To this day, we get letters at Alternative Tentacles from young teenagers who hide their Dead Kennedys albums behind their mirror or in the mattress of their bed. Wouldn't it be better if the parents just discussed this with the kids instead of creating this culture of sneaking and dishonesty within the family? The moral of the story being, you don't hide reality from your kids because then they grow up to be smarter, more aware adults. ~ Jello Biafra
Moral Of The Story quotes by Jello Biafra
Well, the moral of the story, The moral of this song, Is simply that one should never be Where one does not belong. So when you see your neighbor carryin' somethin', Help him with his load, And don't go mistaking Paradise For that home across the road. ~ Bob Dylan
Moral Of The Story quotes by Bob Dylan
So the moral of the story
is that God hates vegetarians. ~ Cory O'Brien
Moral Of The Story quotes by Cory O'Brien
The moral of the story was that if you can talk, it's better not to tell the truth. ~ Louis De Bernieres
Moral Of The Story quotes by Louis De Bernieres
The reason I met my husband was because I remembered a friend's birthday. The moral of the story is: Remember people's birthdays. ~ Julianna Margulies
Moral Of The Story quotes by Julianna Margulies
But even if they could go home it would be difficult for me to tell you what the moral of the story is. In some stories, it's easy. The moral of "The Three Bears," for instance, is "Never break into someone else's house." The moral of "Snow White" is "Never eat apples." The moral of World War One is "Never assassinate Archduke Ferdinand." [ ... ] and as the Baudelaire orphans sat and watched the dock fill with people as the business of the day began, they figured out something that was very important to them. It dawned on them that unlike Aunt Josephine, who had lived up in that house, sad and alone, the three children had one another for comfort and support over the course of their miserable lives. And while this did not make them feel entirely safe, or entirely happy, it made them feel appreciative. ~ Lemony Snicket
Moral Of The Story quotes by Lemony Snicket
Because people aren't always as they seem and the moral of the story is the apple isn't always sweet. ~ Jasmine Sandozz
Moral Of The Story quotes by Jasmine Sandozz
Moon grew up, lost weight and became a famous singer, which proves that there is no justice in the universe, or that indeed, there is justice. Your interpretation of the denouement mostly depends on your race, creed, hair color, social and economic class and political proclivities -- whether or not you are a revisionist feminist and have a habit of cheering for the underdog. What is the moral of the story? Well, it's a tale of revenge, obviously written from the Chinese American girl's perspective. My intentions are to veer you away from teasing and humiliating little chubby Chinese girls like myself. And that one wanton act of humiliation you perpetrated on the fore or aft of that boat on my arrival may be one humiliating act too many.

For although we are friendly neighbors, you don't really know me. You don't know the depth of my humiliation. And you don't know what I can do. You don't know what is beneath my doing. ~ Marilyn Chin
Moral Of The Story quotes by Marilyn Chin
The moral of the story is not to listen to those who tell you not to play the violin but stick to the tambourine. ~ Jose Mourinho
Moral Of The Story quotes by Jose Mourinho
What's the moral of the story?

People Above will hurt you. People Above will break you, and devour your heart raw. ~ Leah Bobet
Moral Of The Story quotes by Leah Bobet
Every town has its secrets." He began. "San Felipe is no different. Skeletons are hidden in closets for a reason my friend. And trust me when I tell you, San Felipe has many skeletons. The moral of the story is; don't go snooping into strange closets. You will only find sins and betrayal. Why do you think we drink tequila so much? ~ Carroll Bryant
Moral Of The Story quotes by Carroll Bryant
So the moral of the story is that the primary ingredient for a successful nation is guns. ~ Cory O'Brien
Moral Of The Story quotes by Cory O'Brien
The moral of the story is that grief, to the person of feeling, is a permanent wound, not a transient state. ~ Micheal Korda
Moral Of The Story quotes by Micheal Korda
Okay, they were ogre children with little gray teeth,
but they were kids! They didn't do anything, not really.
Sure, when they played, they boiled their dolls then cut
them into bite-sized pieces. But that was make-believe.

Everybody says the moral of the story
is that short guys can be cunning
and brave.

But I think the moral is that children pay
for the sins of their parent. Ask anybody
who hates to go home after school.

Ask the girl whose mother is a drunk
and a whore. Ask the boy whose dad
is doing twenty-five to life. ~ Ron Koertge
Moral Of The Story quotes by Ron Koertge
The moral of the story is that seeking truth, rather than fear of pain or the desire for happiness, is the correct orientation toward inner work, since seeking happiness makes you its prisoner just as surely as does pain. ~ Sandra Maitri
Moral Of The Story quotes by Sandra Maitri
The moral of the story of the Pilgrims is that if you work hard all your life and behave yourself every minute and take no time out for fun you will break practically even, if you can borrow enough money to pay your taxes. ~ Will Cuppy
Moral Of The Story quotes by Will Cuppy
The moral of the story here is that if you're ever offered anything that seems like it might lead to sex, there is no turning back. You just have to take it as it comes or you will remain a virgin for life. ~ Bennett Madison
Moral Of The Story quotes by Bennett Madison
The moral of the story is: We thrive when we have a positive goal to move toward, not just a negative state we're trying to move away from. ~ Emily Nagoski
Moral Of The Story quotes by Emily Nagoski
The moral of the story is…Jeff is a moron. A baby axolotl can't fight a fish! You can't expect babies to do the things adults do. You can't expect anyone to do things they can't do. If you ask me to lift five hundred pounds, I can't. It doesn't matter how much I want to, how much conviction I put into it. It's just not something I can do. Maybe if I'd been training all my life, but not now, not tomorrow. ~ Sylvain Neuvel
Moral Of The Story quotes by Sylvain Neuvel
TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN'

begum Dil Afroze was a well-known opportunist who believed, quite literally, in changing with the times. When the Movement seemed to be on the up and up, she would set the time on her wristwatch half an hour ahead to Pakistan Standard Time. When the Occupation regained its grip she would reset it to Indian Standard Time. In the Valley the saying went, 'Begum Dil Afroze's watch isn't really a watch, it's a newspaper.

Q 1: What is the moral of the story? ~ Arundhati Roy
Moral Of The Story quotes by Arundhati Roy
I still have that drawing. Whenever I look at it, it makes me happy. That's the moral of the story. That's it. ~ David Levithan
Moral Of The Story quotes by David Levithan
The moral of the story is even though that seemed like the end of the world back then, right now I can look back on it and laugh. And if anyone is going through something similar right now just know it will get better. ~ Phil Lester
Moral Of The Story quotes by Phil Lester
The moral of the story is if some stupid idiot is trying to push you around, don't be afraid to show some attitude, stand your ground, and rock them like a hurricane. ~ Chris Jerico
Moral Of The Story quotes by Chris Jerico
The moral of the story is that once upon a time I wanted the whole world from everyone I met - sun moon stars, give me the whole thing, I want it now, I want it in perfect MLA style. And now? Now I know that the best you can ask of people is that they just - I don't know - that they just show up, do their part, treat people nicely, pay their taxes. Contribute something halfway decent to society. I'm not necessarily talking about contributing a dissertation, either. I'm talking about pulling you own weight and figuring out what it is you love and then doing it. Not just talking about it or waiting for someone else to do it for you, but actually honest-to-God doing the thing you're meant to do. ~ Sarah Combs
Moral Of The Story quotes by Sarah Combs
Dumpers are not inherently worse than Dumpees-breaking up isn't something that gets done to you; it's something that happens with you."
"And the other moral of the story is that you, Smartypants, just told an amazing story, proving that given enough time, and enough coaching, and enough hearing stories from current and former associates of Gutshot Textiles, anyone-anyone-can learn to tell a damned good story."
"Something about telling that story made my gut grow back together. ~ John Green
Moral Of The Story quotes by John Green
know that everything happens for a reason. You are where you're supposed to be. Anything worth having is worth fighting for. ~ Shelly Crane
Moral Of The Story quotes by Shelly Crane
And the moral of the story is I'm Thom Yorke. ~ Thom Yorke
Moral Of The Story quotes by Thom Yorke
The moral of the story is we're here on Earth to fart around. And, of course, the computers will do us out of that. And, what the computer people don't realize, or they don't care, is we're dancing animals. You know, we love to move around. ~ Kurt Vonnegut
Moral Of The Story quotes by Kurt Vonnegut
Moral of the story: try to get things right, figure out what's going wrong with the scenario, and don't give up. ~ Cody Lundin
Moral Of The Story quotes by Cody Lundin
Very hesitantly, the pheasant started pecking at the dung, and lo on the very first day it reached the first branch of the tree. In a fortnight's time, it reached the topmost branch of the tree. It just went and sat on the topmost branch and just enjoyed the scenery. The old farmer saw a fat old pheasant on the top of the tree. He took out his shotgun and shot him off the tree. So the moral of the story is: even bullshit can get you to the top, but never lets you stay there. [Everybody laughs] So ~ Jaggi Vasudev
Moral Of The Story quotes by Jaggi Vasudev
The moral of the story couldn't be clearer: you already know if your partner is fucking around behind your back, you just need to decide if you're done being a doormat. You need to wake up one morning and decide that those rose-colored glasses are so last fucking season. ~ Brandi Glanville
Moral Of The Story quotes by Brandi Glanville
Myths are supposed to teach us something, but what's the life lesson
in this sad tale of Orpheus? No good deed goes unpunished? Fuck that,
ain't no such thing as a good deed. Love conquers all? Never has, never
will. Maybe the moral of the story is that those in power are just as
fucked up as those who ain't and the worst thing a body can do is give up
his or her own power to some buttheads on Mount Olympus 'cause if they're
so fuckin' powerful, how'd they let us get away with all this shit in the
first place? Answer me that. ~ Augustus Hill
Moral Of The Story quotes by Augustus Hill
The moral of the story was not to wear a red shirt. Or go on away missions when you're the only one whose name isn't on the opening credits. ~ John Scalzi
Moral Of The Story quotes by John Scalzi
Sometimes opinions should kept to ones self, but not in appropriate situations. Be the judge of the appropriate situation, and be prepared for backfire. Moral of the story; if everyone doesn't agree, then prepare for them to lash out in disagreement. ~ Liam McGrath
Moral Of The Story quotes by Liam McGrath
The moral of the story: perceptions are everything. During each moment you are in contact with a customer, you are the organization. ~ Jan Carlzon
Moral Of The Story quotes by Jan Carlzon
My life is my life and I will live it my way.
Time has failed to limit me
My faith and perseverance
Has defined New-found happiness and success for me .
Moral of the story
Dare to live your dreams ~ Ilika Ranjan
Moral Of The Story quotes by Ilika Ranjan
One time I told her that she reminded me of that charming tale, the one with the red shoes."
Helen had always hated that story, in which a little girl who had dared to wear red shoes to her confirmation had been doomed to dance in them until she died. "You're referring to the one by Hans Christian Andersen? It's a morality tale about the wages of sin, is it not?"
His smile faded, and his gaze returned to hers, now appraising rather than dismissive. "I confess, I don't recall the moral of the story."
"No doubt it's been a long time since you've read it." Helen made her face into the inscrutable mask that had always annoyed the twins and provoked them to call her a sphinx. "The red shoes become instruments of death, after a girl yields to temptation. ~ Lisa Kleypas
Moral Of The Story quotes by Lisa Kleypas
The moral of the story is this: sometimes, to do nothing, to do nothing at all, is the sorriest thing ever. ~ Binnie Kirshenbaum
Moral Of The Story quotes by Binnie Kirshenbaum
Are things moral simply because God says so? Or does God give certain orders because they are inherently moral? This is the question at the core of Plato's Euthyphro dilemma, a problem that lies at the heart of religious debates about the divinity of moral authority (4). If morality exists separate from God's will, there is no reason to rely on God for moral behavior; one could have moral standards independently without divine feedback. On the other hand, if God creates morality simply by saying whether something is right or wrong, then that's not really morality; it's arbitrariness. Morality would become nothing more than the whimsy of a divine being blindly followed by humans. ~ Armin Navabi
Moral Of The Story quotes by Armin Navabi
And that, my dear children, is the moral of this chapter. I did not mean it to have a moral, but morals are nasty forward beings, and will keep putting in their oars where they are not wanted. And since the moral has crept in, quite against my wishes, you might as well think of it ... ~ E. Nesbit
Moral Of The Story quotes by E. Nesbit
In every life story, including our own, decisions are made in haste that determine the course of eternity. ~ Liz Curtis Higgs
Moral Of The Story quotes by Liz Curtis Higgs
Unfortunately, the author of a book pretty much gives up control of the story when the producers take over a book to make it into a movie. ~ Rodman Philbrick
Moral Of The Story quotes by Rodman Philbrick
Cat Rambo: Where do you think the perennial debate between what is literary fiction and what is genre is sited?

Norman Spinrad: I think it's a load of crap. See my latest column in Asimov's, particularly re The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I detest the whole concept of genre. A piece of fiction is either a good story well told or it isn't. The supposed dichotomy between "literary fiction" and "popular fiction" is ridiculous. Hemingway, Fitzgerald, Mailer, did not have serious literary intent? As writers of serious literary intent, they didn't want to be "popular," meaning sell a lot of books? They wanted to be unpopular and have terrible sales figures to prove they were "serious"?

I say this is bullshit and I say the hell with it. "Genre," if it means anything at all, is a restrictive commercial requirement. "Westerns" must be set in the Old West. "Mysteries" must have a detective solving a crime, usually murder. "Nurse Novels" must have a nurse. And so forth.

In the strictly literary sense, neither science fiction nor fantasy are "genres." They are anti-genres. They can be set anywhere and anywhen except in the mimetic here and now or a real historical period. They are the liberation of fiction from the constraints of "genre" in an absolute literary sense. ~ Norman Spinrad
Moral Of The Story quotes by Norman Spinrad
Writing a short story is a little like walking into a dark room, finding a light and turning it on. The light is the end of the story. ~ Dan Chaon
Moral Of The Story quotes by Dan Chaon
Written over the gate here are the words 'Leave every hope behind, ye who enter.' Only think what a relief that is! For what is hope? A form of moral responsibility. Here there is no hope, and consequently no duty, no work, nothing to be gained by praying, nothing to be lost by doing what you like. Hell, in short is a place where you have nothing to do but amuse yourself. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Moral Of The Story quotes by George Bernard Shaw
We were little children, four or five years old, but they were all around the house and they made us look epic, like we were part of some story being told. My mom would have this woman come to our house and take photos of us. She did a photo book of us as well when I was one. I still have it. ~ Jeff Vespa

Moral Of The Story quotes by Jack Kerouac
Brother, if any man thinks ill of you, do not be angry with him. For you are worse than he thinks you to be. If he charges you falsely on some point, yet be satisfied, for if he knew you better he might change the accusation and you would be no gainer by the correction.
If you have your moral portrait painted and it is ugly, be satisfied. For it only needs a few blacker touches and it would be still nearer the truth. "I will be base in my own sight." This was well said. Perhaps if David had carried it out more fully and had been rendered watchful thereby, it might have saved him from his great fall. A sense of electing love will render you base in your own sight. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Moral Of The Story quotes by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
I'm not one of these 'the characters write themselves; the story just fell out of me' kind of writers. Wish it was like that. ~ Markus Zusak
Moral Of The Story quotes by Markus Zusak
Life is like sex, baby - the more you put in, the more you get out. End of story. ~ Andrew Dice Clay
Moral Of The Story quotes by Andrew Dice Clay
What we do with our lives every day, whether at school, a desk job, or keeping the home in order, is our most basic opportunity to glorify God. That's what your role in His story looks like day in and day out. Instead of waiting to be offered a new role, play the current one well. ~ Trip Lee
Moral Of The Story quotes by Trip Lee
I was going to get the Carolyn Bessette story out of her one way or another. ~ Michael Bergin
Moral Of The Story quotes by Michael Bergin
The weird thing is that working within an established story was actually kind of liberating. You know the beginning and middle and end, more or less, so there's less pressure to figure all that out. ~ Dave Eggers
Moral Of The Story quotes by Dave Eggers
Auguste Comte, in particular, whose social system, as unfolded in his Systeme de Politique Positive, aims at establishing (though by moral more than by legal appliances) a despotism of society over the individual, surpassing anything contemplated in the political ideal of the most rigid disciplinarian among the ancient philosophers. ~ John Stuart Mill
Moral Of The Story quotes by John Stuart Mill
... we live in a purposeful world with a linear movement to a grand climax. Thousands of sub-plots unfold enroute to the great finale. Behind your life is an unseen and up fathomed blueprint where every experience is purposeful. Within this divine plan we are not robots, but responsible moral agents. We make choices and we are responsible for these choices. But God, in a way that you and I will never fathom, integrates into his plan our choices long before they are ever made. ~ Jim Andrews
Moral Of The Story quotes by Jim Andrews
His eyes trace the droplets branching down my chest.
They stop at my waistband.
"Brandon. Cutie."
"Yeah."
"You're still wearing your boxers."
"I am."
"Is there something you need to tell me?"
"No."
"Are you actually a Ken doll?"
"Nope."
"Is your dad a secret superhero and you have a bionic penis and you make up this big religious-paranoia back story because it shoots laser beams and has the strength of a bulldozer?"
"Yes."
"I knew it. ~ J.C. Lillis
Moral Of The Story quotes by J.C. Lillis
By integrating your implicit and explicit memories and by shining the light of awareness on difficult moments from your past, you can gain insight into how your past is impacting your relationship with your children. You can remain watchful for how your issues are affecting your own mood as well as how your kids feel. When you feel incompetent, frustrated, or overly reactive, you can look at what's behind those feelingsand explore whether they are connected to something in your past. Then you can bring your former experiences into the present and weave them into the larger story of your life. When you do that, you can be free to be the kind of parent you want to be. You can make sense of your own life, which will help your kids do the same with theirs ~ Daniel J. Siegel
Moral Of The Story quotes by Daniel J. Siegel
All the particular moral judgments we intuitively make are likely to derive from discarded religious systems, from warped views of sex and bodily functions, or from customs necessary for the survival of the group in social and economic circumstances that now lie in the distant past. ~ Peter Singer
Moral Of The Story quotes by Peter Singer
The main problem with those who deny the existence of God is not intellectual. It is not because of insufficient information, or that God's manifestation of himself in nature has been obscured. The atheists' problem is not that they cannot know God, rather it is they do not want to know him. Man's problem with the existence of God is not an intellectual problem; it is a moral problem." For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men - Rom. 1:18" ~ R.C. Sproul
Moral Of The Story quotes by R.C. Sproul
I Have been asked to tell you about the back of the north wind. An old Greek writer mentions a people who lived there, and were so comfortable that they could not bear it any longer, and drowned themselves. My story is not the same as his. I do not think Herodotus had got the right account of the place. I am going to tell you how it fared with a boy who went there. ~ George MacDonald
Moral Of The Story quotes by George MacDonald
The biggest challenge was trying to convey the story of the making of a film that isn't finished yet - and which won't be finished until the third film, The Return of the King, reaches our cinemas towards the end of 2003! ~ Brian Sibley
Moral Of The Story quotes by Brian Sibley
The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not all equivalent. The church's pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently. ~ Pope Francis
Moral Of The Story quotes by Pope Francis
Buddha's Wife tells a fascinating story, little known in the west, about the woman whom Buddha left behind. Gabriel Constans focuses the reader's attention on the strong and complicated women who surrounded Buddha and makes us re-think the nature of spiritual life. ~ Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
Moral Of The Story quotes by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni
Namely, if I am challenging the base of all these institutions, I'm challenging the moral code of altruism. The precept that man's moral duty is to live for others. That man must sacrifice himself to others. Which is the present day morality. ~ Ayn Rand
Moral Of The Story quotes by Ayn Rand
The following is a fictionalized and utterly false account of the events that most definitely did not happen on June 9-10, 1967. And yet, while all the characters in this story are little green men and women running around inside my head, the events that served as inspiration, the historical facts, as it were, must be considered no less than a sibling of the tale contained in these pages: the story I didn't write, but could have written--the book this could have been, but isn't. ~ Montague Kobbe
Moral Of The Story quotes by Montague Kobbe
This is one of the most suspect things about the game form: A game with an involving story and poor gameplay cannot be considered a successful game, whereas a game with superb gameplay and a laughable story can see its spine bend from the weight of many accolades - and those who praise the latter game will not be wrong. ~ Tom Bissell
Moral Of The Story quotes by Tom Bissell
Moral progress has consisted in the main of protest against cruel customs, and of attempts to enlarge human sympathy. ~ Bertrand Russell
Moral Of The Story quotes by Bertrand Russell
My story is the story of forgotten people and the voice of the voiceless. ~ Andrea Hirata
Moral Of The Story quotes by Andrea Hirata
Good writing arises out of obsession. With obsession there is emotional depth and a certain weight and gravity to the language and story. Without obsession I would be empty, and, literally, I wonder if I would even have any substance. The body is like a cathedral, and the cathedral needs music and prayer filling its grand spaces. Obsession turning over and over within the body creates music, prayer, substance that, although providing the depth, weight, and gravity I first evoked, also allows for lyricism, lightness, and flight up into the various arches and ellipses of the cathedral. Obsession is filled with slowness - and so obsession in my writing, for good or bad, doesn't come about because of an immediate intellectual idea or problem, nor a quick flash of inspiration. There's this slow energy at work, and I begin to become a part of that when I'm very close to silence. ~ Fred Arroyo
Moral Of The Story quotes by Fred Arroyo
Those on the left who scream about income gaps choose to focus on the success of those at the top rather than the failures of those at the bottom. They conveniently ignore that liberals are the ones who have pushed the moral relativisim and welfare-state dependence that has destroyed black families over the last 60 years. And it is these same liberals who fight to keep low-income kids in failing public schools and fight efforts to get school choice. ~ Star Parker
Moral Of The Story quotes by Star Parker
If you're an Orthodox believer, then what sustains this framework is the obligation that you follow. But if you live in a democratic, liberal world whose motto is: "Make choices and manage your choices according to what is good for you," then there is a built-in tension between that which connects and that which divides. Between the material and the intellectual or ethical. Materialism is not a dirty word, but in this tension between the individual and the material on the one hand, and the communal and the ethical on the other, we are at the end of an age in which the material and the individual are triumphing. ~ Kalid Gilad
Moral Of The Story quotes by Kalid Gilad
Think about your story in a new way,' the wise person says. 'You've been thinking of it as a loss. Now think of it as a liberation. What happened to you--it actually freed you up. And it didn't just free you up any old way. It freed you from some dead weight of the past so you could find a new home that would bring life to some part of you, maybe the best part of you. ~ Mira Kirshenbaum
Moral Of The Story quotes by Mira Kirshenbaum
Despite the proliferation of personal storytelling in recent years, and the shift in social conditions that has facilitated these stories being told and heard, there are still certain stories that cannot be told - either because we have no language with which to articulate them or because there is no interpretive community to hear and understand them. These stories become, instead, secrets and lies - stories that signal social isolation and disempowerment rather than connection and strength. One such story within contemporary culture, as the epigraphs from Dorothy Allison and Victoria Brownworth suggest, is the story of class - a story that often only becomes tellable as a lie, joke, or dirty secret. This is especially the case with the category of "white trash. ~ Annalee Newitz
