Let kindness go from us to others with every gift, and good desires with every Christmas greeting. Deliver us from evil by the blessing which Christ brings, and teach us to be merry with a clear heart. May the Christmas morning make us happy to be Thy children, and the Christmas evening bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts, forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake. Amen. - ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON ~ David P. Gushee
Christmas Greeting quotes by David P. Gushee
Let love, joy, hope and peace be the guiding lights during this holiday season. ~ Debasish Mridha
Christmas Greeting quotes by Debasish Mridha
Do you want to know something? I have three pairs of kid gloves. I've had kid mittens before from the Christmas tree, but never real kid gloves with five fingers. I take them out and try them on every little while. It's all I can do not to wear them to classes. ~ Jean Webster
Christmas Greeting quotes by Jean Webster
He brought the tray into the bedroom, then set it on the floor next to the bed. At Kellan's perplexed expression, Vic jerked a thumb over his shoulder. "Hold on, I have to grab one more thing."
Vic scurried to the living room then retrieved the item he wanted. As soon as Kellan's gaze landed on the gift bag holding the stuffed wolf they'd bought at the market, he slapped a hand to his mouth, his eyes glittering, but happy. Vic sat on the bed and placed the bag next to the egg.
"For our baby. I'll always protect and love them as I protect and love you." Vic leaned over and kissed the top of the shell peeking out from under the blankets.
Kellan grabbed Vic's hand, twining their fingers together. "I love you, Vic, my big bad wolf." A lone tear slid down Kellan's cheek, but his smile remained wide. "Merry Christmas."
Vic pressed a kiss to Kellan's palm. "Merry Christmas, sweetheart ~ M.M. Wilde
Christmas Greeting quotes by M.M. Wilde
Christmas means Jesus came down and got involved in suffering. He hears your cries. ~ Timothy Keller
Christmas Greeting quotes by Timothy Keller
The main reason Santa is so jolly is because he knows where all the bad girls live. ~ George Carlin
Christmas Greeting quotes by George Carlin
MR. BONES KNEW THAT WILLY WASN'T LONG FOR THIS WORLD. The cough had been inside him for over six months, and by now there wasn't a chance in hell that he would ever get rid of it. Slowly and inexorably, without once taking a turn for the better, the thing had assumed a life of its own, advancing from a faint, phlegm-filled rattle in the lungs on February third to the wheezy sputum-jigs and gobby convulsions of high summer. All that was bad enough, but in the past two weeks a new tonality had crept into the bronchial music - something tight and flinty and percussive - and the attacks came now so often as to be almost constant. Every time one of them started, Mr. Bones half expected Willy's body to explode from the rockets of pressure bursting agaisnt his rib cage. He figured that blood would be the next step and when that fatal moment finally occurred on Saturday afternoon, it was as if all the angels in heaven had opened their mouths and started to sing. Mr. Bones saw it happen with his own eyes, standing by the edge of the road between Washington and Baltimore as Willy hawked up a few miserable clots of red matter into his handkerchief, and right then and there he knew that every ounce of hope was gone. The smell of death had settled upon Willy G. Christmas, and as surely as the sun was a lamp in the clouds that went off and on everyday, the end was drawing near.

What was a poor dog to do? Mr. Bones had been with Willy since his earliest days as a pup, and by now ~ Paul Auster
Christmas Greeting quotes by Paul Auster
Sometimes you're just the sweetest thing. Like Christmas, summer vacation, and a brand-new puppy rolled into one. ~ Haruki Murakami
Christmas Greeting quotes by Haruki Murakami
Blue opened and closed her chilly fists. The top edges of her fingerless gloves were fraying; she'd done a bad job knitting them last year, but they had a certain trashy chic to them. If she hadn't been so vain, Blue could've worn the boring but functional gloves she'd been given for Christmas. But she was vain, so instead she had her fraying fingerless gloves, infinitely cooler though also colder , and no one to see them but Neeve and the dead. ~ Maggie Stiefvater
Christmas Greeting quotes by Maggie Stiefvater
Gratitude is merely the secret hope of further favors. ~ Francois De La Rochefoucauld
Christmas Greeting quotes by Francois De La Rochefoucauld
I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus. Underneath the mistletoe last night. She didn't see me creep down the stairs to have a peep; She thought that I was tucked up in my bedroom fast asleep. Then, I saw mommy tickle Santa Claus Underneath his beard so snowy white; Oh, what a laugh it would have been. If daddy had only seen. mommy kissing Santa Claus, last night. ~ Jimmy Boyd
Christmas Greeting quotes by Jimmy Boyd
Postal officials say that before Christmas they receive tons of letters written to Santa Claus, but after Christmas how few letters of thanks are sent to him! From childhood onward, human beings seem to be characterized by thanklessness. ~ Robert E.Lee
Christmas Greeting quotes by Robert E.Lee
I remembered all the Christmases we'd celebrated, always with a huge tree, situated next to the staircase where I now sat. As a child, I'd sat upon that same step, huddled up against the balus- ters, studying the tree, its shape and decorations; enthralled by the magical light and shadows upon the walls around me. Dancing. Over Christmas the only light in the hallway had come from the silver candelabra burning on the hallway table. But on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day night small candles were attached to the branches of the tree, their soft light reflected in the vast chande- lier suspended high above and thrown back across the walls like stars across the universe. I remembered the smell, that mingling of pine and wax and burning logs: the smell of home, the smell of happiness. I'd sat there in my nightgown, listening to the chime of crystal; the laughter, music and voices emanating from another room, an adult world I could only imagine. And always hoping for a glimpse of Mama, as she whooshed across the marble floor, beautiful, resplendent . . . invincible. ~ Judith Kinghorn
Christmas Greeting quotes by Judith Kinghorn
He placed his hand on her back, used the other to clasp hers. A jolt of electricity pulsed inside him. In that moment, he was more than a blood-thirsty vampire. For the first time since he was human himself, he felt like a man, captivated by her touch. ~ Patricia A. Wolf
Christmas Greeting quotes by Patricia A. Wolf
I will write as often as I can, but truth be told, I don't have many moments to myself. The queen is in a very bad way and needs everyone who can be at her side. But whenever I undo my buttons to ready myself for bed, I think of you. I imagine your fingers unfastening my gown, opening me like a Christmas parcel for your pleasure. I tingle even now as I think of it, and so I will close before I quite combust and burn the paper. ~ Jennifer Ashley
Christmas Greeting quotes by Jennifer Ashley
Christmas is a necessity. There has to be at least one day of the year to remind us that we're here for something else besides ourselves. ~ Eric Sevareid
Christmas Greeting quotes by Eric Sevareid
You are not allowed to get lost unless I want to lose you. You aren't allowed to be found, unless it's me doing the finding. And the only way you're allowed to die is if I choose to kill you with my own hands. Your life doesn't belong to you anymore, and if I have to murder you tonight and paint the snow with your blood to make you understand that, I will. You are mine, Kingsley. End of discussion. ~ Tiffany Reisz
Christmas Greeting quotes by Tiffany Reisz
I had two cups of coffee, put Eric's jeans in the washer, read a romance for awhile, and studied my brand-new Word of the Day calendar, a Christmas gift from Arlene. My first word of the New Year was 'exsanguinate.' This was probably not a good omen. ~ Charlaine Harris
Christmas Greeting quotes by Charlaine Harris
I think I fell in love with you that amazing night on the kitchen floor. Or maybe it was the evening you stepped up and set my arm." Testing things, he reached for her hand, and, to his joy, she glared, but she let him take it. "Or maybe the night I knew I loved you was when I kissed you under the mistletoe on Christmas Eve. It's hard to say because I look at you now and it seems to me there's never been a time when I didn't love you. ~ Maggie Osborne
Christmas Greeting quotes by Maggie Osborne
Jesus experienced homelessness at Christmas so that we could experience a love we could never lose. ~ Timothy Keller
Christmas Greeting quotes by Timothy Keller
About me as a drinker: I wasn't much of one and had a short, bad history of doing it. The few times I'd tried drinking I either became too much like myself or not enough, but either way it was always calamity on top of calamity and I found myself saying way too much about too little and doing the wrong things in the wrong places. Once, at my boss's Christmas party, I passed out for a minute - passed out but still, like a zombie, remained fully ambulatory and mostly functional - and when I came to, I found myself in my boss's kitchen, the refrigerator door open and me next to it at the counter, spreading mayonnaise onto two slices of wheat bread and licking the knife after each pass before I stuck it back in the jar. I heard someone cough or gag, looked up, and saw the kitchen's population staring at me, all of their mouths open and slack, obviously wondering what I thought I was doing, exactly, and all I could think to say was, "Sandwich." Which is what I said. And then, to prove my point, whatever the point was, I ate it. The sandwich, that is. ~ Brock Clarke
Christmas Greeting quotes by Brock Clarke
we had more people begging for snow than those that had bet on a white Christmas ~ David Clark
Christmas Greeting quotes by David Clark
We didn't have a whole lot of money when I was growing up either. I would always ask for magic books or magic tricks for my birthday or for Christmas and the rest of the year I either had to mow lawns or find part time jobs to help supplement the cost of doing magic. ~ Lance Burton
Christmas Greeting quotes by Lance Burton
Men's courses will foreshadow certain ends, to which, if persevered in, they must lead," said Scrooge. "But if the courses be departed from, the ends will change. ~ Charles Dickens
Christmas Greeting quotes by Charles Dickens
Smoothly he asked Winslow if he had been to any Christmas parties.
"Certainly not, my dear Orbell."
"Have you really neglected everyone?"
"I gave up going to my colleagues' wives' parties before you were born, my dear young man," Winslow said.
He added: "I have no small talk."
He made the remark with complacency, as though he had an abnormal amount of great talk. ~ C.P. Snow
Christmas Greeting quotes by C.P. Snow
Michelle will tell you that when we get together for Christmas or Thanksgiving, it's like a little mini-United Nations ... I've got relatives who look like Bernie Mac, and I've got relatives who look like Margaret Thatcher ... We've got it all. ~ Barack Obama
Christmas Greeting quotes by Barack Obama
No matter how many Christmas presents you give your child, there's always that terrible moment when he's opened the very last one. That's when he expects you to say, 'Oh yes, I almost forgot,' and take him out and show him the pony. ~ Mignon McLaughlin
Christmas Greeting quotes by Mignon McLaughlin
Madden sizes me up.
"Did you even ever get Christmas presents ...?"
"Yes. And Hanukkkah presents. And Kwanzaa. Three Kings Day. Also, Saint Lucia Day and Ramadan. It's important not to play favorites. You know ... you never know who could actually be running this thing ... probably important not to put all your eggs in one basket -"
"Stop. Stop talking. ~ Andrea Portes
Christmas Greeting quotes by Andrea Portes
Again came that ringing crow, and Peter dropped in front of them. "Greeting, boys," he cried, and mechanically they saluted, and then again was silence.
He frowned.
"I am back," he said hotly, "why do you not cheer? ~ J.M. Barrie
Christmas Greeting quotes by J.M. Barrie
My wife and I were shopping for the whole family. In the music department my wife said, "Let's get your nephew a set of drums. That's what your brother did to us last year." ~ Milton Berle
Christmas Greeting quotes by Milton Berle
May the sun bring opportunities ~ Lyn Gala
Christmas Greeting quotes by Lyn Gala
The really great visual experience today is to fly over a huge city and look down into the night. It's like a tremendous jubilant Christmas tree. You just feel life is worth living when you come down you may have some doubts. ~ Gyorgy Kepes
Christmas Greeting quotes by Gyorgy Kepes
Some bands today have the experience of really working together and honing their craft. And other bands are very much like, 'I just got a guitar for Christmas, let's start a band.' And you can hear the difference. ~ Robbie Robertson
Christmas Greeting quotes by Robbie Robertson
Nothing would keep him from loving her. She was everything he wanted. She was his. ~ Lisa Carlisle
Christmas Greeting quotes by Lisa Carlisle
Enjoy the beauty, love and peace of a sacred Christmas. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
Christmas Greeting quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
The older I get
the quicker Christmas comes,
but if I had to give up the heavenly
taste of Guinness dark, I couldn't
live another goddamn day. Darling,
you can chisel that into my headstone. ~ Yusef Komunyakaa
Christmas Greeting quotes by Yusef Komunyakaa
There's one thing that's really great about waking up early, and it's not jogging or greeting the day - it's just that that's when they make doughnuts. ~ Kathy Griffin
Christmas Greeting quotes by Kathy Griffin
Uh, hi," she said, lifting a hand in greeting.
"Hi yourself," Liam said, feeling remarkably calm, under the circumstances. "Did you just walk out of that closet?" He looked her over, taking in her unusual attire, jewels, sword, and all. She looked exotic, stunningly beautiful, and in some intangible way, more herself than he'd ever seen her.
"Nice outfit. Special occasion?" He was fairly certain she hadn't just come from a costume ball. Unless it was one that involved some kind of giant pumpkin and a fairy godmother. ~ Deborah Blake
Christmas Greeting quotes by Deborah Blake
My voice of reason is always Lola. "You're a jackass."
"You only say that when I'm being your voice of reason."
"Out of my head, witch. And don't piss me off, I tell her. "I'll buy you underwear one size too small for Christmas and make you hate life. ~ Christina Lauren
Christmas Greeting quotes by Christina Lauren
If you can't find the spirit of the holidays in your heart, you'll never find it under a tree. ~ Michael Holbrook
Christmas Greeting quotes by Michael Holbrook
A storyteller who provided us with such a profusion of details would rapidly grow maddening. Unfortunately, life itself often subscribes to this mode of storytelling, wearing us out with repetition, misleading emphases and inconsequential plot lines. It insists on showing us Bardak Electronics, the saftey handle in the car, a stray dog, a Christmas card and a fly that lands first on the rim and then in the centre of the ashtray.
Which explains how the curious phenomenon whereby valuable elements may be easier to experience in art and in anticipation than in reality. The anticipatory and artistic imaginations omit and compress; they cut away the periods of boredom and direct our attention to critical moments, and thus, without either lying or embellishing, they lend to life a vividness and a coherence that it may lack in the distracting wooliness of the present. ~ Alain De Botton
