When you're facing all the issues of life and you don't know what to do, accept the fact that you are human. We all are. We don't have the capacity to understand Almighty God. But you know what? We know Jesus Christ. He's the wisdom of God. And He put His Holy Spirit in us. So having access to the Holy Spirit and Jesus, we can face the challenges of today with the wisdom of God. ~ David Jeremiah
Wisdom Of God quotes by David Jeremiah
One never accomplishes the will of God by breaking the law of God, violating the principles of God, or ignoring the wisdom of God. ~ Andy Stanley
Wisdom Of God quotes by Andy Stanley
For when God said, "Let there be light, and there was light," if we are justified in understanding in this light the creation of the angels, then certainly they were created partakers of the eternal light which is the unchangeable Wisdom of God, by which all things were made, and whom we call the only-begotten Son of God. ~ Saint Augustine
Wisdom Of God quotes by Saint Augustine
For a Christian to say, "I will not have anything to do with the great and worthy works of artists whose lives were not good" is to fall into the impiety of questioning the wisdom of God in bestowing gifts of grace where He wills. ~ Frank E. Gaebelein
Wisdom Of God quotes by Frank E. Gaebelein
The wisdom of God is vaster than the wisdom of man. Failure to pay attention to it will have ramifications. ~ Alistair Begg
Wisdom Of God quotes by Alistair Begg
In order to be successful in a ministry, you need wisdom, the wisdom of God. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Wisdom Of God quotes by Sunday Adelaja
That which is now called natural philosophy, embracing the whole circle of science, of which astronomy occupies the chief place, is the study of the works of God, and of the power and wisdom of God in his works, and is the true theology. ~ Thomas Paine
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas Paine
Constance FitzGerald, a contemporary Carmelite authority on John's theology, points out John's assertion that this divine inflow is the "loving Wisdom of God." Specifically, she says, it is the active presence of Jesus Christ as Wisdom, as divine Sophia. Thus, "Dark night is not primarily some thing, an impersonal darkness like a difficult situation or distressful psychological condition, but someone, a presence leaving an indelible imprint on the human spirit and consequently on one's entire life."21 ~ Gerald G. May
Wisdom Of God quotes by Gerald G. May
If we want to obtain the wisdom of God, we have to be capable of fellowshipping with God on a spiritual level. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Wisdom Of God quotes by Sunday Adelaja
These things I continually see and feel, and am afflicted and oppressed with, yet the wisdom of God doth order them for my good; 1. They make me abhor myself; 2. They keep me from trusting my heart; 3. They convince me of the insufficiency of all inherent righteousness; 4. They show me the necessity of flying to Jesus; 5. They press me to pray unto God; 6. They show me the need I have to watch and be sober; 7. And provoke me to pray unto God, through Christ, to help me, and carry me through this world. ~ John Bunyan
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Bunyan
The best thing is to go from nature's God dawn to nature; and if you once get to nature's God, and believe Him, and love Him, it is surprising how easy it is to hear music in the waves, and songs in the wild whisperings of the winds; to see God everywhere in the stones, in the rocks, in the rippling brooks, and hear Him everywhere, in the lowing of cattle, in the rolling of thunder, and in the fury of tempests. Get Christ first, put Him in the right place, and you will find Him to be the wisdom of God in your own experience. ~ Charles Spurgeon
Wisdom Of God quotes by Charles Spurgeon
A few years ago you couldn't go from TV to film. It was like a 'no no' but I believe when you find a plan and purpose that God has for your life, there's not anything man can do to you. Especially when your faith is not really standing in the wisdom of man, you're really standing in the wisdom of God. ~ Derek Luke
Wisdom Of God quotes by Derek Luke
The Christian does not avoid sin to achieve salvation, but rather salvation brings him to a desire not to sin. The closer that one's spirit is synchronized with the holy knowledge of God, the more he comprehends how and why sin is destructive to himself and others in each and every circumstance. The dwindling desire for sin is a premature gift of Heaven - where there will be no sin, where all will, too, possess that full and complete wisdom; all will have perfect reasons not to sin. In this way, free will might still exist, but the shared wisdom of God will simply outwit all desires, impulses, and needs to sin. ~ Criss Jami
Wisdom Of God quotes by Criss Jami
It is plain to me that our prelates, in granting indulgences, do commonly blaspheme the wisdom of God. ~ John Wycliffe
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Wycliffe
The wisdom of God becomes active when a person out of the fear for the Lord throws himself completely into God. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Wisdom Of God quotes by Sunday Adelaja
With the goodness of God to desire our highest welfare, the wisdom of God to plan it, and the power of God to achieve it, what do we lack? Surely we are the most favored of all creatures. ~ A.W. Tozer
Wisdom Of God quotes by A.W. Tozer
I, as a human, do not become the power or love or wisdom of God; I merely contain Him who is all these, and everything. ~ Norman Grubb
Wisdom Of God quotes by Norman Grubb
Even the wisdom of God hath not suggested more pressing motives, more powerful incentives to charity, than these, that we shall be judged by it at the last dreadful day. ~ Francis Atterbury
Wisdom Of God quotes by Francis Atterbury
There are three things in the text. First, a gospel rejected - "Christ, crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block, and to the Greeks foolishness;" secondly, a gospel triumphant - "unto those which are called, both Jews and Greeks;" and thirdly, a gospel admired-it is to them who are called "the power of God; and the wisdom of God. ~ Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Wisdom Of God quotes by Charles Haddon Spurgeon
For, until the wisdom of men bear some proportion to the wisdom of God, their attempts to find out the structure of his works, by the force of their wit and genius, will be vain. ~ Thomas Reid
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas Reid
For Calvin, the creation reflects its Creator at every point. Image after images flashed in front of our eyes, as Calvin attempts to convey the multiplicity of ways in which the creation witnesses to its Creator: it is like a visible garment, which the invisible God dons in order to make himself known; it is like a book in which the name on the Creator is written as its author; it is like a theater, in which the glory of God is publicly displayed; it is like a mirror, in which the works and wisdom of God are reflected. ~ Alister E. McGrath
Wisdom Of God quotes by Alister E. McGrath
When we look at the cross we see the justice, love, wisdom and power of God. It is not easy to decide which is the most luminously revealed, whether the justice of God in judging sin, or the love of God in bearing the judgment in our place, or the wisdom of God in perfectly combining the two, or the power of God in saving those who believe. For the cross is equally an act, and therefore a demonstration, of God's justice, love, wisdom and power. The cross assures us that this God is the reality within, behind and beyond the universe. ~ John Stott
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Stott
The Wisdom of God Manifested in the Works of the Creation. ~ John Ray
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Ray
It is the heaviest stone that melancholy can throw at a man, to tell him he is at the end of his nature; or that there is no further state to come, unto which this seems progressional, and otherwise made in vain. Without this accomplishment, the natural expectation and desire of such a state, were but a fallacy in nature; unsatisfied considerators would quarrel the justice of their constitutions, and rest content that Adam had fallen lower; whereby, by knowing no other original, and deeper ignorance of themselves, they might have enjoyed the happiness of inferior creatures, who in tranquillity possess their constitutions, as having not the apprehension to deplore their own natures, and, being framed below the circumference of these hopes, or cognition of better being, the wisdom of God hath necessitated their contentment: but the superior ingredient and obscured part of ourselves, whereto all present felicities afford no resting contentment, will be able at last to tell us, we are more than our present selves, and evacuate such hopes in the fruition of their own accomplishments. ~ Thomas Browne
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas Browne
Therefore of necessity they must at first believe that Felicity is a glorious though an unknown thing. And certainly it was the infinite wisdom of God that did implant by instinct so strong a desire of Felicity in the Soul, that we might be excited to labour after it, though we know it not, the very force wherewith we covet it supplying the place of understanding. That there is a Felicity, we all know by the desires after, that there is a most glorious Felicity we know by the strength and vehemence of those desires. ~ Thomas Traherne
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas Traherne
The wisdom of man can only produce works on a human level. Only the Wisdom of God can realize things divine, and it is to divine heights that it destines us. ~ Father Jacques Philippe
Wisdom Of God quotes by Father Jacques Philippe
And in this I admire the wisdom of God, that He made me shy of women from my first conversion until now. Those shy of women know, and can also bear me witness, with whom I have been most intimately concerned, that it is a rare thing to see me carry it pleasant towards a woman: the common salutation of women I abhor; 'tis odious to me in whomsoever I see it. Their company alone, I cannot away with; I seldom so much as touch a woman's hand; for I think these things are not so becoming me. ~ John Bunyan
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Bunyan
'Mormonism' has made me all I am; and the grace, the power, and the wisdom of God will make me all that I ever will be, either in time or in eternity. ~ Brigham Young
Wisdom Of God quotes by Brigham Young
To the artist He is the one altogether lovely, and to the educator He is the master teacher. To the philosopher He is the wisdom of God, and to the lonely He is a brother; to the sorrowful, a comforter to the bereaved, the resurrection and the life. And to the sinner he is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin from the world. ~ John Gerstner
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Gerstner
How is it that artists keep their powers of perception even in the days when life darkens? he asked himself. Thinking about it and taking as his model Grandfather, an artist in religion who had given to its study the devotion and the hours of discipline that a violinist devotes to his instrument, he thought that their perception was born of the faculty of wonder, deepening to meditation and to penetrating sight and so strong that it could last out a lifetime. Grandfather wondered, all day and every day, at the wisdom of God and the beauty of the world, and Ferranti had wondered at the waste and pain and frustration of life. ~ Elizabeth Goudge
Wisdom Of God quotes by Elizabeth Goudge
Lehi, in counseling his son Jacob, makes a very challenging statement: "All things have been done in the wisdom of him who knoweth all things." (2 Ne. 2:24.) If I interpret this statement correctly, it means that one's wisdom is proportionate to his knowledge. This being so, how insignificant is the wisdom of man, which is based upon his limited mortal experience, when compared with the wisdom of God, which is based upon his knowledge of all things. ~ Marion G. Romney
Wisdom Of God quotes by Marion G. Romney
In all created things discern the providence and wisdom of God, and in all things give Him thanks. ~ Teresa Of Avila
Wisdom Of God quotes by Teresa Of Avila
In order to grasp the principles of spiritual growth, you need to be filled with understanding and the wisdom of God. ~ Sunday Adelaja
Wisdom Of God quotes by Sunday Adelaja
The very concept of evil challenges the wisdom of God because He would never create anything that is not desirable or not needed. Everything has been created in this world with a purpose. ~ Awdhesh Singh
Wisdom Of God quotes by Awdhesh Singh
But there are still many who continue to marvel at the wisdom of God in so planning the universe that big rivers run by great towns, and that death comes at the end of life instead of in the middle of it. Divest pleas ... of their semi-philosophic jargon, reduce his illustrations to homely similes, and he is marvelling at the wisdom of God who so planned things that the two extremities of a piece of wood should come at the ends instead of in the middle. ~ Chapman Cohen
Wisdom Of God quotes by Chapman Cohen
The setters up, therefore, and the advocates of the Christian system of faith, could not but foresee that the continually progressive knowledge that man would gain by the aid of science, of the power and wisdom of God, manifested in the structure of the universe, and in all the works of creation, would militate against, and call into question, the truth of their system of faith; and therefore it became necessary to their project, and this they effected by restricting the idea of learning to the dead study of dead languages. ~ Thomas Paine
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas Paine
For astronomy is not only pleasant, but also very useful to be known: it cannot be denied that this art unfolds the admirable wisdom of God. ~ John Calvin
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Calvin
Secrets of the incomprehensible wisdom of God, unknown to any besides Himself! Man, sprung up only of a few days, wants to penetrate, and to set bounds to it. Who is it that hath known the mind of the Lord, or who hath been His counselor? ~ Jeanne Marie Bouvier De La Motte Guyon
Wisdom Of God quotes by Jeanne Marie Bouvier De La Motte Guyon
You have heaven adorned, earth beautified, the sea populated with its own creatures, the air filled with birds which scour it in every direction. Studious listener, think of all these creations which God has drawn out of nothing; ... recognize everywhere the wisdom of God; never cease to wonder, and, through every creature, to glorify the Creator. ~ Saint Basil
Wisdom Of God quotes by Saint Basil
If anyone is going to see the gospel as true and good, satanic blindness and natural deadness must be overcome by the power of God. This is why the Bible says that even though the gospel foolishness to many, yet 'to those who are called ... Christ [is] the power of God and the wisdom of God' (1 Corinthians 1:24). The 'calling' is the merciful act of God to remove natural deadness and satanic blindness, so that we see Christ as true and good. The merciful act is itself a blood-bought gift of Christ. Look to him, and pray that God would enable you to see and embrace the gospel of Christ. ~ John Piper
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Piper
Even when we are frustrated by our inability to understand a circumstance or event, there are unseen angels bringing comfort and protection as directed by the wisdom of God. ~ Mary C. Neal
Wisdom Of God quotes by Mary C. Neal
Worry is refusing the given. Today's care, not tomorrow's, is the responsibility given to us, apportioned in the wisdom of God. Often we neglect the thing assigned for the moment because we are preoccupied with something that is not our business just now. How easy it is to give only half our attention to someone who needs us - friend, husband, or little child - because the other half is focused on a future worry.[14] Whenever you are tempted to dwell on fearful ~ Leslie Ludy
Wisdom Of God quotes by Leslie Ludy
Looking heavenward should be our lifelong endeavor. Some foolish persons turn their backs on the wisdom of God and follow the allurement of fickle fashion, the attraction of false popularity, and the thrill of the moment. Their course of conduct resembles the disastrous experience of Esau, who exchanged his birthright for a mess of pottage. And what are the results of such action? I testify to you today that turning away from God brings broken covenants, shattered dreams, and crushed hopes. Such a quagmire of quicksand I plead with you to avoid. You are of a noble birthright. Eternal life in the kingdom of our Father is your goal. ~ Thomas S. Monson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas S. Monson
What a scathing exposure! It was as if Jesus said, Listen, you say you want God, but your actions and words expose that you don't. You talk about God's judgment, but you did not willingly accept one who proclaimed it and called all of you to repentance. You say you long for the Messiah to come, but when He is here you search for reasons to reject Him. You are childish! If you had the wisdom of God, you would recognize His truth in the messenger sent to prepare the way for the Messiah and in the Messiah Himself. You have developed the miserable sickness of religious pretense and no longer desire what you prattle about aimlessly in what you pretend is prayer! ~ Lloyd John Ogilvie
Wisdom Of God quotes by Lloyd John Ogilvie
Let the Spirit be lacking, and there may be wisdom of words, but not the wisdom of God; the powers of oratory, but not the power of God; the demonstration of argument and the logic of the schools, but not the demonstration of the Holy Spirit, the all-convincing logic of His lightning flash, such as convinced Saul before the Damascus gate. When the Spirit was outpoured the disciples were all filled with power from on high, the most unlettered tongue could silence gainsayers, and with its new fire burn its way through obstacles as flames fanned by mighty winds sweep through forests. ~ Arthur Tappan Pierson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Arthur Tappan Pierson
The eternal wisdom of God ... has shown itself forth in all things, but chiefly in the mind of man, and most of all in Jesus Christ. ~ Baruch Spinoza
Wisdom Of God quotes by Baruch Spinoza
The Will of God" The will of God will never take you, Where the grace of God cannot keep you, Where the arms of God cannot support you, Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs, Where the power of God cannot endow you. The will of God will never take you, Where the spirit of God cannot work through you, Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you, Where the army of God cannot protect you, Where the hands of God cannot mold you. The will of God will never take you, Where the love of God cannot enfold you, Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you, Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears, Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you. The will of God will never take you, Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears, Where the Word of God cannot feed you, Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you, Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you. ~ Cherie Hill
Wisdom Of God quotes by Cherie Hill
What is the most valuable thing on earth? It's not the Hope Diamond, or the National Treasury. It's not a Picasso collection, or the Microsoft fortune. It is the wisdom of God, seen in the pages of your Bible. You've had access to it all along. ~ Rachel Olsen
Wisdom Of God quotes by Rachel Olsen
The wisdom of the world, while in many cases very valuable, is most valuable when it humbly bows to the wisdom of God. ~ Neil L. Andersen
Wisdom Of God quotes by Neil L. Andersen
The very essence of truth is plainness and brightness; the darkness and crookedness is our own. The wisdom of God created understanding, fit and proportionable to truth, the object and end of it, as the eye to the thing visible. If our understanding have a film of ignorance over it, or be blear with gazing on other false glitterings, what is that to truth? ~ John Milton
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Milton
Love is the foolishness of men, and the wisdom of God. ~ Victor Hugo
Wisdom Of God quotes by Victor Hugo
The Word of God is the wisdom of God. It makes no difference how educated you are, how many books you've read, or what you think you know in life, or about life; if you don't have the Word in you, you can't function in the wisdom of God. ~ Chris Oyakhilome
Wisdom Of God quotes by Chris Oyakhilome
The soul is like a glass lamp, and knowledge
Is light (-giving fire), and the wisdom of God is the oil.
If it is lit, you are alive,
And if it is darkened, you are dead, ~ Ibn Sina (Avicena)
Wisdom Of God quotes by Ibn Sina (Avicena)
The wisdom of God devised a way for the love of God to deliver sinners from the wrath of God while not compromising the righteousness of God. ~ John Piper
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Piper
I believe that we are just carriers of God's wisdom that he uses to refurnish the earth He created. You are carrying part of that wisdom in you. When it's time to offload it, do so with all passion! ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Wisdom Of God quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
The wisdom of the chess player is displayed more in winning over a capable opponent than a novice. The wisdom of the general is displayed more in defeating a superior army than in subduing an inferior one. Even more so, the wisdom of God is displayed when He brings good to us and glory to Himself out of confusion and calamity rather than out of pleasant times. ~ Jerry Bridges
Wisdom Of God quotes by Jerry Bridges
Spiritual maturity isn't seen in age but mentality and purpose. The insights of the soul is from the wisdom of God ~ Saviour
Wisdom Of God quotes by Saviour
When the children of God meet, angels also gather to hear the wisdom of God. So it is the duty of every believer, not to praise earthly men or leaders who come and go, but to praise God the Creator and Christ the Savior, who died for us in the cross. ~ The Voice Of The Martyrs
Wisdom Of God quotes by The Voice Of The Martyrs
The wisdom of God and the knowledge of His spiritual principles are accessible to the sons of God ~ Sunday Adelaja
Wisdom Of God quotes by Sunday Adelaja
To discover the 'traces of God' in nature does not indeed save us, but it does mane us wise, as tradition says; for we discover in the memory of nature a wisdom of existence and life which mirrors the wisdom of God, and for human civilization it is wise to co-operate with nature and to become integrated in it, instead of exploiting and hence destroying it in the interests of human domination. ~ Jurgen Moltmann
Wisdom Of God quotes by Jurgen Moltmann
The only obstacle is the absence of the knowledge in our minds of the wisdom of God that is able to move any mountain ~ Sunday Adelaja
Wisdom Of God quotes by Sunday Adelaja
Contemplate sweetly on love, and the wisdom of God shall find you. ~ Harold Klemp
Wisdom Of God quotes by Harold Klemp
There must necessarily be agreement between a reason coming from God and a revelation coming from God.46 Let us say, then, that faith teaches truths which seem contrary to reason; let us not say that it teaches propositions contrary to reason. The rustic thinks it contrary to reason that the sun should be larger than the earth. But this proposition seems reasonable to the scientist.47 Let us rest assured that apparent incompatibility between faith and reason is similarly reconciled in the infinite wisdom of God. ~ Etienne Gilson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Etienne Gilson
Wisdom - the wisdom of God - is the principal thing; therefore, get wisdom (Proverbs 4:7). ~ Chris Oyakhilome
Wisdom Of God quotes by Chris Oyakhilome
Today's marriages become toxic, with resentments, after only a few years. It's one thing to say, 'I forgive,' but most lack the enterprise to do the necessary work that follows. It was the day after that proved who had the wisdom of God and who didn't.
pg 46 ~ Michael Ben Zehabe
Wisdom Of God quotes by Michael Ben Zehabe
God in His answers to prayer often says "Yes." Sometimes He says "Wait." Often He says "No." In any case, His will is done, and true faith is to believe that what happened has happened for the best. If one does not take that attitude, he is setting his personal desire against the wisdom of God. Oftentimes we confuse with faith merely that which we desire. ~ Norman Vincent Peale
Wisdom Of God quotes by Norman Vincent Peale
The Constitution of the United States is a glorious standard; it is founded in the wisdom of God. It is a heavenly banner; it is to all those who are privileged with the sweets of liberty, like the cooling shades and refreshing waters of a great rock in a thirsty and weary land. It is like a great tree under whose branches men from every clime can be shielded from the burning rays of the sun. ~ Joseph Smith Jr.
Wisdom Of God quotes by Joseph Smith Jr.
The Christ within who is our hope of glory is not a matter of theological debate or philosophical speculation. He is not a hobby, a part-time project, a good theme for a book, or a last resort when all human effort fails. He is our life, the most real fact about us. He is the power and wisdom of God dwelling within us. ~ Brennan Manning
Wisdom Of God quotes by Brennan Manning
Marvelous is the love and fellowship of the flesh and the soul, of the spirit of life
and the mud of the earth: for the whole man may be said to be formed from these
two conjoined. For thus it is written: "God made man from the mud of the earth,
and breathed the breath of life into his face "[Genesis 2:7], giving him sense and
intellect, so that through sense he might vivify the clay associated with him, and
through intellect rule it; that likewise he might enter inwardly through the intellect
and contemplate the wisdom of God, and outwardly through the sense behold the
works of his wisdom. God illuminated the intellect from within but adorned the
sense without, so that the whole man might find recreation in both, namely felicity
within and enjoyment without. But since outward things cannot last long, man is
bidden to turn from the things without to the things within and to ascend from the
things within to the things above, that is to say from sense to imagination, from
imagination to reason, from reason to intellect, thence to mind or intelligence and
thus to God. ~ Robert Fludd
Wisdom Of God quotes by Robert Fludd
The wisdom of God is seen in making the most desperate evils turn to the good of his children. As several poisonable ingredients, wisely tempered by the skill of the artist, make a sovereign medicine, so God makes the most deadly afflictions co-operate for the good of his children. He purifies them, and prepares them for heaven. 2 Cor 4: I7. These hard frosts hasten the spring flowers of glory. ~ Thomas Watson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas Watson
But the Wisdom of God, which is His only-begotten Son, being in all respects incapable of change or alteration, and every good quality in Him being essential, and such as cannot be changed and converted, His glory is therefore declared to be pure and sincere. ~ Origen
Wisdom Of God quotes by Origen
May the strength of God pilot us, may the wisdom of God instruct us, may the hand of God protect us, may the word of God direct us. Be always ours this day and for evermore. ~ Saint Patrick
Wisdom Of God quotes by Saint Patrick
We say, that the Constitution of the United States is a glorious standard; it is founded in the wisdom of God. ~ Joseph Smith Jr.
Wisdom Of God quotes by Joseph Smith Jr.
As for Sono, she was trying to instruct him, to show how a man should treat a woman. The pride of the peacock, the lust of the goat, and the wrath of the lion are the glory and wisdom of God. ~ Saul Bellow
Wisdom Of God quotes by Saul Bellow
Children have the wisdom of God and are closer to it than many people who have spent years in this world gaining all kinds of knowledge about the nature of religion. Children have it naturally. ~ Harold Klemp
Wisdom Of God quotes by Harold Klemp
We live in what one writer has called the "age of sensation."' We think that if we don't feel something there can be no authenticity in doing it. But the wisdom of God says something different: that we can act ourselves into a new way of feeling much quicker than we can feel ourselves into a new way of acting. Worship is an act that develops feelings for God, not a feeling for God that is expressed in an act of worship. When we obey the command to praise God in worship, our deep, essential need to be in relationship with God is nurtured. ~ Eugene H. Peterson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Eugene H. Peterson
People perish not because of lack of faith; they perish because of lack of knowledge! Know yourself! ~ Israelmore Ayivor
Wisdom Of God quotes by Israelmore Ayivor
Remember that ofttimes the wisdom of God appears as foolishness to men, but the greatest single lesson we can learn in mortality is that when God speaks and a man obeys, that man will always be right. ~ Thomas S. Monson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Thomas S. Monson
Let the children learn to see in nature an expression of the love and the wisdom of God; let the thought of Him be linked with bird and flower and tree; let all things seen become to them the interpreters of the unseen, and all the events of life be a means of divine teaching. As they learn thus to study the lessons in all created things and in all life's experiences, show that the same laws which govern the things of nature and the events of life are to control us, that they are given for our good, and that only in obedience to them can we find true happiness and success. ~ Ellen G. White
Wisdom Of God quotes by Ellen G. White
The Glory of God, and, as our only means of glorifying Him, the salvation of human souls, is the real business of life. ~ C.S. Lewis
Wisdom Of God quotes by C.S. Lewis
God is so pure that if we were to behold Him within the context of our natural bodies, we would be destroyed because of the impurity of sin in our flesh that was genetically passed down to us through the sin of Adam and Eve. God purifies, or makes purely holy, everything He touches. That's right; the purification process of His total presence would destroy our natural bodies completely, because no good thing is in us. Isn't that a mystery? But then, it's a mystery to me how He made evergreens to stay green perpetually, or how fish spawn, or how birds sing so beautifully. We cannot put God in a box, or try to intellectualize His every facet. We would just sound pompous. ~ Marion Green
Wisdom Of God quotes by Marion Green
Every giant tree started its life journey being a Seed. Seed your mind today with beautiful thoughts and it will grow into a tree of wisdom ~ Mohammed Mushtaq GK
Wisdom Of God quotes by Mohammed Mushtaq GK
May you life be sparkle with love, joy and hope. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Wisdom Of God quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Helen Rosevere was a British medical missionary in the Congo years ago during an uprising. Her faith was strong and her trust was confident, yet she was raped and assaulted and treated brutally. Commenting later, she said, "I must ask myself a question as if it came directly from the Lord, 'Can you thank Me for trusting you with this experience even if I never tell you why?'" What a profound thought. God has trusted each of us with our own set of unfair circumstances and unexplained experiences to deal with. Can we still trust in Him even if He never tells us why? ~ Charles R. Swindoll
Wisdom Of God quotes by Charles R. Swindoll
Socrates said, our only knowledge was
"To know that nothing could be known;" a pleasant
Science enough, which levels to an ass
Each Man of Wisdom, future, past, or present.
Newton, (that Proverb of the Mind,) alas!
Declared, with all his grand discoveries recent,
That he himself felt only "like a youth
Picking up shells by the great Ocean-Truth." ~ Lord Byron
Wisdom Of God quotes by Lord Byron
I was only beginning to enter into the infinite subtlety of Gregorian chant. It was - and remains - the only public prayer I have ever been able to engage in without feeling like a phony and a jackass. But then, one day in 1965 or so, it was simply abolished. With a stroke of his pen, Pope John XXIII - who had such good ideas about other things - declared that liturgy would henceforth be in the vernacular language of the people. That was, effectively, the end of Latin chant.

Then all those monks and nuns who had devoted hours and hours a day began to sicken and fall into depressions, but nobody noticed for a long time. Maybe, as I can well believe, the music toned up their systems in some mysterious way. Or perhaps chant really was a language that God understood. Faced with numerous liturgical scholas shrieking away in the new vernacular hymns, Divinity may have covered its ears and withdrawn, leaving the monks to pine. We parish musicians, illiterate in anything written after the 13th century, stumbled around trying to score liturgies for guitar and bongo drums, trying to make sense of texts like "Eat his body! Drink his blood!"

It wasn't because the music got so bad that I quit going to Mass, but it certainly was the beginning of my doubts about papal infallibility. ~ Mary Rose O'Reilley
Wisdom Of God quotes by Mary Rose O'Reilley
Impossible is a word to be found only in the dictionary of fools. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Wisdom Of God quotes by Napoleon Bonaparte
Whoever is wise will heed to the word of God. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Wisdom Of God quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Perish each thought of human pride, let God alone be magnified. ~ Philip Doddridge
Wisdom Of God quotes by Philip Doddridge
But I give you my word, in the entire book there is nothing that cannot be said aloud in mixed company. And there is, also, nothing that makes you a bit the wiser. I wonder
oh, what will you think of me
if those two statements do not verge upon the synonymous. ~ Dorothy Parker
Wisdom Of God quotes by Dorothy Parker
Listen to them! How wholly infused with God is this one big word of love that we call the world! ~ John Muir
Wisdom Of God quotes by John Muir
From the base of the South Pass, a twisty road leads up the Rocky Mountains. It's a well-earned name, because the steep slopes are covered in giant rocks split open and turned on edge every which way, like God started a quarry and got distracted ~ Rae Carson
Wisdom Of God quotes by Rae Carson
Films are no longer concerned with the silence of God, but with the chattering of men. ~ Roger Ebert
Wisdom Of God quotes by Roger Ebert
The Church worked hard at it night and day during nine centuries and imprisoned, tortured, hanged, and burned whole hordes and armies of witches, and washed the Christian world clean with their foul blood. Then it was discovered that there was no such thing as witches, and never had been. One doesn't know whether to laugh or to cry. Who discovered that there was no such thing as a witch - the priest, the parson? No, these never discover anything. ~ Mark Twain
Wisdom Of God quotes by Mark Twain
...Rose of all Roses, Rose of all the World!
You, too, have come where the dim tides are hurled
Upon the wharves of sorrow, and heard ring
The bell that calls us on; the sweet far thing.
Beauty grown sad with its eternity
Made you of us, and of the dim grey sea.
Our long ships loose thought-woven sails and wait,
For God has bid them share an equal fate;
And when at last defeated in His wars,
They have gone down under the same white stars,
We shall no longer hear the little cry
Of our sad hearts, that may not live nor die. ~ W.B. Yeats
Wisdom Of God quotes by W.B. Yeats
Even God had a Welsh name : He spoke to him in the old language; He was to have a peculiar care For the Welsh people. History showed us He was too big to be nailed to the wall Of a stone chapel, yet still we crammed him Between the boards of a black book . ~ R.S. Thomas
Wisdom Of God quotes by R.S. Thomas
And you yourselves, ruling over your billions of neurons, what do you know about the impression of unity that is no more to be scorned than the rest of your experience? Listen, to be honest, I have the impression of living in a perpetual, universal fairyland, where things that can be explained are the exception. It seems to me that the normal is to the marvelous as the circle is to the ellipse: a specific instance, skimpy and impoverished, gutted of everything that makes conics powerful. Your ordinary trigonometry looks great next to these two focal points, the sine and cosine - both elliptical - whose relationship can only be expressed in a formula if you dare write in a little 'i', the sign of an imaginary number whose content you cannot imagine. Is the square root of -1 any more rational or thinkable than the action of a god on your soul? Both are proven by their effectiveness. ~ Georges Dumézil
Wisdom Of God quotes by Georges Dumézil
6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. ~ Anonymous

Feeling sorry for yourself is a universal solvent of salvation. ~ Paul Hoffman
Wisdom Of God quotes by Paul Hoffman
Jesus's death has infinite value because he's an infinite God; it was enough to cover all the sins of the world. If we say some sin is too terrible, then we're saying Jesus fell short in his mission. Grace is only grace if it's available even to the Duchs of the world. In fact," he said, straightening himself in his chair, "here's a difficult thing for us to comprehend: God loves Duch as much as he loves you and me. ~ Lee Strobel
