We are the things we don't remember,
the blank spaces, the forgotten words. ~ Cecilia Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Cecilia Ruiz
If someone is not treating you with love and respect, it is a gift if they walk away from you. If that person doesn't walk away, you will surely endure many years of suffering with him or her. Walking away may hurt for a while, but your heart will eventually heal. Then you can choose what you really want. You will find that you don't need to trust others as much as you need to trust yourself to make the right choices. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
In any kind of relationship we can make the assumption that others know what we think, and we don't have to say what we want. They are going to do what we want because they know us so well. If they don't do what we want, what we assume they should do, we feel hurt and think, "How could you do that? You should know." Again, we make the assumption that the other person knows what we want. A whole drama is created because we make this assumption and then put more assumptions on
top of it. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz

Alicia, welcome back to the Cemetery of Forgotten Books. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
All holy books are, above all, great stories whose plots deal with the basic aspects of human nature, setting them within a particular moral context and a particular framework of supernatural dogma.
-Andreas Corelli ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Better still, I pay you. And I pay you very well, which is the only real form of flattery in this whorish world. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
True friendship is worth more than can be measured,
a quality forever to be treasured.
True friends will staunchly stand beside each other,
as loyally brother shieldeth brother,
remaining firm in spite of war and strife,
in poverty or sickness, throughout life.
True friendship doth endure while comrades age
from boy to youth, from warrior to sage. ~ Cecilia Dart-Thornton
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Cecilia Dart-Thornton
Most of what's known about religious practices in pre-Hispanic Mexico has come to us through a Catholic parish priest named Hernando Ruiz de Alarcón, one of the few who ever became fluent in the Nahuatl language. He spent the 1620s writing his "Treatise on the Superstitions and Heathen Customs that Today Live Among the Indians Native to This New Spain". He'd originally meant it to be something of a "field guide to the heathens" to help priests recognize and exterminate indigenous religious rites and their practitioners. In the process of his documentation, though, it's clear from his writings that Father Ruiz de Alarcón grew sympathetic. He was particularly fascinated with how Nahuatl people celebrated the sacred in ordinary objects, and encouraged living and spirit realities to meet up in the here and now. He noted that the concept of "death" as an ending did not exactly exist for them. When Aztec people left their bodies, they were presumed to be on an exciting trip through the ether. It wasn't something to cry about, except that the living still wanted to visit with them. People's sadness was not for the departed, but for themselves, and could be addressed through ritual visiting called Xantolo, an ordinary communion between the dead and the living. Mexican tradition still holds that Xantolo is always present in certain places and activities, including marigold fields, the cultivation of corn, the preparation of tamales and pan de muerto. Interestingly, farmers' markets ar ~ Barbara Kingsolver
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Barbara Kingsolver
A young man is the perfect soldier. He has great potential for aggression and a limited critical capacity - or none at all - with which to analyze it and judge how to channel it. Throughout history societies have found ways of using this store of aggression, turning their adolescents into soldiers, cannon fodder with which to conquer their neighbors or defend themselves against their aggressors. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
I left the apartment without even bothering to close the door behind me. Once outside, I faced a world of buildings and faces that seemed strange and distant. I started to walk aimlessly, oblivious to the cold and the rain-filled wind that was starting to lash the town with the breath of a curse. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
A Gentleman's agreement cannot be broken without breaking the person who has entered into it. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Taking action is being alive. It's taking the risk to go out and express your dream. This is different than imposing your dream on someone else, because everyone has the right to express his or her dream. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
The only way to store information is by agreement. The belief system is like a Book of Law that rules our mind. Our biggest fear is taking the risk to be alive. Humans punish themselves endlessly for not being what they believe they should be. We have the need to be accepted and to be loved by others, but we cannot accept and love ourselves. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Angel Ruiz
Now he understood. He had dreamed about her countless times, on that same staircase, with that same blue dress and that same movement of her ash-grey eyes, without knowing who she was or why she smiled at him. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Halfway back up the hillside, Cecilia reached behind her, and it seemed the most natural thing in the world for Brian to lean forward to take her hand. ~ Davis Bunn
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Davis Bunn
The more you hide the truth, the quicker it finds you - Max, The Prince of Midst ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
To understand the value of the middle
the golden middle path
you'll have to know your own golden rules.

You don't need to change the world; you need to change yourself. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
Don't worry, nothing's going to happen here. Skirmishes, pantomimes, and hypocrisy en masse for a while, that's for certain, but nothing serious. If we're unlucky, some idiot might go too far, but whoever holds the reins won't let anything get out of hand. It wouldn't be worth it. They'll be a fair amount of hullabaloo, but most of it will come to nothing. Records will be broken in the Olympic sport of coat turning and we'll see heroes merging from under the sofa. .. Its going to be like a long constipation. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
True freedom has to do with the human spirit - it is the freedom to be who we really are. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
-Do you think it's dirty money?
-All money is dirty. If it were clean nobody would want it. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Lazaro Cesar Ruiz Sr.
In this new world, with smartphones and tablets and cloud computing, things are moving around fast. ~ Hector Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Hector Ruiz
I always had this childhood image in the back of my mind of this fantastic place where all the things I liked came from; Orson Welles, jazz, all that stuff. Los Angeles is one of those places where somebodies become nobodies and nobodies become somebody. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
They were so much alike and they become best friends. It was a wonderful relationship. They respected each other, and they never put each other down. With every step they took together, they were happy. There was no envy or jealousy; there was no control, there was no possessiveness. Their relationship kept growing and growing. They loved to be together because when they were together, they had alot of fun. When they were not together, they missed each other. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Angel Ruiz
I knew that Clara kept Carax's book in a glass cabinet by the arch of the balcony. I crept up to it. My plan, or my lack of it, was to lay my hands on the book, take it out of there, give it to that lunatic, and lose sight of him forever after. Nobody would notice the book's absence, except me. Carax's book was waiting for me, as it always did, its spine just visible at the end of a shelf. I took it in my hands and pressed it against my chest, as if embracing an old friend whom I was about to betray. Judas, I thought. I decided to leave the place without making Clara aware of my presence. I would take the book and disappear from Clara's life forever. Quietly, I stepped out of the library. The door of her bedroom was just visible at the end of the corridor ... I walked slowly up to the door. I put my fingers on the doorknob. My fingers trembled. I had arrived too late. I swallowed hard and opened the door. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
We're all whores, sooner or later. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Children are born innocent. Before they are domesticated they live in the moment, love without fear, and don't even think about the opinions of others. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Angel Ruiz
I am a curious creature and put my finger in as many cakes as I can: history, film, technology, etc. I'm also a freak for urban history, particularly Barcelona, Paris and New York. I know more weird stuff about 19th-century Manhattan than is probably healthy. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
I would go to newsstands and buy paperbacks they were selling for tourists, usually bestsellers and mass market paperbacks. In the beginning, it was like going to the Rosetta Stone
I didn?t understand anything, I'd get a headache
but I began to figure it out, and I'd read a lot of Stephen King paperbacks. I've always said he was my English professor. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
The more self-love we have, the less we will experience self-abuse. Self-abuse comes from self-rejection, and self-rejection comes from having an image of what it means to be perfect and never measuring up to that ideal. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
One has to make one's own mistakes, not other people's. Do what you have to do and come back soon. Or whenever you can. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
The world is very beautiful and very wonderful. Life can be very easy when love is your way of life. You can be loving all the time. This is your choice. You may not have a reason to love, but you can love because to love makes you so happy. Love in action only produces happiness. Love will give you inner peace. It will change your perception of everything. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Angel Ruiz

Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Don Miguel Ruiz
Every prayer is an agreement with yourself. The mind is asking the real you, which is life, to guide your decisions for every single choice that you make. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Angel Ruiz

Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Petra Hermans
Bea is the only good thing I've ever done in my life,' he said. 'Take care of her for me.'
My father went with him to the door and watched him walk away down Calle Santa Ana, with that sadness that softens men who are aware that they are growing old together. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
All your life you tried to be good enough for somebody else, and you left yourself last. You sacrificed your personal freedom to live according to somebody else's point of view. You tried to be good enough for your mother, your father, your teachers, your beloved, your children, your religion, and society. After trying for so many years, you try to be good enough for yourself, and you find out that you're not good enough for yourself. Why not put yourself first, maybe for the first time in your life? You can relearn how to love yourself by accepting yourself, unconditionally. And you can start by projecting unconditional love to the authentic you. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
She did not need Miguel to explain that love, unconditional and unremitting, is the essence of life. She knew well that love based on conditions is a twisted copy of the truth, and yet it is there that humanity plays - there, in the shade of a metaphorical tree that wavers like a sullen mirage and scatters the seeds of a million lies. ~ Miguel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Ruiz
For he commands his angels with regard to you To guard you wherever you go. Psalms 91:11 ~ Cecilia London
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Cecilia London
It doesn't matter whether you believe in Christ, Moses, Allah, Brahma, Buddha, or any other being or master. Each one of us has our own beliefs, our own point of view. There are billions of different points of view, but it's the same force of life behind each one of us. ~ Miguel Angel Ruiz
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Miguel Angel Ruiz
Money is like any other virus: once it has rotted the soul of the person who houses it, it sets off in search of new blood. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Every work of art is aggressive, Isabella. And every artist's life is a small war or a large one, beginning with oneself and one's limitations. To achieve anything you must first have ambition and then talent, knowledge, and finally the opportunity. ~ Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Cecilia Ruiz quotes by Carlos Ruiz Zafon
Humans cover themselves, and protect themselves, and when someone says, "You are pushing my buttons," it is not exactly true. What is true is that you are touching a wound in his mind, and he reacts because it hurts. ~ Miguel Ruiz
