You could travel the world, but nothing comes close to the golden coast. Once you party with us, you'll be falling in love, Oooooh Oh Oooooh! ~ Katy Perry
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Katy Perry
Keeping high-volume procedures within general hospitals allows hospitals to subsidize the unique, low-volume specialized capabilities that are so central to the value proposition of their solution shops- being able to diagnose and embark on a therapy for anything that might be wrong. ~ Clayton M. Christensen
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Clayton M. Christensen
The reason I moved to California the first time was to build the Cobra. I thought it was stupid to have a 1918 taxicab engine in what Europeans like to call a performance car when a little American V-8 could do the job better. ~ Carroll Shelby
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Carroll Shelby
I opened a restaurant that had nothing but California wines. ~ Paul Prudhomme
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Paul Prudhomme
Katz traces the courageous role of Black women in settling the West (and] deftly shows how these pioneering spirits helped stabilize early communities in Texas, Oklahoma, California and elsewhere. ~ Herb Boyd
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Herb Boyd
No wonder the film industry started in the desert in California where, like all desert dwellers, they dream their buildings, rather than design them. ~ Arthur Erickson
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Arthur Erickson
I believe therapy can be done more rapidly. I'm into your finding the source of what's making you think and feel the way you do and shifting it quickly. ~ Tony Robbins
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Tony Robbins
Jesse Helms wants me to move to the right, Lowell Weiker wants me to move to the left, and Teddy Kennedy wants me to move back to California. ~ Ronald Reagan
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Ronald Reagan
I went back to the States and started at a small newspaper in Riverside County, California, covering the police; I was making $280 a week covering the police. ~ John Pomfret
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by John Pomfret
It's therapy. It's just something to do so you're not lost in your own not-so-nice thoughts, and it's an opportunity to think about something a lot nicer and to do something that's with more purpose. So you do it, and you take your passion and you put a lot into it, and at some point you get recognized for it. But that recognition doesn't mean the man is without his own demons or without his own struggles. ~ Kai Greene
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Kai Greene
I've written a lot about southern California, but I don't use the same characters. Leave the people in the songs in the songs, is my philosophy. ~ John Darnielle
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by John Darnielle
It's awful, writing such terrible things about the person you love, but I'll take a pen and paper over a psychiatrist's chair any day of the week. This is my therapy. ~ Pete Wentz
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Pete Wentz
Want to discover the truth about deception in therapy? Jeffrey Kottler and Jon Carlson have collected a formable collection of old pros whose compelling prose sheds light on an important, but previously unexplored, subtext that permeates psychotherapy. Don't fool yourself: The roadmap to avoid being duped is contained within. ~ Jeffrey K. Zeig
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Jeffrey K. Zeig
I started crying when the group [therapy] was over because the last thing we did upset me - we all held a piece of the same cloth, leaned back and supported each other's weight. I couldn't do it. I bent my legs and elbows and stood very firm, yet . . .
I needed to feel supported, as i do in life, but i can't let myself be, and i pretend not to need that support. ~ Carol Lee
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Carol Lee
What I wonder is what would happen in California, say, if all the Mexicans left from one day to the next? ~ Alma Guillermoprieto
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Alma Guillermoprieto
Whether or not you employ humor in dealing with difficult subjects, the tone of the writing is of the utmost importance. Personally, I can read about almost any subject if I feel a basic trust in, and respect for, the writer. The voice must have authority. But more than that, I must know that the writer is all right. If she describes a suicide attempt or a babysitter's cruelty to her, or a time of acute loneliness, I need to feel that the writer, not the character who survived the experience, is in control of telling the story....The tone of such pieces may be serious, ironic, angry, sad, or almost anything except whiny. There must be no hidden plea for help - no subtle seeking of sympathy. The writer must have done her work, made her peace with the facts, and be telling the story for the story's sake. Although the writing may incidentally turn out to be another step in her recovery, that must not be her visible motivation: literary writing is not therapy. Her first allegiance must be to the telling of the story and I, as the reader, must feel that I'm in the hands of a competent writer who needs nothing from me except my attention. ~ Judith Barrington
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Judith Barrington
The Truth the Dead Know

For my Mother, born March 1902, died March 1959
and my Father, born February 1900, died June 1959

Gone, I say and walk from church,
refusing the stiff procession to the grave,
letting the dead ride alone in the hearse.
It is June. I am tired of being brave.

We drive to the Cape. I cultivate
myself where the sun gutters from the sky,
where the sea swings in like an iron gate
and we touch. In another country people die.

My darling, the wind falls in like stones
from the whitehearted water and when we touch
we enter touch entirely. No one's alone.
Men kill for this, or for as much.

And what of the dead? They lie without shoes
in the stone boats. They are more like stone
than the sea would be if it stopped. They refuse
to be blessed, throat, eye and knucklebone.

Anne Sexton was a model who became a confessional poet, writing about intimate aspects of her life, after her doctor suggested that she take up poetry as a form of therapy. She studied under Robert Lowell at Boston University, where Sylvia Plath was one of her classmates. Sexton won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1967, but later committed suicide via carbon monoxide poisoning. Topics she covered in her poems included adultery, masturbation, menstruation, abortion, despair and suicide. ~ Anne Sexton
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Anne Sexton
There's a psychologist called Mary & Diamond who at Brooklyn in California, in the 80s studied rats. And they took rats at different ages. Newborns, some of whom they deliberately brain damaged, adult, middle-aged, elderly rats. And they exposed these rats to different levels of environmental stimulation, better food, more playmates, toys to play with and so on.

They found out a couple of months later that the rats, at any age, including the brain-damaged rats, who had the better stimulation, they were smarter. But in the autopsy then they also found that in the front part of their brain they had larger nerve-cells with more connections with other nerve-cells and richer blood supply. In other words that environmental stimulation actually caused a change in the state of the brain, even in the older rats.

And that's called neuroplasticity. The capacity of the brain to develop new circuits. So whether it comes to ADHD, addiction, depression or other childhood disorders or any other issue with adults as well, if we recognize them not as ingrained, genetically-determined diseases, but as problems of development, then the question becomes very different. Then the question becomes not just "how do we treat the symptoms?" (and addiction itself is a symptom, depression is a symptom), but "how do we help people develop out of these conditions?"

In other words, it is not a medical question, purely, but a developmental question. And development always ~ Gabor Mate
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Gabor Mate
Everyone in a complex system has a slightly different interpretation. The more interpretations we gather, the easier it becomes to gain a sense of the whole. ~ Margaret J. Wheatley
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Margaret J. Wheatley
The main reason we learn any habit, as Drs. Frederick Kanfer and Jeanne Phillips tell us in Learning Foundations of Behavior Therapy, is that even a seemingly counterproductive habit like procrastination is immediately followed by some reward. Procrastination reduces tension by taking us away from something we view as painful or threatening. The more painful work is for you, the more you will try to seek relief through avoidance or through involvement in more pleasurable activities. The more you feel that endless work deprives you of the pleasure of leisure time, the more you will avoid work. ~ Neil A. Fiore
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Neil A. Fiore
I deal with emotional pain through therapy, writing, therapy in music. I think emotional pain is best dealt with when you use art to express it. ~ Naturi Naughton
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Naturi Naughton
California lacks a lot of the rules and restrictions the East has. Every house is a different style, different material, different color. There's a lot of craziness out there. ~ Parker Stevenson
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Parker Stevenson
On a winter's day when a person's spirits may be low and to behold thirty to one-hundred Evening Grosbeaks busily gorging themselves on bird seed and perched in a stand of pines with all of them creating a cacophony of sparrow like chirps, this is real therapy for me. It is an act of contagious optimism. It is at such times I realize that a bird can do more for me than a shrink. ~ Barry Babcock
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Barry Babcock
There are two Venices I know about and one of them is a hotel in Vegas. The other is an L.A. beach where pretty girls walk their dogs while wearing as little as possible and mutant slabs of tanned, posthuman beef sip iced steroid lattes and pump iron until their pecs are the size of Volkswagens. ~ Richard Kadrey
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Richard Kadrey
People architect new lives all the time. I know this because I never see them again once they find these new lives. They have children or they move to new cities or even just to new neighborhoods or you hate their spouse or their spouse hates you or they start working the night shift or they start training for a marathon or they stop going to bars or they start going to therapy or they realize they don't like you anymore or they die. It happens constantly. It's just me. I haven't built anything new. I'm the one getting left behind. ~ Jami Attenberg
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Jami Attenberg
Life is like therapy - real expensive and no guarantees. ~ Garth Brooks
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Garth Brooks
I pull into the mall. This is the place to go when you're feeling homesick for California. The rest of the world likes our buildings, contructs with 'character,' but Californians like everything spanking new, clean as an unopened package of plastic spoons. ~ Patricia Geary
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Patricia Geary
Every touchy-feely therapist will tell you to open up and express yourself, but all that leads to is the negotiation of desire and the disingenuous obligations based on those terms. ~ Rollo Tomassi
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Rollo Tomassi
I know a lot of people think therapy is about sitting around staring at your own navel - but it's staring at your own navel with a goal. And the goal is to one day to see the world in a better way and treat your loved ones with more kindness and have more to give. ~ Hugh Laurie
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Hugh Laurie
A big reason I wanted to do a tour was because I'm from Michigan and not many things go to Michigan. Most conventions are in like London or Florida or California, and that's about it. ~ Tyler Oakley
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Tyler Oakley
Instead of using therapy to try and reduce their fear and anger, people now celebrated these destructive emotions, labeling themselves as politically active rather than emotionally dysfunctional. ~ Gudjon Bergmann
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Gudjon Bergmann
grown up poor in the midst of Southern California affluence, graduated from Stanford Law School, and held a series of jobs, including corporate lawyer, developer of vast Southern California orange groves, and deputy chair of ~ Gwenda Blair
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Gwenda Blair
It is a fact that, up to seven million people a year are dying from fossil fuel pollution. It is a fact that we are already dealing with the catastrophe of climate change in places like California, where people have been burnt out of their homes and where they are dealing with record droughts. ~ Mark Ruffalo
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Mark Ruffalo
So I went to sleep thinking of her, of the curve of her back in a light cotton dress, of her hair twisted up into its crown of braids, of her, leaping from the zenith of the plastic swing set and clearing the sandbox, turning a neat lap around the whole of Eastwood, California, while I stood there, trapped in the dreariness of it all, numbly watching. ~ Robyn Schneider
California Sarcoma Therapy quotes by Robyn Schneider
Somehow, maybe I could heal her. Even as I thought it, I knew it was delusional. A person needed to want to get better, seek their own sanity. I wanted to be her therapy. I had a Christ complex. I belived I could be her saviour. The problem was, Jesus hadn´t left us, we´d crucified him. I´d forsaken her. She was the only one who could nail my heart to a cross. ~ Leila DeSint
