And within the computer's innards, a spreading cancer. A self-replicating corruption. A B-pop mutiny of bass and drum and oscillating frequency. Inane quasi poetry glorifying a pointless act of intimacy. ~ Jay Kristoff
Lollipop Song quotes by Jay Kristoff
Libertarianism is "cultish," say the sophisticates. Of course, there's nothing cultish at all about allegiance to the state, with its flags, its songs, its mass murders, its little children saluting and paying homage to pictures of their dear leaders on the wall, etc. ~ Thomas E. Woods Jr.
Lollipop Song quotes by Thomas E. Woods Jr.
If it's time to go, remember what you're leaving. Remember the best. ~ Steven Moffat
Lollipop Song quotes by Steven Moffat
I want to become the favorite song of my own uprising. I want to see the most forgotten, unused part of my soul the one which for years I kept closed out of spite, find the courage to go up to my mind and start writing liberation slogans across its highest fences. ~ Angelos Michalopoulos
Lollipop Song quotes by Angelos Michalopoulos
I hope people hear my songs and realize that writing music is kind of easy, or that taking your sadness and turning it into a beautiful song is worthwhile. ~ Frankie Cosmos
Lollipop Song quotes by Frankie Cosmos
You are my song, my dark blue dream
Of doves, of winter's drowsy drone,
And sleighs that slow and golden go
Through gray blue shadows on the snow. ~ Velimir Khlebnikov
Lollipop Song quotes by Velimir Khlebnikov
The Departure Aria, a very important and romantic song -
This damn door sticks,
This damn door sticks
It sticks no matter what I do.
It is marked 'pull' and indeed I am pulling
Perhaps it should be marked 'push'? ~ Terry Pratchett
Lollipop Song quotes by Terry Pratchett
Dogfish
I wanted
The past to go away, I wanted
To leave it, like another country; I wanted
My life to close, and open
Like a hinge, like a wing, like the part of the song
Where it falls
Down over the rocks: an explosion, a discovery;
I wanted
To hurry into the work of my life; I wanted to know,
Whoever I was, I was
Alive
For a little while.
... mostly, I want to be kind.
And nobody, of course, is kind,
Or mean,
For a simple reason.
And nobody gets out of it, having to
Swim through the fires to stay in
This world. ~ Mary Oliver
Lollipop Song quotes by Mary Oliver
By the time I was six or seven-years-old, I had learned several techniques of how to use my voice and was able to choose the sound I wanted to distinguish myself, so I started writing songs on the piano. ~ Wendy Starland
Lollipop Song quotes by Wendy Starland
People talk about Frank [Sinatra] all the time - and they should talk about Frank - but he had the greatest arrangers. They worked for him in a different kind of way than they worked for other people. They gave him arrangements that are just sublime on every level. And he, of course, could match that because he had this ability to get inside of the song in a sort of a conversational way. Frank sang to you, not at you, like so many pop singers today. Even singers of standards. ~ Bob Dylan
Lollipop Song quotes by Bob Dylan
I'm a very lucky man. I get to do the thing I want most in life, write songs and sing them for people, and ride bikes. I love my family. I love my home. I get to work with people I've admired my whole life. It's a pretty good life. ~ Lyle Lovett
Lollipop Song quotes by Lyle Lovett
I do all the things that singer-songwriters do. I introduce the songs, I have a story to tell about everything all the time - I cannot be on stage and have something on my mind without telling the audience. I'm super emotional and expressive and vulnerable in that moment. ~ India.Arie
Lollipop Song quotes by India.Arie
I can't relate to the process of just disappearing and writing a record, all at the same time, followed by the sort of drudgery of going out on tour and trying to recreate the record, playing the same 12 songs every night. ~ Andrew Bird
Lollipop Song quotes by Andrew Bird
I've been collaborating with Ira Schickman on some songs, and there will be many other, great musicians involved. ~ Chaka Khan
Lollipop Song quotes by Chaka Khan
Sweet Crescent Moon, up in the sky,
Won't you sing your song to Earth as she passes by?
Your sweetest silver melody, a rhythm and a ryme,
A lullaby of pleasant dreams as you make your climb.
Send the forests off to bed, the mountains tuck in tight,
Rock the ocean gently, and the deserts kiss goodnight.
Sweet Crescent Moon, up in the sky,
You sing your song so sweetly after sunshine passes by. ~ Marissa Meyer
Lollipop Song quotes by Marissa Meyer
I tend to overthink things. I'm not the guy who screams 'This is a world smash!' when I finish a song. ~ Bruno Mars
Lollipop Song quotes by Bruno Mars
And I'll know my song well before I start singing ~ Bob Dylan
Lollipop Song quotes by Bob Dylan
I doubt I'll be singing forever, because at some point people aren't going to want to hear my music, and I hope that I'll still get the opportunity to write songs. ~ Adele
Lollipop Song quotes by Adele
Now I'm a warrior
Now i've got thicker skin
I'm a warrior
I'm stronger than i've ever been
And my amor
Is made of steel you can't get in
i'm a warrior
And you can never hurt me again ~ Demi Lovato
Lollipop Song quotes by Demi Lovato
I wanna hear some Diana Ross, I wanna hear some Marvin Gaye. I wanna hear a song that reminds me of a better day. ~ Lou Reed
Lollipop Song quotes by Lou Reed
I've spent a lot of time in tiny venues in the way that I got my record deal and got my name out there just performing live. I was literally performing my songs in all kinds of different ways with different guitarists, and I didn't have an album up online or anything. It's been a lot of work; it definitely hasn't been a sudden explosion into fame. ~ Florence Welch
Lollipop Song quotes by Florence Welch
The great tapestries of trees had darkened to ghosts back at the last edge of twilight. The early moon had drenched the arches with pale blue, and, weaving over the night, in and out of the gossamer rifts of moon, swept a song, a song with more than a hint of sadness, infinitely transient, infinitely regretful. ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Lollipop Song quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
If we're bringing up kids that are so stupid that they kill themselves because of a song, what good are the kids in the first place ? ~ Marilyn Manson
Lollipop Song quotes by Marilyn Manson
The weary August days are long;
The locusts sing a plaintive song,
The cattle miss their master's call
When they see the sunset shadows fall. ~ Edmund Clarence Stedman
Lollipop Song quotes by Edmund Clarence Stedman
One Long Year was just a song here and there, and it was meant to reflect the mood that I was in but unfortunately it also reflected too little of any particular thing rather than hanging together as a whole album. ~ Todd Rundgren
Lollipop Song quotes by Todd Rundgren
Hold on little girl
Show me what he's done to you
Stand up little girl
A broken heart can't be that bad
When it's through, it's through
Fate will twist the both of you
So come on baby come on over
Let me be the one to show you ~ Mr. Big
Lollipop Song quotes by Mr. Big
What we like about women is sensuality, wildness, hormones. Women who make a song and dance about their intuition. ~ Yasmina Reza
Lollipop Song quotes by Yasmina Reza
This is a great opportunity for musicians to display their talent by re-interpreting some classic Kinks songs. Good luck, enjoy, be creative ... be outrageous! ~ Ray Davies
Lollipop Song quotes by Ray Davies
Anytime someone uses one of my songs for anything - a ceremony or a sacred moment - that, to me, is a high honor. I'm proud of the song at that point because I'm trying to write something for humans - whichever humans want to get on board and put this in their soundtrack to their soul's development or spiritual lives. ~ Jason Mraz
Lollipop Song quotes by Jason Mraz
The Pilgrim Queen
(A Song)

There sat a Lady
all on the ground,
Rays of the morning
circled her round,
Save thee, and hail to thee,
Gracious and Fair,
In the chill twilight
what wouldst thou there?

'Here I sit desolate,'
sweetly said she,
'Though I'm a queen,
and my name is Marie:
Robbers have rifled
my garden and store,
Foes they have stolen
my heir from my bower.

'They said they could keep Him
far better than I,
In a palace all His,
planted deep and raised high.
'Twas a palace of ice,
hard and cold as were they,
And when summer came,
it all melted away.

'Next would they barter Him,
Him the Supreme,
For the spice of the desert,
and gold of the stream;
And me they bid wander
in weeds and alone,
In this green merry land
which once was my own.'

I look'd on that Lady,
and out from her eyes
Came the deep glowing blue
of Italy's skies;
And she raised up her head
and she smiled, as a Queen
On the day of her crowning,
so bland and serene.

'A moment,' she said,
'and the dead shall revive;
The giants are failing,
the Saints are alive;
I am coming to rescue
my home and my reign,
And Peter and Philip
are close in my train. ~ John Henry Newman
Lollipop Song quotes by John Henry Newman

Lollipop Song quotes by Seth Grahame-Smith
The song 'Baby Baby,' I so love that song because I wrote it about my first daughter. ~ Amy Grant
Lollipop Song quotes by Amy Grant
Rabindranath Tagore writes that the song he wanted to sing has never happened because he spent his days "stringing and unstringing" his instrument. Whenever I read these lines a certain sadness enters my soul. I get so preoccupied with the details and pressure of my schedule, with the hurry and worry of life, that I miss the song of goodness which is waiting to be sung through me. ~ Joyce Rupp
Lollipop Song quotes by Joyce Rupp
There was a song in this forest, too, but it was a savage song, whispering of madness and tearing and rage. ~ Naomi Novik
Lollipop Song quotes by Naomi Novik
My creative process isn't a long one, so I could have started a song 10 years ago and then finish it 10 years later. It's all just about pushing around words and melodies, for me. The material is kind of shape-shifting. ~ Antony Hegarty
Lollipop Song quotes by Antony Hegarty
I wish I had [made that song]. No, I don't That would be to take it from somebody else. But it's mine for all that.'
'What makes it yours?'
'I love it so.'
'Does loving a thing make it yours?'
'I think so, Mother
at least more than anything else can ... Love makes the only myness,' said Diamond. ~ George MacDonald
Lollipop Song quotes by George MacDonald
I used to love going to shows and finding new bands, but the Internet takes the fun out of it. Like a band? You can buy and download every single song they have ever done within five minutes. ~ Timothy Simons
Lollipop Song quotes by Timothy Simons
Sometimes if a song hits me really good the first time, I get sick of it. And by the 10th time I've heard it, it's just candy, and I don't like it anymore. ~ Gary Allan
Lollipop Song quotes by Gary Allan

Lollipop Song quotes by Alicia Keys
Ashes have no fear to burn in hell
In your heart's paradise angels dwell
Rib cage fastens all sins of the wrong
Your bones will sing you mortality's song ~ Munia Khan
Lollipop Song quotes by Munia Khan
Being older, I began to understand the lyrics. At the beginning, it sounds like a guy is trying to get his girlfriend to secretly meet up with him at midnight. But it's an odd place for a tryst, a hanging tree, where a man was hung for murder. The murderer's lover must have had something to do with the killing, or maybe they were just going to punish her anyway, because his corpse called out for her to flee. That's weird obviously, the talking-corpse bit, but it's not until the third verse that "The Hanging Tree" begins to get unnerving. You realize the singer of the song is the dead murderer. He's still in the hanging tree. And even though he told his lover to flee, he keeps asking if she's coming to meet him. The phrase Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free is the most troubling because at first you think he's talking about when he told her to flee, presumably to safety. But then you wonder if he meant for her to run to him. To death. In the final stanza, it's clear that that's what he was waiting for. His lover, with her rope necklace, hanging dead next to him in the tree.

I used to think the murderer was the creepiest guy imaginable. Now, with a couple of trips to the Hunger Games under my belt, I decide not to judge him without knowing more details. Maybe his lover was already sentenced to death and he was trying to make it easier. To let her know he'd be waiting. Or maybe he thought the place he was leaving her was really worse than death. Didn't I wa ~ Suzanne Collins
Lollipop Song quotes by Suzanne Collins
I'm one of those people that I make a song ... then I write another song and then I'm like, 'But this song is so much better than this song,' and then I kind of ditch that song. It's a long process. ~ Fefe Dobson
Lollipop Song quotes by Fefe Dobson
The morning news hour ends with Evelyna Salsdottir, the champion poet of New Asgard, reciting her award-winning song "Sunfall in Mesa Verde." It's about vanishing people, and the memories they leave behind, like the longest shadows cast as the sun sets. ~ Tessa Gratton
Lollipop Song quotes by Tessa Gratton
Quadratic reciprocity is the song of love in the land of prime numbers. ~ Kato
Lollipop Song quotes by Kato
I shouldn't have acted. I didn't exhibit any ability. I was one of the kids in the school play who was just mouthing words, and they weren't the actual words of the song. I was pretty lame! ~ Bryce Dallas Howard
Lollipop Song quotes by Bryce Dallas Howard
The stars twinkled high above and reflected onto the cold window. I blew on the frosty glass and watched my breath fog up. I traced my initials across the cold glass, the condensation trickling down the pane. ~ Erica Sehyun Song
Lollipop Song quotes by Erica Sehyun Song
Whenever I heard the song of a bird and the answering call of its mate, I could visualize the notes in scale, all built up within my consciousness as a natural symphony. ~ William Christopher Handy

That song has the full extent of my mandolin abilities; I'm not a good mandolin player at all. ~ John Fogerty
Lollipop Song quotes by John Fogerty
Music always has to do with vibrations for me. I love to record everyone's heartbeats, in way. None of us beats at the same pace and a song is a magical moment where different entities, for a split second, meet up. ~ Lou Doillon
