Sam and Dean Winchester sitting on the top of the Impala sharing their feelings over a beer is a reward worth driving any 'Supernatural' demon away - but in real life, they'd have crippling co-dependency issues. ~ Margaret Stohl
Winchester quotes by Margaret Stohl
Being deaf is not a weakness or it shouldn't be seen as one and that's what I wanted to get across that day. It's still what I want people to see. It's the same thing with the special needs kids. They are no different than I am, than anyone is really. Just because they might act in ways that 'normal' people don't or experience life in a different way, it doesn't make them wrong or less than anyone else. We're not weak or what's wrong with the world. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
The nature of catastrophe is, after all, reasonably unvarying in the way it ruins, destroys, wounds and devastates. But if something can be learned from the event - not least something as profound as the theory of plate tectonics - then it somehow puts the ruination into a much more positive light. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I do as much bookish research as I can but when I sit down to write, often I think, 'Wait, I was there.' That is one of the great advantages of having wandered around the world and lived in so many places and met such fascinating people. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
He had never before thought of himself as gullible. He wondered where he had gone wrong. It occurred to him that he had let himself be overawed - by bishop Henry and his silk robes, by the magnificence of Winchester and its cathedral, by the piles of silver in the mint and the heaps of meat in the butchers' shops, and by the thought of seeing the king. He had forgotten that God saw through the silk robes to the sinful heart, that the only wealth worth having was treasure in heaven, and that the even the king had to kneel down in church. Feeling that everyone else was so much powerful and sophisticated than he was, he had lost sight of his true values, suspended his critical faculties, and places his trust in his superiors. ~ Ken Follett
Winchester quotes by Ken Follett
Look, I don't need to feel like hell for failing you, okay? For failing you like I've failed every other godforsaken thing that I care about! I don't need it! ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
Thunderstick? ... You actually said, 'Thunderstick?' ... That, my friend is a Winchester 30.06. ~ Gary Larson
Winchester quotes by Gary Larson
You're only gonna get in trouble, so why even bother?"
"I bother because it's wrong. I bother because you don't deserve it. I bother because you fucking mean something to the girl I'm head over heels for and Eric, I bother because you mean something to me. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
The right thing. It's there in the way she says my name. It's music. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Major General Leonard Wood

Leonard Wood was an army officer and physician, born October 9, 1860 in Winchester, New Hampshire. His first assignment was in 1886 at Fort Huachuca, Arizona where he fought in the last campaign against the fierce Apache warrior Geronimo. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for carrying dispatches 100 miles through hostile territory and was promoted to the rank of Captain, commanding a detachment of the 8th Infantry.

From 1887 to 1898, he served as a medical officer in a number of positions, the last of which was as the personal physician to President William McKinley. In 1898 at the beginning of the war with Spain, he was given command of the 1st Volunteer Cavalry. The regiment was soon to be known as the "Rough Riders." Wood lead his men on the famous charge up San Juan Hill and was given a field promotion to brigadier general.

In 1898 he was appointed the Military Governor of Santiago de Cuba. In 1920, as a retired Major General, Wood ran as the Republican candidate for the presidency of the United States, losing to Warren Harding. In 1921 following his defeat, General Wood accepted the post of Governor General of the Philippines. He held this position from 1921 to 1927, when he died of a brain tumor in Boston, on 7 August 1927, at 66 years of age after which he was buried, with full honors, in Arlington National Cemetery. ~ Hank Bracker
Winchester quotes by Hank Bracker
Elizabeth waited until he had left and then promptly burst into laughter. She couldn't help it, she had been soaked, threatened by a skunk, attacked by a dog and now given a moral lesson by a man that had threatened her with a Winchester earlier.
She couldn't remember ever having a better day. ~ Grace Willows
Winchester quotes by Grace Willows
I was feeling like an old puzzle that someone put away, the kind that's missing pieces so it never gets looked at. It isn't until I came across the woman that now holds my last name that I see it clearly. She's the collection of pieces that are missing from my box. She completes it and turns it into the most beautiful picture. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
God save us from half the people who think they're doing God's work. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
Once upon a time in the dead of winter in the Dakota Territory, Theodore Roosevelt took off in a makeshift boat down the Little Missouri River in pursuit of a couple of thieves who had stolen his prized rowboat. After several days on the river, he caught up and got the draw on them with his trusty Winchester, at which point they surrendered. Then Roosevelt set off in a borrowed wagon to haul the thieves cross-country to justice. They headed across the snow-covered wastes of the Badlands to the railhead at Dickinson, and Roosevelt walked the whole way, the entire 40 miles. It was an astonishing feat, what might be called a defining moment in Roosevelt's eventful life. But what makes it especially memorable is that during that time, he managed to read all of Anna Karenina. I often think of that when I hear people say they haven't time to read. ~ David McCullough
Winchester quotes by David McCullough
Saving people, hunting things, the family business. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
I don't hero worship for the sake of hero worship. When I find people who are truly remarkable - and I think Joseph Needham is a classic example - I do value their counsel. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
Have they even seen the Winchester boys? Sammy and Dean's existence proves there is a god and she is a woman. ~ Darynda Jones
Winchester quotes by Darynda Jones
Every once in a bestseller list, you come across a truly exceptional craftsman, a wordsmith so adept at cutting, shaping, and honing strings of words that you find yourself holding your breath while those words pass from page to eye to brain. You know the feeling: you inhale, hold it, then slowly let it out, like one about to take down a bull moose with a Winchester .30-06. You force your mind to the task, scope out the area, take penetrating aim, and ... read.
But instead of dropping the quarry, you find you've become the hunted, the target. The projectile has somehow boomeranged and with its heat-sensing abilities (you have raised a sweat) darts straight towards you. Duck! And turn the page lest it drill between your eyes. ~ Chila Woychik
Winchester quotes by Chila Woychik
Coach told me once, when I was too busy screwing around to pay attention that the only way he could get through to me, make me hear him was to spell everything out. I wanted you to hear me. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Hell had been his Vietnam. It had stamped its mark on him for all eternity, and no amount of denial or self-imposed ignorance was going to change it. Ever. ~ Joe Schreiber
Winchester quotes by Joe Schreiber
Honestly, I think the world is gonna end bloody. But it doesn't mean we shouldn't fight. we do have choices. I choose to go swingin. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
There's this small flicker in time when you're looking down the barrel of a gun and instead of your life flashing before your eyes, it's all the moments you missed out on. ~ Melyssa Winchester

Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
The northeast trade winds that blow at a steady fifteen knots onto the cliffs and reefs of the islands' lee shores produce endless trains of eminently glidable waves. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I find the science behind major natural events almost more interesting than the way in which those same events wreak their effects on human society. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
The very name Impressionism is taken from an Atlantic Ocean painting - that of Monet, of sunrise in the harbor of Le Havre, done in 1872. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
You own every piece of me, Cadence Taylor, and if you let me, I'll spend the rest of my life proving to you that you're the only thing left worth fighting for. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Dean, you've been to Hell, I started the Apocalypse, and we're supposed to be possessed by an archangel and the devil. Now you're being skeptical? ~ Keith R.A. DeCandido
Winchester quotes by Keith R.A. DeCandido
I've heard some strange noises every once in a while late at night and always wondered if the house is haunted. I bet it is. I bet that freaky little fucker wants to watch us have sex. Fine with me, buddy, enjoy the show. Just don't touch my ass at all during the event or I will call the Winchester brothers from Supernatural. Dean and Sam will fuck you up! I had a strange hand touch my ass one time in college during a threesome, and that's just something you don't get over. Random ass touching scares me more than spiders. ~ Tara Sivec
Winchester quotes by Tara Sivec
To be perfectly honest the old habits, specifically deadlines, still very much inform what I do. I am brutally disciplined about getting manuscripts in on time. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
The lesson this teaches and which every Afro-American should ponder well, is that a Winchester rifle should have a place of honor in every black home, and it should be used for that protection which the law refuses to give. When the white man who is always the aggressor knows he runs as great a risk of biting the dust every time his Afro-American victim does, he will have greater respect for Afro-American life. The more the Afro-American yields and cringes and begs, the more he has to do so, the more he is insulted, outraged and lynched. ~ Ida B. Wells
Winchester quotes by Ida B. Wells
Well, I think I learned a valuable lesson. Always take down your Christmas decorations after new years or you might get filleted by a hooker from God. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
I can't believe you brought me here to see some guy who heals people out of a tent! ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
I'm not gonna die in a hospital where the nurses aren't even hot. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
Driver picks the music, shotgun shuts his cakehole. ~ Eric Kripke
Winchester quotes by Eric Kripke
All of those broken bones in northern Japan, all of those broken lives and those broken homes prompt us to remember what in calmer times we are invariably minded to forget: the most stern and chilling of mantras, which holds, quite simply, that mankind inhabits this earth subject to geological consent - which can be withdrawn at any time. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
You can't change ignorance by beating a hole into someone's face. Doing that only makes you as ignorant as they are. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
The first vehicle was an unmanned two-ton, hundred-thousand-dollar steel-caged contraption named ANGUS (for Acoustically Navigated Geophysical Underwater System), which had powerful strobe lights, a collection of thermometers, and, most critically, high-definition cameras. Late ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I was worthy before. Maybe with him I can be worthy again. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
It's like Sheriff Daniels sneezed, and they all caught the misinformation flu. ~ Joe Schreiber
Winchester quotes by Joe Schreiber
But those who initially went to the West were overtaken by the barbarism of the frontier with astonishing speed - think Lord of the Flies or Heart of Darkness. There was murder, mayhem, robbery, alcoholism, depression, and suicide, and all of it on a positively Homeric scale that still has cultural anthropologists enraptured. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
Please accept this sandwich as a gesture of solidarity. ~ Castiel
Winchester quotes by Castiel
Always keep fighting ~ Jared Padalecki
Winchester quotes by Jared Padalecki
At some point we all have to grow up. Sure, high school might be the best years of our lives the way people say, but when that's over what are we gonna have? An old football career if we don't play college ball and a whole lot of broken people on our conscience. I don't want that.
Maybe there's hope for me after all. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Experiencing what we did with Lucifer taught me so much. Things I will take with me forever, even when my human life is over. I've seen the dark side of life now. How one single event can change the course of forever and turn you into something you never believed you could be. It's what you do when you notice the change that matters. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
He might have gotten his way in the hallway earlier, but now he's on my turf. He isn't gonna push me around. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
I wish she had half a clue what seeing that happy face does for me. I can't quite explain it to myself, but I really wish she could know. It's like when she does it, it's all I can see and I want more of it. Especially after the day we've had. I always want her making happy faces. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
I guess that's what happens when you've lost everything that had any real meaning. You become numb to what's left. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
No critic and advocate of immutability has ever once managed properly or even marginally to outwit the English language's capacity for foxy and relentlessly slippery flexibility. For English is a language that simply cannot be fixed, not can its use ever be absolutely laid down. It changes constantly; it grows with an almost exponential joy. It evolves eternally; its words alter their senses and their meanings subtly, slowly, or speedily according to fashion and need. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I was slight in frame and lacked the instant authoritarian standing that a Winchester did. ~ Jon Bassoff
Winchester quotes by Jon Bassoff

Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
God - who in that part of London society was of course firmly held to be an Englishman - naturally approved the spread of the language as an essential imperial device; ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
His name was Winchester. John Winchester. ~ Christa Faust
Winchester quotes by Christa Faust
You never got her last name, did you?" Kayden asks, covering his mouth with his hand to try and hide a laugh. The one that still breaks through and makes the urge to hit him even worse.
"It didn't seem important. You wanna clue me in?"
"Taylor. Cadence Taylor. Dumbass. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
The sad reality is, it's not just the people I go to school with that are doing it. It's their parents too. Their noses are all turned up at me, like because of my diagnosis; I'm an alien to them. I'm not like their son or daughter so that means I'm not worthy of respect. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
If Isabelle Reagan can take a guy like me and turn him into someone worthy of respect then it's mind blowing to think what she can do for the rest of the world. What we could do for it together. We might be able to change it. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
You might look like a princess, Isabelle Reagan, but if I had my way tonight, you'd also be a queen. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Amelia changed me. She made me believe in something again. She made me believe in her. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
It doesn't matter to them that we didn't ask to be the way we are; that some of us were born this way and we're only trying to get along and survive like everyone else. No, instead they've got to go out of their way to call attention to the things that set us apart from them instead of embracing the ways we're the same. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
That night, when you kissed me, I thought you did it because you were drinking. All I could focus on was getting you home before you did something you'd regret in the morning. I didn't want to be your regret, Serenity. My heart couldn't handle it. Shit, it's been two years and my heart still can't handle the fact that we don't talk anymore. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester

Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Dad had this story. A Marine and a Navy guy walk into a bathroom together. They both take a piss, and then sailor goes to the sink. The Marine heads for the door, and the sailor says, "Hey- in the Navy they teach us to wash up after we take a leak." And the Marine turns around and says, "Yeah? Well, in the Marines they teach us not to piss on our hands. ~ Keith R.A. DeCandido
Winchester quotes by Keith R.A. DeCandido
So research is a terribly imperfect science, and you learn an awful lot more after you've published a book, because people keep writing to you and saying, 'Oh, gosh, I was related to such and such a character and I have a letter in my possession.' ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
This time, whatever you're gonna do, make sure it's for keeps. You might be able to threaten those guys into leaving us alone, but you won't bully me. If you hurt her, I'll hurt you. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Rocky and Adrian. Ginger and Fred. Dillon and Cadence.
Three sets of two beings. Two people that apart mean a whole lot less then when they are together. Men made better because of the love of their women. In our case, a boy that can't imagine existing without his girl.
His world. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
That's cold, Ems. You know you're supposed to save your lunches for me."
"And like I told you last time, my lunches want to see other people. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
This isn't about weakness and strength anymore. I know I've made it about that because of what Bruce drilled into my head, but what this girl went through, it has nothing to do with her being weak. I've only talked to her two days out of the last four and I know she's stronger than all of the people I call friends.
I know it because she's stronger than me. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
There ain't no me if there ain't no you. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester
The scientific world of the time was in the midst of a terrible ferment, with discoveries and realizations coming at an unseemly rate. To many in the ranks of the conservative and the devout, the new theories of geology and biology were delivering a series of hammer blows to mankind's self-regard. Geologists in particular seemed to have gone berserk, to have thrown off all sense of proper obeisance to their Maker... Mankind, it seemed, was now suddenly rather – dare one say it? – insignificant. He may not have been, as he had eternally supposed, specially created. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I was born in Cambridge but brought up in and around Winchester, in Hampshire. I've also lived in Hong Kong and America. ~ Chris Geere
Winchester quotes by Chris Geere
The citizens of Buffalo, then a smallish lakeside town, embarked on a brief campaign, led by a local judge named Wilkeson, to clear their own eponymous riverway and so tempt the canal engineers to route the Erie Canal to a terminus nearby. Energetic lobbying, together with the clearance of the creek, evidently worked, for the engineers did eventually end their labors there, and the fact that more than a million people now still brave one of the country's cruelest climates (with roof-topping lake-effect snowfalls drowning the city each winter) to live in and around Buffalo is testimony to the wisdom of Judge Wilkeson and the city fathers of 1825 in doing all the persuading, as well as dredging and prettifying the banks of Buffalo Creek. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
Our histories, our novels, our poems, our plays - they are all in this one book. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
She sighs and the small release of breath bothers me. This girl needs to be off doing things that make her happy. Not standing here with me, confused and torn. It's just further proof that I'm no good to be around. I'm turning one of the happiest people I know into something she was never meant to be.
I'm turning her into me. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
We know a little bit about a lot of things. Just enough to make us dangerous. ~ Dean Winchester
Winchester quotes by Dean Winchester

Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I collect firearms, and I've got a Winchester, an Indian rifle. It has tacks for every warrior that was shot, like notches on a pistol, and it's got feathers and beads hanging off it. It's like a work of art. ~ Joe Perry
Winchester quotes by Joe Perry
He hadn't been kissed like that in a long, long, time; maybe ever. ~ Twist And Shout
Winchester quotes by Twist And Shout
Look over there - on that corner by the bus stop - isn't that Winchester Stone? As ~ Richie Tankersley Cusick
Winchester quotes by Richie Tankersley Cusick
You know, Dean said, gesturing with his uninjured hand. If we were in an action movie, this would be the scene where you tenderly dress my wounds. then the wailing guitar ballad would kick in and we'd end up rolling around on the bed in a slow motion montage.
If I were in Q, The Winged Serpent, Xochi replied, this would be the scene where I sacrifice you to Quetzalcoatl. ~ Christa Faust
Winchester quotes by Christa Faust
I'm only going to hurt this girl. I hurt everyone I touch. It's the way I'm wired. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Why do we as a people choose to live in beautiful and risky places? Beautiful places are relatively dangerous; the forces that made them beautiful are the same forces that will ultimately destroy them. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I am a nobody. ... Treat me as a solar myth, or an echo, or an irrational quantity, or ignore me altogether. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
I swear if I hear one more person call her a retard, I'm going to snap. I'm beginning to see why people hate that word so much. It makes me physically sick to hear it. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
The minute the blonde grabs for my arm, I pull it up and hit her right in the nose. Bending over, tending to my move, the other two come at me, and soon as the other girls hand comes out close enough, I grab it and not thinking, bend and bite it. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester

Winchester quotes by C.L.Stone
I've known you a long time. I've seen you before you made the team and gained the popularity, turning into the jerk that's standing here now. I've seen you care about people even though you didn't want anyone to know you did. I heard some stuff today and it's because I know the person you used to be that I'm here. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Serenity, I am unable to wear panties. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
I think they will never really enjoy true democracy in China. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
And after that, and also for each word, there should be sentences that show the twists and turns of meanings - the way almost every word slips in its silvery, fishlike way, weaving this way and that, adding subtleties of nuance to itself, and then perhaps shedding them as public mood dictates. ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
Cadence Taylor is my girlfriend and no matter what the people walking around us think, I'm going to treat her that way. ~ Melyssa Winchester
Winchester quotes by Melyssa Winchester
Individual can fully exercise his or her abilities and skills. In return, all employees shall exert their utmost effort into their job." Finally, his new company would help his country. Its formally stated national intent was to help "reconstruct Japan, and to elevate the nation's culture through dynamic cultural and technological activities." Yet ~ Simon Winchester
Winchester quotes by Simon Winchester
Having been in the newspaper business for a long, long time, I often wonder, Why do we actually need to know about something like a bus crash in Bangladesh that has no effect on us at all? That can be nothing other than voyeurism. ~ Simon Winchester
