In existence you are body and mind, but in absolute you dissolve.
In existence there is sorrow; in absolute there is bliss.
In existence there is change; in absolute there is reality.
In existence you are known; in absolute you are energy
In existence you are thought, in absolute total awareness.
In existence you are matter, in absolute you are pure Spirit. ~ Gian Kumar
Pure Spirit quotes by Gian Kumar
Of course, of course. Mr. Buzzby, did it ever occur to you that a god may live, figuratively, a dog's life?'
'Eh?'
'Gods are transfigured, you know. They go up in smoke, as it were. In smoke and flame. They become pure flame, pure spirit, creatures with no visible body.'
("A Visitor From Egypt") ~ Frank Belknap Long
Pure Spirit quotes by Frank Belknap Long
She had never felt so light of heart and it seemed to her as though her body were a shell that lay at her feet and she pure spirit. Here was Beauty. ~ W. Somerset Maugham
Pure Spirit quotes by W. Somerset Maugham
The truth is you are the pure Spirit. The second truth is that there is a all-pervading Divine power of love. This power of love does all the living work. ~ Nirmala Srivastava
Pure Spirit quotes by Nirmala Srivastava
An evil can only be killed by another kind of evil,
because the pure spirit of peace can not do killing. ~ Toba Beta
Pure Spirit quotes by Toba Beta
Her purity of spirit would never be in doubt, though she moved through a blemished world. ~ Ian McEwan
Pure Spirit quotes by Ian McEwan
Dust to the dust! but the pure spirit shall flow Back to the burning fountain whence it came, A portion of the Eternal. ~ Percy Bysshe Shelley
Pure Spirit quotes by Percy Bysshe Shelley
In the life of Moses, in Hebrew folklore, there is a remarkable passage. Moses finds a shepherd in the desert. He spends the day with the shepherd and helps him milk his ewes, and at the end of the day he sees that the shepherd puts the best milk he has in a wooden bowl, which he places on a flat stone some distance away. So Moses asks him what it is for, and the shepherd replies 'This is God's milk.' Moses is puzzled and asks him what he means. The shepherd says 'I always take the best milk I possess, and I bring it as on offering to God.' Moses, who is far more sophisticated than the shepherd with his naive faith, asks, 'And does God drink it?' 'Yes,' replies the shepherd, 'He does.' Then Moses feels compelled to enlighten the poor shepherd and he explains that God, being pure spirit, does not drink milk. Yet the shepherd is sure that He does, and so they have a short argument, which ends with Moses telling the shepherd to hide behind the bushes to find out whether in fact God does come to drink the milk. Moses then goes out to pray in the desert. The shepherd hides, the night comes, and in the moonlight the shepherd sees a little fox that comes trotting from the desert, looks right, looks left and heads straight towards the milk, which he laps up, and disappears into the desert again. The next morning Moses finds the shepherd quite depressed and downcast. 'What's the matter?' he asks. The shepherd says 'You were right, God is pure spirit, and He doesn't want my milk.' Mose ~ Anthony Bloom
Pure Spirit quotes by Anthony Bloom
The purpose of all our explanations is not to have you understand anything, but for you to snap from the understanding of the intellect to the understanding of pure spirit. All our explanations work backwards. ~ Frederick Lenz
Pure Spirit quotes by Frederick Lenz
To us consciousness, or "the spirit," appears as a symptom of a relative imperfection of the organism, as an experiment, a groping, a misunderstanding, as an affliction which uses up nervous force unnecessarily - we deny that anything can be done perfectly so long as it is done consciously. The "pure spirit" is a piece of pure stupidity: take away the nervous system and the senses, the so-called "mortal shell," and the rest is miscalculation - that is all! ... ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Pure Spirit quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche
[Y]ou're someone who took up birds in the first place because they fired your imagination; they fascinated you because 'they seemed of all created beings the nearest to pure spirit- those little creatures with a normal temperature of 125°. ~ J.D. Salinger
Pure Spirit quotes by J.D. Salinger
The Westerners have lost the vision of heaven, they go hunting for the pure spirit in the belly. The pure soul takes not color and scent from the body, and Communism has nothing to do save with the body. ~ Muhammad Iqbal
Pure Spirit quotes by Muhammad Iqbal
Just consider, my friend, whether a pure spirit and virtue are anything other than saving your life and being saved. Perhaps we need to discard the idea of longevity and cease loving this life, instead committing these things to God and, believing that no one ever escapes destiny, to consider, with that in mind, how we may live the best possible life in the time that remains. ~ Marcus Aurelius
Pure Spirit quotes by Marcus Aurelius
The third sign we have for ascertaining whether this dryness be the purgation of sense, is inability to meditate and make reflections, and to excite the imagination, as before, notwithstanding all the efforts we may make; for God begins now to communicate Himself, no longer through the channel of sense, as formerly, in consecutive reflections, by which we arranged and divided our knowledge, but in pure spirit, which admits not of successive reflections, and in the act of pure contemplation, to which neither the interior nor the exterior senses of our lower nature can ascend. Hence it is that the fancy and the imagination cannot help or suggest any reflections, nor use them ever afterwards. ~ San Juan De La Cruz
Pure Spirit quotes by San Juan De La Cruz
There are no mistakes and it's never boring on the edge of imagination, which is only pure spirit having a bit of fun. ~ Wavy Gravy
Pure Spirit quotes by Wavy Gravy
God is a creative force, Lestat. And so are we. He told Adam, 'Increase and multiply.' That's what the first organic cells did, Lestat, increased and multiplied. Not merely changed shape but replicated themselves. God is a creative force. He made the whole universe out of Himself through cell division. That's why the devils are so full of envy-the bad angels, I mean. They are not creative creatures; they have no bodies, no cells, they're spirit. And I suspect it wasn't envy so much as a form of suspicion-that God was making a mistake in making another engine of creativity in Adam, so like Himself. I mean the angels probably felt the physical universe was bad enough, with all the replicating cells, but thinking, talking beings who could increase and multiply? They were probably outraged by the whole experiment. That was their sin."

"So you're saying God isn't pure spirit."

"That's right. God has a body. Always did. The secret of cell-dividing life lies within God. And all living cells have a tiny part of God's spirit in them, Lestat, that's the missing piece as to what makes life happen in the first place, what separates it from nonlife. It's exactly like your vampiric genesis. You told us that the spirit of Amel-the evil entity-infused the bodies of all the vampires...Well, men share in the spirit of God in the same way. ~ Anne Rice
Pure Spirit quotes by Anne Rice
If the impure and the unjust, the drunkard and the licentious, are loathsome to us, what must be the infinite loathing of an infinitely pure Spirit for those who are worldly and selfish, licentious and cruel, ambitious and animal! But with this great loathing is a great pity. And the pity conquers the loathing, appeases it, satisfies it, is reconciled with it, only as it redeems the sinner from his loathsomeness, lifts him up from his degradation, brings him to truth and purity, to love and righteousness; for only thus is he or can he be brought to God. ~ Lyman Abbott
Pure Spirit quotes by Lyman Abbott
Is that vodka?' Margarita asked weakly. The cat jumped up from its chair in indignation. 'Excuse me, your majesty,' he squeaked, 'do you think I would give vodka to a lady? That is pure spirit! ~ Mihail Bulhakov
Pure Spirit quotes by Mihail Bulhakov
The real self is pure spirit, a spark of the divine fire. This spirit is encased within numerous sheaths, which prevent its full expression. As man advances in development, his consciousness passes from the lower planes to the higher, and he becomes more and more aware of his higher nature. The spirit contains within it all potentialities, and as man progresses he unfolds new powers, new qualities, into the light. ~ William Walker Atkinson
Pure Spirit quotes by William Walker Atkinson
Sexual energy is divided into three distinct types. First: the energy having to do with the reproduction of the species. Second: the energy having to do with the spheres of thought, feeling and will. Third: the energy that is found related with the world of pure Spirit. ~ Samael Aun Weor
Pure Spirit quotes by Samael Aun Weor
The aggregates that we pick up in the human plane will be washed away, and we will become pure spirit, pure light, pure love, and pure ecstasy. ~ Frederick Lenz
Pure Spirit quotes by Frederick Lenz
Mickey represented an honest product, a pure spirit and a cheerful heart, a sort of staggeringly simple pleasure in the exercise of the imagination. ~ Eve Zibart
Pure Spirit quotes by Eve Zibart
The whole system of mental therapeutics may be divided into two parts; what we may designate as metaphysical cure denies that either matter or evil exists, and heals by inspiring the belief that the disease cannot assail the patient because he is pure spirit; the other class, faith cure, recognizes the disease, but cures by faith in the power of divinity, persons, objects, or suggestion. ~ George Barton Cutten
Pure Spirit quotes by George Barton Cutten
We live in a world of transgressions and selfishness, and no pictures that represent us otherwise can be true; though happily for human nature, gleamings of that pure spirit in whose likeness man has been fashioned, are to be seen, relieving its deformities, and mitigating, if not excusing its crimes. ~ James Fenimore Cooper
Pure Spirit quotes by James Fenimore Cooper
How body from spirit slowly does unwind, until we are pure spirit at the end. ~ Theodore Roethke
Pure Spirit quotes by Theodore Roethke
The truth which can be actualized after Self Realization is that you are not this body, this mind, this conditioning from the past, this ego, these emotions, but that you are the pure spirit. ~ Nirmala Srivastava
Pure Spirit quotes by Nirmala Srivastava
The religious utopian hides his pride behind the mask of humility; he recognizes God alone; he does not recognize ministers or sacraments since he puts himself in place of both. He ministers his own religious needs and he consecrates his inner self as a place of worship more worthy of receiving God than the churches. He substitutes his own sentiments and emotions for doctrine, because doctrines are man-made speculations unable to comprehend God's essence. He considers the sacramental, ceremonial and generally institutional aspects of religion as rigid and expendable molds which are adequate for the unthinking who need strong sensations and impressions to sustain their faith. He, on the other hand, puts his trust in his own individual inspiration, strengthens his faith through direct and permanent contact with the divine and so rises as a pure spirit to the level of a "truer" religion.

The secular utopian also displays excessive pride. He believes that societies of the past were based on error since they yielded to the political principle of organization and hierarchy. The goal of the utopian is to create a society in its pristine purity, as it were, unsullied by laws and magistrates, functioning through its members' natural good will and cooperativeness. Laws, institutions, symbols, flags, armies, disciplines, patriotic encouragement and the like will all be abolished because, for pure social beings, their inner motivation of social living - togetherness - is quite ~ Thomas Molnar
Pure Spirit quotes by Thomas Molnar
Self-Realisation. Soul recognition. The entering of Soul into the Soul Plane and there beholding Itself as pure Spirit. A state of seeing, knowing, and being. ~ Harold Klemp
Pure Spirit quotes by Harold Klemp
A person may profit by noticing the first intimation of the spirit of revelation; for instance, when you feel pure intelligence flowing into you, it may give you sudden strokes of ideas, so that by noticing it, you may find it fulfilled the same day or soon; [that is,] those things that were presented unto your minds by the Spirit of God, will come to pass; and thus by learning the Spirit of God and understanding it, you may grow into the principle of revelation, until you become perfect in Christ Jesus. ~ Sam Smith
Pure Spirit quotes by Sam Smith
Enlightened teachers get all sorts of assignments. Sometimes we end up in the higher astral; sometimes we end up in the realm of pure spirit; sometimes we end up in the desire realms. Sometimes we go down to the lower astral to teach, you don't really teach there, you just sort of are, because everybody is confused. ~ Frederick Lenz
Pure Spirit quotes by Frederick Lenz
...So speaks Man-Creating. Then, instantly, it all changes, and from Man-Creating I become simply Man-Alive--a member of society, a friend and neighbor, a son and brother of the human race. And when I look at what I have done from this point of view, suddenly I feel lower than a dog. I see all the pain and anguish I have caused to people I know, and I wonder how I could have done it, and how there could possibly be any justification for it--yes, even if what I wrote had been as great as "Lear," as eloquent as "Hamlet"...For what integrity is there that is not tainted with human frailty? If only I could tell myself that every word and phrase and incident in the book had been created at the top of my bent and with the impartial judgment of unrancorous detachment! But I know it is not true. So many words came back to me, so many whip-lash phrases, that must have been written in a spirit that had nothing to do with art or my integrity. We are such stuff that dust is made of, and where we fail--we fail! Is there, then, no such thing as a pure spirit in creation? ~ Thomas Wolfe
Pure Spirit quotes by Thomas Wolfe
Releasing masks and veils allows the other to see you in your authenticity. Guards are dropped, and we can be seen for who we really are: the uniqueness of our personality, the beauty of our soul, our pure spirit. ~ John Friend
Pure Spirit quotes by John Friend
What is wild cannot be bought or sold, borrowed or copied. It is. Unmistakable, unforgettable, unshakable, elemental as earth and ice, water, fire and air, a quintessence, pure spirit, resolving into no constituents. Don't waste your wildness: it is precious and necessary. ~ Jay Griffiths
Pure Spirit quotes by Jay Griffiths
We must see God not as a Him (some linear rewarding fellow) but an IT, a great beast beyond our understanding, who wants something from us, and we must give it, and all we may control is the spirit in which we give it and the ultimate end which the giving serves. ~ George Saunders
Pure Spirit quotes by George Saunders
Some 'separation' zealots would expunge any vestige of religious observance in public schools. Many of the same anti-religious fanatics would like to wipe out of existence all church-related schools, by regulation or taxation, so that universal ignorance of the life of spirit should prevail. ~ Russell Kirk
Pure Spirit quotes by Russell Kirk
The pastor is saying something about how Charlie was a free spirit. He was and he wasn't. He was free because on the inside he was tied up in knots. He lived hard because on the inside he was dying. Charlie made inner conflict look delicious. ~ A.S. King
Pure Spirit quotes by A.S. King
You're never going to learn something as profoundly as when it's purely out of curiosity ~ Christopher Nolan
Pure Spirit quotes by Christopher Nolan
Let someone who was not from among the convicts try reproaching a prisoner for his crime and abusing him (though it's not in the Russian spirit to reproach a criminal)
there would be no end of cursing. ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Pure Spirit quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Laws are partly formed for the sake of good men, in order to instruct them how they may live on friendly terms with one another, and partly for the sake of those who refuse to be instructed, whose spirit cannot be subdued, or softened, or hindered from plunging into evil. ~ Plato
Pure Spirit quotes by Plato
A half-hearted spirit has no power. Tentative efforts lead to tentative outcomes. Average people enter into their endeavors headlong and without care. ~ Epictetus
Pure Spirit quotes by Epictetus
I believe in the surprises of the Holy Spirit. ~ Leon Joseph Suenens
Pure Spirit quotes by Leon Joseph Suenens
Journeys end in lovers' meeting.' ... But the real journey - the journey of adventure itself - is frequently another matter: often gray, often loverless, often demanding from the secret soul of the adventurer spirit and inspiration, lest the blood turn cold in sick dismay, and the brain cloud under its weight of nostalgia. ~ Katherine Cecil Thurston
Pure Spirit quotes by Katherine Cecil Thurston
One arranges flowers as the spirit moves you; to obey some inner prompting to put this colour with that, to have brilliance here, line there, a sense of opulence in this place or sparseness in that; to suit your surroundings, your mood, the weather, the occasion. In a word, to do as you please, just as, if you could, you might paint a picture. ~ Constance Spry
Pure Spirit quotes by Constance Spry
You ... are stones of the temple of the Father, prepared for the Father's building, and drawn up on high by the instrument of Jesus Christ, which is the Cross (cf. Jn. 12:32), making use of the Holy Spirit as a rope, while your faith was the means by which you ascended, and your love the way which led up to God. You, therefore, as well as all your fellow-travelers, are God-bearers, temple-bearers, Christ-bearers, bearers of holiness, adorned in all respects with the commandments of Jesus Christ. ~ Ignatius Of Antioch
Pure Spirit quotes by Ignatius Of Antioch
Meditating always like the great Saint.Completely detached and completely one with the universe.

You are taller than anyone,
Stronger than anyone.
Thunder can't shake you nor can the clouds reach you.
You are fearless.

You are at the highest state, yet you are down and hold the strongest attachment with our Mother Earth.
You are Ego-less.

Your purity make the Nature run through you and virgin snow have the honor to make the beautiful scarf for you.
You are absolutely pure.

You witness all our drama, forgiving always no matter what and keep showering your blessings with the great treasure of Nature and for the survival of life in this heavenly planet of Earth.

We salute you O' Great Saint - The Great Himalayas. ~ Ricky Saikia
Pure Spirit quotes by Ricky Saikia
There is nothing like silence to suggest a sense of unlimited space. Sounds lend color to space, and confer a sort of sound body upon it. But absence of sound leaves it quite pure and , in the silence, we are seized with the sensation of something vast and deep and boundless. It took complete hold of me and, for several moments, I was overwhelmed by the grandeur of this shadowy peace.

"It asserted itself like a person.

"This peace had a body. It was caught up in the night, made of night. A real, a motionless body. ~ Henri Bosco
Pure Spirit quotes by Henri Bosco
We should kill our pasts with each passing day. Blot them out, so that they will not hurt. Each present day could thus be endured more easily, it would not be measured against what no longer exists. As things are, spectres mix with our lives so that there is neither pure memory nor pure life. They clash and try to strangle each other, continually ~ Mesa Selimovic
Pure Spirit quotes by Mesa Selimovic
The Princess was never heard to complain, for she was a true Princess with a pure heart. The happiest folk are those that are busy, for their minds are starved of time to seek out woe. Thus did the Princess grow up contented. ~ Kate Morton
Pure Spirit quotes by Kate Morton
Humans crave the comfort of company when in the darkness. Not darkness of vision, which they have trained themselves over long centuries and millennia to endure and overcome. But the darkness of soul. The darkness of spirit which cries out for help, for assurance that there is brightness in the dark, even if that brightness is only the spark of another human life. For where there is life there is always a small measure of hope. ~ Michaelbrent Collings
Pure Spirit quotes by Michaelbrent Collings
I don't want my life to be explainable without the Holy Spirit. I want people to look at my life and know that I couldn't be doing this by my own power. ~ Francis Chan
Pure Spirit quotes by Francis Chan
There is a principle which is pure, placed in the human mind, which in different places and ages hath had different names. It is, however, pure and proceeds from God. It is deep and inward, confined to no forms of religion nor excluded from any, where the heart stands in perfect sincerity. In whomsoever this takes root and grows, of what nation soever, they become brethren in the best sense of the expression. ~ John Woolman
Pure Spirit quotes by John Woolman
Who am I? I'm a poet. My business? Writing.
How do I live? I live.
In my happy poverty I squander like a prince,
my poems and songs of love.
In hopes and dreams and castles-in-air,
I'm a millionaire in spirit . ~ Rodolfo La Bohmé
Pure Spirit quotes by Rodolfo La Bohmé
Let us pray to the Holy Spirit, who is truly the author of this unity in variety, of this harmony, that he might make us ever more "catholic" in this Church that is catholic and universal! ~ Pope Francis
Pure Spirit quotes by Pope Francis
Emotions form pure, profound bonds
Emotions may blind us but they bind us. ~ Balroop Singh
Pure Spirit quotes by Balroop Singh
The great British Library
an immense collection of volumes of all ages and languages, many of which are now forgotten, and most of which are seldom read: one of these sequestered pools of obsolete literature to which modern authors repair, and draw buckets full of classic lore, or pure English, undefiled wherewith to swell their own scanty rills of thought. ~ Washington Irving
Pure Spirit quotes by Washington Irving
Words are good, but there is something better. The best is not to be explained by words. The spirit in which we act is the chief matter. Action can only be understood and represented by the spirit. ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Pure Spirit quotes by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
When men search for God with their bodily eyes they find Him nowhere, for He is invisible. But for those who ponder in the Spirit He is present everywhere. He is in all, yet beyond all. ~ Symeon The New Theologian
Pure Spirit quotes by Symeon The New Theologian
I spent so many summers and New Years and fun times in New Orleans. It was always a place where I felt I could go and actually let go and enjoy the spirit of something. ~ Sandra Bullock
Pure Spirit quotes by Sandra Bullock
I only ask your help, for which I have nothing to give in return."
"Nothing? You call your theory nothing"
"Weigh it in the balance with the freedom of one single human spirit," he said, turning to her, "and which will weigh heavier? Can you tell? I cannot. ~ Ursula K. Le Guin
Pure Spirit quotes by Ursula K. Le Guin
And the great spirit of darkness spread a shroud over me ... everything was silent-everything. But upon the heights soughed the everlasting song, the voice of the air, the distant, toneless humming which is never silent. ~ Knut Hamsun
Pure Spirit quotes by Knut Hamsun
For me, listening to my breath in between the lines, allows me to be in deep connection to my spirit. ~ Giancarlo Esposito
Pure Spirit quotes by Giancarlo Esposito
Indeed, living a spiritual life requires a change of heart, a conversion. Such a conversion may be marked by a sudden inner change, or it can take place through a long, quiet process of transformation. But it always involves an inner experience of oneness. We realize that we are in the center, and that from there all that is and all that takes place can be seen and understood as part of the mystery of God's life with us. Our conflicts and pains, our tasks and promises, our families and friends, our activities and projects, our hopes and aspirations, no longer appear to us as a fatiguing variety of things which we can barely keep together, but rather as affirmations and revelations of the new life of the Spirit in us. "All these other things," which so occupied and preoccupied us, now come as gifts or challenges that strengthen and deepen the new life which we have discovered. This does not mean that the spiritual life makes things easier or takes our struggles and pains away. ~ Henri J.M. Nouwen
Pure Spirit quotes by Henri J.M. Nouwen
Nothing happened. And everything did. Your whole life you can be told something is wrong and so you believe it. Why should you question it? But then slowly seeds are planted inside of you, one by one, by a touch or a look or a day skateboarding in a park, and they start to burst out of old hulls shells and they start to sprout. And pretty soon there are so many of them. They are named Love and Trust and Kindness and Joy and Desire and Wonder and Spirit and Soulmate. They grow into a garden so dense and thick that it starts to invade your brain where the old things you were once told are dying. ~ Francesca Lia Block
Pure Spirit quotes by Francesca Lia Block
He glanced up. His eyes were pure white. Great, his brights were on, but nobody was driving. ~ Ilona Andrews
Pure Spirit quotes by Ilona Andrews
It is important to have a certain amount of solitude just to clear your circuits. You will find that you can be very happy just being by yourself. Go to new places. It will cleanse your spirit. ~ Frederick Lenz
Pure Spirit quotes by Frederick Lenz
The flesh covers the bones, and makes the spirit naked. ~ Anthony Liccione
Pure Spirit quotes by Anthony Liccione
There comes a time in your life where you
have to live without the wo/man of your
dreams and have to live with the one in your reality.
That is called maturity ~ Nomthandazo Tsembeni
Pure Spirit quotes by Nomthandazo Tsembeni
Gratitude is a key that unlocks the door to a joyful spirit. When days go by without gratefulness, the door can feel stuck, causing an emptiness inside. The door becomes un-wedged and reopens once you re-focus on what you are grateful for. If you have draining days, reach deep within your heart and reintroduce gratitude to refill your spirit with joy. ~ Jackie Cantoni
