Gun Crime quotes by David Hemenway
Under President (George W.) Bush, prosecution of gun crimes was 30 percent higher than it is under President Obama. ~ Ted Cruz
Gun Crime quotes by Ted Cruz
If a law could keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of dangerous people, there would be virtually no gun crime at all. ~ Harry Browne
Gun Crime quotes by Harry Browne
Gun crime is a major cause of fear and distress throughout the UK. The problem is deeply entrenched in a wide range of social and cultural factors and therefore not an isolated issue. ~ Diane Abbott
Gun Crime quotes by Diane Abbott
As gun owners, my husband and I understand that the Second Amendment is most at risk when a criminal or deranged person commits a gun crime. These acts only embolden those who oppose gun ownership. Promoting responsible gun laws protects the Second Amendment and reduces lives lost from guns. ~ Gabrielle Giffords
Gun Crime quotes by Gabrielle Giffords
Nobody is denying we should investigate and do what we can to prevent gun crime in our cities and towns. But, we should not scapegoat the American gun owner for complicated, cultural problems we are just beginning to understand. ~ Bob Barr
Gun Crime quotes by Bob Barr
Not to our surprise, we discover that gun crime in Britain is up 10.9 percent since the disarmament of the private citizen. ~ Jeff Cooper
Gun Crime quotes by Jeff Cooper
My excellent colleagues have forgotten these bitter lessons of history. The prospect of tyranny may not grab the headlines the way vivid stories of gun crime usually do. But few saw the Third Reich coming until it was too late. The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed only for those exceptionally rare circumstances when all other rights have failed. A free people can only afford to make this mistake once. ~ Alex Kozinski
Gun Crime quotes by Alex Kozinski
Last summer, in London at least, the hoodie was transformed from a benign piece of leisurewear into a uniform for the disaffected, the angry, the malevolent. So much so that 'hoodie' was no longer a piece of clothing. It was a whole person. A hoodie was somebody likely to steal, plunder and do you unimaginable harm.

People were crossing the street when a hoodie crossed their path - even if it was a 70-year-old gentleman walking his dog. That's how quickly the fear had permeated the collective consciousness. And lifting the hood was tantamount to cocking a gun. ~ Mark Capell
Gun Crime quotes by Mark Capell
Knife crime and gun crime is poverty-driven, and poverty leads to insecurity. ~ Emmanuel Jal
Gun Crime quotes by Emmanuel Jal
Every study on crime and or firearms proves time and time again, that 99.99999% of American gun owners do not commit crimes or use our firearms in any dangerous or improper way. ~ Ted Nugent
Gun Crime quotes by Ted Nugent
As long as there are guns, the individual that wants a gun for a crime is going to have one and going to get it. The only person who's going to be penalized and have difficulty is the law-abiding citizen, who then cannot have [it] if he wants protection
the protection of a weapon in his home. ~ Ronald Reagan
Gun Crime quotes by Ronald Reagan
Crime is actually less in places where people own guns. Washington, D.C., is a case in point. It has the strictest gun laws, but who has the highest crime rate in the country? Washington, D.C. ~ Luke Scott
Gun Crime quotes by Luke Scott
Western governments ... will lose the war against dealers unless efforts are switched to prevention and therapy ... All penalties for drug users should be dropped ... Making drug abuse a crime is useless and even dangerous ... Every year we seize more and more drugs and arrest more and more dealers but at the same time the quantity available in our countries still increases ... Police are losing the drug battle worldwide. ~ Raymond Kendall
Gun Crime quotes by Raymond Kendall
Right now I'm wearing an illegal smile. ~ Waseem Latif
Gun Crime quotes by Waseem Latif
Not if we kill them - " I began, only to cut off when a sudden rushing noise filled the air. And Ray grabbed my gun and went ballistic on something on the wall over our heads.
"Die! Die! Die!" he screamed, emptying the clip and causing spent shells to rain down all around us. And okay, maybe I'd been wrong about the calm thing. Because he was just standing there, trembling and panting and staring
At the air-conditioning vent that he'd just shot the crap out of.
" - first." I took my smoking gun out of his limp fingers and patted him on the back. "See? That's the spirit. ~ Karen Chance
Gun Crime quotes by Karen Chance
The rhetoric of 'law and order' was first mobilized in the late 1950s as Southern governors and law enforcement officials attempted to generate and mobilize white opposition to the Civil Rights Movement. In the years following Brown v. Board of Education, civil rights activists used direct-action tactics in an effort to force reluctant Southern States to desegregate public facilities. Southern governors and law enforcement officials often characterized these tactics as criminal and argued that the rise of the Civil Rights Movement was indicative of a breakdown of law and order. Support of civil rights legislation was derided by Southern conservatives as merely 'rewarding lawbreakers.'
For more than a decade – from the mid 1950s until the late 1960s – conservatives systematically and strategically linked opposition to civil rights legislation to calls for law and order, arguing that Martin Luther King Jr.'s philosophy of civil disobedience was a leading cause of crime. ~ Michelle Alexander
Gun Crime quotes by Michelle Alexander
He saw trust. Complete trust. It was a gift, a precious one, and it humbled him. I've got you, Emeline. I will always be with you.

Dragomire to Emeline, Dark Legacy, Dark #27 ~ Christine Feehan
Gun Crime quotes by Christine Feehan
When one of my Japanese teacups is broken, I imagine that the real cause was not the careless hand of a maid but the anxieties of the figures inhabiting the curves of that porcelain. Their grim decision to commit suicide doesn't shock me: they used the maid as one of us might use a gun. ~ Fernando Pessoa
Gun Crime quotes by Fernando Pessoa
We may find in the long run that tinned food is a deadlier weapon than the machine-gun. ~ George Orwell
Gun Crime quotes by George Orwell
It's funny how human beings are so entertained by crimes. ~ Ludivine Sagnier
Gun Crime quotes by Ludivine Sagnier
The most servile Negroes are suspect, and every means is used to impress upon them the power of the White Citizens Councils. Even police brutality can be put to good use. An incident in Ruleville, Sunflower County, birthplace of the Council, will illustrate the point. Preston Johns, Negro renter on Senator Eastland's plantation near Blanc, is a "good nigger who knows his place." One day in May 1955, Preston's wife got into a fight with another Negro woman in the Jim Crow section of the Ruleville theater. The manager threw the women out and notified the police. While the police were questioning the women, Preston's daughter came up to see what was happening to her mother. Without warning, a policeman struck her over the head with the butt of his gun. She fell to the pavement bleeding badly. The police left her there. Someone went for her father. When he came up, the police threatened to kill him. Preston left and called Mr. Scruggs, one of Eastland's cronies. After half an hour, Scruggs came and permitted the girl to be lifted from the street and taken to the hospital.

When Scruggs left, he yelled to the Negroes across the street: "You'll see who your friend is. If it wasn't for us Citizens Council members, she'd have near about died." One old Negro answered back, "I been tellin' these niggers Mr. Scruggs and Mr. Eastland is de best friends dey got." A few days later, Senator Eastland came to Ruleville to look the situation over. Many Negroes lined the streets and ~ Bayard Rustin
Gun Crime quotes by Bayard Rustin
Parker looked distressed. He had confidence in Wimsey's judgment, and, in spite of his own interior certainty, he felt shaken.
"My dear man, where's the flaw in [this case]?"
"There isn't one ... There's nothing wrong about it at all, except that the girl's innocent. ~ Dorothy L. Sayers
Gun Crime quotes by Dorothy L. Sayers
I've seen villages in South America with no police whatever. Then the cops would arrive, then the sanitary inspectors, and before you know it they've got all the problems - crime, juvenile delinquency, the whole works - just like us. ~ William S. Burroughs
Gun Crime quotes by William S. Burroughs
If I had a brother who had been murdered, what would you think of me if I ... daily consorted with the assassin who drove the dagger into my brother's heart; surely I too must be an accomplice in the crime. Sin murdered Christ; will you be a friend to it? Sin pierced the heart of the Incarnate God; can you love it? ~ Charles Spurgeon
Gun Crime quotes by Charles Spurgeon
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli. That's from the original Godfather, ~ Stephen King
Gun Crime quotes by Stephen King
Since the state must necessarily provide subsistence for the criminal poor while undergoing punishment, not to do the same for the poor who have not offended is to give a premium on crime. ~ John Stuart Mill
Gun Crime quotes by John Stuart Mill
The greatest crime of welfare isn't that it's a waste of money, but that it's a waste of people. ~ Mark Steyn
Gun Crime quotes by Mark Steyn
Ernst Dwinger in his Siberian Diary
mentions a German lieutenant - for years a prisoner in a camp where cold and hunger were almost
unbearable - who constructed himself a silent piano with wooden keys. In the most abject misery,
perpetually surrounded by a ragged mob, he composed a strange music which was audible to him alone.
And for us who have been thrown into hell, mysterious melodies and the torturing images of a vanished
beauty will always bring us, in the midst of crime and folly, the echo of that harmonious insurrection
which bears witness, throughout the centuries, to the greatness of humanity. ~ Albert Camus
Gun Crime quotes by Albert Camus
We must urge a national dialogue on better methods of curbing preventable gun violence, and address the need for mental health awareness and access to psychiatric services in this country. ~ Charles B. Rangel
Gun Crime quotes by Charles B. Rangel
At the very same time that we witnessed the explosion of white celebrity moms, and the outpouring of advice to a surveillance of middle-class mothers, the welfare mother, trapped in a "cycle of dependency," became ubiquitous in our media landscape, and she came to represent everything wrong with America. She appeared not in the glossy pages of the women's magazines but rather as the subject of news stories about the "crisis" in the American family and the newly declared "war" on welfare mothers. Whatever ailed America--drugs, crime, loss of productivity--was supposedly her fault. She was portrayed as thumbing her nose at intensive mothering. Even worse, she was depicted as bringing her kids into the realm of market values, as putting a price on their heads, by allegedly calculating how much each additional child was worth and then getting pregnant to cash in on them. For middle-class white women in the media, by contrast, their kids were priceless, these media depictions reinforced the divisions between "us" (minivan moms) and "them" (welfare mothers, working-class mothers, teenage mothers), and did so especially along the lines of race. For example, one of the most common sentences used to characterize the welfare mother was, "Tanya, who has_____ children by ______ different men" (you fill in the blanks). Like zoo animals, their lives were reduced to the numbers of successful impregnations by multiple partners. So it's interesting to note that someone like Christie Brinkley, ~ Susan J. Douglas
Gun Crime quotes by Susan J. Douglas
The prisoner of doubt ends his stint [through suicide], released to the custody of that final question mark which punctuates every life sentence. ~ Dan Garfat-Pratt
Gun Crime quotes by Dan Garfat-Pratt
As an American I wanted to explore ... why are we the only first world country that still has capital punishment? Is it because we're too afraid to really examine the system, or is it because we really truly believe that this is the best way to deter future crime? ~ Jodi Picoult
Gun Crime quotes by Jodi Picoult
Ninety-nine point nine percent of the people that are gun owners are very responsible. ~ Jan Brewer
Gun Crime quotes by Jan Brewer
Arms in the hands of citizens may be used at individual discretion ... in private self-defense. ~ John Adams
Gun Crime quotes by John Adams
My folks wouldn't read a book if you put a gun to their dicks. but they read people all day long and always get it right. ~ Pat Conroy
Gun Crime quotes by Pat Conroy
The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. For nothing is more destructive of respect for the government and the law of the land than passing laws which cannot be enforced. It is an open secret that the dangerous increase of crime in this country is closely connected with this. ~ Albert Einstein
Gun Crime quotes by Albert Einstein

Gun Crime quotes by Kim Welsman
I've been in crime for a long time and I know that the actual move isn't the actual crime: the crime continues [afterwards]. ~ Ice-T
Gun Crime quotes by Ice-T
I crank the shower and it spits and steams. Then I stand in the water and when I cry, the tears wash away. The perfect crime ~ Sally Thorne
Gun Crime quotes by Sally Thorne
You learn to run by running. ~ Sheeja Jose
Gun Crime quotes by Sheeja Jose
Seditious libel is the doctrine that flourished in England during and after the Star Chamber. It is the hallmark of closed societies throughout the world. Under it, criticism of government is viewed as defamation and punished as a crime. ~ Harry Kalven
Gun Crime quotes by Harry Kalven
There are crimes that are truly uncomely. With crimes, whatever they may be, the more blood, the more horror there is, the more imposing they are, the more picturesque, so to speak, but there are crimes that are shameful, disgraceful, all horror aside, so to speak, even far too ungracious ... ~ Fyodor Dostoyevsky
Gun Crime quotes by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
The most tyrannical of governments are those which make crimes of opinions, for everyone has an inalienable right to his thoughts. ~ Baruch Spinoza
Gun Crime quotes by Baruch Spinoza
In the name of a greater civilization, we curse those who for the sake of their ambitious dreams, brought about the massacre of so many young lives. No matter how brutal the crime, you will always get glorification of its heroism and tradition from the eunuchs of bourgeois culture. ~ Amadeo Bordiga
Gun Crime quotes by Amadeo Bordiga
Six days, and I have eaten nothing. It is night. I am sitting in my chair. Ah, God! I wonder have any ever felt the horror of life that I have come to know? I am swathed in terror. I feel ever the burning of this dread growth. It has covered all my right arm and side, and is beginning to creep up my neck. To-morrow, it will eat into my face. I shall become a terrible mass of living corruption. There is no escape. Yet, a thought has come to me, born of a sight of the gun-rack, on the other side of the room. I have looked again - with the strangest of feelings. The thought grows upon me. God, Thou knowest, Thou must know, that death is better, aye, better a thousand times than This. This! Jesus, forgive me, but I cannot live, cannot, cannot! I dare not! I am beyond all help - there is nothing else left. It will, at least, spare me that final horror… … .
"I think I must have been dozing. I am very weak, and oh! so miserable, so miserable and tired - tired. The rustle of the paper, tries my brain[…] ~ William Hope Hodgson
Gun Crime quotes by William Hope Hodgson
No kingdom can be secured otherwise than by arming the people. The possession of arms is the distinction between a freeman and a slave. He, who has nothing, and who himself belongs to another, must be defended by him, whose property he is, and needs no arms. But he, who thinks he is his own master, and has what he can call his own, ought to have arms to defend himself, and what he possesses; else he lives precariously, and at discretion. ~ James Burgh
Gun Crime quotes by James Burgh
Tomorrow at 7, I shall be shot; but I am innocent of the crime of rebellion. I am going to die with a tranquil conscience. ~ Jose Rizal
Gun Crime quotes by Jose Rizal
Nightly you retrace your steps again to return to the scene of the crime. It's uncanny how you hover in the air of the wreckage that you left behind. ~ Aimee Mann
Gun Crime quotes by Aimee Mann
It gives us a look into a world that's very much like 'Traffic' was for drugs, this movie is for gun running. Dark at times, but I think Nic Cage is an incredible person to watch and very entertaining. ~ Jared Leto
Gun Crime quotes by Jared Leto
A gun is no more dangerous than a cricket bat in the hands of a madman. ~ Prince Philip
Gun Crime quotes by Prince Philip
Fixing a sneer on her face, she deliberately lowered her toolbox and let it fall with a terrible clatter. That he jumped like a rabbit under the gun pleased her.
"Christ Jesus!" he scraped his chair around, thumped a hand to his heart as if to get it pumping again.
"What's the matter?"
"Nothing." She continued to sneer. "Butterfingers," she said sweetly and picked up her dented toolbox again. "Give you a start, did I?"
"You damn near killed me. ~ Nora Roberts
Gun Crime quotes by Nora Roberts
There is nothing - no program, no hobby, no vice, no crime - that does not 'create jobs'. Tsunamis, computer viruses and shooting convenience store clerks all 'create jobs'. So that claim misses the plot; it applies to all so is an argument in favor of none. Instead of an argument on the merits, it is an admission that one has no such arguments. ~ Chris Horner
Gun Crime quotes by Chris Horner
He sidestepped down the alley and into another one connected to a small garage, where a raccoon with matching black eyes just like his own halted in mid-step next to a trash can.
They stared at each other, not moving or making a sound.
'There there, friend. I am not here to interrupt your nightly activity just as you are not here to interrupt mine.'
They continued their separate ways, who would be caught and who would not remained a mystery. ~ Jackie Sonnenberg
Gun Crime quotes by Jackie Sonnenberg
Men in Government monopolize the necessary use of force; they are not using their energies productively; they are not milking cows. To get butter, they must use guns; they have nothing else to use. ~ Rose Wilder Lane
Gun Crime quotes by Rose Wilder Lane

Gun Crime quotes by Michelle MacLaren
Morality begins at the point of a gun. ~ Mao Zedong
Gun Crime quotes by Mao Zedong
She'd thought a gun would fit easily into his hand, the way a gun did for a man who hung out in dim bars and smoky hotel rooms. But it didn't fit easily. It didn't fit at all. ~ Nora Roberts
