The students often like to talk about movies that they feel are Orientalist like 300 or Babel. They talk a lot about the possibility of U.S. aggression against Iran and the Iranian hostages being held by the U.S. in Iraq. ~ Mohammad Marandi
U S Aggression quotes by Mohammad Marandi
We are at war. War is not on battlefield. It is in boardrooms of companies that control your United States of America. ~ Kenneth Eade
U S Aggression quotes by Kenneth Eade
It would be enough for me to have the system of a jury of twelve versus the system of one judge as a basis for preferring the U.S. to the Soviet Union. I would prefer the country you can leave to the country you cannot. ~ Joseph Brodsky
U S Aggression quotes by Joseph Brodsky
Even more fundamental than housing to the global financial economy is the idea that the U.S. government is a safe asset. ~ Ezra Klein
U S Aggression quotes by Ezra Klein
I'm not a politician. I think that uniquely qualifies me to become president of the U.S. ~ Roseanne Barr
U S Aggression quotes by Roseanne Barr
I used to joke that I came to England - not to the U.S. where most Koreans go - because I like Arthur Conan Doyle and Agatha Christie. ~ Ha-Joon Chang
U S Aggression quotes by Ha-Joon Chang
A shortage of airports runways and gates along outmoded air traffic control systems have made U.S. air travel the most congested in the world. ~ Ray LaHood
U S Aggression quotes by Ray LaHood
I'm much better known in France and Germany and Spain than I am in the U.S. When I go to Russia, I get mobbed; I have groups of fans waiting for me out in the hotel lobby, waiting for me to come down off the elevator. In China, I almost got beat up because people were trying to get me to do a drawing for them. ~ Bill Plympton
U S Aggression quotes by Bill Plympton
I think it is immensely difficult to get the U.S. interested in non-U.S. topics. I don't think this is because the average American reader is disinterested, but more because of publishers playing it safe: if a thriller based in L.A. is a sure winner, why spend money plugging one based in Paris - or Bangkok? ~ John Burdett
U S Aggression quotes by John Burdett
Lederhosen Maker Opens First U.S. Store in Cincinnati By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Wiesnkoenig (pronounced VEE-sehn-koh-neg), the official supplier of lederhosen for the Munich Oktoberfest, opened its first store in the United States on Wednesday, in a brewery in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. Oliver Pfund, a Wiesnkoenig consultant, said, "We want to show people here in the U.S. you can wear the lederhosen with Chuck Taylors, you don't have to wear the suspenders." Founded in 2007, Wiesnkoenig has five stores in Germany and sells in department stores there and in Switzerland and Austria. Mr. Pfund said a brewery was a perfect location. He said the company hoped visitors to the brewery would "have an interest in the German culture, as well. ~ Anonymous

You got any experience? (Carlos)
I'm former army intelligence, Special Forces, on contract to the U.S. government now for national security. That good enough for you, amigo? (Stoner)
It'll do. (Carlos) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
U S Aggression quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
The Iraq War is the largest strategic blunder in U.S. history ... On every level - moral, strategic, military and economic - Iraq was a failure. And it was you, Mr. Bush and Mr. Cheney, who started this war. It is you who should pay the consequences. ~ Tomas Young
U S Aggression quotes by Tomas Young
Any concentrated mass is actually a local distortion of space itself, there happens to be exactly one surface, registered with the U.S. Patent Office, which, incorporated into a suitable hat design, will take the impact load of any known safe falling from any current altitude, transmitting to the wearer only the most trivial of resultant vectors. ~ Thomas Pynchon
U S Aggression quotes by Thomas Pynchon
Now, unfortunately, some prissy card-carrying members of the U.S. Constitution have made us all look bad by pointing out that many of the Gitmo detainees weren't guilty of anything. Whoops! ~ Alex Gibney
U S Aggression quotes by Alex Gibney
The room held her scent, that elusive fragrance that sometimes reminded him of spring flowers and other times made him think of summer afternoons and ripe peaches. Gracie seemed to be part of all the seasons. The warm glints of autumn shone in her hair, the clear light of winter sun sparkled in those intelligent gray eyes. He had to keep reminding himself that she wasn't a U.S.D.A. prime-cut female because lately he'd had a tendency to forget. It was just . . .

She was so damned cute. ~ Susan Elizabeth Phillips
U S Aggression quotes by Susan Elizabeth Phillips
The U.S. has perverted the U.N. weapons process by using it as a tool to justify military actions, falsely so ... The U.S. was using the inspection process as a trigger for war. ~ Scott Ritter
U S Aggression quotes by Scott Ritter
With a weak and rotting core, you don't have much of a foreign policy. You're discounted at the negotiating table, economically and militarily. So when people ask what's the best course of action for the U.S.-China relationship, I can give you ten academic responses. But the reality is we need to rebuild our core. ~ Jon Huntsman, Jr.
U S Aggression quotes by Jon Huntsman, Jr.
On issues carrying as much emotional freight as race - and there aren't many - a U.S. senator needs to speak with care and consistency. Otherwise, he could find people speaking at his own retirement tribute. ~ Gordon Smith
U S Aggression quotes by Gordon Smith
How many McDonald's gift certificates would it take to sway a lot of Americans to pledge to never publicly criticize the U.S, President? ~ James Bovard
U S Aggression quotes by James Bovard
It was plain to me that we couldn't look to the kourts for freedom and justice anymore than we could expect to gain our liberation by participating in the u.s. political system, and it was pure fantasy to think we could gain them by begging. The only alternative left was to fight for them, and we are going to have to fight like any other people who have fought for liberation. ~ Assata Shakur
U S Aggression quotes by Assata Shakur
The intriguing history of American applied toponymy includes a few notoriously unpopular sweeping decisions a year after President Benjamin Harrison created the Board on Geographic Names in 1890. Harrison acted at the behest of several government agencies, including the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey, which was responsible for mapping the nation's coastline, harbors, and coastal waterways. Troubled by inconsistencies in spelling, board members voted to replace centre with center, drop the ugh from names ending in orough, and shorten the suffix burgh to burg. Overnight, Centreview (in Mississippi) became Centerview, Isleborough (in Maine) became Isleboro, and Pittsburgh (in Pennsylvania) lost its final h and a lot of civic pride. The city was chartered in 1816 as Pittsburg, but the Post Office Department added the extra letter sometime later. Although both spellings were used locally and the shorter version had been the official name, many Pittsburghers complained bitterly about the cost of reprinting stationery and repainting signs. Making the spelling consistent with Harrisburg, they argued, was hardly a good reason for truncating the Iron City's moniker--although Harrisburg was the state capital, it was a smaller and economically less important place. Local officials protested that the board had exceeded its authority. The twenty-year crusade to restore the final h bore fruit in 1911, when the board reversed itself--but only for Pittsburgh. Senator Mikulski has done an outstanding job representing Maryland in the U.S. Senate for nearly 30 years. ~ Martin O'Malley
U S Aggression quotes by Martin O'Malley
I'm crafting a vision of my life that involves creativity. And Cuban society allows me to do this. I know it's harder in the U.S. where so many people are just grateful to have a job. ~ Assata Shakur
U S Aggression quotes by Assata Shakur
Subjecting prisoners to abuse leads to bad intelligence because under torture a detainee will tell his interrogator anything to make the pain stop, ... Second, mistreatment of our prisoners endangers U.S. troops who might be captured by the enemy ... And third, prisoner abuses exact on us a terrible toll in the war of ideas because inevitably these abuses become public. ~ John McCain
U S Aggression quotes by John McCain
We've got the emPHAsis on the wrong sylLAble when it comes to crime in this country. The FBI says burglary and robbery cost U.S. taxpayers $3.8 billion annually. Securities fraud alone costs four times that. And securities fraud is nothing to the cost of oil spills, price-fixing, and dangerous or defective products. Fraud by health-care corporations alone costs us between $100 billion and $400 billion a year. No three-strikes-and-you're-out for these guys. Remember the S&L scandal? $500 billion. ~ Molly Ivins
U S Aggression quotes by Molly Ivins
[T]he Constitution conferred only a few specific powers on the federal government, all others being denied to it (as the Tenth Amendment would make plain). Unfortunately, only a tiny fraction of the U.S. population today - subtle logicians like you - can grasp such nuances. Too bad. The Constitution wasn't meant to be a brain-twister. ~ Joseph Sobran
U S Aggression quotes by Joseph Sobran
The U.S. team has swept all the medals in the skeet shooting event. So despite our bad economy, it's nice to know our country has never been safer from an attack of skeets. ~ Conan O'Brien
U S Aggression quotes by Conan O'Brien
So my attorneys brought litigation in the U.S. federal courts. The judge ruled in our favor. ~ Jeremy Rifkin
U S Aggression quotes by Jeremy Rifkin
Court played his role to the hilt now, cocking his head as if he were wondering if the person asking the question might possibly be mentally deranged. "The CIA? You think I bought my way free of the Agency? I fucking shot my way out, pal." He rolled his eyes. "Pay off the CIA? They don't need me to pay them off. They are part of the U.S. federal government, the guys that print U.S. dollars, or didn't you know?" Dai asked his next question in a flat, emotionless voice. "Did you arrive in a Dassault Falcon yesterday? ~ Mark Greaney
U S Aggression quotes by Mark Greaney
Enough of these little kitty cats we keep sending to Washington. David Dewhurst will compromise every day in the U.S. Senate ... It's what he's done every day in state government. ~ Ted Cruz
U S Aggression quotes by Ted Cruz
What I discerned in the U.S. was a convergence of poetic voices coming from many different rents in the social fabric, many cultures, many tributaries, which, together, make up the American poetry of the late twentieth century. ~ Adrienne Rich
U S Aggression quotes by Adrienne Rich
Knowing constitutional law helps one at the opera. The trial in 'Billy Budd,' as example, invokes the fugitive slave clause of the U.S. Constitution. ~ Karen DeCrow
U S Aggression quotes by Karen DeCrow
You cannot win a war if you cannot talk honestly about the enemy Since the 9/11 attacks, political correctness and ideological prejudice - under both Republican and Democratic presidents - have distorted our analysis of the enemy, preventing us from drawing an effective plan to defeat the likes of Al Qaeda and the Islamic State. The Obama administration, blinded by its own preconceived ideas of why terrorism occurs, is influenced by malevolent actors who have an interest in censoring any talk of the religious aspects of the enemy's ideology. At the highest level of the U.S. government, terrorism is deemed to be the result of poverty, unemployment, and lack of political enfranchisement. This fallacy must be jettisoned. We are not at war with Islam. The people most immanently in danger, in fact, are the nonviolent and non-extremist Muslims of the Middle East, such as our allies in Jordan and the modern Muslims of Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. They are on the most important front of this war, and they understand just how much religion truly matters. We do a great disservice to those brave Muslims when we try to convince the world that the threat will disappear if enough people have good jobs and sound educations. ~ Sebastian Gorka
U S Aggression quotes by Sebastian Gorka
I would say that the U.S. has overlooked Latin America. Their priorities have always been somewhere else. And that is a problem and that is a mistake. ~ Sebastian Pinera
U S Aggression quotes by Sebastian Pinera
The U.S. cannot be the policeman of the world. When we tried that in Vietnam, they beat us up. ~ Newt Gingrich
U S Aggression quotes by Newt Gingrich
Increased congestion was highlighted by the 2009 collision between a Russian government Cosmos satellite and a U.S. commercial Iridium satellite. The collision created approximately 1,500 new pieces of trackable space debris, adding to the more than 3,000 pieces of debris created by the 2007 Chinese ASAT test. ~ Anonymous
