CIA Director George Tenet briefed a Senate panel ... about the current situation in Iraq. He described how cash was being stolen and women were being assaulted with impunity. Senators love to attend these continuing education seminars. ~ Argus Hamilton
Continuing Education quotes by Argus Hamilton
Home Economics & Civics
What ever happened to the two courses that were cornerstone programs of public education? For one, convenience foods made learning how to cook seem irrelevant. Home Economics was also gender driven and seemed to stratify women, even though most well paid chefs are men. Also, being considered a dead-end high school program, in a world that promotes continuing education, it has waned in popularity. With both partners in a marriage working, out of necessity or choice, career-minded couples would rather go to a restaurant or simply micro-burn a frozen pre-prepared food packet. Almost anybody that enjoys the preparation of food can make a career of it by going to a specialty school such as the Culinary Institute of America along the Hudson River in Hyde Park, New York. Also, many colleges now have programs that are directed to those that are interested in cooking as a career. However, what about those that are looking to other career paths but still have a need to effectively run a household? Who among us is still concerned with this mundane but necessary avocation that so many of us are involved with? Public Schools should be aware that the basic requirements to being successful in life include how to balance and budget a checking and a savings account. We should all be able to prepare a wholesome, nutritious and delicious meal, make a bed and clean up behind one's self, not to mention taking care of children that may become a part of the family ~ Hank Bracker
Continuing Education quotes by Hank Bracker
Pastors and ministry leaders need continuing education because the basics of their occupational challenges were not taught in their educational institutions. ~ Jimmy Dodd
Continuing Education quotes by Jimmy Dodd
The financial markets provide a never-ending continuing education course ~ Edward Yardeni
Continuing Education quotes by Edward Yardeni
A political life, I've often said, is a continuing education in human nature, including one's own. My involvement on the ground floor of two presidential campaigns and my duties as First Lady took me to every state in our union and to seventy-eight nations. In each place, I met someone or saw something that caused me to open my mind and my heart and deepen my understanding of the universal concerns that most of humanity shares. ~ Hillary Clinton
Continuing Education quotes by Hillary Clinton
In all your getting, get understand. Proverbs paraphrased ~ Katie Canty
Continuing Education quotes by Katie Canty
Christian education is a bomb with a long fuse - it takes a while to go off. ~ Howard G. Hendricks
Continuing Education quotes by Howard G. Hendricks
Most people can afford healthcare and education in the age group when both these things are not relevant. ~ D. S. Pandit
Continuing Education quotes by D. S. Pandit
Change your perception and be happy where you are, how you are, with whom you are. ~ Debasish Mridha
Continuing Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
Reality confounds image. ~ Peter Heather
Continuing Education quotes by Peter Heather
And when it comes to developing the high standards we need, it's time to stop working against our teachers and start working with them. Teachers don't go in to education to get rich. They don't go in to education because they don't believe in their children. They want their children to succeed, but we've got to give them the tools. Invest in early childhood education. Invest in our teachers and our children will succeed. ~ Barack Obama
Continuing Education quotes by Barack Obama
The happiest moment will be those moments when you give yourself in the service of others. ~ Debasish Mridha
Continuing Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
May you live in peace today and forever. ~ Debasish Mridha
Continuing Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
Being a doctor at Johns Hopkins does not make me any better in God's sight than the individual who has not had the opportunity to gain such an education but who still works hard. ~ Ben Carson
Continuing Education quotes by Ben Carson
Britain's continuing membership of the Community would mean the end of Britain as a completely self-governing nation ~ Tony Benn
Continuing Education quotes by Tony Benn
It seems to me the mark of a civilized society that certain privileges should be taken for granted such as education, health care and the safety to walk the streets. ~ Alan Bennett
Continuing Education quotes by Alan Bennett
I request America to look into our hearts and see that the great majority of us are not terrorists, but good and simple people. Our land is stricken with poverty because we are without education. - Syed Abbas ~ Greg Mortenson
Continuing Education quotes by Greg Mortenson
Everything humanity have achieved is achieved by dreams, desires, and actions. ~ Debasish Mridha
Continuing Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
In indigenous ways of knowing, it is understood that each living being has a particular role to play. Every being is endowed with certain gifts, its own intelligence, its own spirit, its own story. Our stories tell us that the Creator gave these to us, as original instructions. The foundation of education is to discover that gift within us and learn to use it well. ~ Robin Wall Kimmerer
Continuing Education quotes by Robin Wall Kimmerer
Every child should be given a strong start to their education. ~ Martin O'Malley
Continuing Education quotes by Martin O'Malley
They who refuse education to a black man would turn the South into a vast poorhouse, and labor into a pendulum, necessity vibrating between poverty and indolence. ~ Henry Ward Beecher
Continuing Education quotes by Henry Ward Beecher
There is divine beauty in learning ... To learn means to accept the postulate that life did not begin at my birth. Others have been here before me, and I walk in their footsteps. The books I have read were composed by generations of fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, teachers and disciples. I am the sum total of their experiences, their quests. And so are you. ~ Elie Wiesel
Continuing Education quotes by Elie Wiesel
One of the coolest things with the Internet is that it is used by the entire population - as part of education and just on a daily basis for communication. I think that has been one of the coolest technologies that has been developed. ~ Anousheh Ansari
Continuing Education quotes by Anousheh Ansari
Ahead in the distance we could see the main gate, but there was a sea of cars, none moving, people standing, milling around, waiting nervously, perhaps fearfully, as heavily armed MPs and military working dogs searched every square inch of every vehicle, searched every bag on every person, all the while keeping a vigilant eye on the long alley we were stuck in, and on the hundreds of rooftops that overlooked that alley, wary but aware that there were people out there who would gladly hurt us again if given the chance. ~ Tucker Elliot
Continuing Education quotes by Tucker Elliot
We shall reach our goal, when we have the power to laugh as we destroy, as we smash, whatever was sacred to us as tradition, as education, and as human affection. ~ Joseph Goebbels
Continuing Education quotes by Joseph Goebbels
Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan Press On! has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race. ~ Calvin Coolidge
Continuing Education quotes by Calvin Coolidge
Education is thus a most power ally of humanism, and every public school is a school of humanism. What can the theistic Sunday school, meeting for an hour once a week, and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of a five-day program of humanistic teachings? ~ Charles Francis Potter
Continuing Education quotes by Charles Francis Potter
The right to education should be protected, preserved and cultivated. The efforts to better the system are good. but they are not enough. We need to work together to change access and to also change how we are taught ~ David Sikhosana
Continuing Education quotes by David Sikhosana
If your attitude toward life is great, you will have a great life. ~ Debasish Mridha
Continuing Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
Public health service should be as fully organized and as universally incorporated into our governmental system as is public education. The returns are a thousand fold in economic benefits, and infinitely more in reduction of suffering and promotion of human happiness. ~ Herbert Hoover
Continuing Education quotes by Herbert Hoover
One of the critical issues that we have to confront is illegal immigration, because this is a multi-headed Hydra that affects our economy, our health care, our health care, our education systems, our national security, and also our local criminality. ~ Allen West
Continuing Education quotes by Allen West
By educating the young, we are building a liberating potential force indirectly. ~ Auliq Ice
Continuing Education quotes by Auliq Ice
The really useful education is that which follows the direction of the child's own instinctive interests, supplying knowledge for which it is seeking, not dry, detailed information wholly out of relation to its spontaneous desires. ~ Bertrand Russell
Continuing Education quotes by Bertrand Russell
Our modern lifestyle is not a political creation. Before 1700, everybody was poor as hell. Life was short and brutish. It wasn't because we didn't have good politicians; we had some really good politicians. But then we started inventing - electricity, steam engines, microprocessors, understanding genetics and medicine and things like that. Yes, stability and education are important - I'm not taking anything away from that - but innovation is the real driver of progress. ~ Bill Gates
Continuing Education quotes by Bill Gates
Not everyone has equal abilities, but everyone should have equal opportunity for education. ~ John F. Kennedy
Continuing Education quotes by John F. Kennedy
The best way to fight terrorism is to invest in education. Instead of sending weapons, send teachers. ~ Malala Yousafzai
Continuing Education quotes by Malala Yousafzai
Besides, come shells or high water in the shelter, we were going to continue our education. More important than anything else to our parents and leaders was that we be educated. Our ~ Brigitte Gabriel
Continuing Education quotes by Brigitte Gabriel
To put it simply, school readiness means creating in this country a public love of children. ~ Ernest L. Boyer
Continuing Education quotes by Ernest L. Boyer
The real wealth of the Nation lies in the resources of the earth soil, water, forests, minerals, and wildlife. To utilize them for present needs while insuring their preservation for future generations requires a delicately balanced and continuing program, based on the most extensive research. Their administration is not properly, and cannot be, a matter of politics. ~ Rachel Carson
Continuing Education quotes by Rachel Carson
One of the most terrible things about the English education System in Ireland is its ruthlessness ... it is cold and mechanical, like the ruthlessness of an immensely powerful engine. A machine vast, complicated ... It grinds night and day; it obeys immutable and predetermined laws; it is as devoid of understanding, of sympathy, of imagination, as is any other piece of machinery that performs an appointed task. Into it is fed all raw human material in Ireland; it seizes upon it inexorably and rends and compresses and remoulds ... ~ Patrick Pearse
Continuing Education quotes by Patrick Pearse
We saw one school-house in our walk, and listened to the sounds which issued from it; but it appeared like a place where the process, not of enlightening, but of obfuscating the mind was going on, and the pupils received only so much light as could penetrate the shadow of the Catholic church. ~ Henry David Thoreau
Continuing Education quotes by Henry David Thoreau
I didn't completed my University Education ~ Bill Gates
Continuing Education quotes by Bill Gates
The idea that the majority of students attend a university for an education independent of the degree and grades is a hypocrisy everyone is happier not to expose. Occasionally some students do arrive for an education but rote and mechanical nature of the institution soon converts them to a less idealic attitude ~ Robert M. Pirsig
Continuing Education quotes by Robert M. Pirsig
A teacher is a person who used to think he liked children. ~ Joey Lauren Adams
Continuing Education quotes by Joey Lauren Adams
Of course the no-government ethics will meet with at least as many objections as the no-capital economics. Our minds have been so nurtured in prejudices as to the providential functions of government that anarchist ideas must be received with distrust. Our whole education, from childhood to the grave, nurtures the belief in the necessity of a government and its beneficial effects. Systems of philosophy have been elaborated to support this view; history has been written from this standpoint; theories of law have been circulated and taught for the same purpose. All politics are based on the same principle, each politician saying to people he wants to support him: "Give me the governmental power; I will, I can, relieve you from the hardships of your present life." All our education is permeated with the same teachings. We may open any book of sociology, history, law, or ethics: everywhere we find government, its organisation, its deeds, playing so prominent a part that we grow accustomed to suppose that the State and the political men are everything; that there is nothing behind the big statesmen. The same teachings are daily repeated in the Press. Whole columns are filled up with minutest records of parliamentary debates, of movements of political persons. And, while reading these columns, we too often forget that besides those few men whose importance has been so swollen up as to overshadow humanity, there is an immense body of men - mankind, in fact - growing and dying, livin ~ Pyotr Kropotkin
Continuing Education quotes by Pyotr Kropotkin
Let us not forget Colby and the liberating effects of higher education. Though it doesn't liberate everyone, does it? ~ Richard Russo
Continuing Education quotes by Richard Russo
I perceive that it is far more practical to begin at the beginning and discuss theories. I see that the men who killed each other about the orthodoxy of the Homoousion were far more sensible than the people who are quarrelling about the Education Act. For the Christian dogmatists were trying to establish a reign of holiness, and trying to get defined, first of all, what was really holy. But our modern educationists are trying to bring about a religious liberty without attempting to settle what is religion or what is liberty. If the old priests forced a statement on mankind, at least they previously took some trouble to make it lucid. It has been left for the modern mobs of Anglicans and Nonconformists to persecute for a doctrine without even stating it. ~ G.K. Chesterton
Continuing Education quotes by G.K. Chesterton
As African economies boom and businesses are created, one of the big questions this growth raises is that of third-level education: how can Africa develop a knowledge infrastructure to rival that of the west, a sort of Harvard University in Africa? ~ Richard Attias
Continuing Education quotes by Richard Attias
If you've got an idea, act on it up to its perfection. ~ Debasish Mridha
Continuing Education quotes by Debasish Mridha
I went to college to study drama where I discovered I had no talent and after a period of dropping out majored in cultural anthropology which of course meant more masks and dancing ... I studied what interested me and so I had to become a writer because my education had left me unsuited for a decent well-paying job. ~ Elizabeth Hand
