In 2008, an Australian company commissioned a study to find out exactly how much people fear public speaking. The survey of more than one thousand people found that 23 percent feared public speaking more than death itself! As Jerry Seinfeld once said, most people attending a funeral would rather be in the casket than delivering the eulogy!
I can relate to those people because I feared speaking in front of a class or group of people more than anything else when I was a kid. In fact, I dropped speech in high school because when I signed up for it I thought it was a grammar class for an English credit. When I found out it actually required giving an oral presentation, I didn't want any part of it! After hearing the overview of the class on the first day, I got out of my seat and walked toward the door; the teacher asked me where I was going. We had a brief meeting in the hall, in which she informed me that nobody ever dropped her class. After a meeting with the principal, I dropped the class, but on the condition that I might be called upon in the near future to use my hunting and fishing skills. I thought the principal was joking--until I was called upon later that year during duck season to pick ducks during recess! I looked at it as a fair trade. ~ Jase Robertson
Oral Presentation quotes by Jase Robertson
Learning, without any opportunities to share what we've learned, is a little like cooking for ourselves; we do it, but we probably won't do it as well. ~ Mike Schmoker
Oral Presentation quotes by Mike Schmoker
You're real pretty. Got good strong thighs. And you've got oral skills most men would kill for." Now everyone turned and looked at Sissy Mae. "That's lovely, Sissy," Marty sighed out. "I was only complimenting her." "Compliments like that create hookers. ~ Anonymous

Gershwin's melodic gift was phenomenal. His songs contain the essence of New York in the 1920s and have deservedly become classics of their kind, part of the 20th-century folk-song tradition in the sense that they are popular music which has been spread by oral tradition (for many must have sung a Gershwin song without having any idea who wrote it). ~ George Gershwin
Oral Presentation quotes by George Gershwin
The girl's name was Maria and she had said she was a . . . what? Oral hygienist, was that it? Larry didn't know how much she knew about hygiene, but she was great on oral. ~ Stephan King
Oral Presentation quotes by Stephan King
When I was done raking and bagging, I banged on the door and demanded entry /...let me in by the hair on your chinny, chin-chin/ (a fairytale moment there) Dick opened it and in his posthest voice, said that before he could possibly consider letting me re-cross the threshold he needed to ask me whether I was a good f*cking fairy or a bad f*cking fairy? Grinning, I told him that I was very wicked fairy and if he had a wand about his person that I could have lend of, I would prove it. He said that was the right answer and promptly yanked me inside where he located and presented me with his wand, breathily ordering the sorcerer's apprentice to perform magic with it. Judging by the look on his face afterwards, I knew I'd impressed him with my oral sorcery and I was more than happy with the short-lifting sorcery Shane performed on me as the same time. ~ Gillibran Brown
Oral Presentation quotes by Gillibran Brown
There's no question there's enough information available to all of us in this society for darn near anything. The problem is the quality of the information, the presentation of it ... You shouldn't have to be a lawyer. ~ Sherrod Brown
Oral Presentation quotes by Sherrod Brown
Mac [Barnett] and I prank each other during our presentation. We show baby pictures of each other looking completely ridiculous. I can't believe the frilly shirt that I'm in, and Mac's wearing a sailor suit and playing a toy piano. That's a perfect example of a good prank, where we have three hundred people literally laughing in our faces, three hundred kids at every assembly. And it feels really good. It's really fun. ~ Jory John
Oral Presentation quotes by Jory John
There is nothing terribly difficult in the Bible - at least in a technical way. The Bible is written in street language, common language. Most of it was oral and spoken to illiterate people. They were the first ones to receive it. So when we make everything academic, we lose something. ~ Eugene H. Peterson
Oral Presentation quotes by Eugene H. Peterson
Exclusively oral cultures are unencumbered by dead knowledge, dead facts. Libraries, on the other hand, are full of them. ~ Huston Smith
Oral Presentation quotes by Huston Smith
The truth that we hide is naked, the one that we flaunt is so well dressed! ~ Abhijit Kar Gupta
Oral Presentation quotes by Abhijit Kar Gupta
Indians are marvelous storytellers. In some ways, that oral tradition is stronger than the written tradition. ~ N. Scott Momaday
Oral Presentation quotes by N. Scott Momaday
It is appropriate to have an over representation of factual presentations on how dangerous it is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis. ~ Al Gore
Oral Presentation quotes by Al Gore
Any adaptation - and I've done three in my career. I did 'Sweeney Todd' and 'Hugo' and 'Coriolanus.' It's important to find what makes it a movie as opposed to just a film presentation of a stage play. ~ John Logan
Oral Presentation quotes by John Logan
The classical heritage as shaped by and filtered through Roman culture had two great flaws. First, it prevented the very rich oral cultures of the ancient Mediterranean from surviving from antiquity into later times. All that was left as creative forces were Greek philosophy and Roman law. These were very substantial cultures but they represented a great narrowing of what could be passed on from antiquity to later centuries...
"Second, another deficiency of classical culture was its lack of social conscience, its obliviousness to the slavery, poverty, disease, and everyday cruelty endured by more than half of the fifty million people who inhabited the empire. The classical heritage represented a narrow and insensitive social and political theory reinforcing a miserably class-ridden and technologically stagnant society. ~ Norman F. Cantor
Oral Presentation quotes by Norman F. Cantor
Deep down I knew that if Hell existed, it was a real place full of ruthless, venal people, like the commodity pits at the Chicago Board of Trade, Disney World, or oral arguments before the United States Supreme Court. ~ Richard Dooling
Oral Presentation quotes by Richard Dooling
The physical image presentation aims at the subject. The presentation of the image itself as the presentation of the appearing image-representant is an entirely different experience. Here, too, it is possible that the consciousness of imaging can slip away entirely, in which case an ordinary perceptual presentation would result. Preventing this consciousness of imaging from arising from the start in a purely intuitive manner is the effect produced by images simulating the look of reality, images of the sort found in the wax museum, and the like. Although in such cases we have a conceptual knowledge of the fact that the appearances are merely image appearances, in the intuitive experience itself the re-presentative moment, which is otherwise intimately mingled with the appearances, is absent. But this moment is decisive for intuitive image presentation. We have genuine perceptual presentations in those cases, accompanied by the thought that their objects are mere images. The appearance itself, however, presents itself as the appearance of a present object and not as an image. Indeed, in naïvely contemplating it, the appearance forces us to make the intuitive perceptual judgment. In doing this, it deceives us. In truth, there is perhaps another (nonappearing) object, standing to the appearing object in the relation of original to image. We know all of this, and yet the illusion continues to exist, since the appearance possesses the characteristic of normal perceptual presentati ~ Edmund Husserl
Oral Presentation quotes by Edmund Husserl
Sometimes," she told me, "a girl will give a guy a blow job at the end of the night because she doesn't want to have sex with him and he expects to be satisfied. So if I want him to leave and I don't want anything to happen . . ." She trailed off, leaving me to imagine the rest.

There was so much to unpack in that short statement: why a young man should expect to be sexually satisfied; why a girl not only isn't outraged, but considers it her obligation to comply; why she doesn't think a blow job constitutes "anything happening"; the pressure young women face in any personal relationship to put others' needs before their own; the potential justification of assault with a chaser of self-blame. "It goes back to girls feeling guilty," Anna said. "If you go to a guy's room and are hooking up with him, you feel bad leaving him without pleasing him in some way. But, you know, it's unfair. I don't think he feels badly for you."

In their research on high school girls and oral sex, April Burns, a professor of psychology at City University of New York, and her colleagues found that girls thought of fellatio kind of like homework: a chore to get done, a skill to master, one on which they expected to be evaluated, possibly publicly. As with schoolwork, they worried about failing or performing poorly - earning the equivalent of low marks. Although they took satisfaction in a task well done, the pleasure they described was never physical, never located in their own b ~ Peggy Orenstein
Oral Presentation quotes by Peggy Orenstein
The reason I prefer the sledgehammer to the rapier and the reason I believe in blunt, violent, confrontational forms for the presentation of my ideas is because I see that what's happening to the lives of people is not rapierlike, it is not gentle, it is not subtle. It is direct, hard and violent. The slow violence of poverty, the slow violence of untreated disease. Of unemployment, hunger, discrimination. This isn't the violence of some guy opening fire with an Uzi in a McDonald's and forty people are dead. The real violence that goes on every day, unheard, unreported, over and over, multiplied a millionfold. ~ George Carlin
Oral Presentation quotes by George Carlin
Warning: This book contains graphic language, sex, lies, intrigue, clowns, kleptomania, anal sex, oral sex, mutual masturbation, bad driving, good cooking, and the missing head of a Justin Timberlake statue. Not for the sour of disposition. ~ L.B. Gregg
Oral Presentation quotes by L.B. Gregg
Even one's own home is a kind of anthology of advertisers, manufacturers, motifs and presentation techniques. There's nothing 'natural' about one's home these days. The furnishings, the fabrics, the furniture, the appliances, the TV, and all the electronic equipment - we're living inside commercials. ~ J.G. Ballard
Oral Presentation quotes by J.G. Ballard
This presentation was truly a testament to the epic magnitude of getting into Thomas Treadwell's class. This exercise was pointedly not some theoretical simulation dreamed up by an academic with no real-world experience. We were presenting our ideas to real venture capitalists and angel investors. ~ Mitty Walters
Oral Presentation quotes by Mitty Walters
Give yourself and others the gift of your brilliance to deliver a more compelling and memorable presentation. ~ Susan C. Young
Oral Presentation quotes by Susan C. Young
The way we frame information for ourselves or for others can make a big difference in how we see and respond to choice. Every time we encounter new information or reexamine old information, we're influenced by its presentation. We can use framing to our advantage, but sometimes it has a negative impact on the quality of our decisions. ~ Sheena Iyengar
Oral Presentation quotes by Sheena Iyengar
Both oral and written stories are an important aspect of culture. Stories are a ubiquitous component of human communication. People use stories to explain historical events and to illustrate ideology. Stories teach ethical principles through parables. ~ Kilroy J. Oldster
Oral Presentation quotes by Kilroy J. Oldster
What was said about him, what the females needed to believe about him, was just oral masturbation for mouths that needed to be otherwise occupied. ~ J.R. Ward
Oral Presentation quotes by J.R. Ward
Oral Roberts is a greed-crazed white-trash lunatic who should have been hung upside down from a telephone pole on the outskirts of Tulsa 44 years ago, before he somehow transmogrified into the money-sucking animal that he became when he discovered television. ~ Hunter S. Thompson
Oral Presentation quotes by Hunter S. Thompson
Endless presentation of conflict may interfere with genuine issue resolution. ~ Michael Crichton
Oral Presentation quotes by Michael Crichton
Appearance matters, we see your presentation before we get a chance to sample the substance within. You might miss a chance for the latter. ~ Archibald Marwizi
Oral Presentation quotes by Archibald Marwizi
To a woman, being married means you do not under any circumstances put your penis in another woman's vagina. It also means no blowjobs, no oral, no anal, no phone sex, no sex of any kind, ever, with anyone other than your wife for as long as you're married. As soon as you say 'I do', it means that where other women are concern 'I don't' is the only correct response. If you play by these rules, you're safe. If you don't, we leave. It's really that simple. ~ Helen Argiro
Oral Presentation quotes by Helen Argiro
The world needs peak performers like you to set the example of how to accept failures, dust off, and move on with your head held high. Whether you face a business failure, a divorce, a missed opportunity, a lost sale, a fumbled business presentation, or all of the above, own it, learn from it, and envision a successful future. ~ Michelle McCullough
Oral Presentation quotes by Michelle McCullough
Many myths and religions have some kind of threat of retribution from their god or gods, and their doctrines warn of the dangers of doing various forbidden things. Why? Because memes involving danger are the ones we pay attention to! As oral traditions developed, our brains were set up to amplify the dangers and give them greater significance than the rest. ~ Richard Brodie
Oral Presentation quotes by Richard Brodie
Oral traditions of the islanders are obsessed with cannibalism; the most inflammatory taunt that could be snarled at an enemy was The flesh of your mother sticks between my teeth. ~ Jared Diamond
Oral Presentation quotes by Jared Diamond
Despite all the types of rejection, the most important part is to keep on moving forward and to not give up. If things are getting bad, take a break and seek out people for their opinion on what you may do to improve your presentation. In the end, it is all a numbers game and it does become a lot easier. It stops becoming this big ordeal and is just part of the job. ~ Mark Edward
Oral Presentation quotes by Mark Edward
Preaching' is common, oral, gospel proclamation by the entire church. It is not, and never was, pulpit oratory. In the New Testament, the word 'preaching' is almost never used to describe discipleship sermons within the four walls of a building. It is missionary proclamation to lost people out in the world. The audience is generally a group of people who have not been introduced to the Savior. ~ Daniel Sheard
Oral Presentation quotes by Daniel Sheard
I once worked with the nicest young hairdresser and one afternoon when we had nothing to do he explained how to give a blowjob from a man's perspective, and I tell you it changed everything. After that, every man I went with called me 'a goddess', 'a revelation sent from God' and 'an oral-copulating genius'". ~ Marshall Thornton
Oral Presentation quotes by Marshall Thornton
Sustainability requires that we demand enduring quality. Steve Strong has a slide presentation pointing out that much of Oxford was built 800 years ago. What are we building today that will be here 800 years from now? If something like that emerged from this recession, it would help justify the hardship so many people are currently experiencing. ~ Denis Hayes
Oral Presentation quotes by Denis Hayes
A necessary part of our intelligence is on the line as the oral tradition becomes less and less important. There was a time throughout our land when it was common for stories to be told and retold, a most valuable exercise, for the story retold is the story reexamined over and over again at different levels of intellectual and emotional growth. ~ Wes Jackson
Oral Presentation quotes by Wes Jackson
I believe it is important to speak to your readers in person ... to enable people to have a whole picture of me; I have to both write and speak. I view my role as writer and also as oral communicator. ~ Buchi Emecheta
Oral Presentation quotes by Buchi Emecheta
Suspense is simply the dramatization of a film's narrative, or if you will, the most intense presentation possible of dramatic situations. ~ Francois Truffaut
Oral Presentation quotes by Francois Truffaut
Holy shit! I think this man has an insatiable oral fixation and I am the grateful recipient! ~ Adler And Holt
