By educating the young, we are building a liberating potential force indirectly. ~ Auliq Ice
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Auliq Ice
The real liberation dwells in the discipline. ~ Neeraj Agnihotri
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Neeraj Agnihotri
Man's dearest possession is life. It is given to him but once, and he must live it so as to feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, never know the burning shame of a mean and petty past; so live that, dying, he might say: all my life, all my strength were given to the finest cause in all the world--the fight for the Liberation of Mankind ~ Nikolai Ostrovsky
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Nikolai Ostrovsky
while the soul of mankind as a whole has become less savage, there still exists the seed of the blackest brutality in some of us. Number ~ Ryan Green
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Ryan Green
A man's word and his intestinal fortitude are two of the most honorable virtues known to mankind. ~ Jim Nantz
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Jim Nantz
Long reflection on the condition of mankind as people
sentenced to death only leads to the justification of crime. Ivan simultaneously hates the death penalty
(describing an execution, he says furiously: "His head fell, in the name of divine grace") and condones
crime, in principle. Every indulgence is allowed the murderer, none is allowed the executioner. This
contradiction, which Sade swallowed with ease, chokes Ivan Karamazov. ~ Albert Camus
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Albert Camus
Whenever a great thinker wants to make of himself a binding institution for future mankind, one may be certain that he is past the peak of his powers and is very weary, very close to the setting of his sun. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Friedrich Nietzsche
This idea of all education springing from and resting upon our relation to Almighty God-we do not merely give a religious education because that would seem to imply the possibility of some other education, a secular education, for example. But we hold that all education is divine, that every good gift of knowledge and insight comes from above, that the Lord the Holy Spirit is the supreme educator of mankind, and that the culmination of all education (which may at the same time be reached by a little child) is that personal knowledge of and intimacy with God in which our being finds its fullest perfection. ~ Charlotte M. Mason
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Charlotte M. Mason
The de-spiritualization of asceticisms is probably the event in the current intellectual history of mankind that is the most comprehensive and, because of its large scale, the hardest to perceive, yet at once the most palpable and atmospherically powerful. Its counterpart is the informalization of spirituality - accompanied by its commercialization in the corresponding subcultures. The threshold values for these two tendencies provide the intellectual landmarks for the twentieth century: the first tendency is represented by sport, which has become a metaphor for achievement as such, and the second by popular music, that devotio postmoderna which covers the lives of contemporary individuals with unpredictable flashes of inner emergency. ~ Peter Sloterdijk
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Peter Sloterdijk
Confess your sins to one another" (James 5:16). Those who remain alone with their evil are left utterly alone. It is possible that Christians may remain lonely in spite of daily worship together, prayer together, and all their community through service - that the final breakthrough to community does not occur precisely because they enjoy community with one another as pious believers, but not with one another as those lacking piety, as sinners. For the pious community permits no one to be a sinner. Hence all have to conceal their sins from themselves and from the community. We are not allowed to be sinners. Many Christians would be unimaginably horrified if a real sinner were suddenly to turn up among the pious. So we remain alone with our sin, trapped in lies and hypocrisy, for we are in fact sinners.
However, the grace of the gospel, which is so hard for the pious to comprehend, confronts us with the truth. It says to us, you are a sinner, a great, unholy sinner. Now come, as the sinner that you are, to your God who loves you. For God wants you as you are, not desiring anything from you - a sacrifice, a good deed - but rather desiring you alone. "My child, give me your heart" (Prov. 23:26). God has come to you to make the sinner blessed. Rejoice! This message is liberation through truth. You cannot hide from God. The mask you wear in the presence of other people won't get you anywhere in the presence of God. God wants to see you as you are, wants to be gracious to you. ~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
In the perspective of our species, life has favored humanity as a whole by promoting as much wealth of variety and options as possible, and has distributed everything using the four winds. Life has given mankind everything it has, without segregation and without consideration of which characteristic or quality best suits the situations or the periods.
Only by having the totality of human characteristics and options can we hope to deal with all periods to come.
Our collective is our key to survival and well-being. ~ Haroutioun Bochnakian
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Haroutioun Bochnakian
LIBERATION FROM BIRTH-AND-DEATH
Fulfil and complete everything from morning to evening, form birth to death. When you attain fkulfilment, you will be liberated from the cycle of birth and death. ~ Sirshree
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Sirshree
To speak or do anything that shall concern mankind, one must speak and act as if well, or from that grain of health which he has left. ~ Henry David Thoreau
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Henry David Thoreau
The divine reproach Jesus felt so exquisitely, because of His meekly standing in
for us, fulfilled yet another prophecy: 'Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full
of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for
comforters, but I found none' (Ps. 69:20). His heart was broken, as He did 'suffer
both body and spirit' (D&C 19:18). He trembled because of pain, and yet He,
amidst profound aloneness, finished His preparations, bringing to pass the
unconditional immortality of all mankind and 'eternal life for all those who would
keep His commandments (Moses 1:39). ~ Neal A. Maxwell
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Neal A. Maxwell
The beauty of the nature; it gives mankind splendour and glory. ~ Kristian Goldmund Aumann
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Kristian Goldmund Aumann
It is impossible for us, who live in the latter ages of the world, to make observations in criticism, morality, or in any art or science, which have not been touched upon by others. We have little else left us but to represent the common sense of mankind in more strong, more beautiful, or more uncommon lights. ~ Joseph Addison
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Joseph Addison
Machines never made mankind happy and never will make. He who is trying to make us believe this will claim that happiness is in the machine; but it is always in the mind. That man alone who is the lord of his mind can become happy, and none else. And what, after all, is this power of machinery? Why should a man who can send a current of electricity through a wire be called a very great man and a very intelligent man? Does not nature do a million times more than that every moment? Why not then fall down and worship nature? What avails it if you have power over the whole of the world, if you have mastered every atom in the universe? That will not make you happy unless you have the power of happiness in yourself, until you have conquered yourself. ~ Swami Vivekananda
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Swami Vivekananda
The popes have spoken of human ecology, closely linked to environmental ecology. We are living in a time of crisis: we see this in the environment, but above all we see this in mankind Man is not in charge today, money is in charge, money rules. God our Father did not give the task of caring for the earth to money, but to us, to men and women: we have this task! Instead, men and women are sacrificed to the idols of profit and consumption: it is the 'culture of waste.' ~ Pope Francis
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Pope Francis
It isn't pleasant to surrender to the hegemony of a nation which is still wild and primitive, and to concede the absolute superiority of its customs and institutions, science and technology, literature and art. Must one sacrifice so much in the name of the unity of mankind? ~ Czeslaw Milosz
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Czeslaw Milosz
It would be more consistent that we call [the Bible] the work of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind. ~ Thomas Paine
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Thomas Paine
They act as if they supposed that to be very sanguine about the general improvement of mankind is a virtue that relieves them from taking trouble about any improvement in particular. ~ John Morley
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by John Morley
The idea of God implies the abdication of human reason and justice; it is the most decisive negation of human liberty and necessarily ends in the enslavement of mankind both in theory and practice. ~ Mikhail Bakunin
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Mikhail Bakunin
The art of cookery is the art of poisoning mankind, by rendering the appetite still importunate, when the wants of nature are supplied. ~ Francois Fenelon
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Francois Fenelon
The lucky few who can be involved in creative work of any sort will be the true elite of mankind, for they alone will do more than serve a machine. ~ Isaac Asimov
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Isaac Asimov
One of the most pusillanimous things we of the female sex have done throughout the centuries is to have allowed the male sex to assume that mankind is masculine. It is not. It takes both male and female to make the image of God. The proper understanding of mankind is that it is only a poor, broken thing if either male or female is excluded. ~ Madeleine L'Engle
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Madeleine L'Engle
After a while he became disagreeably affected by the sight of the roadway thronged with vehicles and of the pavement crowded with men and women. He was in a long, straight street, peopled by a mere fraction of an immense multitude; but all round him, on and on, even to the limits of the horizon hidden by the enormous piles of bricks, he felt the mass of mankind mighty in its numbers. They swarmed numerous like locusts, industrious like ants, thoughtless like a natural force, pushing on blind and orderly and absorbed, impervious to sentiment, to logic, to terror, too, perhaps.
That was the form of doubt he feared most. Impervious to fear! Often while walking abroad, when he happened also to come out of himself, he had such moments of dreadful and sane mistrust of mankind. What if nothing could move them ? Such moments come to all men whose ambition aims at a direct grasp upon humanity -- to artists, politicians, thinkers, reformers, or saints. A despicable emotional state this, against which solitude fortifies a superior character. ~ Joseph Conrad
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Joseph Conrad
The energy that was buried with the rise of the Christian nations must come back into the world; nothing can prevent it. Many of us, I think, both long to see this happen and are terrified of it, for though this transformation contains the hope of liberation, it also imposes a necessity for great change. But in order to deal with the untapped and dormant force of the previously subjugated, in order to survive as a human, moving, moral weight in the world, America and all the Western nations will be forced to reexamine themselves and release themselves from many thing that are now taken to be sacred, and to discard nearly all the assumptions that have been used to justify their lives and their anguish and their crimes so long. ~ James Baldwin
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by James Baldwin
You'll notice that it is the haters of humanity who are always trying to reform it. They want to feel superior to the general run of mankind. ~ Taylor Caldwell
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Taylor Caldwell
My honors thesis project was my first interactive exhibit, in which two facing chairs were activated by a motion sensor when the viewer walked by. One was a cofortable armchair of plush red velvet, with a dildo sticking out of a hole in the seat. When activated, the dildo moved up and down and a strobe light pulsed. The facing chair was hard and uncomfortable, with spikes protruding from the seat, and when the viewer walked by it a dog would bark. The juxtaposition of the two chairs was meant to represent how forces of repression censor the desire for liberation.

In that same exhibition, I showed a handmade box in the shape of a cross, decorated with a beautiful painting of the Holy Trinity. The viewer was encouraged to open the box, where they would find a dildo wrapped in the American flag and nailed to a cross-- this was meant to symbolize the hypocrisy and repression that is hidden under the attractive facade of organized religion. The dildo was surrounded by pages from the Bible, which were themselves surrounded by images of the sickness and starvation caused by the embargo in Iraq, a comment on the effects of imposing one culture and religion on another. ~ Wafaa Bilal
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Wafaa Bilal
It has been the resolution of mankind in all ages of the world. No people, no age, ever threw away the fruits of past wisdom, or the enjoyment of present blessings, for visionary schemes of ideal perfection. It is the knowledge of the past, the actual infliction of the present, that has produced all changes, all innovations, and all improvements - not (as is pretended) the chimerical anticipation of possible advantages, but the intolerable pressure of long-established, notorious, aggravated, and growing abuses. ~ William Hazlitt
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by William Hazlitt
You can do anything you want. You don't believe me. You think, she's out of her head. Yeah, I'm out of my head- on being me. What are you on? On being them. You don't even know. I bet you were never given a chance to know ... Listen. You can be anything you want to be. Be careful. It's a spell. It's magic. Listen to the words ... You are anything ... everyone, anyone ... You listen to them, teachers, parents, politicians. They're always saying, if you steal you're a thief, if you sleep aroung you're a slut, if you take drugs you're a junkie. They want to get inside your head and control you with their fear ... Don't play their game. Nothing can touch you; you stay beautiful. ~ Melvin Burgess
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Melvin Burgess
The bulk of mankind are schoolboys through life. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Thomas Jefferson
Liberation from prevailing conventions of thought, feeling and behaviour is accomplished most effectively by the practice of disinterested virtues and through direct insight into the real nature of ultimate reality. (Such insight is a gift, inherent in the individual; but, though inherent, it can not manifest itself completely except where certain conditions are fulfilled. The principle pre-condition of insight is, precisely, the practice of disinterested virtues.) ~ Aldous Huxley
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Aldous Huxley
It is a false dichotomy to think of Nature and Man. Mankind is a factor in Nature which exhibits in its most intense form the plasticity of Nature. ~ Alfred North Whitehead
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Alfred North Whitehead
Judaism minimizes the distinction between body and soul. ... Judaism rejects that duality. First, it does not see death as liberation from earthly bondage and a graduation to a better world. It sees death as a tragedy. Death puts an end to a person's ability to sanctify the world. The death of a good person diminishes God's presence on earth. Second, Judaism does not see the material world, the world of food and sex and sleep and other bodily needs, as being less worthy than the realm of the spirit. Nothing created by God is vile or useless. Everything can be made holy or made base by the way in which it is used. The Talmud tells of one of the sages seeing workers cleaning and decorating a statue of the emperor and musing, "If that statue, which is an image of a flesh-and-blood king, is worthy of being cared for so carefully, how much more so my body, which is an image of the King of Kinds. ~ Harold S. Kushner
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by Harold S. Kushner
Imagination has brought mankind through the dark ages to its present state of civilization. Imagination led Columbus to discover America. Imagination led Franklin to discover electricity. ~ L. Frank Baum
Liberation Of Mankind quotes by L. Frank Baum
It would be a shame to lose the precious jewel of liberation in the mud of ignorant body building. ~ K. Pattabhi Jois
