Is that where you took care of him? In a restroom?"
"No. I walked him out to the runway and threw him in front of a Boeing. ~ Max Allan Collins
Runway quotes by Max Allan Collins
I love to hear a cool ambient sound at runway shows. It creates a good energy. ~ Theophilus London
Runway quotes by Theophilus London
No, the more familiar and widely dangerous issue is a kind of silent disengagement, the consequence of specialized technicians sticking narrowly to their domains. "That's not my problem" is possibly the worst thing people can think, whether they are starting an operation, taxiing an airplane full of passengers down a runway, or building a thousand-foot-tall skyscraper. ~ Atul Gawande
Runway quotes by Atul Gawande
My mom was a seamstress, and I wish I'd learned to sew because I'm obsessed with 'Project Runway!' ~ Carmen Electra
Runway quotes by Carmen Electra
There is no sin worse in life than being boring and nothing worse than letting other people tell you what to do. ~ Paris Hilton
Runway quotes by Paris Hilton
We live in a world where it has become politically correct to avoid
absolutes. Many want all religions to be given the same honor, and all gods
regarded as equally true and equally fictitious. But take these same
people, who want fuzzy, all-inclusive thinking in spiritual matters, and
put them on an airplane. You will find they insist on a very dogmatic,
intolerant pilot who will stay on the straight and narrow glidepath so
their life will not come to a violent end short of the runway. They want no
fuzzy thinking here! ~ Jack T. Chick
Runway quotes by Jack T. Chick
Things have to sell, of course, but if I don't want to put bags on the runway, we don't put bags on the runway. I have complete creative control. ~ Phoebe Philo
Runway quotes by Phoebe Philo
I'm more old school: I want to be like Keith Richards on stage. It's not interesting to see straight-from-runway clothes slapped on an artist. It's more interesting when you see people who have their own style. ~ Lykke Li
Runway quotes by Lykke Li
Like it or not, we are trendsetters. Just as every fashion model ever to strut the runway, we affect the minds of others by what we wear. With usch power it's vital to question ourselves: 'Am I an example of Christ-centeredness? Or have I just gotten comfortable in the "Christian routine" and forgotten why I've chosen to live this way? ~ Hannah Farver
Runway quotes by Hannah Farver
I didn't mean hang glide. I meant do things that give you an adrenaline rush?"

"I still get one every time I take off. When I'm barreling that plane down the runway at a hundred and eighty miles an hour and I pull back on the yoke to lift the nose and we break from the ground…it's like the first time, every time."

"So you're a thrill seeker."

Carter shrugged. "At times. Life without a little thrill is boring, beautiful. ~ Penelope Ward
Runway quotes by Penelope Ward
Boggs quickly examines my face, then scoops me up and jogs for the runway. Halfway there, I puke on his bulletproof vest. It's hard to tell because he's short of breath, but I think he sighs. ~ Suzanne Collins
Runway quotes by Suzanne Collins
I will be the first to say, when I started, I was the worst on the runway ever. I feel like I try to keep learning every time I step off a runway; I try to get better with each one. I hope that I'm getting better as I go - it takes a few seasons to get your Karlie Kloss walk on. ~ Gigi Hadid
Runway quotes by Gigi Hadid
I've sold shoes, hawked newspapers, jerked sodas, gazed rapturously at the tinsel dream at the end of a runway from my usher's aisle in a burley-cue, drove a truck - then because I didn't like being pushed around, started pushing a pencil around. ~ Burne Hogarth
Runway quotes by Burne Hogarth
I have to make a dress out of recycled materials for my kid's preschool 'Project Runway'-like assignment. I'm currently fusing plastic bags. ~ Busy Philipps
Runway quotes by Busy Philipps
Don't you think...doesn't it seem sometimes like life is like a plane?...And we're all piloos, you know, of our own planes. When things are going smoothly then we're, like, on autopilot, but sometimes things get a little, well, turbulent and then we have to land the plane on our own..."What about the air traffic control?"...Well, sure. Sometimes the guy is helpful, but maybe he's drunk?...Or maybe there's this big fog so you just put your hands on the controls and look for the runway lights and do your best. On your own. ~ Gayle Friesen
Runway quotes by Gayle Friesen
Life is a fashion show, the world is your runway. ~ Marc Jacobs
Runway quotes by Marc Jacobs
The mantle of glamour has been taken from the women and given to the men. The women toil in their shadows, plain and ordinary-looking. So that transition has left a void. It is a void for drop-dead, impossible, over-the-top glamour. Supermodels fill that void. The only thing they have to do is work the runway, sweetie, and refuse to get out of bed for less than ten thousand dollars. ~ RuPaul
Runway quotes by RuPaul
Baby smuggling is a serious crime,' he said. 'There were thirty-six babies on that plane. We could charge you with thirty-six counts of kidnapping.'
That, at least, got Second to look back at Mr. Reardon.
'Does FBI mean Federal Bureau of Idiots?' he asked. 'If any of you were any good at analyzing footprints, you would know that I fell when I was trying to sneak into the airport grounds, not out.'
'And why would you do that?' Mr. Reardon asked, hunching forward over a notepad.
'It was a dare, all right?' Second snarled. 'I was with my friends and we were talking about what it would be like to stand on a runway when a plane was landing and ... we decided to try it out.'
'That's a crime too,' Mr. Reardon said.
Second shrugged. 'It ain't thirty-six counts of kidnapping,' he said. ~ Margaret Peterson Haddix
Runway quotes by Margaret Peterson Haddix
I'm in the middle of my own 'Project Runway' challenge given to me by my daughter's preschool. All the parents have to make an outfit for their kids, for school pictures, made entirely out of recycled objects. I can not believe I have homework. ~ Busy Philipps
Runway quotes by Busy Philipps
London and the south-east of England are very crowded spaces. Wherever a new runway is placed, thousands will be affected. Residents in nearby Longford, Harmondsworth and Sipson, which lie to the north of Heathrow, face having their homes compulsorily purchased for land to build the new runway. ~ Tim Bowler
Runway quotes by Tim Bowler
I'm determined, and I'm passionate and driven about whatever I commit myself to do. If I don't know something, I'm going to ask, and I've got no problems in asking questions. I never have. People ask me, "Are you nervous when you go on the runway? You don't look it." Yes, I am. ~ Naomi Campbell
Runway quotes by Naomi Campbell
I can see where this is going, too. Of course, I can, because I am Alex as well. But I want to dress up in gorgeous clothes and strut up and down the runway like they do in the magazines, swishing my tail. I want to dress up with Amina and Julia and giggle and be girlfriends, arm in arm. I want to be beautiful. I want other people to think I am beautiful. ~ Alyssa Brugman
Runway quotes by Alyssa Brugman
There is so much more fashion coverage online, so women today are really seeing the collections. They're a lot savvier and more aware of the discrepancies between what they see on the runway and what they end up seeing in their local shops. ~ Lauren Santo Domingo
Runway quotes by Lauren Santo Domingo
I am short, so even if there are things that I like, or like on other people, I have to be aware that sometimes that won't work on me because I'm not 5'10. It has to have a shape for my body; otherwise, I look like I am two inches tall. I have to wear things that skim my body more closely than a runway model would. ~ Gillian Jacobs
Runway quotes by Gillian Jacobs
Starting your own business and thinking about how you can grow something and fulfill both expectations and needs of your retailers and still stay exciting for the runway, you sort of become this left brain-right brain person pretty quickly. ~ Joseph Altuzarra
Runway quotes by Joseph Altuzarra
Because I'm on the runway with some of the best models in the industry. ~ Heidi Klum
Runway quotes by Heidi Klum
I did learn a lot from 'Project Runway,' things I could incorporate into my own life. ~ Angela Lindvall
Runway quotes by Angela Lindvall
YouTube began as a failed video-dating site. Twitter was a failed music service. In each case, the founders continued to try new concepts when their big ideas failed. They often worked around the clock to try to overcome their failure before all their capital was spent. Speed to fail gives a startup more runway to pivot and ultimately succeed. ~ Jay Samit
Runway quotes by Jay Samit
I'm gonna sit here on this runway until I'm at the end of it. Because that's that thing that people slave over. That's that thing that people are slaves to. That's that thing that I'm a slave to. ~ Kanye West
Runway quotes by Kanye West
Nonetheless, writing regularly, inspiration or no, is not a bad way to eventually get into an inspired mood; the plane has to bump along the runway for a while before it finally takes off. ~ Alice W. Flaherty
Runway quotes by Alice W. Flaherty
When it comes to Project Runway, for me the most memorable look ever presented goes back to season one, episode one, when Austin Scarlett created a ravishing cocktail dress out of cornhusks. It was really amazing. ~ Tim Gunn
Runway quotes by Tim Gunn
Stuck in the plane on the runway. You can always count on US Air. ~ Billy Mays
Runway quotes by Billy Mays
I once saw a Betsey Johnson runway show that featured thongs and "ass cleavage," and I thought, This is the future. ~ Cintra Wilson
Runway quotes by Cintra Wilson
The work is at such a high level and is so well executed, it really is a matter of taste ... [Source: Project Runway - but consider, applied to the theme of book reviews, it seems apropos!] ~ Tim Gunn
Runway quotes by Tim Gunn
These are clothes my friends and I could wear. This ain't Prada. I don't want to be one of those celebrities that slaps their name on a label and collects royalty checks. Everything on that runway reflects me. ~ Nicky Hilton
Runway quotes by Nicky Hilton
I want to make clothes that people will wear, not styles that will make a big splash on the runway. ~ Oscar De La Renta
Runway quotes by Oscar De La Renta
I become aware that once again the only empty seat is beside me. I shake my head as the thought crosses my mind that Christian might have purchased the adjacent seat so that I couldn't talk to anyone. I dismiss the idea as ridiculous - no one could be that controlling, that jealous, surely. I close my eyes as the plane taxis toward the runway. ~ E.L. James
Runway quotes by E.L. James
Sometimes I feel like what's hard for fashion designers to do is take looks from off the runway and actually put it into existence, into reality. That's really the hard part. ~ ASAP Rocky
Runway quotes by ASAP Rocky
I'm starting to feel like an old man
alone in a small boat
In a snowfall of blossoms,
Only the south wind for company,
Drifting downriver, the beautiful costumes of spring
Approaching me down the runway
of all I've ever wished for.
Voices from long ago floating across the water.
How to account for
my single obsession about the past?
How to account for
these blossoms as white as an autumn frost?
Dust of the future baptizing our faithless foreheads.
Alone in a small boat, released in a snowfall of blossoms. ~ Charles Wright
Runway quotes by Charles Wright
'Project Runway' was my guilty pleasure while my son was napping or nursing. ~ Debra Messing
Runway quotes by Debra Messing
We're number one on the runway. ~ Buzz Aldrin
Runway quotes by Buzz Aldrin
No cancer, if that's what you're thinking, she'd say if anyone commented on her runway-model thinness, which she ordinarily disguised with billowing dresses or caftans. I'm just in training for the final lap around the track. ~ Stephen King
Runway quotes by Stephen King
We didn't know what the reception was going to be when we walked out on the runway, but it felt like we were in a rock band. People started cheering. It was a nice way to begin Zoolander 2, with that kind of reception. ~ Owen Wilson
Runway quotes by Owen Wilson
The people of your century no longer require the service of composers. A composer is as useful to a person in a jogging suit as a dinsoaur turd in the middle of his runway. ~ Frank Zappa
Runway quotes by Frank Zappa
I'd rather be on the cast of 'Love & Hip-Hop' than 'Project Runway.' ~ Solange Knowles
Runway quotes by Solange Knowles
It's useless to send models out on the runway to cry. ~ Sonia Rykiel
Runway quotes by Sonia Rykiel
You have to realize that when I started to work on 'Aladdin', Disney Theatrical wasn't in existence. I suppose I had always hoped that 'Aladdin' would be somewhere on the runway. ~ Jonathan Freeman
Runway quotes by Jonathan Freeman
Fashion Week is surprisingly very short. At least the actual runway shows are. ~ Tinie Tempah
Runway quotes by Tinie Tempah
A shortage of airports runways and gates along outmoded air traffic control systems have made U.S. air travel the most congested in the world. ~ Ray LaHood
Runway quotes by Ray LaHood
When the first contingents of U.S. troops were being sent to Saudi Arabia, in August of 1990, Corporal Jeff Patterson, a twenty-two-year-old Marine stationed in Hawaii, sat down on the runway of the airfield and refused to board a plane bound to Saudi Arabia. He asked to be discharged from the Marine Corps:
I have come to believe that there are no justified wars. . . . I began to question exactly what I was doing in the Marine Corps about the time I began to read about history. I began to read up on America's support for the murderous regimes of Guatemala, Iran, under the Shah, and El Salvador. . . . I object to the military use of force against any people, anywhere, any time. ~ Howard Zinn
Runway quotes by Howard Zinn
I hate high fashion. I hate that we reward people for being genetic freaks. You hear the guys announcing the runway shows saying, 'A pretty face is your best asset this season.' And what? Ugly girls had a free ride last year? ~ Janeane Garofalo
Runway quotes by Janeane Garofalo
I became a cover girl and an editorial model, and then I became a runway model. ~ Janice Dickinson
Runway quotes by Janice Dickinson
Whatever you think and talk about paves the runway for what you will create. ~ Alan Cohen
Runway quotes by Alan Cohen
Eastman Jacob's legendary attempt to launch a car attached to a glider plane using Hampton's Tony Chesapeake Avenue as a runway only confirmed the Hamptonian's feelings that the Good Lord didn't always see fit to give book sense and common sense to the same individual. ~ Margot Lee Shetterly
Runway quotes by Margot Lee Shetterly
General Mario Vargas Salinas, now retired from Bolivia's Eighth Army Division, was one of the young army officers present at Guevara's burial. It was his duty to accompany an old dump truck carrying the bodies of the six dead rebels, including that of "Che" Guevara, to the airstrip in Vallegrande, Bolivia. Knowing that the facts surrounding the burials were leaking out, he decided that after 28 years the world should know what had happened to "Che" Guevara's body. At the time, Captain Vargas, who had also led the ambush in which Tamara "Tania" Bunke, Guevara's lover, was shot dead, said that Guevara was buried early on the morning of October 11th, 1967, at the end of the town's landing strip. After the gruesome facts became known, the Bolivian government ordered the army to find Guevara's remains for a proper burial.
General Gary Prado Salmón, retired, had been the commander of the unit that had captured Guevara. He confirmed General Vargas' statement and added that the guerrilla fighters had been burned, before dumping their bodies into a mass grave, dug by a bulldozer, at the end of the Vallegrande airstrip. He explained that the body of "Che" Guevara had been buried in a separate gravesite under the runway. The morning after the burials, "Che" Guevara's brother arrived in Vallegrande, hoping to see his brother's remains. Upon asking, he was told by the police that it was too late. Talking to some of the army officers, he was told lies or perhaps just differing account ~ Hank Bracker
Runway quotes by Hank Bracker
When I modeled, I lived in Europe and worked all the time. I did runway, and that's all I did. ~ Andie MacDowell
Runway quotes by Andie MacDowell
I still feel like I'm alone at times - even if I'm in the midst of a million people. Because no one - including me - understands my mind creatively. I haven't really been formally introduced to my gift yet. I feel like I'm still on the runway. ~ R. Kelly
Runway quotes by R. Kelly
Walking the runway with Alexander McQueen, I really had to dig deep. You're with Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell. I was the first person out on the runway, but I thought, 'I have done the Olympics, I can do this.' ~ Aimee Mullins
Runway quotes by Aimee Mullins
I live for that exhilarating moment when I'm in an airplane rushing down the runway and pull on the stick and feel lift under its wings. It's a magical feeling to climb toward the heavens, seeing objects and people on the ground grow smaller and more insignificant. You have left that world beneath you. You are inside the sky. ~ Gordon Cooper
Runway quotes by Gordon Cooper
I can eat healthy when I want to, and I can work out every single day, and I can have the body for a certain runway show if I need to, but that doesn't mean that I'm doing it in an unhealthy way. ~ Gigi Hadid
Runway quotes by Gigi Hadid
No matter how many shows I've done, as soon as they say it's time to start, I get that nervous sensation and feel like I have to pee. So that's where my mind is. That and making it to the end of the runway and back as fast as I can. ~ Gisele Bundchen
Runway quotes by Gisele Bundchen
You don't learn style from watching people on a runway. Fashion happens every morning when you wake up. ~ Shalom Harlow
Runway quotes by Shalom Harlow
I'm urging NASA to foster the development of what I call 'runway landers.' No, that's not the name of a high stakes gambler from Vegas. It's a type of spacecraft that flies to orbit like the retiring Shuttles but then glides to a landing like an airplane on a runway. Just like the Shuttles do. ~ Buzz Aldrin
Runway quotes by Buzz Aldrin
I used to think I was in love with Mia because she was in love with me. Now when I watch her strutting down the runway, twisting and flouncing the way her mother trained her, I know she's just a human coat hanger. A wired body I hold late at night and try to fit into. ~ Laurie Perez
Runway quotes by Laurie Perez
What we have here is an unexpected touchdown on the runway of the heart. ~ Tom Robbins
Runway quotes by Tom Robbins
Son of a bitch!" "What is it?" asked Coleman. "Our flight's delayed!" "But only fifteen minutes," said Coleman. "I've seen this movie before. 'Fifteen minutes' is code for 'at least three to five hours.' They know the plane's stuck in Pittsburgh, where they wrestled another drunk pilot to the runway, but they don't want an open passenger revolt, so they incrementally string us along fifteen minutes at a time, until you're across the international date line." Serge paced in front of the departure screen. Fifteen minutes later, Serge grabbed Coleman and pointed. "Sweet Jesus! They just added another fifteen minutes! ~ Tim Dorsey
Runway quotes by Tim Dorsey
People say history is boring, and that is true because people are boring. We haven't changed since time began. We're still the same. We've obviously made some changes. When we started, it was all about food, clothing and shelter. Now we watch 'Top Chef', 'Project Runway', and 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.' ~ Colin Hay
Runway quotes by Colin Hay
Project Runway, chocolate and margaritas and suddenly all is right with the world ~ Sarah Pekkanen
Runway quotes by Sarah Pekkanen
Letting the free market do whatever it wants. That's not been historically how we grow. We have to invest in education, in rebuilding broadband lines and roads and runways, and it's important that we bring back American manufacturing and regulations to prevent consumers from being cheated. ~ Barack Obama
Runway quotes by Barack Obama
I've slipped enough times over the years to know the peril of a too-smooth sole, so every time I buy a new pair, I take a pair of scissors or a piece of sandpaper to the bottoms to roughen them up. In my catwalk days, I even used to spit on the soles of shoes before I ventured down the runway. ~ Marie Helvin
Runway quotes by Marie Helvin
The mass of men are very easily imposed on. They have their runways in which they always travel, and are sure to fall into any pit or box-trap set therein. ~ Henry David Thoreau
Runway quotes by Henry David Thoreau
Goal-setting illuminates the road to success just as runway lights illuminate the landing field for an incoming aircraft ~ Nido R. Qubein
Runway quotes by Nido R. Qubein
If Charles Lindbergh, flying with no instruments other than a bologna sandwich, managed to cross the Atlantic and land safely on a runway completely covered with French people, why are today's airplanes, which are equipped with radar and computers and individualized liquor bottles, unable to cope with fog? ~ Dave Barry
Runway quotes by Dave Barry
The designers usually don't like to say until we're on the runway. Like when I did Prada last year, I couldn't mention doing Prada or even Tweet or take a picture and put it on Twitter saying I was backstage at the Prada show. And Dolce was the same thing. They like to keep a little surprise, I guess, a little secret for everybody. ~ Alessandra Ambrosio
Runway quotes by Alessandra Ambrosio
Even if you fall on the runway, I wouldn't blame you. It would mean that we made a mistake in choosing you. ~ Ai Yazawa
Runway quotes by Ai Yazawa
the art that I appreciate and the people that I appreciate are not your average people. You could take away their money and take away their fame, and a week later, they would be wearing a garbage bag like they had just come off a runway in Paris ~ Troye Sivan
Runway quotes by Troye Sivan
Looking natural takes so long! If you look at the runways, the look for models is predominantly natural, isn't it? ~ Olivia Wilde
Runway quotes by Olivia Wilde
I think Starbucks created a platform and, ultimately, a runway for many other companies to emulate. I suspect if we had not achieved what we have, there would have been many regional brands that would have succeeded. But I'm not sure there would have been a national brand of the scope of Starbucks. ~ Howard Schultz
Runway quotes by Howard Schultz
Everything is amazing right now and nobody's happy. Like, in my lifetime the changes in the world have been incredible… Flying is the worst because people come back from flights and they tell you…a horror story…They're like: "It was the worst day of my life. First of all, we didn't board for twenty minutes, and then we get on the plane and they made us sit there on the runway…" Oh really, what happened next? Did you fly through the air incredibly, like a bird? Did you partake in the miracle of human flight you non-contributing zero?! You're flying! It's amazing! Everybody on every plane should just constantly be going: "Oh my God! Wow!" You're flying! You're sitting in a chair, in the sky! ~ Louis Ck
Runway quotes by Louis Ck
I've always used black girls on the runway, because I think they're beautiful. I don't need people to tell me, 'You need to use black girls.' I did for 20 years; it's not a new thing for me. ~ Carine Roitfeld
Runway quotes by Carine Roitfeld
I'm good at my job for a midwestern American. Maybe it's because people in fashion often mistake common sense for genius. I mean, some model walks down the runway in an impossible outfit, and I state the obvious ? no one is going to wear that ? and people are like, you're brilliant!. ~ David Wolfe
Runway quotes by David Wolfe
Genius without wisdom is like a plane without wings; it will navigate the runway but it will never know the sky. ~ Craig D. Lounsbrough
Runway quotes by Craig D. Lounsbrough
I have been a big fan of Coco Rocha's for many, many years. I have seen her walk in runway shows, pose like no other in photo shoots, and naturally follow her every move on Twitter and Instagram. ~ Brad Goreski
Runway quotes by Brad Goreski
Years ago I was a runway model, and I used to get laughs. I thought it was a joke anyway. ~ Nora Dunn
Runway quotes by Nora Dunn
Dwelling on an engine failure for a pilot as he rolls down the runway is NOT what he should be thinking about - it's obtaining a smooth liftoff! But in the back of his mind, he knows exactly what to do (or pretty much) and in many cases, if he's alone in the fighter aircraft, he has to leave that aircraft in an ejection seat in a big hurry! ~ Buzz Aldrin
Runway quotes by Buzz Aldrin
I do enjoy fashion - a lot of runway clothes are pretty unwearable, but if moderated, the trends can be worn by just about anyone. ~ Jane Asher
Runway quotes by Jane Asher
One road trip we were stuck on the runway for seven hours. The plane kept driving and driving until we arrived at the rink and I realized we were on a bus. ~ Glenn Healy
Runway quotes by Glenn Healy
We're the largest home improvement company today, and we did $30 billion last year, or less than 10 percent of the total amount of building materials sold in the U.S. So when people ask, how much runway left does Home Depot have, it's an awful lot. ~ Arthur Blank
Runway quotes by Arthur Blank
Mr. Wonderful was probably taking his sweet time, right?"
"No, it was actually my fault this morning. I was busy with…paperwork."
"Oh. Well, that's alright. Don't worry about it. What kind of paperwork?"
He smiled. "Nothing important."
Mr. Kadam held the door for me, and we walked out into an empty hallway. I was just starting to relax at the elevator doors when I heard a hotel room door close. Ren walked down the hall toward us. He'd purchased new clothes. Of course, he looked wonderful. I took a step back from the elevator and tried to avoid eye contact.
Ren wore a brand new pair of dark-indigo, purposely faded, urban-destruction designer jeans. His shirt was long-sleeved, buttoned-down, crisp, oxford-style and was obviously of high quality. It was blue with thin white stripes that matched is eyes perfectly. He'd rolled up the sleeves and left his shirt untucked and open at the collar. It was also an athletic cut, so it fit tightly to his muscular torso, which made me suck in an involuntary breath in appreciation of his male splendor.
He looks like a runway model. How in the world am I going to be able to reject that? The world is so unfair. Seriously, it's like turning Brad Pitt down for a date. The girl who could actually do it should win an award for idiot of the century.
I again quickly ran through my list of reasons for not being with Ren and said a few "He's not for me's." The good thing about seeing his mouthwatering self and watchi ~ Colleen Houck
Runway quotes by Colleen Houck
I have watched 'Project Runway,' but I'm not a devout watcher of it. But I think it's a great show, what I've seen of it, and I think Tim Gunn is a very positive, amazing guy. ~ Colleen Atwood
Runway quotes by Colleen Atwood
In modeling, my height was a big challenge to overcome, because I was pretty much the shortest girl on the runway whenever I was doing the catwalk. The clothes didn't fit and the shoes didn't fit. It was an issue, but luckily, it didn't prevent me from working. ~ Devon Aoki
Runway quotes by Devon Aoki
Most of us stand poised at the edge of brilliance, haunted by the knowledge of our proximity, yet still demonstrably on the wrong side of the line, our dealings with reality undermined by a range of minor yet critical psychological flaws (a little too much optimism, an unprocessed rebelliousness, a fatal impatience or sentimentality). We are like an exquisite high-speed aircraft which for lack of a tiny part is left stranded beside the runway, rendered slower than a tractor or bicycle. ~ Alain De Botton
Runway quotes by Alain De Botton
I love 'Project Runway' because I can really be of help to an industry and I can be supportive to designers. ~ Nina Garcia
Runway quotes by Nina Garcia
When I walk down the runway, my main goal is to not think about the people watching. The idea of all eyes on me would make me too uncomfortable. As I step on the runway, I take a deep breath, focus on a point in the distance, and go! ~ Gisele Bundchen
Runway quotes by Gisele Bundchen
I was able to participate in New York Fashion Week and walk down the runway. I participated in a pizza contest in Canada. ~ Takeru Kobayashi
Runway quotes by Takeru Kobayashi
Life insurance pays off triple if you die on a business trip. I prayed for wind shear effect. I prayed for pelicans sucked into the turbines and loose bolts and ice on the wings. On takeoff, as the plane pushed down the runway and the flaps tilted up, with our seats in their full upright position and our tray tables stowed and all personal carry-on baggage in the overhead compartment, as the end of the runway ran up to meet us with our smoking materials extinguished, I prayed for a crash. ~ Chuck Palahniuk
Runway quotes by Chuck Palahniuk
Annie laughed. She had a face, a body, made not for a Paris runway but for good meals and books by the fire and laughter. She was constructed from, and for, happiness. But it had taken Annie Gamache a long while to find it. To trust it. ~ Louise Penny
Runway quotes by Louise Penny
Our political culture is now so debased that we regularly hear 'do gooders' getting the blame for things. Enviromentalists trying to stop a coal-burning power plant or a new runway that will (let's just remember) DESTROY THE EARTH are branded as our enemies, these 'do gooders'. Like doing good is a bad thing. You read all the time in the press that 'do gooders' are to blame - a sweepingly derogatory term. Or even worse, the 'so-called do gooders'. I've never once read that the blame was being put fairly and squarely on 'cunts', and let's face it 'cunts' must be behind fucking things up far more things than 'do gooders'. If it's not 'cunts' then I blame those 'so-called cunts'. ~ Frankie Boyle
Runway quotes by Frankie Boyle
WHEN I WAS LITTLE, I was so girlie and ambitious, I was practically a drag queen. I wanted to be everything at once: a prima ballerina, an actress, a model, a famous artist, a nurse, an Ice Capades dancer, and Batgirl. I spent inordinate amounts of time waltzing around our living room with a doily on my head, imagining in great detail my promenade down the runway as the new Miss America, during which time I would also happen to receive a Nobel Prize for coloring. ~ Susan Jane Gilman
Runway quotes by Susan Jane Gilman
I was one of the first print models to go on the runway because I wanted to do runway. When I started doing the shows, I was the only print girl there. ~ Linda Evangelista
Runway quotes by Linda Evangelista
