This poem is very long
So long, in fact, that your attention span
May be stretched to its very limits
But that's okay
It's what's so special about poetry
See, poetry takes time
We live in a time
Call it our culture or society
It doesn't matter to me cause neither one rhymes
A time where most people don't want to listen
Our throats wait like matchsticks waiting to catch fire
Waiting until we can speak
No patience to listen

But this poem is long
It's so long, in fact, that during the time of this poem
You could've done any number of other wonderful things
You could've called your father
Call your father
You could be writing a postcard right now
Write a postcard
When was the last time you wrote a postcard?
You could be outside
You're probably not too far away from a sunrise or a sunset
Watch the sun rise
Maybe you could've written your own poem
A better poem
You could have played a tune or sung a song
You could have met your neighbor
And memorized their name
Memorize the name of your neighbor
You could've drawn a picture
(Or, at least, colored one in)
You could've started a book
Or finished a prayer
You could've talked to God
Pray
When was the last time you prayed?
Really prayed?

This is a long poem
So long, in fact, that you've already spent a minute with it
When was th ~ Colleen Hoover
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Colleen Hoover
During this very, very long poem
You could have connected
Maybe you are connecting
Maybe we're connecting
See, I believe that the only things that really matter
In the grand scheme of life are God and people
And if people are made in the image of God
Then when you spend your time with people
It's never wasted

- A Very Long Poem, by Marty Schoenleber III ~ Colleen Hoover
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Colleen Hoover
Love is the body's warmth; sex, its heat. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
the regional governments can't raise taxes. The source of revenue would simply leave for another region. In fact, the effect of decentralization without guaranteed funding and national or multinational standards is a competition between regions for the lowest possible tax rates.
(III - From Corporatism to Democracy) ~ John Ralston Saul
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by John Ralston Saul
No attachment is so important one can't be happy without it. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Keep your eyes open and you'll see more than you ever dreamed of. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
The truest philosophy contains the most contradictions. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
To ABSTERSE (ABSTE'RSE) [See ABSTERGE.]To cleanse, to purify; a word very little in use, and less analogical than absterge. Nor will we affirm, that iron receiveth, in the stomach of the ostrich, no alteration; but we suspect this effect rather from corrosion than digestion; not any tendence to chilification by the natural heat, but rather some attrition from an acid and vitriolous humidity in the stomach, which may absterse and shave the scorious parts thereof.Brown'sVulgar Errours,b. iii. ~ Samuel Johnson
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Samuel Johnson
The rush of creating sounds and mixing sounds is always an interesting challenge, especially for someone like me, who doesn't know about sound. ~ Hank Williams III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Hank Williams III
I think there are [gay players] right now, and if they're looking for a window to just come out, I mean, now is the window. My view on it is, yes, I am a Christian, but to each his own. You do what you want to do. ~ Robert Griffin III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Robert Griffin III
The struggle against injustice is just another kind of injustice. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
The unsaid rules every conversation. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
No burden is heavier to bear than the burden of a false idea. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Truth is what's left when you run out of excuses. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
I'd rather love the same woman for a hundred years than sleep with someone new every night. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
To dance sublimely, one must forget one knows how to dance. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Nothing is sadder than seeing good love turn bad. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Everyone's truth is their own life. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
A clean house is a sad house. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
It seems that there is nothing more frustrating than good humor and fair play for the embittered ideologue who is willing to distort the truth in the name of his mission to serve mankind. ~ George Charles Roche-III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by George Charles Roche-III
If Nero had played a better fiddle, Rome might never have burned. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
This vice brings in one hundred million francs in taxes every year. I will certainly forbid it at once - as soon as you can name a virtue that brings in as much revenue. ~ Napoleon III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Napoleon III
Not only do we cheat ourselves and those around us if we are only glum or always wary when it comes time to respond to divine stirrings. No, we are then also being simply unfaithful to the surrounding reality. The one who purges gloom has given occasions and reasons, in the midst of life's sadness, to be joyful. ~ Martin E. Marty
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Martin E. Marty
The temptation is always there: to punish oneself. To make oneself miserable. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Have learned in life, there will always be some things that we really want but they are just not ever going to surface in our life. We have to take a bow and keep it moving because you never know the reason why it was not put there. It could simply be because there is something better just waiting. Never chase after people or things, unless it is a common effort. Patience is a virtue, wasted time is a something you will never get back. - AHCIII ~ A.H. Carlisle III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by A.H. Carlisle III
Like Puck I like it best when things turn out preposterously. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
True leaders are ladder builders; they're not ladder climbers. The ladder builder is always saying, "What can I do to help you? How would I make you successful? If you make your team successful, your team's going to make you successful"
- David L. Brewer III ~ John Hope Bryant
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by John Hope Bryant
Every drop of dew before it fades must feel itself immortal. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
No longer a mark of distinction or proof of achievement, a college education is these days a mere rite of passage, a capstone to adolescent party time. ~ William A. Henry III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by William A. Henry III
It is disingenuous to imply that my father was a Republican. He never endorsed any presidential candidate, and there is certainly no evidence that he ever even voted for a Republican. It is even more outrageous to suggest that he would support the Republican Party of today, which has spent so much time and effort trying to suppress African American votes in Florida and many other states. ~ Martin Luther King III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Martin Luther King III
III
But may I, when alone again I have the city's crush
and tangled noise-skein and the furor
of its traffic all around me,
may I above the mindless swirl
recall sky and the gentle mountain rim
on which the far-off herd curved homeward.
May my spirit be hard as rock
and the shepherd's life to me seem possible-
the way he drifts and turns brown in the sun and with a practiced
stone-throw mends his flock, whenever it frays.
Steps slow, not light, his body pensive,
but in his standing there, majestic. Even now a god
might enter this form and not be lessened.
He lingers for a while, then moves on, like the day itself,
and shadows of the clouds
pass through him, as though space were slowly
thinking thoughts for him. ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Rainer Maria Rilke
Everyone who does not agree with me is a traitor and a scoundrel. ~ George III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by George III
Love is being comfortable together. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Advanced civilization: one without advanced technology. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Hey!" Marty protested. "I have the best gaydar around."
"Except when you're wrong. Like that construction worker?"
"I'm not wrong just because they won't admit it. ~ Kaje Harper
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Kaje Harper
The wrought-iron gate squeaked as Lucas opened it. He lowered the rented bike down the stone steps and onto the sidewalk. To his right was the most famous Globe Hotel in Paris, disguised under another name. In front of the entrance five Curukians sat on mopeds. Lu-cas and his eighteen-month-old friend then shot out across the street and through the invisible beam of an-other security camera.
He rode diagonally across the place de la Concorde and headed toward the river. It seemed only natural. The motorcycles trailed him. He pedaled fast across the Alex-andre III bridge and zipped past Les Invalides hospital. He tried to turn left at the Rodin Museum, but Goper rode next to him, blocking his escape. ~ Paul Aertker
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Paul Aertker
Trust the one with experience not the one with ideas. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Between self-interest and the truth, most people will invariably choose self-interest. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
Here's what I've learned: there's more than one way to live. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin

Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Carlton Mellick III
I think Ewen Bremner is incredible. ~ Brendan Sexton III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Brendan Sexton III

Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Benigno Aquino III
The exegetical foundations would appear to be weak, and one shouldn't build huge theological edifices, no matter how splendid or consistent, on weak foundations. ~ Ben Witherington III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Ben Witherington III
Most of our cares are imaginary. We think them into existence. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
I'd be a teacher if there was something to teach. I'd be a student if there was something to learn. ~ Marty Rubin
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Marty Rubin
The ocean to my right was maroon, the sky above it silver. There were sand trails through the thick purple ice plant that grew along the roadside ... but now the sky is the color of peaches ...
It was a ball of bright saffron sinking into the sea, turning the water purple, the sky orange and green. ~ Andre Dubus III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Andre Dubus III
The first lesson of evolution was one of conflict. The lesson now is one of kinship. ~ Holmes Rolston III
Marty Schoenleber Iii quotes by Holmes Rolston III
