For whatever reason I tend to get roles that are more damaged. ~ Kathleen Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Kathleen Robertson
Canada has one great novelist (Robertson Davies), which means it has one for every twenty-five million citizens - the world's highest ratio. ~ George Will
Guylene Robertson quotes by George Will
History is, after all, something that happened to people. No 'force' whether economic or political can act except as it acts through the minds and bodies of human beings. ~ Priscilla Smith Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Priscilla Smith Robertson
You know what they do in San Francisco? Some in the gay community there, they want to get people. So if they got the stuff they'll have a ring, you shake hands and the ring's got a little thing where you cut your finger. Really. It's that kind of vicious stuff, which would be the equivalent of murder. ~ Pat Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Pat Robertson
The drama may be called that part of theatrical art which lends itself most readily to intellectual discussion: what is left is theater. ~ Robertson Davies
Guylene Robertson quotes by Robertson Davies
I guess the GOP may be more desperate than I thought to call somebody like me. ~ Phil Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Phil Robertson
In 2008, an Australian company commissioned a study to find out exactly how much people fear public speaking. The survey of more than one thousand people found that 23 percent feared public speaking more than death itself! As Jerry Seinfeld once said, most people attending a funeral would rather be in the casket than delivering the eulogy!
I can relate to those people because I feared speaking in front of a class or group of people more than anything else when I was a kid. In fact, I dropped speech in high school because when I signed up for it I thought it was a grammar class for an English credit. When I found out it actually required giving an oral presentation, I didn't want any part of it! After hearing the overview of the class on the first day, I got out of my seat and walked toward the door; the teacher asked me where I was going. We had a brief meeting in the hall, in which she informed me that nobody ever dropped her class. After a meeting with the principal, I dropped the class, but on the condition that I might be called upon in the near future to use my hunting and fishing skills. I thought the principal was joking--until I was called upon later that year during duck season to pick ducks during recess! I looked at it as a fair trade. ~ Jase Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Jase Robertson
I mean the terrorists are - are like a pimple, like a boil. They'll go away. ~ Pat Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Pat Robertson
NATO and the EU have also agreed on permanent arrangements on consultation and cooperation between themselves. ~ Lord Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Lord Robertson
My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together. ~ Phil Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Phil Robertson
An actor can change himself to fit a part, whereas a personality has to change the part to fit himself. The personality has to say it his own way. ~ Dale Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Dale Robertson
The greatest proof that the Bible is inspired is that it has withstood so much bad preaching! ~ Archibald Thomas Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Archibald Thomas Robertson
Brethren, happiness is not our being's end and aim. The Christian's aim is perfection, not happiness; and every one of the sons of God must have something of that spirit which marked his Master. ~ Frederick William Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Frederick William Robertson
We mistrust anything that too strongly challenges our ideal of mediocrity. ~ Robertson Davies
Guylene Robertson quotes by Robertson Davies
Women with whiskers ... its a bummer. ~ Phil Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Phil Robertson
You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if [President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela] thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war. And I don't think any oil shipments will stop. [ ... ] We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we exercise that ability. We don't need another $200 billion war to get rid of one, you know, strong-arm dictator. It's a whole lot easier to have some of the covert operatives do the job and then get it over with. ~ Pat Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Pat Robertson
Only your customers can define quality, because it's meeting your customers' expectations the first time every time. Simply put, it's performance to the standards of the customer. ~ Ed Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Ed Robertson
We had to sit there for an hour doing nothing. After about three days of sitting there, I said, "Screw this. I'm going to West Monroe High." I realized I wanted to be in town anyway, so I just transferred schools during the first week of school.
After about a month, the principal from West Ouachita called our house.
"Willie hasn't been to school for twenty-seven days," the principal told Phil.
"Well, he leaves for school every morning," Phil told him. "I don't know where he's going. I thought he was going to school."
When I got home that day, Phil asked me where I had been.
"School," I told him.
"Uh-uh," Phil said. "The school called and said you haven't been there in a month."
"Oh, yeah," I told him. "I transferred to West Monroe. I don't go to that school anymore."
"Okay," Phil said. "I figured something was up."

Korie: Can you imagine a tenth-grader transferring schools without even notifying his parents? Willie just showed up at West Monroe High School and said, "Hey, I'm here." He didn't even think about telling Kay and Phil about transferring. ~ Willie Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Willie Robertson
If he [Hugo Chavez] thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. ~ Pat Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Pat Robertson
On the clarity of your ideas depends the scope of your success in any endeavor. ~ James Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by James Robertson
The house stank; a stench all its own pervaded every corner. It was a threnody in the key of Cat minor, with a ground-bass of Old Dog, and modulations of old people, waning lives, and relinquished hopes. ~ Robertson Davies
Guylene Robertson quotes by Robertson Davies
Robertson called his ship the Titan; the White Star Line called its ship the Titanic. This is the story of her last night. ~ Walter Lord
Guylene Robertson quotes by Walter Lord
Just like what Nazi Germany did to the Jews, so liberal America is now doing to the evangelical Christians. It's no different. It is the same thing. It is happening all over again. It is the Democratic Congress, the liberal-based media and the homosexuals who want to destroy the Christians. Wholesale abuse and discrimination and the worst bigotry directed toward any group in America today. More terrible than anything suffered by any minority in history. ~ Pat Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Pat Robertson
The Ten Commandments are the most visible symbol because these commandments are recognized by Christians and Jews alike as being the foundation of our system of public morality. ~ Pat Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Pat Robertson
We win by tenderness. We conquer by forgiveness. ~ Frederick William Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Frederick William Robertson
We caught seventy-five frogs that night! We left our ice chest in the truck, so I was putting frogs in my socks and the pockets of my pants and shirt.
When we couldn't carry any more frogs, we made our way back to my truck. As soon as we arrived, police cars came from every direction. A homeowner in the neighborhood must have seen my truck and feared we were burglars. As the police questioned us, they must have thought Mike was drunk, because he couldn't stop laughing. They kept asking me what we'd been drinking and smoking and where it was. When a policeman shined a light on my shirt, I figured out what Mike was giggling about. I forgot I'd stuffed a frog into the front pocket of my shirt and buttoned it. Its legs were sticking out of my pocket and it looked like it was wearing a diaper! The police let us go but warned us to never sneak back onto the golf course because it was trespassing. We probably went back three or four times by a different route and never were caught. ~ Jase Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Jase Robertson
What I tell young couples that are getting married is: you're going to have quarrels, and on some things, you're just going to have to agree to disagree. And when you go to bed at night, kiss each other and tell each other that you love each other. Don't go to bed mad. Life is too short. Keep it simple. ~ Si Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Si Robertson
I think a lot of people have unreasonable expectations because they never stop to consider what life actually has to offer them. They're always looking for some great epiphany from the skies. They never stop to consider the fact which human beings find hardest to recognize: Maybe I'm not worthy of an epiphany. ~ Robertson Davies
Guylene Robertson quotes by Robertson Davies
On our second date, I picked up Missy at her house and told her we had to make a pit stop to pick up crawfish bait at the fish market. We'd figured out a way to speed up the process by using the fish market's gutbuckets instead of running nets ourselves. Through trial and error, we determined that the best crawfish bait was buffalo-fish heads. Unfortunately, when I pulled up to the market to get the garbage cans full of fish heads, I realized they had been outside for a couple of days. It was a warm day, and I could tell from the buzzing of hundreds of flies it was going to be nasty! I knew it was going to be the ultimate test of our relationship. The tubs were too heavy for one man to carry, so I told Missy, "I'm going to need your help on this." She crawled out the window, and I led her to the trash cans filled with buffalo heads waiting for us. Like an idiot, the first thing she did was open the lid of a trash can. Immediately, she started gagging and dry-heaving in the parking lot.
"Rule number two," I said. "Never pop the lid on a trash can."
Much to my surprise, Missy regained her composure and helped me load the trash cans into the back of my truck. Right then, I realized our relationship might work out. She was climbing through windows and hauling fish heads. ~ Jase Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Jase Robertson
Diana held Patrick's hand and settled him on the sofa between herself and her husband. I sat facing them and the closed door to the hallway beyond. We all had a cool drink and continued to talk.
I could hardly believe my eyes as I watched Patrick nestled on the sofa between the most famous couple in the world. As I carried on my conversation with the royal pair, I kept thinking, "I can't believe this! I simply can't believe this! ~ Mary Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Mary Robertson
If she gets the jitters now, then she isn't the great champion that she is. ~ Max Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Max Robertson
Stoners just got a powerful new ally in the fight to legalize marijuana - conservative broadcaster Pat Robertson. He said it's time to 'you know, legalize it, tax it, and keep it away from Mel Gibson.' ~ Craig Ferguson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Craig Ferguson
I think that basketball players should get the job done no matter how it looks on the screen. ~ Oscar Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Oscar Robertson
Jase grew up in a home where the doors were never locked, and he never saw any reason for us to lock ours. "A locked door won't stop a thief," he reasoned, "so you might as well save your door." Those teenagers could have turned the handle! Now, since Duck Dynasty came into our lives, all of us Robertsons have learned to lock our doors. Better yet, we have installed high-tech security systems. ~ Missy Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Missy Robertson
For when man comes to front the everlasting God, and look the splendor of His judgments in the face, personal integrity, the dream of spotlessness and innocence, vanishes into thin air: your decencies and your church-goings and your regularities and your attachment to a correct school and party, your gospel formulas of sound doctrine
what is all that, in front of the blaze of the wrath to come? ~ Frederick William Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Frederick William Robertson
Admit only your victories until you have hooked their interest, then you draw them closer and admit the sort of failings that reflect well on a fellow, sentimental failings: that was the theory of courtship the young master had formulated... ~ Claire Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Claire Robertson
Never insult a mans beard, you either get thunder or lightning ~ Si Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Si Robertson
Life is large. We cannot possibly grasp the whole of it in the few years that we have to live. What is vital? What is essential? What may we profitably let go? ~ Anna Robertson Brown Lindsay
Guylene Robertson quotes by Anna Robertson Brown Lindsay
As we were getting Mia's things ready for her discharge, her nurse started to excuse herself to get a wheelchair to transport Mia to the car. Instantly, Mia said, "I'm not riding in a wheelchair."
"Yes, you are, Mia. It's a hospital regulation," I said, believing that was true.
"Mom," she protested, "they said I'm supposed to walk as much as possible. I'm walking to the car."
I saw a certain look in Mia's eyes as she made this announcement, the look that says "I am going to push hard for this." I knew she was determined, and I would fight a losing battle to try to talk her out of it.
"I'm walking out of here," she said again.
I guess the medical staff noticed that look too because they allowed her to try to walk, with a nurse close beside her. Seeing that little girl limp her way down the hall, holding Reed's hand, was one of the proudest moments of my life. I was absolutely amazed by her spunk and determination. I grabbed my cell phone from my purse and snapped a picture.
She is such a fighter, I thought as Jase and I followed her. Visually, she looked roughed up, as though she had been through about fifteen rounds in a boxing match. But in that moment, she showed a level of toughness and resilience I have never seen in a child.
Remembering the information we were told on that first visit to ICI when Mia was seventeen days old, that she would need physical therapy to help her walk again after this surgery, I thanked God as I watched our da ~ Missy Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Missy Robertson
An infant is a seed. Is it an oak seed or a cabbage seed? Who knows. All mothers think their children are oaks, but the world never lacks for cabbages. ~ Robertson Davies
Guylene Robertson quotes by Robertson Davies
Our forebears are deserving of tribute for one indisputable reason, if for no other: without them we should not be here. Let us recognize that we are not the ultimate triumph but rather we are beads on a string. Let us behave with decency to the beads that were strung before us and hope modestly that the beads that come after us will not hold us of no account simply because we are dead. ~ Robertson Davies
Guylene Robertson quotes by Robertson Davies
Crawfish have ding dongs and vaginas. ~ Phil Robertson
Guylene Robertson quotes by Phil Robertson
Honest and outspoken, honorable and uncompromising, Jubal A. Early epitomized much that was the Southern Confederacy. His self-reliance, courage, sagacity, and devotion to the cause brought confidence then just as it inspires reverence now. ~ James I. Robertson, Jr.
Guylene Robertson quotes by James I. Robertson, Jr.
When I started out in the duck-call business, my college buddies would come in and say, 'Robertson, you have a college degree. What are you doing?' Then they drove away saying, 'What an idiot!' Thirty-five years later, they're saying, 'The sucker's a genius!' ~ Si Robertson
