Home Cooking quotes by Nora Ephron
I was a good Indian girl, but naughty in that I would often sneak out of the back door and into the garden and go off with my friends when I should have been at home cooking or cleaning. ~ Gurinder Chadha
Home Cooking quotes by Gurinder Chadha
Cooking is at once one of the simplest and most gratifying of the arts, but to cook well one must love and respect food. ~ Craig Claiborne
Home Cooking quotes by Craig Claiborne
I'm a home cook, and I'm constantly embarrassed by twentysomethings who really do know the mechanics of cooking. How to build a sauce. ~ Ruth Reichl
Home Cooking quotes by Ruth Reichl

Home Cooking quotes by Blake Lively
There are so many things that come into writing a recipe, and it's really important if you're writing for home cooks to be cooking like you are at home. ~ Sally Schneider

Home Cooking quotes by Mary McLeary
Am going to cook shepherd's pie for them all - British home cooking. ~ Helen Fielding
Home Cooking quotes by Helen Fielding
They projected an illusion of warmth with their home-cooking and hand-stitched quilts, yet underneath the facade was an institutional rigidity, as if they were running an orphanage where children would be fed and cared for but never loved. Love was such a key ingredient in molding humans, yet it was inaccessible to kids inside of the system. ~ Renee Carlino
Home Cooking quotes by Renee Carlino
I am actually really boring and I lead a quiet life. I love being at home, cooking for my boys, watching movies and I like nothing better than to go to bed early with a book. ~ Patsy Kensit
Home Cooking quotes by Patsy Kensit
In theory, food writing is an aid or a prelude to actual meals: you read a recipe, and then you cook. In practice - in a 'paradox' that Michael Pollan, among others, has identified - our current gastronomic fantasies, particularly on TV, have coincided with a decline in home cooking. ~ Bee Wilson
Home Cooking quotes by Bee Wilson
It is odd how all men develop the notion, as they grow older, that their mothers were wonderful cooks. I have yet to meet a man who will admit that his mother was a kitchen assassin and nearly poisoned him. ~ Robertson Davies
Home Cooking quotes by Robertson Davies
I never see any home cooking - all I get is fancy stuff. ~ Prince Philip
Home Cooking quotes by Prince Philip
Home cooking. Where many a man thinks his wife is. ~ Jimmy Durante
Home Cooking quotes by Jimmy Durante
I still cook at home. A lot of chefs I think don't cook at home. But I still do, I love cooking at home, I love having friends. ~ Rene Redzepi
Home Cooking quotes by Rene Redzepi
An ounce of sequins can be worth a pound of home cooking. ~ Marilyn Vos Savant
Home Cooking quotes by Marilyn Vos Savant
I think I'm pretty laid back. I like cooking, being at home, and going to concerts. And I love to shop! ~ Misty Copeland
Home Cooking quotes by Misty Copeland
Most cooks try to learn by making dishes. Doesn't mean you can cook. It means you can make that dish. When you can cook is when you can go to a farmers market, buy a bunch of stuff, then go home and make something without looking at a recipe. Now you're cooking. ~ Tom Colicchio
Home Cooking quotes by Tom Colicchio
When I came back from Pakistan, I wanted to take computer classes nearby. I asked my brother. I was in my home, cooking for my family, and all our relatives and guests. But I said, "I want to live my life as a woman, but I want to study." But, he told me, "Just study at home, you don't need to go out." He said, "If you go to the courses, what will our relatives say? They will lose respect for us." They told me, "We know you're feeling different, but we cannot do anything about it." ~ Malina Suliman
Home Cooking quotes by Malina Suliman
'Grandmother' doesn't mean that you have gray hair and you retire and stay home cooking cakes for your grandchildren. ~ Carine Roitfeld
Home Cooking quotes by Carine Roitfeld
Today's orthodoxy thrives on someone else doing the cooking. The single-service packet from the supermarket has replaced the sit-down home-cooked meal as the most common food choice. Easy foodism disengages people from the process and creates a level of food illiteracy unthinkable just a few short decades ago. ~ Joel Salatin
Home Cooking quotes by Joel Salatin
In Paris and later in Marseille, I was surrounded by some of the best food in the world, and I had an enthusiastic audience in my husband, so it seemed only logical that I should learn how to cook 'la cuisine bourgeoise' - good, traditional French home cooking. ~ Julia Child
Home Cooking quotes by Julia Child
Home cooking is the true embodiment of love. It makes us show patience, kindness, humility, hope, and perseverance. ~ Agus Ekanurdi
Home Cooking quotes by Agus Ekanurdi
There's just so much love that goes into home cooking, and I think it will really help the American family overall. I'm hoping to maybe get a cookbook out one day because I've got some great family recipes. ~ Ming-Na Wen
Home Cooking quotes by Ming-Na Wen
The most indespensible ingredient of all good home cooking: love for those you are cooking for. ~ Sophia Loren
Home Cooking quotes by Sophia Loren
the difference between restaurant cooking and home cooking - and often, too, the difference between great flavor and tasteless food - is two things: more heat and more seasoning. His constant refrain as he made his way around the kitchen: "More heat. More salt. More butter. ~ Shauna Niequist
Home Cooking quotes by Shauna Niequist
No curfew. I live in the basement. I got everything I need. Home cooking ... it's awesome. ~ Mike Trout
Home Cooking quotes by Mike Trout
I do probably 80 or 90 per cent of the cooking at home. ~ Colm Meaney
Home Cooking quotes by Colm Meaney
We invariably come back to testing as a means of understanding drug use, even though assuming these tests lead to truth puts one on shaky ground. You simply can't prove something to be true or false if the means of confirmation are easily questioned. Consider how the National Survey on Drug Use and Health concludes every four years how many meth addicts there are in the United States. First, surveyors ask employers to give their employees a questionnaire on drug use. The survey asks employees whether they have done amphetamines (not specifically methamphetamines) in their lifetime, in the last year, and/or in the last six months. First, it seems unlikely that drug addicts will take this completely optional test; will answer truthfully if they do take it; and will even be at work in the first place--as opposed to home cooking meth. Further, since methamphetamine is just one of a broad class of stimulants in the amphetamine family, an answer of yes to the question about using one amphetamine can't be taken as an answer of yes to using another. And yet, for the study's purposes, anyone who says they've done any kind of amphetamine in the last six months is considered "addicted to amphetamines," and--in a way that is impossible to understand--a certain percentage of these responders is deemed addicted to crank. ~ Nick Reding
Home Cooking quotes by Nick Reding
When I'm home, I cook. I love cooking for people. ~ Emily Saliers
Home Cooking quotes by Emily Saliers
I like being at home and cooking. ~ Shania Twain
Home Cooking quotes by Shania Twain
Cooking at home is easier than cooking in the restaurant because you don't have to write a menu or try to please everybody. ~ Jean-Georges Vongerichten
Home Cooking quotes by Jean-Georges Vongerichten
In London there was no home cooking worthy of the name. When you were in funds you ate out. But only the people whose faces appeared in such publications as Town and Queen could afford to eat in restaurants serving food which would leave them looking and feeling better instead of worse. ~ Clive James
Home Cooking quotes by Clive James
A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe. ~ Thomas Keller
Home Cooking quotes by Thomas Keller
Prayer reveals to souls the vanity of earthly goods and pleasures. It fills them with light, strength and consolation; and gives them a foretaste of the calm bliss of our heavenly home. ~ Rose Of Viterbo
Home Cooking quotes by Rose Of Viterbo
They do not easily rise whose abilities are repressed by poverty at home.
[Lat., Haud facile emergunt quorum virtutibus obstat
Res angusta domi.] ~ Juvenal
Home Cooking quotes by Juvenal

Home Cooking quotes by Tyler Florence

Home Cooking quotes by Anthony Warlow
That's what family does: They bring home with them. ~ Elizabeth May
Home Cooking quotes by Elizabeth May
A big birthday party, a family vacation, or other large-scale events like those are all wonderful, precious, and such a treat. But it's the day-to-day little things that we do - cleaning our home and our bodies, caring for ourselves in sickness and in health, nurturing a new baby - that carry the biggest impact in our lives and the lives of our children. ~ Amanda Blake Soule
Home Cooking quotes by Amanda Blake Soule
Luther Burbank was born in a brick farmhouse in Lancaster Mass,
he walked through the woods one winter
crunching through the shinycrusted snow
stumbling into a little dell where a warm spring was
and found the grass green and weeds sprouting
and skunk cabbage pushing up a potent thumb,
He went home and sat by the stove and read Darwin
Struggle for Existence Origin of Species Natural
Selection that wasn't what they taught in church,
so Luther Burbank ceased to believe moved to Lunenburg,
found a seedball in a potato plant
sowed the seed and cashed in on Darwin's Natural Selection
on Spencer and Huxley
with the Burbank potato.

Young man go west;
Luther Burbank went to Santa Rosa
full of his dream of green grass in winter ever-
blooming flowers ever-
bearing berries; Luther Burbank
could cash in on Natural Selection Luther Burbank
carried his apocalyptic dream of green grass in winter
and seedless berries and stoneless plums and thornless roses brambles cactus -
winters were bleak in that bleak
brick farmhouse in bleak Massachusetts -
out to sunny Santa Rosa;
and he was a sunny old man
where roses bloomed all year
everblooming everbearing
hybrids.

America was hybrid
America could cash in on Natural Selection.
He was an infidel he believed in Darwin and Natural
Selection and the influence of the mighty deadJohn Dos Passos
Home Cooking quotes by John Dos Passos

Home Cooking quotes by Will Ferrell
But as Luca slid into my passenger seat to accept my offer of a ride home, the most pressing question was already weighing heavy on my mind. What does a warrior princess wear for her first day on the throne? ~ Rachel Vincent
Home Cooking quotes by Rachel Vincent
Readers are made, not born. Few students spring out of the ground fully formed as readers. They need help, and we cannot assume that they will get it from home, but they should always get it from us, their teachers. ~ Donalyn Miller
Home Cooking quotes by Donalyn Miller
There are so many places, particularly right now. Go and volunteer at a food bank. If you play the piano, go play the piano in an Alzheimer's home. Or read in an Alzheimer's home. Help a military family with babysitting. The opportunities are endless. People often think 'They want me?' or 'I can be of help?' What we try to say here is 'Be who you are.'Feel that, live it and pass it on. ~ Maria Shriver
Home Cooking quotes by Maria Shriver
No one can walk beneath palm trees with impunity, and ideas are sure to change in a land where elephants and tigers are at home. ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Home Cooking quotes by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
If you looked in magazines ... you never see me in those out-on-the-town pages. I'm either at home playing with the kids or I'm working. ~ Billy Bob Thornton
Home Cooking quotes by Billy Bob Thornton
Money can buy a house, but not a home; a bed, but not rest; food, but not an appetite; medicine, but not health; information, but not wisdom; thrills, but not joy; associates, but not friends; servants, but not loyalty; flattery, but not respect. ~ Pat Williams
Home Cooking quotes by Pat Williams
I'm trying to inspire as many people as I can. I want the viewer to enjoy the art and I want the whole family to have something to react to. I hope that folks go home and do a bit of doodling and creating on their own. ~ Nathan Sawaya
Home Cooking quotes by Nathan Sawaya
It's one thing to sit at home and write a piece with your guitar, and quite another to have it performed by four people. For me, it's always trial and error. ~ John Scofield
Home Cooking quotes by John Scofield
I'm fine, and my hips are fine. My false knee is fine. My false hips are fine. Everything's cooking. ~ Liza Minnelli
Home Cooking quotes by Liza Minnelli
Do not make homes out of people. This will leave you homesick and sad. ~ K.Michelle
Home Cooking quotes by K.Michelle
I live a dual life. On the red carpet, it's complete glam. But at home, I'm a jeans and T-shirt kind of girl. Simple can be beautiful. ~ Ashley Greene
Home Cooking quotes by Ashley Greene
Beli thought about it a moment. Thought about La Inca waiting for her at home. Thought about the heartbreak that was beginning to fade in her. Yes. I want to go. There it was, the decision that changed everything. Or as she broke it down to Lola in her last days. All I wanted was to dance. What I got instead was "esto", she said, opening her arms to encompass the hospital, her children, her cancer, America. ~ Junot Diaz
Home Cooking quotes by Junot Diaz
Dear lady, ... dear gentleman, reader, [it's] not right ... to put down this writer on his writing ... And I'll tell you why, too: it hurts, that's why.... People try to understand why writers commit suicide by jumping off boats or by alcoholism or by being heroic continuously or by rope or gun or drug or knife or water, and ... I can tell you straight out, ... it is reading slurring remarks about their writing that drives writers to the grave. Dirty remarks passed by ... dirty but damned nicely educated and very highly-paid ladies and gentlemen have the effect of killing writers. Yes, that's right. Dirty words ... in slick paper magazines read by smart people do assassinate writers. ... And boy let me tell you I am all for it, even when by some ... misunderstanding the dirty words are directed to me rather than to the party really deserving them. Accidents happen, dear clever reviewer or critic, and let it not be said that William Saroyan is one not to see a situation from the point of view of the other party, ... and I shall be the first to defend your right to be critical and even sarcastic, knowing full well that it is not about me and my writing, although my name is by mistake taken in vain by you. ... But go on, go on, do your good clever writing, every one of you, I am home, your are home, and we are each of us not yet on Variety's Necrology list, so if we can't take it, who can? ~ William Saroyan
Home Cooking quotes by William Saroyan
Billions of dollars, trying unsuccessfully to keep drugs out of the world's most porous border? One-tenth of the anti-drug budget going into education and treatment, nine-tenths of those billions into interdiction? And not enough money from anywhere going into the root causes of the drug problem itself. And the billions spent keeping drug offenders locked up in prison, the cells now so crowded we have to give early release to murderers. Not to mention the fact that two-thirds of all the "non-drug" offenses in America are committed by people high on dope or alcohol. And our solutions are the same futile non-solutions - build more prisons, hire more police, spend more and more billions of dollars not curing the symptoms while we ignore the disease. Most people in my area who want to kick drugs can't afford to get into a treatment program unless they have blue-chip health insurance, which most of them don't. And there's a six-month-to-two-year waiting list to get a bed in a subsidized treatment program. We're spending almost $2 billion poisoning cocaine crops and kids over here, while there's no money at home to help someone who wants to get off drugs. It's insanity. ~ Don Winslow
Home Cooking quotes by Don Winslow
I can really only can record at home. ~ Julia Kent
Home Cooking quotes by Julia Kent
I arrive home with pink flushed cheeks and glittering green-blue eyes. The hardest part is the his smell that lingers on my skin. He is here and yet he isn't here at all. It is only a trick of the mind; a terrible delusion that leaves me with pale, white arms grasping out into the shallow blunt, blackness for someone who is far away. Someone who leaves you feeling utterly and beautifully broken. ~ Elizabeth Heller
Home Cooking quotes by Elizabeth Heller
Stories of hiding out and near captures abound, including a humorous account of President Wilford Woodruff escaping capture because he was weeding a garden at the Squire home near downtown St. George wearing an oversized "Old Mother Hubbard" dress and bonnet sewn for him by young Sister Emma Squire. She wrote: "Soon after our marriage the president of the Church, Wilford Woodruff, came to live with us. It was the time of the raid, when the Government took the property away from the Mormon people...and they were hunting all the men that had plural wives and putting them in jail. ... We had some neighbors that knew we had someone staying with us, and they were very anxious to [discover] who it was. ... [So] I made [President Woodruff] a Mother Hubbard dress and sun bonnet and...dress[ed] him up ... and disguise[d] him so he could come [and go]. ... We called him Grandma Allen so the people wouldn't know. ~ Blaine M. Yorgason
Home Cooking quotes by Blaine M. Yorgason
There's so much around, you don't know what to listen to. All I've got at home is Bo Diddley, some Stones and Beatles stuff, and old jazz records. ~ Syd Barrett
Home Cooking quotes by Syd Barrett
Horace sniffed the pleasant smell of wood smoke from the chimney. "Hope they're cooking something," he said. "I'm starved." "Who said that?" Will asked, feigning surprise and looking around in all directions. Then he pretended to relax. "Oh, it's only you, Horace. I didn't see you there in that cloak." Horace favored him with a long-suffering look. "Will, if it wasn't funny the first half-dozen times you said it, why do you think it would be funny now?" And ~ John Flanagan
Home Cooking quotes by John Flanagan
Cooking is about creating something delicious for someone else. ~ Ayumi Komura
Home Cooking quotes by Ayumi Komura
Travel is a joy, full of surprises. Perhaps some of the most enjoyable times are those where one comes close to disaster: the risks add spice, and make for great stories when you are safely back home again. ~ Jane Wilson-Howarth
Home Cooking quotes by Jane Wilson-Howarth
America is my home I believe in her promise and I will do what I can to secure that promise for future generations of our children. America is great not because of our military might or our economic strength but because of the greatness of Americans, and I welcome the opportunity to stand shoulder to shoulder, side by side with all of you to preserve our heritage rich in liberty and justice for all. ~ Alberto Gonzales
Home Cooking quotes by Alberto Gonzales
The family that loved me was no longer here. Standing here looking at their graves it rang home how alone I really was. I didn't have family anymore. I would never acknowledge my father's existence after this day. ~ Abbi Glines
Home Cooking quotes by Abbi Glines
To leave home, it's got to be worth leaving. ~ Brad Pitt
Home Cooking quotes by Brad Pitt
Adding chocolate chips to almost anything aside from cookies - pancakes, banana bread, etc. - is just an apology for making an inferior product. "Oh, these are my chocolate-chip pancakes!" Well, then you don't make good pancakes on their own. You can't hide behind a thin veil of chocolate forever, home cooks of America. ~ Bryan Bishop
Home Cooking quotes by Bryan Bishop
When a couple came to class together, it meant something else entirely - food as a solution, a diversion, or, occasionally, a playground. ~ Erica Bauermeister
Home Cooking quotes by Erica Bauermeister
It's amazing to me the number of people who will volunteer to help at church but won't lift a finger to help at home! ~ Joyce Meyer
Home Cooking quotes by Joyce Meyer
Many women assume they can't be good mothers and have challenging careers at the same time, so they might give up trying to do both as they get to a crucial point in their career. Although it can be hard at times, it's important for women to recognize the benefits of working outside the home. ~ Susan Wojcicki
Home Cooking quotes by Susan Wojcicki
She watched his chest rise and fall and remembered and reflected. All her life things had been taken from her: Apollo, Thomas's affection, Mama and Papa, her home, her future. No one had ever asked her opinion, garnered her thoughts on what she wanted or needed. Things had been done to her, but she'd never had the chance to do things. Like a doll on a shelf, she'd been moved about, manipulated, flung aside. ~ Elizabeth Hoyt
Home Cooking quotes by Elizabeth Hoyt
Shortly after I returned home from the Ukraine, I became severely ill with what doctors believed was a parasite. I couldn't hold my food down and lost a lot of weight. Different doctors kept prescribing me antibiotics, but none of them seemed to help. For a couple of months, I was poked and tested in a variety of ways, only to have more questions surface than answers. Then I was sent to an ear, nose, and throat doctor for an evaluation. I was sitting in a waiting room with a bunch of toddlers, when my name was called. By the time I got into the examination room I knew I'd had enough.
"Hey, I'm outta here," I told the doctor. "I'll take my chance with the resurrection."
Well, a couple of weeks later, my insurance agent called me. He was one of my lifelong friends and sounded concerned.
"Hey, Jase," he said. "Your insurance company wants you to see a psychiatrist."
Apparently, the ear, nose, and throat doctor recommended I undergo a full psychiatric evaluation based on my refusal to be examined, along with my speech on the resurrection! Apparently, he thought I was crazy. I convinced my buddy that I didn't need a psychiatrist and eventually got over my illness. I would later read a passage of scripture in the Bible that caused me to smile in reflection on the entire ordeal. Second Corinthians 5:13 says: "If we are out of our mind, as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. ~ Jase Robertson
Home Cooking quotes by Jase Robertson
I think it can be hard for any man to sometimes be upstaged by his wife. So when I'm home, I work very hard to be Todd's wife and Jade's mother. I have no problem going back to those traditional roles. I try to be Giada, the young girl that he met 20 years ago and fell in love with. ~ Giada De Laurentiis
Home Cooking quotes by Giada De Laurentiis
The challenge of ministry in our home is that we do not always feel very "spiritual" when we wash our dishes. It hardly feels significant to scrub our toilet. and we can feel that we are truly ministering when the Lord uses us to communicate a word of wisdom to someone, or He provides an opportunity to share the gospel with our neighbor. That seems like real ministry. And that is real ministry to be sure! But no more so than when we are wiping runny noses or cleaning the bathroom. That is because we have a very narrow view of true spirituality... The Lord wants to help us see the significance of ministry at home. He also wants to expand our vision for the multiple opportunities that we have for ministry in the home. Let's ask the LORD to help us gain a biblical perspective of our ministry at home. ~ Carolyn Mahaney
Home Cooking quotes by Carolyn Mahaney
To receive children's love and to come home to a child who runs to you with a hug, among the
most powerful emotional experiences available. ~ Dennis Prager
