Every time when they would call my name I kept hearing 'New York Knicks' instead of 'Seattle SuperSonics.' ~ Patrick Ewing
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Patrick Ewing
What's my favorite thing about Seattle? It's Ho Ho's Restaurant. ~ Marshawn Lynch
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Marshawn Lynch
The human digestive tract is like the Amtrak line from Seattle to Los Angeles: transit time is about thirty hours, and the scenery on the last leg is pretty monotonous. ~ Mary Roach
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Mary Roach
When it comes to grunge or even just Seattle, I think there was one band that made the definitive music of the time. It wasn't us or Nirvana, but Mudhoney. Nirvana delivered it to the world, but Mudhoney were the band of that time and sound. ~ Eddie Vedder
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Eddie Vedder
I never thought I would be the oldest quarterback in the National Football League at one point, not in a million years. I never thought I would play as long as I did, either, seventeen years from start to finish, with stops in Houston, Minnesota, Seattle, and Kansas City. ~ Warren Moon
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Warren Moon
The white man's dead forget the country of their birth when they go to walk among the stars. Our dead never forget this beautiful Earth, for it is the mother of the red man. We are part of the Earth and it is part of us. ~ Chief Seattle
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Chief Seattle
I think what's beautiful when you're looking at artists like Macklemore and you're looking at artists like Ayron Jones, they're proud of Seattle and they're bringing it back. Seattle's a real music town. When you act ashamed of that, you should be pushed outta the game as far as I'm concerned. ~ Sir Mix-a-Lot
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Sir Mix-a-Lot
Solidarity is what the State fears. -- Leah-Lynn Plante ~ Leah-Lynn Plante
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Leah-Lynn Plante
How many people know 10 good things about America? Almost anyone can tell that. But thing is that cities in America is not certain or similar to each other. The many popular cities are also popular due to their food style like Portland Oregon, San Francisco, California, Las Vegas, Nevada, and Seattle Washington etc and many other cities like this including Miami too.

According to wallet hub, Miami stands at 3rd position about their craze of food and other things. But Miami is not just a food city but also claimed a name as a crime city. ~ Scott Cooper Miami
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Scott Cooper Miami
My parents are very successful, and I went to the nicest private school in the Seattle area. I was lucky. But I never had any trust funds of any kind, though my dad did pay my tuition at Harvard, which was quite expensive. ~ Bill Gates
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Bill Gates
In northwest Seattle, there is an immensely popular 'old-fashioned' ice cream parlor. It is modern, spotless, and gleaming, bursting with comfortable looking people on a warm summer evening. The parlor is dedicated to nostalgia, from the old-time decor to the striped candy, the ragtime music, the costumes of the smiling young waiters, the Gibson-girl menu with its gold-rush type, and the open-handed hospitality of the Old West. It serves sandwiches, hamburgers, and kiddie 'samiches,' but its specialty is ice-cream concoctions, all of them with special names, including several so vast and elaborate that they cost several dollars and arrive with so much fanfare that all other activities stop as the waiters join in a procession as guards of honor. Nobody seems to care that the sandwiches and even the ice cream dishes have a curious blandness, so that everything tastes rather alike and it is hard to remember what one has eaten. Nothing mars the insistent, bright, wholesome good humor that presses on every side. Yet somehow there is pathos as well. For these patrons are the descendants of pioneers, of people who knew the frontiers, of men who dared the hardships of Chilkoot Pass to seek gold in the Klondike. That is their heritage, but now they only sit amid a sterile model of the past, spooning ice cream while piped-in ragtime tinkles unheard. ~ Charles A. Reich
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Charles A. Reich
Q: Which party had wildest celebration and how did it play out?

1) The 1972 Dolphins Super Bowl watching party for the David Tyree catch?

2) The Jack Nicklaus day after Thanksgiving morning in 2009?

3) The NFL referee Monday night football watching party at Ed Hochuli's house for the Seattle/Green Bay game?
- Steve G., Salt Lake City

SG: Here's my theory on the day after Thanksgiving in 2009: I think Jack Nicklaus heard the news, went out and bought a bottle of 20-year-old Pappy Van Winkle, found an antique shotgun with 300 rounds of ammo, then drove to a secluded spot in the woods 25 miles away from any other human being. He got out of his car, started jumping around and screaming like he won the Super Bowl, did this for 20 solid minutes, then started swigging whiskey and shooting at things while whooping it up. Eventually, he drank the entire bottle, got back into his car and just started happily ramming into trees until the car stopped moving. Then he passed out in the driver's seat, woke up the next morning and walked home. Anyway, my answer is Jack Nicklaus. ~ Bill Simmons Grantland Mailbag Oct. 28 2012
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Bill Simmons Grantland Mailbag Oct. 28 2012
All things are connected. Whatever befalls the Earth, befalls the children of the Earth. ~ Chief Seattle
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Chief Seattle
We've got clouds and rain, just like in Seattle .. but Sao Paulo is better. ~ Eddie Vedder
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Eddie Vedder
When time permits, I try to see interesting people in the cities I visit. In Seattle, I met Paul Allen, the co-founder of Microsoft, who is shy in personality but flamboyant in his philanthropy. ~ Steven Pinker
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Steven Pinker
Their menu points out that: "It took Vikings many centuries to create the smorgasbord. It brings you the fish of the sea, the meats of the range... the fruits of the land and the wings of the sky in a gracious gesture of hospitality and welcomes you to the meal that follows.... ~ William C. Speidel Jr.
Seattle Supersonics quotes by William C. Speidel Jr.
Switters was actually quite fond of Seattle's weather, and not merely because of it's ambivalence. He liked it's subtle, muted qualities and the landscape that those qualities encouraged if not engendered: vistas that seemed to have been sketched with a sumi brush dipped in quicksilver and green tea. It was fresh, it was clean, it was gently primal, and mystically suggestive. ~ Tom Robbins
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Tom Robbins
Look, I'd sat through just as many Hollywood movies as the next person. I'd seen Sleepless in Seattle, Titanic, Twilight, whatever. I knew the myth. But i didn't believe it. I knew it was made up, I knew none of it was even close to reality. ~ Juniper Bell
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Juniper Bell
I think Seattle has a great sort of luxury and comfort sensibility, which I oftentimes think is lost in fashion for fashion's sake. ~ Chris Benz
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Chris Benz
You shouldn't be wandering around in
such a big city all by yourself. Even if it is Seattle. ~ Nenia Campbell
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Nenia Campbell
This is a temporary setback, not a failure. Let it be a challenge for you. If you want to be a teacher, your can do it. If you want to be a wife and a mother, you can do that too. If you want to be a teacher, a wife, and a mother, all at the same time, try your hardest! ~ Dawn Klinge
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Dawn Klinge
Seattle rain smells different from New Orleans rain ... New Orleans rain smells of sulfur and hibiscus, trumpet metal, thunder and sweat. Seattle rain, the widespread rain of the Great Northwest, smells of green ice and sumi ink, of geology and silence and minnow breath. ~ Tom Robbins
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Tom Robbins
Paul was focused on Ann, alone. "Would
you like to dance?"
The dreaded question. Not because the person
asking was dreadful. Quite the contrary. She
wasn't immune to his charms, but Ann liked to
feel competent and in control. Dancing was not
going to make her feel that way. ~ Dawn Klinge
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Dawn Klinge
Irony is the disparity between what you expect will happen, and what does happen. So raining on your wedding day isn't ironic, it's just crappy. It would have been ironic if she had lived in a place like Seattle, and traveled to the desert of Mexico for a wedding and it ended up raining there, but not in Seattle. Alanis always gets the last laugh though. We all sit here, saying her song isn't ironic, but in fact, that's pretty ironic that she wrote a song called Ironic that wasn't really ironic. Those Canadians are pretty crafty. ~ Mo Rocca
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Mo Rocca
Around the time I opened my second restaurant, Etta's, I had just finished judging at the Jack Daniels World Invitational BBQ Championship in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Back home in Seattle, my goal was to recreate the sweet and smoky taste of that BBQ using our local wild king salmon instead of pig. ~ Tom Douglas
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Tom Douglas
If I'd written all the truth I knew for the past ten years, about 600 people - including me - would be rotting in prison cells from Rio to Seattle today. Absolute truth is a very rare and dangerous commodity in the context of professional journalism. ~ Hunter S. Thompson
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Hunter S. Thompson
Marty stayed busy as a chemistry major at Seattle University, ~ Jamie Ford
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Jamie Ford
I suppose I could admire all these slow Seattle drivers for their safety-mindedness, consideration for others, and peace of mind. Instead, I'm a fury of annoyance. ~ Maria Semple
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Maria Semple
The goal has always been to stay in Seattle and continue to play for the Seahawks. ~ Richard Sherman
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Richard Sherman
Mrs. Indianapolis was in town again. She looked like a can of Sprite in her green and yellow outfit. She always likes to come down to the front desk just to chat. It was 4:04 am and thankfully I was awake and at the front desk when she got off the elevator and walked towards me.

"Good morning, Jacob," she said.

"My name is Jarod," I replied.

"When did you change your name?"
"I was born Jarod, and I'll probably die. Maybe."

"You must be new here. You look like a guy named Jacob that used to work at the front desk."

"Nope, I'm not new. And there's no Jacob that's worked the front desk, nor anybody who looks or looked like me. How can I assist you, Mrs. Indianapolis?"

"I'd like to inform you that the pool is emitting a certain odor."

"What sort of odor?"

"Bleach."

"Ah, that's what we like to call chlorine. It's the latest craze in the sanitation of public pools. Between you and me, though, I think it's just a fad."

"Don't get sassy with me, young man. I know what chlorine is. I expect a clean pool when I go swimming. But what I don't expect is enough bleach to get the grass stain out of a shirt the size of Kentucky."

"That's not our policy, ma'am. We only use about as much chlorine as it would take to remove a coffee stain the size of Seattle from a light gray shirt the size of Washington."
"Jerry, I don't usually give advice to underlings, but I'm feeling charitable tonight. So I'll tell you that if yo ~ Jarod Kintz
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Jarod Kintz
Already, Seattle is taking hold of her. She still holds Sedona in the dry tan of her skin and in her hair, but the fine mist of the Northwest is making its way to places she didn't know were parched. ~ Susan Wiggs
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Susan Wiggs
In January of 1995, my family and I moved to Seattle. Pearl Jam did the first of their live radio broadcasts, Monkey Wrench Radio, along with many other Seattle musicians. ~ Jack Irons
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Jack Irons
She ate with her fingers, as her father did, for the first time in months, for the first time in this new house in Seattle. Akash sat between them in his booster seat, wanting to eat with his fingers, too, but this was something Ruma had not taught him to do. ~ Anonymous
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Anonymous
We had a big controversy in the United States when there was a limited number of dialysis machines. In Seattle, they appointed what they called a 'God committee' to choose who should get it, and that committee was eventually abandoned. Society ended up paying the whole bill for dialysis instead of having people make those decisions. ~ Ezekiel Emanuel
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Ezekiel Emanuel
We Die Young is about gang violence. That was something that was happening in Seattle, something that kinda opened our eyes. It just seemed like things were getting out of hand. Incidents where kids were getting shot, and getting their tennis shoes ripped off their dead bodies. It just seems like these kids are dying at younger and younger ages and getting involved in gang activity. ~ Layne Staley
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Layne Staley
Times were changing in the world of id. They had finally fired Jason, narrowing the group to Carmack, Romero, Adrian, and Tom. But something else was in the air. The Reagan-Bush era was finally coming to a close and a new spirit rising. It began in Seattle, where a sloppily dressed grunge rock trio called Nirvana ousted Michael Jackson from the top of the pop charts with their album Nevermind. Soon grunge and hip-hop were dominating the world with more brutal and honest views. Id was braced to do for games what those artists had done for music: overthrow the status quo. Games until this point had been ruled by their own equivalent of pop, in the form of Mario and Pac-Man. Unlike music, the software industry had never experienced anything as rebellious as Wolfenstein 3-D. The ~ David Kushner
Seattle Supersonics quotes by David Kushner
Your God loves your people and hates mine; he folds his strong arms lovingly around the white man and leads him as a father leads his infant son, but he has forsaken his red children; he makes your people wax strong every day, and soon they will fill the land; while my people are ebbing away like a fast-receding tide, that will never flow again. The white man's God cannot love his red children or he would protect them. They seem to be orphans who can look nowhere for help. ~ Chief Seattle
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Chief Seattle
When the green hills are covered with talking wires and the wolves no longer sing, what good will the money you paid for our land be then ~ Chief Seattle
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Chief Seattle
Holy shit, he was harder that a rod of steel, and as his leg ground out a torturous rhythm between my thighs, I realized I was hotter than spring in Seattle.
This was not a dream, this was real, and I had just fondled the boner of the Grim Reaper. ~ Tara West
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Tara West
There are cities that take your breath away by their sheer size; some by the beat of their rhythmic culture, but Seattle gives you your breath back. Fills your lungs. I take it in and feel like I can breathe for the first time in my life. My God, it's like I've been looking for this place all along. My ~ Tarryn Fisher
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Tarryn Fisher

Seattle Supersonics quotes by Maria Semple
This We Know. All Things Are Connected ~ Chief Seattle
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Chief Seattle
Yeah. When you want what's real and you try to find that in high school, you might as well be looking for a mossy rock beside a babbling brook on the corner of Sixth and Pine in downtown Seattle. ~ Deb Caletti
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Deb Caletti
I was never the class clown or anything like that. When I was growing up and doing theatre in Seattle I was always doing very dramatic work. Now I can't get a dramatic role to save my life! ~ Anna Faris
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Anna Faris
Vashon is an island, accessible by ferry from Seattle, mainly populated by NIMBY-ish hippies, NIMBY-ish yuppies, boutique farmers, and wizards riding recumbent bicycles. A full quarter of the children in Vashon schools are unvaccinated. ~ Lindy West
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Lindy West
Seattle, the mild green queen: wet and willing, cedar-scented, and crowned with slough grass, her toadstool scepter tilted toward Asia, her face turned ever upward in the rain; the sovereign who washes her hands more persistently than the most fastidious proctologist. ~ Tom Robbins
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Tom Robbins
If the opponents of an increase in the minimum wage were correct, then every time you fly to Seattle, you've got to bring a bagged lunch because there shouldn't be any restaurants because they should have all have gone out of business as a result of raising the minimum wage. ~ Thomas Perez
Seattle Supersonics quotes by Thomas Perez
