With the idea that a single creator can build a society wherein a huge number of people will live, Le Corbusier later approached Stalin. In India, he charmed a powerful provincial family and ended up making huge, sculptural relics in Chandigarh. ~ Masato Otaka
Project Japan quotes by Masato Otaka
This yet another DIY project that's simple enough it doesn't need laid out, listed instructions. Simply take the permanent marker of your choice and decorate your mug as you wish! You can keep it simple or go all out with a variety of colors, themes, drawings, sayings, and more. When your mug (or mugs) is decorated to your content, pop it in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. It is recommended to hand-wash the mugs after use rather than pop them in the dishwasher to better preserve the decorations. ~ John Getter
Project Japan quotes by John Getter
If you're an introvert, find your flow by using your gifts. You have the power of persistence, the tenacity to solve complex problems, and the clear-sightedness to avoid pitfalls that trip others up. You enjoy relative freedom from the temptations of superficial prizes like money and status. Indeed, your biggest challenge may be to fully harness your strengths. You may be so busy trying to appear like a zestful, reward-sensitive extrovert that you undervalue your own talents, or feel underestimated by those around you. But when you're focused on a project you care about, you probably find that your energy is boundless.
So stay true to your own nature. If you like to do things in a slow, steady way, don't let others make you feel as if you have to race. If you enjoy depth, don't force yourself to seek breadth. If you prefer single-tasking to multi-tasking, stick to your guns. Being relatively unmoved by rewards gives you the incalculable power to go your own way. It's up to you to use that independence to good effect. ~ Susan Cain
Project Japan quotes by Susan Cain
I was so happy with my bow ties from the last kickstarted project that I'm back for more. ~ Mike Mills
Project Japan quotes by Mike Mills
If the United States commits to the goal of reaching Mars, it will almost certainly do so in reaction to the progress of other nations - as was the case with NASA, the Apollo program, and the project that became the International Space Station. ~ Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Project Japan quotes by Neil DeGrasse Tyson
Hollywood is a roulette wheel. Each project dictates what's going to happen for you next, and it doesn't really matter that your project is critically acclaimed or won awards or has fans worldwide. It's a matter of how many movie tickets and DVDs and on-demand movies that you sell. ~ Adam Green
Project Japan quotes by Adam Green
People in Japan have experienced many tsunamis and various earthquakes throughout the ages. ~ Hayao Miyazaki
Project Japan quotes by Hayao Miyazaki
Authors may have very good reasons for staying out of character's minds. What is in their mind ought to be out in the world of their action anyway, just as in Real Life. Inside is already out there, and visible. It is also a reader's responsibility to imaginatively project the inner-lives of characters just as we have to imaginatively project the inner-lives of those most dear to us in Real Life. ~ Nathan "N.R." Gaddis
Project Japan quotes by Nathan
In 1969 the Khmer Rouge numbered only about 4,000. By 1975 their numbers were enough to defeat the government forces. Their victory was greatly helped by the American attack on Cambodia, which was carried out as an extension of the Vietnam War. In 1970 a military coup led by Lon Nol, possibly with American support, overthrew the government of Prince Sihanouk, and American and South Vietnamese troops entered Cambodia.

One estimate is that 600,000 people, nearly 10 per cent of the Cambodian population, were killed in this extension of the war. Another estimate puts the deaths from the American bombing at 1000,000 peasants. From 1972 to 1973, the quantity of bombs dropped on Cambodia was well over three times that dropped on Japan in the Second World War.

The decision to bomb was taken by Richard Nixon and Henry Kissinger and was originally justified on the grounds that North Vietnamese bases had been set up in Cambodia. The intention (according to a later defence by Kissinger's aide, Peter W. Rodman) was to target only places with few Cambodians: 'From the Joint Chiefs' memorandum of April 9, 1969, the White House selected as targets only six base areas minimally populated by civilians. The target areas were given the codenames BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER, SUPPER, SNACK, and DESSERT; the overall programme was given the name MENU.' Rodman makes the point that SUPPER, for instance, had troop concentrations, anti-aircraft, artillery, rocket and mortar positions, ~ Jonathan Glover
Project Japan quotes by Jonathan Glover
No great creative project can thrive (or even survive) off the energy of one person. ~ Scott Belsky
Project Japan quotes by Scott Belsky
It is notable how little empathy is cultivated or valued in our society. I put this down to our traditional racism and obsessive sectarianism. Even so, one would think that we would be encouraged to project ourselves into the character of someone of a different race or class, if only to be able to control him. But no effort is made. ~ Gore Vidal
Project Japan quotes by Gore Vidal
I miss my mother very much, and I feel closest to her when I have dinner in the oven and the children are nearby playing and I'm reading a book or doing some little project. ~ Caitlin Flanagan
Project Japan quotes by Caitlin Flanagan
So where should we go at it?' asked Bastian.
'Anywhere you want me,' I murmured, dreamily.
'Pardon?'
'Anywhere,' I said.
'Why don't we start in a familiar place, so we are not nervous our first time?'
I have to remind myself that this is real, and not part of the daydream. He's talking about the Storytelling Project. Not sex. ~ Megan McCafferty
Project Japan quotes by Megan McCafferty
It is astonishing that critical scholarship has asked forever about the identification of these store-house cities, but without ever asking about the skewed exploitative social relationships between owner and laborers that the project exhibits. The store-house cities are an ancient parallel to the great banks and insurance houses where surplus wealth is kept among us. That surplus wealth, produced by the cheap labor of peasants, must now be protected from the peasants by law and by military force. ~ Walter Brueggemann
Project Japan quotes by Walter Brueggemann
I have worked with this red all over the world - in Japan, California, France, Britain, Australia - a vein running round the earth. It has taught me about the flow, energy and life that connects one place with another. ~ Andy Goldsworthy
Project Japan quotes by Andy Goldsworthy
When you're picking up and moving, it does create ... well, I can sleep anywhere, which is really useful, it turns out, on movie sets. But what it really does is teach you how to adapt and change and fit into a new group or school, and that really is a lot like turning up to a new movie project and finding your place. ~ Amy Adams
Project Japan quotes by Amy Adams
I've just always loved really good projects. The things that draw me into a new project have very little to do with genre and have more to do with the characters I'll be playing, the people I'll get to work with and things like that. ~ Jewel Staite
Project Japan quotes by Jewel Staite
Many of us don't dream; more dangerously, many of us don't spend quality time thinking. We worry, yes, but we do not think. We don't project ourselves into the future. We don't utilize imagination. For many who do dream, what is lacking is the translation of the dream into reality and the tenacity to hold on to the dream when the going gets tough. ~ Nana Awere Damoah
Project Japan quotes by Nana Awere Damoah

My mother was really my partner in every project that I had. She was just the great enabler of my dreams. ~ Diane Keaton
Project Japan quotes by Diane Keaton
Sometimes it is claimed by those who argue that race is just a social construct that the human genome project shows that because people share roughly 99% of their genes in common, that there are no races. This is silly. ~ J. Philippe Rushton
Project Japan quotes by J. Philippe Rushton
Has given me no choice but to advocate for the termination of this project. ~ Greg Nickels
Project Japan quotes by Greg Nickels
Directors are our teachers, and I'm always craving to work with a great director. They're pretty much the first thing that interests me about a project. ~ Naomi Watts
Project Japan quotes by Naomi Watts
I think it would be great to make a $2 million or $3 million art movie where nobody would really have to go to it. I thought that would be a good project to work on ... do something really artistic. ~ Andy Warhol
Project Japan quotes by Andy Warhol
As a producer, I think one of the most important decisions you make is not necessarily the material you are working on but the production apparatus that you choose to develop the project with, and that determines what funding you go to, it determines many factors. ~ Atom Egoyan
Project Japan quotes by Atom Egoyan
A resource-poor country like Japan can only rely on people's endeavor and knowledge. I would like to continue my effort to provide help to younger people. ~ Akira Suzuki
Project Japan quotes by Akira Suzuki
I really am a recluse. I just enjoy watching the wind blow through the trees. In America someone who sits around and does that is at the bottom of the ladder, but in Japan, say, someone who goes up into the mountains is accorded great respect. I guess I am somewhere in between. I enjoy reclusion: it clears my mind. ~ Robert M. Pirsig
Project Japan quotes by Robert M. Pirsig
The reality we can accept is limited to our consciousness, after all. ~ Project Itoh
Project Japan quotes by Project Itoh
Perfectionism is a time waster - 20 percent of the effort you put into any project accomplishes 80 percent of the outcome - so this is a time to ask yourself when good enough is enough and then stop. ~ Mira Kirshenbaum
Project Japan quotes by Mira Kirshenbaum
So there is something perhaps more difficult to conceive of, sometimes born of resignation and sometimes not- a life in which not getting it is the point and not the problem; in which the project is to learn how not to ride the bicycle, how not to understand the poem. Or to put it the other way round, this would be a life in which getting it – the will to get it, the ambition to get it – was the problem; in which wanting to be an accomplice didn't take precedence over making up one's mind. ~ Adam Phillips
Project Japan quotes by Adam Phillips
In Japan, I took part in a tea ceremony. You go into a small room, tea is served, and that's it really, except that everything is done with so much ritual and ceremony that a banal daily event is transformed into a moment of communion with the universe. ~ Okakura Kakuzo
Project Japan quotes by Okakura Kakuzo
A child is asleep. Her private life unwinds inside skin and skull; only as she sheds childhood, first one decade and then another, can she locate the actual, historical stream, see the setting of her dreaming private life - the nation, the city, the neighborhood, the house where the family lives - as an actual project under way, a project living people willed, and made well or failed, and are still making, herself among them. I breathed the air of history all unaware, and walked oblivious through its littered layers. ~ Annie Dillard
Project Japan quotes by Annie Dillard
We were sent to this country by the President, who desires to promote the welfare of Japan, and are quite different from the ambassadors of other countries. ~ Townsend Harris
Project Japan quotes by Townsend Harris
In the short term, it would not have made it possible to resume relations, because in the Chinese mind, the humiliation of China started with the annexation of Taiwan by Japan. If the United States had suddenly declared Taiwan as a separate state - for which we would have had no support among other nations - the consequences would have been giving up our relationship with China and committing ourselves to a long-term conflict with China. ~ Henry A. Kissinger
Project Japan quotes by Henry A. Kissinger
What is the perfect amount of possessions? I think that most people don't know. If you have lived in Japan or the United States all your life, you have almost certainly been surrounded by far more than you need. This makes it hard for many people to imagine how much they need to live comfortably. As you reduce your belongings through the process of tidying, you will come to a point where you suddenly know how much is just right for you. You will feel it as clearly as if something has clicked inside your head and said, "Ah! This is just the amount I need to live comfortably. This is all I need to be happy. I don't need anything more." The satisfaction that envelops your whole being at that point is palpable. I call this the "just-right click point." Interestingly, once you have passed this point, you'll find that the amount you own never increases. And that is precisely why you will never rebound. ~ Marie Kondo
Project Japan quotes by Marie Kondo
We don't just have equipment to set up, we have a whole stage set: TVs tuned to static, a busted old Moog synthesizer (also tuned to static - it basically just sits onstage, drooling, like a demented robot friend), an ironing board we use as a percussion stand, lamps (because we prefer mood lighting to rock-show lighting), various car parts and kitchen utensils (for hitting), a movie screen we project slides onto and a pair of mannequin legs in a gold lamé miniskirt with a TV for a torso. All this may sound arty, but really, it's just overenthusiastic. ~ Kristin Hersh
Project Japan quotes by Kristin Hersh
From the streets of Cairo and the Arab Spring, to Occupy Wall Street, from the busy political calendar to the aftermath of the tsunami in Japan, social media was not only sharing the news but driving it. ~ Dan Rather
Project Japan quotes by Dan Rather
I think that 'Station to Station' is a nomadic project not only in a literal sense, as it's traveling by train from place to place. Some of these places are New York City or Los Angeles, but some of these places are rather off-the-grid places. ~ Doug Aitken
Project Japan quotes by Doug Aitken
It was as if - this something I thought of only later, of course - she was gently peeling back one layer after another that covered a person's heart, a very sensual feeling. ~ Haruki Murakami
Project Japan quotes by Haruki Murakami
I am uncomfortable talking about the things that I write. It seems unseemly to me. I have no problem at all when I see anybody else talking about the same project, but I feel my work should speak for itself. ~ Aaron Sorkin
Project Japan quotes by Aaron Sorkin
Bush's war in Iraq has done untold damage to the United States. It has impaired our military power and undermined the morale of our armed forces. Our troops were trained to project overwhelming power. They were not trained for occupation duties. ~ George Soros
Project Japan quotes by George Soros
People tell us the countries that we'll have the most difficulty with are France and Japan. They say, 'Nothing you do in the rest of the world will work for us.' But that's changing. The differences are narrowing. ~ Joe Tripodi
Project Japan quotes by Joe Tripodi
A diplomatic passport for a Tal Zahavi, with a current photo of Yael-1. The same birth date as in the other passport. The interior must have had fifty entry stamps for European and South American countries, plus the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. The woman traveled a lot. ~ John Sandford
Project Japan quotes by John Sandford
Also, I plan to screw something up on every movie I do so that I can learn from my mistakes and become a better director with each project. ~ Richard King
Project Japan quotes by Richard King
It's a bittersweet feeling because this [filming in Chronicles of Narnia] has been a part of my life for six years - from the age of 15 to 21. For anybody that's a big growing up phase, especially in the unique experience of Narnia. But I feel honoured to have been a part of it but the tools I learned from Narnia I'm now taking forward to my next project. ~ Skandar Keynes
Project Japan quotes by Skandar Keynes
Violet Markey, I'd like to be your partner on this project. ~ Jennifer Niven
