Plants are our food, oxygen, and medicine. Some even say they are one of the most pleasurable experiences on earth! From the flowers to the trees and the seas filled with coral dreams; the earth's natural flora has inspired and enhanced humans for as long as time can tell. That's why the power of plants is the key to unlocking our enjoyment of life. ~ Natasha Potter
Plant Medicine quotes by Natasha Potter

Plant Medicine quotes by Karen Rose
Often, people take herbal medicines for a physical response, but what they find is that the body also responds in an emotional way to the plant medicine that they're taking. ~ Karen Rose
Plant Medicine quotes by Karen Rose
If science is defined or understood as a mode of seeking knowledge, a means of interpreting nature in a way that can be demonstrated to others, then the plant-medicine traditions of the Amazon as they have been practiced constitute an authentic scientific discipline. ~ Jonathon Miller Weisberger
Plant Medicine quotes by Jonathon Miller Weisberger
Plant medicine does not just improve symptoms; it approaches healing the whole of the body - as opposed to Western medicine, which may just approach the symptom. ~ Karen Rose
Plant Medicine quotes by Karen Rose
Ayahuasca is a fickle mistress - she likes it when you put out for her, make a show of it, and put some effort in. But ayahuasca is also a plant medicine, and as such she reads you and what you need, and that changes every time, both as you progress on the path and as new issues come to light. Like a high maintenance girlfriend, the relationship with 'aya' can be hard work, but the rewards far outweigh the sacrifices. ~ Rak Razam
Plant Medicine quotes by Rak Razam
People in the U.S. are more cranked up on pharmaceutical drugs than any other culture in the world today. I want people using safer medicine. And that means plant medicine. ~ Chris Kilham
Plant Medicine quotes by Chris Kilham
When we do plant medicine, and we see love, we realize right then and there that it was never apart from us, that in fact it was a part of us. ~ Gerard Armond Powell
Plant Medicine quotes by Gerard Armond Powell
The key to all of your behaviors is hidden in a box that you can't open using normal tools, your subconscious needs a different recipe than the one you've been using. ~ Gerard Armond Powell
Plant Medicine quotes by Gerard Armond Powell
First time I died on Ayahuasca I was scared to death. And then, I realized that I was no longer afraid to die. It's quite a gift. ~ Gerard Armond Powell
Plant Medicine quotes by Gerard Armond Powell
If you or I want to be healthy (whether it's our digestion, our reproduction, our skin, or anything) we have to assume greater responsibility for our wellness. One of the best ways to do that is to be familiar with and to use on a regular basis, plant medicines. ~ Chris Kilham
Plant Medicine quotes by Chris Kilham
So Hosaka's built a regular little neurosurgery and staffed it with three hotshots. Two of them are company men, the third's a Korean who knows black medicine from both ends. ~ William Gibson
Plant Medicine quotes by William Gibson
A patient had a 50-50 chance of benefiting from visiting a physician as of 1910. Medicine was more like voodoo than science until the 20th Century. ~ Abraham Flexner
Plant Medicine quotes by Abraham Flexner
All the explanations proposed seem to be
only partly satisfactory. They range from massive climatic change to mammalian predation to the extinction of a plant with apparent laxative properties, in which case the dinosaurs died of constipation. ~ Carl Sagan
Plant Medicine quotes by Carl Sagan
What you see and what you hear depends a great deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are. ~ C.S. Lewis
Plant Medicine quotes by C.S. Lewis
Let us not say that we will decide on a political basis at the national level that no State is competent to regulate the practice of medicine in that State if they decide to allow a doctor to prescribe marijuana, because that is what we are talking about. ~ Barney Frank
Plant Medicine quotes by Barney Frank
Popular psychology is a mass of cant, of slush and of superstition worthy of the most flourishing days of the medicine man. ~ John Dewey
Plant Medicine quotes by John Dewey
You begin paying more attention to what you're seeing when you know the names ... If you don't know the names of plant and animal species that share your neighbourhood, you don't care about them and can't protect biodiversity. ~ Robert Bateman
Plant Medicine quotes by Robert Bateman
Oh, those lapses, darling. So many of us walk around letting fly with "errors." We could do better, but we're so slovenly, so rushed amid the hurly-burly of modern life, so imprinted by the "let it all hang out" ethos of the sixties, that we don't bother to observe the "rules" of "correct" grammar.

To a linguist, if I may share, these "rules" occupy the exact same place as the notion of astrology, alchemy, and medicine being based on the four humors. The "rules" make no logical sense in terms of the history of our language, or what languages around the world are like.

Nota bene: linguists savor articulateness in speech and fine composition in writing as much as anyone else. Our position is not - I repeat, not - that we should chuck standards of graceful composition. All of us are agreed that there is usefulness in a standard variety of a language, whose artful and effective usage requires tutelage. No argument there.

The argument is about what constitutes artful and effective usage. Quite a few notions that get around out there have nothing to do with grace or clarity, and are just based on misconceptions about how languages work.

Yet, in my experience, to try to get these things across to laymen often results in the person's verging on anger. There is a sense that these "rules" just must be right, and that linguists' purported expertise on language must be somehow flawed on this score. We are, it is said, permissive - perhaps a ~ John McWhorter
Plant Medicine quotes by John McWhorter
A dog came to my door, so I gave him a bone, the dog took the bone into the back yard and buried it. I'm going to go plant a tree there, with bones on it, then the dog will come back and say, "Shoot! It worked! I must distribute these bones equally for I have a green paw!" ~ Mitch Hedberg
Plant Medicine quotes by Mitch Hedberg
A plant needs roots in order to grow. With man it is the other way around: only when he grows does he have roots and feels at home in the world. ~ Eric Hoffer
Plant Medicine quotes by Eric Hoffer
If you want to be taken care and not to worry that's fine; you can join the rest of the cattle. Cattle are comfortable, that's how you recognize them. Just don't complain when they ship you off to the packing plant. They've bought and paid for the privilege. Now if you want to be free, then get this: freedom is not about being comfortable. It's about seizing and using opportunities, and using them responsibly. Freedom is not comfort. It's commitment. Commitment is the willingness to be uncomfortable. ~ David Gerrold
Plant Medicine quotes by David Gerrold
Keeping off a large weight loss is a phenomenon about as common in American medicine as an impoverished dermatologist. ~ Calvin Trillin
Plant Medicine quotes by Calvin Trillin
Hisako Arato...
... is an expert at medicinal cooking!"
MEDICINAL COOKING
Based on both Western and Eastern medicinal practices, it melds together food and pharmaceutical science.
It is a culinary specialty that incorporates natural remedies and Chinese medicine into recipes to promote overall dietary health.
"Besides the four traditional natural remedies, I also added Jiāng Huáng, Dà huí Xiāng, and Xiāo huí Xiāng...
... to create my own original 'Medicinal Spice Mix.'
Steeping them in water for an hour drew out their medicinal properties. Then I added the mutton and various vegetables and boiled them until they were tender. Some Shaoxing wine and a cilantro garnish at the end gave it a strong, refreshing fragrance. "
"That's right! Now that you mention it, there's a whole lot of overlap between medicinal cooking and curry. The medicinal herbs Jiāng Huáng, Dà huí Xiāng, and Xiāo huí Xiāng are commonly called turmeric, star anise and fennel! All three of those are spices any good curry's gotta have!"
"By basing her dish on those spices, she was able to tie her medicinal cooking techniques into the curry. That makes this a dish that only she could create!"
"Yes. This is my version of a Medicinal Curry...
It's called 'Si wu Tang Mutton Curry'!"
"I can feel it! I can feel the healing energies flowing through my body!"
"Delicious! The spices highlight the strong, robust flavor of the mutton perfectly! And the mild s ~ Yuto Tsukuda

Victory. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Plant Medicine quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche
The Nobel Prize is fine, but the drugs I've developed are rewards in themselves. ~ Gertrude B. Elion
Plant Medicine quotes by Gertrude B. Elion
My doctor gave me two weeks to live. I hope they're in August. ~ Ronnie Shakes
Plant Medicine quotes by Ronnie Shakes
Was the government to prescribe us our medicine and diet, our bodies would be in such keeping as our souls are now. - Thomas Jefferson ~ Thomas Jefferson
Plant Medicine quotes by Thomas Jefferson
We have so many alternatives, like kenaf. It produces more crop, it's hardier, and creates incredible paper products. Why are we deforesting for pulp and paper when we have a logical and efficient solution in plants like kenaf or bamboo? It doesn't make sense to me at all. I'm inviting anyone else who thinks the same to reach out and get involved with our think tanks around creating tree free alternatives ASAP. ~ Ian Somerhalder
Plant Medicine quotes by Ian Somerhalder
I wanted to say something about the universe. There's God, angels, plants ... and horseshit. ~ Zero Mostel
Plant Medicine quotes by Zero Mostel
My doctor gave me six months to live, but when I couldn't pay the bill he gave me six months more. ~ Walter Matthau
Plant Medicine quotes by Walter Matthau
The priests say the new dawn will be like the rain that fertilizes the soil before we begin to plant our corn. It will renew the natural cycle of life. The Mayan people will once again flourish. I believe in this very strongly. The holy men say we are entering a period of clarity. We are rediscovering our Mayan values. ~ Rigoberta Menchu
Plant Medicine quotes by Rigoberta Menchu
Your seeds of success won't grow unless you plant them. Intentions won't produce the results you want. ~ Clay Clark
Plant Medicine quotes by Clay Clark
When making choices, or setting policies about the economy, education or medicine, society is best served by electing people who are particularly hardworking, intelligent and interested in long-term thinking. ~ Bill Gates
Plant Medicine quotes by Bill Gates
The world today has 6.8 billion people. That's heading up to about nine billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care & reproductive health services, we could LOWER that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent. ~ Bill Gates
Plant Medicine quotes by Bill Gates
killed fifteen men when I was in combat. Yeah, he was a nurse. Couldn't read the label on the medicine bottle. ~ Peter F. Hamilton
Plant Medicine quotes by Peter F. Hamilton
For the coherent continuity of any one individual is much like a whirlpool in a river; it is "there" day after day, although the water itself never stays put. You could even say that there is no such thing as a whirlpool, but that the river is whirlpooling in the same way that the universe eyes and the plant flowers. ~ Alan W. Watts
Plant Medicine quotes by Alan W. Watts
Do not plant a weed and pretend surprise when it grows to strangle your garden. For, I tell you that to hate is to kill for from hatred grows death as surely as life grows from love. ~ Michael Grant
Plant Medicine quotes by Michael Grant
Fear plants the whisper to beware but doesn't look to see who's there. ~ Vanna Bonta
Plant Medicine quotes by Vanna Bonta
Creeping featurism is a disease, fatal if not treated promptly. There are some cures, but, as usual, the best approach is to practice preventative medicine. ~ Donald A. Norman
Plant Medicine quotes by Donald A. Norman
Robinson's discussion with God:

"Tell me what it's like."
"What what's like?"
"To be God."
"Like, how do you mean?"
"Like, how does it make you feel to know you've created the planet earth and all its inhabitants. Do you feel proud? Sad? Embarrassed? Humbled? Mortified?"
"The truth? I feel imposed upon. I feel like an exhausted father whose needy children never grew up. Do you know what I'd like to see? Honest to me, this would make me the happiest guy on earth. I'd like to see everyone just take responsibility for themselves. Stop seeking my favor with your expensive churches, synagogues, mosques and temples. And quit wasting your time expecting me to solve all your problems. Am I the numbskull who created all your stupid problems? No, all I ever did was plant a handful of seeds. I'm not the one who cheats, lies, plunders, steals, hoodwinks, bribes, and scratches and claws his backward way through the unfaithful to his loving spouse or who is disrespectful to his parents. And I'm not the one who rapes and pollutes oceans, mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes, deserts, and mesas. I'm not the one who's slaughtering all the whales in the seas, and I'm certainly not the one who's spreading AIDS, shooting innocent people with handguns and assault rifles, or overpopulating the planet. I'm not even responsible for acts of God. So what of the forest fires, earthquakes, hurricanes and tornados? You can thank dear Mother Nature for these so-called act ~ Mark Lages
Plant Medicine quotes by Mark Lages
By keeping my hand in that, it's the way I keep learning. The main way you learn in medicine is by practicing and working with patients. ~ Andrew Weil
Plant Medicine quotes by Andrew Weil
A closed plant is like a cemetery; it really is. The walls will talk to you; the machines will talk to you if you really talk to them. ~ Hamdi Ulukaya
