Doing something once can be addicting. Doing it twice is admitting it. ~ Paul Morabito
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Paul Morabito
Hath she her faults? I would you had them too. They are the fruity must of soundest wine; Or say, they are regenerating fire Such as hath turned the dense black element Into a crystal pathway for the sun. ~ George Eliot
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by George Eliot
Six million Jews died in the Holocaust. Yet many people simply cannot accept this. They keep bringing up red herring after red herring to avoid finally admitting "YES, it happened exactly as the history books say, end of story." Which, of course, is the only correct response to the question anti-Semites raise about whether or not this historically and forensically-proven Nazi genocide even happened. ~ James Morcan
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by James Morcan
But a large part of learning to be an adult is admitting to yourself that nothing is ever perfect. We all have to sacrifice small indulgences from time to time in order to achieve our larger goals, and I would just have to behave like a grown-up and accept that the results were more important than my petty personal gratification. ~ Jeff Lindsay
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Jeff Lindsay
Hello, my name is Noam and I have the answer to all your problems. It's all the fault of the evil Americans, the bad conservative ones that fill the airwaves with their lies and are in power and want to oppress the world. There. Now give me money so that I can soothsay again and assuage your guilt. ~ John Ringo
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by John Ringo
Lymond said quietly, 'You had good reason to hate me. I always understood that. I don't know why you should think differently now, but take care. Don't build up another false image. I may be the picturesque sufferer now, but when I have the whip-hold, I shall behave quite as crudely, or worse. I have no pretty faults. Only, sometimes, a purpose.' He paused, and said, 'Est conformis precedenti. I owe the Somervilles rather a lot already.' Philippa's unwinking brown gaze flickered shiftily at the Latin and then steadied.

'I should have told you before. You don't mind?'

'If you had told me before, you might not have decided to have me for a friend. I don't mind,' said Francis Crawford and told, for once, the bare truth. ~ Dorothy Dunnett
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Dorothy Dunnett
The more He loved those for whom He was the ransom, the more His anguish would increase, as it is the faults of friends rather than enemies which most disturb hearts! ~ Fulton J. Sheen
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Fulton J. Sheen
Let's admit that feminism came from liberalism and it was very positive. But then it went dark. Feminism replaced biology with social construct. Like you didn't achieve what you could get because it was your fault. They denied traits that are applied across all cultures. And that's where feminism went wrong is it denied biology and makes them look foolish. ~ Greg Gutfeld
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Greg Gutfeld
I understand it was Derian who spoiled everything. He purposefully tainted your view of me and forced you to go along with him. I know none of what happened was your idea or your desire, Eena."

She didn't get up, but spoke from her curled position. Her voice was weak, still heavy with despair. "Derian didn't force me to do anything."

"But if he hadn't influenced you, we would be enjoying a pleasant dinner again, telling stories and laughing. I'm sure that would be the case. You would be happy……and so would I."

Eena chuckled without amusement.

"You have to admit we shared some very enjoyable evenings, didn't we? There's really no reason we can't put this whole mess behind us and start from where we left off." He sounded genuinely serious.

"You forget," she reminded him, "I heard your conversation with the Ghengats. This isn't about Derian, it's about you."

"Alright," he admitted with an acquiescent sigh, "so I'm not everything you'd hoped for. But really, what man can ever live up to any woman's terribly high expectations?"

This got her attention. She almost stood up to face him, but decided it wasn't worth the effort. Leaning forward, she retorted, "Expecting a man to respect you, to be honest with you, and, oh yes, to not be a shameless murderer - I don't think those are overly high expectations!"

He shrugged, casually excusing his faults. "Nobody's perfect."

"What do you want? ~ Richelle E. Goodrich
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Richelle E. Goodrich
Picking out Vince Russo's faults could be a full-time job for somebody. ~ Jim Cornette
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Jim Cornette
The writing in mathematics text is not only laconic to a fault; it is cold, monotonous, dry, dull, and even ungrammatical ... The books are not only printed by machines; they are written by machines. ~ Morris Kline
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Morris Kline
We call it "Nature"; only reluctantly admitting ourselves to be "Nature" too. ~ Denise Levertov
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Denise Levertov
Self-love is often equated with self-esteem but when it makes you blind to your own faults and gives you an inflated ego, it is time to introspect. ~ Balroop Singh
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Balroop Singh
I think working with Johnny Depp was very intimidating. It was my fault though. I mean he's a total cool nice, nice guy, but I was just so, I don't know, overpowered by his presence. Like he's a very mystic person. He's older so I never really warmed up around him. I was so stiff. ~ Franka Potente
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Franka Potente
From my college courses and my reading I knew the various names that came at the end of a line of questions or were placed as periods to bafflement: the First Cause, the First Mover, the Life Force, the Universal Mind, the First Principle, the Unmoved Mover, even Providence. I too had used those names in arguing with others, and with myself, trying to explain the world to myself. And now I saw that those names explained nothing. They were of no more use than Evolution or Natural Selection or Nature or The Big Bang of these later days. All such names do is catch us within the length and breadth of our own thoughts and our own bewilderment. Though I knew the temptation of simple reason, to know nothing that can't be proved, still I supposed that those were not the right names.
I imagined that the right name might be Father, and I imagined all that that name would imply: the love, the compassion, the taking offense, the disappointment, the anger, the bearing of wounds, the weeping of tears, the forgiveness, the suffering unto death. If love could force my own thoughts over the edge of the world and out of time, then could I not see how even divine omnipotence might by the force of its own love be swayed down into the world? Could I not see how it might, because it could know its creatures only by compassion, put on mortal flesh, become a man, and walk among us, assume our nature and our fate, suffer our faults and our death?
Yes. I could imagine a Father who is yet lik ~ Wendell Berry
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Wendell Berry
The Peacemaker, Ken Sande suggests that a biblically based request for forgiveness will involve practicing the Seven A's:
(1) Addressing everyone involved;
(2) Avoiding all ifs, buts, and maybes;
(3) Admitting your own sin specifically;
(4) Acknowledging sorrow for the way your sin has offended God and hurt the other person;
(5) Accepting the fact there may be consequences because of your sin and being willing to accept what those consequences may be as part of the Romans 8:28 process;
(6) Altering your sinful behavior to godly behavior and thinking; and
(7) Asking specifically for forgiveness from everyone who has been hurt by your sin; ~ Ken Sande
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Ken Sande
Letting go of the conventional wisdoms that torment us. Letting go of the artificial limits that hold us back - and of the fear of admitting what we don't know. Letting go of the habits of mind that tell us to kick into the corner of the goal even though we stand a better chance by going up the middle. ~ Steven D. Levitt
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Steven D. Levitt
Averse alike to flatter, or offend;
Not free from faults, nor yet too vain to mend. ~ Alexander Pope
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Alexander Pope
Ninoy Aquino was a friend; I knew his faults, which were outweighed by his virtues. ~ F. Sionil Jose
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by F. Sionil Jose
There are no chains like hate ... dwelling on your brother's faults multiplies your own. You are far from the end of your journey. ~ Gautama Buddha
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Gautama Buddha
With all respect to the Buddha and to the early Christian celibates, I sometimes wonder if all this teaching about nonattachment and the spiritual importance of monastic solitude might be denying us something quite vital. Maybe all that renunciation of intimacy denies us the opportunity to ever experience that very earthbound, domesticated, dirt-under-the-fingernails gift of the difficult, long-term, daily forgiveness {...} Maybe creating a big enough space within your consciousness to hold and accept someone's contradictions - someone's idiocies, even - is a kind of divine act. Perhaps transcendence can be found not only on solitary mountaintops or in monastic settings, but also at your own kitchen table, in the daily acceptance of your partner's most tiresome, irritating faults. ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Elizabeth Gilbert
It may be that one of our great faults in prayer is that we talk too much and listen too little. When prayer is at its highest we wait in silence for God's voice to us; we linger in His presence for His peace and His power to flow over us and around us; we lean back in His everlasting arms and feel the serenity of perfect security in Him. ~ William Barclay
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by William Barclay
The acquisition of riches has been to many not an end to their miseries, but a change in them: The fault is not in the riches, but the disposition. ~ Seneca The Younger
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Seneca The Younger
Not that it was Twiggy's fault, but the ubiquity of her image created a sense in young women that to be stylish meant to be skinny, flat-chested with an ingenue face and straight hair. ~ Susie Orbach
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Susie Orbach
Never feel lonely with you," said Bean when they stopped kissing. "I keep expecting to feel lonely or shut out or irritated, but the more we are together, the more right it feels, the more we seem to belong together." Isadora felt the same, but she feared admitting it. She feared the commitment it implied, she feared the heartbreak, the entanglement that leads to bitter loss. Bean waited for her to pledge herself to him in turn, but she remained silent through fear and the recentness of her heartbreak. ~ Erica Jong
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Erica Jong
But there are times when patience proves at fault. ~ Robert Browning
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Robert Browning
The faults were clear enough: the greatest of them was an initial lack of appreciation of the possibilities of the enemy; a certain indiscipline of mind; a tendency towards exaggeration ~ Rick Atkinson
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Rick Atkinson
Those who, from the desire of our perfection, have the keenest eye far our faults generally compensate for it by taking a higher view of our merits than we deserve. ~ John Frederick Boyes
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by John Frederick Boyes
As long as you think there is a pretty good chance that you will achieve some of your dreams, as long as you think you have a shot at success, you experience your inner emptiness as "drive" and your anxiety as "hope." And so you can remain almost completely oblivious to how deep your thirst actually is. Most of us tell ourselves that the reason we remain unfulfilled is because we simply haven't been able to achieve our goals. And so we can live almost our entire lives without admitting to ourselves the depth of our spiritual thirst. And that is why the few people in life who actually do reach or exceed their dreams are shocked to discover that these longed-for circumstances do not satisfy. Indeed they can enhance the inner emptiness by their presence. ~ Timothy Keller
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Timothy Keller
There is an ugly kind of forgiveness in this world,
a kind of hedgehog forgiveness, shot out like quills. Men take one who has offended, and set him down before the blowpipe of their indignation, and scorch him, and burn his fault into him; and when they have kneaded him sufficiently with their fiery fists, then
they forgive him. ~ Henry Ward Beecher
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Henry Ward Beecher
We endeavor to make a virtue of the faults we are unwilling to correct. ~ Francois De La Rochefoucauld
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Francois De La Rochefoucauld
Illusions are dangerous because they have no faults. Victims of abuse have illusions that the abuser is a good person, because they told them so. ~ Tracy Malone
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Tracy Malone
The most popular persons are those who take the world as it is who find the least fault. ~ Charles Dudley Warner
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Charles Dudley Warner
My dad is my dad. I love him, and I realize that he's as famous as he is. Of course, I don't look at him like everybody else does. Because I know his little faults, I know his weaknesses. Nobody's perfect. But he's my dad. Just like your dad is to you. ~ Laila Ali
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Laila Ali
Whether it's personal foibles or a bureaucrat's ego, the stubborn defence of stupidity is unforgivable. ~ Stewart Stafford
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Stewart Stafford
LEADING LESSONS
Criticism can be useful.

I've taken a beating from the DWTS judges on many occasions. Most of the time, because I'm always aware of the cameras in my face, I just suck it up and take it. Here's the thing: I realize that maybe they're seeing something I'm not. Sometimes you're too close to a situation, too connected to it, to be 100 percent honest with yourself. Or your ego gets in the way and won't let you improve, because that would mean changing course and admitting you were wrong. I tell my partners to listen carefully when Len, Carrie Ann, or Bruno has a constructive criticism for us. Yes, sometimes it boils down to taste and opinion (and I don't always agree), but often it's a valid point. They want us to succeed. The way I see it, you have lots of choices on how to handle it: the first is to lose your temper, get defensive, and spend the rest of the night beating yourself up about it. The second--a natural reaction for most people--is to mentally shut down when someone points out your flaws. Who wants to hear that? Let me just drown it out and ignore it. The third option is your best: keep your mind and your ears open. You can learn about your weaknesses and how you can improve them. A leader is never scared of criticism, but instead knows there is always room to grow and improve. So bring it on. ~ Derek Hough
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Derek Hough
A friend should always underestimate your virtues and an enemy overestimate your faults ~ Mario Puzo
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Mario Puzo
There are indeed, in the present corruption of mankind, many incitements to forsake truth: the need of palliating our own faults and the convenience of imposing on the ignorance or credulity of others so frequently occur; so many immediate evils are ~ Samuel Johnson
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Samuel Johnson
We are often let down by the most trusted people and loved by the most unexpected ones. Some make us cry for things that we haven't done, while others ignore our faults and just see our smile. Some leave us when we need them the most, while some stay with us even when ask them to leave. The world is a mixture of people. We just need to know which hand to shake and which hand to hold! After all that's life, learning to hold on and learning to let go. ~ Chanda Kaushik
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Chanda Kaushik
How about a new game show called 'Battle Begala?' Contestants would pick any obscure bad thing that happened anywhere in the world, and Paul would have 10 seconds to explain why it is President Bush's fault, ~ Ann Coulter
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Ann Coulter
In the stress of modern life, how little room is left for that most comfortable vanity that whispers in our ears that failures are not faults! Now we are taught from infancy that we must rise or fall upon our own merits; that vigilance wins success, and incapacity means ruin ~ Agnes Repplier
Admitting Faultstting Faults quotes by Agnes Repplier
There is nothing to do with men [and women] but to love them; to contemplate their virtues with admiration, their faults with pity and forbearance, and their injuries with forgiveness. ~ Orville Dewey
