They took a baseball bat and whacked open his head. Mummy Boy fell to the ground; he finally was dead. Inside of his head were no candy or prizes, just a few stray beetles of various sizes. ~ Tim Burton
Mummy Boy quotes by Tim Burton
Alone and rejected, Mummy Boy wept,
then went to the cabinet
where the snack food was kept. ~ Tim Burton
Mummy Boy quotes by Tim Burton
I always wanted to be in a boy band since I was a kid. ~ Olly Murs
Mummy Boy quotes by Olly Murs
Leigh Bowery created outfits that made him look deformed, which was very brave. I believe this was the main thing that gave Leigh his edge. His designs were often breath-taking, but it was the way he used his body that was so utterly new and refreshing. ~ Boy George
Mummy Boy quotes by Boy George
Glad to hear it," Randy said. "There should be meat with every meal. Without meat there's no meal, am I right?" "I like this boy," my father said. "He's got a good head on his shoulders. ~ Janet Evanovich
Mummy Boy quotes by Janet Evanovich
I'd never trade my old girl for all the money in the world. I'd never trade my daughter Toya for all the money in the world. I'd never trade my only boy for all the money in the world. I put my last name first! ~ Rick Ross
Mummy Boy quotes by Rick Ross
Three-and-a-half-month-old infants already seem to exhibit the other-race effect. In a study at the University of Kentucky, white babies were very good at distinguishing faces with 100 percent Caucasian features from faces that had been graphically morphed to include features that were 70 percent white and 30 percent Asian. They couldn't do the reverse: They could not tell 100 percent Asian faces from those that were morphed to include 30 percent white features. In other words, they could detect small differences between white and not-quite-white faces, but not the same kinds of differences between Asian and not-quite-Asian faces.
Lawrence A. Hirschfeld of the University of Michigan did some of the pioneering work on how early in life children begin to understand race. He showed children of ages three, four, and seven, a picture of "Johnny:" a chubby black boy in a police uniform, complete with whistle and toy gun. He then showed them pictures of adults who shared two of Johnny's three main traits of race, body build, and uniform. Prof. Hirschfeld prepared all combinations - policemen who were fat but were white, thin black policemen, etc. - and asked the children which was Johnny's daddy or which was Johnny all grown up. Even the three-year-olds were significantly more likely to choose the black man rather than the fat man or the policeman. They knew that weight and occupation can change but race is permanent.
In 1996, after 15 years of studying children and race, ~ Jared Taylor
Mummy Boy quotes by Jared Taylor
All over England loving hands are packing trunks and tuck-boxes for the young gentlemen of Narkover, who reassemble today. Eager young voices are heard shouting, 'Mater! Don't forget to put in that pack of cards with the nicked aces,' or 'Auntie Frances, where have you put my dud half-crowns?' From many a home the father is, alas, temporarily absent, behind bars, but the lonely mother has the consolation of seeing her boy develop in the way his father would have wished. ~ J.B. Morton
Mummy Boy quotes by J.B. Morton
Maybe he wasn't the boy next door, maybe he wasn't even a real boy, but holy smokes, did he know how to kiss. ~ Trinity Faegen
Mummy Boy quotes by Trinity Faegen
key. I need to move up into Duke's job. Then I'll be top boy on Beck's side. Then I'll ~ Lee Child
Mummy Boy quotes by Lee Child
Supposing an emperor was persuaded to wear a new suit of clothes whose material was so fine that, to the common eye, the clothes weren't there. And suppose a little boy pointed out this fact in a loud, clear voice ...
Then you have The Story of the Emperor Who Had No Clothes.
But if you knew a bit more, it would be The Story of the Boy Who Got a Well-Deserved Thrashing from His Dad for Being Rude to Royalty, and Was Locked Up.
Or The Story of the Whole Crowd Who Were Rounded Up by the Guards and Told 'This Didn't Happen, OK? Does Anyone Want to Argue?'
Or it could be a story of how a whole kingdom suddenly saw the benefit of the 'new clothes', and developed an enthusiasm for healthy sports in a lively and refreshing atmosphere which got many new adherents every year, and led to a recession caused by the collapse of the conventional clothing industry.
It could even be a story about The Great Pneumonia Epidemic of '09.
It all depends on how much you know. ~ Terry Pratchett
Mummy Boy quotes by Terry Pratchett
Boy, you are outta line!" Joe yelled.
"I'm outta line?! You're screwing a vampire!"
"You hypocritical little bastard!"
"Yeah, you're a hypocripical-hypocri-hyp-hyp-hyp, I HATE THAT WORD! ~ S.L.J. Shortt
Mummy Boy quotes by S.L.J. Shortt
Think like a machine instead of a boy. ~ Orson Scott Card
Mummy Boy quotes by Orson Scott Card
The hot-o-meter started ringing like crazy as hot guys descended on me, my car and Tack from two directions.
Boy was I glad I curled my hair. ~ Kristen Ashley
Mummy Boy quotes by Kristen Ashley
Step 4: Cough and gag. Step 5: Repeat Step 4 until it feels like maybe your lungs aren't inside your body anymore. Step 6: Remember that a really cute boy is beside you, so try to cough in a far more attractive manner. ~ Ally Carter
Mummy Boy quotes by Ally Carter
Gavriel sat stock-still. Inside him roiled such turmoil that he feared that should he move, he would smash every piece of furniture in the room, crack every pane of every window, until there was nothing but shining splinters where the parlor had been.

Instead, he leaned back his head and laughed, a long, cruel laugh that did not seem to belong to the boy Roza had known. It blazed up from deep inside him, from some embers he'd always been careful never to stoke. ~ Holly Black
Mummy Boy quotes by Holly Black
Oh boy. His chest was smooth and warm and hard as stone, and she
wanted to both touch and nibble.
And lick. Could she pretty please lick? ~ Jill Shalvis
Mummy Boy quotes by Jill Shalvis
What makes a man's 80 year-old Irish uncle skip like a little boy? Me Father is very fond of me! ~ John Ortberg Jr.
Mummy Boy quotes by John Ortberg Jr.
The boy answers, "Don't ask unless you are willing to be hurt."
Indra says, "I ask. Teach." (That, by the way, is a good Oriental idea: you don't teach until you are asked. You don't force your mission down people's throats.) ~ Joseph Campbell
Mummy Boy quotes by Joseph Campbell
Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon - that's impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no spoon. ~ The Wachowski Brothers
Mummy Boy quotes by The Wachowski Brothers
Veronyka didn't feel like a boy on the inside - she wasn't like some of the children she'd known growing up who might be born as boys or girls but didn't feel like they fit that category, and so they dressed in a way that felt right to them. That was their truth, no matter what the world saw. ~ Nicki Pau Preto
Mummy Boy quotes by Nicki Pau Preto
I ate in the morning what I would digest in the evening; I swallowed as a boy what I would ruminate upon as an older man. I have thoroughly absorbed these writings, implanting them not only in my memory but in my marrow. (Quoted by Josh Foer in Moonwalking With Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything) ~ Francesco Petrarca
Mummy Boy quotes by Francesco Petrarca
Motherhood can be seen as a political act. (...) when adressed, disconnections can become opportunities (...) Even when sons seem to be disinterested (...), a mother's efforts are extremely important. This is how we continue to build relationship with sons. ~ Cate Dooley & Nikki Fedele
Mummy Boy quotes by Cate Dooley & Nikki Fedele
Monkey John looked at the dead boy. "By God, life is cheap up here on the goddamned Canadian River."
"Cheap," Blue Duck answered. "And it might get cheaper. ~ Larry McMurtry
Mummy Boy quotes by Larry McMurtry
They went through the last of the cars and then walked up the track to the locomotive and climbed up to the catwalk. Rust and scaling paint. They pushed into the cab and he blew away the ash from the engineer's seat and put the boy at the controls. The controls were very simple. Little to do but push the throttle lever forward. He made train noises and diesel horn noises but he wasn't sure what these might mean to the boy. After a while they just looked out through the silted glass to where the track curved away in the waste of weeds. If they saw different worlds what they knew was the same. That the train would sit there slowly decomposing for all eternity and that no train would ever run again ~ Cormac McCarthy
Mummy Boy quotes by Cormac McCarthy
LINSCOTT: Well, I don't like it. Man works damn hard, leaves his wife all his money, and some pretty boy comes along and gets it. Sometimes I think those old East Indians had the right idea about widows. Cremate the husbands and burn up the wives along with them.
CONNIE: Maybe it would be simpler to burn up the money. ~ Dorothy Parker
Mummy Boy quotes by Dorothy Parker
His body had become a statue as soon as the man's hand made contact. He was perfectly still on his bed of newspapers. When faced with attack, most animals instinctively know to become motionless. If you didn't move and you didn't breathe it was possible that you would not be seen. The boy's skinny ribcage filled with stale air while he waited for the hand to leave his head.Tina held her breath as well. If the man did more than pat the boy she would have to do something. She would have to do anything. There are some things that cannot be tolerated. If he did more than pat the boy Tina would not survive. She was completely sure of that ~ Nicole Trope
Mummy Boy quotes by Nicole Trope
Tell me this," I said. "My world. It's not like the one I read about in the oldest books. When they talk about magic, about ghosts, it's as if they are fairy-tales to frighten children. And yet I have seen the dead walk, seen a boy bring fire with just a thought."
Fexler frowned as if considering how to explain. "Think of reality as a ship whose course is set, whose wheel is locked in place by universal constants. Our greatest achievement, and downfall, was to turn that wheel, just a fraction. The role of the observer was always important - we discovered that. If a tree falls in the wood and no one hears it, then it is both standing and not standing. The cat is both alive and dead."
"Who mentioned a fecking cat? ~ Mark Lawrence
Mummy Boy quotes by Mark Lawrence
Ford," she whispered to him. "I promise I'll leave you alone, never see you again. Just please, help me get you home."
Still nothing.
"Ford!" She sat up, her hands gripping his shoulders, putting everything she had into it, all her anger and fear and longing and hope and love. "Ford Winter!"
So softly she almost missed it, he whispered, "Present."
She laughed through her tears and hugged him. "Good boy," she said. ~ Michele Jaffe
Mummy Boy quotes by Michele Jaffe
I don't know who's worse with little boys, Mario or Michael Jackson. ~ Dustin Diamond
Mummy Boy quotes by Dustin Diamond
The Buddelbinsters, he'd heard them called. Once they'd had seven changeling children, and Bartholomew had seen them playing in the windows and the doorways. But other people had seen them, too, and one night a crowd had come and dragged the children away. Now there was only one, a frail-looking boy with thistle-hair. ~ Stefan Bachmann
Mummy Boy quotes by Stefan Bachmann
It's my turn next, and I realize then that I never turned in the name of my escort--because I hadn't planned on being here. I glance around wildly for Ryder, but he's nowhere to be seen, swallowed up by the sea of people in cocktail dresses and suits.
Crap. I thought he realized that escorting me on court was part of the deal, once I'd agreed to go. I guess he'd figured it'd be easier on me, what with the whole Patrick thing, if I was alone onstage. But I don't want to be alone. I want Ryder with me. By my side, supporting me.
Always.
I finally spot him in the crowd--it's not too hard, since he's a head taller than pretty much everyone else--and our eyes meet. My stomach drops to my feet--you know, that feeling you get on a roller coaster right after you crest that first hill and start plummeting toward the ground.
Oh my God, this can't be happening. I've fallen in love with Ryder Marsden, the boy I'm supposed to hate. And it has nothing to do with his confession, his declaration that he loves me. Sure, it might have forced me to examine my feelings faster than I would have on my own, but it was there all along, taking root, growing, blossoming.
Heck, it's a full-blown garden at this point.
"Our senior maid is Miss Jemma Cafferty!" comes the principal's voice. "Jemma is a varsity cheerleader, a member of the Wheelettes social sorority, the French Honor Club, the National Honor Society, and the Peer Mentors. She's escorted tonight by…ahem, sorry. ~ Kristi Cook
Mummy Boy quotes by Kristi Cook
Like my boy tells me; if it looks like a rat and smells like a rat, by golly, it is a rat. ~ Terrell Owens
Mummy Boy quotes by Terrell Owens
There's always a Justin Bieber. Ever since I've been around, there's always been one of him. You know, you can trace it back from how old you are and the boy bands that came along then and the teen sensations and whatnot. And, you know, good for them. There's a few of them that make it out and a few of them that don't. ~ Kid Rock
Mummy Boy quotes by Kid Rock
And I don't think you need to be scared of forgetting me, the boy says after a moment's consideration.
No? ....
No. Because if you forget me then you'll just get the chance to get to know me again. And you'll like that, because I'm actually a pretty cool person to get to know. ~ Fredrik Backman
Mummy Boy quotes by Fredrik Backman
Now she took the pills and, just before she closed her eyes, she summoned Lockie and his smile, and then the dreams would come.In her dream her golden boy tries again and again and again to stand up on the boogie board until he manages to remain upright for at least a minute. In her dream Sarah can feel the tears on her cheeks. Her golden boy was lost and she was too. She tried to dream that they found each other again but she couldn't control her dreams any more than she could control her nightmares. ~ Nicole Trope
Mummy Boy quotes by Nicole Trope
I think because I'm 6'4 and have blond hair and I didn't dress like any other kind of a boy, people just immediately thought I was some kind of circus animal. ~ Patrick Wolf
Mummy Boy quotes by Patrick Wolf
I was blessed to grow up on a farm, and when you're a farm boy, exercise is part of your lifestyle. Like it or not, that environment makes you work out. On the farm, nature is your gym. You walk and run and swim and have to do a lot of work with animals too. ~ Cesar Millan
Mummy Boy quotes by Cesar Millan
I saw a moving sight the other morning before breakfast in a little hotel where I slept in the dusty fields. The young man of the house shot a little wolf called coyote in the early morning. The little heroic animal lay on the ground, with his big furry ears, and his clean white teeth, and his little cheerful body, but his little brave life was gone. It made me think how brave all living things are. Here little coyote was, without any clothes or house or books or anything, with nothing to pay his way with, and risking his life so cheerfully - and losing it - just to see if he could pick up a meal near the hotel. He was doing his coyote-business like a hero, and you must do your boy-business, and I my man-business bravely, too, or else we won't be worth as much as a little coyote. ~ William James
Mummy Boy quotes by William James
What are you to do with a boy who never argues with you, but does exactly what he likes and when you get mad at him just says he's sorry and lets you storm? ~ William Somerset Maugham
Mummy Boy quotes by William Somerset Maugham
No boy is worth your tears, but once you find the one that is, he won't make you cry. ~ Jillian Dodd
Mummy Boy quotes by Jillian Dodd
This found its classic expression in Homer's Iliad, in which Glaucus says to Diomedes that he still hears his father's urgings ringing in his ears: Always be the best, my boy, the bravest, and hold your head high above the others. ~ Anthony Everitt
Mummy Boy quotes by Anthony Everitt
So much depends upon the transparent G-tube erupting from the gut of the blue-lipped boy. So much depends upon this observer of the universe" ... "And you say you don't write poetry. ~ John Green
Mummy Boy quotes by John Green
The boy was sitting quietly on the bunk, still wrapped in the blanket, watching. The man thought he had probably not fully committed himself to any of this. You could wake in the dark wet woods at any time. ~ Cormac McCarthy
Mummy Boy quotes by Cormac McCarthy
THERE WAS ALWAYS a boy in your life that common sense and the prayers of parents told you to stay away from: fast talker, fast car, and fast hands. He was the boy your father kept a loaded shotgun by the door for and met on the front porch if he ever thought about venturing onto his property ... let alone the threshold. He was the tall, dark, mysteriously handsome, and uncharacter-istically quiet one that made you wonder what was going on in his head, and that little voice in your head said it wasn't always so honorable. He was the boy you broke all of the rules over because bad-boys equaled excitement and the rebel in you liked the ride. ~ A.J. Lape
Mummy Boy quotes by A.J. Lape
I sometimes felt guilty about betraying Dumbledore's trust, of course he had admitted me to Hogwarts when no other Headmaster would have done so, and he had no idea I was breaking the rules he had set down for my own and others' safety. He never knew I had led three fellow students into becoming Animagi illegally. But I always managed to forget my guilty feelings every time we sat down to plan our next month's adventure. And I haven't changed."
Lupin's face had hardened, and there was self-disgust in his voice. "All this year, I have been battling with myself, wondering whether I should tell Dumbledore that Sirius was an Animagus. But I didn't do it. Why? Because I was too cowardly. It would have meant admitting that I'd betrayed his trust while I was at school, admitting that I'd led others along with me and Dumbledore's trust has meant everything to me. He let me into Hogwarts as a boy, and he gave me a job, when I have been shunned all my adult life, unable to find paid work because of what I am. ~ J.K. Rowling
Mummy Boy quotes by J.K. Rowling
Most people read poetry listening for echoes because the echoes are familiar to them. They wade through it the way a boy wades through water, feeling with his toes for the bottom: The echoes are the bottom. ~ Wallace Stevens
Mummy Boy quotes by Wallace Stevens
Handsome boy that you are ... aren't you ... yes, you are. She smooshes his face in her hands, and I actually find myself jealous of my dog.
I'm jealous of my dog.
I really need to get laid. ~ Samantha Towle
Mummy Boy quotes by Samantha Towle
I see how complicated it is to make a film and how many people are involved and I love the fact that I get to sit in a room on my own and the set costs nothing and the actors cost nothing and I'm the director and it's so simple. You just need a pen and paper to make a book. You don't need a huge budget or a gaffer or a best boy. ~ Markus Zusak
Mummy Boy quotes by Markus Zusak
It's only later that I'll see you're feeding me rehearsed lines and perfectly timed smiles and gasps and tears that come at precisely the right moment. A year from now I'll be screaming "Fuck you, FUCK YOU" into a pillow because I won't have the guts to say the words to your face.
But right now, a boy is staring at me from the end of the hall and even though he doesn't say a word, he's claimed me.
I'm new territory and you've planted your flag. ~ Heather Demetrios
Mummy Boy quotes by Heather Demetrios
Not very long after this a very exciting thing happened. Not only Sara, but the entire school, found it exciting, and made it the chief subject of conversation for weeks after it occurred. In one of his letters Captain Crewe told a most interesting story. A friend who had been at school with him when he was a boy had unexpectedly come to see him in India. He was the owner of a large tract of land upon which diamonds had been found, and he was engaged in developing the mines. If all went as was confidently expected, he would become possessed of such wealth as it made one dizzy to think of; and because he was fond of the friend of his school days, he had given him an opportunity to share in this enormous fortune by becoming a partner in his scheme. This, at least, was what Sara gathered from his letters. It is true that any other business scheme, however magnificent, would have had but small attraction for her or for the schoolroom; but "diamond mines" sounded so like the Arabian Nights that no one could be indifferent. Sara thought them enchanting, and painted pictures, for Ermengarde and Lottie, of labyrinthine passages in the bowels of the earth, where sparkling stones studded the walls and roofs and ceilings, and strange, dark men dug them out with heavy picks. Ermengarde delighted in the story, and Lottie insisted on its being retold to her every evening. Lavinia was very spiteful about it, and told Jessie that she didn't believe such things as diamond mines existed. ~ Frances Hodgson Burnett
