The perfect comeback only comes to you way after the offending incident, most especially when you're alone in the shower with no one but the shampoo bottle to tell it to. ~ Emma Mills
Lucky Caller quotes by Emma Mills
I'm very, very lucky in that I have a partner who is willing to do it with me in a really collaborative way. Fortunately, even though we couldn't stay in a romantic relationship, our values are very much around the importance of family and the importance of those relationships. ~ Gwyneth Paltrow
Lucky Caller quotes by Gwyneth Paltrow
I've been very, very lucky in my career, in my life - from day one. When aspiring directors say, 'What's your advice?' first I say, 'Be born the son of a famous director. It's invaluable.' ~ Jason Reitman
Lucky Caller quotes by Jason Reitman
So I think where people tend to end up results from a combination of encouragement, accident, and lucky break, etc. etc. Like many others, my career happened like it did because certain doors opened and certain doors closed. You know, at a certain point I thought it would be great to make film documentaries. Well, in fact, I found that to be incredibly hard and very expensive to do and I didn't really have the courage to keep battling away at that. In another age, I might have been an academic in a university, if the university system had been different. So it's all about trying to find the best fit between your talents and what the world can offer at that point in time. ~ Alain De Botton
Lucky Caller quotes by Alain De Botton
I don't believe in greatness that is bestowed as a rare gift to a few lucky ones. Rather, I think all people have greatness inside them. It is just a matter of persistence
sticking to what you have envisioned until it is reality. I have a deep conviction that everyone, including you, has been given exactly the right set of gifts to fulfill some magnificent purpose in life. Greatness must simply be chosen. And if you choose it, it will happen. ~ Ilchi Lee
Lucky Caller quotes by Ilchi Lee
I'm so lucky, I've been so successful, so much has come my way. I want to give back. ~ Vendela Kirsebom
Lucky Caller quotes by Vendela Kirsebom
I've been lucky to play characters that are really broad. ~ Anton Yelchin
Lucky Caller quotes by Anton Yelchin
Always following behind a prosecuting attorney, one defense counselor or another was unwittingly drawn into a debate with the previous speaker. ~ Jason Lucky Morrow
Lucky Caller quotes by Jason Lucky Morrow
It just makes so many other things insignificant. It is the most incredible thing that has happened to me, and I feel so lucky to have found the person I want to be with, and to be prepared and enthusiastic. ~ Ryan Phillippe
Lucky Caller quotes by Ryan Phillippe
Yeah you were lucky, you had your chances to don't get shoot, but after all you done it for your girlfriend, but what kind of love is that?
So far you got lucky a lot of shoots touched you, so far you are the lucky shooty victim. ~ Deyth Banger
Lucky Caller quotes by Deyth Banger
You talk like the Nazis were going to win the election, Bernie."
"I keep hoping they won't. And I keep worrying that they might. But I've got seven loaves and five fishes telling me the republic needs more than just a lucky break this time. If I wasn't a cop, I might believe in miracles. But I am and I don't. In this job you meet the lazy, the stupid, the cruel, and the indifferent. Unfortunately, that's what's called an electorate. ~ Philip Kerr
Lucky Caller quotes by Philip Kerr
Writers are lucky. Whatever the mood, no matter the longing, the writer can use his words to connect himself to any world he wishes to visit. ~ Alan Zweibel
Lucky Caller quotes by Alan Zweibel
You're lucky you're good in
bed."
"Oh." He grabbed at my foot. "I think you keep me around for other reasons."
I slanted him a look out of the corner of my eye. "Right now, for the life of me I can't think what those reasons are."
Braden tugged harder on my foot, raising his fingers towards it. "Take it back or the foot getsit."
Oh hell no! I yanked at my appendage.
"Braden, no."
Deaf to my warning, he started to tickle me,his grip tightening as I laughed breathlessly and
kicked out, trying to get free.
He wouldn't stop. Ruthless!
"Braden," I panted hysterically, attempting to shove at him with my arms but struggling as he continued his war on my feet. I laughed harder,
ribs aching, and then… horror.
I broke wind.
Big time.
Braden immediately let go of my feet, his loud, rumbling laugh filling the room, laughter that only deepened when I lost balance, from kicking out
at him and then being abruptly let go, and fell off the couch with an undignified thud.
Mortified as he collapsed against the couch
belly laughing at my fart then fall, I grabbed a cushion and launched it at him from my position on the floor.
Of course this only made the idiot laugh
harder. I warred between feeling humiliation at farting in front of him, something you just didn't do in
company, and laughing, since his was so
infectious. "Braden!" I whined. "Shut up. It's not funny," I huffed, my lips caught i ~ Samantha Young
Lucky Caller quotes by Samantha Young
Ruby: I've decided. I'm putting my Gary on a diet.
Rosie: You're putting him on a diet? How on earth can you control what your twenty-one-year-old son eats?
Ruby: Oh it's easy; I'll just nail down everything to the floor.
Rosie: So what kind of diet is it?
Ruby: I don't know. I bought a magazine, but there are so many stupid diets out there I don't know which one to pick. Remember that ridiculous one that you and I did last year? The alphabet one where we had to eat foods beginning with a certain letter every day?
Rosie: Oh yeah! How long did we do that for?!
Ruby: Em . . . that would be 26 days of course Rosie
Rosie: Oh . . . right . . . of course. You put on weight on the third day.
Ruby: That's because the third day was the lucky letter "C" . . . Cakes . . . mmmm
Rosie: Well we made up for it on the last day. I was bloody starving on "Z" day; I was practically chasing zebras with a kitchen knife around the zoo. Could have eaten the zoo I suppose . . .
Ruby: You should have done what I did, I ate like a queen. I became German for the day and ate "ze cakes" and "ze buns." Oh I don't know Rosie. I think I'll just invent a diet of my own and give those stupid magazines a run for their money ~ Cecelia Ahern
Lucky Caller quotes by Cecelia Ahern
I thought of telling him I didn't know about reasons, only about chains - how they form themselves, link by link, out of nothing; how they knit themselves into the world. Sometimes you can grab a chain and use it to pull yourself out of a dark place. Mostly, though, I think you get wrapped up in them. Just caught, if you're lucky. Fucking strangled, if you're not. ~ Stephen King
Lucky Caller quotes by Stephen King
The one thing that makes me feel super lucky about my financial success is that I have a housekeeper. ~ Gwen Stefani
Lucky Caller quotes by Gwen Stefani
Well you stick the dynamite in the keyhole and you don't damage the safe, only sometimes you put a little too much in and blow the safe door up, but other times you're lucky and the safe just comes open.
Thus the scion of a great banking dynasty learned how to rob a bank. ~ Ben Macintyre
Lucky Caller quotes by Ben Macintyre
I am old enough to remember every Red Sox season since 1975. Baseball is long. Baseball takes forever. It's day in, day out, for six solid months - seven if you're lucky. Winning is always fun. ~ Bill Simmons
Lucky Caller quotes by Bill Simmons
You just have to take these opportunities when they come along. They're not that frequent; you'll get a really good script, oh, maybe once a year if you're lucky. ~ Felicity Jones
Lucky Caller quotes by Felicity Jones
She picked me up, dusted me off, and kicked my ass. Maybe we all need that from time to time. If we're lucky, there's someone there who cares enough to do it. ~ Paula Garner
Lucky Caller quotes by Paula Garner
I'm the lucky one," she says. "I'm married to the most loving, romantic, devoted, beautiful man in the world, who waited eight years for me to wake up. Without any idea if I ever would. Then he spent another year and a half getting me to fall in love with him when I had no clue who I even was. ~ Carian Cole
Lucky Caller quotes by Carian Cole
I don't want to be the funny girl or the serious girl. I would hope to touch on all different genres and all different types of characters, which I think I've been lucky enough to do, so far. ~ Yvonne Strahovski
Lucky Caller quotes by Yvonne Strahovski
I may not like performing in musicales, but I love rehearsing with the three of
you."
Her three cousins stared at her, momentarily nonplussed.
"Don't you realize how lucky we are?" Honoria said. And then,
when no one leapt to agree, she added, "To have each other?"
"Couldn't we have each other over a game of cards?" Iris suggested. ~ Julia Quinn
Lucky Caller quotes by Julia Quinn
Actors, I don't think, ever really grow up. I'm hoping that that rejuvenating process applies to me, too. It has so far. I've been very lucky. ~ Derek Jacobi
Lucky Caller quotes by Derek Jacobi
The only way to learn is to keep doing something new, and, if you're lucky, learning with people who really know how to do it. ~ Nora Ephron
Lucky Caller quotes by Nora Ephron
All my success seems to come straight away, and it's not until later that I get to appreciate it. Like with 'Popstars,' I won the competition, and now I look back and go, 'God, I was lucky to have number-one singles and albums.' ~ Sophie Monk
Lucky Caller quotes by Sophie Monk
If you're not failing all the time, you're not creating a situation where you can get lucky. ~ Ira Glass
Lucky Caller quotes by Ira Glass
I have been very lucky, I have won prizes and I've even won the lottery. ~ Erro
Lucky Caller quotes by Erro
I am the kind of guy who has never taken myself too seriously. I mean, I am very serious about what I do; I'm very serious about the creative process and everything, but at the end of the day, I am just another lucky geek who got to live out a dream, you know? ~ Corey Taylor
Lucky Caller quotes by Corey Taylor
I brought us all Big Macs," he said happily. "I know you dig 'em, remember?" "What the ... " Tohr tightened his grip on his shellan, just in case ... well, shit, with the way things were going lately, anything could happen. "What are you doing here?" "It's your lucky day, motherfucker. ~ J.R. Ward
Lucky Caller quotes by J.R. Ward
In 1934, strongman Fulgencio Batista forced President Grau's resignation. Then in 1940, Grau lost his bid for the Presidency to his adversary Batista. Four years later in 1944, he did win the election and took office for a four-year term starting on October 10th. After Grau won the election and was the President elect, Batista still in office, blatantly attacked the National Treasury, leaving the cupboards bare by the time Grau was actually sworn in as President.
Since Grau and Batista were staunch adversaries, it is highly unlikely that any deal could have been made in 1946 to allow "Lucky" Luciano into Cuba, especially with Luciano having been exiled to Sicily by the United States government that preceding February. Still, Lansky had enough political pull within the Cuban government to prepare for a strong Mafia presence in Havana.
In October of 1946, in an attempt to keep his whereabouts a secret, "Lucky" Luciano covertly boarded a freighter taking him from Naples, Italy, to Caracas, Venezuela. Then Luciano flew south to Rio de Janeiro and returned north to Mexico City. On October 29, 1946, he arranged for a private flight from Mexico City to Camagüey, Cuba, where Meyer Lansky met him. Having the right connections, Luciano passed through Cuban customs unimpeded and was whisked by car to the splendid Grand Hotel.
Luciano, having just arrived in Cuba, was looking forward to setting up operations. Cuba would actually be a better place than the United States fo ~ Hank Bracker
Lucky Caller quotes by Hank Bracker
Well, I've been lucky. I've never gotten a voice polyp. I've never gotten nodes. But I do get sick, usually every tour, and to varying degrees. Sometimes it's a sinusitis. ~ Geddy Lee
Lucky Caller quotes by Geddy Lee
I wish I could say I had some sort of master plan where one role leads to the next role, but a lot of it really is persistence and luck and being prepared when you are asked to jump on a project. There isn't any one rule that I follow. Obviously, I'll always shoot to work with the best actors, directors and filmmakers. I've been incredibly lucky to be able to do that. ~ Dermot Mulroney
Lucky Caller quotes by Dermot Mulroney
I feel so lucky to have both a son and a daughter, because there's a different relationship with each of them. ~ Hugh Jackman
Lucky Caller quotes by Hugh Jackman
I am not lucky. I am the type who would go to Lourdes and drown in the waters. ~ Joan Rivers
Lucky Caller quotes by Joan Rivers
A murderer is always a gambler. And, like many gamblers, a murderer often does not know when to stop. With each crime his opinion of his own abilities is strengthened. His sense of proportion is warped. He does not say, 'I have been clever and lucky!' No, he says only, 'l have been clever!' And his opinion of his cleverness grows... and then, roes amis, the ball spins ~ Agatha Christie
Lucky Caller quotes by Agatha Christie
Everyone is running from something. But if we're lucky, really lucky, fate intervenes and presents an opportunity to conquer our fears. Only then, if triumphant, can a destiny bestowed become a destiny fulfilled. ~ Rome Sims
Lucky Caller quotes by Rome Sims
People ask me, "Why don't you call in the blind?" I ask them, "Would you call with Phil Robertson in your blind?"
It's like pinch-hitting for Albert Pujols. It doesn't make sense when you have the best duck caller in the world in your blind. The benefits of not screwing up are better than those of taking a chance on doing something stupid. Believe me: if you mess up, you're going to hear about it. I never will forget when we had about twenty-five mallards almost in the hole. They were on their third pass down when the text message alert on my phone went off. After my phone buzzed, the mallards decided not to come in. Phil looked down the row of guys with a look that was a mixture of craziness, agony, and Satan himself.
"What was that?" he hollered.
Now, there was no way I was gonna fess up.
"I heard something!" Phil yelled again.
I didn't feel like trying to explain to him that there was no way the ducks heard my phone from sixty yards away, so I didn't say a word. I'm glad waterboarding isn't allowed in the blind, because ol' Phil would have filled our faces with water to find the culprit. There is always a lot of pressure to have 100 percent success. If we get four out of six ducks, we'll sit there and debate for the next two hours why we didn't get all six. ~ Willie Robertson
Lucky Caller quotes by Willie Robertson
I played piano in a covers band, but that didn't especially help with girls. There is never a piano around after the shows. Guys with the guitars were the ones who got lucky. ~ Jonathan Tropper
Lucky Caller quotes by Jonathan Tropper
For the clever and lucky, all roads are open! ~ Mehmet Murat Ildan
Lucky Caller quotes by Mehmet Murat Ildan
I feel lucky in that I don't really have to go to college to study something job-specific. I just want to go to learn about what is interesting to me and learn about the classes that you don't really get to take in high school because you have to take the basics. ~ Tavi Gevinson
Lucky Caller quotes by Tavi Gevinson
Some will call this self-indulgence
(They are lucky not to know its truth)
Some will know the simple fact of pain
This is becoming my normality ~ Sarah Kane
Lucky Caller quotes by Sarah Kane
If Facebook is Lucky Charms, Instagram is just the marshmallows. ~ Casey Neistat
Lucky Caller quotes by Casey Neistat
Oh, baby, don't ask me that question. I know exactly who and what I am…and more to the point, what I'm capable of. How dare you bring your prissy little ass into one of my clubs and pull this shit. You're lucky you're still breathing. (Savitar) ~ Sherrilyn Kenyon
Lucky Caller quotes by Sherrilyn Kenyon
You," she said, bending an icy eye on Elizabeth, "come with me. You have much to explain, madam, and you can do it while Faulkner attends to your appearance."
"I am not," Elizabeth said in a burst of frustrated anger, "going to think of my appearance at a time like this."
The duchess's brows shot into her hairline. "Have you come to persuade them that your husband is innocent?"
"Well, of course I have. I-"
"Then don't shame him more than you already have! You look like a refugee from a dustbin in Bedlam. You'll be lucky if they don't hang you for putting them to all this trouble!" She started up the staircase with Elizabeth following slowly behind, listening to her tirade with only half her mind. "Now, if your misbegotten brother would do us the honor of showing himself, your husband might not have to spend the night in a dungeon, which is exactly where Jordan thinks he's going to land if the prosecutors have their way."
Elizabeth stopped on the third step. "Will you please listen to me for a moment-" she began angrily.
"I'll listen to you all the way to Westminster," the dowager snapped back sarcastically. "I daresay all London will be eager to hear what you have to say for yourself in tomorrow's paper!"
"For the love of God!" Elizabeth cried at her back, wondering madly to whom she could turn for speedier help. An hour was an eternity! "I have not come merely to show that I'm alive. I can prove that Robert is alive and that he came to no h ~ Judith McNaught
Lucky Caller quotes by Judith McNaught
I've been pretty lucky in the leading men department. ~ Cate Blanchett
Lucky Caller quotes by Cate Blanchett
Some things you carry around inside you as though they were part of your blood and bones, and when that happens, there's nothing you can do to forget

…But I had never been much of a believer. If anything, I believed that things got worse before they got better. I believed good people suffered... people who have faith were so lucky; you didn't want to ruin it for them. You didn't want to plant doubt where there was none. You had to treat suck individuals tenderly and hope that some of whatever they were feeling rubs off on you

Those who love you will love you forever, without questions or boundaries or the constraints of time. Daily life is real, unchanging as a well-built house. But houses burn; they catch fire in the middle of the night.

The night is like any other night of disaster, with every fact filtered through a veil of disbelief. The rational world has spun so completely out of its orbit, there is no way to chart or expect what might happen next

At that point, they were both convinced that love was a figment of other people's imaginations, an illusion fashioned out of smoke and air that really didn't exist

Fear, like heat, rises; it drifts up to the ceiling and when it falls down it pours out in a hot and horrible rain

True love, after all, could bind a man where he didn't belong. It could wrap him in cords that were all but impossible to break

Fear is contagious. It doubles with ~ Alice Hoffman
Lucky Caller quotes by Alice Hoffman
Fiji, I'm betting you don't drink a lot," he said, trying to suppress a smile.
"I don't," she confessed. "How did you know?"
"Just a lucky guess."
"You think he'd like my phone number?"
"Feej, that guy is tough as nails, and he's not only been around the block, he's run a marathon. He could eat you for breakfast," Olivia said, half smiling.
"And wouldn't that be a great way to wake up?" Fiji said, with a broad wink. Manfred laughed; he couldn't help it. ~ Charlaine Harris
