The soul is content to stay imprisoned in the human body ... for through the eyes all the various things of nature are represented to the soul. ~ Leonardo Da Vinci
The Human Body quotes by Leonardo Da Vinci
Without challenges, the human body will soften. We thrive when we push our boundaries, reach goals, and blast personal records. We perform better, we look better, and we feel alive. ~ Dan John
The Human Body quotes by Dan John
So quietly flows the Seine that
one hardly notices its presence. It is always there, quiet and unobtrusive, like a great
artery running through the human body. In the wonderful peace that fell over me
itseemed as if I had climbed to the top of a high mountain; for a little while I would be
able to look around me, to take in the meaning of the landscape.
Human beings make a strange fauna and flora. From a distance they appear
negligible; close up they are apt to appear ugly and malicious. More than anything they
need to be surrounded with sufficient space – space even more than time.
The sun is setting. I feel this river flowing through meits past, its ancient soil, the
changing climate. The hills gently girdle it about: its course is fixed. ~ Henry Miller
The Human Body quotes by Henry Miller
All of my life I've made things that are like fragmented mirrors of what I perceive to be the world. As far as I'm concerned the fact that in 1990 the human body is still a taboo subject is unbelievably ridiculous. What exactly is frightening about the human body? ~ David Wojnarowicz
The Human Body quotes by David Wojnarowicz
Mine is a gruesome job, but for a scientist with a love for the mechanics of the human body, a great one. ~ Judy Melinek
The Human Body quotes by Judy Melinek
Reading has as many functions as the human body, and ... not all of them are cerebral. ~ Anna Quindlen
The Human Body quotes by Anna Quindlen
Through the blur, I wondered if I was alone or if other parents felt the same way I did - that everything involving our children was painful in some way. The emotions, whether they were joy, sorrow, love or pride, were so deep and sharp that in the end they left you raw, exposed and yes, in pain. The human heart was not designed to beat outside the human body and yet, each child represented just that - a parent's heart bared, beating forever outside its chest. ~ Debra Ginsberg
The Human Body quotes by Debra Ginsberg
Do not confuse love with lust; they throb in two entirely different zones of the human body. ~ Sindhu S.
The Human Body quotes by Sindhu S.
I would avoid any product that contains genetically modified (GMO) corn, because there are still questions regarding the long-term health effects of genetically altered foods on the human body have not been thoroughly tested. Sugars are also sneaked into tons of different foods, especially foods marketed to kids. Again, study the labels carefully before buying. ~ Deirdre Imus
The Human Body quotes by Deirdre Imus
The celebrated Parisian doctor Professor Xavier Bichat developed a fully materialist theory of the human body and mind in his lectures Physiological Researches on Life and Death, translated into English in 1816. Bichat defined life bleakly as 'the sum of the functions by which death is resisted ~ Richard Holmes
The Human Body quotes by Richard Holmes
Nobody was ever replaced in life, no hole completely filled or loss totally healed. You didn't need a medical degree to know that the human body really wasn't stronger in the broken places. Like any bone, the cracks would always show if you looked hard enough. ~ Lisa Scottoline
The Human Body quotes by Lisa Scottoline
Incredibly, the human body produces about 2 million red blood cells every second. ~ Nessa Carey
The Human Body quotes by Nessa Carey
The human body is strangely made and sometimes it pays not to think about it too closely. ~ Walter Kirn
The Human Body quotes by Walter Kirn
Reporters insist on portraying me as a curiosity. Rather like a talking horse."
"You're an unusual woman."
"Not really. Many thousands of women have the minds and temperaments to practice medicine. However, no medical school here will admit a female, which is why I had to study and train in France. I was fortunate enough to become certified before the British Medical Association closed the loopholes to prevent other women from doing the same."
"What did your father say about it?"
"At fist he was against the idea. He thought it indecent for a woman to have such an occupation. Viewing unclothed people, and so forth. However, as I pointed out to him, if we're made in God's image, there can be nothing wrong with the study of the human body. ~ Lisa Kleypas
The Human Body quotes by Lisa Kleypas
This is also true in defining spirituality. The infatuation one feels toward another when one first falls in love is a mixture of dopamine, serotonin, norepinephrine. This feeling is exhilarating and intoxicating and it brings joy to most people.

The fact one knows the chemicals are involved does not lessen the experience when one is with that person. But it does help regulate your emotions if you know that the person you feel for is negatively affecting you. Oxytocin is another example of a "love" drug found in the human body that brings a greater chance of long term sometime moments.

[...]

It does not matter if it is the chemical or not, the tantalizing excitement and astounding exhilaration of life long sometime moments makes one grateful to be alive and breathing. These events enliven us and make us feel transcendence and in turn makes one feel transcendent in the merging. ~ Leviak B. Kelly
The Human Body quotes by Leviak B. Kelly
When I was 10 years old, a cousin of mine took me on a tour of his medical school. And as a special treat, he took me to the pathology lab and took a real human brain out of the jar and placed it in my hands. And there it was, the seat of human consciousness, the powerhouse of the human body, sitting in my hands. ~ Aditi Shankardass
The Human Body quotes by Aditi Shankardass
The human body is not necessarily a human being. ~ Abhijit Naskar
The Human Body quotes by Abhijit Naskar
The classic Soul Travel experience is leaving the human body in full awareness and having the Light and Sound of God flow directly into the Soul body. ~ Harold Klemp
The Human Body quotes by Harold Klemp
It was extremely important to show that Wilde's sexuality was not just some intellectual idea. It was real, and it was about the human body. To just have mentioned it and not shown it would have been, I think, peculiar and wrong. ~ Stephen Fry
The Human Body quotes by Stephen Fry
Surely there is no more wretched sight that the human body unloved and uncared for. ~ Corrie Ten Boom
The Human Body quotes by Corrie Ten Boom
I am a collection of water, calcium and organic molecules called Carl Sagan. You are a collection of almost identical molecules with a different collective label. But is that all? Is there nothing in here but molecules? Some people find this idea somehow demeaning to human dignity. For myself, I find it elevating that our universe permits the evolution of molecular machines as intricate and subtle as we.

But the essence of life is not so much the atoms and simple molecules that make us up as the way in which they are put together. Every now and then we read that the chemicals which constitute the human body cost ninety-seven cents or ten dollars or some such figure; it is a little depressing to find our bodies valued so little. However, these estimates are for human beings reduced to our simplest possible components. We are made mostly of water, which costs almost nothing; the carbon is costed in the form of coal; the calcium in our bones as chalk; the nitrogen in our proteins as air (cheap also); the iron in our blood as rusty nails. If we did not know better, we might be tempted to take all the atoms that make us up, mix them together in a big container and stir. We can do this as much as we want. But in the end all we have is a tedious mixture of atoms. How could we have expected anything else? ~ Carl Sagan
The Human Body quotes by Carl Sagan
The collar-bone is my favourite part of the human body. ~ Shahrukh Khan
The Human Body quotes by Shahrukh Khan
28. It is a capital evil with respect to the question We are discussing to take for granted that the one class of society is of itself hostile to the other, as if nature had set rich and poor against each other to fight fiercely in implacable war. This is so abhorrent to reason and truth that the exact opposite is true; for just as in the human body the different members harmonize with one another, whence arises that disposition of parts and proportion in the human figure rightly called symmetry, so likewise nature has commanded in the case of the State that the two classes mentioned should agree harmoniously and should properly form equally balanced counterparts to each other. ~ Pope Leo XIII
The Human Body quotes by Pope Leo XIII
Nothing records the effects of a sad life so graphically as the human body. ~ Naguib Mahfouz
The Human Body quotes by Naguib Mahfouz
Survival is as much a matter of grace as fight. The expression, 'grace under pressure' implies the attainment of equanimity and equilibrium. The fundamental durability of the human body surprises us because the pain can be so intense - yet pain is often transient and hides the tremendous effforts the body is engaged in to heal itself. ~ Gretel Ehrlich
The Human Body quotes by Gretel Ehrlich
Like a bud is born with the knowing that it will flower when the season comes, like a bird is born with the principles of flight that take over when it spreads its wings to fly, the human body-mind-soul, is born with the capacity to heal itself, long before it is taught ... to forget. ~ Sanjiv Ranjan
The Human Body quotes by Sanjiv Ranjan
An argument could be made that the ultimate desecration of the human body is to end its earthly usefulness, which would imply that all murderers share equally that specific charge. ~ Lyndsay Faye
The Human Body quotes by Lyndsay Faye
Every day in the human body, some 10 billion cells die and are replaced by new cells. The cells that die do not meet a violent unpremeditated end, but are removed silently and unnoticed by apoptosis, all evidence of their demise eaten by neighbouring cells. This means that apoptosis balances cell division ~ Nick Lane
The Human Body quotes by Nick Lane
The human body contains blood, phlegm, yellow bile and black bile. These are the things that make up its constitution and cause its pain and health. Health is primarily that state in which these constituent substances are in the correct proportion to each other, both in strength and quantity, and are well mixed. ~ Hippocrates
The Human Body quotes by Hippocrates
the genes of modern-day Africans are a treasure house for all humanity. They possess our species' greatest reservoir of genetic diversity, of which further study will shed new light on the heredity of the human body and mind. Perhaps the time has come, in light of this and other advances in human genetics, to adopt a new ethic of racial and hereditary variation, one that places value on the whole of diversity rather than on the differences composing the diversity. It would give proper measure to our species' genetic variation as an asset, prized for the adaptability it provides all of us during an increasingly uncertain future. Humanity is strengthened by a broad portfolio of genes that can generate new talents, additional resistance to diseases, and perhaps even new ways of seeing reality. For scientific as well as for moral reasons, we should learn to promote human biological diversity for its own sake instead of using it to justify prejudice and conflict. ~ Edward O. Wilson
The Human Body quotes by Edward O. Wilson
The term Greek philosophy, to begin with is a misnomer, for there is no such philosophy in existence. The ancient Egyptians had developed a very complex religious system, called the Mysteries, which was also the first system of salvation. As such, it regarded the human body as a prison house of the soul, which could be liberated from its bodily impediments, through the disciplines of the Arts and Sciences, and advanced from the level of a mortal to that of a God. ~ George G. M. James
The Human Body quotes by George G. M. James
If something about the human body disgusts you, the fault lies with the manufacturer. ~ Lenny Bruce
The Human Body quotes by Lenny Bruce
When the finely tuned balance among the different parts of bodies breaks down, the individual creature can die. A cancerous tumor, for example, is born when one batch of cells no longer cooperates with others. By dividing endlessly, or by failing to die properly, these cells can destroy the necessary balance that makes a living individual person. Cancers break the rules that allow cells to cooperate with one another. Like bullies who break cooperative societies, cancers behave in their own best interest until they kill their larger community, the human body. ~ Neil Shubin
The Human Body quotes by Neil Shubin
Later, Aldapuerta spent two years at medical school where he learned the geography of the human body and something of its almost infinite capacity for suffering anddegradation. He took especial delight in tending to the physically incapacitated and wasthankful for the loose coats that "prevented the matrona from spotting the engorged cock that I would occasionally press against the bedridden patient". ~ Jesus I. Aldapuerta
The Human Body quotes by Jesus I. Aldapuerta
In general, I don't care for scenes of copulation.Certain functions of the human body are bloody private. ~ William Holden
The Human Body quotes by William Holden
While for most Christians, humans were expelled from paradise because they literally ate from the tree of life, due to the influence of a serpent, the Gnostics know that the tree of life is the human body, the serpent is the kundalini energy, which tempted humans through sexual desire, and sex was the prohibited fruit. ~ Daniel Marques
The Human Body quotes by Daniel Marques
Chiral receptor sites in the human body interact only with drug molecules having the proper absolute configuration, resulting in marked differences in the pharmacological activities of enantiomers. ~ Ryoji Noyori
The Human Body quotes by Ryoji Noyori
The human body represents to me the same universal innocence, timelessness and purity of all seed pods, suggesting the mother as well as the child, the parental as well as the descendant, conceived according to nature's longings. ~ Ruth Bernhard
The Human Body quotes by Ruth Bernhard
Consider the capacity of the human body for pleasure. Sometimes, it is pleasant to eat, to drink, to see, to touch, to smell, to hear, to make love. The mouth. The eyes. The fingertips, The nose. The ears. The genitals. Our voluptific faculties (if you will forgive me the coinage) are not exclusively concentrated here. The whole body is susceptible to pleasure, but in places there are wells from which it may be drawn up in greater quantity. But not inexhaustibly. How long is it possible to know pleasure? Rich Romans ate to satiety, and then purged their overburdened bellies and ate again. But they could not eat for ever. A rose is sweet, but the nose becomes habituated to its scent. And what of the most intense pleasures, the personality-annihilating ecstasies of sex? I am no longer a young man; even if I chose to discard my celibacy I would surely have lost my stamina, re-erecting in half-hours where once it was minutes. And yet if youth were restored to me fully, and I engaged again in what was once my greatest delight – to be fellated at stool by nymphet with mouth still blood-heavy from the necessary precautions – what then? What if my supply of anodontic premenstruals were never-ending, what then? Surely, in time, I should sicken of it.

"Even if I were a woman, and could string orgasm on orgasm like beads on a necklace, in time I should sicken of it. Do you think Messalina, in that competition of hers with a courtesan, knew pleasure as much on the first occasi ~ Jesus I. Aldapuerta
The Human Body quotes by Jesus I. Aldapuerta
Hands, are the most honest part of the human body, they cannot lie as laughing eyes and the mouth can. ~ M.C. Escher
The Human Body quotes by M.C. Escher
She was a cop, a Homicide lieutenant with eleven years on the job protecting and defending the hard, merciless streets of New York. There was little she hadn't seen, touched, smelled, or waded through. Because people, to her mind, would always and could always find more inventive and despicable ways to kill their fellow man, she knew just what torments could be inflicted on the human body.
But bloody and brutal murder was nothing compared to giving birth. ~ J.D. Robb
The Human Body quotes by J.D. Robb
This was an odd conclusion: seawater has many effects on the human body, but male-pattern baldness is not one of them. ~ Ben Macintyre
The Human Body quotes by Ben Macintyre
My holy of holies is the human body. ~ Anton Chekhov
The Human Body quotes by Anton Chekhov
Medicine is the science by which we learn the various states of the human body in health and when not in health, and the means by which health is likely to be lost and, when lost, is likely to be restored back to health. In other words, it is the art whereby health is conserved and the art whereby it is restored after being lost. While some divide medicine into a theoretical and a practical [applied] science, others may assume that it is only theoretical because they see it as a pure science. But, in truth, every science has both a theoretical and a practical side. ~ Avicenna
The Human Body quotes by Avicenna
All the inventions and devices ever constructed by the human hand or conceived by the human mind, no matter how delicate, how intricate and complicated, are simple, childish toys compared with that most marvelously wrought mechanism, the human body. Its parts are far more delicate, and their mutual adjustments infinitely more accurate, than are those of the most perfect chronometer ever made. ~ John Harvey Kellogg
The Human Body quotes by John Harvey Kellogg
They say the human body can lose 50 percent of its body parts and survive. But it depends on which parts, and which body. ~ Jan Ellison
The Human Body quotes by Jan Ellison
We try to place the human body in relation to the image all the time, so it's never a kind of a backdrop, but it's more of ... a much more integrative experience. ~ Simon McBurney
The Human Body quotes by Simon McBurney
The soul comes from without into the human body, as into a temporary abode, and it goes out of it anew it passes into other habitations, for the soul is immortal." "It is the secret of the world that all things subsist and do not die, but only retire a little from sight and afterwards return again. Nothing is dead; men feign themselves dead, and endure mock funerals ... and there they stand looking out of the window, sound and well, in some strange new disguise. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
The Human Body quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
This We Have Now

This we have no
is not imagination.

This is not
grief or joy.

Not a judging state,
or an elation,
or sadness.

Those come
and go.

This is the presence
that doesn't.

It's dawn, Husam,
here in the splendor of coral,
inside the Friend, the simple truth
of what Hallaj said.

What else could human beings want?

When grapes turn to wine
they're wanting
this.

When the nightsky pours by,
it's really a crowd of beggars,
and they all want some of this!

This
that we are now
created the body, cell by cell,
like bees building a honeycomb.

The human body and the universe
grew from this, not this
from the universe and the human body. ~ Jalaluddin Rumi
The Human Body quotes by Jalaluddin Rumi
On the contrary, every civilized human being, however high his conscious development, is still an archaic man at the deeper levels of his psyche. Just as the human body connects us with the mammals and displays numerous vestiges of earlier evolutionary stages going back even to the reptilian age, so the human psyche is a product of evolution which, when followed back to its origins, shows countless archaic traits. ~ C. G. Jung
The Human Body quotes by C. G. Jung
Paper money will invariably operate in the body of politics as spirit liquors on the human body. They prey on the vitals and ultimately destroy them ~ George Washington
The Human Body quotes by George Washington
The human body is sustained by the same prana that nourishes the universe. The body (your equipment) has the ability to control and use this special energy through the use of "pranayama". Don't let true word scare you - it just means to control, channel, and direct the flow of prana through the use of breath. ~ John Holland
The Human Body quotes by John Holland
Montrose tasted the coffee. No bitterness, a blend of several beans--some of which had been grown precisely the same way for over a thousand years--and just the right temperature. If pressed, he could name the chemical makeup of the coffee and the reaction of the human body to the brew. Yet there was still an almost mystical sense of well-being that few things imparted just by smell, taste, and warmth, and coffee was one. ~ Sherwood Smith
The Human Body quotes by Sherwood Smith
When the human body is put under exceptional strain, a range of dormant genes in the DNA are expressed and extraordinary physiological processes are activated. ~ K. Anders Ericsson
The Human Body quotes by K. Anders Ericsson
Most economists, like doctors, are reluctant to make predictions, and those who make them are seldom accurate. The economy, like the human body, is a highly complex system whose workings are not thoroughly understood. ~ Alice Rivlin
The Human Body quotes by Alice Rivlin
Science has done absolutely nothing about noise. The worst design flaw in the human body is that you can't close your ears. The reason you can't close your ears is, if a lion was coming, you had to wake up. Today no lions are coming. Beeping trucks are coming. I read the other day that the guy who invented the beep when trucks go backward, he died. I thought: Of course-he dies, I have to listen to it. ~ Fran Lebowitz
The Human Body quotes by Fran Lebowitz
The main information passed along to contactees is simply that the human body provides a host for a fragment of this undefinable soul energy. The major religions have been telling us this for thousands of years, pointing out that the human race supplies the shells for souls. Man's ego has demanded that he embellish this truth by adding the belief that his pitiful personality is worthy of preservation and that his memories and personality go along with the soul. ~ John A. Keel
The Human Body quotes by John A. Keel
The human body is not made to endure all the years that one may live ~ Gabriel Garcia Marquez
The Human Body quotes by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
I do not want to go into its physical reasons: the construction of the human body is different from that of carnivorous animals. But man's intelligence is such that it can be utilised to defend any-thing he does, whether right or wrong. ~ Morarji Desai
The Human Body quotes by Morarji Desai
The most sacred part of the human body is the brain and spinal system, revered from all antiquity and symbolized again and again in all the religions of the world. While other parts of the body are of great interest to the student, the mysterious working of the spinal fires by means of which liberation is finally attained is so tremendous that many years must be spent in understanding even the fundamental principles. The spine is the rod which budded, the Yggdrasil Tree, the flaming sword, the staff of comfort, the wand of the Magi. ~ Manly P. Hall
The Human Body quotes by Manly P. Hall
Being natural and matter-of-fact about nudity prevents your children from developing an attitude of shame or disgust about the human body. If parents are very secretive about their bodies and go to great lengths to prevent their children from ever seeing a buttock or breast, children will wonder what is so unusual, and even alarming, about human nudity. ~ Lee Salk
The Human Body quotes by Lee Salk
If my hand on yours trembles it's because bodies never lie. ~ Marty Rubin
The Human Body quotes by Marty Rubin
A man is not allowed to practise medicine unless he knows something of the human body, but a financier is allowed to operate freely without any knowledge at all of the multifarious effects of his activities, with the sole exception of the effect upon his bank account. ~ Bertrand Russell
The Human Body quotes by Bertrand Russell
The basic vehicle of the dance is the human body. When and how people dance is determined by their attitudes towards their body. ~ Gerald Jonas
The Human Body quotes by Gerald Jonas
The nude gains its enduring value from the fact that it reconciles several contrary states. It takes the most sensual and immediately interesting object, the human body, and puts it out of reach of time and desire; it takes the most purely rational concept of which mankind is capable, mathematical order, and makes it a delight to the senses; and it takes the vague fears of the unknown and sweetens them by showing that the gods are like men and may be worshiped for their life-giving beauty rather than their death-dealing powers. ~ Kenneth Clark
The Human Body quotes by Kenneth Clark
The information capacity recorded in DNA is of a size which
astonishes scientists. There is enough information in a single human
DNA molecule to fill a million encyclopedia pages or 1,000 volumes.
To put it another way, the nucleus of a cell contains information, equivalent
to that in a 1 million-page encyclopedia. It serves to control all
the functions of the human body. To make a comparison, the 23-volume
Encyclopedia Britannica, one of the largest encyclopedias in the world,
contains a total of 25,000 pages. Yet a single molecule in the nucleus of
a cell, and which is so much smaller than that cell, contains a store of
information 40 times larger than the world's largest encyclopedias.
That means that what we have here is a 1,000-volume encyclopedia,
the like of which exists nowhere else on Earth. This is a miracle of
design and creation within our very own bodies, for which evolutionists
and materialists have no answer. ~ Harun Yahya
The Human Body quotes by Harun Yahya
When the power of the shift rips the human body apart and transforms it into its new shape, there lives a second, less than a second, a mere shimmer of time when the mind is without a home, no body to call its own. Existence is painless in there, nothing but formlessness beyond understanding. A secret place, it contains nothing but the essence of self, a lost self. In the fire of pain, Colton found a whisper of that place, its ghost, its echo, and from that echo he withdrew a thread of deepest black. ~ Finn Marlowe
The Human Body quotes by Finn Marlowe
Every great artist must begin by learning to draw with the single line, and my advice to young animators is to learn how to live with that razor-sharp instrument or art. An artist who comes to me with eight or ten good drawings of the human figure in simple lines has a good chance of being hired. But I will tell the artist who comes with a bunch of drawings of Bugs Bunny to go back and learn how to draw the human body. An artist who knows that can learn how to draw ANYTHING, including Bugs Bunny. ~ Chuck Jones
The Human Body quotes by Chuck Jones
It is a paradox to say the human body has no 'limit.' There must be a limit to the speed at which men can run. I feel this may be around 3:30 for the mile. However, another paradox remains - if an athlete manages to run 3:30, another runner could be found to marginally improve on that time. ~ Roger Bannister
The Human Body quotes by Roger Bannister
The human body was not meant for such abuse. After about six months they lost steam. ~ John Grisham
The Human Body quotes by John Grisham
It's to surprise people about something that is extremely well known. I mean human reproduction, the human body, nature and so on. To surprise them with a new technique. ~ Lennart Nilsson
The Human Body quotes by Lennart Nilsson
Can I tell you a boring science fact?" she whispered. "I bet you didn't learn it in Shadowhunter history class."
"If you're trying to distract me from talking about my feelings, you're not being very subtle about it." He touched her face. "You know I make speeches. It's okay. You don't have to make them back. Just tell me you love me,"
"I'm not trying to distract you." She held up her hand and wiggles the fingers. "There are a hundred trillion cells in the human body," she said. "And every single one of the cells of my body loves you. We shed cells, and grow new ones, and my new cells love you more than the old ones, which is why I love you more every day than I did before. It's science. And when I die and they burn my body and I become ashes that mix with the air, and part of the ground and the trees and the stars, everyone who breathes air of sees the flowers that grow out of the ground or looks up at the stars will remember you and love you, because I love you that much," She smiled. "How was that for a speech? ~ Cassandra Clare
The Human Body quotes by Cassandra Clare
The human body heals itself and nutrition provides the resources to accomplish the task. ~ Roger Williams
The Human Body quotes by Roger Williams
The human body is something that I truly love, above all else. ~ Giorgio Armani
The Human Body quotes by Giorgio Armani
The tongue is the strongest muscle in the human body; use yours to lift someone up today. ~ Terri Ann Armstrong
The Human Body quotes by Terri Ann Armstrong
There are ninety-six thousand kilometers of blood vessels in the human body, children! Almost enough to wind around the earth two and a half times . . . ~ Anthony Doerr
The Human Body quotes by Anthony Doerr
Ms. Terwilliger didn't have a chance to respond to my geological ramblings because someone knocked on the door. I slipped the rocks into my pocket and tried to look studious as she called an entry. I figured Zoe had tracked me down, but surprisingly, Angeline walked in.
"Did you know," she said, "that it's a lot harder to put organs back in the body than it is to get them out?"
I closed my eyes and silently counted to five before opening them again. "Please tell me you haven't eviscerated someone."
She shook her head. "No, no. I left my biology homework in Miss Wentworth's room, but when I went back to get it, she'd already left and locked the door. But it's due tomorrow, and I'm already in trouble in there, so I had to get it. So, I went around outside, and her window lock wasn't that hard to open, and I - "
"Wait," I interrupted. "You broke into a classroom?"
"Yeah, but that's not the problem."
Behind me, I heard a choking laugh from Ms. Terwilliger's desk.
"Go on," I said wearily.
"Well, when I climbed through, I didn't realize there was a bunch of stuff in the way, and I crashed into those plastic models of the human body she has. You know, the life size ones with all the parts inside? And bam!" Angeline held up her arms for effect. "Organs everywhere." She paused and looked at me expectantly. "So what are we going to do? I can't get in trouble with her."
"We?" I exclaimed.
"Here," said Ms. Terwilliger. I turned around, an ~ Richelle Mead
The Human Body quotes by Richelle Mead
The formation in geological time of the human body by the laws of physics (or any other laws of similar nature), starting from a random distribution of elementary particles and the field is as unlikely as the separation of the atmosphere into its components. The complexity of the living things has to be present within the material [from which they are derived] or in the laws [governing their formation]. ~ Kurt Godel
The Human Body quotes by Kurt Godel
If Iowa is the 'heart' land, what part of the human body is Los Angeles? ~ Pat Paulsen
The Human Body quotes by Pat Paulsen
What is the most astounding fact you can share with us about the Universe?

"The most astounding fact is the knowledge that the atoms that comprise life on Earth. The atoms that make up the human body are traceable to the crucibles that cooked light elements into heavy elements in their core under extreme temperatures and pressures. These stars, the high mass ones among them went unstable in their later years. They collapsed and then exploded, scattering their enriched guts across the galaxy. Guts made of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and all the fundamental ingredients of life itself. These ingredients become part of gas clouds that condense, collapse, form the next generation of solar systems. Stars with orbiting planets, and those planets now have the ingredients for life itself. So that when I look up at the night sky and I know that yes, we are part of this universe, we are in this universe, but perhaps more important than both of those facts is that the Universe is in us. When I reflect on that fact, I look up – many people feel small because they're small and the Universe is big – but I feel big, because my atoms came from those stars. There's a level of connectivity. That's really what you want in life, you want to feel connected, you want to feel relevant you want to feel like you're a participant in the goings on of activities and events around you. That's precisely what we are, just by being alive… ~ Neil DeGrasse Tyson
The Human Body quotes by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
There are pretty amazing stuff about the human body, you should check it out. ~ Deyth Banger
The Human Body quotes by Deyth Banger
Significance is inherent in the human body. ~ Julia Kristeva
The Human Body quotes by Julia Kristeva
The human body is the most complex system ever created. The more we learn about it, the more appreciation we have about what a rich system it is. ~ Bill Gates
The Human Body quotes by Bill Gates
All knowledge that takes special training to acquire is the province of the Magician energy. Whether you are an apprentice training to become a master electrician and unraveling the mysteries of high voltage; or a medical student, grinding away night and day, studying the secrets of the human body and using available technologies to help your patients; or a would-be stockbroker or a student of high finance; or a trainee in one of the psychoanalytic schools, you are in exactly the same position as the apprentice shaman or witch doctor in tribal societies. You are spending large amounts of time, energy, and money in order to be initiated into rarefied realms of secret power. You are undergoing an ordeal testing your capacities to become a master of this power. And, as is true in all initiations, there is no guarantee of success. [Magician energy] ~ Robert Moore
The Human Body quotes by Robert Moore
Why were you named Garrett?" she heard him ask.
"My mother was convinced that I was going to be a boy. She wanted to name me after one of her brothers, who died while he was still young. But she didn't survive my birth. Above the objections of friends and relations, my father insisted on calling me Garrett anyway."
"I like it," Ransom murmured.
"It suits me," Garrett said, "although I'm not certain my mother would have approved of giving a masculine name to a daughter." After a reflective pause, she surprised herself by saying impulsively, "Sometimes I imagine going back in time, to stop the hemorrhage that killed her."
"Is that why you became a doctor?"
Garrett pondered the question with a slight frown. "I've never thought about it that way before. I suppose helping people could be my way of saving her, over and over. But I would have found the study of medicine fascinating regardless. The human body is a remarkable machine. ~ Lisa Kleypas
The Human Body quotes by Lisa Kleypas
Cam says, "Look at me, lass. Look at this body." He throws out his arms, juts out his chin, and puffs out his chest. "You think I got this perfect physique by starvin' myself? You think I became the world's most famous, beloved athlete by tryin' to be skinny?"
"I'm sorry, could you repeat the question? Your ego is blocking my ears."
"The human body is a complex machine. A temple, as they say. You have to treat it like one!"
"Yeah, well, my temple is more like an abandoned ruin the jungle has taken over and a herd of billy goats is living in. ~ J.T. Geissinger
The Human Body quotes by J.T. Geissinger
The Professor took the old practices and studied them, worked out their mechanical principles and then devised a graded scientific set of tricks, but is based on the elementary laws of mechanics, a study of the equilibrium of the human body, the ways in which it is disturbed, how to recover your own and take advantage of the shifting of the center of gravity of the other person. The first thing that is taught is how to fall down without being hurt, that alone is worth the price of admission and ought to be taught in all our gyms. ~ John Dewey
The Human Body quotes by John Dewey
Humanity shares a common ancestry with all living things on Earth. We often share especially close intimacies with the microbial world. In fact, only a small percentage of the cells in the human body are human at all. Yet, the common biology and biochemistry that unites us also makes us susceptible to contracting and transmitting infectious disease. ~ Brenda Wilmoth Lerner
The Human Body quotes by Brenda Wilmoth Lerner
No animal ever has an ugly body until it is domesticated. It is the same with the human body. ~ Martha Graham
The Human Body quotes by Martha Graham
Sodium is an important mineral that is essential for proper functioning of the human body - however, the American diet contains dangerously high amounts of sodium, almost 80 percent of which comes from processed and restaurant foods. ~ Joel Fuhrman
The Human Body quotes by Joel Fuhrman
My strong belief is that God created human beings and therefore he knows about every aspect of the human body. So if I want to fix it, I just need to stay in harmony with Him. ~ Ben Carson
The Human Body quotes by Ben Carson
Humans are the smallest organs of the human body. ~ Shinjini Bhattacharjee
The Human Body quotes by Shinjini Bhattacharjee
Medicine considers the human body as to the means by which it is cured and by which it is driven away from health. ~ Avicenna
The Human Body quotes by Avicenna
The physical universe was created when Oneness became duality, and we can see this duality, this yin and yang, everywhere in the universe, in every atom, every action, and in every function of the human body. Yin and yang are manifest everywhere, except at the very center of being, the perfect point of balance, at that infinite moment where the future becomes the past. ~ Robert Tisserand
The Human Body quotes by Robert Tisserand
On a small square, wood is being cut for the city school. Cords of healthy, crisp timber are piled high and melt slowly, one log after another, under the saws and axes of workmen. Ah, timber, trustworthy, honest, true matter of reality, bright and completely decent, the embodiment of the decency and prose of life! However deep you look into its core, you cannot find anything that is not apparent on its evenly smiling surface, shining with that warm, assured glow of its fibrous pulp woven in a likeness of the human body. In each fresh section of a cut log a new face og the human body. In each fresh section of a cut log a new face appears, always smiling and golden. Oh, the strange complexion of timber, warm eithout exaltation, completely sound, fragrant, and pleasant! ~ Bruno Schulz
The Human Body quotes by Bruno Schulz
The more I learn about the human body, our environment, and the universe, the more it increases my faith. ~ Benjamin Carson
The Human Body quotes by Benjamin Carson
Furthermore, because God created it, The human body can remain nude and uncovered and preserve its splendour and its beauty. ~ Pope John Paul II
The Human Body quotes by Pope John Paul II
Instead of using the machine as a metaphor for architecture, as Le Corbusier did, I use the human body. I want the public to know that it's them I'm designing for. ~ Michael Graves
The Human Body quotes by Michael Graves
God is not separate from us. The essence of God is in our hearts. Though we have veils between God and us on the physical level; on the level of the human body that does not mean God is separate from us. ~ Maleeha Yousuf Bertin
The Human Body quotes by Maleeha Yousuf Bertin
The human body experiences a powerful gravitational pull in the direction of hope. That is why the patient's hopes are the physician's secret weapon. They are the hidden ingredients in any prescription. ~ Norman Cousins
