Surely there is a fitness in the institution of the Lord's Supper as a standing memorial by which the church at large may commemorate the grandest act, and by which the heart of each individual believer may be reminded of his dearest friend. You, who have learned to love the Saviour, will prize His ordinance for the Saviour's sake. You who rejoice in the salvation purchased by His dying, will not fail with gratitude and faith to show the Lord's death until He come. ~ William Morley Punshon
Learned To Love quotes by William Morley Punshon
We must learn to love ourselves less and the earth more. This will not be an easy task for we live in the age of nonsense. Bombarded with thousands of messages each day that proclaim how to be loved instead of how to be loving, we have learned to love objects instead of processes. ~ Steve Van Matre
Learned To Love quotes by Steve Van Matre
Love, my child, is a thing that every mother learns; it is not born with a baby, but made; and for eleven years, I have learned to love you as my son. ~ Salman Rushdie
Learned To Love quotes by Salman Rushdie
Well, well, well. The mighty Uthman-ul-Dosht comes with mercy, and offers peace. These are strange times we live in, eh, Tulkis? Have the Gurkish learned to love their enemies? Or simply fear them?'
'One need not love one's enemy, or even fear him, to desire peace. One need only love oneself.'
'Is that so?'
'It is. I lost two sons in the wars between our peoples. One at Ulrioch in the last war. He was a priest, and burned in the temple there. The other died not long ago, at the siege of Dagoska. He led the charge when the first breach was made.'
Glokta frowned and stretched out his neck. A hail of flatbow bolts. Tiny figures, falling in the rubble. 'That was a brave charge.'
'War is harshest on the brave. ~ Joe Abercrombie
Learned To Love quotes by Joe Abercrombie
. . .in your light, had I learned to love, here
in your beauty, could I speak
knowing of this space close within
as the breath held inside a garden rose, there -
there is no time. ~ John Daniel Thieme
Learned To Love quotes by John Daniel Thieme
In the ashes on the hearth Saigyo traced and retraced the word, "pity." He had yet to learn to accept life with all its good and evils, to love life in all its manifestations by becoming one with nature. And for this he had abandoned home, wife, and child in that city of conflict. He had fled to save his own life, not for any grandiose dream of redeeming mankind; neither had he taken vows with the thoughts of chanting sutras to Buddha; nor did he aspire to brocaded ranks of the high prelates. Only by surrendering to nature could he best cherish his own life, learn how man should live, and therein find peace. And if any priest accused him of taking the vows out of self-love, not to purify the world and bring salvation to men, Saigyo was ready to admit that these charges were true and that he deserved to be reviled and spat upon as a false priest. Yet, if driven to answer for himself, he was prepared to declare that he who had not learned to love his own life could not love mankind, and that what he sought now was to love that life which was his. Gifts he had none to preach salvation or the precepts of Buddha; all that he asked was to be left to exist as humbly as the butterflies and the birds. ~ Eiji Yoshikawa
Learned To Love quotes by Eiji Yoshikawa
EMTs learned to love brave patients
they weren't nearly such a pain in the ass as the whiners
but not to trust them. In the name of courage, they would hide symptoms, not ask for help when there was help hovering around them anxious to give them succor ... ~ Nevada Barr
Learned To Love quotes by Nevada Barr
Because it was mad love, crazy love, insane love.Because it was hard love, good love, true love.Because it was the real thing, and a love like that can't be stopped.Alove like that is inevitable".
"It lasts forever, for always, because of the love they have and the way they love. An how they learned to love together.Fierce and true. ~ Lauren Blakely
Learned To Love quotes by Lauren Blakely
If I feel sadness, it's the same simmering grief I always experience. The kind of pain I long ago learned to love with. ~ Riley Sager
Learned To Love quotes by Riley Sager
I learned to love my son without wanting to possess him and I learned how to teach him to teach himself. ~ Maya Angelou
Learned To Love quotes by Maya Angelou
I like to sing because my mother was a singer. She sang to me all the time, so I learned to love singing. I did have a career as little 10-year-old George Benson. I made my first record as a vocalist, but I've been playing guitar since I was 9. ~ George Benson
Learned To Love quotes by George Benson
I learned to love the journey, not the destination. I learned that this is not a dress rehersal, and that today is the only guarantee you get. ~ Anna Quindlen
Learned To Love quotes by Anna Quindlen
You gave me back the paradise
That I thought I lost for good
You helped me find the reasons why
It took me by surprise that you understood
You knew all along
What I never wanted to say
Until I learned to love myself
I was never ever lovin' anybody else. ~ Madonna
Learned To Love quotes by Madonna
I have learned to love that which is meant to harm me, so that I can stand in the way of those who are less strong. I can take the bullets for those who aren't able to. ~ Margaret Cho
Learned To Love quotes by Margaret Cho
I learned to love the fool in me. The one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances, wins sometimes & loses often, lacks self-control, loves & hates, hurts & gets hurt, promises & breaks promises, laughs & cries. ~ Theodore Isaac Rubin
Learned To Love quotes by Theodore Isaac Rubin
Now he haunts me seldom: some fierce umbilical is broken,
I live with my own fragile hopes and sudden rising despair.
Now I do not weep for my sins; I have learned to love them
And to know that they are the wounds that make love real.
His face illudes me; his voice, with its pity, does not ring in my ear.
His maxims memorized in boyhood do not make fruitless and pointless my experience.
I walk alone, but not so terrified as when he held my hand.
I do not splash in the blood of his son
nor hear the crunch of nails or thorns piercing protesting flesh.
I am a boy again
I whose boyhood was turned to manhood in a brutal myth.
Now wine is only wine with drops that do not taste of blood.
The bread I eat has too much pride for transubstantiation,
I, too
and together the bread and I embrace,
Each grateful to be what we are, each loving from our own reality. ~ James Kavanaugh
Learned To Love quotes by James Kavanaugh
The family is the hospital closest to us: when someone is sick, they are cared for there, where possible. The family is the first school for children, it is the unwavering reference point for the young, it is the best home for the elderly. It is the first school of mercy, because it is there that we have been loved and learned to love, have been forgiven and learned to forgive. ~ Pope Francis
Learned To Love quotes by Pope Francis
Know that the pain you have endured does not define you to me. What defines you to me is the way you talk about love, especially loving yourself. 'I have learned to love everything about me,' you wrote. You are powerful. ~ Ashley Asti
Learned To Love quotes by Ashley Asti
when i was a boy
a god often rescued me
from the shouts and the rods of men
and i played among trees and flowers
secure in their kindness
and the breezes of heaven
were playing there too.

and as you delight
the hearts of plants
when they stretch towards you
with little strength

so you delighted the heart in me
father Helios, and like Endymion
i was your favourite,
Moon. o all

you friendly
and faithful gods
i wish you could know
how my soul has loved you.

even though when i called to you then
it was not yet with names, and you
never named me as people do
as though they knew one another

i knew you better
than i have ever known them.
i understood the stillness above the sky
but never the words of men.

trees were my teachers
melodious trees
and i learned to love
among flowers.

i grew up in the arms of the gods. ~ Friedrich Holderlin
Learned To Love quotes by Friedrich Holderlin
Sometimes our mistakes put us exactly where we need to be... I guess that's what I've learned to love about travel... You meet so many random people. You're not so closed off. You're more open to yourself. ~ Jeff Loveness
Learned To Love quotes by Jeff Loveness
The Lord taught me to love everybody, but the last ones I learned to love were the sportswriters. ~ Alvin Dark
Learned To Love quotes by Alvin Dark
No, Mother, it is better as it is, and I'm glad Amy has learned to love him. But you are right in one thing. I am lonely, and perhaps if Teddy had tried again, I might have said 'Yes,' not because I love him any more, but because I care more to be loved than when he went away. ~ Louisa May Alcott
Learned To Love quotes by Louisa May Alcott
Even now I don't consider myself skinny, but I have put a lot of hard work into my body over the years, and in the process, I've really learned to love myself. ~ Kelly Osbourne
Learned To Love quotes by Kelly Osbourne
Playing sport was somewhat frivolous, but I liked it. I rebelled a little bit, and wouldn't go to music lessons and things like that, but I would go and play ball. My parents learned to love it because they saw how much I got out of it. ~ Mike Krzyzewski
Learned To Love quotes by Mike Krzyzewski
I walked through the valley of my fate, is all, and learned to love what I could lose. ~ Barbara Kingsolver
Learned To Love quotes by Barbara Kingsolver
I just don't think we could ever get our heads around the concept of learning to love a stranger". But you already do, the Indians replied. You didn't choose your siblings, and yet you learned to love them. Your parents shoved you in a room and said, "Get along". And you did. You found the good in each other. You discovered that the more respect, caring, and altruism you added to the relationship, the stronger it grew. ~ Franz Wisner
Learned To Love quotes by Franz Wisner
An acquaintanceship with the literature of the world may be won by any person who will devote half an hour a day to the careful reading of the best books. The habit of reading good books is one that gives great comfort in all the stages and among all the vicissitudes of life. The man who has learned to love good reading is never alone. His friends are the great ones of human history, and to them he may always go for stimulating and helpful communion.
GQ 71 (GQ is A Guide for Quorums of the Melchizedek Priesthood, 3rd Edition, 1930) ~ John Andreas Widtsoe
Learned To Love quotes by John Andreas Widtsoe
How I Learned to Love the New World Order ~ Joe Biden
Learned To Love quotes by Joe Biden
A man cannot tell whether a woman is in love with him or his security blanket until she is financially and psychologically independent enough to leave. Until a woman has learned how to leave, even she cannot be sure she has learned to love. ~ Warren Farrell
Learned To Love quotes by Warren Farrell
The tragedy of our time is that we've got it backwards, we've learned to love techniques and use people. ~ Herb Kelleher
Learned To Love quotes by Herb Kelleher
Since I was a very small boy, traveling from town to town, three hundred days a year, I learned to love this life. The cradlelike rock and sway of the train, the hospitality of our countrymen, the gentle hearts of our countrywomen. You will find that, as long as you keep moving, there is no end to the delights awaiting you. But you must keep moving, Feliu. Even when the heart skips; even when the view blurs. ~ Andromeda Romano-Lax
Learned To Love quotes by Andromeda Romano-Lax
I would get songs sung to me, like 'Old Man River, 'or kids would call me Mississippi and things like that. At the time, I wished I had a name that blended in more with my surroundings. Now, though, I've really learned to love it. From fifteen, I really liked it. It felt appropriate. Before that, I don't think it quite fitted me. I had to grow into it . ~ River Phoenix
Learned To Love quotes by River Phoenix
No man ever learned to love God with all his heart, and his neighbour as himself, in a day. ~ Henry Ward Beecher
Learned To Love quotes by Henry Ward Beecher
So, let's all take one more step. We have learned to love ourselves, so now I urge you to speak yourself.

I would like to ask all of you. What is your name? What excites you and makes your heart beat?

Tell me your story. I want to hear your voice, and I want to hear your conviction. No matter who you are, where you're from, your skin colour, gender identity: speak yourself.

Find your name, find your voice by speaking yourself. ~ Kim Namjoon
Learned To Love quotes by Kim Namjoon
Standing at the edge of time
Almost falling down to the dark abyss
As I near the end of mine
I reminisce the things I will miss

The smiles and laughter
Running around without a care
The time when my grin will never falter
Being so free, willing my soul to bare

Heartaches, heartbreaks and tears
Now I know better and to myself I will never lie
Because in woe, I learned to love and never fear
Those were the best and worst moments of my life

As the memories rush back to me
I look down and now I feel relieved
Because when it is time
Everything will be fine when I leave ~ Isabelle Guzman
Learned To Love quotes by Isabelle Guzman
It was a feeling that I could be a little different from everyone else of my age, and that, if pushed, I could battle against the forces of nature and prevail. Adventure felt the most natural thing in the world, and it was where I came alive. It is what made me feel, for the first time, really myself.
As I got older and the rest of my world got more complicated and unnatural, I sought more and more the identity and wholeness that adventure gave me.
In short, when I was wet, muddy, and cold, I felt like a million dollars, and when I was with the lads, with everyone desperately trying to be "cool," I felt more awkward and unsure of myself. I could do mud, but trying to be cool was never a success.
So I learned to love the former and shy away from the latter.
(Although I gave "cool" a brief, good go as a young teenager, buying winklepicker boots and listening to heavy metal records all through one long winter, both of which were wholly unsatisfying, and subsequently dropped as "boring.")
Instead, I would often dress up in my "worst" (aka my best) and dirtiest clothes, stand under the hosepipe in the garden, get soaking wet--in December--and then go off for a run on my own in the hills.
The locals thought me a bit bonkers, but my dog loved it, and I loved it. It felt wild, and it was a feeling that captured me more and more.
Once, I returned from one such run caked in mud and ran past a girl I quite fancied. I wondered if she might like the mudd ~ Bear Grylls
Learned To Love quotes by Bear Grylls
I think imperfection is beauty. Instead of being insecure about my muscles, I've learned to love them. I don't even think of it as a flaw anymore because it's made me into the athlete that I am. ~ Aly Raisman
Learned To Love quotes by Aly Raisman
Charlie and I discovered at a really young at that we had a passion for figure skating, and I think that passion drives us to work every day to improve and grow. We have really learned to love our sport more and more, year to year. And the hard work really pays off. ~ Meryl Davis
Learned To Love quotes by Meryl Davis
During the season, they saw each other and played together almost every day. At the aunt's request, seconded by Professor Valérius, Daaé consented to give the young viscount some violin lessons. In this way, Raoul learned to love the same airs that had charmed Christine's childhood. They also both had the same calm and dreamy little cast of mind. They delighted in stories, in old Breton legends; and their favorite sport was to go and ask for them at the cottage-doors, like beggars:
"Ma'am..." or, "Kind gentleman... have you a little story to tell us, please?"
And it seldom happened that they did not have one "given" them; for nearly every old Breton grandame has, at least once in her life, seen the "korrigans" dance by moonlight on the heather.
But their great treat was, in the twilight, in the great silence of the evening, after the sun had set in the sea, when Daaé came and sat down by them on the roadside and in a low voice, as though fearing lest he should frighten the ghosts whom he loved, told them the legends of the land of the North. And, the moment he stopped, the children would ask for more.
There was one story that began:
"A king sat in a little boat on one of those deep still lakes that open like a bright eye in the midst of the Norwegian mountains..."
And another:
"Little Lotte thought of everything and nothing. Her hair was golden as the sun's rays and her soul as clear and blue as her eyes. She wheedled her mother, was kind to ~ Gaston Leroux
Learned To Love quotes by Gaston Leroux
I don't sense that people are loving the adults the way they have learned to love kids, because the truth is, they're not going to be cute in the same as kids are. And they shouldn't have to be cute to deserve and merit our attention and support. ~ John Donvan
Learned To Love quotes by John Donvan
I was self-conscious of what I would call my "tree-trunk legs" because they are very muscular ... but now I've learned to love them. ~ Vanessa Hudgens
Learned To Love quotes by Vanessa Hudgens
I have told you, reader, that I had learned to love Mr. Rochester; I could not unlove him now, merely because I found that he had ceased to notice me - because I might pass hours in his presence and he would never once turn his eyes in my direction - because I saw all his attentions appropriated by a great lady, who scorned to touch me with the hem of her robes as she passed; who, if ever her dark and imperious eye fell on me by chance, would withdraw it instantly as from an object too mean to merit observation. I could not unlove him, because I felt sure he would soon marry this very lady - because I read daily in her a proud security in his intentions respecting her - because I witnessed hourly in him a style of courtship which, if careless and choosing rather to be sought than to seek, was yet, in its very carelessness, captivating, and in its very pride, irresistible.

There was nothing to cool or banish love in these circumstances; though much to create despair. Much too, you will think, reader, to engender jealousy, if a woman in my position could presume to be jealous of a woman in Miss Ingram's. But I was not jealous, or very rarely; - the nature of the pain I suffered could not be explained by that word. Miss Ingram was a mark beneath jealousy: she was too inferior to excite the feeling. ~ Charlotte Bronte
Learned To Love quotes by Charlotte Bronte
You have not truly loved, until you have learned to love yourself. ~ Treka L. House
Learned To Love quotes by Treka L. House
When I learned to love you, it was a choice, freely made. When I learned to love me, it was the only option I had left. ~ Anna Corniffe
Learned To Love quotes by Anna Corniffe
I learned to love the unlovable, to forgive the unforgivable, to reach the unreachable, and to teach the unteachable. ~ Leroy McClure
Learned To Love quotes by Leroy McClure
It is said that people learn to hate each other because of little things ... not big ones. I know I have always learned to love because of little things ... I'm not at all sure that there are any big ones. ~ Mercedes McCambridge
Learned To Love quotes by Mercedes McCambridge
I learned what education was expected to do for an individual. Before going there I had a good deal of the then rather prevalent idea among our people that to secure an education meant to have a good, easy time, free from all necessity for manual labor. At Hampton I not only learned that it was not a disgrace to labor, but learned to love labor, not alone for its financial value, but for labor's own sake and for the independence and self-reliance which the ability to do something which the world wants done brings. At that institution I got my first taste of what it meant to live a life of unselfishness, my first knowledge of the fact that the happiest individuals are those who do the most to make others useful and happy. ~ Booker T. Washington
Learned To Love quotes by Booker T. Washington
Said 2,000 years of Christian history, baby
And you ain't learned to love me yet? ~ Nick Cave
Learned To Love quotes by Nick Cave
I think the most important thing is you have to learn to love auditioning, which I have definitely learned to love. It's going to be a huge part of your career, even if you're right at the top. You're still going to have to audition sometimes, and if you don't learn to love that, that's such a big part of what you're job's going to be. ~ Megan Park
Learned To Love quotes by Megan Park
We really don't know how to love each other because we haven't really learned to love ourselves. In many instances, not all, it's not malicious. We've just been conditioned to such bad behavior. ~ Iyanla Vanzant
Learned To Love quotes by Iyanla Vanzant
Their love story: It's when logic fell in love with paranoia and paranoia learned to love logic; logic grounded paranoia and paranoia turned up the heat because logic never knew where that heat would come from. Logic needs to be stimulated and paranoia needs to be soothed and therefore they need each other, which resulted in the birth of combustion. The end. ~ Donna Lynn Hope
Learned To Love quotes by Donna Lynn Hope
and i've learned to love loneliness because unlike you it never leaves ~ Beau Taplin
Learned To Love quotes by Beau Taplin
When I let go of everyone's problems and focused on me, I gained a lot of knowledge about myself I didn't know. I finally realized the definition of peace, joy, love, and happiness. When I started to give more to myself, I learned to love myself wholeheartedly.
Most importantly, I learned that nobody would love me more than I love myself. I am the only person who will love hard on me. Therefore, I learned how to live in a self-fulfilling mode, and I wouldn't have it any other way! ~ Charlena E. Jackson
Learned To Love quotes by Charlena E. Jackson
When messengers are sent to minister to the inhabitants of this earth, they are not strangers, but from the ranks of our kindred, friends, and fellow beings. Our fathers and mothers, brothers, sisters and friends who have passed away from this earth ... bringing messages of love, warning, reproof and instruction, to those whom they had learned to love in the flesh. ~ Joseph Fielding Smith
Learned To Love quotes by Joseph Fielding Smith
Jeff heard a question, "echoed into every cell of my being. The question was simply, 'To what degree have you learned to love? ~ John Burke
Learned To Love quotes by John Burke
I wish I could look back and say that I have learned to love as much as I loved to learn. But if I like, there could be a cauldron boiling for me in hell tomorrow, and who can assure me tomorrow is not already on my doorstep, now that I am as old as an oak tree, and still not consigned to the grave? ~ Elif Shafak
Learned To Love quotes by Elif Shafak
I have nice ears. I have no lobes, which was disappointing for a while, but I've gotten over it and learned to love them. Being lobeless isn't the end of the world ~ Natalie Portman
Learned To Love quotes by Natalie Portman
We need wilderness because we are wild animals. Everyone needs a place where he can go to go crazy in peace. For the terror, freedom, and delirium. Because we need brutality and raw adventure, because men and women first learned to love in, under, and all around trees, because we need for every pair of feet and legs about ten leagues of naked nature, crags to leap from, mountains to measure by, deserts to finally die in when the heart fails. ~ Edward Abbey
Learned To Love quotes by Edward Abbey
I would rather instill in my amateur students love, than knowledge, of music. Left with only knowledge, they will at the end close their books and consign the course to forgetfulness. But if they have learned to love but the smallest part of the art, they are likely to pursue some phase of it the rest of their lives. ~ Ernst Bacon
Learned To Love quotes by Ernst Bacon
Many fathers and mothers are simply more satisfied with a child's conformity and less concerned with the youngster's motivation and hidden desires, with what the Bible calls "the thoughts of the heart." Often unconsciously, the self-centered parent labors to form an orderly child who performs well in public and does not shame the family by disturbing the status quo. The problem, of course, is not with the orderliness of the child, but with the shaping of a person with a desensitized conscience, a performer who has never learned to love God or people from the heart (pp. 160-161). ~ C. John Miller
Learned To Love quotes by C. John Miller
I've finally learned to love my voice for its uniqueness. ~ Juliana Hatfield
Learned To Love quotes by Juliana Hatfield
But please know, whether you believe campaign contributions are speech or property, that I learned to love very dearly the right of free expression when I lived without that freedom for a while a long time ago. ~ John McCain
Learned To Love quotes by John McCain
Somewhat leaky boat are on the lookout for a human companion. Not me. I have learned to love the inside of my own head. There isn't much I'd rather say than think. Of course for more than thirty years I've had Chuck. We've known each other so long that we don't have to talk, and when we do we don't have to say anything. When he asks me if I'd like to take a trip around the world I can say yes knowing I'll never have to go. ~ Abigail Thomas
Learned To Love quotes by Abigail Thomas
I was never appalled by myself. I felt a little bit uneasy about certain things. But honestly I've learned to love myself and to see that in the midst of all my ambition and desire to succeed and my search for approval, I do give things to people. I bring some sort of happiness to their lives. So I'm not so hard on myself anymore. ~ Madonna Ciccone
Learned To Love quotes by Madonna Ciccone
We could play them through the week, and then the weekend we could play the black joints. I learned to be very versatile and learned to love it. So it stays with me even up to now. ~ Little Milton
Learned To Love quotes by Little Milton
She has learned to love. To fear. To hate. And then to love again. Through it all, she writes." ~Once Upon A Time There Was A Girl ~ Kimberly Kinrade
Learned To Love quotes by Kimberly Kinrade
Heloise learned to love Abelard solely for who he was. That forbidden love brought her nothing but pain, but she would rather have shame and pain with Abelard than peace and happiness without him. ~ Gary Thomas
Learned To Love quotes by Gary Thomas
I love networking. But I learned to love it ~ Jamal Igle
Learned To Love quotes by Jamal Igle
(Did you love your wife) I convinced myself I did when I married. I willed myself into the appropriate feelings without knowing what the appropriate feelings were. I endowed her with qualities she did not have and then despised her for not having them. Afterwards I might have learned to love her if I had thought more of her needs and less of my own. ~ P.D. James
Learned To Love quotes by P.D. James
And what happens around us ,simply happens because we haven't learned to love .
Till this moment ,people would have to go through the same paths ,experience similar events ,blinded ,full of wrath, imprisoned and bounded by themselves.
They will star at their fellows seeing what they are unable to see on themselves ... Themselves! ~ Katerina Kostaki
Learned To Love quotes by Katerina Kostaki
Because of You
Because of you, I can hear the angels sing.
Because of you, I know gratitude.
Because of you, I am not afraid.
Because of you, I like the sound of my own voice.
Because of you, I see the night sky for the first time.
Because of you, I am inspired to be greater.
Because of you, I have learned to laugh.
Because of you, I can stop the rain.
Because of you, I my tears have dried.
Because of you, I fell passion.
Because of you, I have learned to love again.
Because of you, I am me.
Thank you. ~ Beryl Dov
Learned To Love quotes by Beryl Dov
Eternal Love,
Distance is the salvation of my life, it is the magic of our love, thanks to that magic, I have finally learned to love you, from a distance. Go, but go far from me, I have a fear of losing you. Don't come close, please, do not destroy our love. I don't want to lose you. Distance has returned the love that was no longer there. Please don't ever return, because we've both discovered the essence of what we have. Distance will carry our love through eternity! Eternal love that only distance can keep alive. ~ Sergio Figueira Correia
Learned To Love quotes by Sergio Figueira Correia
How much do I love our family? This much. When any kind of emergency strikes, good or bad, we snap together like parts in a machine, like a submarine crew at war in the tin-can clutter of our home, none of the usual debate, character assassination, woeful monologues, and turgid hand-wringing. I've learned to love crises for this reason, how they make us pull together and forget our separateness and sadness; this was the second great gift of the moonfish. ~ Shaun Tan
Learned To Love quotes by Shaun Tan
Twelve years ago I left Boston and New York, and moved east and west at the same time. East, to a little village in Devon, England, a town I've been familiar with for years, since my friends Brian and Wendy Froud and Alan Lee all live there. It had long been my dream to live in England, so I finally bought a little old cottage over there. But I decided, both for visa and health reasons, living there half the year would be better than trying to cope with cold, wet Dartmoor winters. At that point, Beth Meacham had moved out to Arizona, and I discovered how wonderful the Southwest is, particularly in the wintertime. Now I spend every winter-spring in Tucson and every summer-autumn in England. Both places strongly affect my writing and my painting. They're very opposite landscapes, and each has a very different mythic history. In Tucson, the population is a mix of Native Americans, Mexican Americans, and Euro-Americans of various immigrant backgrounds - so the folklore of the place is a mix of all those things, as well as the music and the architecture. The desert has its own colors, light, and rhythms. In Devon, by contrast, it's all Celtic and green and leafy, and the color palette of the place comes straight out of old English paintings - which is more familiar to me, growing up loving the Pre-Raphaelites and England's 'Golden Age' illustrators. I've learned to love an entirely different palette in Arizona, where the starkness of the desert is offset by the brilliance of t ~ Terri Windling
Learned To Love quotes by Terri Windling
There was a time when he'd envied anyone who left Acker's Gap, when he watched them go and felt a kind of wild yearning--but something was shifting inside him. There was a certain solace to knowing a world this well. You knew its flaws, its shortcomings, just as you knew its beauties. And you learned to love it all. You loved the abundance of it, the sweep and immensity of the land, and you loved the sadness and the lack, too.To walk each day on ground that had given rise to you: that was a privilege. Not a curse. ~ Julia Keller
Learned To Love quotes by Julia Keller
A snowflake falls, so tenderly on your lips, I have learned to love this winter. ~ Kristian Goldmund Aumann
Learned To Love quotes by Kristian Goldmund Aumann
Until I learned to love myself, I was never ever lovin' nobody else. ~ Madonna Ciccone
Learned To Love quotes by Madonna Ciccone
I learned to love myself, because I sleep with myself every night and I wake up with myself every morning, and if I don't like myself, there's no reason to even live the life. ~ Gabourey Sidibe
Learned To Love quotes by Gabourey Sidibe
I have a great deal of sympathy for reluctant readers because I was one. I would do anything to avoid reading. In my case, it wasn't until I was 13 and discovered the 'Lord of the Rings' that I learned to love reading. ~ Rick Riordan
Learned To Love quotes by Rick Riordan
But it is His long-term policy, I fear, to restore to them a new kind of self-love - a charity and gratitude for all selves, including their own; when they have really learned to love their neighbours as themselves, they will be allowed to love themselves as their neighbours. For we must never forget what is the most repellent and inexplicable trait in our Enemy; He really loves the hairless bipeds He has created and always gives back to them with His right hand what He has taken away with His left. ~ C.S. Lewis
Learned To Love quotes by C.S. Lewis
Because comedy is cheap to put on: if you've got a play or an opera, there's a whole load of people and a set, but comedy is just one man or woman. And because TV has learned to love comics - there's so many more around now than when I started out. ~ Arthur Smith
Learned To Love quotes by Arthur Smith
But then she hadn't just learned to love this summer – she had also learned how to need. ~ Ann Brashares
Learned To Love quotes by Ann Brashares
I finally learned to love myself by dressing up as Geri Halliwell. ~ Matt Lucas
Learned To Love quotes by Matt Lucas
Bitterness filled his heart, and he learned to love the feel of its magic.(Darius) ~ Madison Thorne Grey

When you have learned to love and control yourself, then you become the master of yourself. ~ Debasish Mridha
Learned To Love quotes by Debasish Mridha
From the time I learned to love Jade and was drawn into the life of the Butterfield house, straight through to the wait for my case to come before the judge, there was nothing in my life that wasn't alive with meaning, that wasn't capable of suggesting weird and hidden significances, that didn't carry with it the undertaste of what for lack of anything better to call it I'll call The Infinite. If being in love is to be suddenly united with the most unruly, the most outrageously alive part of yourself, this state of piercing consciousness did not subside in me, as I've learned it does in others, after a time. If my mind could have made a sound, it would have burst a row of wineglasses. I saw coincidences everywhere; meanings darted and danced like overheated molecules. Everything was terrifyingly complex; everything was terrifyingly simple. Nothing went unnoticed and everything carried with it a kind of drama. ~ Scott Spencer
Learned To Love quotes by Scott Spencer
You wish you could've learned to play piano. You wish you could've started drawing when you were young. You wish you could've figured out who you wanted to be before you graduated college. You wish you could've learned to love yourself sooner. Well you know what? You didn't. And that's just something you're going to have to learn to deal with. But just because you didn't do it sooner, doesn't mean you can't start now. ~ Daren Colbert
Learned To Love quotes by Daren Colbert
A child her wayward pencil drew
On margins of her book;
Garlands of flower, dancing elves,
Bud, butterfly, and brook,
Lessons undone, and plum forgot,
Seeking with hand and heart
The teacher whom she learned to love
Before she knew t'was Art. ~ Louisa May Alcott
Learned To Love quotes by Louisa May Alcott
Surprisingly, girls with cats make the best girlfriends. Because they've learned to love something selfish and dumb- like your childish ass. ~ Unknown
Learned To Love quotes by Unknown
I learned to love despair. ~ Lord Byron
Learned To Love quotes by Lord Byron
I didn't know how to say it, but I'd learned to love Dale. More than I ever thought I could. I loved the rush of the river and the hundred different shades of green. The sun on the hills and the shadows of the valleys. The smell of the air first thing in the morning and the last breath at night. The rhythms and sounds. Also, the people who made their way through this place. Like you. And me too. We tried to make things better, but we also made do with what we had. We weren't too proud to scratch and scrape by. We knew how to spot beauty within the rough. ~ Sarah Tomp
Learned To Love quotes by Sarah Tomp
I care about me now. When I didn't care about me, I was, like, 'Why is this going wrong? Why is my life so bad?' But when you don't care about yourself, nobody else is going to care about you. So I learned to love myself, even if nobody else does. ~ Mary J. Blige
Learned To Love quotes by Mary J. Blige
I look down at his hand and laugh without quite knowing why. "You deserve some sort of
reward for putting up with me."
"You're my reward."
"Shit reward I am."
"Why do you think everyone needs some sort of recompense for being around you?" he says,
his voice so gentle I almost start to cry. ~ Mackenzi Lee
Learned To Love quotes by Mackenzi Lee
To The Rain"

You reach me out of the age of the air
clear
falling toward me
each one new
if any of you has a name
it is unknown

but waited for you here
that long
for you to fall through it knowing nothing

hem of the garment
do not wait
until I can love all that I am to know
for maybe that will never be

touch me this time
let me love what I cannot know
as the man born blind may love color
until all that he loves
fills him with color ~ W.S. Merwin
Learned To Love quotes by W.S. Merwin
Nd love is not swayed by opinions; love accepts its companion unconditionally and allows each to grow in his or her own way ~ Paulo Coelho
Learned To Love quotes by Paulo Coelho
As far as anyone could tell, Portia had learned to partition its cognitive processes: almost as if it were emulating a larger brain piece by piece, saving the results of one module to feed into the next. Slices of intellect, built and demolished one after another. No one would ever know for sure - a rogue synthophage had taken out the world's Salticids before anyone had gotten around to taking a closer look - but the Icarus slime mold seemed to have taken the same basic idea and run with it. ~ Peter Watts
Learned To Love quotes by Peter Watts
Let's not beat around the bush. Life is one great big wonderful but terrifying adventure. It can be as brutal as it is beautiful. There are no do-overs. We get a single shot to make it home. And guess what? We all wander and find ourselves lost from time to time. Enter our Savior. The One whose love and power to heal and example to guide is so magnificent that our frail human minds can't begin to comprehend. ~ Toni Sorenson
Learned To Love quotes by Toni Sorenson
Shut up ... let me tell you, LET ME. Every time I look at your face or even remember it, it wrecks me. And the way you are with me and you're just fun and you shit all over me and you make fun of me and you're real. I don't have enough time in any day to think about you enough ... I don't even think about women anymore. I think about you. ~ Louis C.K.
Learned To Love quotes by Louis C.K.
Everything in the least connected with him has value for me; if someone even mentions his name it is like a little present to me
and I long to mention it myself, I start subjects leading up to it, and then feel myself going red. I keep swearing to myself not to speak of him again- and then an opportunity occurs and I jump at it. ~ Dodie Smith
Learned To Love quotes by Dodie Smith
Gods of all the world, say something," she cried, and Talat startled beneath her.
"I love you," said Luthe. "I will love you till the stars crumble, which is a less idle threat than is usual to lovers on parting. Go quickly, for I cannot bear this."
She closed her legs violently around the nervous Talat, and he leaped into a gallop. Long after Aerin was out of sight, Luthe lay full length upon the ground, and pressed his ear to it, and listened to Talat's hoofbeats carrying Aerin farther and farther away. ~ Robin McKinley
