Our inherent cognitive biases make us ripe for manipulation and exploitation by those who have an agenda to push, especially if they can discredit all other sources of information. ~ Lee McIntyre
Post Truthism quotes by Lee McIntyre
In low-income countries, getting to a health post is hard. It's very expensive. ~ Bill Gates
Post Truthism quotes by Bill Gates
In the 1980s, research on post traumatic stress disorder in Vietnam veterans was regarded as important, noble, and useful. When the same researchers looked at the same problem in children who had been sexually abused, a tremendous controversy ensued a controversy that persists to this day. There were those who disputed the extent and severity of the sexual abuse that had been uncovered. ~ Patrick J. Carnes
Post Truthism quotes by Patrick J. Carnes
This post-college world felt different from everything that had come before it ... ~ Meg Wolitzer
Post Truthism quotes by Meg Wolitzer
For later generations of women - post Sexual Revolution - enjoying sex was to become simply a duty, the perfect orgasm yet another thing to add to the list of required accomplishments; and when enjoyment becomes a duty, we're back in the land of dreariness of spirit. ~ Alice Munro
Post Truthism quotes by Alice Munro
You are what you post. Proper netiquette makes you a good user. ~ David Chiles
Post Truthism quotes by David Chiles
Impending war was evidenced by the faraway expression in the older villagers' eyes, the shadows on their faces, not of fear but of sorrow. Because they knew; they had lived through the last war and they remembered the generation of young men who had marched off so willingly and never come back. Those too, like Daddy, who had made it home, but left in France a part of themselves that they could never recover. Who surrendered to moments, periodically, in which their eyes filmed and their lips whitened, and their minds gave over to sights and sounds they wouldn't share but couldn't shake. ~ Kate Morton
Post Truthism quotes by Kate Morton
To grasp the true meaning of socialism, imagine a world where everything is designed by the post office, even the sleaze. ~ P. J. O'Rourke
Post Truthism quotes by P. J. O'Rourke
the Jews should stay away from this trial -- for their own sake. For -- mark this well -- the charge "a war for the Jews" is still being made, and in the post-war years it will be made again and again. The too-large percentage of Jewish men and women here will be cited as proof of this charge. Sometimes it seems that the Jews will never learn about these things. They seem intent on bringing new difficulties down on their own heads. I do not like to write about this matter... but I am disturbed about it. They are pushing and crowding and competing with each other, and with everyone else. They will try the case I guess...

--Letters from Nuremberg, page 135 ~ Christopher J. Dodd
Post Truthism quotes by Christopher J. Dodd
Every post is honourable in which a man can serve his country. ~ George Washington
Post Truthism quotes by George Washington
The company's most effective marketing tactic (besides making a great product) would never have been conceived or attempted by a pure marketing team. Instead, the engineers coded a set of tools that made it possible for every member to seamlessly cross-post his or her Airbnb listing on craigslist (because craigslist does not technically "allow" this, it was a fairly ingenious work-around). As a result, Airbnb - a tiny site - suddenly had free distribution on one of the most popular websites in the world. ~ Ryan Holiday
Post Truthism quotes by Ryan Holiday
Manners are made up of trivialities of deportment which can be easily learned if one does not happen to know them; manner is personality - the outward manifestation of one's innate character and attitude toward life ... Etiquette must, if it is to be of more than trifling use, include ethics as well as manners. Certainly what one is, is of far greater importance than what one appears to be. ~ Emily Post
Post Truthism quotes by Emily Post
Don't accept the post or stay unless you have an understanding with the President that you're free to tell him what you think "with the bark off" and you have the courage to do it. ~ Donald Rumsfeld
Post Truthism quotes by Donald Rumsfeld
Flickr was designed partly to market itself. There are a lot features, in place early on, that let people take their photo, upload it to Flickr and post them elsewhere, on their own Web site or their blog, which meant a lot of incoming links. ~ Stewart Butterfield
Post Truthism quotes by Stewart Butterfield
Standing amid the tan, excited post-Christmas crowd at the Southwest Florida Regional Airport, Rabbit Angstrom has a funny sudden feeling that what he has come to meet, what's floating in unseen about to land, is not his son Nelson and daughter-in-law Pru and their two children but something more ominous and intimately his: his own death, shaped vaguely like an airplane. ~ John Updike
Post Truthism quotes by John Updike
I used to be quite a big video game player at university and post-university in that weird moment in life before you have a proper job and you've got a lot of idle time. ~ Stephen Merchant
Post Truthism quotes by Stephen Merchant
In our post-everything culture, obey has become a four-letter word. Obeying is for wimps. Obeying is for people who didn't do well enough on their SATs to write their own rules. Only the weak and the feeble and the young - -well, not even the young anymore - -need to obey. Funny, because the root of the word obey is from the French verb meaning "to listen, or to give ear to." It was never intended as a militant word, but one of hearing, of understanding. Of getting it. For a world obsessed with staying in constant communication, we aren't really very good listeners. ~ Heather Choate Davis
Post Truthism quotes by Heather Choate Davis
Five people and a bank holiday weekend. What could possibly go wrong?

Marc, he has the perfect life so why does he want to go and ruin it?

Paul, the guy who has blackouts if he drinks too much.

Chloe, the bulimic loner who just wants to be at peace.

Lindsey, the forty-four-year-old who still lives at home with her controlling mum.

And Rich, all he thinks about is money and notches on the bed post.

Five people working for the same company, but not really knowing each other. They all start the long weekend, but how many will finish it and arrive back at work on the right side of the law and still alive? ~ Ross Lennon
Post Truthism quotes by Ross Lennon
I always think about Katharine Graham - she was the publisher of The Washington Post. In her autobiography she talks about the way her parents met. Her father was, I think, in New York just walking by on his way home and looked into a store and saw the lady that became his wife. It was just pure luck. And she said that it once again reminds her of the role that luck and chance play in our life. I really believe that, too. ~ Owen Wilson
Post Truthism quotes by Owen Wilson
It tasted good going down, but the megaload of carbs and fat induced negative post-ingestive feedback ~ Mark Schatzker
Post Truthism quotes by Mark Schatzker
...unlike the Lost Generation, which was occupied with the loss of faith, the Beat Generation is becoming more and more occupied with the need for it. ~ John Clellon Holmes
Post Truthism quotes by John Clellon Holmes
Your religious beliefs are your business. They are not and should not be the basis for law. If you use them as justification to discriminate against others, don't be upset when others decide you're an asshole.
[Blog post of July 26, 2011] ~ Jim C. Hines
Post Truthism quotes by Jim C. Hines
George Floyd's death may have compelled you to post a black image on your social-media accounts but what it should really have done is made you question yourself and find within you those dark places where intolerance might be hiding for who among us can stand tall and proclaim that they have never been prejudiced towards a certain ethnicity, gender, colour or faith? ~ Aysha Taryam
Post Truthism quotes by Aysha Taryam
He [Edward Snowden] has been careful with his info, doling it out to responsible news organizations - The Post, the New York Times, the Guardian, etc. - and not tossing it up in the air, WikiLeaks style, and echoing the silly mantra "Information wants to be free." (No. Information, like most of us, wants a home in the Hamptons.)" – Richard Cohen, Washington Post (10/22/2013) ~ Richard Cohen
Post Truthism quotes by Richard Cohen
My post-child period resulted in one instant change: I write shorter books for kids. ~ Berkeley Breathed
Post Truthism quotes by Berkeley Breathed
... there are certain questions that must never be asked. Of anyone. Even oneself. ~ Jenny Lynne
Post Truthism quotes by Jenny Lynne
problematic within post-Reformation dogmatics. Is faith something I `do' to earn God's favour, and, if not, what role does it play? Once we release Paul's justification-language from the burden of having to describe `how someone becomes a Christian', however, this is simply no longer a problem. There is no danger of imagining that Christian faith is after all a surrogate `work', let alone a substitute form of moral righteousness. Faith is the badge of covenant membership, not something someone `performs' as a kind of initiation test. ~ N. T. Wright
Post Truthism quotes by N. T. Wright
We were perceived as a post-grunge band. ~ Daniel Johns
Post Truthism quotes by Daniel Johns
The criminalization of Black life was something specific to the United States in the post-Reconstruction period and there's something like it happening today with mass incarceration, directed largely against black males. ~ Noam Chomsky
Post Truthism quotes by Noam Chomsky
These girls aren't wounded so much as post-wounded, and I see their sisters everywhere. They're over it. *I am not a melodramatic person.* God help the woman who is. What I'll call "post-wounded" isn't a shift in deep feeling (we understand these women still hurt) but a shift away from wounded affect---these women are aware that "woundedness" is overdone and overrated. They are wary of melodrama so they stay numb or clever instead. Post-wounded women make jokes about being wounded or get impatient with women who hurt too much. The post-wounded woman conducts herself as if preempting certain accusations: don't cry too loud, don't play victim, don't act the old role all over again. Don't ask for pain meds you don't need, don't give those doctors another reason to doubt the other women on their examination tables. Post-wounded women fuck men who don't love them and then they feel mildly sad about it, or just blase about it, more than anything they refuse to care about it, refuse to hurt about it---or else they are endlessly self-aware about the posture they have adopted if they allow themselves this hurting.

The post-wounded posture is claustrophobic. It's full of jadedness, aching gone implicit, sarcasm quick-on-the-heels of anything that might look like self-pity. I see it in female writers and their female narrators, troves of stories about vaguely dissatisfied women who no longer fully own their feelings. Pain is everywhere and nowhere. Post-wounded women know tha ~ Leslie Jamison
Post Truthism quotes by Leslie Jamison
Well, my epic freedom moment was short-lived, because I realized my cell phone was dead. I walked down the road to a gas station and asked if I could use the phone. I called Tracy and told her where I was and asked her to pick me up. When Tracy arrived I hopped in the car and the very first thing I said to her was "I gotta get home. I have to print out some TV guides and I need to write a letter to some of the guys in there." She started laughing and when she could compose herself enough to talk said, "My sisters and I all said we guarantee Noah is going to come out of jail with new friends. He's going to be friends with everybody."
I got home and immediately wrote a letter to Michael Bolton. I put my email address at the bottom. I printed out TV guides. I printed out crossword puzzles. I even printed a couple of pages of jokes and riddles and whatever would be fun to read and do and folded them up and put them in an envelope. All that was left to do was to write the address, put a stamp on the envelope, and put it in the mailbox. I put the envelope in the car in between the seat and the center console to take to the post office.
I must have been distracted or had to do something else because the envelope sat there for months. Every so often I would look at it and go, Oh crap, I haven't sent that yet. And then at some point I spilled something on it so I knew I would never send it now. I threw it out.
To this day I'm worried that one day I'm going to be at the ~ Noah Galloway
Post Truthism quotes by Noah Galloway
Money is to be sought for first of all; virtue after wealth.
[Lat., Quaerenda pecunia primum est; virtus post nummos.] ~ Horace
Post Truthism quotes by Horace
Now I often think of the first time I received artillery fire, and the subsequent obliteration of the enemy observation post. I'll never know how many men manned the OP, but in memory I fix the number at two, and though at the time I was angry that the pompus captain took the handset from me and stole m y kills, I have lately been thankful he insisted on calling the fire mission, ans sometimes when I am feeling hopeful or even religious, I think that buy taking my two kills the pompous captain handed me life, some extra moments of living for myself or that I can offer others, though I have no idea to use or disuse these extra moments, or if I've wasted them already. ~ Anthony Swofford
Post Truthism quotes by Anthony Swofford
The Roman Catholic Index of Prohibited Books, a list that came to include almost every significant work of post-medieval Western philosophy. ~ David Hume
Post Truthism quotes by David Hume
traumatic diagnoses such as post-traumatic stress disorder and dissociative identity disorder describe a shared array of human responses to degradation and dehumanization (Good & Hinton, 2016; Ross, 2011) ~ Michael Salter
Post Truthism quotes by Michael Salter
Good manners reflect something from inside-an innate sense of consideration for others and respect for self. ~ Emily Post
Post Truthism quotes by Emily Post
There is much to be said for post-menopausal celibacy. Sex is rough on loners because you have to have somebody else around, but now I don't. No more diets to stay slim and desirable: I've had sex and I've had food, and I'd rather eat. ~ Florence King
Post Truthism quotes by Florence King
The great thing is to be found at one's post as a child of God, living each day as though it were our last, but planning as though the world might last a hundred years. ~ C.S. Lewis
Post Truthism quotes by C.S. Lewis
To use a word I never thought I'd apply to myself, I've sort of become a Luddite with regard to information. Where everyone else is getting their Twitter feeds from 'The New York Times' and their 'Huffington Post' emails, I live in a little bit of a bubble. ~ Mark Feuerstein
Post Truthism quotes by Mark Feuerstein
Bill Veeck was a charismatic and somewhat eccentric owner-fan during the post-WWII years. ~ Don Yaeger
Post Truthism quotes by Don Yaeger
Just mention the idea of warrantless wiretaps and expect to get hit up with a congressional investigation. But give somebody an avatar and a URL, and he can't tweet, post or hyperlink enough personal information about himself to as many people as possible. ~ John Ridley
Post Truthism quotes by John Ridley
I'm helpless in post-round, hole-by-hole interviews. I can't take you through most of the holes of winning the Players Championship, the U.S. Amateur or Ryder Cup matches. It's like golf amnesia. ~ Matt Kuchar
