Beau could talk a policeman into committing armed robbery. ~ Penny Reid
Talker quotes by Penny Reid
Most of us who turn to any subject with love remember some morning or evening hour when we got on a high stool to reach down an untried volume, or sat with parted lips listening to a new talker, or for very lack of books began to listen to the voices within, as the first traceable beginning of our love. ~ George Eliot
Talker quotes by George Eliot
For Alwyn's grandfather, who was known as "the greatest talker in the country," used words which no one else understood, words which he did not understand, and words which do not exist, to swell a passionate theme, to confound his neighbors in an argument, and for their own sake. He would say, for example, "My farm was the very apocalypse of fertility, but the renter has rested on his oars till it is good for nothing," or "Manifest the bounty to pass the salt shaker in my direction." Something of the Bible, something of an Irish inheritance, something of a liar's anxiety, made of his most ordinary remark a strange and wearisome oratory. ~ Glenway Wescott
Talker quotes by Glenway Wescott
My mother was a talker, but there are still so many things I want to ask her. She died when I was forty. But she did teach me to be a talker with my own children. ~ Susan Shreve
Talker quotes by Susan Shreve
Never in her wildest dreams would she have pegged this man as a dirty talker. Just went to show that you should never underestimate the quiet ones - and never let your guard down around them either. ~ Elle Kennedy
Talker quotes by Elle Kennedy
[ When I met Barack Obama] He says, I do a pretty good me myself - he said something like that. But he's - he is a close talker. He's a touchy guy. ~ Jordan Peele
Talker quotes by Jordan Peele
People love talking, and I have never been a huge talker. I carry on an inner monologue, but the words often don't reach my lips. ~ Gillian Flynn
Talker quotes by Gillian Flynn
The first time ever seeing a great talker was The Rock. It took a while for him to develop, but a great talker like The Rock, he was just incredible. Every time he was on the show, you wanted to see exactly what he was going to do which is what I try to do but I don't try to do it like The Rock. I don't want to be like anybody else.I want just want to be the No. 1 Miz. ~ The Miz
Talker quotes by The Miz
A chief called Lawyer, because he was a great talker, took the lead in the council, and sold nearly all the Nez Perce country. ~ Chief Joseph
Talker quotes by Chief Joseph
I swear to God, Boss," he said one day. "Ya ain't never been a talker, but lately, if ya'd a had to rub two words together to make a fire, you'd a done froze to death. ~ Eli Easton
Talker quotes by Eli Easton
If I have several bad guys and I only want to end up with one of them, then I have to decide which one I want in the end. And normally it's the one who is the most interesting talker. ~ Elmore Leonard
Talker quotes by Elmore Leonard
He was a marvelous talker, a magical talker, and I wish I were able to give a better idea what he said, but it is impossible for a mediocre intellect to render the speech of a superior one ~ Donna Tartt
Talker quotes by Donna Tartt
My dad's not a big talker. ~ Zara Phillips
Talker quotes by Zara Phillips
If a guy doesn't work hard and doesn't play well, he can't lead anything. All he is, is a talker. ~ John Madden
Talker quotes by John Madden
[...] intellectualism (as understood by Fascists) divocers thought from action, science from life, the brain from the heart, and theory from practice. It is the posture of the talker and the skeptic, of the person who entrenches himself behind the maxim that it is one thing to say something and another thing to do it; it is the utopian who is the fabricator of systems that will never face concrete reality; it is the talk of the poet, the scientist, the philosopher, who confine themselves to fantasy and to speculation and are ill-disposed to look around themselves and see the earth on which they tread and on which are to be found those fundamental human interests that feed their very fantasy and intelligence. ~ Giovanni Gentile
Talker quotes by Giovanni Gentile
I hadn't realized until this week that in [Moses'] youth he killed a man, an Egyptian, and buried him under some sandI used to worry that I wasn't enough like Jesus, but yesterday I remembered who was my king; a man who, when God addressed him and told him to lead the people out of Egypt, said, 'But I'm not a good talker! Couldn't you ask my brother instead?' So it should not be so hard to come at this life with a bit of honesty. I don't need to be great like the leader of the Christian people. I can be a bumbling, murderous coward like the King of the Jews. ~ Sheila Heti
Talker quotes by Sheila Heti
Even the most sublimely accomplished non-stop talker can't consistently please. ~ J.D. Salinger
Talker quotes by J.D. Salinger
THERE WAS ALWAYS a boy in your life that common sense and the prayers of parents told you to stay away from: fast talker, fast car, and fast hands. He was the boy your father kept a loaded shotgun by the door for and met on the front porch if he ever thought about venturing onto his property ... let alone the threshold. He was the tall, dark, mysteriously handsome, and uncharacter-istically quiet one that made you wonder what was going on in his head, and that little voice in your head said it wasn't always so honorable. He was the boy you broke all of the rules over because bad-boys equaled excitement and the rebel in you liked the ride. ~ A.J. Lape
Talker quotes by A.J. Lape
It almost takes people by surprise when I'm not a big talker. Because I'm known as being sort of a loud mouth. I have a lot to say. But I try to be more thoughtful with my comments or reactions, unless it's something witty or hysterical that I just can't keep myself from blurting or tweeting! ~ Natalie Maines
Talker quotes by Natalie Maines
That's why my ires always come comedic in a way because - can I just say something? See, I sound like such a smooth talker. ~ Garry Marshall
Talker quotes by Garry Marshall
He was a big talker, someone who liked words for words' sake, the sound of them, the way you can pile them up in your mouth and make a poem if you speill them out the right way.
p92 ~ Frances O'Roark Dowell
Talker quotes by Frances O'Roark Dowell
I am a writer perhaps because I am not a talker. ~ Gwendolyn Brooks
Talker quotes by Gwendolyn Brooks
Baby, I could watch you watching paint dry, and I still wouldn't be bored." Garrett Graham, my own personal sweet-talker. ~ Elle Kennedy
Talker quotes by Elle Kennedy
A good talker is sensitive to expression, to tone and color and inflection in human speech. Because he himself is articulate, he can help others to articulate their half-formulated feelings. His mind fills in the gaps, and he becomes, in Socrates' words, a kind of midwife for ideas that are struggling to be born. ~ Sydney J. Harris
Talker quotes by Sydney J. Harris
No great talker ever did any great thing yet, in this world. ~ Ouida
Talker quotes by Ouida
'When two people meet who are obviously attracted to each other, like we are, it always starts out as a game. I make a move, you make a move, and if the moves are correct, we both win.' ~ S.J.D. Peterson
Talker quotes by S.J.D. Peterson
There is a growing sense among Americans outside the Beltway that while President Obama may be a good talker, he is a lousy manager. ~ Kathleen Troia McFarland
Talker quotes by Kathleen Troia McFarland
The talker has found a hearer but not a listener; and though he may talk his very best for his own sake, you will find that his mental movements are erratic: they have no fixed centre and no definite object. His talk is like the water of a canal whose banks have given way, which rolls aimlessly hither and thither, without fulfilling any useful function, though it is the same water which was so helpful and serviceable, when it was confined within clearly marked limits by the restraining force of its earthy boundaries. ~ Charles Dickens
Talker quotes by Charles Dickens
We continue to say hi to those we've lost, and for a little while at least, the world down here feels a little less dark. ~ Joshua McCune
Talker quotes by Joshua McCune
My mother was a listener. I'm a talker. I'm very comfortable talking. ~ Diane Keaton
Talker quotes by Diane Keaton
Of all the classes of men, I dislike the most those who make their livings by talking - actors, clergymen, politicians, pedagogues, and so on ... It is almost impossible to imagine a talker who sticks to the facts. Carried away by the sound of his own voice and the applause from the groundlings, he makes inevitably the jump from logic to mere rhetoric. ~ H.L. Mencken
Talker quotes by H.L. Mencken
Mr. Haverstrom closes the door, leaving Patrick and me alone in the hallway. Pat smiles slickly, leaning in toward me. I step back until I press against the wall. It's uncomfortable - but not threatening. Mostly because in addition to racquetball I've practiced aikido for years. So if Patrick tries anything funny, he's in for a very painful surprise.

"Let's be honest, Sarah: you know and I know the last thing you want to do is give a presentation in front of hundreds of people - your colleagues."

My heart tries to crawl into my throat.

"So, how about this? You do the research portion, slides and such that I don't really have time for, and I'll take care of the presentation, giving you half the credit of course."

Of course. I've heard this song before - in school "group projects" where I, the quiet girl, did all the work, but the smoothest, loudest talker took all the glory.

"I'll get Haverstrom to agree on Saturday - I'm like a son to him," Pat explains before leaning close enough that I can smell the garlic on his breath. "Let Big Pat take care of it. What do you say?"

I say there's a special place in hell for people who refer to themselves in the third person.

But before I can respond, Willard's firm, sure voice travels down the hall.

"I think you should back off, Nolan. Sarah's not just 'up for it,' she'll be fantastic at it."

Pat waves his hand. "Quiet, midge - the adults ar ~ Emma Chase
Talker quotes by Emma Chase
One evening, we were sitting in his apartment, and he says, 'Little friend, by now you know what I'm like. I am basically not a very convenient person.' And then he went on to describe himself: not a talker, can be pretty harsh, can hurt your feelings, and so on. Not a good person to spend your life with. And he goes on. 'Over the course of three and a half years you've probably made up your mind.' I realized we were probably breaking up. So I said, 'Well, yes, I've made up my mind.' And he said, with doubt in his voice, 'Really?' That's when I knew we were definitely breaking up. 'In that case,' he said, "I love you and I propose we get married on such and such a day.' And that was completely unexpected. ~ Masha Gessen
Talker quotes by Masha Gessen
What makes a good salesperson? Let me be clear that it's not the person who can talk someone into anything. It's not the hustler who is a smooth talker. The best salespeople are the ones who put themselves in their customer's shoes and provide a solution that makes the customer happy. ~ Mark Cuban
Talker quotes by Mark Cuban
I like to take a long time over breakfast, and I can't bear to talk. If a guest is a breakfast talker it's very important to invite another so they can talk to each other. Otherwise they spoil the newspaper reading and everything else. ~ Julian Fellowes
Talker quotes by Julian Fellowes
What can I say? I'm a talker. ~ Conor McGregor
Talker quotes by Conor McGregor
I'd never been a talker in sex. Never saw the allure of dirty whispers. But now all I could think about was talking filthy and wrong. ~ Pepper Winters
Talker quotes by Pepper Winters
A lot of Republican candidate will tell you they'll protect innocent human life and they'll hunt down ISIS and get rid of Common Core, but we're actually doing things in our state. We need a doer, not a talker. ~ Bobby Jindal
Talker quotes by Bobby Jindal
Some guys can do more talking in the ring, other guys do posing, body building, whatever the hell they do in the ring. But I don't have the big body, and I'm not the big smooth talker, but I can get in the ring and wrestle. ~ Owen Hart
Talker quotes by Owen Hart
I think finding that happy medium is pretty much impossible. I have never seen or heard of a cheerful ghost talker. ~ Michael Kroft
Talker quotes by Michael Kroft
Conversation succeeds conversation, Until there's nothing left to talk about Except truth, the perennial monologue, And no talker to dispute it but itself. ~ Laura Riding
Talker quotes by Laura Riding
A good listener is very nearly as attractive as a good talker. You cannot have a beautiful mind if you do not know how to listen. ~ Edward De Bono
Talker quotes by Edward De Bono
The habit of committing our thoughts to writing is a powerful means of expanding the mind, and producing a logical and systematic arrangement of our views and opinions. It is this which gives the writer a vast superiority, as to the accuracy and extent of his conceptions, over the mere talker. No one can ever hope to know the principles of any art or science thoroughly who does not write as well as read upon the subject. ~ William Blaikie
Talker quotes by William Blaikie
Everyone asks for freedom for himself,
The man free love, the businessman free trade,
The writer and talker free speech and free press. ~ Robert Frost
Talker quotes by Robert Frost
The first is that learning to preach is difficult, and the difficulty is not greatly relieved by having a skilled instructor or by the discovery that one seems to be naturally a "good talker. ~ Fred B. Craddock
Talker quotes by Fred B. Craddock
Westerners know the difference between a talker and the real deal. If Rick Perry wasn't right to be governor of Texas, why should he be president? ~ Dick Cheney
Talker quotes by Dick Cheney
Always more, always hungrily scratching for more. But there were times, quiet moments, when our mother was sleeping, when she hadn't slept in two days, and any noise, any stair creak, any shut door, any stifled laugh, any voice at all, might wake her, those still, crystal mornings, when we wanted to protect her, this confused goose of a woman, this stumbler, this gusher, with her backaches and headaches and her tired, tired ways, this uprooted Brooklyn creature, this tough talker, always with tears when she told us she loved us, her mixed-up love, her needy love, her warmth, those mornings when sunlight found the cracks in our blinds and laid itself down in crisp strips on our carpet, those quiet mornings when we'd fix ourselves oatmeal and sprawl onto our stomachs with crayons and paper, with glass marbles that we were careful not to rattle, when our mother was sleeping, when the air did not smell like sweat or breath or mold, when the air was still and light, those mornings when silence was our secret game and our gift and our sole accomplishment - we wanted less: less weight, less work, less noise, less father, less muscles and skin and hair. We wanted nothing, just this, just this. ~ Justin Torres
Talker quotes by Justin Torres
I don't consider myself a very good talker or writer but a pretty good filmmaker. ~ Alex Gibney
Talker quotes by Alex Gibney
Miller is not really a writer but a non-stop talker to whom someone has given a typewriter. ~ Gerald Brenan
Talker quotes by Gerald Brenan
You grabbed my tit a little, Mr. Old Timey Talker."
Blake seemed to swallow a smile.
"Manhandling a lady is inexcusable. I would only do so if said woman was too stubborn to remove herself from a dangerous situation." He took Kyle's hand and kissed the top of it lightly.
"Aw, crap. Well, aren't you too fucking charming for words?" Kyle smiled despite her best efforts to look tough. "All right, Mr. Old Timey, I'll let you get away with the boob palming this time."
"That's fortunate because I hate ingesting my own testicles." He gave her a devilish grin with naughty eyes to match.
Kyle looked at Livia. "He's adorable. ~ Debra Anastasia
Talker quotes by Debra Anastasia
When I'm not on stage, I'm kind of shy. If you see me and I don't say much, don't think I'm not taking in what you have to say. I'm just not a big talker. ~ Justin Timberlake
Talker quotes by Justin Timberlake
As a young man, the seer became a rake. He drank and fought and made free with the village girls. He became a wagoner, carrying goods and passengers to other villages, an occupation that extended the range of his conquests. A good talker, sure of himself, he tried every girl he met. His method was direct: he grabbed and started undoing buttons. Naturally, he was frequently kicked and scratched and bitten, but the sheer volume of his efforts brought him notable success. He learned that even in the shyest and primmest of girls, the emptiness and loneliness of life in a Siberian village had bred a flickering appetite for romance and adventure. Gregory's talent was for stimulating those appetites and overcoming all hesitations by direct, good-natured aggression. ~ Robert K. Massie
Talker quotes by Robert K. Massie
The compulsive talker must go through the herculean transformation of learning to quit or must become a great monologuist. ~ Norman Mailer
Talker quotes by Norman Mailer
Lucidity of speech is unquestionably one of the surest tests of mental precision ... In my experience a confused talker is never a clear thinker. ~ David Lloyd George
Talker quotes by David Lloyd George
She did not want to go but understood that I was uneasy, that I felt spotlighted here, that I was not much of a talker to begin with -- chitchat in crowded rooms always left me exhausted -- and these things all had to be weighed. ~ William Landay
Talker quotes by William Landay
I pledge to you I'm not a talker. I'm a doer. ~ Michele Bachmann
Talker quotes by Michele Bachmann
Bitter your acts, bitter am I,
Kindness your deeds, kindness am I,
Pleasant and gentle, so you are,
Fine honeyed lips and sweet talker. ~ Rumi
Talker quotes by Rumi
Betsy liked to talk. Her father always said she got it from her mother, and her mother always said she got it from her father. But whomever she got it from she was certainly a talker. ~ Maud Hart Lovelace
Talker quotes by Maud Hart Lovelace
Smooth-talker is always selling you something. ~ Rea Lidde
Talker quotes by Rea Lidde
Individual psychotherapy - that is, engaging a distressed fellow human in a disciplined conversation and human relationship - requires that the therapist have the proper temperament and philosophy of life for such work. By that I mean that the therapist must be patient, modest, and a perceptive listener, rather than a talker and advice-giver. ~ Thomas Szasz
Talker quotes by Thomas Szasz
Dear Mama: The reason I didn't write last Sunday was because I was out of town. My friend Pound invited me to spend Saturday and Sunday with him … His parents are very nice people and have always been exceptionally kind to me. Mrs. Pound had prepared a fine meal … After supper Pound and I went to his room where we had a long talk on subjects that I love yet have not time to study and which he is making a life work of. That is literature, and the drama and the classics, also a little philosophy. He, Pound, is a fine fellow; he is the essence of optimism and has a cast-iron faith that is something to admire. If he ever does get blue nobody knows it, so he is just the man for me. But not one person in a thousand likes him, and a great many people detest him and why? Because he is so darned full of conceits and affectation. He is really a brilliant talker and thinker but delights in making himself just exactly what he is not: a laughing boor. His friends must be all patience in order to find him out and even then you must not let him know it, for he will immediately put on some artificial mood and be really unbearable. It is too bad, for he loves to be liked, yet there is some quality in him which makes him too proud to try to please people. I am sure his only fault is an exaggeration of a trait that in itself is good and in every way admirable. He is afraid of being taken in if he trusts his really tender heart to mercies of a cruel crowd and so keeps it hidden and trusts no one ~ William Carlos Williams
Talker quotes by William Carlos Williams
When the word is heard consult the source, and beware the messenger. ~ T.F. Hodge
Talker quotes by T.F. Hodge
We need a doer, not a talker. ~ Bobby Jindal
Talker quotes by Bobby Jindal
There's zero correlation between being the best talker and having the best ideas. ~ Susan Cain
Talker quotes by Susan Cain
One of the main things I know about O.J. Simpson is that he is a compulsive talker. So if I were to ask him one question, I would get 45 minutes on the history of the case. It would be irrelevant what I would ask him - he would just start talking. ~ Jeffrey Toobin
Talker quotes by Jeffrey Toobin
The pigs had an even harder struggle to counteract the lies put about by Moses, the tame raven. Moses, who was Mr. Jones's especial pet, was a spy and a tale-bearer, but he was also a clever talker. He claimed to know of the existence of a mysterious country called Sugarcandy Mountain, to which all animals went when they died. It was situated somewhere up in the sky, a little distance beyond the clouds, Moses said. In Sugarcandy Mountain it was Sunday seven days a week, clover was in season all the year round, and lump sugar and linseed cake grew on the hedges. The animals hated Moses because he told tales and did no work, but some of them believed in Sugarcandy Mountain, and the pigs had to argue very hard to persuade them that there was no such place. ~ George Orwell
Talker quotes by George Orwell
If you're looking for a slick politician or a guy with great teleprompter skills, we already have that. He's destroying our economy. I'm a doer, not a talker. ~ Rick Perry
Talker quotes by Rick Perry
When an individual becomes over-involved in a topic of conversation, others are drawn from the talk to the talker. One man's eagerness is another man's alienation. Readiness to become over-involved is a form of tyranny practiced by children, prima donnas and lords, placing feelings above moral rules that should have made society safe for interaction. ~ Erving Goffman
Talker quotes by Erving Goffman
The Coilhunter wasn't much of a talker. He liked to keep things short and sweet, just like the lives of criminals. Well, the short bit anyway. ~ Dean F. Wilson
Talker quotes by Dean F. Wilson
Let's fool around."
"And then?" he asked, voice low.
"When it's time, take blood, and then let's fuck."
He gave a surprised burst of laughter. "Ma petite, you are such a sweet-talker, how can I refuse? ~ Laurell K. Hamilton
Talker quotes by Laurell K. Hamilton
I had always been a great talker and teller of tales.
'You should put a lock on that tongue of yours. It's long enough and sharp enough to slit your own throat,' our guardian warned me, the night before I left home to go to the royal court at Versailles ... I just laughed. 'Don't you know a woman's tongue is her sword? You wouldn't want me to let my only weapon rust, would you? ~ Kate Forsyth
Talker quotes by Kate Forsyth
Keepers and Seekers were not permitted to do more than trim their hair to elbow length. Ashyn said they ought to be grateful they weren't like the spirit talkers, who weren't ever allowed to cut their hair or their nails. Personally, Moria would be more concerned with the "eyes plucked out, tongue cut off, and nostrils seared" part of being a spirit talker, but she could see that the uncut nails might be inconvenient as well. ~ Kelley Armstrong
Talker quotes by Kelley Armstrong
Everybody has a favorite color. What color makes you feel good when you see it? What color makes things better?"

He put his hands around her face and regarded her steadily, deeply. His thumbs traced the tops of her cheekbones. "Blue. Blue is my favorite color."

"Like sky blue, or navy blue, or - "

"Like your eyes."

Show wasn't a sweet talker or a romantic. He was just…true. Real. Direct. And it made the times he said amazingly sweet, romantic things like that a billion times more amazing, because he simply meant what he said. ~ Susan Fanetti
Talker quotes by Susan Fanetti
Nothing is more despicable than a professional talker who uses his words as a quack uses his remedies. ~ Francois Fenelon
Talker quotes by Francois Fenelon
Some folk, too, believe what the loudest talker says. And some folk because it frightens them not to. ~ Anne McCaffrey
Talker quotes by Anne McCaffrey
Drea, why don't you turn a circle and give us a good look?" the talker said, his chest all puffed out, as if he'd had something to do with making me perform.
"Fuck you," I said, nice and clear, in spite of my fuller voice, so everyone could hear.
A couple of teens near the back of the crowd laughed, but the mothers scowled and covered their children's ears.
"Sorry about that, ladies and gentlemen," the talker called with an amiable chuckle. "Most of our exhibits were born and raised in the carnival, and they hear a lot of rough language."
"Most of our handlers are full of shit," I added, drawing more laughter from the back of the crowd. "I learned to cuss the same place all of your kids did. In middle school. ~ Rachel Vincent
Talker quotes by Rachel Vincent
I am a straight talker. I am not politically correct or diplomatic. ~ Anurag Kashyap
Talker quotes by Anurag Kashyap
A man who listens because he has nothing to say can hardly be a source of inspiration. The only listening that counts is that of the talker who alternately absorbs and expresses ideas. ~ Agnes Repplier
Talker quotes by Agnes Repplier
I'm not a good small talker. I'm not into small talk, frankly. ~ Mohamed ElBaradei
Talker quotes by Mohamed ElBaradei
A good talker, even more than a good orator, implies a good audience. ~ Leslie Stephen
Talker quotes by Leslie Stephen
It is the best of humanity, I think, that goes out to walk. In happy hours all affairs may be wisely postponed for this. Dr. Johnson said, 'Few men know how to take a walk,' and it is pretty certain that Dr. Johnson was not one of those few. It is a fine art; there are degrees of proficiency, and we distinguish the professors from the apprentices. The qualifications are endurance, plain clothes, old shoes, an eye for nature, good-humor, vast curiosity, good speech, good silence, and nothing too much. Good observers have the manners of trees and animals, and if they add words, it is only when words are better than silence. But a vain talker profanes the river and the forest, and is nothing like so good company as a dog. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Talker quotes by Ralph Waldo Emerson
I was eccentric, even as a kid. I was an early reader, an early talker. I was very curious in a way that maybe the other kids weren't. I was a little more outgoing. ~ Michael J. Fox
Talker quotes by Michael J. Fox
There are so many kinds of different feelings - not good feelings - going on in the room, and he comes in with so much compassion. He's a straight talker and pulls them into what feels like a really positive action-struggle kind of feeling. Without seeing that, you might have all kinds of judgments or feelings about what might go on in a place like that. But it felt akin to a spiritual healing more than I could have possibly anticipated. ~ John H Richardson
Talker quotes by John H Richardson
I come from Detroit where it's rough and I'm not a smooth talker. ~ Eminem
Talker quotes by Eminem
Well, Mercy was a talker, friendly in his fury, and something about that strategy always got him results. That, or it was just because he was fucking huge and liked to use an ice pick. Either ~ Lauren Gilley
Talker quotes by Lauren Gilley
And the true listener is much more beloved, magnetic than the talker, and he is more effective and learns more and does more good ~ Brenda Ueland
Talker quotes by Brenda Ueland
If I Go, I'm Goin"

This house
She's holding secrets
I got my change behind the bed

In a coffee can
I throw my nickels in
Just in case I have to leave

And I will go if you ask me to
I will stay if you dare
And if I go I'm goin shameless
I'll let my hunger take me there

This house
She's quite the talker
She creeks and moans
She keeps me up

And the photographs
Know I'm a liar
They just laugh as I burn her down

And I will go if you ask me to
I will stay if you dare
And if I go I'm goin on fire
Let my anger take me there

The shingles man they're shaking
The back door's burning through
This old house she's quite the keeper
Quite the keeper of you

I will go if you ask me to
I will stay if you dare
And if I go, I'm goin crazy
I'll let my darlin take me there
If I go, I'm goin crazy
I'll let my darlin take me there

This Empty Northern Hemisphere (2009) ~ Gregory Alan Isakov
Talker quotes by Gregory Alan Isakov
You look like shit." Jason smiled, without opening his eyes.
"You sweet-talker. ~ Laurell K. Hamilton
Talker quotes by Laurell K. Hamilton
The man who has not the habit of reading is imprisoned in his immediate world, in respect to time and space. His life falls into a set routine; he is limited to contact and conversation with a few friends and acquaintances, and he sees only what happens in his immediate neighbourhood. From this prison there is no escape. But the moment he takes up a book, he immediately enters a different world, and if it is a good book, he is immediately put in touch with one of the best talkers of the world. This talker leads him on and carries him into a different country or a different age, or unburdens to him some of his personal regrets, or discusses with him some special line or aspect of life that the reader knows nothing about. An ancient author puts him in communion with a dead spirit of long ago, and as he reads along, he begins to imagine what the ancient author looked like and what type of person he was. ~ Lin Yutang
Talker quotes by Lin Yutang
If you're so fired up about playing host," Zane said, his expression both fierce and closed. "I'll let you take care of her luggage and show her to her room."
He put his hat on his head, nodded once at Phoebe and stalked away.
She stared after him for a second. He looked as good from the back as he had from the front. Her hormones yelled out catcalls of appreciation which--fortunately--only she could hear. But however impressed she might be with him, Zane obviously didn't return her feelings. He practically burned rubber in his haste to get away.
Chase brightened the second Zane was gone. "How was the drive?" he asked as he walked around to the other side of the truck and pulled her suitcases out from behind the driver's seat where Zane had placed them.
"Good."
"Did Zane talk?"
Phoebe glanced at him, not sure of the question.
Chase hoisted her luggage with the same ease Zane had shown and started for the house.
"He's not much of a talker," he explained as he walked. "I can't figure out if the act of forming words is physically painful, or if he just doesn't have anything to say."
She thought about the drive from the airport. "Things started out well," she admitted. "Then we sort of stalled about twenty minutes into the drive."
Yup--nothing like asking about bull sperm to shut down a conversational exchange.
"Twenty minutes, huh?" Chase glanced back at her over his shoulder and grinned. "I'm impressed. Most people get a ~ Susan Mallery
Talker quotes by Susan Mallery
As Narc became busier at work, he developed a bold new dating philosophy. His idea of a perfect first date was doggy-style, followed by a cup of coffee. He just didn't have the time or patience for anything resembling conventional courtship patterns and felt too depressed to be the charming smooth talker that he had once been. ~ Zack Love
Talker quotes by Zack Love
Stephen Tennant is the most sparkling talker who ever comes to my house, and perhaps the most amusing. He dances like the will-o'-the-wisp where other people stick in the mud. Though his really kindred spirits are the most exotic people he can find, he also greatly enjoys a talk with some extremely commonplace person, when he pretends that he thinks they mean something which they never thought of in their lives. He can be by turns poetic, malicious, and nonsensical. His talk is very pictorial and he handles words as if they were pait on a brush. When Stephen is alone with one friend he is often drawn to speak of very grave and profound subjects, and then he becomes unhappy, for he is never sure about what he loves and believes in, and would like to love and believe in so much. ~ Edith Olivier
Talker quotes by Edith Olivier
We were a perfect match. I'm a talker; Laura is a listener. I am restless; she is calm. I can get a little carried away; she is practical and down-to-earth. Above all, she is genuine and natural. There is no phoniness about her. Her appeal was immediate and constant. In August, I went to visit my family in Kennebunkport, planning to stay for a week. After one night, I flew back to Texas to be with Laura. ~ George W. Bush

"Yeah. You are a smooth talker."
I give her a wounded frown."Sweetheart, would I ever lie to you?"
"Don't try. I'd see right through it." I give her a low laugh. "Fair enough. ~ Marie Lu

If you light upon an impertinent talker, that sticks to you like a bur, to the disappointment of your important occasions, deal freely with him, break off the discourse, and pursue your business. ~ Plutarch

She was a talker, wasn't she?" Bobby Lee said, sliding down the ditch with a yodel.
"She would of been a good woman," The Misfit said, "if it had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life."
"Some fun!" Bobby Lee said.
"Shut up, Bobby Lee," The Misfit said. "It's no real pleasure in life. ~ Flannery O'Connor
