick Bass
Pedagogy, like language itself, can either liberate or imprison ideas, inspire of suffocate constructive thinking. ~ Hyman Bass
Bass quotes by Hyman Bass
I describe things in terms of body movements. I dance a bit to describe what sort of movement it ought to make, and that's a good way of talking to musicians. Particularly bass players. ~ Brian Eno
Bass quotes by Brian Eno
Bass players have bigger instruments." Charlie's slow grin curled her toes and he added, "We also do it deeper. ~ Rachel Harris
Bass quotes by Rachel Harris
People used to think of vocal music as boring choir stuff, once you figured out that you can do crazy beat-boxing, awesome bass lines (and) throw everything together, you just have really cool music. ~ Isaac Hecker
Bass quotes by Isaac Hecker
I love rainy and bad-weather days because this type of weather gives me a mental advantage, especially when I'm fishing in a tournament. When the weather is inclement, most fishermen start thinking of reasons why they can't catch bass. But, because I fish so often in bad weather, I'm thinking of all the reasons I can catch bass in bad weather conditions. ~ Gary A. Klein
Bass quotes by Gary A. Klein
Funny story: I was hanging out with Adam Shankman for Samantha Ronson's birthday, and Lance Bass was there. I don't really know Lance, but he comes over to me and goes, 'Hey, I just wanted to let you know I'm a fan of 'Pretty Little Liars' and I'm rooting for your character.' It was surreal! That's how 'PLL' has changed my life. ~ Ryan Guzman
Bass quotes by Ryan Guzman
Actually freestyle really comes from 'Planet Rock'. If you listen to all the freestyle records you'll hear that they are based on 'Planet Rock'. All the Miami Bass records are based upon Planet Rock. ~ Afrika Bambaataa
Bass quotes by Afrika Bambaataa
Yes, I love to play drums and bass and guitar and piano. Those are the main instruments I play. That is it. ~ Jeff Lynne
Bass quotes by Jeff Lynne
Journalism is my first love. But music comes in a close second. What's important for me is that whatever you do, whatever your passion is, you should have another passion - something in your life. And when I put on that musician hat and I put the bass in my hands, I'm not Lester Holt the TV guy anymore. I'm just Lester Holt who likes music. ~ Lester Holt
Bass quotes by Lester Holt
I love playing with Jeff. That's something I never really say in the press, but he's my favorite bass player. I've played right next to him for 10 years. ~ Mike McCready
Bass quotes by Mike McCready
There's a part of every living thing that wants to become itself: the tadpole into the frog, the chrysalis into the butterfly, a damaged human being into a whole one. That is spirituality. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
The problem is that once I start on a song and get a rough idea of where I might go with an arrangement, I try dozens, sometimes hundreds, of different things on a song. The bass, the backing guitars, the lead guitars, the keyboards. It's a long process. It's like 100 steps forward and 99 steps back. ~ Tom Scholz
Bass quotes by Tom Scholz
For four years, I listened to stories of intelligence failures, and it wasn't due to incompetence of anyone in the system, but that the system is so arcane. ~ Charles Bass
Bass quotes by Charles Bass
Playing someone drum 'n' bass for the first time in 'Pass Out' - they're like, 'Oh my God, what is this?' I'm having a lot of fun and a good time showcasing the music. ~ Tinie Tempah
Bass quotes by Tinie Tempah
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I was so pissed off at what happened, at myself, I didn't think."
He stroked a hand down her hair first, then gave the choppy ends a quick tug. "I'm not angry with you."
"I know. You could be, but you're not. So I have to be even sorrier."
"Your logic is fascinating, and elusive."
"I can't pay you back with sex or salt-crusted sea bass or whatever because you're too busy taking care of me. So now I've got this black mark in my column against the bright shiny star in yours, and - "
He tipped her head up. "Are we keeping score?"
"No. Maybe. Shit."
"How am I doing?"
"Undisputed champ."
"Good. I like to win." He brushed her bangs back to study the injury himself. "You'll do. Let's eat. ~ J.D. Robb
Bass quotes by J.D. Robb
Sometimes clients have a sophisticated view of their design problem, sometimes they do not. I often spend time with the client redefining the problem, going back to the beginning. Often the problem is just a symptom. Sometimes you have to move back in order to move forward to understand what the nature of the solution should be. ~ Saul Bass
Bass quotes by Saul Bass
Buying Gold Is Just Buying A Put Against The Idiocy Of The Political Cycle. It's That Simple! ~ Kyle Bass
Bass quotes by Kyle Bass
I spent five years, at least, working with Miles. Together, we recorded ESP, Nefertiti, Sorcerer
and I can tell you; each of these albums instantly became jazz classics. Hey, we had Wayne Shorter playing tenor sax, Ron [Carter] on bass, Tony Williams played drums. That was great band we had. ~ Herbie Hancock
Bass quotes by Herbie Hancock
Healing isn't just about pain. It's about learning to love yourself. As you move from feeling like a victim to being a proud survivor, you will have glimmers of hope, pride and satisfaction. Those are natural by-products of healing. ~ Ellen Bass
Bass quotes by Ellen Bass
I don't want to interview people. I want to have a conversation. I want to talk to Paul McCartney about the bass sound on 'The White Album.' ~ Nikki Sixx
Bass quotes by Nikki Sixx
Nobody's going to drag you up to get into the light where you belong. ~ Ace Of Bass
Bass quotes by Ace Of Bass
If you're wondering, is this book for me? Well, if you're the kind of reader who orders another round just to see if you can seal the deal with the depressed bass player because "Hey! I'm sad too! We have so much in common!" then the answer is yes. ~ Ophira Eisenberg
Bass quotes by Ophira Eisenberg
The house stank; a stench all its own pervaded every corner. It was a threnody in the key of Cat minor, with a ground-bass of Old Dog, and modulations of old people, waning lives, and relinquished hopes. ~ Robertson Davies
Bass quotes by Robertson Davies
Eliminating the piano means that I've always worked closer with the bass than most players. ~ Gerry Mulligan
