And it was back in the mid-1980s, and as I point out in a piece, that was when we are spending about eight percent of our gross domestic product on health care. And even then, we had the impression that so much of the excessive, aggressive medical treatment that took place at the end of life was not only unnecessary but it was cruel. ~ Richard Dooling
The End Of Life quotes by Richard Dooling
To me, the persistence of my grandfather's rituals meant that he was unchanged, running on discipline and continuance and stoicism. I didn't notice, and didn't realize, that the rituals themselves were changing, that there was a difference between the rituals of comfort and the preventive rituals that come at the end of life. ~ Tea Obreht
The End Of Life quotes by Tea Obreht
My work as a doula also extends all the way to the end of life. I sit at the bedsides of people who are passing on in hospices or nursing homes, for the people and families who want that kind of thing. ~ Erykah Badu
The End Of Life quotes by Erykah Badu
Simple people with less education, sophistication, social ties, and professional obligations seem in general to have somewhat less difficulty in facing this final crisis than people of affluence who lose a great deal more in terms of material luxuries, comfort, and number of interpersonal relationships. It appears that people who have gone through a life of suffering, hard work, and labor, who have raised their children and been gratified in their work, have shown greater ease in accepting death with peace and dignity compared to those who have been ambitiously controlling their environment, accumulating material goods, and a great number of social relationships but few meaningful interpersonal relationships which would have been available at the end of life. ~ Elisabeth Kubler Ross
The End Of Life quotes by Elisabeth Kubler Ross
Hateful is the dark-blue sky,
Vaulted o'er the dark-blue sea.
Death is the end of life; ah, why
Should life all labour be? ~ Alfred Tennyson
The End Of Life quotes by Alfred Tennyson
The mental pictures I have of my parents and grandparents and my childhood are beginning to break up into small fragments and get blown away from me into empty space, and the same wind is sucking me toward it ever so gently, so gently as not even to raise a hair on my head (though the truth is that there are very few of them to be raised). I'm starting to take the idea of death as the end of life somewhat harder than before. I used to wonder why people seemed to think that life is tragic or sad. Isn't it also comic and funny? And beyond all that, isn't it amazing and marvelous? Yes, but only if you have it. And I am starting not to have it. The pictures are disintegrating, as if their molecules were saying, "I've had enough," ready to go somewhere else and form a new configuration. They betray us, those molecules, we who have loved them. They treat us like dirt. ~ Ron Padget
The End Of Life quotes by Ron Padget
You know, life is not so original after all. It has uncanny ways of reminding us that, even without a god, there is a flash of retrospective brilliance in the way fate plays its cards. It doesn't deal us fifty-two cards; it deals, say, four or five, and they happen to be the same ones our parents and grandparents and great-grandparents played. The cards look pretty frayed and bent. The choice of sequences is limited: at some point the cards will repeat themselves, seldom in the same order, but always in a pattern that seems uncannily familiar. Sometimes the last card is not even played by the one whose life ended. Fate doesn't always respect what we believe is the end of life. It will deal your last card to those who come after. Which is why I think all lives are condemned to remain unfinished. ~ Andre Aciman
The End Of Life quotes by Andre Aciman
Death, with its ancestral weight of terrors, is merely the abandonment of an unserviceable shell at the time the spiritis reintegrated into the unified energy of the cosmos. The end of life, like birth, is a stagein a voyage, and deserves the compassion we accord to its beginnings. There is absolutely no virtue in prolonging the heartbeat and tremors of a body beyond its natural span ... ~ Isabel Allende
The End Of Life quotes by Isabel Allende
There is no shame is asking for help. We accept the fact that those at the end of life and those at the beginning of life require assistance, yet we somehow believe that adults should be able to be independent in spite of hardship. ~ Lisa Arends
The End Of Life quotes by Lisa Arends
The conditions of writing change absolutely between the first novel and the second: the first is an adventure, the second is a duty. The first is like a sprint which leaves you exhausted and triumphant beside the track. With the second the writer has been transformed into a long-distance runner - the finishing tape is out of sight, at the end of life. He must guard his energies and plan ahead. A long endurance is more exhausting than a sprint, and less heroic. ~ Graham Greene
The End Of Life quotes by Graham Greene
Nothing could be worse, Thoreau wrote, than to come to the end of life and "discover that I had not lived. ~ Dale Salwak
The End Of Life quotes by Dale Salwak
I used to love winter,
and I would listen to it,
drop by drop.
Rain, rain like an appeal to a lover,
Pour down my body!
Winter was not lament pointing
to the end of life. It was the beginning. It was hope.
So what shall I do, as life falls like hair?
What will I do this winter? ~ Mahmoud Darwish
The End Of Life quotes by Mahmoud Darwish
when what she needed was something concrete, some small final memory to slip its hand in hers and accompany her - sightless now, stumbling - through this sudden desert of existence which stretched before her from the present moment until the end of life. ~ Donna Tartt
The End Of Life quotes by Donna Tartt
Live in moment, every day is the new beginning of life and every night is the end of life. ~ Santosh Kalwar
The End Of Life quotes by Santosh Kalwar
In the beginning of life, when we are infants, we need others to survive, right? And at the end of life, when you get like me, you need others to survive, right?' His voice dropped to a whisper. 'But here's the secret: in between, we need others as well. ~ Mitch Albom
The End Of Life quotes by Mitch Albom
Life is too short to hang around people who are causing you to compromise. Pulling you down. Your time is too valuable to waste it with people who don't have a dream. People that aren't going anywhere.

You don't need to make some big announcement, but little by little, you should spend less time with them.

'Joel, what if I hurt their feelings, what if they get upset?'

What if you miss your destiny?

What if they are keeping you from going to the next level?

When you come to the end of life, you won't stand before people, you will stand before God.

He has entrusted you with a gift, you have an assignment, there is something for you to accomplish. you have a responsibility to become who God has created you to be. You have to take bold steps to protect what you are feeding. ~ Joel Osteen
The End Of Life quotes by Joel Osteen
Peace and joy are not things you attain at the end of life. They are the basis of your life. ~ Sadhguru
The End Of Life quotes by Sadhguru
When the world becomes peaceful for the birds, the birds will sing a harmonious chorale ~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
The End Of Life quotes by Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
The End of Life Strategy ~ Kate Granger
The End Of Life quotes by Kate Granger
What does one save for, anyhow? For a few tired hours at the end of life when one sits and counts dollars? Or do we save so that those last years will not be mentally barren or esthetically shabby? I try to save a few things to furnish my mind decently, on the theory that no auctioneer can get in there to sell off all the furniture. ~ Margaret Culkin Banning
The End Of Life quotes by Margaret Culkin Banning
May be she'll learn something about what death really is, which is where the pain stops and the good memories begin. Not the end of life but the end of pain. ~ Stephen King
The End Of Life quotes by Stephen King
From the beginning, the gospel message has had a profound eschatological component. The compelling challenge for every person is the inevitability of the ultimate catastrophe of death. It haunts us particularly as we age and realize as parents die and out peers depart that we are, in some sense, "next." Man was not created to die. God placed eternity in his heart and an immortal spirit that cannot comprehend the end of life. Fear of our mortality lurks in the background of our lives, dampening our joys, and in sober moments, bringing us to an awareness of our overwhelming fragility. Much of modern life is an attempt to live as though we will be here forever. It is a fantasy of denial, supported by the pleasures of the moment, which collectively serve as a narcotic, dulling the awareness of death's certainty and near proximity.
The message of the gospel is the message of life for us, a life out of death, provided in the person of our substitute, Jesus Christ. As the only one qualified to face the foe, He took all that death could give – energized by Satan's rage – and came out the victor, providing immortality to all who would believe in Him. His victory was not simply the means of our return to Eden's joys, with their attendant vulnerability to the possibility of yet another fall. It closed the door forever to another intrusion of sin and death by giving perfect, sinless immortality to those who are His own. He gave them the absolute promise of eternal perfection, the u ~ John E. Hartman
The End Of Life quotes by John E. Hartman
You shouldn't have counseling at the end of life. You ought to have counseling 20 years before you're going to die. You ought to plan these things out. And I don't have any problem with things like living wills. But they ought to be done within the family. ~ Chuck Grassley
The End Of Life quotes by Chuck Grassley
RAIN IN MEASURED AMOUNTS

Another item of information provided in the Qur'an about rain is
that it is sent down to Earth in "due measure." This is mentioned in
Surat az-Zukhruf as follows:
It is He Who sends down water in measured amounts from the sky by
which We bring a dead land back to life. That is how you too will be
raised [from the dead]. (Qur'an, 43:11)
This measured quantity in rain has again been discovered by modern
research. It is estimated that in one second, approximately 16 million
tons of water evaporates from the Earth. This figure amounts to
513 trillion tons of water in one year. This number is equal to the
amount of rain that falls on the Earth in a year. Therefore, water continuously
circulates in a balanced cycle, according to a "measure." Life
on Earth depends on this water cycle. Even if all the available technology
in the world were to be employed for this purpose, this cycle could
not be reproduced artificially.
Even a minor deviation in this equilibrium would soon give rise to
a major ecological imbalance that would bring about the end of life on
Earth. Yet, it never happens, and rain continues to fall every year in
exactly the same measure, just as revealed in the Qur'an.
The proportion of rain does not merely apply to its quantity, but
also to the speed of the falling raindrops. The speed of raindrops,
regardless of their size, does n ~ Harun Yahya
The End Of Life quotes by Harun Yahya
Faith is not a meritorious cause of election, but it is constantly attested as the sole condition of salvation. Faith merely receives the merit of atoning grace, instead of asserting its own merit. God places the life-death option before each person, requiring each to choose. The ekletos are those who by grace freely believe. God does not compel or necessitate their choosing. Even after the initial choice of faith is made, they may grieve and quench the Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:19).

Faith is the condition under which God primordially wills the reception of salvation by all. "He chooses us, not because we believe, but that we may believe; lest we should say that we first chose Him" (Augustine). Faith receives the electing love of God not as if it had already become efficacious without faith, but aware that God's prescience foreknows faith like all else.

In accord with ancient ecumenical consent, predestination was carefully defined in centrist Protestant orthodoxy as:

'The eternal, divine decree, by which God, from His immense mercy, determined to give His Son as Mediator, and through universal preaching , to offer Him for reception to all men who from eternity He foresaw would fall into sin; also through the Word and Sacraments to confer faith upon all who would not resist; to justify all believers, and besides to renew those using the means of grace; to preserve faith in them until the end of life, and in a word, to save those believing to t ~ Thomas C. Oden
The End Of Life quotes by Thomas C. Oden
My father was an atheist, absent. He was a salesman; I was four years old when he told me that the end of life was death. ~ Alejandro Jodorowsky
The End Of Life quotes by Alejandro Jodorowsky
Right at this moment, I only want silence. I believe that the end of life is silence in the love people have for you. I've actually been running through what people have said about the end. Religion says that the end is one thing, because it serves their purpose. But great thinkers alike haven't always agreed. Shakespeare knew how to say it better than anyone else. Hamlet says 'The rest is silence.' And when you think of the noises of everyday life, you realize how particularly desirable that is. Silence. ~ Vincent Price
The End Of Life quotes by Vincent Price
In the beginning of life, we need others to survive. At the end of life, we need others to survive. In between, we need others as well. ~ Morrie Schwartz
The End Of Life quotes by Morrie Schwartz
But death does not stand at the end of life, it is all through it. It is the fear of losing, the knowledge of losing that makes love tender. ~ Benedict Freedman
The End Of Life quotes by Benedict Freedman
The only difference between the end of love and the end of life being that at least in the latter, we are granted that the comforting thought that we will not feel anything after death. No such comfort for the lover, who knows that the end of the relationship will not necessarily be the end of love, and almost certainly no the end of life. ~ Alain De Botton
The End Of Life quotes by Alain De Botton
Life is just like a book. Only after you've read it do you know how it ends. It is when we are at the end of life that we know how our life ran. Mine, until now, has been black. As black as my skin. Black as the garbage dump where I live. ~ Carolina Maria De Jesus
The End Of Life quotes by Carolina Maria De Jesus
Looking again at the lights and the shadows, in both one's own life and in the history of the past century, gives a person perspective to face the end of life on earth in the light of eternity. ~ Francis George
The End Of Life quotes by Francis George
Through a grandmother's voice and hands the end of life is known at the beginning. ~ Margaret Mead
The End Of Life quotes by Margaret Mead
It is quite wrong to think of old age as a downward slope. On the contrary, one climbs higher and higher with the ad-vancing years, and that, too with sur-prising strides. Brain-work comes as easily to the old as physical exertion to the child. One is moving, it is true, towards the end of life, but that end is now a goal, and not a reef in which the vessel may be dashed. ~ George Sand
The End Of Life quotes by George Sand
Take me from this earth
an endless night-
this, the end of life.
From the dark I feel your lips
and taste your bloody kiss. ~ Anne Rice
The End Of Life quotes by Anne Rice
I think we should all live on the precipe of life, as fully and as dangerously as possible. Everyone should make the assumption that they're going through life only once. Tomorrow we die. Why not take chances, extend yourself? How awful it is when a person comes to the end of life full of regret. ~ Edward Albee
The End Of Life quotes by Edward Albee
Throughout our culture we have been led to the idea that we accept death as the end of life on earth ... Time bound as we are and goal oriented to achievements in our lifetime, we find it strange to anticipate heaven. ~ Billy Graham
The End Of Life quotes by Billy Graham
In my view, after fifty years of service in the United National system, I perceive the utmost urgency and absolute necessity for proper Earth government. There is no shadow of a doubt that the present political and economic systems are no longer appropriate and will lead to the end of life evolution on this planet. We must therefore absolutely and urgently look for new ways. ~ Robert Muller
The End Of Life quotes by Robert Muller
At the end of life death is a departure; but at life's beginning a departure is death. ~ Victor Hugo
The End Of Life quotes by Victor Hugo
I think the doctors are right. I'm convinced that's why many of us dumb down our surroundings. It's a way to insulate ourselves against the cold, dark world that often isn't very kind. So we distract ourselves with silly movies and other emotional
candy. Still, at the end of the day-and even more important, at the end of life-if we haven't prepared ourselves for what is coming, we've just put ourselves in a much scarier situation. ~ Jim Fletcher
The End Of Life quotes by Jim Fletcher
But there are still many who continue to marvel at the wisdom of God in so planning the universe that big rivers run by great towns, and that death comes at the end of life instead of in the middle of it. Divest pleas ... of their semi-philosophic jargon, reduce his illustrations to homely similes, and he is marvelling at the wisdom of God who so planned things that the two extremities of a piece of wood should come at the ends instead of in the middle. ~ Chapman Cohen
The End Of Life quotes by Chapman Cohen
enable well-being. And well-being is about the reasons one wishes to be alive. Those reasons matter not just at the end of life, or when debility comes, but all along the way. Whenever serious sickness or injury strikes and your body or mind breaks down, the vital questions are the same: What is your understanding of the situation and its potential outcomes? What are your fears and what are your hopes? What are the trade-offs you are willing to make and not willing to make? And what is the course of action that best serves this understanding? The field of palliative care emerged over recent ~ Atul Gawande
The End Of Life quotes by Atul Gawande
At the end of life, at the end of YOUR life, what essence emerges? What have you filled the world with? In remembering you, what words will others choose? ~ Amy Krouse Rosenthal
The End Of Life quotes by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
Death is not the end of life but the beginning of eternal life. ~ Debasish Mridha
The End Of Life quotes by Debasish Mridha
They had ... finished their lives before their death - which is not always the end of life and often comes long before the end. ~ Jules Amedee Barbey D'Aurevilly
The End Of Life quotes by Jules Amedee Barbey D'Aurevilly
Each of us will taste the bitter ashes of life, from sin and neglect to sorrow and disappointment. But the atonement of Christ can lift us up in beauty from our ashes on the wings of a sure promise of immortality and eternal life. He will thus lift us up, not only at the end of life, but in each day of our lives. ~ Bruce C. Hafen
The End Of Life quotes by Bruce C. Hafen
What matters is at the end of life, when you're about to pass into oblivion, that you've at least scratched 'Kilroy was here,' on the last wall of the universe. ~ William Faulkner
The End Of Life quotes by William Faulkner
If all emotions are common coin, then what is unique to the good man?

To welcome with affection what is sent by fate. Not to stain or disturb the spirit within him with a mess of false beliefs. Instead, to preserve it faithfully, by calmly obeying God – saying nothing untrue, doing nothing unjust. And if the others don't acknowledge it – this life lived in simplicity, humility, cheerfulness – he doesn't resent them for it, and isn't deterred from following the road where it leads: to the end of life. An end to be approached in purity, in serenity, in acceptance, in peaceful unity with what must be. ~ Marcus Aurelius
The End Of Life quotes by Marcus Aurelius
We breathe, sleep, drink, eat, work and then die! The end of life is death. What do you long for? Love? A few kisses and you will be powerless. Money? What for? To gratify your desires. Glory? What coems after it all? Death! Death alone is certain. ~ Guy De Maupassant
The End Of Life quotes by Guy De Maupassant
The antithetical or perhaps mirror image to sadness is the experience, similarly unique to one's late years, of a swift, mysterious wave of happiness, also causeless, but of much shorter duration. I cannot remember a time, before my sixties, when the consciousness of happiness would sweep over me and, like a shower of cold water when one is desperately overheated, offer me a passing sensation very close to glee.
Both sadness and fleeting happiness relate, I think, to mortality, to the consciousness of being old and of nearing the end of life ... these sensations ... surge up from the unconscious, to be a gift of long life or fortunate old age. Both sadness and happiness, but sadness more, are related to the fact that nothing of all this will endure for long. [p. 179] ~ Carolyn G. Heilbrun
The End Of Life quotes by Carolyn G. Heilbrun
The wish fulfillment of growing younger is not necessarily all it's cracked up to be. You have new problems that arise which you are not anticipating and you deal with the same problems you would deal with if you were ageing normally: what is the end of life about? What have I accomplished? ~ Eric Roth
The End Of Life quotes by Eric Roth
The end of life is likely to be an important focus for innovation. Most people die in hospitals, tied up with tubes and with their bodies pumped full of drugs. Yet most would rather die at home and with more control over the timing and manner of their death. ~ Geoff Mulgan
The End Of Life quotes by Geoff Mulgan
If truth is the end of life happiness is a mode of it, to be cherished in its brief and tremulous moment. ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
The End Of Life quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
And it would be a death of the worst kind; becoming the very thing that I hunted myself, or worse. It was far more terrifying than the end of life completely. I'd rather be gone from this world for all of eternity than become a slave to Hell. ~ L.J. Kentowski
The End Of Life quotes by L.J. Kentowski
You are more than likely thinking by now that all of this sounds somewhat fanciful, perhaps over the top, all too complicated and even perhaps at times chaotic. It may seem so at first glance, but life here is a complex and intriguing happening, with never a dull moment to be had. And why should it not be so? "Death" as you have named it, is not the end of life. It is to us a birth back here once again to our side, to our true home. So it is a rebirth in a sense. ~ Natasha Rendell
The End Of Life quotes by Natasha Rendell
On his back, Robert must have had time to see something beautiful, and not just the ugliness of a city street at the end of life. Even with the tremendous pain in his badly gutted belly he would have looked up beyond the fire escapes and the windows with their glittery trees and television glows, to the sky about the rooftops. A sky shimmery with the possibilities of the death; lights exaggerated, the heavens peeled back- a swirling haze of nebulae and comets - in some distant place, intimations of the new beginning into which he would soon journey ~ Oscar Hijuelos
The End Of Life quotes by Oscar Hijuelos
Death is not the end of life; it is only the gateway to eternity. ~ Billy Graham
The End Of Life quotes by Billy Graham
Failure is part of life, but surrender is the end of life. ~ Debasish Mridha
The End Of Life quotes by Debasish Mridha
At the end of LIFE, its all about what we've DONE! ~ Stephen Magnus
The End Of Life quotes by Stephen Magnus
Now discontent nibbled at him - not painfully, but constantly. Where does discontent start? You are warm enough, but you shiver. You are fed, yet hunger gnaws you. You have been loved, but your yearning wanders in new fields. And to prod all these there's time, the bastard Time. The end of life is now not so terribly far away - you can see it the way you see the finish line when you come into the stretch - and your mind says, "Have I worked enough? Have I eaten enough? Have I loved enough?" All of these, of course, are the foundation of man's greatest curse, and perhaps his greatest glory. "What has my life meant so far, and what can it mean in the time left to me?" And now we're coming to the wicked, poisoned dart: "What have I contributed in the Great Ledger? What am I worth?" And this isn't vanity or ambition. Men seem to be born with a debt they can never pay no matter how hard they try. It piles up ahead of them. Man owes something to man. If he ignores the debt it poisons him, and if he tries to make payments the debt only increases, and the quality of his gift is the measure of the man. ~ John Steinbeck
The End Of Life quotes by John Steinbeck
Life is truly a ride. We're all strapped in and no one can stop it. When the doctor slaps your behind, he's ripping your ticket and away you go. As you make each passage from youth to adulthood to maturity, sometimes you put your arms up and scream, sometimes you just hang on to that bar in front of you. But the ride is the thing. I think the most you can hope for at the end of life is that your hair's messed, you're out of breath, and you didn't throw up. ~ Jerry Seinfeld
The End Of Life quotes by Jerry Seinfeld
A person in her twenties has been a child for most of her life, but as time goes by that portion that is childhood becomes smaller and smaller, more and more distant, more and more faded, though they say at the end of life the beginning returns with renewed vividness, as though you had sailed all the way around the world and were going back into the darkness from which you came. ~ Rebecca Solnit
The End Of Life quotes by Rebecca Solnit
Rubin Battino: At the end of life all that remains of importance is two things: nature and people. ~ Trevor Silvester
The End Of Life quotes by Trevor Silvester
Every one of us will go through things that destroy our inner compass and pull meaning out from under us. Everyone who does not die young will go through some sort of spiritual crisis, where we have lost our sense of what is right and wrong, possible and impossible, real and not real. Never underestimate how frightening, angering, confusing, devastating it is to be in that place. Making meaning of what is meaningless is hard work. Soul-searching is painful. This process of making or finding meaning at the end of life is what the chaplain facilitates. ~ Kerry Egan
The End Of Life quotes by Kerry Egan
If I had you, I would have never worried about the end of life; I don't know why you do then. ~ M.F. Moonzajer
The End Of Life quotes by M.F. Moonzajer
In a span of months she had present for birth and for death, the wondrous first breath and the horrible last. But wasn't it an honor to be there at the end of life as well as the beginning? To mark the extraordinariness of a lifetime, to bear witness to its completion? ~ Rae Meadows
The End Of Life quotes by Rae Meadows
The end of life is to be like unto God; and the soul following God, will be like unto Him; He being the beginning, middle, and end of all things. ~ Socrates
The End Of Life quotes by Socrates
How deceitful hope may be, yet she carries us on pleasantly to the end of life. ~ Francois De La Rochefoucauld
The End Of Life quotes by Francois De La Rochefoucauld
Seeing death as the end of life is like seeing the horizon as the end of the ocean. ~ David Searls
The End Of Life quotes by David Searls
What I really fear is time. That's the devil: whipping us on when we'd rather loll, so the present sprints by, impossible to grasp, and all is suddenly past, a past that won't hold still, that slides into these inauthentic tales. My past- it doesn't feel real in the slightest. The person who inhabited it is not me. It's as if the present me is constantly dissolving. There's that line from Heraclitus: 'No man steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.' That's quite right. We enjoy this illusion of continuity, and we call it memory. Which explains, perhaps, why our worst fear isn't the end of life but the end of memories. ~ Tom Rachman
The End Of Life quotes by Tom Rachman
At the end of life, each of us must answer the question, Whose story captured my soul? ~ James MacDonald
The End Of Life quotes by James MacDonald
Hanging over every love story is the thought, as horrible as it is unknowable, of how it will end. It is when, in full health and vigour, we try to imagine our own death, the only difference between the end of love and the end of life being that at least in the latter, we are granted the comforting thought that we will not feel anything after death. No such comfort for the lover, who knows that the end of the relationship will not necessarily be the end of love, and almost certainly not the end of life. ~ Alain De Botton
The End Of Life quotes by Alain De Botton
Death is not the end of life, it is a gateway to enter in a new journey . ~ Bhimsen Sapkota
The End Of Life quotes by Bhimsen Sapkota
I still believe that standing up for the truth of God is the greatest thing in the world. This is the end (purpose) of life. The end of life is not to be happy. The end of life is not to achieve pleasure and avoid pain. The end of life is to do the will of God, come what may. ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
The End Of Life quotes by Martin Luther King, Jr.
And at the end of life, I don't know what's going to turn out to be the true thing, or which church will be the right one. But I don't think it really matters."
"Then what does?" I ask.
"Finding things that give you hope, and make you want to do good things for others. ~ Mackenzi Lee
The End Of Life quotes by Mackenzi Lee
My record as a pro-life governor is not in dispute. I am completely pro-life, and I believe that we should have a culture of life. It's informed by my faith from beginning to end. And this not just as it related to unborn babies - I did it at the end of life issues as well. This is something that goes way beyond politics. ~ Jeb Bush
The End Of Life quotes by Jeb Bush
The only fight should be the fight of faith. Full force of enduring to the end of life. ~ Lailah Gifty Akita
The End Of Life quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
Happiness is not the end of life: character is. ~ Henry Ward Beecher
The End Of Life quotes by Henry Ward Beecher
Yes, hell exists. It is not a fairy tale. One indeed burns there. This hell is not at the end of life. It is here. At the beginning. Hell is what the infant must experience before he gets to us. ~ Frederick Leboyer
The End Of Life quotes by Frederick Leboyer
I'm writing this memoir from the perspective of somebody who's prosperous and has means. Having said that, one of the things that I think I discovered about those additional years is that I don't think they really are added to the end of life. ~ Anna Quindlen
The End Of Life quotes by Anna Quindlen
Atheism robs death of meaning. And if death has no meaning, how can life ultimately have meaning? For death is the end of life. Here ~ Peter Kreeft
The End Of Life quotes by Peter Kreeft
The things you'll never do don't get decided at the end of life, but somewhere in the long gray middle, where you can't see the dim light at either end. ~ Richard Ford
The End Of Life quotes by Richard Ford
The end of life has its own nature, also worth our attention. I don't say this without reckoning in the sorrow, the worry, the many diminishments. But surely it is then that a person's character shines or glooms. ~ Mary Oliver
The End Of Life quotes by Mary Oliver
Sometimes, they wait. Sometimes, you see the dead come in to the harbor, and their old dogs are all along the docks, wagging their tails, for they have waited for their masters and mistresses for many years. You see mothers who have missed their sons. Fathers who had never spoken of love to their children, ready to embrace them as they voyage from the end of life. It shows the lies of this world, you see. We are wrong about so many things here. Mankind has done terrible things, yet we are forgiven. ~ Douglas Clegg
The End Of Life quotes by Douglas Clegg
..And because he was still able to move his hands - Morrie always spoke with both hands waving - he showed great passion when explaining how you face the end of life. ~ Mitch Albom
The End Of Life quotes by Mitch Albom
It just got ugly in the 1970s for New Journalism, hastened by the decline of general interest magazine. So what happened? Television, mostly, which siphoned away readers and ad dollars, turned celebrity culture into a growth industry, and assured the end of Life, the Saturday Evening Post, and Collier's – magazine that had published Mailer, Didion, Hersey, and many others. Esquire, New York, and Rolling Stones were no longer must-reads for an engaged readership that couldn't wait for the next issue to arrive in their mailboxes, eager to find out what Wolfe, Talese, Thompson, and the rest had in store for them. As the seventies drew to a close, so, too, did the last golden era of American journalism.
But there was also a sense of psychic exhaustion – that the great stories had all been told and there was nothing left to write about. ~ Marc Weingarten
The End Of Life quotes by Marc Weingarten
Time rushes by and yet time is frozen. Funny how we get so exact about time at the end of life and at its beginning. She died at 6:08 or 3:46, we say, or the baby was born at 4:02. But in between we slosh through huge swatches of time
weeks, months, years, decades even. ~ Helen Prejean
The End Of Life quotes by Helen Prejean
Senseless people name evil good, call good evil. As you are doing. You accuse Us of passing false judgement: you do Us injustice. We shall prove this to you. You ask who We are: We are God's handle, Master Death, a truly effective reaper. Our scythe works its way. It cuts down white, black, red, brown, green, blue, grey, yellow, and all kinds of lustrous flowers in its path, irrespective of their splendour, their strength, their virtue. And the violet's beautiful colour, rich perfume, and palatable sap, avail it nought. See: that is justice. Our justification was acknowledged by the Romans and the poets, for they knew Us better than you do.
You ask what We are: We are nothing, and yet something. Nothing, because We have neither life, nor being, nor form, and We are no spirit, not visible, not tangible; something, because We are the end of life, the end of existence, the beginning of nullity, a cross between the two. We are a happening that fells all people. Huge giants must fall before Us; all living beings must be transformed by Us.
You ask where We are: We are not ascertainable. But Our form was found in a temple in Rome*, painted on a wall, as a hoodwinked man sitting on an ox; this man wielded a hatchet in his right hand and a shovel in his left hand, with which he was beating the ox. A great crowd of all kinds of people was hitting him, fighting him, and making casts at him, each one with the tools of his trade: even the nun with her psalter was there. They str ~ Johannes Von Saaz
The End Of Life quotes by Johannes Von Saaz
What we get from this adventure is just sheer joy. And joy is, after all, the end of life. We do not live to eat and make money. ~ George Leigh Mallory
The End Of Life quotes by George Leigh Mallory
I do not want to arrive at the end of life and then be asked what I made of it and have to answer: 'I acted.' I want to be able to say: 'I loved and I was mystified. It was a joy sometimes, and I knew grief. And I would like to do it all again.' ~ Liv Ullmann
The End Of Life quotes by Liv Ullmann
Sometimes, people end up thankful for what they mourned. You cannot achieve this state by seeking tragedy, but you can keep yourself open more to sorrow's richness than to unmediated despair. Tragedies with happy endings may be sentimental tripe, or they may be the true meaning of love. ~ Andrew Solomon
The End Of Life quotes by Andrew Solomon
Nobility and self-sacrifice sound wonderful in theory, but now he's seen how it feels. A dead hero is still dead at the end of the day, and you're still alone. ~ Ann Aguirre
The End Of Life quotes by Ann Aguirre
I am used to looking good. In a way, if I thought I looked like the back end of a bus, I probably wouldn't have done 'Strictly Come Dancing' and gone out there in public. ~ Felicity Kendal
The End Of Life quotes by Felicity Kendal
Big Angel could not reconcile himself to this dirty deal they had all been dealt. Death. What a ridiculous practical joke. Every old person gets the punch line that the kids are too blind to see. All the striving, lusting, dreaming, suffering, working, hoping, yearning, mourning, suddenly revealed itself to be an accelerating countdown to nightfall.
....This is the prize: to realize, at the end, that every minute was worth fighting for with every ounce of blood and fire. ~ Luis Alberto Urrea
The End Of Life quotes by Luis Alberto Urrea
Some years ago, I read an article about two people in the arts (alas, I can't remember who they were) who'd been married for many, many years. Asked for the secret of their long partnership, they said: "We fell straight into conversation when we met, and we haven't come to the end of that conversation yet."
I can't think of a better model for marriage than that. Or of a narrative more romantic ... ~ Terri Windling

Timmy, he's the beginning of it. He doesn't have to be the end all the time now. ~ Gregg Popovich
The End Of Life quotes by Gregg Popovich
Always remember: Business is War.
At the end of the day, the one with access to the best intel wins. This
applies as much to business and politics as it does to the military. Ask
every single billionaire and military or political strategist out there.
They will all confirm that as fact. ~ Ziad K. Abdelnour
The End Of Life quotes by Ziad K. Abdelnour
He thought of death, in that gap between the beginning of a step and its completion, and at the end of the step he stood on a new earth. ~ Ursula K. Le Guin
The End Of Life quotes by Ursula K. Le Guin
You gotta be the right size, height, speed - all those are a big factor in what position you play. If you love the game, play the position you love. Some positions get paid more, but at the end of the day you gotta play the game you love. ~ LeSean McCoy
The End Of Life quotes by LeSean McCoy
That's the thing about theories. You can theorize what you want, but at the end of the day when your theories become reality, when the situation you have theorized about is suddenly presented to you, your theories go flying out the windowز ~ Jane Green
