My technique is the outcome of thinking for myself, of my own logic and approach; it is not borrowed from what others are doing. ~ Charlie Chaplin
Belliard Technique quotes by Charlie Chaplin
The Alexander Technique helped a long-standing back problem and to get a good night's sleep after many years of tossing and turning. ~ Paul Newman
Belliard Technique quotes by Paul Newman
I don't believe in technique, I believe in performance. If you are tough,
whether you have technique or not, you'll survive. ~ Virender Sehwag
Belliard Technique quotes by Virender Sehwag
Someday someone is going to create a stir by proposing a radical new tool for the study people. It will be called the face-value technique. It would be based on the premise that people often do what they do for the reasons they think they do. The use of this technique will lead to many pitfalls, for it is undeniably true that people do not always act logically or say what they mean. But I wonder if it would produce findings any more unscientific than the opposite course. ~ William H. Whyte
Belliard Technique quotes by William H. Whyte
Technique itself springs from play, because we can acquire technique only by the practice of practice, by persistently experimenting and playing with our tools and testing their limits and resistances. ~ Stephen Nachmanovitch
Belliard Technique quotes by Stephen Nachmanovitch
I put the truth out there, I put the historical facts into Hip Hop to show us how much history repeats itself and that if we truly want to evolve as a human race, we need to stop sticking each other in ridiculous categories. ~ Immortal Technique
Belliard Technique quotes by Immortal Technique
Expanding further on his own observations of Prince's writing style(s) during the course of the album's recording, fellow Paisley Park engineer Eddie Miller, who engineered the recording of 'Electric Chair' among other Prince recordings during the Batman era, recalled that "he would write all sorts of ways. I have to admit that I listened to some of his cassette demos that he would sometimes bring into the studio to reference (as I remember, he would hold the cassette player up to his ear, so you couldn't really hear it.). They were fascinating. His cassette demo technique was extremely crude but ingenious - it's like something you'd do if you had no access to any equipment. He'd use two cheap cassette recorders. If he wanted to hear drums, he'd record a human beat box rhythm for the length of the song - and most likely, he'd have the form of the song in his head while he was recording this. By the way, it was the same in the studio when he'd do his one man band approach to recording a song. He'd know the song in his head, and start out recording the drums for the song (it would essentially become the 'click track' - the way a click track should be). Back to the cassette demo - he'd then play his beat box groove over the speaker on the cassette recorder and sing the bass line while recording all this onto the second cassette machine. He'd build up a rhythm track this way, and then add vocals. And there's your demo. ~ Jake Brown
Belliard Technique quotes by Jake Brown
I don't think the war is going to end, but the war is just going to change. So we talk about change all the time, well that's what's going to change. You know, we tried having an idiot try and justify the war and give us these rationales and now we're going to have a very articulate and capable black man say it. ~ Immortal Technique
Belliard Technique quotes by Immortal Technique
Accountants come in pairs these days. A middle-aged man in a dark suit and a sheen of perspiration, plus his younger accomplice, a woman who looks like her hobbies are arranging things in rows and making right angles. ~ Harry Bingham
Belliard Technique quotes by Harry Bingham
That's the standard technique of privatization: defund, make sure things don't work, people get angry, you hand it over to private capital. ~ Noam Chomsky
Belliard Technique quotes by Noam Chomsky
Yoga nidra is the yoga of aware sleep. In this lies the secret of self healing. Yoga Nidra is a pratyahara technique in which the distractions of the mind are contained and the mind is relaxed. ~ Satyananda Saraswati
Belliard Technique quotes by Satyananda Saraswati
I've worked with some teachers and coaches over the years, but I didn't really study theater or technique or voice or any of that stuff extensively. ~ Jessica Lange
Belliard Technique quotes by Jessica Lange
In food, it's really, like, either you're right, or you're wrong. You know, people's taste buds kind of vary, but there's a technique. Either you do it right, or you don't. ~ Kelis
Belliard Technique quotes by Kelis
There is no necessity for a technique or formula for meditation. Inner feeling, or inner knowing, is the silent voice of inspiration. ~ Walter Russell
Belliard Technique quotes by Walter Russell
Philosophy and science have not always been friendly toward the idea of God, the reason being they are dedicated to the task of accounting for things and are impatient with anything that refuses to give an account of itself. The philosopher and the scientist will admit that there is much that they do not know; but that is quite another thing from admitting there is something which they can never know, which indeed they have no technique for discovering. ~ A.W. Tozer
Belliard Technique quotes by A.W. Tozer
I've worked with incredible producers who have also taken my voice and brought it to another level. I think I have some natural abilities, but it's the technique that I've been learning from the best that keeps me going. I'm really honored to do it. ~ Margaret Cho
Belliard Technique quotes by Margaret Cho
In a culture of technique, we often confuse authority with power, but the two are not the same. Power works from the outside in, but authority works from the inside out ... I am painfully aware of the times in my own teaching when I lose touch with my inner teacher and therefore with my own authority. In those times I try to gain power by barricading myself behind the podium and my status while wielding the threat of grades ... Authority comes as I reclaim my identity and integrity, remembering my selfhood and my sense of vocation. ~ Parker J. Palmer
Belliard Technique quotes by Parker J. Palmer
Impression is not enough. Design, style, technique - these, too, are not enough. Art must reach further than impression or self-revelation . ~ Ansel Adams
Belliard Technique quotes by Ansel Adams
You can read books, blog posts, magazine articles (keep reading CODE Magazine, please), and watch training videos, and yet still not understand the impact of a technology in your development life. It's not until you build an application (large or small) using a particular tool, technique or technology that you will really get it. ~ Rod Paddock
Belliard Technique quotes by Rod Paddock
If you give a little credit to the concept of the artist, I think you ought to indulge excesses a bit, because that reflects the personality of the writer. Now if a joke is in bad taste or it's not funny, okay, that's awhole different thing, but how you craft a joke is really what the writer's job is, and I don't think that technique should be subject to any editorial constraints. ~ Bill Watterson
Belliard Technique quotes by Bill Watterson
What was the nature of the universe into which she had been born? Why did it exist at all? If it had a purpose, what was it? These seemed to her the only questions worth exploring. And the only valid technique evolved by humans for exploring such questions was the scientific method, a robust and self-correcting search for the truth. Yet it had become obvious to her since about the age of twelve that science as it had progressed so far – physics, chemistry, biology, all the rest – had only inched towards grappling with the true questions, the fundamentals. Those questions had only been addressed by theologians and philosophers, it seemed to her. Unfortunately, their answers were a mush of doubt, self-delusion and flummery that had probably done more harm than good. And yet that was all there was. ~ Terry Pratchett
Belliard Technique quotes by Terry Pratchett
The Two Towers especially, and the first part of The Return of the King, have a structure reminiscent on a large scale of 'The Council of Elrond' on a small one. The word that describes the structure is 'interlace'. Tolkien certainly knew the word, for it has become a commonplace of Beowulf-criticism, but he may not have liked it much: it is associated also with the structure of French prose romance, in which he took little interest. However, Tolkien certainly also knew that the Icelandic word for a short story is a Þáttr, literally a thread. One could say that several Þaettir, or threads, twisted round each other, make up a saga; and Gandalf comes close to saying something like that when he says to Théoden, 'There are children in your land who, out of the twisted threads of story, could pick the answer to your question' (my emphasis). Tolkien may have felt that there had been all along a native version of the French technique of entrelacement, even if we no longer know the native word for it. But word, or no word, he was going to do it. ~ Tom Shippey
Belliard Technique quotes by Tom Shippey
I think maybe one reason why ventriloquists are looked down on is because it's very difficult to be funny. I think what happens is that people get a dummy, they learn the technique of ventriloquism, they memorize the script, they think they're in show business. ~ Jeff Dunham
Belliard Technique quotes by Jeff Dunham
We mythologists know very well that myths and legends contain borrowings, moral lessons, nature cycles, and a hundred other distorting influences, and we labor to cut them away and get to what might be a kernel of truth. In fact, these same techniques must be applied to the most sober histories, for no one writes the clear and apparent truth - if such a thing can even be said to exist. ~ Isaac Asimov
Belliard Technique quotes by Isaac Asimov
Darwinism was the animalization of Cultureman by means of biology; the human soul was interpreted as a mere superior technique of fighting with other animals. We come now to Marxism, the animalization of man through economics, the human soul as a mere reflex of food, clothing and shelter. ~ Francis Parker Yockey
Belliard Technique quotes by Francis Parker Yockey
Universities are fantastic places to gain knowledge on a subject, develop a personal network, explore your character and learn new techniques to approach problems. I do however believe that there is a strong argument for students who have an idea they are passionate about to just try and turn it into a reality. I fell into this category and I don't regret not going to University. ~ Richard Branson
Belliard Technique quotes by Richard Branson
Find your own technique. ~ John French Sloan
Belliard Technique quotes by John French Sloan
You become someone else when you meditate. It isn't just a little technique. If you really pursue it, you change radically - you evolve. ~ Frederick Lenz
Belliard Technique quotes by Frederick Lenz
I like my first lines short and declarative. No complicated sentences. Of course, that's not really a Scott thing. It's pretty classic grab-the-reader technique. ~ Scott Westerfeld
Belliard Technique quotes by Scott Westerfeld
A dancer isn't great because of their technique ... they're great because of their passion. ~ Martha Graham
Belliard Technique quotes by Martha Graham
Intelligent investment is more a matter of mental approach than it is of technique. A sound mental approach toward stock fluctuations is the touchstone of all successful investment under present-day conditions. ~ Benjamin Graham
Belliard Technique quotes by Benjamin Graham
Oh no," she breathed. "Not the Highwoods." She called after the coach as it rumbled off into the distance. "Mrs. Highwood, wait! Come back. I can explain everything. Don't leave!"
"They seem to have already left."
She turned on Bram, flashing him an angry blue glare. The force of it pushed against his sternum. Not nearly sufficient to move him, but enough to leave an impression.
"I do hope you're happy, sir. If tormenting innocent sheep and blowing ruts in our road weren't enough mischief for you today, you've ruined a young woman's future."
"Ruined?" Bram wasn't in the habit of ruining young ladies-that was his cousin's specialty-but if he ever decided to take up the sport, he'd employ a different technique. He edged closer, lowering his voice. "Really, it was just a little kiss. Or is this about your frock?"
His gaze dipped. Her frock had caught the worst of their encounter. Grass and dirt streaked the yards of shell-pink muslin. A torn flounce drooped to the ground, limp as a forgotten handkerchief. Her neckline had likewise strayed. He wondered if she knew her left breast was one exhortation away from popping free of her bodice altogether. He wondered if he should stop staring at it.
No, he decided. He would do her a favor by staring at it, calling her attention to what needed to be repaired. Indeed. Staring at her half-exposed, emotion-flushed breast was his solemn duty, and Bram was never one to shirk responsibility.
"Ahem." She crosse ~ Tessa Dare
Belliard Technique quotes by Tessa Dare
Makeup is my world, and I know that a little things ... the right technique, colour or brush ... can make all the difference, ~ Rae Morris
Belliard Technique quotes by Rae Morris
Meditation is a technique to integrate one's personality, to be able to live and enjoy full life of all glories - worldly and divine. ~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Belliard Technique quotes by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
Exercise is the technique by which one imposes on the body tasks that are both repetitive and different, but always graduated. By bending behavior towards a terminal state, exercise makes possible a perpetual characterization of the individual ... It thus assures, in the form of continuity and constraint, a growth, an observation, a qualification. ~ Michel Foucault
Belliard Technique quotes by Michel Foucault
Instead of relying on technique she looked for cues that were individual to the man - her man - the quickening of his breath, a sighing moan and the grip of his fingertips on her hip. Her body listened to his and learned what was right instead of what her experience said should work. And in its place they became a dreamy roll of fluid exploration. ~ Taryn Elliott
Belliard Technique quotes by Taryn Elliott
As a general rule, man strives to avoid labor. Love for work is not at all an inborn characteristic: it is created by economic pressure and social education. One may even say that man is a fairly lazy animal. It is on this quality, in reality, that is founded to a considerable extent all human progress; because if man did not strive to expend his energy economically, did not seek to receive the largest possible quantity of products in return for a small quantity of energy, there would have been no technical development or social culture. ~ Leon Trotsky
Belliard Technique quotes by Leon Trotsky
When you're acting, it's all about you and the person in front of you, and I think in life we forget to apply the same technique, and we get caught up in the panic of what we're trying to do - how overwhelmingly daunting the task of trying to become an actor is. ~ Mike Colter
Belliard Technique quotes by Mike Colter
But when I sat listening with the other Aikido students and teachers on the mat at the Kumano Juku Dojo, all of us dripping with sweat and focused intently on the practice of Aikido in the here and now, the Floating Bridge of Heaven did not feel like an abstract reference to a story of the past. It was a vivid invitation to venture into the world of the spirit, and to integrate that sacred spirit of creativity into all of our actions. It was a compelling reminder that to O-Sensei, and by extension to all sincere students of his art, Aikido was far more than physical technique. ~ Linda Holiday
Belliard Technique quotes by Linda Holiday
You can admire people for sure, and they're worth admiring, but you need to find that special thing about yourself. It takes working hard, getting the technique, and learning to sing and all that stuff, but the master class is about bringing yourself to the role. ~ Susan Egan
Belliard Technique quotes by Susan Egan
Technique is just a means of arriving at a statement. ~ Jackson Pollock
Belliard Technique quotes by Jackson Pollock
Training fighters is like trying to catch a fish. It's technique, not strength. ~ Angelo Dundee
Belliard Technique quotes by Angelo Dundee
They [say] everybody's creative. Well, everybody is. But any real creativity has to rest on a basis of an acquired technique and an acquired knowledge; you can't be creative in a void, or you just get a mess. ~ Robertson Davies
Belliard Technique quotes by Robertson Davies
A woman with super long platinum blonde hair, a fake tan, injected bubble gum pink lips, and a large boob job came in. Phoebe showed her where to set up in front of us and we all sat patiently.
"Hello, I'm Tandy" I almost rolled my eyes at her name, given her appearance. She placed a case on the coffee table in front of us, opened it, and pulled out rubber penises. I almost shot my drink out of my nose, again. "I will be instructing you on proper blow job technique."
"Oh my God, Phoebe." I shouted at her.
"Yeah," Viola clapped her hands and reached out to be the first to get a rubber practice penis. ~ Sadie Grubor
Belliard Technique quotes by Sadie Grubor
No one has direct access to your mind like you do. That's why introspection remains a valid technique even after the invention of brain scanners. ~ Christian Jarrett
Belliard Technique quotes by Christian Jarrett
Outsourcing IT solutions has been a company technique since many decades. If you are too an overseas customer then this content can help in studying the advantages of outsourcing web growth solutions. ~ Harry Verma
Belliard Technique quotes by Harry Verma
I thought cryptography was a technique that did not require your trusting other people-that if you encrypted your files, you would have the control to make the choice as to whether you would surrender your files. ~ Whitfield Diffie
Belliard Technique quotes by Whitfield Diffie
I show people the techniques for gaining knowledge, and this inspires them in their search for truth, freedom and happiness. I also try to show people that truth exists as much in this world as it does in any other world. ~ Frederick Lenz
Belliard Technique quotes by Frederick Lenz
Do not place hope in finding a secret technique. Polish the mind through ceaseless training; that is the key to effective techniques. ~ Kyuzo Mifune
