To me, my brand is luxury, it's art, it's women, it's raw, it's urban. ~ Theophilus London
Art Women quotes by Theophilus London
I happen to disagree with the well-entrenched theory that the art of conversation is merely the art of being a good listener. Such advice invites people to be cynical with one another and full of fake; when a conversation becomes a monologue, poked along with tiny cattle-prod questions, it isn't a conversation any more. ~ Barbara Walters
Art Women quotes by Barbara Walters
The women I know are smart, interesting people who aren't just there to service the men's stories, so I don't know why our art continues to do that. ~ Carrie Coon
Art Women quotes by Carrie Coon
I am inspired by life, past experiences, what's to come, women around me, art, colors, paintings, and emotions. ~ Rachel Roy
Art Women quotes by Rachel Roy

Art Women quotes by Evie Shockley
There's a lot of thought in art. People get to talk about important things. There's a lot of sex, you know, in art. There's a lot of naked women and men, and there's intrigue, there's fakery. It's a real microcosm of the larger world. ~ Steve Martin
Art Women quotes by Steve Martin
Loveliest of women! heaven is in thy soul, Beauty and virtue shine forever round thee, Bright'ning each other! thou art all divine! ~ Joseph Addison

Art Women quotes by Louisa May Alcott
Dramatic art in her opinion is knowing how to fill a sweater. ~ Bette Davis
Art Women quotes by Bette Davis
A woman cannot do the thing she ought, which means whatever perfect thing she can, in life, in art, in science, but she fears to let the perfect action take her part and rest there: she must prove what she can do before she does it,
prate of woman's rights, of woman's mission, woman's function, till the men (who are prating, too, on their side) cry, A woman's function plainly is ... to talk. Poor souls, they are very reasonably vexed! ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning
Art Women quotes by Elizabeth Barrett Browning
I probably had some impact, because everyone keeps telling me that I did. I like to feel like I'm coming out with something to try to make room for other young women to make their art. ~ Liz Phair
Art Women quotes by Liz Phair
I've always loved pinup art, and I've always enjoyed drawing women. I think it was a conscious decision that has resulted in me getting almost exclusive work on comics where the main character is female. ~ Adam Hughes
Art Women quotes by Adam Hughes
It wasn't about a women's weight, it was about who they were, if that brightness shone through their eyes and skin and hair. Ricco found beauty in art. Women were a form of art. All shapes and sizes. All body types. ~ Christine Feehan
Art Women quotes by Christine Feehan
To most women art is a form of scandal. ~ F Scott Fitzgerald
Art Women quotes by F Scott Fitzgerald
Men's magazines often feature pictures of naked ladies. Women's magazines also often feature pictures of naked ladies. This is because the female body is a beautiful work of art, while the male body is hairy and lumpy and should not be seen by the light of day. ~ Richard Roeper
Art Women quotes by Richard Roeper
My mom is an art teacher and my dad owns a women's shoe store, so they're not actors by any means. Well, I guess to sell women's shoes, you have to be an actor. ~ James Wolk
Art Women quotes by James Wolk
I think for a long time it seemed like working in an art form and being a feminist meant portraying women in a perfect, angelic light. And there's nothing feminist about that. ~ Rebecca Hall
Art Women quotes by Rebecca Hall

Art Women quotes by Martin Luther
She felt she had been created by the demands of others, by their insatiable appetite for something beyond ordinary life. They craved a world without death and they had spotted her, in their hunger, like wolves alert to any poor sheep that might stray from the fold and stand gazing ignorantly up at the stars. ~ Valerie Martin
Art Women quotes by Valerie Martin
Forgetting is woman's first and greatest art. ~ Richard Aldington
Art Women quotes by Richard Aldington
I believe that all women are like works of art. Like art, women come in different colors, sizes, and forms. And like works of art, every woman is unique, beautiful... and should be appreciated and treasured as such. ~ Tia Fanning
Art Women quotes by Tia Fanning
Women's books are kind of discriminated against. If a man writes a book about his family stories, people think of it as literature. If it's a woman, she's 'spilling her guts,' and it's not art. ~ Erica Jong
Art Women quotes by Erica Jong
Woman is mistress of the art of completely imbittering the life of the person on whom she depends. ~ Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Art Women quotes by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
Oh do not die, for I shall hate All women so, when thou art gone. ~ John Donne
Art Women quotes by John Donne
O woman! woman! thou shouldest have few sins of thine own to answer for! Thou art the author of such a book of follies in a man that it would need the tears of all the angels to blot the record out. ~ Edward Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton
Art Women quotes by Edward Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton
Women developed it as an art. They've had to, in order to survive. The problem is that it limits you. You are in a controlling situation in duality. ~ Frederick Lenz
Art Women quotes by Frederick Lenz
'The Lady's World' should be made the recognized organ for the expression of women's opinions on all subjects of literature, art and modern life, and yet it should be a magazine that men could read with pleasure. ~ Oscar Wilde
Art Women quotes by Oscar Wilde
Fiction is about telling a good story, first and foremost. But of course, everything I'm interested in or angry about leaks into my writing, from art to violence against women. ~ Lauren Beukes

Art Women quotes by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
We do have Museums of African American Art in the United States, and there is a National Museum of Women's Art. However, I believe Latinos are best served by displaying their art next to the art of other groups, particularly North American, European, and even Asian artists. ~ Mari Carmen Ramirez
Art Women quotes by Mari Carmen Ramirez
Woman, thou art a river, deep and wide, Of waters soft and sweet: Alas! I've never reached the other side; Though oft I've wet my feet! ~ William Batchelder Greene
Art Women quotes by William Batchelder Greene
End Of Men is a concoction of sex, outsider art, filmmaking and death including an Italian island ~ C.B. Murphy
Art Women quotes by C.B. Murphy
Men who are offenders of street harassment and women who experience street harassment can walk by and feel something about it, because it's out there in the environment where the harassment actually happens. So it's a lot more powerful than an oil painting that's stuck in a gallery or under my bed or in my studio where only a couple of eyes are going to see it, as opposed to it being in an environment where it could possibly effect a change. ~ Tatyana Fazlalizadeh
Art Women quotes by Tatyana Fazlalizadeh
There are more good women in the world than there are men worthy of them! ~ Margaret Way
Art Women quotes by Margaret Way
I'm making some of the greatest art being made now. It'll take the art world ten years to get around to it. ~ Jeff Koons
Art Women quotes by Jeff Koons
Too many women
in too many countries
speak the same language,
of silence ... ~ Hillary Rodham Clinton
Art Women quotes by Hillary Rodham Clinton
As I very much liked to draw and paint as a child, I entered a special art program in high school, which was very much like being in an art school imbedded in a regular high school curriculum. ~ Jerome Isaac Friedman
Art Women quotes by Jerome Isaac Friedman
They never had a better computer. They never had better lights. They never had better communication apparatus. They never had the finest tools. They never had the best transport system. They never had a perfect comfort. They never had all people loving them and their works. They never had all the financial resources. They never had the best garments. They never had the best and the most of all things. They never had all that they needed but they had ideas. They had a vision. Their hearts were filled with reasons to move. Their minds were pregnant with great thoughts and they wanted to prove what was in them. They took bold steps in wisdom and they were able to do distinctive things with what they had, and they left distinctive marks on minds before they left. ~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Art Women quotes by Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
It's a shame for a woman's history to be all about men-first boys, then other boys, then men, men, men. It reminds me of the way our school history textbooks were all about wars and elections, one war after another, with the dull periods of peace skimmed over when they happened. ~ Elizabeth Kostova
Art Women quotes by Elizabeth Kostova
Art is order, made out of the chaos of life. ~ Saul Bellow
Art Women quotes by Saul Bellow
The true art of being young is knowing how to defy gravity and upset as many people as possible while doing it. How to penetrate the great secrets of the universe and damn the torpedoes. How to stir the demons of our destiny ... ~ Mick Rock
Art Women quotes by Mick Rock
I had an idea for a story about a young woman who was living with people who were different, not just superficially different - such as hair colour, or eye colour, or skin colour - but different in some significant way. ~ Jean M. Auel
Art Women quotes by Jean M. Auel
In our society competitive capitalism has put family life and working life on a collision course. In Canada statistics show that over 70 percent of the burden of caring for children, the aged, the disabled and the sick falls on women most of whom receive no pay for these very essential tasks.Normally speaking, it may be said that the forces of capitalism, if left unchecked, tend to make the rich richer and the poor poorer and thus increase the gap between them. ~ Jawaharlal Nehru
Art Women quotes by Jawaharlal Nehru

Always suspect any job men willingly vacate for women. ~ Jill Tweedie
Art Women quotes by Jill Tweedie
The current crop of experts claimed that baby girls stare at faces while baby boys watch the mobile over their cribs. They extrapolated from this to conclude that women are inherently interested in people and men are inherently interested in objects.

... Turner supposed they might be right in a statistical sense, but numbers don't tell the whole story. If you have one foot in boiling water and one in a tub of dry ice, on the average you're comfortable. ~ Eileen Wilks
Art Women quotes by Eileen Wilks
Has feminism increased the pool of happy women? ~ Dennis Prager
Art Women quotes by Dennis Prager
Believing that all women should want to be mothers makes about as much sense as believing that all men should want to be engineers. ~ Harriet Lerner
Art Women quotes by Harriet Lerner

Art Women quotes by Felicity Huffman
All women on earth

hope for the kind of love that transforms us, raises us up out of the everyday, & gives us the courage to survive our little deaths: the heartache of unfulfilled dreams, of career and personal disappointments, of broken love affairs. ~ Lisa See

Art Women quotes by Natasa Nuit Pantovic
The most difficult art is not in the choice of men, but in giving to the men chosen the highest service of which they are capable. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Art Women quotes by Napoleon Bonaparte
I feel like life imitates art, or art imitates life. I always take on roles that I'm passionate about. ~ Tia Mowry
Art Women quotes by Tia Mowry
My honors thesis project was my first interactive exhibit, in which two facing chairs were activated by a motion sensor when the viewer walked by. One was a cofortable armchair of plush red velvet, with a dildo sticking out of a hole in the seat. When activated, the dildo moved up and down and a strobe light pulsed. The facing chair was hard and uncomfortable, with spikes protruding from the seat, and when the viewer walked by it a dog would bark. The juxtaposition of the two chairs was meant to represent how forces of repression censor the desire for liberation.

In that same exhibition, I showed a handmade box in the shape of a cross, decorated with a beautiful painting of the Holy Trinity. The viewer was encouraged to open the box, where they would find a dildo wrapped in the American flag and nailed to a cross-- this was meant to symbolize the hypocrisy and repression that is hidden under the attractive facade of organized religion. The dildo was surrounded by pages from the Bible, which were themselves surrounded by images of the sickness and starvation caused by the embargo in Iraq, a comment on the effects of imposing one culture and religion on another. ~ Wafaa Bilal
Art Women quotes by Wafaa Bilal
That fist he was raising at me would wham into the cupboard door, hurting only himself. I saw it all happening, then it really did happen. But I didn't understand the whore thing. Why was he confusing the drinking with the other? Then I got it. Obvious. It was all mixed up for him, all the same thing: the drinking, the other, anything that could make a woman free. ~ David Gates
Art Women quotes by David Gates
Where is women's sports prominently displayed with the men? Tennis is the only thing I can think of. ~ Ronda Rousey
Art Women quotes by Ronda Rousey
Here's one from me: 'You have to be aware that everyone else is thinking far too hard about themselves to be thinking about you, whoever you are.' If you want it, you can have it. Once you know that, you can be free. ~ Damien Hirst
Art Women quotes by Damien Hirst
It's still true that literary works by women, gays, and writers of color are often framed as specific rather than universal, small rather than big, personal or particular rather than socially significant. There are things you can do to shed light on and challenge those biases and bullshit moves. But the best possible thing you can do is get your ass down onto the floor. Write so blazingly good that you can't be framed. Nobody is going to ask you to write about your vagina, hon. Nobody is going to give you a thing. You have to give it to yourself. You have to tell us what you have to say. ~ Cheryl Strayed
Art Women quotes by Cheryl Strayed
What's the difference between venerating women for being fuckable and putting them on a purity pedestal? In both cases, women's worth is contingent upon their ability to please men and to shape their sexual identities around what men want. ~ Jessica Valenti
Art Women quotes by Jessica Valenti
Men of intellect did not, as a rule, bring home stray women who insisted on flinging themselves on horses. ~ Katie MacAlister
Art Women quotes by Katie MacAlister
Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed had not labor first existed. ~ Abraham Lincoln
Art Women quotes by Abraham Lincoln
I've never felt grounded because of my ancestry or my gender. I think until women get away from that they're not going to be great writers. ~ Patti Smith
Art Women quotes by Patti Smith
Hey Lay?"
"Yeah?"
"A lot of women… they, uh… they expect me to be some sort of sexual dynamo between the sheets."
"Kinda tacky bringing up other women right now, don't you think?"
"Sorry."
"Besides. I'm not a lot of women."
"Oh, I know that. I'm just trying to give you a heads up about what to expect here. Because I totally am. ~ T. Torrest
Art Women quotes by T. Torrest
I agree with Miss Erstwhile, you are acting like a scarecrow. I do not know why you put on this act, Nobley, when around the port table or out in the field you're rather a pleasant fellow."
"Really? That is curious," Jane said. "Why, Mr. Nobley, are you generous in your attentions with gentlemen and yet taciturn and withdrawn around the fairer sex?"
Mr. Nobley's eyes were back on the printed page, though they didn't scan the lines. "Perhaps I do not possess the type of conversation that would interest a lady."
"You say 'perhaps' as though you do not believe it yourself. What else might be the reason, sir?" Jane smiled. Needling Mr. Nobley was feeling like a very productive use of the evening.
"Perhaps another reason might be that I myself do not find the conversation of ladies to be very stimulating." His eyes were dark.
"Hm, I just can't imagine why you're still unmarried."
"I might say the same for you."
"Mr. Nobley!" cried Aunt Saffronia.
"No, it's all right, Aunt," Jane said. "I asked for it. And I don't even mind answering." She put a hand on her hip and faced him. "One reason why I am unmarried is because there aren't enough men with guts to put away their little boy fears and commit their love and stick it out."
"And perhaps the men do not stick it out for a reason."
"And what reason might that be?"
"The reason is women." He slammed his book shut. "Women make life impossible until the man has to be the one to end i ~ Shannon Hale
Art Women quotes by Shannon Hale
Who knows? If women all end up with the same face and body, men may gravitate toward the quirky. Then the chicks with the laugh lines and love handles will be the lucky ones. ~ Maureen Dowd
Art Women quotes by Maureen Dowd
I try to express in my films things that no other art can approach. In my monster films for example, I use special effects in the same way one would use a special film stock, a special camera, and so on. Monster films permit me to use all of these elements at the same time. They are the most visual kind of film. ~ Ishiro Honda
Art Women quotes by Ishiro Honda
All art, in spite of the struggles of some critics to prove otherwise, is based on emotion and projects emotion. ~ Louise Bogan
Art Women quotes by Louise Bogan
I would advise a stupid woman always to follow her hsuband - however, a smart woman should rely on her own instincts. ~ Peter Prange
Art Women quotes by Peter Prange
Makeup can be used to express yourself as well. Those experiences should not be limited to women. Everyone should be free to be as colorful as they want to be. ~ Ian Thomas Malone
Art Women quotes by Ian Thomas Malone
I thought every person should live for art, not just me, and furthermore, why would I want to be normal? Why would I want to be stupid like everyone else? ~ Rabih Alameddine
Art Women quotes by Rabih Alameddine
Just as eunuchs will never know aesthetics as applied to the selection of beautiful women, so neither will pure rationalists ever know ethics, nor will they ever succeed in defining happiness, for happiness is a thing that is lived and felt, not a thing that is reasoned or defined. ~ Miguel
Art Women quotes by Miguel
Loud people, especially loud women, always attract enemies ~ Ian McEwan
Art Women quotes by Ian McEwan
