Never attribute to malevolence what is merely due to incompetence ~ Arthur C. Clarke
Malevolence quotes by Arthur C. Clarke
Truly evil persons do not recognize their own malevolence. They perceive themselves as generous, good-hearted, friendly sorts, who sometimes have to resort to unpleasant tactics for the general betterment of society. Even the historical monsters seem to have had no second thoughts about the damage they were causing. It was that way with Hitler and Oliver Moresby, just as it was with the Greer Avenue Strangler. ~ Jack McDevitt
Malevolence quotes by Jack McDevitt
The individualism of current economic theory is manifest in the purely self-interested behavior it generally assumes. It has no real place for fairness, malevolence, and benevolence, nor for the preservation of human life or any other moral concern. ~ Herman E. Daly
Malevolence quotes by Herman E. Daly
Greebo turned upon Granny Weatherwax a yellow-eyed stare of self-satisfied malevolence, such as cats always reserve for people who don't like them, and purred. Greebo was possibly the only cat who could snigger in purr. ~ Terry Pratchett
Malevolence quotes by Terry Pratchett
We mute the realization of malevolence- which is too threatening to bear - by turning offenders into victims themselves and by describing their behavior as the result of forces beyond their control. ~ Anna C. Salter
Malevolence quotes by Anna C. Salter
But all this was beside the point. What scared Amy was the mere fact of what looked inescapably like recreational malevolence. The poem had been written by an adult, not some teen with an unfinished brain. Whoever wrote the line bootlicker, sycophant, toady intended damage, understood how Carla would feel, how anybody would feel, being called such names. The line was playful, offhand, the poem itself a smug, imperious cat stretch. The writer was having fun. Amy had been comfortable in the same room with someone whose idea of fun this was. ~ Jincy Willett
Malevolence quotes by Jincy Willett
Malevolence is shameful but satisfying. ~ Mason Cooley
Malevolence quotes by Mason Cooley
It hardly needs saying that such mutualistic communities will also be plagued by conflict. Conflict is at the very heart of life, resulting not simply from the malevolence of others in the struggle for place or portion, but also from the fact that men of the best will in the world seem to suffer incurably, so far as one can tell, from what William Jame called "a certain blindness" in perceiving the vitalities of others. ~ Benjamin Nelson
Malevolence quotes by Benjamin Nelson
The only real grounds for attack which the expression of Armance's countenance could offer to her enemies was a singular look which she had at times when her mind was most detached. This fixed and profound gaze was one of extreme attention; there was nothing in it, certainly, that could shock the most severe delicacy; it suggested neither coquetry nor assurance; but no one could deny that it was singular, and, in that respect, out of place in a young person. Madame de Bonnivet's flatterers, when they were sure of being noticed, would sometimes imitate this look, in discussing Armance among themselves; but these vulgar spirits robbed it of an element that they had never thought of noticing. "It is with such eyes," Madame de Mali-vert said to them one day, out of patience with their malevolence, "that a pair of angels exiled among men and obliged to disguise themselves in mortal form, would gaze at one another in mutual recognition. ~ Stendhal
Malevolence quotes by Stendhal
Who but the unblemished, pristine archetype of malevolence would shake and shove and rattle the child's crib when all the child wants to do is sleep? ~ John Zande
Malevolence quotes by John Zande
I think you have a social responsibility as the villain, which is pretty different from the hero's responsibility. If you have any kind of a social or political conscience at all, the first thing you want to do is make malevolence recognizable to people, almost as a kind of teaching aid. ~ Peter Coyote
Malevolence quotes by Peter Coyote
It's easier to play aggression and malevolence onscreen, often, than to hit softer notes. ~ Joel Edgerton
Malevolence quotes by Joel Edgerton
How little the general report of any one ought to be credited, since no character, however upright, can escape the malevolence of slander. ~ Jane Austen
Malevolence quotes by Jane Austen
The Luggage was also extremely protective of its owner. It would be hard to describe its attitude to the rest of creation, but one could start with the phrase "bloody-minded malevolence" and work up from there. Conina ~ Terry Pratchett
Malevolence quotes by Terry Pratchett
It's the look you give a well-behaved imbecile, an insurance policy against cosmic malevolence. ~ Dominic Smith
Malevolence quotes by Dominic Smith
Who seems a harmless fool to those above him is a malevolence to those beneath. ~ Sarah Manguso
Malevolence quotes by Sarah Manguso
Malevolence takes a bite out off your spirit. Just sitting with it, just talking with people who consciously and deliberately exploit others, feels like being beaten. Over the years, l have seen many therapists burn out and leave the field entirely. [Refers to treating sex offenders, p6] ~ Anna C. Salter
Malevolence quotes by Anna C. Salter
Society is competitive and some feel inferior and are jealous of others. This motivates them to believe and spread lies. They satisfy their malevolence to lift themselves. In the world I want to live in, any form of gossip should be illegal and people should talk only about arts and sciences. ~ Maria Karvouni
Malevolence quotes by Maria Karvouni
The human beings must be mentally immensely strong, during the encounter with the true malevolence in others, because on it's own it doesn't belong to their species. ~ Mladen Đorđević
Malevolence quotes by Mladen Đorđević
Bolton's silence was a hundred times more threatening than Vargo Hoat's slobbering malevolence. Pale ~ George R R Martin
Malevolence quotes by George R R Martin
Mankind, not womankind, has slaughtered more humans in the name of God and Religion than for any other reason. ~ Abhijit Naskar
Malevolence quotes by Abhijit Naskar
The universe, she sees, exists as it does to not simply humble, but abuse, denigrate, and humiliate the minds it was so expertly commissioned to birth. This is malevolence on an unfathomable scale, expressed through immeasurable waste stretched out between distances and times that cannot be understood. It is cruel, but not hateful, depraved, but not vengeful. This is considered pain, carefully presented in careless proportions to blister and disgrace anyone - or anything - that might momentarily dare to ever privately contemplate it is in control. ~ John Zande
Malevolence quotes by John Zande
God love the car. It has shown the naked heart that lives in all of us. Man invented the car but the car
out of pure malevolence no doubt
changed the history of the world by reinventing man. ~ Harry Crews
Malevolence quotes by Harry Crews
Much of the most important evils that mankind have to consider are those which they inflict upon each other through stupidity or malevolence or both. ~ Bertrand Russell
Malevolence quotes by Bertrand Russell
The creation of man is evidence for the love of God, the preservation of man is evidence for the patience of God, and Christ is evidence for the forgiveness of God. It is when we are wrapped up in our own little peeves that we begin to displace His benevolence with malevolence. ~ Criss Jami
Malevolence quotes by Criss Jami
Islam emphasized the internal purity of man that is achieved through the purity of the mind in realizing the Right and the purity of feelings through having the pure intention towards man, far away from the meanness of malevolence and hatred and through the purity of the movement that is not lunched except for the sake of justice, Good and life. ~ Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah
Malevolence quotes by Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah
When I was first aware that I had been laid low by the disease, I felt a need, among other things, to register a strong protest against the word "depression." Depression, most people know, used to be termed "melancholia," a word which appears in English as the year 1303 and crops up more than once in Chaucer, who in his usage seemed to be aware of its pathological nuances. "Melancholia" would still appear to be a far more apt and evocative word for the blacker forms of the disorder, but it was usurped by a noun with a blank tonality and lacking any magisterial presence, used indifferently to describe an economic decline or a rut in the ground, a true wimp of a word for such a major illness.

It may be that the scientist generally held responsible for its currency in modern times, a Johns Hopkins Medical School faculty member justly venerated -- the Swiss-born psychiatrist Adolf Meyer -- had a tin ear for the finer rhythms of English and therefore was unaware of the semantic damage he had inflicted for such a dreadful and raging disease. Nonetheless, for over seventy-five years the word has slithered innocuously through the language like a slug, leaving little trace of its intrinsic malevolence and preventing, by its insipidity, a general awareness of the horrible intensity of the disease when out of control. ~ William Styron
Malevolence quotes by William Styron
This movement among the Jews is not new ... this worldwide conspiracy for the overthrow of civilization and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality, has been steadily growing. It has been the mainspring of every subversive movement during the 19th century ... ~ Winston Churchill
Malevolence quotes by Winston Churchill
I have two rules I follow religiously:
#1. Don't sweat the small stuff.
#2. It's all small stuff. ~ R. Rose
Malevolence quotes by R. Rose
I believe that much of the maladjustment in our societies is caused, not by malevolence and corruption, but simply by ignorance. ~ Gilbert Highet
Malevolence quotes by Gilbert Highet
Each time that we respond unmercifully, our malevolence reveals our lack of faith. If we believe that Jesus will set all things right in the end from his great white throne of judgment then we can be merciful and respond with mercy. ~ Jason Farley
Malevolence quotes by Jason Farley
We've spoken of the Knights of the Holy Grail, Percival. Do you know what I was? The Knight of the Unholy Grail.
In times like these when everyone is wonderful, what is needed is a quest for evil.
You should be interested! Such a quest serves God's cause! How? Because the Good proves nothing. When everyone is wonderful, nobody bothers with God. If you had ten thousand Albert Schweitzers giving their lives for their fellow men, do you think anyone would have a second thought about God?
Or suppose the Lowell Professor of Religion at Harvard should actually find the Holy Grail, dig it up in an Israeli wadi, properly authenticate it, carbon date it, and present it to the Metropolitan Museum. Millions of visitors! I would be as curious as the next person and would stand in line for hours to see it. But what different would it make in the end? People would be interested for a while, yes. This is an age of interest.
But suppose you could show me one "sin," one pure act of malevolence. A different cup of tea! That would bring matters to a screeching halt. But we have plenty of evil around you say. What about Hitler, the gas ovens and so forth? What about them? As everyone knows and says, Hitler was a madman. And it seems nobody else was responsible. Everyone was following orders. It is even possible that there was no such order, that it was all a bureaucratic mistake.
Show me a single "sin."
One hundred and twenty thousand dead at Hiroshima? Where was ~ Walker Percy
Malevolence quotes by Walker Percy
I had not liked him. I had struggled against him and for him, I had cursed him and thanked him, despised him and admired him. I hated his religion and its cold disapproving gaze, its malevolence that cloaked itself in pretended kindness, and its allegiance to a god who would drain the joy from the world by naming it sin, but Alfred's religion had made him a good man and a good king. And Alfred's joyless soul had proved a rock against which the Danes had broken themselves. Time and again they had attacked, and time and again Alfred had out-thought them, and Wessex grew ever stronger and richer and all that was because of Alfred. We think of kings as privileged men who rule over us and have the freedom to make, break and flaunt the law, but Alfred was never above the law he loved to make. He saw his life as a duty to his god and to the people of Wessex and I have never seen a better king, and I doubt my sons, grandsons and their children's children will ever see a better one. I never liked him, but I have never stopped admiring him. He was my king and all that I now have I owe to him. The food that I eat, the hall where I live and the swords of my men, all started with Alfred, who hated me at times, loved me at times, and was generous with me. He was a gold-giver. ~ Bernard Cornwell
Malevolence quotes by Bernard Cornwell
If owning frivolous articles of excess were indeed the trappings of malevolence, my home was ready to play host to the Axis powers. ~ Michael Gurnow
Malevolence quotes by Michael Gurnow
The way that you set the world straight is by constraining the malevolence in your own heart.

(From "Identity politics and the Marxist lie of white privilege" on YouTube) ~ Jordan B. Peterson
Malevolence quotes by Jordan B. Peterson
Never attribute to malevolence that which can best be explained by incompetence."--Greenfield's First Law of Political Analysis. ~ Jeff Greenfield
Malevolence quotes by Jeff Greenfield
Sanity ... had it ever been more than a convention
a comfortable set of blinkers, an agreed mode of wishful thinking, which excluded from our view the full strangeness and malevolence of the universe we are compelled to inhabit? ~ C.S. Lewis
Malevolence quotes by C.S. Lewis
Dark and sour humours, especially those which have a spice of malevolence in them, are vastly disagreeable. Such men have no music in their souls. ~ Abigail Adams
Malevolence quotes by Abigail Adams
The PM glanced a look of pure malevolence. A terrifying glimpse into what madness, ego and naked ambition it takes to lead a modern democracy. ~ Alan Dean
Malevolence quotes by Alan Dean
Too often we presume that the unexpected strangers in our lives bode ill,or we are skeptical of their designs. We think we know more.

And while I am well aware that there is indeed all manner of malevolence in the ether, there is benevolence there, too ~ Chris Bohjalian
Malevolence quotes by Chris Bohjalian
Each malevolence has a cousin that heals it. I fancy Hurtsickle and Heartsease as herbal enemies –weeds growing in reach of one another; the bite and the balm in balance. ~ Jalina Mhyana
Malevolence quotes by Jalina Mhyana
It was true that the ghastly sounds I had heard through the fog had greatly upset me but far worse was what emanated from and surrounded these things and arose to unsteady me, an atmosphere, a force - I do not exactly know what to call it - of evil and uncleanness, of terror and suffering, of malevolence and bitter anger ~ Susan Hill
Malevolence quotes by Susan Hill
Only in fiction are the great evils committed by caricatures of malevolence: Darth Vader, Lord Voldemort, Sauron or the Joker. In real history the great evils are committed by people seeking to restore a romanticised golden age, willing to sacrifice their lives and the lives of others in what they regard as a great and even holy cause. In some cases they see themselves as 'doing God's work'. They 'seem happy'. That is how dreams of utopia turn into nightmares of hell. ~ Jonathan Sacks
Malevolence quotes by Jonathan Sacks
George Washington once wrote that leading by conviction gave him "a consolation within that no earthly efforts can deprive me of." He continued: "The arrows of malevolence, however barbed and well pointed, never can reach the most vulnerable part of me. ~ George W. Bush
Malevolence quotes by George W. Bush
I was a cub reporter on a local newspaper in Limerick city, and I used to cover the district court meetings. All of life passed through the Limerick courthouse. Misery, malevolence, the dark side of humanity ... I tell ya, it made 'Angela's Ashes' look like 'The Wonderful World of Disney.' ~ Kevin Barry
Malevolence quotes by Kevin Barry
Mr. Frederick Parker spent a good deal of his time in endeavouring to mask, under a cloak of boisterous good humour, a really remarkable combination of malevolence and imbecility. ~ Norman Douglas
Malevolence quotes by Norman Douglas
Sometimes, to destroy evil, it takes something equally dark; a selective malevolence that will do what others will not, or cannot do. ~ Robert G. Moons
Malevolence quotes by Robert G. Moons
Admittedly, it would take industrial-grade chutzpah and a massive dose of malevolence for anyone to bulldoze the spot where Neil Armstrong stepped off the Eagle lander. But even innocent visits could be damaging. ~ Seth Shostak
Malevolence quotes by Seth Shostak
I solved world hunger."

"Yeah, right."

"Oh, ye of little faith."

"You realize that solving world hunger would mean you'd be doing something good for a change?"

"Ah, but there's the kicker: I destroyed my solutions." He finally looks away from the window and gives me this cocky smirk. "Malevolence 101, Kirk. ~ Abria Mattina
Malevolence quotes by Abria Mattina
I began this path with a sense that an individual should be able to live in freedom among his neighbors, and not as a host for parasites, even if those parasites were endowed with power by the state. I had a sense that the individual should not be at the mercy of the bully or the mob, even if the bully or the mob was sanctioned by the state. I had a sense that if an individual was the target of aggression and I stood with him, or her, or them, I would have the satisfaction of knowing I had opposed villainy, and if others who shared my beliefs would join in the fight, then perhaps a measure at a time, evil would not prosper. I believed that each time malevolence and iniquity were thwarted the chances were increased that I could live in freedom … that I would not be at the mercy of the aggression of others."
He captured them as he looked them in the eyes across the silent hall. "The measure of success from acting on these simple truths is all around us, hangs above us in the sky, pervades the system of our sun … and may now be found among the stars."
~ William C. Samples
Malevolence quotes by William C. Samples
Lord," he said, "on this holiest of days, we thank you for food and ammunition. May our ships get through and the enemy's get lost." They all said "Amen" and then the orderlies brought in something that the cook had made out of bread crumbs and canned malevolence. Alistair ~ Chris Cleave
Malevolence quotes by Chris Cleave
Remember that there exists a certain malevolence about the formation of any social order. It is the struggle for existence by an artificial entity. Despotism and slavery hover at the edges. Many injuries occur and, thus, the need for laws. The law develops its own power structure, creating more wounds and new injustices. Such trauma can be healed by cooperation, not by confrontation. The summons to cooperate identifies the healer. ~ Frank Herbert
Malevolence quotes by Frank Herbert
Twenty-one years ago, when I first heard Mia Farrow had accused me of child molestation, I found the idea so ludicrous I didn't give it a second thought. We were involved in a terribly acrimonious breakup, with great enmity between us and a custody battle slowly gathering energy. The self-serving transparency of her malevolence seemed so obvious I didn't even hire a lawyer to defend myself. It was my show business attorney who told me she was bringing the accusation to the police and I would need a criminal lawyer. ~ Woody Allen
Malevolence quotes by Woody Allen
The malevolence of men revealed itself to his mind in all of its ugliness ~ Voltaire
Malevolence quotes by Voltaire
It is painful to behold a man employing his talents to corrupt himself. Nature has been kinder to Mr. Burke than he is to her. He is not affected by the reality of distress touching his heart, but by the showy resemblance of it striking his imagination. He pities the plumage, but forgets the dying bird. ~ Thomas Paine
Malevolence quotes by Thomas Paine
My specialty is detached malevolence. ~ Alice Roosevelt Longworth
Malevolence quotes by Alice Roosevelt Longworth
The arrows of malevolence ... however barbed and well pointed, never can reach the most vulnerable part of me; though, whilst I am up as a mark, they will be continually aimed. ~ George Washington
Malevolence quotes by George Washington
There is something sad about malevolence, to be wicked. I have always tried to make that come across in the villains I have played. ~ Christopher Lee
Malevolence quotes by Christopher Lee
I hated his religion and its cold disapproving gaze, its malevolence that cloaked itself in pretended kindness, and its allegiance to a god who would drain the joy from the world by naming it sin, ~ Bernard Cornwell
Malevolence quotes by Bernard Cornwell
The notion is that human beings are born, (as my Guru has explained many times,) with equivalent potential for both contraction and expansion. The ingredients of both darkness and light are equally present in all of us, and then it's up to the individual (or the family, or the society) to decide what will be brought forth - the virtues or the malevolence. The madness of this planet is largely a result of human being's difficulty in coming into virtuous balance with himself. Lunacy (both collective and individual) results. ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
Malevolence quotes by Elizabeth Gilbert
Words spoken from spite corrode hearts, especially for the one talking. ~ Alpha Four
Malevolence quotes by Alpha Four
A certain combination of incompetence and indifference can cause almost as much suffering as the most acute malevolence. ~ Bruce Catton
Malevolence quotes by Bruce Catton
Hatred and grudge are exhausting, self-destructing feelings. That's why I am very selective and choosy of whom I'd hate; as careful as I choose whom I'd trust. I don't give anyone the privilege of conquering and intoxicating the flow of my thoughts or polluting my good mood with boiling, bubbling malevolence and spite. However, I am quite generous with the trinity of forgiveness, apathy, and disdain. ~ Taib
Malevolence quotes by Taib
Moreover, each man's malevolence quite involuntarily exaggerated the other's importance, as if the chief of villains were confronting the king of imbeciles. ~ Marcel Proust
Malevolence quotes by Marcel Proust
A lawsuit is to ordinary life what war is to peacetime. In a lawsuit, everybody on the other side is bad. A trial transcript is a discourse in malevolence. ~ Janet Malcolm
Malevolence quotes by Janet Malcolm
The road to hell is paved with careful planning. ~ Marty Rubin
Malevolence quotes by Marty Rubin
Malevolence is born of negative feelings like loneliness and sadness and anger. It comes from an emptiness inside you that feels as if it's been carved out with a knife, an emptiness you're left with when something very important has been taken away from you ~ Ryu Murakami
Malevolence quotes by Ryu Murakami
Malevolence and paranoia cohabit in a twisted mind. Bad men trust no one because they know the treachery of which they themselves are capable. ~ Dean Koontz
Malevolence quotes by Dean Koontz
Enochian was the wail of dying stars, the whisper of galaxies winging through the void, the gurgle of primordial oceans, the crackle of a cooling planet,
the thunder of creation. And beneath it all , a simmering undercurrent of malevolence. ~ Ian Tregillis
Malevolence quotes by Ian Tregillis
Sometimes great power brings out the worst in us, and unfortunately, it isn't until people are given it that we see the true shades of their character. ~ Barbara Kloss
Malevolence quotes by Barbara Kloss
It wasn't Hell; only fools and drama queens throw that word around about a place like Gotham. It was worse, in a way, because it was manmade. There wasn't any timeless malevolence behind it all, it was just ... what human beings can descend to when they let themselves forget they can be heroes. ~ Chris Dee
Malevolence quotes by Chris Dee
The evil that is in the world almost always comes of ignorance, and good intentions may do as much harm as malevolence if they lack understanding. ~ Albert Camus
Malevolence quotes by Albert Camus
The evil that is in this world always comes of ignorance, and good intentions may do as much harm as malevolence, if they lack understanding. On the whole, men are more good than bad; that however isn't the real point. But they are more or less ignorant, and it is this that we call vice or virtue; ~ Albert Camus
Malevolence quotes by Albert Camus
He had caught the general malevolence. He had picked up the weapon with which he had been wounded. ~ Victor Hugo
Malevolence quotes by Victor Hugo
Your darkness is not born of malevolence, but of void, one that waits for light to fill it. The light from the First Star. When it does, you will become more than you ever imagined. I cannot see this, but I have read it in the prophecies. ~ Darynda Jones
Malevolence quotes by Darynda Jones
Without need for excuse or elaborate theodicies, malevolence explains the world that is, and by the strength and rigidity of this explanation an imprint - an outline - of the Creator who cherishes His anonymity is revealed. ~ John Zande
Malevolence quotes by John Zande
Look, it's easy to outsmart a werewolf or a vampire," Jace said. "They're no smarter than anyone else. But faeries live for hundreds of years and they're as cunning as snakes. They can't lie, but they love to engage in creative truth-telling. They'll find out whatever it is you want most in the world and give it to you - with a sting in the tail of the gift that will make you regret you ever wanted it in the first place."
He sighed. "They're not really about helping people. More about harm disguised as help. ~ Cassandra Clare
Malevolence quotes by Cassandra Clare
Her heart is of a much harder material ... A diamond. Beautiful, but deadly ...
And amid people with hearts of diamonds, it is best to remember that no one is exempt from their malevolence. Not even themselves. ~ Katlyn Charlesworth
Malevolence quotes by Katlyn Charlesworth
WEST SALEM ~ October 2011
A sudden vision, fraught with malevolence and darkness, obscured her sight. The face of a menacing figure turned from the shadows of his grisly handiwork and stared at Sorcha.
Her muscles tensed. By the Goddess, could he see her?
Please! No!
She wanted to scream, to run, but the vision ensnared her into the horrific moment like a fly in a spider's web. ~ Cherie De Sues
Malevolence quotes by Cherie De Sues
Why give a robot an order to obey orders - why aren't the original orders enough? Why command a robot not to do harm - wouldn't it be easier never to command it to do harm in the first place? Does the universe contain a mysterious force pulling entities toward malevolence, so that a positronic brain must be programmed to withstand it? Do intelligent beings inevitably develop an attitude problem? (…) Now that computers really have become smarter and more powerful, the anxiety has waned. Today's ubiquitous, networked computers have an unprecedented ability to do mischief should they ever go to the bad. But the only mayhem comes from unpredictable chaos or from human malice in the form of viruses. We no longer worry about electronic serial killers or subversive silicon cabals because we are beginning to appreciate that malevolence - like vision, motor coordination, and common sense - does not come free with computation but has to be programmed in. (…) Aggression, like every other part of human behavior we take for granted, is a challenging engineering problem! ~ Steven Pinker
Malevolence quotes by Steven Pinker
Political opposition ... is given an inhumane overlay, which then justifies the abrogation of all normally applied customs of civilized behavior. A political policy is equated with moral right, and opposition to it with diabolical malevolence. ~ Arthur Miller
Malevolence quotes by Arthur Miller
There was a malevolence about them, a sinister feel as their eyes locked onto us and didn't let go. ~ Richelle Mead
Malevolence quotes by Richelle Mead
The thing about fires most people don't realise is the noise. It's deafening so even if you shout, you can't be heard three feet away. You can never quite get used to the fury of it, it's like a mighty roar of anger that just keeps going. I suppose flame is beautiful, the way it leaps into the air like it's free to do what it wants. Other elements are also free and I guess the sea can be pretty awesome, wind too, and lightning, but fire has a mind and a determination. You don't see it as a blind raging thing, which I suppose it is, but something that attacks and thinks and changes tactics. It has a malevolence that uses surprise, dirty tricks, cunning. You get to think of it as someone, not something, and it's someone you have to beat, but right from the start you don't like your chances because it's so big and unpredictable and can do so much harm. ~ Bryce Courtenay
Malevolence quotes by Bryce Courtenay
