Don't undermine the mirror that always shows you how good or the otherwise you look for any necessary correction! You may dearly miss its real essence the day it will break and you shall step out only for people to show you the little fault in your appearance that will give you something to ponder over and over! ~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Something To Ponder quotes by Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
There is little chance that aliens from two societies anywhere in the Galaxy will be culturally close enough to really 'get along.' This is something to ponder as you watch the famous cantina scene in Star Wars ... Does this make sense, given the overwhelmingly likely situation that galactic civilizations differ in their level of evolutionary development by thousands or millions of years? Would you share drinks with a trilobite, an ourang-outang, or a saber-toothed tiger? Or would you just arrange to have a few specimens stuffed and carted off to the local museum? ~ Seth Shostak
Something To Ponder quotes by Seth Shostak
Ive seen the meanness of humans till I dont know why God aint put out the sun and gone away. ~ Cormac McCarthy
Something To Ponder quotes by Cormac McCarthy
Was Chris a man?"
Now, there was something to ponder. Was he? He'd been strong and brave, and not stubborn. He'd killed other men, he'd saved other men's lives.
He kissed other men. And he'd cried and cried.
I closed my eyes. But then the dog said, "What makes a man not a man?"
Eyes open, I said, "Kissing another man."
"Why?"
"Why?"
"Yeah. Is there something unkissable about a man?"
I smirked at the black and white furry face. "No, stupid. Women kiss men."
"Was Chris a man? ~ Robin Reardon
Something To Ponder quotes by Robin Reardon
I'M SORRY

I am developing a new board game. It's called "I'm Sorry." It's also a form of "Self-Help Psychological Therapy!"

You take turns moving around the board like Monopoly. But if you land on a Yellow or Green "I'm Sorry Space"… you have to make a Phone call. Both green and yellow cards are labeled- the same with things like: Your Ex, Parental figure, friend, co-worker, boss, children, etc. You get the point…

If you land on the yellow space, the game stops, everyone gets quiet and you have to call that person up – on speakerphone. You apologize for something you've done in your past. Come on you know you are not perfect and you probably screwed up, hurt or disappointed everyone in your past at one time or another. So you call and you apologize. You explain what you did to them wrong if they forgive you, you move forward 10 places and everyone cheers! No forgiveness back- you move back to the beginning.

If you land on the green space- it's similar. But you call the person up and you try to explain to them how, in someway, they hurt you in the past. If they apologize… cheers and you move forward 10 spaces. No apology… move backward ten spaces. They curse at you- game over.

In the original packaging of the yellow and green cards, are mixed in a set of "I'm Sorry Cards." If you are lucky enough to get to pick up an "I'm Sorry Card," it's like a Get Out of Jail Free Card, and you don't have to make the call.

Something To Ponder quotes by Jose N Harris
I have to write because if I don't get something down then after a while I feel it's going to bang the side of my head off. ~ Terry Pratchett
Something To Ponder quotes by Terry Pratchett
Why do we writers write? Is it because we have something to say, or is it because we just do? I write because I can, because I just do, and because I am a writer, and so I write.
~ Lloyd E. Scott
Something To Ponder quotes by Lloyd E. Scott
I want you both to remember this moment forever. How it feels. The two of you. Hand in hand. Fighting against something you think is trying to tear you apart. ~ Jillian Dodd
Something To Ponder quotes by Jillian Dodd
I think the way I approach things has something to do with growing up and seeing my parents go to work every day. ~ Kristen Stewart
Something To Ponder quotes by Kristen Stewart
Spine bones as lucky charms."
"Vertebrae," I say.
"What?"
"The spine bones," I reply, my eyes still on the creature. "They're called vertebrae."
"Thank you, but that's not what I'm concerned about right now."
"If you're going to say something, at least say it right. ~ Mackenzi Lee
Something To Ponder quotes by Mackenzi Lee
Jesus may give you eternal life, but until then, your ass going to stay right were it is until you do something about it. ~ Bryant McGill
Something To Ponder quotes by Bryant McGill
I define me. No event or person does this. I define me. I decide who I am and how I'm going to behave, and I choose to be better. To look more carefully, to trudge deeper. To think about other people's past and not judge someone for doing or handling something differently than I would. To understand my limitations, my shortcomings - that is my growth edge. ~ Chelsea Handler
Something To Ponder quotes by Chelsea Handler
The Puritan, of course, is not entirely devoid of aesthetic feeling. He has a taste for good form; he responds to style; he is even capable of something approaching a purely aesthetic emotion. But he fears this aesthetic emotion as an insinuating distraction from his chief business in life: the sober consideration of the all-important problem of conduct. Art is a temptation, a seduction, a Lorelei, and the Good Man may safely have traffic with it when it is broken to moral uses
in other words, when its innocence is pumped out of it, and it is purged of gusto. ~ H.L. Mencken
Something To Ponder quotes by H.L. Mencken
I just work out hard enough that, if I'm craving something, I eat it and know I'm going to burn it off the next day with extra intensity. ~ Karl Malone
Something To Ponder quotes by Karl Malone
The year was 1996, and the date was July 5. It was a Friday night and I had just turned 21 two days prior, which, by the way, was a miracle unto itself. Due to the violent life I was living, this was a milestone and something worth celebrating. But on this beautiful summer evening, I was not in a celebratory mood. Rather, I was in a predatory mood and that was what I was doing: lying and waiting for my prey to arrive. ~ Drexel Deal
Something To Ponder quotes by Drexel Deal
Danny was unfazed at the size of the large-stomached man, with hairy arms waving about like a pizza chef, all violent gestures and shouting. His crude, pinch-faced wife spat salivated swear words at him. She was in her thirties and behaving like a grounded teenager, screaming at him to leave her property.
"One hundred thousand pesetas please." Danny took a bony, female fist to his cheek, jarring him. He shook it off.
"Two hundred thousand now."
She jabbed at him again, as her fist poked towards his nose, he head-butted it. She recoiled in pain gasping and nursing her hand. The husband, a chubby, but solid Valencian, went ape-shit and lobbed a hairy, dimpled fist at him, causing Danny to shift on his feet. He pulled his head out of the way with the skill of a middleweight. The man drew his fist from three o'clock and blasted scarred knuckles towards his face again. Danny's reaction was lightning; he caught the fist and held firm, flipped down the hood, his face showing something new. The man recoiled, recognising grim determination and knew this man would never give up. ~ Mark Shearman
Something To Ponder quotes by Mark Shearman
When I wrote my first film and then directed it and I looked at it for the first time on what's called an assembly, you look at this movie which is every scene you wrote, every line of dialogue you wrote and you want to kill yourself the minute you see it. It's like, 'How did I write something so horrible?' ~ Bruce Joel Rubin
Something To Ponder quotes by Bruce Joel Rubin
Then science came along and taught us that we are not the measure of all things, that there are wonders unimagined, that the Universe is not obliged to conform to what we consider comfortable or plausible. We have learned something about the idiosyncratic nature of our common sense. Science has carried human self-consciousness to a higher level. This is surely a rite of passage, a step towards maturity. ~ Carl Sagan
Something To Ponder quotes by Carl Sagan
In 1995, each cast at The Second City was made up of four men and two women. When it was suggested that they switch one of the companies to three men and three women, the producers and directors had the same panicked reaction. 'You can't do that. There won't be enough parts to go around. There won't be enough for the girls.' This made no sense to me, probably because I speak English and have never had a head injury. We weren't doing _Death of a Salesman._ _We were making up the show ourselves. How could there not be enough parts?_ If everyone had something to contribute, there would be enough. The insulting implication, of course, was that the women wouldn't have any ideas. ~ Tina Fey
Something To Ponder quotes by Tina Fey
Religion is the great balm of existence because it takes us outside ourselves, connects us to something larger ~ Robert Greene
Something To Ponder quotes by Robert Greene
When a person dies, they cross over from the realm of freedom to the realm of slavery. Life is freedom, and dying is a gradual denial of freedom. Consciousness first weakens and then disappears. The life-processes – respiration, the metabolism, the circulation – continue for some time, but an irrevocable move has been made towards slavery; consciousness, the flame of freedom, has died out.
The stars have disappeared from the night sky; the Milky Way has vanished; the sun has gone out; Venus, Mars and Jupiter have been extinguished; millions of leaves have died; the wind and the oceans have faded away; flowers have lost their colour and fragrance; bread has vanished; water has vanished; even the air itself, the sometimes cool, sometimes sultry air, has vanished. The universe inside a person has ceased to exist. This universe is astonishingly similar to the universe that exists outside people. It is astonishingly similar to the universes still reflected within the skulls of millions of living people. But still more astonishing is the fact that this universe had something in it that distinguished the sound of its ocean, the smell of its flowers, the rustle of its leaves, the hues of its granite and the sadness of its autumn fields both from those of every other universe that exists and ever has existed within people, and from those of the universe that exists eternally outside people. What constitutes the freedom, the soul of an individual life, is its uniqueness. The refle ~ Vasily Grossman
Something To Ponder quotes by Vasily Grossman
You can only do three things with your money. You can spend it. You can invest it. Or you can give it away. And if you invest it, you're really just getting more money to give away or buy something. How many things can you buy? So I don't really think there's a lot of choices. ~ David Rubenstein
Something To Ponder quotes by David Rubenstein
If you're really going to uncover something as an artist, you're going to come into access with parts of your personality and your psyche that are really uncomfortable to face: your own ambition, your own greed, your own avarice, your own jealousies, and anything that would get in the way of the purity of your own artistic voice. ~ Billy Corgan
Something To Ponder quotes by Billy Corgan
When we see ourselves in a relationship of love with God, there is always something of a lover's dilemma, a struggle to give and receive, to trust and obey the call. ~ Henri J.M. Nouwen
Something To Ponder quotes by Henri J.M. Nouwen
But was that what love was supposed to be? Pain? Madness? Or was love something... that motivated a person to be selfless and even self-sacrificing. ~ Fiona Paul
Something To Ponder quotes by Fiona Paul
I've always zoomed through life in a vain attempt to keep up with my sprinting brain. If I have to choose between doing something quickly and doing it right, I often select the speedier option. ~ Megan McCafferty
Something To Ponder quotes by Megan McCafferty
I don't want to see anyone. I lie in the bedroom with the curtains drawn and nothingness washing over me like a sluggish wave. Whatever is happening to me is my own fault. I have done something wrong, something so huge I can't even see it, something that's drowning me. I am inadequate and stupid, without worth. I might as well be dead. ~ Margaret Atwood
Something To Ponder quotes by Margaret Atwood
I was just reaching for my towel when I heard a muffled thump from my bedroom. My fingers froze and the hair on the back of my neck prickled. In scary movies, this was always the part where the naked girl called out, "Hello?" or "Who's there?" or something equally stupid. But this naked girl wasn't announcing her presence to anyone. ~ Rachel Hawkins
Something To Ponder quotes by Rachel Hawkins
How do you know you're going to do something, untill you do it? ~ J.D. Salinger
Something To Ponder quotes by J.D. Salinger
Mere grimness is as easy as grinning; but it requires something to put a handsome face on a story. Narratives become of suspicious merit in proportion as they lean to Newgate-like offenses, particularly of blood and wounds ... ~ Leigh Hunt
Something To Ponder quotes by Leigh Hunt
He got into the van and opened the window to wave, and then, as it revved up and pulled away, his lips touched the palm of his hand and he blew me a kiss, something he hasn't done since he was a child. It was as if on the edge of manhood he, too, remembered everything we had shared, that he was the man who was still, in his heart, my little boy, late for school. ~ Jennifer Ryan
Something To Ponder quotes by Jennifer Ryan
So I realized when I was successful in a piece, it was because I didn't abandon a notion early on what it ought to be, and I let it take me along. So I've had songs that started out as being about the environment and ended up being love songs and love songs that ended up being about the environment. I've had things that I thought would be a poem and realized that it was just too big for that. I've got to do something larger and it became a play. I wrote one poem that started a whole play. ~ Andy Wilkinson
Something To Ponder quotes by Andy Wilkinson
Something I'm not ready to name works itself under the grip of Charlies death and loosens it, and keeps the nightmare at bay when I fall back asleep. ~ Trish Doller
Something To Ponder quotes by Trish Doller
We believe that this human life is a great gift, that every part of it is designed by God and therefore means something, that every part of it is blessed by God and therefore to be enjoyed, that every part is accompanied by God and therefore workable. ~ Eugene H. Peterson
Something To Ponder quotes by Eugene H. Peterson
The easiest thing to do with something that was bothering you was always to make fun of it. ~ Michael Northrop
Something To Ponder quotes by Michael Northrop
Violence is used to portray what happens in a film. It only helps portray the actors and what they do. I think it is more about the story, when you have something to play off of. ~ Jake Lloyd
Something To Ponder quotes by Jake Lloyd
If you want to understand the nature of something, to find out the truth, that is one thing. If you want to play semantics, make up wild thought 'experiments', that is another thing. I am not so interested in the latter, though I do appreciate that it can be fun, however unproductive. ~ Patricia Churchland
Something To Ponder quotes by Patricia Churchland
There was a drop of human blood in her, and in her father ... it brought both of them visions at times, living dreams of the world beyond the wood. Her father had learned to ignore them, for they meant nothing to him. She, still learning words for her own world, did not make such distinctions: Everything was new, everything spoke to her and had a name; she had not yet learned that something could mean nothing. ~ Patricia A. McKillip
Something To Ponder quotes by Patricia A. McKillip
Most people's personalities and roles are locked by the time they're nine or 10. I think there's something to that. ~ Don Hertzfeldt
Something To Ponder quotes by Don Hertzfeldt
The majority of people who claim to be overworked work less than they think they do, and many of the ways people work are extraordinarily inefficient. Calling something "work" does not make it important or necessary. ~ Laura Vanderkam
Something To Ponder quotes by Laura Vanderkam
We are to think about, ponder, and park our minds on constructive thoughts, not destructive thoughts. ~ Lysa TerKeurst
Something To Ponder quotes by Lysa TerKeurst
Our truest nature to fully connect, heal, and grow is to be mirrored by something that reflects our full essence. I believe the natural world is that ideal mirror. ~ Regina M. Powers
Something To Ponder quotes by Regina M. Powers
I have an historical, a cultural, and a moral obligation to give back something to my country. So I became a teacher. ~ Vartan Gregorian
Something To Ponder quotes by Vartan Gregorian
The human brain runs first-class simulation software. Our eyes don't present to our brains a faithful photograph of what is out there, or an accurate movie of what is going on through time. Our brains construct a continuously updated model: updated by coded pulses chattering along the optic nerve, but constructed nevertheless. Optical illusions are vivid reminders of this.47 A major class of illusions, of which the Necker Cube is an example, arise because the sense data that the brain receives are compatible with two alternative models of reality. The brain, having no basis for choosing between them, alternates, and we experience a series of flips from one internal model to the other. The picture we are looking at appears, almost literally, to flip over and become something else. ~ Richard Dawkins
Something To Ponder quotes by Richard Dawkins
Every single person, pretty much, is taught what they're supposed to do: go to school, get a job, find someone to love, get married, have kids, raise the kids, and then die. Nobody questions that. What if you want to do something different? ~ Aziz Ansari
Something To Ponder quotes by Aziz Ansari
We must be doing something to be happy. ~ William Hazlitt
Something To Ponder quotes by William Hazlitt
The idleness of a passenger, my isolation amongst all these men with whom I had no point of contact, the oily and languid sea, the uniform sombreness of the coast, seemed to keep me away from the truth of these things, within the toil of a mournful and senseless delusion. The voice of the surf now and then was a positive pleasure, like the speech of a brother. It was something natural, that had its reason, that had a meaning. ~ Joseph Conrad
Something To Ponder quotes by Joseph Conrad
A brick is a lot like love. I mean, I'm sure it is. It simply must be. However, I can't think of how at the moment, but that's natural, because I'm not Cupid. OK, here's something: A brick has six sides, and love - wait, no, love only has five sides. Damn! A brick is red, and love - is transparent (visually it's invisible, and truthfully it's transparent). So color is out, shape is out - which leaves sound. A brick is silent, while love sounds like the hum of an electric generator. After a while, you may not hear it and you think it's silent, but that's only because you're acclimated to it and have tuned it out. ~ Jarod Kintz
Something To Ponder quotes by Jarod Kintz
I'm not a church kind of person, not when it comes to praying. To be honest, for me it never gets much past hoping. But I know this, and I want to say it. And I really hope someone will listen. There is a point. I don't know what it is, but everything I've had, and everything I've lost, and everything I felt - it meant something. Maybe there isn't a meaning to life. Maybe there's only a meaning to living. ~ Kami Garcia
