I have learned that the stuff that causes me anxiety, the stuff I instinctively veer away from, is usually a road map to where my own creative growth can be found. So I consciously head toward the places that make me uncomfortable. ~ Merrill Markoe
Creative Anxiety quotes by Merrill Markoe
Creative people ... are distinguished by the fact that they can live with anxiety, even though a high price may be paid in terms of insecurity, sensitivity, and defenselessness for the gift of 'divine madness,' to borrow the term used by the classical Greeks. ~ Rollo May
Creative Anxiety quotes by Rollo May
You are closer than you think and more qualified in your message than you could ever fathom ~ Rebecca Campbell
Creative Anxiety quotes by Rebecca Campbell
I think I'm just too desirable when I'm being creative, and I want to know what I need to do to lessen my attractiveness. If that's even possible. ~ Colleen Hoover
Creative Anxiety quotes by Colleen Hoover
A real education will not teach you to compete; it will teach you to cooperate. It will not teach you to fight and come first. It will teach you to be creative, to be loving, to be blissful, without comparing yourself to others. It will not teach you that you can be happy only when you are the first - that is sheer nonsense. You can't be happy just by being first, and in trying to be first you go through such misery that by the time you become the first you are habituated to misery. ~ Anonymous
Creative Anxiety quotes by Anonymous
It's easy to put the links between the increases in mental illness, depression, ADHD, and the like, with the speed of the modern world. People never get the chance to do nothing, or when they do, they lack the control to prevent their mind from racing off in a thousand different directions. So much so that their doing nothing becomes a thousand different things and the thousand different things becomes stress, anxiety, worry and fear. Left untreated these simple everyday things become well entrenched in our psyches and start to dominate our lives. We have a chronic addiction with doing and we love to use our busyness as a stamp of our hard work and hectic lives and we get stuck in this busy trap of always doing. ~ Evan Sutter
Creative Anxiety quotes by Evan Sutter
Be you, be true to your word, don't sell yourself short and don't waste your life worrying. ~ Sam Owen
Creative Anxiety quotes by Sam Owen
I'm not the creative one. I know that. If Rory Storm hadn't come along ... and then The Beatles ... I would have continued running around in teddyboy gangs. Today, well ... I'd probably be a laborer. I'm glad I'm not, of course. It'll be nice to be part of history ... some sort of history anyway. What I'd like to be is in school history books and be read by kids. ~ Ringo Starr
Creative Anxiety quotes by Ringo Starr
Real evils can be either cured or endured; it is only imaginary evils that make people anxiety-ridden for a lifetime. ~ Earl Nightingale
Creative Anxiety quotes by Earl Nightingale
And then 'Wanderlust,' Ken Marino and David Wain wrote the funniest - they're amazing. That was one of my most favorite creative experiences; we're all up at that commune, a small group of people. Everyone was funnier than the next. It was an amazing ensemble feeling. Everyone gave and took in the best way. ~ Kathryn Hahn
Creative Anxiety quotes by Kathryn Hahn
It may surprise you to hear that what you worry about, the specific content of your worrisome thoughts, isn't usually all that important. What's most important is how you relate to your worrisome thoughts, whatever their content may be. ~ David A. Carbonell
Creative Anxiety quotes by David A. Carbonell
The only way to free yourself from all the anxiety you're feeling about the difficult conversation you know you need to have is by having the difficult conversation. It's time. It's been time. You'll survive it. Just be brave and start talking. ~ Scott Stabile

Creative Anxiety quotes by Doseone

Creative Anxiety quotes by Rachel Dratch
So defendants like Walter McMillian, even in counties that were 40 or 50 percent black, frequently found themselves staring at all-white juries, especially in death penalty cases. Then, in 1986, the Supreme Court ruled in Batson v. Kentucky that prosecutors could be challenged more directly about using peremptory strikes in a racially discriminatory manner, giving hope to black defendants - and forcing prosecutors to find more creative ways to exclude black jurors. ~ Bryan Stevenson
Creative Anxiety quotes by Bryan Stevenson

Through the wholesale destruction of the representatives of a class that from the beginning of history had been the directing and creative force in civilization, a process began which was almost mechanical. ~ Ralph Adams Cram
Creative Anxiety quotes by Ralph Adams Cram
The poetical term fête galante refers to a new genre of paintings and drawings that blossomed in the early 18th century during the [French] Regency period (1715-1723) and whose central figure was Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721). Inspired by images of bucolic merrymaking in the Flemish tradition, Watteau and his followers created a new form, with a certain timelessness, characterised by greater subtlety and nuance.

These depict amorous scenes in settings garlanded with luxuriant vegetation, real or imaginary: idealised dancers, women and shepherds are shown engaged in frivolous pursuits or exchanging confidences. The poetical and fantastical atmospheres that are a mark of his work are accompanied by a quest for elegance and sophistication characteristic of the Rococo movement, which flourished during the Age of Enlightenment, evidenced in his flair for curved lines and light colours.

The flexibility of the fête galante theme proved to be an invitation to experimentation and innovation, and the genre was to inspire several generations of artists, occupying a central place in French art throughout the 18th century. Works by other highly creative painters, such as François Boucher (1703-1770) and Jean-Honoré Fragonard (1732-1806), illustrate their very personal visions of the joys of the fête galante as first imagined by Watteau. ~ Christoph Vogtherr
Creative Anxiety quotes by Christoph Vogtherr
For students who are in the most creative group in America to somehow be presumed to be narrow is just completely meshugga. ~ Gish Jen
Creative Anxiety quotes by Gish Jen
I like writing, and I enjoy it. It's painful. You can't get around the pain of writing. I'm still trying to balance on what I think is my creative habit. It varies, but I do know that I need to continue. It helps me with my acting, and the writing helps me be invested in a different way. ~ Gbenga Akinnagbe
Creative Anxiety quotes by Gbenga Akinnagbe
The creative phase of an idea coincides with the period during which it insists, cantankerously, on its boundaries, on what makes it different; but an idea becomes false and impotent when it seeks reconciliation, at cut-rate prices, with other ideas. ~ Susan Sontag
Creative Anxiety quotes by Susan Sontag

There is no creative expression of artistic value that has ever been produced by ex-drunkards and ex-drug-addicts. Who the hell would bother with a Rolling Stones without booze or with a Jimi Hendrix without heroin? ~ Lars Von Trier
Creative Anxiety quotes by Lars Von Trier
My fear of life is necessary to me, as is my illness. Without anxiety and illness, I am a ship without a rudder. My art is grounded in reflections over being different from others. My sufferings are part of my self and my art. They are indistinguishable from me, and their destruction would destroy my art. I want to keep those sufferings ~ Edvard Munch
Creative Anxiety quotes by Edvard Munch
John Huston is more of a creative director than most. ~ Robert Loggia
Creative Anxiety quotes by Robert Loggia
True celebration should come from your life, in your life. And true celebration cannot be according to the calendar, that on the first of November you will celebrate. Strange, the whole year you are miserable and on the first of November suddenly you come out of misery, dancing. Either, the misery is false, or the first of November is false; both cannot be true. And once the first of November has gone, you are back in your dark hole, everybody in his misery, everybody in his anxiety. ~ Rajneesh
Creative Anxiety quotes by Rajneesh

Like dogs in a wheel, birds in a cage, or squirrels in a chain, ambitious men still climb and climb, with great labor, and incessant anxiety, but never reach the top. ~ Robert Browning
Creative Anxiety quotes by Robert Browning
There was apparent in all a sort of anxiety, a softening of the heart, and a consciousness of some great, unfathomable mystery being accomplished ... the most solemn mystery in the world was being accomplished. Evening passed, night came on. And the feeling of suspense and softening of the heart before the unfathomable did not wane, but grew more intense. No one slept. ~ Leo Tolstoy
Creative Anxiety quotes by Leo Tolstoy
I've been known to write 10 pages a day for 10 days running before I take a breath. I am not a disciplined writer. I'm one of those people who laughingly call themselves inspirational writers, which basically means someone who has no control over their own creative process. ~ Catherine Ryan Hyde
Creative Anxiety quotes by Catherine Ryan Hyde
Since becoming a pop star, I've experimented a lot more. I've gotten more creative with what I wear. My stylist is a bit more adventurous than I would normally be, but it's really worked, and the colours really work together. I think everyone should be a bit more confident: if it's a summer's day, wear some bright colours. ~ Olly Murs
