Happiness springs up from within. Do not seek it without. ~ Ogwo David Emenike
Happy Consequences quotes by Ogwo David Emenike
I'm not very happy idle. ~ Harlan Coben
Happy Consequences quotes by Harlan Coben
If I were the Devil . . . I mean, if I were the Prince of Darkness, I would of course, want to engulf the whole earth in darkness. I would have a third of its real estate and four-fifths of its population, but I would not be happy until I had seized the ripest apple on the tree, so I should set about however necessary to take over the United States. I would begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: "Do as you please." "Do as you please." To the young, I would whisper, "The Bible is a myth." I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good, and what is good is "square". In the ears of the young marrieds, I would whisper that work is debasing, that cocktail parties are good for you. I would caution them not to be extreme in religion, in patriotism, in moral conduct. And the old, I would teach to pray. I would teach them to say after me: "Our Father, which art in Washington" . . .

If I were the devil, I'd educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull an uninteresting. I'd threaten T.V. with dirtier movies and vice versa. And then, if I were the devil, I'd get organized. I'd infiltrate unions and urge more loafing and less work, because idle hands usually work for me. I'd peddle narcotics to whom I could. I'd sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. And I'd tranquilize the ~ Paul Harvey
Happy Consequences quotes by Paul Harvey
Muriel seeks happiness and beauty. Dan informs her that life is a balance between the two, between suffering and laughter, beauty and ugliness. 'There is no such thing as happiness. Life bends joy and pain, beauty and ugliness, in such a way that no one may isolate them. No one should want to. Perfect joy, or perfect pain, with no contrasting element to define them, would mean a monotony of consciousness, would mean death. Not happy, Muriel. Say that you have tried to make them CREATE. ~ Jean Toomer
Happy Consequences quotes by Jean Toomer
There is no Thanksgiving back in the old country where I come from. You know why? Because being thankful is a sin. ~ Craig Ferguson
Happy Consequences quotes by Craig Ferguson
The ultimate profit from all of my businesses is to be happy and to make all of the customers happy. ~ Debasish Mridha
Happy Consequences quotes by Debasish Mridha
his family was happy when he was happy, and so his only obligation to them was to be happy, to live exactly the life he wanted, on the terms he wanted. ~ Hanya Yanagihara
Happy Consequences quotes by Hanya Yanagihara
This wasn't supposed to happen
I was happy by myself
Accidentally you seduced me
I'm in love again

I lie in my bed, totally still
My eyes wide open, I'm in rapture
I don't believe this, I'm in love again!

This wasn't supposed to happen
I've been hit with your charm
How could you do this to me?
I'm in love again

You've put a seed inside me
And while you're away
It's growing silently
Starts in my stomach
Embraces my insides
And about to reach my heart

This wasn't supposed to happen
I'm in love ~ The Sugar Cubes
Happy Consequences quotes by The Sugar Cubes
May dawn, as the proverb goes, bring happy tidings coming from her mother night. ~ Aeschylus
Happy Consequences quotes by Aeschylus
The Grum's Ledger is a tale of regret. In real life, there was no happy ending. Alexander Grum died alone because he was afraid to seize love and risk and all the unknowns that go with it. He chose certainty- and it was his ruin. ~ Jon Cohen
Happy Consequences quotes by Jon Cohen
I love the spirit of Halloween and the energy that comes with it. ~ Katharine McPhee
Happy Consequences quotes by Katharine McPhee
Ren took his time perusing the menu and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying himself. I didn't even pick my menu up. He shot me meaningful glances while I sat silently, trying to avoid making eye contact. When she came back, she spoke to him briefly and gestured to me.
I smiled, and in a syrupy sweet voice, said, "I'll have whatever will get me out of here the fastest. Like a salad, maybe."
Ren smiled benignly back at me and rattled off what sounded like a banquet of choices, which the waitress was more than happy to take her time writing down. She kept touching him and laughing with him too. Which I found very, very annoying.
When she left, he leaned back in his chair and sipped his water.
I broke the silence first and hissed at him quietly, "I don't know what you're playing at, but you only have about two minutes left, so I hope you ordered the steak tartar, Tiger."
He grinned mischievously. "We'll see, Kells. We'll see."
"Fine. No skin off my nose. I can't wait to see what happens when a white tiger runs through this nice establishment creating mayhem and havoc. Perhaps they will lose one of their stars because they put their patrons in danger. Maybe your new waitress girlfriend will run away screaming." I smiled at the thought.
Ren affected shock, "Why, Kelsey! Are you jealous?"
I snorted in a very unladylike way. "No! Of course not."
He grinned. Nervously, I played with my cloth napkin. "I can't believe you convinced Mr. Kadam to ~ Colleen Houck
Happy Consequences quotes by Colleen Houck
I am a spiritual person in an eastern religion kind of way. I learned that happiness for all of us is a switch that you flick in your brain. It doesn't have anything to do with getting a new house, a new car, a new girlfriend, or a new pair of shoes. Our culture is very much about that; we are never happy with what we have today. ~ Tom Ford
Happy Consequences quotes by Tom Ford
An error in the doctrine of God will have inevitable consequences in the sphere of action, of moral behaviour, of the polity of the Church, and of basic culture and social organization. A change in the doctrine of the Trinity in either of these directions cannot help but have political consequences.

Farrell, commenting on Nazianzen's connection between Trinity and Holy Monarchy ~ Joseph P. Farrell
Happy Consequences quotes by Joseph P. Farrell
It was a myth that's often perpetuated at commencement that holds that only hope and promise lie beyond the halls of academe. Don't worry, be happy. Everything is fine. ~ Paul Tsongas
Happy Consequences quotes by Paul Tsongas
She had not made a lot of money, but she had not made a loss, and she had been happy and entertained. That counted for infinitely more than a vigorously healthy balance sheet. In fact, she thought, annual accounts should include an item specifically headed Happiness, alongside expenses and receipts and the like. ~ Alexander McCall Smith
Happy Consequences quotes by Alexander McCall Smith
though few believed any of his tales, he remained very happy to the end of his days, and those were extraordinarily long. ~ J.R.R. Tolkien
Happy Consequences quotes by J.R.R. Tolkien
I like knowing that people live good lives. You know dancers - it's all drama and pain and bad relationships and obsession. I like knowing that your life didn't hurt. It makes me happy. ~ Amy Lane
Happy Consequences quotes by Amy Lane
Know your own happiness. You want nothing but patience- or give it a more fascinating name, call it hope. ~ Jane Austen
Happy Consequences quotes by Jane Austen
The superhero genre speaks to a vast swath of humanity these days, and studios are in the business of constantly renewing their money-printing licenses. I sense we're nearing a saturation point with some of these icons, where it becomes more about the action figures and Happy Meals than it does the mythological heartbeat of the core ideas. ~ Mark Frost
Happy Consequences quotes by Mark Frost
Because there is no such thing as an "almost" mother. Seven bouquets from your seven angels. Happy Mother's Day, Princess. ~ Brittainy C. Cherry
Happy Consequences quotes by Brittainy C. Cherry
Happy the people whose annals are tiresome. ~ Charles De Secondat
Happy Consequences quotes by Charles De Secondat
You are full of potential. You are overflowing with creativity. There's nothing in your heart that you cannot accomplish. ~ Joel Osteen
Happy Consequences quotes by Joel Osteen
Oh yeah, dancing's part of my soul. I enjoy it, it makes people happy, and it makes me happy. ~ John Travolta
Happy Consequences quotes by John Travolta
I would be happy at a piano bar, singing. I just want to home in on being the best singer I can be. ~ Debby Boone
Happy Consequences quotes by Debby Boone
Soon the majority of the world's people will be living in cities. We are now obliged to think of so many people demanding the means of life from the land, to which they will no longer have a practical connection, and of which they will have little knowledge. We are obliged also to think of the consequences of any attempt to meet this demand by large-scale, expensive, petroleum-dependent technological schemes that will ignore local conditions and local needs. ~ Wendell Berry
Happy Consequences quotes by Wendell Berry
There is only one way to be happy, and that is to make somebody else so, and you cannot be happy by going cross lots; you have got to go the regular turnpike road. ~ Robert Green Ingersoll
Happy Consequences quotes by Robert Green Ingersoll
If life is a gift then all that belongs to life is going to be a gift. Happiness, love, meditation - all that is beautiful is going to be a gift from the holy, from the whole. You cannot deserve it in any way and you cannot force existence to make you happy, or to make you loving, or to make you meditative. That very effort is of the ego. That very effort creates misery. That very effort goes against you. That very effort has destroyed you - it is suicidal. ~ Rajneesh
Happy Consequences quotes by Rajneesh
Katie stood alone...
'They think this is so good,' he thought. 'They think it's good- the tree they got for nothing and their father playing up to them and the singing and the way the neighbors are happy. They think they're mighty lucky that they're living and it's Christmas again. They can't see that we live on a dirty street in a dirty house among people who aren't much good. Johnny and the children can't see how pitiful it is that our neighbors have to make happiness out of this filth and dirt. My children must get out of this. They must come to more than Johnnny or me or all thse people around us. But how is this to come about? Reading a page from those books every day and saving pennies in the tin-can bank isn't enough. Money! Would that make it better for them? Yes, it would make it easy. But no, the money wouldn't be enough. McGarrity owns the saloon standing on the corner and he has a lot of money. His wife wears diamond earrings. But her children are not as good and smart as my children. They are mean and greedy towards others...Ah no, it isn't the money alone... That means there must be something bigger than money. Miss Jackson teaches... and she has no money. She works for charity. She lives in a little room there on the top floor. She only has the one dress but she keeps it clean and pressed. Her eyes look straight into yours when you talk to her... She understands about things. She can live in the middle of a dirty neighborhood and be fine and clean like an ~ Betty Smith
Happy Consequences quotes by Betty Smith
Did I ever tell you that I want to wear a big yellow smiley-face mask and then put on the CD version of Bobby McFerrin's 'Don't Worry, Be Happy' and then take a girl and a dog - a collie, a chow, a sharpei, it doesn't really matter - and then hook up this transfusion pump, this IV set, and switch their blood, you know, pump the dog's blood into the hardbody and vice versa, did I ever tell you this? ~ Bret Easton Ellis
Happy Consequences quotes by Bret Easton Ellis
It is the function of parents to see that their children habitually experience the true consequences of their conduct. ~ Herbert Spencer
Happy Consequences quotes by Herbert Spencer
I'd rather be weird and happy than normal and miserable. ~ Susane Colasanti
Happy Consequences quotes by Susane Colasanti
Happy indeed is the naturalist: to him the seasons come round like old friends; to him the birds sing: as he walks along, the flowers stretch out from the hedges, or look up from the ground, and as each year fades away, he looks back on a fresh store of happy memories. ~ John Lubbock
Happy Consequences quotes by John Lubbock
Yes, I was determined to have a happy Christmas' 'Did you?' 'I think so. I don't remember it much, and that's always a good sign, isn't it? ~ Evelyn Waugh
Happy Consequences quotes by Evelyn Waugh
How could a woman who had an abortion not feel guilt or some sense of remorse? How could she justify what she'd done? Whom else could she blame when everyone was telling her it's her choice? Without facing the truth and confessing it, how could she be forgiven Who could she be restored? How could she be free? ~ Francine Rivers
Happy Consequences quotes by Francine Rivers
A businessman is someone who buys at ten and is happy to get out at twelve. The other kind of man buys at ten, sees it rise to eighteen and does nothing. He is waiting for it to get to twenty. The beauty of numbers. When it drops to ten again he waits for it to get back to eighteen. When it drops to two he waits for it to get back to ten. Well, it gets back there. But he has wasted a quarter of his life. And all he's got out of his money is a little mathematical excitement. ~ V.S. Naipaul
Happy Consequences quotes by V.S. Naipaul
The only way to avoid being miserable is not to have enough leisure to wonder whether you are happy or not. ~ George Bernard Shaw
Happy Consequences quotes by George Bernard Shaw
A man is not paid for having a head and hands, but for using them. ~ Elbert Hubbard

Happy Consequences quotes by Josiah Bancroft

Happy Consequences quotes by Lailah Gifty Akita
I have loved your daughter from the first time I saw her. We were young. I had no clue what love was, but over the years she has never left my heart. I know with all that I am, I can make her happy."
The lord chuckled, "I believe so too, son. Now all you have to do is convince my daughter. ~ Julia Mills

Happy Consequences quotes by Andy Griffith
He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life. ~ William Law
Happy Consequences quotes by William Law
Something I constantly notice is that unembarrassed joy has become rarer. Joy today is increasingly saddled with moral and ideological burdens, so to speak. When someone rejoices, he is afraid of offending against solidarity with the many people who suffer. I don't have any right to rejoice, people think, in a world where there is so much misery, so much injustice.

I can understand that. There is a moral attitude at work here. But this attitude is nonetheless wrong. The loss of joy does not make the world better - and, conversely, refusing joy for the sake of suffering does not help those who suffer. The contrary is true. The world needs people who discover the good, who rejoice in it and thereby derive the impetus and courage to do good. Joy, then, does not break with solidarity. When it is the right kind of joy, when it is not egotistic, when it comes from the perception of the good, then it wants to communicate itself, and it gets passed on. In this connection, it always strikes me that in the poor neighborhoods of, say, South America, one sees many more laughing happy people than among us. Obviously, despite all their misery, they still have the perception of the good to which they cling and in which they can find encouragement and strength.

In this sense we have a new need for that primordial trust which ultimately only faith can give. That the world is basically good, that God is there and is good. That it is good to live and to be a human being. T ~ Benedict XVI
